I was thinking of the bird form in Howl’s Moving Castle and became possesed by the idea of an AU for these two:

Jack left home looking for adventure, but stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time and became cursed with frost that creeps along his skin, slowly freezing him to death.

Pitch is an ancient wizard of sorts, with his own curse - the more power he uses, the more monstrous he becomes. He was banished for using dark magic on people, and now resides in a winding maze of underground caverns.

Knowing only that Pitch used to be one of the most powerful magic-users around, Jack seeks him out in hopes the ancient wizard can reverse the spell on him before it’s too late

Broadchurch crime scene shenanigans!

Ellie stares at the contents of the freezer. "All right, well this is horrible," she says, while around her SOCO is taking pictures and putting things in bags. Not that there's much — the bedsit is almost completely empty, furniture gone and dust spinning along the corners of the room.

Hardy sniffs and makes a face like he regrets it — the freezer's been plugged in but even so, the smell of severed head isn't a pleasant one. Not to mention poor little Lachlan, being efficiently sick into an evidence bag he'd fumbled out of his pocket upon viewing the body.

Well, part of the body.

"Why does he look familiar?" Ellie's only been living here in Glasgow for six months, but Broadchurch has been harder to shake off than she thought; she still braces herself at every crime scene for the possibility that the victim, the assailant, the witnesses will be people she knows. But this city's a half-million strong and despite Hardy's complaints, she hasn't made friends with everyone on her street.

"It's — the head — uh," Lachlan says from the doorway, still gagging a bit but rallying. "I think it's the head of the body that MHU pulled out of the Clyde last week."

"God's sake," Hardy mutters, but Ellie ignores him and pulls out her mobile.

Annika answers the first ring. "Please don't say it," she says, instead of hello. "Because if you do, then that's two heads you've found that belong to us and at this rate, I think it qualifies as theft."

Ellie doesn't laugh, because she's standing at a crime scene with a decapitated victim and that seems disrespectful somehow. "You're more then welcome to this one—"

"Oi," Hardy protests, making a gesture for the phone.

Ellie turns away from him. "But I'm on holiday in two days so your main point of contact is going to be Hardy."

There's a long silence on the other end, and then a clinking sound before Michael gets on the line. "She just covered her hands with her face and dropped her phone," he reports. "And is now staring out a window muttering about Ernest Hemmingway."

"I think that means we won," Ellie tells Hardy, covering the mouthpiece. Hardy sniffs again and looks even more disgusted.

For Sunday, I wanna mention Sol's romantic and sexual orientation.

I may have mentioned it before, but Solita probably falls into demiromantic pansexual. They're not very exclusive to each other, though, which is why I tend to not use the demiromantic label. Sol is fairly easy to sleep with. Get lunch with her, have a conversation and she's happy for some bed romping.

Romantically, though, it's a lot more difficult. She won't consider any typical romantic behavior as being so, more just. Friendship. If you're not clear with your intentions she's not going to consider anything further, or will actively repress the idea and emotions about romance.

It takes a while for her to fall for someone. While sex for her is mostly based on outer appearance and first impressions, she needs trust and connection with any sort of romance. It takes time for her to wear her heart on her sleeve for anyone. She just needs time to come to terms with someone truly wanting to see her that way, and that she, herself, wants to be seen that way.
