Battle #9
Allies - Tao (Level 13), Mae (Level 11), Khris (Level 11), Anri (Level 8), Amon (Level 5), Diane (Level 6) Enemies - 6 Skeletons, 2 Dark Elves, 2 Dark Mages, 4 Dark Priests, 1 Lizardman, 1 Master Mage
Attempt #1 - Mae is already doing less damage against the skeletons, only dealing three damage with her Lance. I think I may need to try to find the nearest shop to see if there are any better weapons... Amon, meanwhile does... 1 damage... Oh boy Amon... Amon... I hope you grow into a big strong SkyWarrior... Meanwhile, the skeleton does 11 DAMAGE.
Thankfully with Tao and Mae dealing damage, Amon was able to get the killing blow, thus she got extra EXP.
Khris got a level up by healing Amon, so that's pretty good, and she learned "Quick." A spell I NEVER use.
And I thought Amon would be able to do more damage, but she only did 5 against the Dark Elves. She's going to be a long one to train. Luckily the Dark Elf didn't know what to do with Amon positioned there and is just stuck. Because Dark Elves can do a WHOPPING 5 DAMAGE against Mae! Remember, she's a high defense, low HP tank. so that is VERY scary.
And a Skeleton moved to attack Anri, leaving her with 3 HP. Still scary stuff, but now it's able to be attacked and the only one that can retaliate would be the Dark Mage. If the skeleton can survive two blazes, a steel arrow, a lance and a power staff. Which even with its stronger defense in this chapter, I doubt it can. While it was able to attack one of my ladies, it really didn't survive. Mae was able to start attacking the Dark Priest and the Dark Mage did nothing. Meanwhile, Anri's freeze and Khris's Power Staff destroyed said confused Dark Mage. Diane cleaned up Mae's Dark Priest.
Mae attacked a Dark Priest, Diane attacked a skeleton, and Anri using Blaze Level 2 destroyed the skeleton and damaged the Dark Priest. She also gained a level up with an extra magic point.
I tried to destroy another Dark Priest with Mae, but attacked with the spear, leaving it with 1 Hp... Diane tried to take care of it... but it dodged. Amon got it though.
Now the Lance is doing 6 damage against Skeletons??? Near the Dark Mage??? That's weird. NOW the Dark Mage uses a spell against Mae??? WHAT IS THIS AI!?
Okay after killing the Skeleton, I'm moving Mae towards Khris to be healed. Diane got a level up attacking the Dark Mage And Amon cleaned it up, gaining 4 HP.
Amon tried attacking the Master Mage, but it immediately got healed. However it didn't go for any spells against her, instead trying (and failing) to hit her.
Tao got to unleash a blaze level 3, but... while setting up to destroy the last three enemies... The Master mage did 21 HP against Amon... Poor thing... Tao got a Level 2 Blaze revenge and got a level up though!
Mae attacked the Lizardman, but the Lizardman did 10 HP damage against Tao. Anri got revenge dealing 8 damage with a FREEZE spell.
And Diane finished the Master Mage off.

DREAM SMP UNDERTALE!AU
The previous parts can be found at the end of the post.
JUDGEMENT:
After hearing across L’Manberg’s streets about the tale of the Tragedy from long ago, Ranboo's road is blocked by a familiar figure: Karl, standing in front of him with his arms crossed. A shiver runs down Ranboo's back, despite not knowing what's going on. A bell is heard in the distance. It’s time for judgement. Karl explains to Ranboo how all actions have consequences. How every time you kill a Mob you get experience... but every time you kill a Player, in this server, you get EXP... Executions Points, and you earn LV... Level of Violence. The six players who fell into the Underground before him and after the Tragedy  behaved differently one from another: some of them got a lot of LV; others, very little; some none.  Ranboo gain none. Not only has he never killed anyone but he never hurt anyone, he never stole anything, nor griefed anything seriously - some pranks there and there (unbeknownst to Karl, nearly all prompted by the ghost boy, as Ranboo has the “backbone of a chocolate eclair“ ), but nothing really serious... Ranboo never gained LOVE, but he gained love. Does that make sense? Maybe not. Karl also notes that Ranboo seems to have become a little more self-confident than the first time he saw him, at the start of his journey: he is more assertive, he talks more to people, and seems to act more "alone", but he still "doesn't seem to have grown up enough". In the end, Karl wishes him good luck with the King and lets him pass. Ranboo approaches the throne room. The ghost boy seems to have become way more sad and gloomy, but after a brief hesitation, he follows him inside. THE KING: A lonely figure is building something in the garden of the Castle, muttering to himself before noticing Ranboo approaching. Although he initially greets him cheerfully, in the exact moment King Phiza realizes who's arrived... everything seems to get silent, and his face darkens. He doesn't seem angry or bloodthirsty, however. Rather, to Ranboo, he seems almost surrendered, and sad. Phil apologizes to Ranboo, but invites the boy to follow him to the final battle. He also notes that, despite his height, he is quite young, and comments softly on something Ranboo can't hear. Phil takes him in front of the Barrier, showing him the SOULS of the other six Players who have fallen before him. Then, saying goodbye, he attacks him. Ranboo tries to settle the battle peacefully, but he can't. Philza won't let him, and it would make no sense: after all, he has to absorb the king’s SOUL to be able to go home. The two fight and Ranboo is forced to reset several times to figure out how to beat the terrifying force that is the King. In the end, however, he succeeds. He brings the man to his knees, the Axe of Peace in his hand, a weapon that Philza had noticed during the fight and that had prompted him to hesitate, several times. Maybe that's why Ranboo really won. Ranboo could kill him immediately. Instead, he lowers the weapon. Despite what's at stake, he can't do it and the boy collapses too, apologizing. The two talk. Philza reveals to him that after the initial desire for revenge, when the previous King left the city, running away towards the Ruins, Philza also realized the truth: that all that hatred was corrupting L’Manberg, that it was corrupting him, its citizens. But he had lost three sons, and people needed something to continue fight, and Philza hadn't been able to leave them in trouble. So for years he had held the crown on his head and continued with the plan, even though he hated with all his heart what he had become. Ranboo tries to tell him that, perhaps, all is not yet lost - and Philza notices, with a sad smile, that perhaps now is the time to start over. At the exact moment the man offers him to stay there, to make a home, to become a family, an axe is thrown at his back, straight between his wings - and in front of Ranboo's eyes, Philza falls to the ground, disappearing in a cloud of dust while the ghost boy screams.  Dream laughs, destroying the king's SOUL. And then everything falls to...
                                                  DARKNESS
Darkness it’s the only thing Ranboo sees. The Barrier is gone, Dream is gone, the ghost boy is gone. Ranboo tries to search around, to call for help, to access his Save File. But in front of him there is only a smiling face - and then another, and another, and another. Always the same smile. Finally, Dream appears in front of him, having stolen his Save File. Dream teases him, thanking him for having weakened King Philza so that he could take the SIX SOULS. He now has all of them: all he needs is Ranboo's to become the most powerful person on the server - and thus be able to continue playing. Dream also tells the boy that he can try to call for help as much as he wants, but that "nobody will come", and that he has also blocked away that "stupid ghost pawn” who kept following him. Ranboo tries to continually survive Dream's attacks, calling for help several times, but it's useless and Dream kills him again, and again, and again, playing with him as a child would. Until something change and, to his absolute shock, Dream cannot reset anymore. Someone answered Ranboo’s call. The SIX SOULS have managed to rebel. They weaken Dream and heal Ranboo, allowing the boy to attack him and finally, after a long battle, he defeats him. Dream crumbles in front of Ranboo. He’s so weak that he actually seems a lot smaller and younger that he was before. Dream, still with his -now chipped- smiley mask on his face, mocks Ranboo and tells him to kill him, as the world is kill or be killed. Ranboo initially wants to, but he hesitates and refuses to do it, over and over again. Dream looks confused and runs away, not understanding what is happening. As darkness surrounds Ranboo, he feels a receding presence along with the SIX SOULS - but it doesn't feel like that of the ghost boy. It is different, but still familiar. Darkness, again, comes.
A GOODBYE?
A telephone rings, as a voice resounds in the silence. It's Karl's, who’s trying to call Ranboo. Realizing that the boy is not responding, he just leaves a message on the answering machine along with everyone who is there - Sam, Sapnap, Quackity, Puffy and so on. They say they don't know what exactly happened, but that when Ranboo disappeared, the SIX SOULS apparently went away with him. With all their progress’ gone and no guidance left, the Underground had been in danger of falling into despair again. They had however tried, all together, to bring hope, and the old King, Techno, had returned from the Ruins. Instead of resuming his role he dissolved the Kingdom: now everyone is equal, working as a community. They build, they create projects, they collaborate. Fundy, Sam and various others are working on another way to leave the Underground. Sapnap is willing to leave, now that the plan they hated so much is gone, to seek for the friends who had wandered off into the depths of the Underground, to ask them to return to the SMP lands. Karl also says that Techno, absent at that moment, is not angry with Ranboo for Philza's death because he realizes that Ranboo had been "forced to" do it in order to return home, and that he understands what it means to act under the pressure of something “stronger”. With his phone at a very low battery, Karl ends the call, hoping that wherever Ranboo is, he remembers them.
The message ends. Ranboo stands in front of Dream, in the void. The latter asks him why, if the boy did everything correctly, he’s still there. Why didn't he go home? Maybe because Ranboo thinks that this is not a happy ending? Maybe he wants to change things? Who knows... maybe Ranboo hasn't done enough. He became friends with everyone, but did he become friends with everyone? If the moral of "kill or be killed" is wrong, then maybe Ranboo can prove that the opposite is right? Dream invites Ranboo to reset, once again, and discover all the secrets of the Underground and the Dream SMP.

I POISON KISS I A Vampire x Dust story
IChapter 1.I
Dust sighed heavily, crawling on the pile of unmade sheets that were supposed to represent what was left of his bed. The skeleton looked around, noting that the room was completely destroyed. Of all the places he could have chosen to vent his anger, he had wisely decided to take refuge in his room. He looked up to the sky, feeling a vague sense of irritation towards himself, another disaster to add to the mess he felt in his head at that moment. Speaking of mess, the excessively loud voice of his deceased brother kept buzzing in his head, shuffling through the walls, mixing and blending in with his boss's earlier words. "Papyrus shut up!" he exclaimed exasperatedly, closing his eyes, trying to make pass with the sole will of thought what foretold an immense headache.
Incredibly, once in a while Papyrus had decided to take pity on him, because he immediately stopped talking, dissolving and disappearing from his sight. Dust puffed, honestly at that moment he didn't even care so much that perhaps he had offended his brother's spirit. All he wanted to do at that moment was sleep, but of course it was a luxury he could not afford. The most significant words in the brief conversation he had with Nightmare seemed to appear and disappear in front his eyes, haunting him like the ghosts of his past. "Dust this doesn't work, you're too weak. You're starting to become a dead weight for the team" "what?! Boss, what are you saying?! I have the same level of LOVE as the others, in fact, i'd rather say that i'm even better than all of them put together!" "That may have been true until a few months ago, but now? Come on, stop avoiding the truth, you know it too. The others are making progress and getting better and stronger every day, but you? I can't remember the last time i saw you take training seriously" Dust gritted his teeth remembering those words, part of him knew that Nightmare was right, but that didn't take away the fact that it pissed him off, not even a little bit. "I want to give you a chance Dust, since you have always been one of my best fighters. You have one week to increase your power by at least 5 levels, if you don't succeed and you show me that you are no longer useful to the team, i will make sure that the word dust is not the only thing that represents your name. Did i made myself clear?" God, the need to hit him, to wipe that constant air of superiority from his face had never been so strong. Dust could still feel the slight tremor in his hands, a sign that he needed to kill someone, to gain more exp, now. He got up, opening the door of the room with the simple use of his magic, his hands still had a slight tremor. Surprisingly, however, he was not the only one present in the corridor. "Damn, what's wrong? Bad day D?" The two-eyed skeleton took an annoyed look at what was theoretically close enough to be called his friend. As close as a colleague of killing and destruction could be called a friend. The other could honestly consider himself lucky enough to tolerate his presence enough not to kill him right there on the spot. Killer's almost permanent smile did nothing more than expand to the discontent of the other. Ignoring the clear death threats that the other had thrown at him with that simple glance, the skeleton with black tears broke away from the wall where he had previously rested, hastening his step, walking alongside the other. "So, judging by your bad mood i assume that the boss has spoken to you" Dust couldn't help but raise his eyes to the sky, a verse of mockery came out of his tightened mouth. Obviously Killer already knew everything. After all, he was literally Nightmare's little dog. Dust had repeatedly wondered whether there was anything more behind the scene of the boss and his loyal subordinate. He had seen them, the signs and marks on the body of the other. He would not know whether to interpret them as positive or negative signs, considering that each time it seemed that Killer had fought against some kind of beast. However, judging by the usual slightly less cold smile with which the other one returned to his room each time, Dust had ventured the hypothesis that the encounters between the two were more than consensual on both sides. Not that he gave a damn, if one fuck was enough to keep Nightmare's bad temper at bay, then as far as he was concerned they could spend whole days locked in their rooms. The hooded skeleton shook his head slightly, it would have been better if certain thoughts had never taken shape in his head. Regardless of the lack of cooperation in making conversation, Killer continued to talk to him. "you know, i wouldn't worry too much, i mean, if you start to do something right away, maybe you might have a chance to survive" sometimes Dust wondered why he allowed such idiots to consume his precious time. That conversation was getting him nowhere, as far as he was concerned, Killer at that moment was more than useless to him. In fact, all he was doing was increasing his boiling irritation. Dust fasted his pace, in the hope that the other one would understand the antiphon and decide to give him a break, at least for once. Killer chuckled at this, but understood the message, stopping in his footsteps, continuing to observe how the other one hastened to increase, one step after the other, the distance that separated them. "I know a way that will make you become stronger" Dust stopped immediately on the spot, his gaze, although the other could not see him, still seemed impassive; nevertheless, a spark of interest had begun to shine in the luminous irises. Slowly, he turned, half of his face was hidden by the blood coloured scarf slightly worn by time and monster dust. "Speak" Killer smiled, knowing he had him wrapped right around his finger. The skeleton took his time, reducing the distance that Dust had created a few moments earlier into slow, relaxed steps. He stopped right in front of him. The two of them stared into each other's eyes for very long moments, as if threatening the other one to give in first. In the end, Killer shrugged his shoulders. One of the hands constantly hidden in the pockets of his sweatshirt came out, revealing together the contents he was hiding. Dust looked skeptically at the small piece of paper the other was handing him. He looked up, staring at the other with a blatant irritation, mixed with a hidden temptation to murder. "what the hell am i supposed to do with a piece of paper?" "heh, go to the address on it, once there, tell him what you came for" despite the seed of doubt still clearly present in his gaze, Dust finally decided to take it. The letters that were written on it made his mouth twitch in a bitter and annoyed grimace. "They say that the guy who lives there is able to give you everything you want, but like everything else, this also has a price" Killer's voice was reduced to nothing more than a whisper. They danced temptingly to the side of his head, his warm breath almost sensually caressing the area where his ear should have been. "I advise you to be careful Dust, they say his words are particularly...sharp" Killer's laughter continued for several moments along the walls of the dark corridor, even when the skeleton was no longer present. Dust continued to stare at the slightly crumpled piece of paper in his hand. The words "AU: Vampiretale" followed by a series of coordinates apparently indecipherable to him swayed slightly in front his eyes. Dust clenched his fist, watching as the paper crumpled on itself with a slight protest sound. There was no way such a universe like that really existed, let alone a guy who could give you everything you want. Killer had simply mocked him, it was certainly not the first time. Yet why had his soul started beating at a slightly faster pace? Like some part of him really believed a bullshit like that? Doubt seemed to continue to prevail in his mind, stifling his other emotions, yet he could not deny that a part of him was curious. Dust hurriedly slipped the piece of paper into his pocket, starting to walk again as if nothing had happened. His mind seemed like a tornado in a storm, more violent than usual. There was only one way to find out whether or not Killer had lied to him, and as much as he wasn't so excited about it, he realized that his options were not that wide..
To be continued...

The Gamer Hero, Deku Chapter 30
A/N: I initially forgot that the HP-related stat in The Gamer was VIT and not CON when I first started writing this chapter because I had DnD on the brain. How embarrassing would it have been if I hadn't caught that?
xoxoxo
I looked at my newest text boxes as Aizawa-sensei talked.
Through repeated meditation, your VIT has increased by one!
By raising VIT above 100, two random skills have been created!
The skill 'Healing Grace' has been created through VIT rising above 100 and having a healing skill with a level of 95 or higher!
The skill 'Immovable Object' has been created through VIT rising above 100!
The skill 'Purity of Body' has been created through VIT rising above 100!
Through repeated meditation, your STR has increased by one!
I'd actually got them on the way to school so I could go to my work study, which was pretty lucky. My VIT had been pretty close to the hundred-point benchmark after that ridiculous +15 to all stats, so naturally I'd had my Mantra set to level it up for the past few days. And now that I had the skills, I'd probably be trying to get my STR up. It wasn't as high as VIT was, but it still wasn't that far off so I'd set Mantra to level it unless I was Meditating, when I would switch Mantra to something else and use Meditation for STR. Mantra's benefits had improved slightly as it leveled up, so it might even happen within the month!
I closed the text boxes after I was done reading what the skills did. Purity of Body was the standard improved version of the previous benchmark's skill, nothing much to comment on there other than the fact that it probably synergized well with Damage Reduction because it improved my HP. Immovable Object was... I suppose it was good and I could definitely find uses for it, but it looked a little unwieldy, too... It was a powerful barrier spell, but the barrier got a lot of its strength from being rooted, completely immobile. Even after turning the skill off the barrier would take a few moments to dissolve, leaving me immobile unless I could brute force my way through it... which I could probably do if I wanted, but not without using up more MP. At the very least I was already halfway through puzzling out how to use Item Enchantment to combine it with Imaginary Architect, which would give it a lot more versatility (though I doubted I'd get much EXP if at all for it if I only used an enchantment derived from it...). The barrier would be immobile even in midair, though it thankfully made me immobile relative to Earth and not truly immobile so I wouldn't fly off every time I used it.
I noticed, though, that it reminded me of Illusion Barrier in a way. I couldn't tell too well without actually using the skill, but it felt like it drew on the same underlying dimensional... thing... that Illusion Barrier tapped into, though in a different manner. Instead of creating another layer of reality using its fabric, it seemed like the barrier would gain extra stability by being rooted to it. Though maybe 'rooted' might not have been the right word for it...
The best skill, though, was Healing Grace. In addition to increasing the rate at which my HP naturally regenerated, it also enhanced the effects of any skill I had that was even remotely related to healing. That was amazing, especially with how my current objective (even if I hadn't gotten a quest for it) was to heal Iida's brother. And that wasn't all Healing Grace enhanced. Regeneration, Meditation, and Mantra also healed for more now, though it seemed that Super Regeneration, being a Quirk and not a skill, didn't have the same benefits. It didn't seem to do anything for the MP regeneration effects on Meditate and Mantra, and while I couldn't check it as easily I assumed the same could be said for the rate at which it trained my stats. Not that I cared that much, it was already good. And that wasn't even mentioning its active effect, which let me sacrifice HP to further increase how effective my healing skills were at healing others. HP that it caused me to regenerate at an increased rate. I would have to be careful with it, but just skimming a bit off the top of my very large HP bar to improve my healing and level up Healing Grace faster seemed like a good idea.
Okay maybe I was overhyping Healing Grace just a little, but it looked pretty good. Plus the fact that it modified Mantra meant that it was passively gaining EXP with Mantra, even if it was only a little.
"Remember, you're not allowed to wear your hero costumes in public without express permission from a hero you're studying under," Aizawa reminded us. We were waiting for our transportation at a train station, and Aizawa-sensei was using it as an opportunity to give us some reminders. "And make sure you keep track of them, don't just leave them lying around." He glared at me. "Speaking of... Midoriya, you're the only person here without a costume case. Where is it?"
"I have it in my inventory, sir," I told him. "I figured that since I would only be allowed to take it out when I'm allowed to use my Quirk anyway, I might as well make it easier on myself."
"I suppose that's fine, then. And everyone, remember to mind your manners. Now go, your transportation should be here soon."
"Yes, sir!" everyone said before we went our separate ways. I noticed Iida walking away alone, so I walked towards him.
"Iida!" I said. He stopped. Kacchan and Uraraka walked up behind me. "Just remember," I said. "If you ever feel overwhelmed, you can talk to me."
"Me too!" Uraraka added.
"Again, I'm probably not the best person to talk to, but I'll totally listen if you want," Kacchan said.
I smiled. "We're friends, okay?"
He slowly turned around. "Of course." With that, he resumed walking to his train. I followed him. "What are you doing, Midoriya?" he asked.
"Sorry, I think my train is this way too."
He glared at me. "Did you plan this?"
I raised my hands in defense. "I swear I didn't! My train is just this way."
"I suppose so."
"Good luck on your work study, though," I said. "And be safe."
He nodded. "You too, Midoriya."
xoxoxo
I stared at the little map that Yagi-sensei had given me, comparing it with my minimap as I walked down the street. "So this Gran Torino guy even made Yagi-sensei nervous... I wonder what he's like."
"I can't say what he's like now, but when I knew him he was nice, though very... severe," Shimura told me.
"So like Yagi-sensei's version of Aizawa-sensei?" I asked.
She made a noise a bit like a verbal shrug. "Kind of, but not exactly."
"Well I can't wait to see him."
"Speaking of, why did you choose to go here?" Honenuki asked me. "You have us, so it's not like you really need his instruction on how to properly use One For All. No offense to him, of course."
I shrugged. "Yagi-sensei said that he was heavily DEX-based, and I've been meaning to work on my mobility anyway. Plus I didn't want to just brush him off, if he knows about One For All and All For One." I paused. "Hang on, were they just the two halves of that saying? Why did I not notice that before?"
"That was the last time my brother and I agreed, actually," Ichigo explained. "A few years after he forced Power Stockpile on me, we had a confrontation. He had continued to use his Quirk, called Power Theft then, for his own selfish gain, while I had just found out I could give my Quirk to someone else." He chuckled wryly. "We actually used One For All and All For One as a bit of a shared catchphrase when we were kids, so we agreed to split it in half, as it were."
"That's... kinda poetic, actually. Thank you for telling me." I stopped, seeing that I was in the right place. I looked up from the note. "Huh. This... is the right place, right?"
The place was... this might sound bad, but it looked a little run-down. Yagi-sensei mentioned that this Torino guy had come out of retirement to teach me, so it was probably just that the building was old. The doors looked fine, though, so I hoped that it was just that the outside that was worse for wear. I knocked on the door, waiting to be let in.
A few minutes passed, so I knocked again. And again I was met with silence. "Excuse me," I said loudly. "I'm here for an internship?" There was definitely someone there on my minimap. I asked my elementals, and they told me the person was just... laying there, covered in ketchup and sausage links. "I'm coming in, excuse me!" I decided, then opened the unlocked door. If I didn't know the old man was alive and the things under him were ketchup and sausages, I probably would've thought he was dead. It didn't help that the lights were off and there was a shattered plate on the floor.
Get Off My Lawn
LV 92
Torino Sorahiko
Though I was pretty sure the dead didn't have titles. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked.
His head shot up. "I'm alive!" he shouted.
"Yeah, do you need help cleaning up? You appear to be covered in ketchup." I didn't want to assume it was a test or prank, in case he actually did slip while carrying a plate of ketchup-covered sausages. "If you'll allow it, I have water magic and can summon paper towels with my Quirk."
"Oh, thank you, young man!" He got up shakily, leaning heavily on his cane. He was definitely wearing a hero outfit, regardless of his current state. I didn't think anyone would wear a yellow cape and a domino mask casually, at least. "Who are you?"
I pulled some paper towels out of my inventory. "I'm Midoriya Izuku, from Yuuei. I'm here for a work study?"
He took the paper towels and started wiping himself off. "Oh. Who are you?"
"Midoriya Izuku."
He smiled at me. "Toshinori?"
That was Yagi-sensei's name, so I guess he knew I had One For All, at least... "Um, any help, guys?" I asked the past bearers.
"Maybe try reading his mind?" Hikiishi suggested. "You can do that, right?"
"Sora, why?" Shimura sighed.
"Where's your costume?" the old man asked once he finished wiping himself off. His bearing had shifted, and he looked a lot more serious. He wasn't shaking anymore. "Put that on and fire One For All off at me."
I opened my inventory and dragged the costume case over to my equipment screen. Just like I'd hoped, it autoequipped my costume for me, and it even put on a little button that looked like it would let me autodequip my costume and pack it back up for me (hopefully returning my original clothes with it). I'd have to check if it actually did that, but it was cool nonetheless. My hero costume appeared on my body with a rush of air. I stretched, checking the changes to the outfit. It looked mostly the same, but I could already feel that it was easier to move around in than my old costume.
"How'd you do that?" Torino asked.
"Did you get any information about my Quirk?" I asked him.
"It's called The Gamer and it gives you powers like a video game character, specifically an RPG."
I nodded. "I have an inventory power, which is what I used to get those paper towels for you. It also has an equipment menu, and I just equipped my hero costume."
"That makes sense, I suppose." He got into a fighting stance. "Now hit me with your best shot. One For All only."
"Um... Can I do something first? If I throw a blast of One For All, it'll probably cause property damage."
"What is it?"
"I have a spell that... It's a little hard to explain but basically I can use it to let us do as destructive training we want without worrying about property damage, by basically putting us in a temporary pocket dimension."
He nodded. "Do that, then."
I placed my hand on his shoulder and dragged us both into an Illusion Barrier. Then I turned around and punched at the door. "LIMIT BREAK!" I shouted as the blastwave wrecked most of that wall, as well as the street and the building on the other side. "I am very glad I used Illusion Barrier," I said as I shook off my hand. It didn't hurt too bad, but after using One For All at 100% it was a little tingly.
"Well there's your problem, kid," Torino said. "Well, I can see another thing that you should be mindful of, too, but you've got one main problem. I know a bit about video games, you know. Watched a few YouTube videos on some RPGs when I decided to take you on, too. Plus I watched your performance in the sports festival as well. You're thinking about One For All like a limited resource or a super meter to draw on when you need a big attack, but that ain't just what it is. Think about how Toshinori uses One For All, I'm sure you've seen him use it before."
I nodded and put some ideas about what he meant in the text chat for the past bearers to give their thoughts on. "I think I get what you're suggesting."
"Good." To my surprise he jumped around the rest of the room, zooming between the floor, three remaining walls, and even ceiling. He landed on a nearby table, breaking it, and grinned at me. "You wanna put it into practice?" He pulled out a stopwatch. "You have three minutes to land a single hit on me, using only One For All. Starting now." He clicked it and started jumping around again. He was using his Quirk, Jet, which let him shoot powerful jets of air from the bottoms of his feet. He darted in for a punch, and I dodged backwards, tapping into One For All. Really, it was so obvious that I would've hit myself if I had time. It was basically what I did for Elemental Aura already, just using One For All instead of elemental magic. I felt a feeling like lightning running all over my body as I jumped. I sailed clear out the hole that was the broken fourth wall, still keeping my eyes on him.
He bounced a few more times before shooting straight at me. I stood my ground, concentrating more One For All in my arm. When he was close enough that I was hoping he couldn't dodge the attack, I punched in his direction. It was a textbook Texas Smash, sending a powerful shockwave in Gran Torino's direction, but he managed to dodge to the side with his Quirk. He shot at me again, but I dodged out of the way first. "I see what you did," he noted. "You saw me bouncing around the room with blinding speed and decided to get me out in the open, where maybe I'd be a bit slower." He grinned. "Changing the environment to your advantage or your opponent's disadvantage. Good. Just remember that it might not always work. After all, you're the one on a time-"
I didn't let him finish that, trying to blindside him by charging at him while he was still monologuing. He still managed to shoot upwards before I hit him, but I had anticipated that and used Weird Flex (that might have been cheating slightly, but it was less of a magical or Quirk-related skill and more of a literal skill that just happened to get enhanced by The Gamer, like Sword Mastery) to pivot so that I could push off the ground with my hands. The ground cracked with the force that I used pushing off of it, and I shot into Gran Torino foot-first. He grunted, stunned, and I punched off the air a few times to get on the opposite side of him so I could catch him before we hit the ground.
Your level has increased by one!
I was already pretty close to a level up before that fight, so even though it wasn't much of a fight the EXP was still enough to level me up.
"Sorry if that was a little too hard," I said when we landed, then pulled out my Quirk healer license. "I can heal you, if you're hurt."
He grunted, got up, and rubbed his stomach. "Thanks, kid." He chuckled. "You really showed a lot of promise there, kid," he said as I healed him. "It only took me a little prodding to correct how you use your Quirk."
I smiled. "Yeah, and we didn't even touch on my other Quirks."
He raised his eyebrow. "'Other Quirks?' Plural?"
"Sorry, did Yagi-sensei not mention that?" I asked. I raised my hand, switching Skeletal in. Oof, my costume wasn't looking too good after that giant blast... I was already going to use Mending after my demonstration, but still... I tensed my arm, activating Skeletal. White armor calcified along my hand and forearm, forming something like a gauntlet that destroyed the remains of that sleeve and glove. "The Gamer evolved the ability to copy Quirks during the sports festival. I got the Quirks of the past bearers, as well as a few others, as quest rewards from a quest related to the sports festival." I deactivated Skeletal, causing the bone armor to retract back into my skin, and fixed my costume with Mending.
"Well, practice with those new Quirks of yours for now." His demeanor lightened. "I'm gonna go get us some food!" He walked away.
"Um... Let's go inside first so I can drop the Illusion Barrier first?" I suggested. "I don't think I'm allowed to just drop us out of a pocket dimension in the middle of the street."
He looked at the carnage we'd made, then around at the lack of people on the street, and chuckled. "That sounds about right. No use scaring the civilians." We walked back inside. "Who are you, again?"
I broke the barrier. "Midoriya. Should I just practice with my Quirks and magic until you're back?"
"Sure. But who are you, though?"
I sighed. "Just go, please."
"Goodbye, Toshinori!" He said with a smile as he walked out the door.
"Goodbye," I said. The second the door closed I activated another Illusion Barrier, leaving my elementals on the other side so I would know when he came back. I'd recently gotten a new setting for Illusion Barrier, but I decided against using it quite yet and just made another skeleton barrier. "Practice with my Quirks. Got it." I activated One For All again, getting that electrical feeling again. It reminded me of using Lightning Aura, actually. Which made sense, given how close what I was doing was to Elemental Aura.
That gave me an idea, but first...
I jumped, putting all of my strength into it. I immediately regretted that, as using One For All's full power to jump seemed like it was slightly overkill seeing how high I flew. Luckily I had I Burn on, so I'd absorbed all the energy from how hard I hit the ceiling, an impact hard enough that I lost some HP from it even with my Physical Endurance and Damage Reduction. And then I absorbed the negligible amount of energy I got from punching through a cloud a moment later. Speaking of which, I looked at the building...s I just destroyed from the giant hole in the cloud I was above. It was so far away that even with Hawkeye I could just barely see the largest chunks. I didn't actually expect it to work, so I was pleasantly surprised when I felt them when I reached out with Singularity. "The range it has is ridiculous, if it can do that," I muttered. I yanked, pulling those chunks upwards. "It doesn't even feel like I'm straining it..." I did notice my regeneration dropping a few points as I pulled the chunks up to me, but it was amazing how much power I got out of Singularity.
I turned off Singularity as I dropped below the cloud headfirst, switching to grabbing the chunks that had just flown past me and into the clouds with Blackwhip. I made a barrier enchanted with Immovable Object above my feet and braced on it to stop the building chunks. I strained at their momentum for a second, then jumped with half the power I had used before once the pull from the chunks abated. As I hurtled downwards I looked around the town I was above. I saw a few important landmarks: a tower, a square with a fountain, an important-looking building that could've been town hall, and the train station I'd arrived at. I double-checked that I was still in the Illusion Barrier, because this would be really bad otherwise...
I raised the amount of One For All I was using and swung my hands, trying to hit the four targets with the building pieces I was carrying with Blackwhip. My aim was a little off, but considering the fact that I was throwing around giant chunks of rubble I was fine with the result. Plus, they had all ended up crushing some skeletons that had spawned. I'd read in an article of tips for heroes Yagi-sensei had shared in one of his classes that in general a hero should try to not throw stuff at people if they can avoid it because they can typically hit harder than whatever they can pick up and it lowers property damage in general, so while that was fun I wasn't planning on making a habit of throwing buildings at people.
I let myself fall after that. I'd lost some of my momentum when I'd thrown the buildings, but I was still coming in fast. I could probably just use Float to stop falling, but I decided to try to tank the landing instead. It'd be great for I Burn, for one. I switched in Skeletal, giving myself some extra armor over the areas that I'd be landing on, and used Earth Aura to provide some shock absorption. I landed in a textbook three-point landing in the middle of a throng of skeletons, triggering an OFA-overpowered Earth Burst as I did that basically caused a miniature earthquake.
"Ow," I said despite the fact that it only took off a small bit of health that I gained back almost immediately. "Deadpool was right, those are hard on the knees..." I got up, turning Skeletal off and Mending my shredded costume again. I was standing in the middle of a crater with giant cracks radiating from it. I noticed dust pouring into one of the cracks. "Hello," I said as the skeletal samurai spawned. "It's nice to see you again." I could've probably just flicked it to death with One For All, but I decided against that.
The skeleton charged and swung at me, but I blocked it with Skeletal armor. I trapped the sword as I glanced off my armor by forming spikes of bone around it, then switched in Magnetize without switching Skeletal, Copy, or I Burn out. I could feel that the efficiency dropped when I used Magnetize on the sword, but not as much as the last time I tried it. After Magnetizing the sword, I slapped the skeleton's armor, giving it a dose of Magnetize too, and pressed the sword to it. I snickered when the skeleton tried futilely to pry the sword off of its armor, even though Magnetize wasn't as strong as it could've been.
It glared at me, despite not having any eyebrows. I somehow got the message that it wanted me to take our fight seriously.
"Okay, sorry." I put the palm of my hand up to its chest. "I'll take this seriously now." I switched out Magnetize and Copy for Explosion. I had an idea I wanted to test, so I created a hole in the bone armor on my palm for Explosion to work. I gave my hand a bit more One For All than the rest of my body and triggered a blast. I was forced to take a step back from the recoil as an explosion like a shaped charge blasted a hole through the skeleton's armor. It was armor-piercing, sure, but just like when I tried chopping bits off of the other skeletal samurai it only shaved off some HP.
"I guess sometimes finesse just doesn't compare to brute force," I muttered. True, I could've taken it down with hits like that, but it would take way longer than just encasing it in ice with Half-Cold Half-Hot and throwing it into a building with Blackwhip, which I did. This time the skeleton didn't drop anything, which hopefully wasn't because I encased it in ice before killing it.
I got a message from my elementals that Gran Torino came back, so I went back to his house in about a second using Sonic Embodiment. I placed myself about where I thought the floor was before I turned it into a crater, then dropped my Illusion Barrier. Thankfully, dropping out of Illusion Barrier in a position where something was there in the real world didn't do damage to anything and just caused the two objects to move if possible until they weren't inside each other, so even though my aim was off and my feet were clipping through the floor I just shot up until I was standing.
"Ah!" Gran Torino, who was carrying some grocery bags, shouted when I appeared out of nowhere. "...Who are you, again?"
"Sorry for startling you, Torino-sensei," I said. "I decided to train in my Illusion Barrier, which was a good call because the first thing I did wrecked this building."
"That's nice, whoever you are." He yawned. "I'm tired. I think I'm gonna go to bed after I put these away."
"Oh, I thought you'd want to spar some more..." I said.
He handed me a bag full of packages of frozen taiyaki. "That's nice, kid. Wanna help me put away the groceries?"
"...Did you only buy taiyaki?" I asked. Observe told me the other grocery bags only had taiyaki in them, too... It was a good thing The Gamer meant I didn't need to eat, I guess...
"Don't be silly, Toshinori!" he said with a goofy grin, then produced a lollipop. "I got this for you, young man!"
I took the lollipop. "Thanks, I guess..." I put it in my mouth. It was green apple, not my favorite flavor but at the same time it wasn't my least favorite flavor. He probably picked it because of my hair... I checked the fridge when I put the taiyaki in the freezer. He had a wide variety of food, a lot of it healthy but also a lot of sweets, too. I guess he just really felt like getting taiyaki. I felt his gaze on me while I checked the fridge. Maybe he was testing me by showing fake signs that he was senile?
"Good night," I told him when we were done putting the taiyaki in the freezer. "I think I'll train a bit more before I turn in for the night. I'll try not to stay up too late, though." That was kind of a lie, but one could argue that because The Gamer made it so I didn't have to sleep I technically couldn't stay up to late...
"Good night, Toshinori," he said with a grin.
xoxoxo
A/N: So yeah Midoriya already has experience enhancing his entire body at once with magical energies, so I figured we could skip the whole "I'm a taiyaki" bit and get straight to the Full Cowl with only some light scolding to jumpstart him.
Elemental list: Midoriya: Halitus, Dune, Rayne, Blaise, Juniper, Mifuyu, Raimon, Iggy, Sonia, and Claude Bakugou: Pyra and Leaf Tokoyami: Corvo Uraraka: Nebula and Ion Hagakure: Lucy Tsu: Bubbles Aizawa: Charlie and Cassiopeia All Might: Seth O'Scope

I've been playing RS for around 15 years. I have no skills at 99. What can I do?
(There’s a TL;DR at the end if you’re in a hurry) One thing before I address the question itself - wow. From the bottom of my heart, WOW. You’re here for longer than most of us, anon. Remember you can put us all to shame by incorporating any old holiday outfits into your fashionscape. If you weren’t into events back then, slap on the 15 years cape you buy from Hans - it’s far more impressive to see than another max or 120 cape. Overall, remember that RuneScape’s a game. It’s here for your entertainment. You don’t need 99s to enjoy your favourite aspects of it or make some money. Now - here’s a few things to keep in mind when deciding on a course of action: Levels of Interest - you have to ask yourself which 99s you want, and which skills you’re willing to put up with. Some people hate dungeoneering, some hate agility, there’s even a weirdo here and there who hates combat (me. I’m that weirdo). Consider which one you’d want as your first 99. This is a moment I wish I could come back to and change myself. Which untrimmed cape is most appealing to you? Attack? Prayer? Slayer? Fishing? Herblore? Agility? Maybe one I haven’t mentioned here that belongs to your favourite skill? Do you intend to keepsake the cape once you get it to keep that memory? Or would a couple of screenies be enough? If that doesn’t matter to you, test some exp rates in different skills and simply work towards the fastest one you find. Try two or three different methods for each skill you know you dislike and ask yourself if you can see yourself wanting to dedicate any time to those methods at all. The biggest/best known ones are on the RuneScape Wiki. It’s always worth a look. Remember you can alternate between them so even if you like something, there’s no shame in training other skills instead of, for example, jumping around on an agility course for too many hours a day in a row. Ask yourself why you want to max a skill - Is it about some specific skill you know you’d be proud of until the other capes are within your grasp? Is one of the skills speaking to you emotionally/represents some dream job you would’ve liked? Is it about the Fashionscape? If it’s any of those, that’s completely fine. Creating your own neat memory of the first skill you chose to master is a lot of fun and is an excellent reason to go for it. But if it’s RuneScape being too well known for the “CAPE” part of its name, that’s an old meme. Some people feel the need to level simply because Jagex is keeping some of its new content behind higher-level doors, which is annoying as it’s Jagex’s own doing but if it does play a role, please remember to take a step back and remember this is an unfair element of the game design that isn’t very friendly to those of us who don’t chase exp at all costs. You don’t have to feel pressured if unbalanced game design is a big part of what pushes you to “fix” something about your character that isn’t broken at all. Prioritize your health - If you have work/classes that you’re tired after, a physical condition (especially with your hands/arms/back) that prolonged sitting and clicking around may worsen, ADHD or any other mental condition that makes long repetitive/boring tasks you hate seriously affect your mental state, or even if it’s “just” annoying/exhausting, these things can build up, so avoid the methods. What people forget about runescape is that there’s always more than one way to gain exp in stuff. “wasting” exp by taking breaks or doing fun stuff is the most fun thing to do in this game. Take it from me, procrastinating hard enough to drop my gainz rate to negligible is one of the only reasons I didn’t feel a burnout with this game. Distractions&Diversions (”activities”) - Several skills offer quicker bursts of exp/bonuses that make gaining exp easier for a short while. Familiarize yourself with them. For Divination, there’s Guthixian Caches. For Dungeoneering, there’s sinkholes. For Hunter, there’s Big Chinchompa. For Agility, there’s the Serenity Posts in the Hefin district in Prif. For Mining and Woodcutting there’s shooting stars and evil trees respectively. For Farming and Prayer (with slight exp in Dungeoneering and Mining too) there’s Nemi Forest. There’s also the Wild Jade vine for slight Farming&Slayer exp. All of the above are dailies, some can even be done twice a day. There’s also the weekly Skeletal Horror for some Slayer&Prayer exp, and God Statues for Construction (and a choice between Prayer and Slayer), if you need it. There’s also the weekly Tears of Guthix that raises your lowest skill, Circus for Magic, Ranging and some Agility (thieving&firemaking depending on what quests you did). Remember you don’t need to do all of these in a day or a week. My goal wasn’t to overwhelm you or make you feel like you need to do everything, I just want you to be aware of your options. YOU choose the skill to get EXP in - Continuing with d&ds/ activities, there are some that let you choose which skill you want your exp to go to. There’s Penguin Hide&Seek, every week, Agoroth which does the same after you fight it, Troll invasion which gives you more exp in a skill of your choice once a month. There’s also the Jack of Trades Aura - the best Aura in the game - that gives you daily exp (more exp the higher your level and the better the aura tier). These (along with Nemi Forest) are the ones I’d recommend if you have limited time and can choose only a few activities. There’s also Stealing Creation, which allows you to use your points to choose from a not unlimited, but wide enough range of skills to give yourself bonus EXP in (unfortunately it DOES take a long time to accumulate points in this minigame, so only do it if you actually find it enjoyable and have time to spare). This brings us to- Bonus EXP - Notoriously given by Jagex daily from Treasure Hunter and usually used to diminish people’s suffering leveling the slowest skills in the game or bankruptcy leveling the most expensive ones, pick the skill or two you know you hate the most and dump all of the prismatic stuff you get into it. Alternatively, you can put it all in the one skill you want to get 99 in first. Proteans and training dummy crates are in the same category. You usually get a choice what you want to use them for. I recommend making it after you’ve seen which skills are easier or more difficult for you. If you’re taking a stance against the whole thing or are playing on an ironman account now, more power to you and feel free to disregard this. Still, Stealing Creation is also a source of bonus EXP as mentioned above. So you can always use that, too. Quests - if you don’t have all of the quests in the game complete yet, check the RS wiki for the Experience Rewards you get from quests. I added a link for your viewing pleasure. Usually Master or Grandmaster quests you haven’t finished yet would either give neat chunks of EXP that can level you up in a skill or two, or a “choose your own gainz” lamp. Some might have an added exp bonus post-quest after you’ve reached a certain level. Sliske’s Endgame (I know, I know, big yikes), The World Wakes and While Guthix Sleeps, Children of Mah and the last of the Myreque quests provide some of the best “choose your own EXP” in the game for their completion. Always worth taking a look, maybe you haven’t done one or two of them yet. Get another opinion - Talk to friends or clanmates. Ask them what methods they’d recommend for any particular skill. Training cooking? maybe they just found the one fish in the game that can be bought raw for relatively cheap today. Training Summoning? maybe your clan follows patch notes and hidden updates and they’ve noticed some monsters drop crimson charms more often. Training Farming? Many wonderful people would lend or give you breeding pairs of animals you can breed and raise at Manor Farm. Hell, I can give you some animals myself if you want them. Chinchompas are the cutest thing since baby geckos and I have breeding pairs to spare!
TL;DR
1. Choose the skills you have the patience, mental and physical health for or the one you want to get 99 in the most 2. Compare training methods for those skills, using the RS wiki and your friends’ advice. Feel free to try some and find out what works best for you. 3. Get to training. Remember to take lots of breaks or alternate between skills or methods when necessary. 4. Distractions and Diversions are your friends. Especially the weekly/monthly ones that give you the direct choice of skill to dump exp in (Penguin Hide&Seek, Agoroth, Troll invasion). Also, Jack of Trades aura. It adds up like you would not believe. 5. Dump your bonus EXP in either the first skill you want to max, or the one/s you know you don’t have the patience for training. 6. If all else fails, check your quest list for any grandmaster quests you haven’t done yet. Maybe training the skills you’re “missing” for these quests will give you some feeling of set goal in the meantime. The rewards will push you a bit closer when you’re done. 7. This is a game. At the end of the day, if anyone tries to shame you or bring you down for not having a 99 in some skill, Buy the most expensive seniority cape Hans will Sell you and let the cape-obsessed noobs know you have unlocked the most important aspect of the game: Having actual fun in it for more time than they have.

Learning to Grow
There's a scene in the 90's animated Spider-Man where Eddie Brock, the human host of the Venom symbiote, is lifting weights in his run-down New York apartment. He's shirtless, bench pressing what looks like an impressive weight. The camera runs over his arms and torso as he recites, between grunts, a litany of wrongs, imagined and real, that Spider-Man has visited upon him. There are brief flashbacks with each item on the list, played out semi-opaque in front of his sweaty muscular torso. As each one fades and we see him clear, his muscles appear to pulse and swell. He's getting bigger and bigger as the scene goes on, muscles engorging with each repetition, each up and down of the loaded bar he's bench-pressing.
This scene captivated me as a child. Any time this episode came up in re-runs I'd be glued to the TV, would find some excuse to go into another room and sneakily turn on a separate television, away from my family, even if it meant watching it on a smaller, less modern set.
I knew I loved muscle before I saw this scene. I even doubt this was the first time I saw a depiction of where muscles came from. This first aired in 1994. I would have been 11. Surely I knew muscles came from working out before I saw this. But it felt like some previously unconnected parts of my brain were suddenly wired together.
If you want to have muscles you have to lift weights!
*
My mom had two blue dumbbells at home. I think she bought them to use at the Step Aerobics class she went to every Thursday night in the gymnasium of the local elementary school, the same school I attended. They were 5 lbs each. I'm sure they would look small to me now. They looked big to me then.
They came with a folded up paper diagram of exercises you could do with the dumbbells. It featured a line drawing of an absurdly muscular man (these are FIVE POUND DUMBBELLS and he looks like a professional bodybuilder!), shirtless, wearing a pair of short shorts. Of course I was attracted to this line drawing. But I remember taking these little blue dumbbells and trying to use them to get bigger and stronger. I tried to use the piano bench to do chest flies. I did lots of bicep curls. I don't think I ever did anything for my back and my legs - classic clueless young man, only exercising the muscles he can see, the ones that look good in a t-shirt.
I didn't go about this in any regimented fashion. They were sporadic attempts. I didn't yet realize how frequently you had to work out to see results. I didn't realize how to organize a weightlifting session at the gym, how to program it to achieve hypertrophy (or, in lay terms, bigger muscles). I thought of it like it was a role-playing game, like if you lifted weights you'd add a little EXP to your STR bar, and eventually it'd level up even if you weren't systematic about it.
So of course I don't think mom's two blue 5 lbs dumbbells did much for me.
*
There was no commercial or public gym in my hometown, nor one within a 100 km drive. There were some private gyms, in people's basements and such. My little hometown, which had about 5,000 people living in it when I was in my early teens, somehow produced four provincial bodybuilding champions to my knowledge, including Newfoundland's only internationally successful professional bodybuilder to date. Fewer than 1% of the province's population. We certainly over-performed in this aspect.
And then there was me. Absolutely nothing to look at. But burning with a desire that I felt ashamed of, felt like I should keep it hidden. Bodybuilding was all around me and I didn't say anything, didn't give any indication that it interested me. Two of those four provincial champions were my next-door neighbours, one of them a year older than me, one of them a year younger than me. It never occured to me to even try to train with them.
I was an awkward nerd. I knew I was gay. I hadn't told anyone. But bullies called me every word you can call a gay kid, because, well, they were bullies.
So I didn't connect with the budding bodybuilders around me. I never lifted in one of the basements where so many successful bodybuilding careers began.
I did pushups sporadically in my bedroom and hoped it would be enough.
Of course it wasn't. Forcing the body to build more metabolically expensive muscle tissue than it absolutely needs is one of the most difficult things to do. A few pushups in your bedroom and a protein-poor diet (I was vegetarian but I wasn't one of the "good kind" who research proper diet) won't cut it.
*
In my second term at University, the Field House opened. This was a new athletic facility. There was some controversy in student circles that we were all being levied a $40/semester fee to pay for the Field House - but in return, we all had access to the facility. We just had to show our student card.
Stress, bad eating, and a post-exam bout of mononucleosis had left me about 145 lbs at this point. I'm 6' tall. There was no muscle on me to speak of - though skinny, I had no abs, no definition in my arms and legs. My arms measured 10" around.
So, although all my leftist friends were angry about the Field House levy, I was secretly happy about it. Finally, I had access to a gym.
I didn't research what to do. I didn't ask for help in making a plan.
For weeks, I went in and ran on the treadmill.
I remember an article by another gay writer about body image, muscles, and exercise. He describes running on the treadmill while dreaming of himself as finally having that muscular body he's long wanted to have.
Now, I want to give the guy a shake and ask him what the hell he's doing on a treadmill if he wants muscles. That's like practicing piano and hoping it'll make you a better cook. But back then - I was that guy.
*
There was a little alcove in the Field House next to the cardio room that had some air-powered resistance machines. I started to use those. I doubt I used them well. No one taught me form. I didn't look it up. This was 2002 - YouTube, a great resource for this kind of thing, was years away.
But it was better than nothing. My diet, still appalling and low in protein, did get a little better as my palate expanded and I learned, on a semester in England in 2003, that I liked and could prepare chicken and fish.
My arms were 12" around. This is still small. It's nowhere near Eddie Brock. But it's better than 10".
*
I was like a timid deer slowly being tamed. Toward the end of my undergraduate degree, I began going to the Strength and Conditioning Centre, in the basement of the old Phys Ed building, where the actual lifters and bodybuilders on campus went.
But I was not yet either of those things.
I was still ashamed of my desires, couldn't bring myself to ask anyone for help, to acquire the practical knowledge I needed if I was ever going to achieve the kind of progress I wanted.
So even though there was a freeweight section full of huge burly men lifting impressive weights, I kept to the machines and the dumbbells. Lateral raises (probably done badly), cable flies (probably done badly), tricep pushdowns (probably done badly), dips and pullups (almost certainly done badly), lat pulldowns (I only ever felt these in my forearms). I never did a bench press. I never did a squat. I don't think I even knew what a deadlift was.
I ate like I was lifting big weights and having gruelling workouts, though. So, in other words, I got chubby and my muscles more or less stayed the same, after those newbie gains earned in the alcove of the Field House with the air-powered machines. I did not look like I lifted weights. I certainly didn't look like a bodybuilder.
*
My mid and late 20s were full of periods where I had no gym access. I ran during those times, every second day. I got fitter, my body firmed up, I felt better. I was also physically suited to middle distance running. But I was smaller, during those times, and I wanted to be bigger.
When I did have gym access I continued to lift poorly, without doing any compound movements (bench, squat, deadlift, overhead press, etc). And I ate to grow, but it was a lot of low quality food. So, during those times, my body got softer. I told myself I was bulking, but my muscles didn't get bigger. My arms were still about 12" or 13", depending on which of these two modes I was existing in.
I still lived in dread of someone discovering how much I wanted to be a huge muscular freak. How I fed my imagination on a steady diet of enormous bodybuilders, folders with thousands of jpgs saved from the internet, treasured memories of the rare times I'd seen a truly huge muscular man out in the wild, in person. Walking in the mall, lying on a blanket in the park, in the checkout line at the supermarket.
I would sometimes fantasize about finding some almost empty bottle of steroids in the locker room. Maybe just one or two pills left. At the time I erroneously thought all steroids were pills - I didn't know anything about steroids at all, at this point. I just knew they made guys big. In this fantasy, I would take the one or two pills I found, and it would make me slightly more muscular than I was. Perhaps 5% more. And that would be enough to make me happy without anyone realizing anything. Of course, it doesn't work that way.

I wasn't entirely clueless. In 2009, I started a PhD at the University of Toronto, and had access to its excellent gym facilities. By then I knew I had to do compound movements like bench press and squat. I started to learn how. I didn't seek out help, though, and I definitely should have. Also, a PhD is very demanding on your time. I was following a "split" (how you organize your workouts through the week) appropriate for someone lifting 4-5 times a week, but I was lucky if I got in 2 or 3 times (which, frankly, isn't enough to see much progress regardless of your "split"). 10 or 12 days would go by between chest workouts, between back workouts, between leg workouts.
I suppose I made some progress. Not much. I may have deluded myself into thinking it was more than it was, because I had been going to the gym, in some capacity, for 7 years, and I wanted to have something to show for it.
In early 2012, me and my then-boyfriend drove to his father's in South Carolina. I had just turned 29. I was planning on using the fact we were traveling to buy steroids online. I was paranoid that my IP address could be tracked if I did it at home and it would be safer to do it from some hotel room in Pennsylvania.
I realized, when in a hotel room in Pennsylvania trying to buy steroids online, that I didn't know enough about any of that to actually go through with it. I hadn't done my research. Looking back, my naivete is laughable. Now, if I encountered someone like the person I used to be trying to buy steroids, I would try my best to discourage them for a large number of reasons. One, you, past Michael, clearly don't know how to train and eat to grow; that being the case, all steroids will do is upset your endocrine system's natural balance and increase some health risks without actually giving you the benefits you want. Secondly, you don't know a thing about them. What kind are you going to buy? The answer better be testosterone enanthate or testosterone cypionate; test only for a beginner's cycle. Do you know proper injection technique? Don't even think about an oral-only cycle! Do you know what an AI is? It's an aromatase inhibitor, a drug that prevents most of the negative side effects people associate with steroid use, which ironically come from elevated estrogen, a side effect of elevated tesoterone - you did know that, didn't you? Do you know what PCT is? It's Post Cycle Therapy, drugs people take once they have finished their cycle of steroids to help restart their body's natural hormone production, which is disrupted by steroids. You knew steroids would shut down your natural testosterone production, right?
Luckily, I realized I wasn't ready, and didn't go through with my plan. I don't know what I was thinking. I mean, did I think I could just type "buy steroids" into google? OK, yes, you can actually do that, but it's not a good idea. There are plenty of people out there willing to make a quick buck selling snake oil to idiots like me, and even if they sold me legitimate gear, I wasn't ready for it and had no idea how to use it safely and responsibly, as outlined above.
*
In January of 2013, my parents, always solidly middle class, suddenly became very wealthy, and they passed some of this on to me. I had never made more than $25,000 in a year, and suddenly twice that was sitting in my bank account, with more to come.
One of the things I splurged on was a DEXA scan. It cost $125. You lay still on the bed of a device, and a mechanical arm slowly passes over your whole body twice. It takes about ten minutes. it is the most accurate body composition scan currently available.
I wanted to know how well my efforts in the gym had paid off.
Not at all, it turned out.
I was 184 lbs. This was in the "normal" BMI range for someone 6' tall. But I was 25.1% bodyfat. For a man, obesity is considered anything over 25%. I was the opposite of a bodybuilder. Bodybuilders have obese BMI but very low bodyfat percentages. I had normal BMI but an obese bodyfat percentage.
My lean body mass was only 138 lbs. If I was lean like a bodybuilder, I wouldn't even weigh 150 lbs. I had been going to the gym for 11 years and I had almost nothing to show for it - maybe 10 or 15 lbs of muscle gained from the underfed just-over-a-bout-of-mono 19 year old who first stepped into a gym in 2002.
This was a kick in the pants. Luckily it motivated me. I reformed my diet. No more pizza and burritos except as very occasional treats. Cut way way way back on the booze. Running in the morning every second day, lifting weights every day I didn't run.
I got married in June. I weighed 170 lbs and my bodyfat was down to 19%. I was losing fat without losing muscle, possibly because there was very little muscle to lose.
We went on an extended summer wedding tour, had wedding parties on both coasts. I relaxed a little but didn't give up fully.
And that September, enabled by having some money, emboldened by finally achieving a little success, spurred on by turning 30 and realizing that if I didn't start to do this right then my dream of being a bodybuilder would never come to pass, I hired a trainer.
And on our first meeting, I told him: I want to get as big as I possibly can.
And he said let's get to work.

Level 8
How’s it going fam? Everyone doing okay? Are you enjoying your weeks? Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

Master List here or search the tag Ikesen AFK
Warnings: None
Happy Reading, T~
Level 8
It was so late, but you couldn’t care less. You’d deal with being tired tomorrow at work if it meant you scored an extra $500 from this tournament. Sure, the chances were slim, but it wasn’t impossible, and you would hold onto that. There were only sixteen of you left; with a light at the end of the tunnel, you grew more and more giddy.
Sixteen to eight; Eight to four. This was happening, you were really in the final four of this whole thing. Hell, even if you didn’t win this, you had gained some major EXP, and when this was all said and done, you’d be able to head to the square for a class upgrade. You barked out a laugh at the thought of the look on your friends' faces the next time you all got together for a party raid.
The tell-tale buzz of your control helped you to stifle your giggles just a tad; the battle was beginning, and for once, your opponent was charging at you. You doubted he was that fast, and when he landed a hit, you knew it had to be luck. Aggravated, you equipped your Killer Lance hoping to get a critical and end this battle quickly.
Your plan seemed to work for a little bit. From what you had gathered, this one-eyed jackwagon had won the lottery on luck stats, you never missed critical hits, but here you were, shouting at your television as he somehow managed to avoid your fourth critical swing. You could do this; taking a deep breath, you regrouped and centered your character on the field. Sure he was a higher class than you, but it shouldn’t matter too much, despite his impressive luck skill he was just another Hero with a sword.
At least that’s what you thought until your screen flashes red, and you watched your health bar tank. “What the…?” The question died on your lips at the same moment your character’s HP hit zero.
“AN AX?! WHERE IN GODS NAME DID HE GET AN AX??” Your voice echoed through your empty home as you flew into a tizzy. So close, you had been so close, and he pulled out an ax?
“Balls.” You protested, finally putting your controller down as you watched the final kill over again. There went your shot at $500. Defeated, you sank back into your couch, letting your muscles unwind from the tension you had been unknowingly carrying.
The bell chimed, and your character was grayed out on the screen, a boldface “Loser” branded over your avatar before your consolation prize money funneled into your account. It may not be real-life currency, but you’d take in-game money over nothing any day. With a sigh, you headed back into town to the blacksmith to fix all the weapons you had used in the tourney followed immediately by a stop to the armament shop to buy that Brave Lance you’d been eyeballing recently.
Weapons fixed and pocketed you headed towards the item shop to look for a new seal. You were well above the combat skill threshold for the Pegasus Knight class, and you were literally squirming in your seat as you purchased the good. This particular one was labeled as an intermediate seal, a step above the advanced on Sasuke had bought you nearly two months ago.
Quickly, you scrolled through the menu before clicking equip and use. Triumphant music played through your speakers as your avatar was quickly engulfed in bright white light that dissipated into sparkles before she emerged on a trusty new flying steed and shiny metal armor. With a smile on your face, you left the item shop and headed towards the center of town. You were planning on doing a quick item run before bed when a message bubble popped up onto your screen.
*OneEyedDrag0n has requested to be your friend. Do you accept?*
Warily you looked through his stats, wondering how you knew this person and where they had even gotten your username from. Either way, they weren’t terrible. Even had pretty decent stats, with a shrug, you hit the ‘Yes’ option on your screen and waited.
OneEyedDrag0n → Hey there, Kitten. ;) You’re a pretty good fighter, thought I’d see if you wanted to join me and some friends on a few quests.
Uh...hi? Where exactly do I know you from? ← WildCyt0m3try
OneEyedDrag0n → What?! You’re saying you don’t recognize me! I’m hurt, lass. And here I thought I’d made an impression on you earlier.
You nearly threw you controller when you saw the avatar from your most recent match march himself into the square and straight up to you.
YOU! ← WildCyt0m3try
OneEyedDrag0n → Ah, see? I knew you’d remember me! So about that offer? We could really use someone like you on our team for this quest that’s coming up. Wanna join?
Quite the charmer, aren’t you...I mean, maybe? ← WildCyt0m3try Does everyone on your team know how to pull annoyingly strong weapons they shouldn’t have out their asses? ← WildCyt0m3try Cuz that’s a skill I think I could use. ← WildCyt0m3try
OneEyedDrag0n → We do. If I said I could get you a bow, would that persuade you to join us?
Maybe ← WildCyt0m3try Probably ← WildCyt0m3try Yes... ← WildCyt0m3try
OneEyedDrag0n → Atta girl! Welcome to the team lass, happy to have you! Our first raid is tomorrow night. See you at 9 sharp!
Without even giving you a chance to say no, this new teammate of yours had logged off. You stared at your message board blankly as you processed what had just happened. With nearly nothing left to do in-game, you saved, just to be sure, and powered down your console. At least tomorrow night would prove to be interesting if nothing else.

Caught in a Blind. Chapter 5: Stretch.exe Has stopped working
All Stretch wanted to do was to check on Edge. He wasn't expecting this.
**Caution with descriptions of Injuries and, well, Red's humor may not be in good taste for everyone**
Also Sorry for the long wait, got a bit busy with life and minor writer's block.
AO3
Last Chapter Next Chapter
The next few days passed rather uneventful. Lots of food and rest, almost like a vacation with Blue overly fretting over him. His bones no longer felt like lead and he was beginning to feel energetic. After convincing his brother, Stretch was up and walking over to the door of their guest bedroom. After a classic nails and a haircut knock, Stretch waited for a gruff, “come in” before opening the door and stepping in. “hey, Red, how’s...” Stretch stopped in his tracks once he got a good look inside. There on the bed was Edge, unconscious and bandaged from head to toe, his left arm and both legs in casts. Pale red magic glowed over the bruises around Edge’s face, tracing along the bandages, what little magic the injured skeleton had was trying to heal the multiple wounds. Two IV bags hung above the unconscious skeleton. A maroon glowing bag contained the concentrated raw magic that was gifted from Blue. The line going directly to Edge’s soul, conveniently covered by the blanket. It was a breath of fresh air to hear that Edge’s magic was accepting the concocted mixture of magic of Blue and the Undyne from Underfell. The bag looked half empty, the slow integration potentially aiding in giving Edge the chance to gain the raw magic he lost.
The second bag, a thick and rich crimson that could only be marrow, ran a line to an uncomfortably large needle that bore right into the bone of Edge’s right ulna. Marrow, the life support of a Skeleton monster. The current bag wasn’t going to be enough to completely replace what Edge lost but would help while his body produced more as he recovered. Blue’s already is talking about possibly donating his own as well.
From what Blue had told him, Stretch already knew Edge’s injuries where server, but it was another thing seeing them for the first time. “tsk, take a picture, it’d last longer.” Red’s voice pulled Stretch out of his stupor. Stretch mentally shook his head before closing the door and walking towards the bed. “is nice ta see ya up an’ ‘bout, honeybun.” “thanks… how’s he doing?” Stretch kept his voice low, standing by the bed, unable to keep his eyelights off of the unconscious monster. “eh, out of any danger. he’s woken up a few times but the meds and healin’ magic keeps him loopy. he’s just been sleepin’, which is good, he needs it.” Red sounded tired as he shifted in his chair. Stretch looked down, noticing the shadows under his sockets. Stretch wondered when he last slept. “you did good kid. got him home.” “heh, i can’t take all the credit, Edge lead me back most of the way. he fucking saved my life. least i could do was to get him home.” Stretch sadly smiled at Red who only hummed back. Red rubbed at his face, giving out a sigh. “do me a favor, watch him for a bit, need to step out.” “yea, no prob. take your time, you look a little bone tired.” Stretch chuckled. Red chuckled tiredly “you have no idea.” and with that he slid off of the chair and walked out of the room, leaving the door ajar.
Stretch took a deep breath before looking back down at Edge, taking a closer look at the injuries he sustained during his rescue. Blue had given Stretch the low down, but now he can see it all himself.
Edge sustained most of his injuries to his left side of his body. A few minor cracks to his skull that would heal over but had definitely threatened the socket. Like Edge really needed more scars to that socket.
The bones of his left arm and wrist had cracks and minor fractures, as if he used it to block a force. His clavicle was separated where the ball joint of his humerus had been popped out of the socket. A pang of guilt hit Stretch as he thought of his attempt to help Edge to his feet.
Three broken and two cracked ribs, it was a wonder Edge struggled to breathe only at the end of the journey. His pelvis had a few cracks in it, nearly breaking the ischium. He was lucky with his spine, a few inflamed disks but nothing broken or ruptured.
Traveling down the the right femur a wicked fissure fracture where the knife had been, nearly going straight through the bone had it been any longer. Blue mentioned their luck that the knife wasn’t poison, which tends to happen in Underfell. Blue also mentioned that it was the site Edge’s marrow had bled most out of. There had to be a lot of force for the knife to go that far, more than just a stab and if it was when he dropped Edge… Stretch soul clenched at the thought.
Then came the fibula and the tibia on the left leg, both with a spiral fractures and the patella was not where it was supposed to be. Just remembering feeling the ankle’s positioning made him shudder. Apparently there were a few dislocated bones there too. Stretch hugged himself, thinking of the mess of injuries.
Stretch jumped at the sound of a groan. Stars, why was he so jumpy?
Edge’s browbones crinkled as he slowly began to wake up, blinking slowly. Stretch wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do, but it seemed Edge may have murmured something. Stretch leaned forward, to try to hear what the fell monster had tried to say, when those hazy crimson eyelights landed on his face.
“Beautiful.”
Stretch eyes widen in surprise. That wasn’t what he had expected at all. Just as he didn’t expect Edge’s uncasted hand shooting up and grabbed him by the front of his shirt, only to pull him down into one hell of a passionate kiss, Stretch was thrown off balance, as he struggled not to fall onto the surprisingly strong, injured skeleton. Luckily it didn’t last long as Edge’s strength faded quickly. As Edge slid back to the bed, Stretch watched the content, pleased smile shift to a sadden forlorn smile, Stretch never wanted to see that despairing look on him again. As his eyelights drifting away from Stretch, Edge let out a resigned sigh. “It’ll Never Happen.” Slowly those sockets fluttered closed and Edge’s breathing evened out once again as he drifted back to sleep. Stretch brought his fingers up to his mouth, lightly touching where Edge had planted that kiss. ‘did he just…”
Stretch felt his soul freeze at the growl from the doorway. “mind tellin’ me what yer doin’ wit my brother.”
Stretch spun around, his hand flew behind his back as if hiding something, facing Red. Those eyelights darken as he glared at Stretch, the bag from Grillby’s crinkled in his grip. Magic and intent crackled in the air. “i, uh, um, i.” Ah, words of eloquence, next he’ll spout poetry. “think ya can take advantage of my bro while he’s doped up on pain meds?” Red’s voice was low and dangerous as he slowly stalked closer to him. Stretch’s soul pounded in his chest.
“no, i, i mean, its not....” Stretch feels the bed at the back of his legs preventing him from backing away from the advancing fell monster.
“ya know what happ’ns to those who mess wit my brothra?” The growl that rumbles from Red’s chest is low and threatening, Stretch could feel his metaphorical throat close as Red loomed up at him. He gulped.
“It’s not what it looks like… if anything he took advantage of me!” Stretch squeaked, hands up in a plea for mercy.
A bark of laughter and a snap of magic as intent vanished without a trace. “ah, yer great to fuck around wit’. the look on yer face. oh that was priceless.” Red laughed as he reclaimed his chair.
“what?” Stretch crumpled with shock and relief. ‘what just happened?’
“saw the whole thing, yer good. told ya he’s been out of it. probably thought it was a dream.” Red glanced over at Edge, Stretch followed his gaze. Edge looked to be content, almost peaceful in his sleep. “ah good one at that.”
Stretch turned a confused look at Red. “does… does Edge li... does he have a cru… is he infatuated with me?!” Stretch’s hands flailed as his mind tried to process what just happened, first pointing to Edge then to himself as he was filled with disbelief of the question he had just asked.
Red leveled an amused gaze at Stretch before taking a bite of his burger, taking his time to chew before speaking with the mouthful. “ain’t my peace to tell.”
Stretch threw up his hands in the air before running them down his face.
“let me level wit ya.” Red took an unusual serious tone, causing Stretch to focus on him.
“once we got Edge out of immediate danger and that mask shit off ya. i had to trace back ta where ya were attacked, found that the marrow didn’t start completely spillin’ out of mah bro til part way thru yer walk, i’m guessin’ ya fell or somethin’. recalibrated that trap you walked thru. cleaned up yer trail.” Red took a bite out of his burger, motioning for Stretch to sit down at the foot of Edge’s bed.
Stretch glanced at the offered spot before sitting, making sure to steer clear of Edge’s legs.
“there’s no point in sayin’ that this could ‘ave been prevented. so i’m gunna skip that part. what happ’n happ’n. let me fill you in on somethin’s.” Red continued to stuff fries in his mouth, before he took a swig of mustard.
“my bro. he’s tactical. he plans ahead, he sees ‘alf a dozen moves in any givin’ situation. he’s always thinkin’. i’ve seen him fight so many times, i can read his fights in the snow.” Teeth sunk back into the burger, not once but twice before Red gave Stretch the mercy of continuing. “ta say my brother was distracted is an understatement. ya tale ‘verses have him all worked up.”
Another bite and a short laugh. “He’s always been doing what he hopes is best fer the underground. endin’ fights wit’ his mere presence if he can. trainin’ those who are weaker ta defend themselves or escape. doesn’t kill unless he has ta.”
Another bite and a swig of mustard. “so he’s got it in his head ta better himself. he’s worried about gainin’ LV, findin’ ways to ‘void EXP. not wantin’ ta show this side of our lives. he’s doin’ things differently and this ain’t the first time it’s nearly got him or someone else killed. this time is just the worst one.”
Red finished off the burger, licking his fingers. “it should have been an easy an’ clean fight, ya know.” Red grabbed a fist full of fries and engulfed them, watching as Stretch wrung his hands. “He didn’t need to get hit either.” Stretch gave a worried glance at Edge then back at Red. “he wasn’t in line with the spiked log that is released when that trap was triggered, but from what I could tell, yer was.”
Stretch flinched a bit at Red’s words, fingers gripped and dug into the side of the bed. “wait, you’re saying that…”
Red eyelights met his, stern and steady. “he ran in front of the log to block it from hittin’ ya.”
Silence filled the room as that statement was left to sink into Stretch’s skull, eye sockets opened wide. Red finished off his fries and crumpled up the bag in his hands. Stretch swallowed harshly before looking back at Red.
“what I suggest for the future.” Red rubbed his grease coated hands over his pants. “lay off of his LV, ya seem to affect him the worse about it. ya don’t understand our world and what we hafta do to survive it. ya don’t know ta sacrifices he’s had ta make. ya don’t even know him.”
Red slid off the chair and grabbed the mustard. “do me a favor and keep an eye on him. i need ta get some sleep. just need to make sure nothing goin’ in him ends up not reactin’ well, project some nice feelin’ if his dreams goes south and shit. don’t need him flailin’. He ain’t goin’ anywhere, so ya should be alright, just holla if anythin’ happens, ya?”
Stretch nodded as he watched Red walked over to the door, giving his pelvis an obligatory scratch before he reached for the door knob. He paused at the door frame before letting out a sigh, an invisible weight settled on his shoulders. Red’s voice was unusually soft, “Stretch, one more thing.” A breath of a pause before a glimmer of crimson eyelight peaked over the shorter skeleton’s shoulder. “Whatever ya plan on doin’ wit’ him, go easy on him. whatever that is, he’s never dealt wit’ it before. i ain’t gonna threatin’ ya if ya hurt him. but if ya toy with my bro, what ya saw earlier, that’s yer warnin’.”
Red closed the door, ending the tension and leaving Stretch alone with Edge and his thoughts.

How I fused an overpowered Arsene
I had people ask that if I did this to please post about how. So, here goes!
To start, you’re going to need a ton of cash (I’d estimate I sunk about 3,500,000 yen on my Arsene, probably more). Ranking up the Sun confidant gives you a skill that allows you to ask for more money when negotiating with a shadow, so that’s probably worth your time. Additionally, depending on the skills you want to inherit and your current compendium progress, you might have to fuse some high level personas. In that case, maxing out the Strength confidant is also a good idea. However, by far the fastest way to get cash is to confuse mementos targets. This page tells you if a target can be confused and if so, just keep confusing it and letting it drop cash. If you have an sp adhesive you can drag this out endlessly.
You will need the Gallows fusion (Unlocks on 6/21), and, depending on the skills you want, also potentially the Electric Chair (Unlocks on 8/1). There are also a few skills that are only obtainable randomly through public execution, which unlocks sometime in September, I think.
So you’ve got your Arsene. Mine was a level one, freshly summoned. First off, decide what kind of build you want. I went for a magic build.
I looked here for a list of all skills in the game, and chose the 8 I wanted for my Arsene. Please note, not all skills can be inherited! Things like Morning Star or Die For Me are true exclusives to their specific persona and can’t be passed on in any way. Now that you’ve got your skills planned, it’s time to choose the stats you want to focus on. I chose Magic, Agility, and Endurance since I was going for a magic build. Now to actually start!
Let’s talk about stats. Each time your persona levels up, it gains 3 points in a stat. To optimize your Arsene, you obviously want to control the stat growth. Which you can do, using the Gallows. Using lower level personas as a sacrifice allows for more control over the stats, but will be more expensive in the long run. Stats max out at 99, with each persona only able to have 304 stat points total at level 99. However, both the Crystal Skull accessory and the gun Nataraja add +5 to all your stats (boosts from your gear do change your persona’s stats) - so, if you plan on using those you can get your persona’s stats to 89 through the gallows and still reach the 99 max thanks to the boosts from your gear. To control stat growth, just go into the Gallows menu. Choose your sacrifice, but before you confirm the fusion, look at Arsene’s stats: you’ll notice some of them are highlighted. The highlighted stats are the ones that will grow when the fusion is confirmed. You can change this by exiting, back to the screen where you choose the personas for the fusion, and re-entering the confirmation screen. When the stat you want is highlighted, proceed with the fusion. Assuming you are gaining only one level, there may be up to three stats highlighted. Remember, each level gives 3 stat points - so if one stat is highlighted, it will get 3 points. If two are highlighted, one of them will get 2 points while the other gets only one. If 3 are highlighted, each will get one point.
I ended up using the treasure demons for most of my levels, as they give a lot of exp and get a decent multiplier added to that (Crystal Skull was consistently giving me 14000 exp and a x5 multiplier, so I was getting more than 50000 exp for one fusion). Using personas that are of the same arcana as Arsene (fool) also gives a multiplier. You also get more exp if your confidant rank with Igor (the fool confidant) is higher.
You can only perform one Gallows fusion per day on any one persona. So, go register your Arsene with his new stats, discard him, and re-summon him. Now you can perform another Gallows fusion on him on the same day. Repeat after every fusion. It’s tedious, but it’s the only way to get around the limit.
During Gallows fusion, Arsene will randomly inherit one skill from the persona you sacrificed. If you want, you can sacrifice personas that have skills you’d like Arsene to have - towards the end, when I knew Arsene would only get one level from these sacrifices, I did this. It’s cheaper if you can get the skills you want and get levels from the same sacrifice. However, you don’t have to inherit the skill, so if Arsene tries to inherit something you don’t want, don’t worry. You can just say no.
If you plan on using both Crystal Skull and Nataraja, you can stop your stat growth at 89, giving you more points towards other stats. If you plan on using only one of the two, you can stop at 94. If you don’t plan on using either, you’ll have to go all the way to 99.
Now to move on to skills. Most of them are going to also come from the Gallows. First, summon or fuse a persona with the skill you’d like Arsene to inherit. Save your game. Sacrifice the persona. If the skill you want is not the one that’s inherited, just reload your save and try again. After Arsene inherits the skill you want through the Gallows, it’s the same as before: register him, discard him, and re-summon so you can work on the next skill. Remember: you can do this while also getting your levels and stats. This process is made easier if you can get some of your skills from cards. Some cards can be gotten through itemization. This site I mentioned earlier lists if there is a skill card available and if so, how to obtain it. Most higher level skills don’t have cards, though, so you’ll probably be save scumming the Gallows fusion alot.
And then... Ta da! You’re done! Arsene is overpowered now! Go crush some shadows or something!

Money Making Guide For F2P OSRS
There are diverse game methods of Old school Runescape, one of them being The Ironman. This game style is separated into three diverse sub-modes. Iron man, Ultimate iron man and Hardcore iron man.  RSComparison One thing that makes these game modes extremely troublesome is that hello don't allow you to exchange openly with some other players nor do they permit you to utilize the Grand trade. One of the iron man mode's most noteworthy downsides is bringing in cash. This guide will illuminate you regarding various approaches to earn substantial sums of money in the iron man method of Old school Runescape.
Yew longbows Alching (200k GP/H)
Basics:
- 70 Fletching
- 60 Woodcutting (to chop down yew trees)
- Bow string
- Knife
- 55 Magic
- High speculative chemistry runes
You need to have some yew logs to proceed with this technique for bringing in cash. You may need to hack down yew trees, as an iron man. After arriving at a yew tree, cleave it down and store them at the bank.Gathering two or three hundred or thousand is better, before making them into bows. At that point you'll need to head toward a bank and concentrate one blade to fill in the yew logs for the remainder of your stock. Utilize the blade with the logs and pick longbow, at that point fletch. Yew longbow (u) is the thing that the player will be left with. You need the entirety of your yew logs to be fletched into the longbow (u) yew. You'll even get a significant ton of fletching exp from this.
Second, you need your stock to incorporate 14 yew longbow (u) and 14 bow string and afterward converge by squeezing one on another. Procedure ought to be rehashed until the inventory closes. A ton of fletching experience will likewise be picked up. After getting all your yew longbows, you need to gather them all in note structure from the bank. OSRS Gold Take your runes out for high speculative chemistry and begin alching every one of them. Some mystical experience will be picked up and you'll see the cash pouring in also! You should average about 200k GP for consistently, which is quite useful for players in iron man mode.
Ecumenical keys Alching (180k GP/H)
Essentails:
- A weapon
- 55 Magic (high speculative chemistry)
Reccomended:
- Teleportation strategy
- Food
For players of a significant level Ecumenical keys are a significant thing. They empower the player to join any god wars prison supervisor room without expecting to arrive at the slaughter check. This can prompt expanded kills each hour. It has a popularity and can be effortlessly acquired. By murdering any beast discovered inside the cell of the god wars you will locate the ecumenical keys. Remember that this god wars cell is arranged in the wild so ensure you don't bring things of a high worth except if you're set up to chance them.
You need to find a good pace east side once you're there, to look for the little red imps. Since all beasts will drop the ecumenical key it's astute to battle these red imps just in case you're low level. After getting a key, recall that there will be a lower drop rate on the following key. This is the reason carrying some high alk runes with you is a smart thought to alch the keys when you obtain it. Or then again when you are given an ecumenical key, you can bank them. This is among the simplest strategies for bringing in cash for lower to medium level iron men. A normal of 180k GP every hour can be normal.
Murdering Chicken (50k/hr)

Vex’s Brief Guide to Eureka Pagos
Tumblr media
“Exactly what frozen ‘ell is this?”
Considering today is the release of Eureka Pyros, I understand a lot of people may want to catch up through Pagos! Having done a lot of Pagos I’ve accumulated a little guide I’ll share if anyone is interested. This guide isn’t complete but it’s what I could think of when I wrote it!
A further note is that there’s been two EXP buffs since Pagos’ release, meaning that FATE-training is very viable and it’s relatively quick to level in. Light gain has also been buffed. Always remember that first and foremost your goal is to level before you bother about light farming, this is relatively quick at higher levels!
Also, yes there are people doing Pagos, and it is definitely possible to catch up! Don’t be disheartened by feeling behind the curve, as there are people in the instance. Lots of people are in the same boat and want to catch up to get their hands on all the flashy new things in Pyros, I would advise not hesitating and getting in there sooner rather than later, as the older instances of Eureka see about 4 weeks of activity once the latest comes out. It is possible to catch up, and easily doable in that time frame without playing the place to death!
I hope this helps anyone who may need it!
The Elemental Level cap of Eureka Pagos is 35
You will get access to your mount after completion of the level 35 quest.
You need a total of 31 Frosted Protean Crystals, 500 Pagos Crystals, and 5 Louhi's Ice to get your relic weapon. Frosted Proteans are gained by bringing light from your kettle to the Crystal Forge.
Pagos Crystals drop from NMs, and yep the first FATE only drops 1, don’t be discouraged as the amount grows as the NM levels go up.
Louhi’s Ice is gained from killing the final boss of Pagos, Louhi, who spawns in the Northeast corner of the map, you have to drop off a ledge towards the easternmost part of the ice shelf. (There’s a picture of him below the cut)
When dropping off the ice shelves or cliffs, ALWAYS walk. There’s Frozen Dragons usually on the ledges you want to drop on to, and these will kill you, being ELvl 40
Your kettle only holds 9 crystals. Once you hit 9 you won't get any more light. Go to the crystal forge preferably at 8/9. (I’ve included what the kettle aether bar looks like below the cut!)
Aetherytes are at ELvl 21, 30, 32. These being central, northwest, northeast.
There are two FATEs which are always up: Down The Rabbit Hole, and Curiouser And Curiouser. These are not NMs. They're Bunny FATEs and on completion will award a random amount of people a Happy Bunny. Go into your Key Items and bind the Lucky Carrot to your bar, then use the carrot as you would an Aether Compass.
The NM FATE "Wobbler In The Dark" will NOT give you gold, ever. You get the same EXP as gold at silver, the reason for this is you need a crafted item called Hakutaku Eye Cluster to get gold. The only thing gold gives you is a glamour item called the Optics Hat from FFXI
Frozen Dragons aggro through sound, but not touch. RP walk past/through them or you'll die.
Nearly all plant mobs aggro through sound AND touch. Don't touch them or run past them if they're higher level. The Sankchinis in the main pathway up north count as plants, too. (I’ve seen them take many lives)
Ashkin aggro on low HP. They only appear at night.
Sprites aggro on cast. Cast too close and they'll kill you. Sprites only appear during their associated weather condition. I.E. Heatwaves spawns fire bois
Mutated mobs change element, drop around 2x-4x the EXP, and have a much higher light drop chance. Higher level mobs mutate more often. NM spawning associated mobs do not mutate. Mutated mobs drop Cold-Warped Lockboxes more often. Anubys and Frozen Dragons are the mobs of choice for farming these boxes.
There's no extra magicite in Pagos.
Chaining mobs increases the chances of them dropping a Cold-Warped Lockbox. These lockboxes drop rare things like /shiver
You nearly always want to be killing mobs which are 5+ levels higher than you.
Basic Map:
This is increeedibly basic for a map. Yellow crosses denote Quest Markers, Purple crosses denote NM FATEs, Pink circle denotes the location of Louhi’s Room, Blue circle denotes the location of the Crystal Forge, Red lines denote Ice Shelves/Cliffs.
Tumblr media
Kettle Bars:
There’s a few different types of light that fill your bar a different amount for each. These are: Feeble, Gentle, Bright, Brilliant. Brilliant will completely fill a bar or two.
Tumblr media
Louhi
He’s fine, frosted voidsent gentleman. His mechanic is ice cleave, he’ll either swipe left or right depending on the ability a la Larboard Starboard, though it’s called Dextrous (Right) and Sinestral (Left) Ice Cleave depending on which. Don’t be on the same side as the cleave.
Tumblr media
You can see the effects of ice cleave on both your facial expression and health pool below. It freezes you and gives you vulnerability stacks. Me being me, I made sure to get hit by them constantly because what even are directions??

Tales of Wind Guide
Tales of Wind Guide is another thing to enable you to improve at Tales of Wind. well the game is fun and has many element yet excessively centered in day by day occasion so I drop it cause I can't login at specific time and I miss Spirals money in there(Guild move/war/and so on) Idk it looks simply like another run of the mill anime gacha. It's practically similar to they are made in a similar processing plant like those Clash of Clans-ish games. The voice acting in this game is screwing frightful is there in any case to utilize Japanese voice acting without changing the language of the content?! In the gathering, Asura is the character who convey other gathering individuals yet troth to be told his maximum capacity is arrived at just when there is a Paladin in the gathering as well. Asura's abilities are: Ninja is a stealthy professional killer who controls the foes by consistent incapacitating strikes. He has an incredible evade chance so not at all like Asura, he is equipped for supporting the assaults for a better than average measure of time. While he is in stealth his basic strike chance is significantly expanded which implies that his double swords could deliver gigantic harm whenever utilized appropriately. Their astounding sturdiness makes them amazing for fledglings, just as veterans. In the correct hands, this class isn't just the most durable yet additionally truly solid since they can recuperate themselves to a degree. The Warrior can progress to turn into a Berserker or a Paladin. This decision is polarizing for the class since it radically influences its viability at specific jobs in battle. Paladins are simply cautious, with numerous choices to shield and mend themselves, while Berserkers are powerhouses that can destroy their adversaries however are significantly more delicate than their partner. Moreover, the apparatus upgrades are not restricted to explicit pieces since they move consequently when you swap them for other, better bits of rigging. For instance: on the off chance that you overhaul your gloves to +1, and afterward swap them for a superior pair, the new gloves will be +1 too without beginning the redesigning procedure sans preparation. On the off chance that your dress is the establishment of your character's capacity, the cards are the materials with which you will assemble the rest. By finishing certain difficulties and prisons in Laplace, you will get cards as a reward, which you can implant in your weapons and guards to expand their characteristics. As these are ordinarily testing particularly on the off chance that you need to be a decent cooperative person, don't depend on auto mode for these kinds of missions. In the event that you can stand to, try to shape or be in a gathering that speaks to each class and capacity all around ok as a full group with a tank, healer, and DPS has a greatly improved shot of making due than only an arbitrary gathering of classes. Make a point to recollect that group plays on a harder trouble setting can be unmistakably more testing than what you may regularly expect considering the general details of the adversaries as contrasted and a similar stage on solo play. By the by, these Clerics can change impressively in the wake of moving class. On one hand, on the off chance that they become Priests, their mending capacities increment significantly further, to the point where they can get familiar with a spell to give their partners power for a few seconds. Then again, on the off chance that they become a Ranger, they will learn numerous capacities for managing harm, while likewise keeping a portion of their mending aptitudes. More or less, Assassins are units with the most noteworthy harm potential in the whole game. You can dole out up to 5 Guardians however every watchman space will be opened by your most extreme level (fifth Guardian opening is opened at level 65). Gatekeepers are restrained when you use Monster Net on the beast egg. Beast Nets can be procured or purchased in a few different ways. Make sure to check your sack regularly and utilize each Monster Net you find. Like nearly everything in Tales of Wind, restraining a gatekeeper is additionally robotized so it will be simple for you to gain proficiency with the fundamentals. You may need to frame a group to have the option to do certain missions. The clever group discoverer alternative made this undertaking simpler. In any case, we encourage you to do them all day by day with the goal that you will be at the top! Garbage your corroded apparatuses when you show signs of improvement ones. To do as such utilize the Disassemble All catch which you will discover in your stock. The main things you focus on are cards. Regardless of whether they merit keeping or not is still dependent upon you to choose. They are anecdotal after all being in a dreamland. 1) Why accomplishes something being an "escape from the real world" mean it doesn't have minorities in it? Who is truly getting the chance to "escape" with media like that, and for what reason would they like to? 2) Diversity isn't constrained in. Assorted variety is only a practical default that makers have little motivation to stray from, similar to characters having noses in their countenances rather than on their elbows. At the point when it's absent, it has been constrained *out*. It feels like when I proceed to play one of the games from the prior web 20 years back, the old progressively inconvenient cell gathering instruments in them. It's charming, yet difficult to pay attention to with it being generally all autoplay and the unpleasant prison gathering. Hell the prison gathering is the main progressively confounded manual thing you do in the whole game, and it's the one thing that ought to have been simple and robotized. The reason gathering is how it is, so you can do different things inside a similar gathering its a mmo after all implied for players to meet up the dynamic of gathering you are searching for is arrangement in other sort of games like arpg and such you have to comprehend the class you are playing. What's more, you are contrasting auto pursue with auto playing truly? Ppl on auto pass on in cells except if they are route more grounded than the prison they playing which makes auto accommodating to help ppl out while you can do different things throughout everyday life, yet in the event that u arent above cell rec auto will get you killed. Auto pursue just encourages you get starting with one target then onto the next snappier, see when you are on auto pursue to somebody with a mount that moves quicker then you and they zone the auto pursue makes you zone with them and not need to hold back to get up to speed and enter making your group look out for you cause your mount isnt as quick as theirs. Each reforge expends bronze, iron, or mithril relying upon the rigging's level, and some Silverstar. When you click on the reforge catch, you will see the eventual details of your gear and on the off chance that you like what you see, at that point essentially click on the spare catch. There's not really any set in stone choices to make here yet first off, remember that each purpose of detail is a point towards an expansion in BR and commonly, you would need to have details that outcome to higher BR. The primary thing you will be required to do in (Tales of Wind) is to choose a class and begin your experience. It gets along nicely at offering various jobs to players with various ability trees and free reset for focuses.Commonly you won't have the ability focuses from simply leveling. You need to open the abilities window and utilize the Redeem catch. You're exchanging EXP for aptitude focuses with that catch. Focus on journey rewards since some should give you aptitude focuses. I THINK it's the one indicating saying you must be level 49 with 45 ability focuses. So don't try too hard when exchanging for aptitude focuses excessively. One of your better wagers so far is to be on in any event level 50 preceding exchanging for aptitude focuses. You can change a Warrior to a Paladin or a Berserker. Safeguard and managing Damage are warriors claim to fame. In this way, their subclass will be something related. The Mage can pick between a Pyromancer or a Frostweaver. Since this class has a place with casters, you will most likely arrangement a ton of harm and utilize some group control when looked with foes. The Cleric can either change into a Priest or a Ranger. Expert players may discover this class phenomenal as they can either mend or harm. Minister aptitudes are: Ranger is the help who uses a bow and bolt to disturb the foes and information of nature to toxic substance and revile them. He can recuperate or he can incur harm however he isn't in the same class as Priest or Mage. This advantageous class is most appropriate for solo playing in spite of the fact that it tends to be valuable for the gathering now and then. Officer does not exceed expectations in any job which makes him less alluring than a Priest however then again, he is absolutely independent. Those rewards will apply to your character. Additionally, this does not influence the watchman you have conveyed. The sent watchman does not need to be in the Guardian Array by any stretch of the imagination. For instance, despite the fact that "BigCat" is appearing in the above screen shot, it isn't the conveyed gatekeeper for this situation. Another 2 star watchman is conveyed because of it having a gathering expertise. In the event that by chance regardless you question the watchman getting technique depicted above, simply realize that "BigCat" in the above screen shot was a 2 star gatekeeper when it was picked up! It's nothing especially one of a kind, however there's a feeling of brotherhood here not exactly introduce in other versatile MMORPGs. That is much obliged, to some degree, to the gathering framework, which is somewhat of a blended sack. Most MMORPGs use matchmaking to rapidly place you into a comparative level and aptitude gathering. Story of Wind, rather, selects to utilize a gathering discoverer framework. This isn't innately awful, and really brings about groups feeling less like nondescript players. You can set messages for the sort of player or class you need and get the gathering that is directly for you, for example. The principle technique for this circumstance is in certainty to pause. In the long run your positioning will go down again and you can discover a lot simpler adversaries to play against. This can be seen as "extra gooey with no test" yet it works. Simply consider the way that you ought to consistently be going for the success to the exclusion of everything else. For those that need to attempt to continue onward, this is the place you need to make a genuine informed decision. There are adversaries on the rundown in which you can thrashing contingent upon your character's arrangement and your moves/strategies. With incalculable PvE, PvP, and GvG (Guild versus Society) modes, you can make sure there will consistently be somebody to battle with, or close by, in Tales of Wind. Other than the puzzling cells players can investigate, there are likewise in excess of 20 diverse easygoing exercises, including hustling, shooting, tests and so forth. Players can change their outfits and catch adorable mounts in this open world. What's more, above all one can meet the foreordained sentiment in this fabulous voyage! Go get hitched in Tales of Wind! Furthermore, following journey lines furnish you with significant things and materials you will discover much all the more testing to acquire from different sources. There are a few kinds of missions accessible in Tales of Wind yet first off, you should expect to achieve the principle journeys. Tales of Wind happens on Arlesdore, a dream landmass where evil presences seemed a large number of years prior. A few of these evil spirits, known as Calamity Lieges, were viewed as the most awful of all, and it's dependent upon the player to find reality behind their abrupt appearance so as to take light back to the world." As we noted at the time, Neocraft is going up by a Blizzard China organizer, and the game is promising four fundamental classes with two subclasses each, "spirit cards" that enable players to transform into beasts, PvE cells, PvP and GvG as well, in addition to a piece of sandboxy highlights. "Notwithstanding investigating strange prisons, players can partake in more than 20 diverse easygoing exercises, including hustling, shooting, tests and that's only the tip of the iceberg," the official statement says. "Players can change their outfits from huge amounts of choices and catch adorable however ground-breaking mounts in this open world. Autoplay is here and present however there's to a lesser degree an attention on it. The center, rather, is on joining forces up with different players and taking an interest in gathering occasions. You'll invest the majority of your energy in Tale of Wind scrutinizing the Kingdom tab, where the majority of the gathering substance is found. There's a genuine measure of this kind of substance on offer, and it gives a huge amount of remunerations. There are your ordinary prisons, which you can fight through to open the best gear and updates, PvP, and a flat out abundance of constrained time occasions, which furnish huge amounts of one of a kind ongoing interaction with tremendous gatherings of players. On the off chance that you just began to play the game and wind up in somewhat of a crunch understanding the essential ideas of the game or to some degree befuddled about what to organize or on the off chance that you played enough yet need to have a progressively proficient method for step up your character and expanding your BR, at that point our Tales of Wind Beginner's Guide can clearly enable you to begin directly on the game. Tales of Wind has 4 particular classes to browse and every one has increasingly concentrated occupation moves up to look over later on. He can mend after some time whole gathering or he can recuperate totally one character, he can rinse every single negative impact, award invulnerability for a concise period and he can resuscitate fallen partners. Great planning is of the substance so make sure to utilize your capacities when it is significant and does not depend on auto-play since it is pointless to spend abilities when everyone has the full wellbeing and it is far more detestable to not have the cooldowns when required. In the event that you be a Priest you will be a fundamental piece of any gathering all the time which implies that you will consistently host a get-together. Continuously go for the prizes with things first.Oddly enough and to the shock of many, Tales of Wind figured out how to create an upbeat medium! That is the missing part which caused objections about the Auto-play framework! In any case, before they can help you in the field, you should first "prepare" them by tapping on "convey" in the watchman menu. Besides, the watchmen that you keep on save can be prepared to the gatekeeper cluster in this equivalent menu. The rewards they award from this component will increment with the quality and uncommonness of the watchman, so it's in every case better to utilize your best critters for the cluster. The components that we've referenced in this guide are just a couple of strategies that you can use for improving your character in Tales of Wind. Next, cautiously take a gander at the aptitudes offering it has. The aptitudes that are indicating are going to in the long run discharge to your character as it increases levels. Those are the short rundown of the character's aptitudes showed when making a character. Usually, those abilities won't open as you foreseen! The most elevated suggestion is to evaluate the simpler characters Tales of Wind offers. This incorporates the berserker, the mage, and the officer. Every one can be ruinous, has a decent survival rate, and isn't hard to play. Warriors in this game are the inhabitant tanks, intended to withstand crazy measures of discipline and arrangement it ideal back to the foe. With sword and shield close by, this class spends significant time in group control aptitudes alongside different assaults that can harm everything remaining in his manner. Their fundamental capacities comprise of assaults to uproot their foes, paralyze them, and hurt everybody around him. In this sense, this class possibly feels comfortable when encompassed by various adversaries. Warriors are perfect for players who like to confront each test with their swords held up high.

Let’s...
Let’s finish this. (Undertale Let’s Play Part. 7)
I don’t want to go back home. I wish the game wasn’t soon to be over already. I want to explore more places ! But seems like I have no choice. ( ° - °)
Tumblr media
There’s only silence from now on, and no more quotes involving mice and determination when you hit a checkpoint. Quite the contrast with the visual and musical ambiance the game had till now. It’s solemn, and a bit melancholic.
I reach a place called New Home that’s in all points similar to Toriel’s house, except for the warm, homelike atmosphere. It’s quite drab and lonely in there.
Tumblr media
There are enemies but they don’t want to attack me. They want to tell a story.
Long story short, the King had two kids, his own son and a child that fell into the Underworld and that he and his wife adopted. He lost both of them because of bad luck and a horrible misunderstanding from the humans. The bedrooms full of dusty toys I visited were the children’s.
Tumblr media
:c
I suspected that Toriel’s maternal behavior towards my character was caused by something...
Tumblr media
I unlock the staircase, thanks to the items I find in the house, and... ah, finally, some light.
Tumblr media
And a Sans.
I think he will attack me, I’m ready for Megalovania to start playing, but no. He judges me, according to the EXP and LOVE I gained.
It’s not the first allusion to the Ancient Egypt I see in this game. First we had names such as Mettaton and Papyrus, and then there’s the soul, symbolized by a heart, that is judged at the end.
Tumblr media
Exp, which I thought meant Experience, means “Execution points”. And Love is an acronym for Level of Violence. Neat.
Tumblr media
Let’s see... I have not killed a single monster. I poked a few of them with my toy knife in the hope it would weaken them, and not even a lot, since the way they squeak when they get hit made me feel bad. Especially true for Woshua.
To think I wanted to try Genocidal mode at first, out of curiosity...
Tumblr media
I never thought I would be so happy to have someone telling me such a thing.
Sans explains that while it doesn’t mean I’m entirely pure and innocent, it means I refused to hurt anyone, and gained tons of actual love - the love of my friends.
He wishes me good luck, too, because now things are gonna get serious. Asgore is my next goal. If I kill him, I’ll be free, but at the cost of one life. If I let him defeat me, then he’ll take my soul to achieve his goal, free the monsters and destroy humanity.
Gee, there must be a way to find a compromise ?
Here he is. He’s taking care of his flowers. He smiles peacefully at first, until he sees me - a small child, that he’ll have to consider an opponent, and kill.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I’m sorry too, bro.
He asks me if I’m ready, if I don’t have any unfinished business. Ehh... hold on, there’s a room I didn’t explore.
Tumblr media
A crypt ?
Okay so we have coffins, obviously made for a mutant, a bronze, a gemini, a Jade-  -  - *KONKS SELF.*
I try not to see Homestuck allusions everywhere, but this game isn’t helping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPOOK. (o A o  )
Maybe I should have named my character differently. (o   o );;  I lass scamper the hell outta there and go back to Asgore.
Tumblr media
Nah...
Tumblr media
NAHSHDFKROJFORAINBOWDDKIHOMESTUCKJSKDIHD.
Tumblr media
Sorry.
King Fluffybuns suddenly turns into King Badass.
Tumblr media
Oh...
Tumblr media
Oh, no.
King Asgore was Betty Crocker all along. RUN, EVERYONE.
*konks self part.2*
Dude has destroyed the Mercy button. Undyne told me to talk to him, and so I do. I tell him I don’t want to fight him. He’s visibly troubled and conflicted, and his defense and attack lower. But after a while, he stops listening. Fight is the only option I have left. So...
So I die. ( x > x )
I mean, what else to do with a boss ?! Correction, what else to do with a boss AND reflexes such as mine AND a soul that moves super slowly ? Change the shape of my soul to a slug, and it’ll be the same deal. Asgore’s attacks are far from being the hardest to dodge, though. I mean, once you’ve dealt with Mettaton, everything seems easier.
But still, a bit of help would be welcome.
Tumblr media
Pssst, hey ! Remember when you killed me just now ? (- < °)
After a few unsuccessful rounds, I take a break. I heard people mention something about the Temmie Armor.
To get it, I’ll need to pay college for Temmie. It’s expensive as heck, and I only have a dozen Gold left. I never did that thing called “farming money” before.
Winning against a monster gives me gold, but the only monsters left in the game are way out of my league. I follow the advice of a frend ( (uwo) ) and go back to Tem village.
Time to scam the poor Temmie of her college funds.
I buy Tem flakes for 1G and resell them continuously. I get 2G for each.
At first it seems like a pretty long, frustrating and ineffective way of making money... But it works. It even becomes exciting. Tem will also buy Cloudy Glasses for 50 Gold, and the old turtle guy who sells them is just near. I spend one hour walking around and farming money, and soon I am rich ! RICH §§
Tumblr media
*COugh*
Rich enough to get not only the Temmie Armor and items to regain life but the MYSTERY KEY Bratty and Catty sell near the Inn. I hope it’ll allow me to see Sans’s room.
I go back to Asgore, with a bit of regret for leaving Waterfall, its music, its comforting ambiance and its mushrooms...
And soon...
Tumblr media
Look at that, he almost killed me again.
His will to fight is gone. He remembers about his dead son, the reason his wife left him (she wasn’t too happy that he wanted to kick the whole humanity’s ass because a few dumb people’s actions caused their son to die). Still, it’s hard to not feel sorry for the big guy.
...This game is 30% puzzles, 20% bunnies and 50% me feeling compassion for creatures that intended by all means to destroy me. ( o o);
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There, there.
Tumblr media
He’s touched. He wasn’t expecting me to have mercy for him after everything that happened. Truly he could have chosen a better way to deal with his issues. He had good intentions, and took the wrong decisions. But still, he feels regretful and I think he deserves a second chance.
He says that it seems I’ll have to stay underground for a while... But with all the friends I’ve made, it should not be too hard to deal with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes ! Perfect ! This is the compromise I wanted.
Not having to leave, and be reunited with my fluffy adoptive parents who both tried to kick my arse. Sign me the heck up !!
Tumblr media
Wait....
Tumblr media
...woh ??
Flowey kills Asgore, then starts making these scary faces, and repeats the discourse I heard the first time we’ve met...
Tumblr media
What the... Hey, isn’t this the True Pacifist ending ? The fuck is happening ?
*The game crashes.*

Pokémon FireRed Nuzlocke [Part 12]
Can we beat the game using Nuzlocke rules and only battling against trainers?
The current answer is leaning towards no. Still, we shan’t give up or in.
Tumblr media
Four badges in. Next stop?
Uh. Haven’t decided yet.
So things did not go what I would call according to plan with the Grimer. Ideally, it would have been a higher level than 30. It wouldn’t need me to hold its hand through a bunch of leveling. It would immediately be an asset. Life would be beautiful. Nothing would hurt.
Only it’s level 30.
Tumblr media
I have a Ground, Water, Electric, and Normal Type in rotation. Grass has historically been a problem, but it is much less of a problem with a Snorlax. Oak isn’t always the most useful, but he’ll be receiving a huge power boost come Surf collection.
Bark and Trunk are going to be wanting all the Attack EVs I can feed them. Sap is going to want Attack as well. And HP.
Its move pool is a huge plus, and I would be happy to have it available, but to make it available, a lot of switch training would have to happen. When Sprinkle went through that, experience gain dropped to a slow crawl. Sprinkle was only level 25, and at an even later stage in the game, but the approach taken with this round was intended to be geared towards a minimum of pokemon.
Other things to consider would be that in the first run, I lost two pokemon, and a lot of work went into making up for that. The two runs can’t be compared fairly with what levels to expect further down the road. ...I. think.
By the first Elite Four fight, Po was level 46. My highest level pokemon was 49.
It did not go well.
I need this one to go better.
Does it go better with Sap, or does it go better with maxing the heck out of the other four.
I really, really want to use Sap.
Having a status-reliant choice instead of a pure powerhouse makes me more comfortable with everything else. Minimize is good. Screech is welcome. Sludge Bomb is welcome. Acid Armor is welcome. Muk is a kickass thing to have available.
But I’m not sure splitting the exp is going to do me any favors this late in the game. Silph offers a lot of lenience, I guess, but. Cycling Road is going to go to Trunk. So is a lot else, and what doesn’t should help out Bark.
Five pokemon starts to be a lot.
Fuck.
I’m trying it out.
Sap, welcome to the team. Don’t die.
In happier news...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good job making it this far, buddy.
Route 16, what are we catching here today?
Doduo!
Sap, prove your worth by failing to kill it.
Tumblr media
Damn it, Sap. +123 to you and Bark. -_-
Siiiiiigh. I need 30 pokemon for the Itemfinder.
Now Trunk is just going to claim. As much of Cycling Road as possible. Bark will help when possible. ...Or do I want to go deal with Silph? Hey, past me, wtf is the best way of doing this nonsense?
..hm.
I’m going to do Silph for the sheer heck of it, I think. I don’t want to get as far as my Rival yet, but. I don’t know. I’m just not feeling Cycling Road right now. Video games are supposed to be fun, right? Let’s chase some damn fun.
And I don’t think I ever got my Route 7 thing. Let’s do that, too. Hi Growlithe.
Tumblr media
SAP WHAT THE HECK. WE WANTED THAT.
Did I misremember how much damage Sludge does???
...
Oh.
Yes.
Yes, I did.
I very much did.
...+130 to Sap and Acorn. -headdesk-
With that in mind, actually, Sap, you and Bark want to try your hands on the dojo next door to Sabrina? Trunk can’t touch any of those guys thanks to the Super Effective problem.
..And Bark can barely touch any of them thanks to her low Defense.
Yeeeeeah, after that short experiment, we’re just gonna go straight to Silph. Where the Rockets are not a thing to be too afraid of.
Tumblr media
Beautiful building.
Hellscape place.
...
I don’t wanna do this, either. Uh. South of Lavender, maybe?
Out of order ALL the things.
Route 13, let’s catch a thing.
The thing is a Venonat! We now wait and watch to see if it will end up dead like other recent catches for totally unpreventable reasons.
Caught!
Its name is Oak.
Route 14, in the middle of all these trainers we’re beating down largely out of order.
...Gloom’s technically not viable because Oddish and species clause, but screw it, it’s not going to be used, I’m too lazy to look up what else is here, and I just want this part done and over with. I know that’s really bad form. but. I am not a rules lawyer. once, maybe. not anymore.
Caught. Its name is Oak.
So far with trainers, the way I’m keeping my sanity with exp division is that the Bikers go to Trunk, and Bark and Sap get the Bird Keepers.
It is slow and tiresome. I do not care for thinking when I am playing my video games.
We’re in Route 18 now, and doing the same nonsense to a Raticate. This is it. This is the point. This is where I stop caring about any of the rules except the no grinding thing. Everything else is irrelevant.
Tumblr media
Bark ffs. Stop. Sigh.
+414 exp. Route 18 officially dead.
(Also, this looks like I should have known that she would kill it, but Bark still knows Mud Slap. It does as much nothing as anything on my team can. Still not enough nothing when critical hits are involved.)
Good Rod get so that Fuchsia might have a happier ending.
Back in the realm of completely legal catches, we have a Poliwag!
Throwing a Great Ball proves the best strategy. In that it works. Poliwag get! Its name is Oak.
In other, trainer-related news, Sap hits 34 and learns Acid Armor.
We have also cleared out the section of trainers that is not Saffron and not Cycling Road that comes pre-Koga. Naisu.
-time passes-
So, post-Cycling Road, Trunk is level 41, Bark is level 42, Sap is 35, Oak is 37, and Acorn is 40. I think what makes the most sense in terms of safety is to go clear out the Silph building, then deal with the dojo and assorted Gyms.
Unfortunately.
I hate Silph Co.
So, so deeply.
Deep breath time.
Oh, wait, I want Oak to have Surf first. Never mind, we can still delay this party!
Tumblr media
Let’s do it.
Hey, and while we’re at it, we have a chance at a Parasect!
-gasp-
We caught it!
Its name is Oak.
Tumblr media
I don’t remember if it was me or someone I knew, but as a child, I have distinct memories of the timer flat-lining just a handful of squares away from talking to this guy. It filled me with enough sadness that I think maybe I was the one having the issues.
The Safari Zone is a lot harder when you have no idea what you’re supposed to do or where you’re meant to go.
Oak learns Surf!
We also give the Warden his teeth back, so Strength get.
I’m gonna see about catching a Route 19 thing. Due to it being something I can do that doesn’t involve the Silph building.
Yes, a Krabby. As we learned from Heero’s run, they make for excellent HM slaves.
Caught!
Its name is Oak. Sadly, I think it will be replacing Oak in the party.
Sigh.
I think we’re. back to the sad part.
(Route 17 option: Doduo. Status: caught. Name: Oak.)
Tumblr media
UGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.
Granted, it’s much easier without having to record every single fight, but the memories of the most recent time I did this are harsh and painful and I don’t like them.
Several floors later, yeah okay, this isn’t so bad.
I still hate it.
However, I can safely say I know who the best character in the Pokemon multiverse is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Best. Girl.
She’s on floor 9, future self. Sorry about your life.
Because there are so many vitamins hidden around the building, I’m starting to really panic about how my team is going to handle the final parts of the game. I of course love all my children equally, but losing the first team was rough, and I can’t imagine that I’ll continue to engage with my pokemon on any level if things consistently fall to pieces in the very last sequences.
In a funny way, I think the EV training I’m softly tripping through might be hampering things a little. The balance is more sideways than my usual in-game teams have, because I’m focusing a lot on who’s fighting what. There are no random bursts of Defense being distributed, for instance. Oak is the closest to balance, and that’s because Oak had to do most everything before we had a real team (no offense buddy, you rock).
I don’t know. I’m paranoid. Things did not go well with Heero and friends. I think I want to invest in some of the X [stat] items, you know, like the way of the speedrunner, but the way I usually play these games involves brute force.
Full stop.
I can’t repeat enough how little I enjoy thinking in my video games.
But what that means is that I’m not used to using X items. And spending a turn on something I haven’t spent years of background noise thinking about could have disastrous consequences.
The disaster is something I fear. Clearly.
Sigh. There’s not helping it right now, so. Silph.
Tumblr media
LOOK MAN, CONSIDERING THE NUMBER OF TRAINERS I HAD TO BEAT TO GET UP HERE
I kind of love that your Rival doesn’t appear to do anything at all about Team Rocket. He just shows up because hey, Red will be doing the hero stuff over there! Time to throw down!
Then he loses and just goes back to worrying about his League quest.
He’s almost like a real ten-year-old.
Tumblr media
Acorn thank you for existing.
Wait. Crap, what deals with the Venusaur? Did I decide to just throw Trunk at that? Because that’s what I’m doing?
Yeah, fine, that works.
I got a Lapras.
Its name is Oak.
Sprinkle, I miss you.
Tumblr media
Oh whoops. Acorn’s still in front. I don’t think I want that.
Kangaskhan without a Fighting Type is weird. Not a problem weird, because yay, Trunk exists. But weird. I keep expecting to have something super effective against it.
One Master Ball for me. Yay.
Now off to the dojo.
Where I’m going to try not to get Sap killed by letting him have this fight for great exp. I trust Sap’s moves. I trust the concept of their usefulness. Then I see critical hits and tragedy everywhere.
Sap.
Do not die.
Tumblr media
Does my hat look black to you.
Level 37 Hitmonlee.
You know. I have the post that says this involves a level 37 Hitmonlee open in another tab. And yet. This still comes as a horrible shock and my brain is already playing taps for Sap.
Tumblr media
!
The pain of one Hi Jump Kick. Not bad. I think we might make it, little guy.
Tumblr media
We won!
And no one died!
Yay!
I guess that means it’s time for Koga.
Boo. But we’ll let Trunk punch through. Maybe with Bark, too.
Or Oak can eat a Kadabra. That works.
Trunk makes it through all the pre-Koga peeps with little trouble, and we move on to the man himself.
Tumblr media
-gasp-
Awesome. More awesome is how everyone’s still alive. Oh happy day before we go forth and fight Sabrina.
Toxic get.
Trunk is level 46, as seen above. Bark is 44. Acorn is 42. Oak is 41. Sap is 37.
Oak’s job is to eat Sabrina. With any luck, Oak will continue to be a help with Blaine, though Bark and Sap will want some of that sweet exp too.
...Basically, what this all means is that I’ve stopped worrying about most of what’s going on with my team. I’m now just watching the levels and letting my dread run the show.
Tumblr media
Dread and Oak. The dream team. Oak’s hit 44. I have faith.
.....Ooookay things are going awry because a Calm Minded Alakazam packs a wallop with Psychic, so I’m switching in Acorn under the assumption that he can survive one Psychic and will outspeed the thing.
Pictures taken just before disaster, fyi.
Tumblr media
Houston, we have a problem.
Trunk wraps things up.
But. Uh.
Gyarados damage control is gone.
Acorn is gone.
What even is life without Acorn.
Tumblr media
That critical hit would have been the end of Oak. Your oldest friend. I know we both wanted things to go differently, but I’m sure you understand why this is the end result.
I will miss you.
So much.
The lack of your warm presence will be a loss for us all.
I also no longer have something on my team with Thunderbolt, so. The script is no longer clear. I guess I can be less worried about levels, but. This right here might be the end of this round.
With a heavy heart, we head to the oceans where Acorn should have reigned supreme.
And stop Sap from evolving so he can learn Sludge Bomb at 43. Hopefully doing that won’t lead to another unfortunate accident, but if it does happen, I’m sadly resigned to it.
Tumblr media
I don’t know how many times Sap has hurt himself in confusion in this fight, but it’s too many.
Then the Tentacruel comes in when this is finally over, and Sap hurts himself in confusion.
Yeah.
Sap’s just eating every single confusion problem of the entire run. He’s taking it all for himself.
But. we. get. through. it. As a family.
Hit Route 20, and now I have a level 8 Tentacool. Its name is Oak.
Supersonic is hitting everything and it is absolutely miserable.
Seafoam Island gives us.... Golbat! Apparently we already had a Zubat, so whoops, but in any case, its name is Oak. And needs to be moved from the D E A D box because whoops.
Does Oak want to learn Fly and help greatly with things not being awful?
Boy howdy do I.
And I am at 30 pokemon in my Pokedex, so it’s time for me to go grab my Itemfinder and Leftovers.
...Oh. Golbat doesn’t learn Fly. Well fine then. Another Oak will help me.
Tumblr media
After all.
He is
Oak’s Aide.
Got one Leftovers. Two Leftovers. Awesome.
-many minutes later-
Sap gets Sludge Bomb! Do you know what that means?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sap! We’ve done it! We’ve kept you alive! You’ve made it through your trying times as a Grimer!
Now let’s go into that non-haunted mansion that makes up most of Blaine’s island’s real estate.
I’m just going to shove Bark in front and. idk. I don’t know what I’m doing anymore. I’m just waiting for Victory Road, the day of reckoning, and. Maybe better than last time.
Growlithe caught in the mansion. Its name is Oak.
Secret Key get.
Blaine, why must you be so sketchy.
Okay, so for this Gym, I think I’ll be using Sap more than expected. Bark and Oak will deal with a lot of Giovanni, because they don’t have to worry about Ground really causing an extra problem. That makes this a better place for Trunk and Sap to level up. Agreed?
Yeah sure, whatever.
I guess the other thing to consider is if Bark will really be a help in this endeavor.
She’s very, very fast, and will learn Earthquake naturally. But she can’t take a hit, and with the loss of Acorn, I’m thinking what I have to do is just have Trunk, Oak, and Sap tank everything; lots of X items, lots of Full Restores.
Most of the time, Bark can’t afford to take a second hit of anything.
If I really want to optimize, Cutting down to three out of my four might be the better call.
Ugh, that’s such a dangerous number, though.
Sap has an amazing move set. I really could just...
Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, Lance, Rival.
Trunk could probably handle Lorelei. Sap could do the Fighting half of Bruno, and the other half isn’t really a problem. The plan with Agatha was always to teach Po Shadow Ball, but then Zaft needed Thunderbolt, so I couldn’t afford it. Lance is hell, but not one a Dugtrio is likely to improve by much.
I have no idea what to do for Oak.
But if I can set Sap up, a lot of problems become manageable. I can’t brute force this. I keep saying that, and I keep ignoring it because that’s not how I play these games. I need better strategies. Bark’s Attack stat isn’t up to being a glass cannon. She’s a glass rifle, maybe. Fantastic, but eating up resources without serving an extra purpose. She’ll be just as dead in two hits if I keep on giving her exp. Leveling could remove that weakness, but I don’t have anything to work with there.
I have to focus on three.
Damn it.
Tumblr media
For now, let’s finish Blaine, shall we.
Got the badge.
Bill Gaiden?
Tumblr media
So he says.
So ends the post, because I just can’t.

The Gamer Hero, Deku Chapter 1
A/N I hope you guys like my first fanfiction. This is a concept that I thought of that I'm surprised hasn't come up yet, at least for BNHA. Either that or it has and I haven't seen it yet.
xoxoxo
"Sorry, kid, it's not going to happen," the doctor said. "If you had a Quirk, it would've shown itself by now."
"What do you mean?" my mom asked.
The doctor pointed to an x-ray of my foot. "After the emergence of Quirks, there were studies done. It was found that most people with a Quirk lack this joint right here. It's possible for someone to have the joint and a Quirk regardless, but if Izuku here hasn't developed a Quirk at this age, it probably means he doesn't have one."
After that, I was crushed. The one thing that I wanted most was to be a hero, and now that dream seemed completely out of reach. How could I become a hero without a Quirk? I never completely gave up, but after a while, it just seemed so hard. It was around this time that I really started to get into video games. In them, I could be the hero. I was always the hero. I saved the day, stopped the bad guys, and had all kinds of cool powers. Maybe... maybe that was what kept me going. At any rate, I eventually redoubled my efforts to become a hero and began analyzing everything I possibly could about heroes. I watched hundreds of videos of fights between heroes and villains in all kinds of environments. I went to see every hero fight I could. I learned enough that I could theoretically be certified a Quirk counselor if I took the exam. Still, I always had some doubt as to whether or not I could do it. If there was ever a hero without a Quirk, they never made it big enough to even be mentioned. Everyone at school laughed at me for saying I wanted to be a hero.
But that all changed the day my Quirk awakened.
I woke up feeling odd, but couldn't quite place why. It only hit me when I was brushing my teeth. When I was just about done, I noticed something weird above my head in the mirror. I looked up and immediately spat out my toothpaste when I saw white text floating above my head. It might have been reversed, but I could read it clear as day.
The Gamer
LV 5
Midoriya Izuku
I had no idea what to make of it. "Why is there a text box floating over my head!?" I thought. "And what's with that part that says 'The Gamer?" I might have stayed there, staring like a deer in headlights at my own reflection, for hours if my mom hadn't called up to me.
"Izuku! Hurry up or you'll be late for school!" That snapped me out of my reverie. Whatever it was could probably wait until I was at school.
"Coming!" I yelled back down, and then hurriedly finished getting ready. When I went downstairs, she was waiting for me with my lunch. After she gave it to me (along with a hug and a kiss) I looked above her head.
Supermom
LV 11
Midoriya Inko
So it wasn't just me. It seemed to me like she couldn't see the words, considering the fact that she hadn't reacted at all. Still, better to be safe than sorry. "Hey, Mom?"
"Yes, Izuku?"
"Have you noticed anything strange today?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"I thought something was off. I guess I just stayed up a little too late last night." She narrowed her eyes at me. "D-don't worry, though! I'm fine now." That confirmed that she couldn't see the text floating above our heads. Satisfied, I headed out the door.
xoxoxo
On the way to school, I saw that everyone had a title above their heads. "It's just like a video game!" I thought. I stopped for a second as a thought struck me, then continued as I thought about it. "Could this be a Quirk? What if that's the reason? It'd explain why only I can see these titles. The doctor did say that it was possible I had a Quirk, just not likely. But why now? Why wouldn't my Quirk have shown up earlier?" I was so distracted that I didn't even notice the crowd until I walked into someone's back. After apologizing, I followed everyone's gaze to see a giant, monstrous man standing on the overpass.
Giant Monster Man
LV 32
Yamazaki Riku
"Guy gets cornered by heroes and just turns into a giant monster," a nearby man said as if it was a common occurrence. I made my way through the crowd toward the front. When I did, a bunch of fangirls squealed as a guy who looked like a cross between a ninja and a tree kicked the giant in the face. "It's Kamui Woods," I said. I squinted and just barely made out his title while he monologued at the villain.
?
LV ?
Nishiya Shinji
Huh. I figured that the titles had some limitations to it. My assumption was immediately given some credit when a giant woman kicked the giant villain in the jaw while he was distracted with Kamui Woods' special attack.
?
LV ?
Takeyama Yu
"Mt. Lady, huh?" the guy next to me said. "She's certainly making a name for herself. Seems like she might make it big."
"Yeah," I muttered. "She's certainly got a good Quirk for hero work. Plenty of power and flashy too. I can see a few downsides, though. She can't use it in tight spaces and being that big would definitely cause a lot of collateral damage." I was interrupted by a ping. I looked down to see... a blue text box?
A new skill has been created through special action! Continuously analyzing your surroundings has created the skill 'Observe' to gain information about objects.
Observe (Active) LV1 EXP: 0.00%
The ability to observe one's surroundings and gain information from it.
Gives the user information about the object it is used on.
Yet again, all I could do was gape at what I saw. A skill... so this wasn't just identifying people... I don't know how I immediately knew how to use it, but I did. "Observe," I thought while looking at the text box for the Observe skill, and a new text box popped up.
The text box for the Observe skill. Shows the effects and experience of the Observe skill.
I probably would've played around with this more, but the man next to me cleared his throat and said, "Hey, kid! Are you okay?"
"O-oh, I'm fine!" I blurted out.
"You looked pretty distracted, there. Something happen?" he asked.
"Don't worry about it," I replied. "My Quirk's just a little weird." I was just using it as an excuse, but... it had to have been my Quirk. There was no other explanation for it. I decided that I'd explore this new Quirk as best I could when I got to school. Wait. "I HAVE TO GET TO SCHOOL!" I realized and ran for it.
xoxoxo
Once I made it to my homeroom, I immediately collapsed into my chair, panting. I looked at the text boxes that had appeared on the run to my school.
The level of the skill Observe has increased by one! The level of the skill Observe has increased by one!
Those and a bunch of Observe text boxes made up most of them. I saw the LV1 on Observe's text box and inferred that I could probably raise the level of the skill by using it a bunch. Naturally, I spammed it at every item I could on the run over. However, there were two that I hadn't expected.
Due to repeated struggles, your VIT has increased by one.
Due to prolonged running, your DEX has increased by one.
Well. That was interesting. I suppose it made sense. I may have gained some weird video game power, but I was still in real life... supposedly... so I was still able to exercise. I wondered what my stats were, then had an idea. I concentrated, then thought the word "Menu" to myself, just like when I used Observe. It didn't surprise me, then, when a menu popped up.
Status Screen
Skill List
Inventory
Party Options
Map
Quest Log
Options
Well, that seemed interesting. I decided to start at the top and make my way down. "Status Screen"
Name: Midoriya Izuku
Title: The Gamer
Level: 5
HP: 250/250
MP: 275/275
STR: 10
VIT: 11
DEX: 11
INT: 30
WIS: 10
LUK: 10
POINTS: 0
MONEY: 0 Yen
What? I got most of my stats, but... why would a level five character have twenty more points in INT than in the other stats? I guess that explained why I didn't start at level one, but... maybe I got five stats per level after one and my Quirk automatically dumped those into INT because of my above-average IQ? I guess that made sense, but I really wished it hadn't. I could have probably used those points better myself, Quirk! Still... I decided that I'd have to train up my stats the hard way at first. "I can probably focus on INT, WIS, and LUC during school hours. Studying and doing math problems should probably increase my INT, maybe I could increase my WIS by meditating, and if I constantly flip a coin and call it that'd probably increase LUC. As for out of school, I said I was going to Yuuei, so nobody would think twice about me exercising like crazy. Actually, why haven't I done that already? 'Exercised like crazy' is half of what made Batman Batman, so why did it take me this long to figure out that I should do that!?" I then noticed another text box.
Due to planning things carefully, your WIS has increased by one!
That's probably what led to me questioning my previous actions. I would have thought about that further, but I was interrupted (again) by someone saying my name. "Midoriya-kun is also planning on going to Yuuei." Oh no.
"WHAT!? DEKU!?" Kacchan went over to my desk and started burning my desk with tiny explosions. I got a good look at his name.
Lord Explosion Murder
LV 14
Bakugou Katsuki
That title was really accurate. "YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A FUCKING QUIRK, YA SHITTY DEKU! YOU'RE JUST A DISGRACE!"
"Kacchan..." I sighed. I was surprisingly calm considering the fact that an explosive blonde was shouting in my face. I guessed I was just really distracted by the whole "I have a Quirk now" thing. "You can't stop me from going to Yuuei, no matter what you do." "Actually," I thought, "while he's in my face like this... Observe."
Name: Bakugou Katsuki
Title: Lord Explosion Murder
Level: 14
HP: 800/800
MP: 725/725
STR: 27
VIT: 25
DEX: 35
INT: 29
WIS: 13
LUC: 13
Quirk: Explosion
Emotions: Angry, worried
That last one didn't seem right... "SHITTY DEKU! I'LL MURDER YOU!"
"Bakugou, calm down!" the teacher said. "Remember, you're not supposed to use your Quirk in school. I don't think that getting a detention will look very good to Yuuei."
"FINE! I'M JUST GONNA GLARE AT HIM!"
"PLease limit yourself to that. That isn't against the rules and doesn't cause a disturbance."
"MAYBE I WILL!"
Wow Kacchan is high-strung. I sighed as he plopped back into his seat and started glaring at me. With that threat out of the way, I decided to test my new training regimen.
xoxoxo
On the walk home from school, I decided to review what I'd done at school. After Bakugou's outburst, I'd decided to try out meditation, which yielded quite the fruit.
A skill has been created through special action! Through repeated meditation, the skill 'Meditation' has been created.
Meditation (Active) LV2 EXP: 61.23%
By clearing one's mind, the mind becomes much sharper. This skill allows the user to meditate on the mysteries of life, the universe, and everything for enlightenment.
Increase HP recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
Increase MP recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
Increase stamina recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
WIS can be trained through meditation.
Through repeated meditation, your WIS has increased by one!
I also found a 500 yen coin during lunch and started flipping it as I'd planned. Just like I'd thought, calling it right enough times had increased my LUC.
Due to repeatedly winning games of chance, your LUC has increased by one!
"I should probably focus on VIT and DEX, and especially DEX. Even if I can shrug off getting punched by a truck and hit with the same amount of force, there's going to be some attacks that I can only dodge." I would have done some more planning, but I was interrupted by a weird feeling and a ping. I was excited to see what this new text box would bring me until...
A new skill has been created through special action! Through exposure to impending doom, the skill 'Sense Danger' has been created.
I had about a second to think "Well that is the second most ominous thing I've ever seen." before a manhole burst with some form of sludge. The sludge consolidated into a single blob that somehow had eyes and a mouth with teeth.
Sludge Monster
LV 26
Kurosawa Shou
xoxoxo
A/N: CLLLLIFFHANGER! I hope you guys like it! Just know that I'm always open to constructive criticism, especially with my math because fuck math. Also I'd like to apologize in advance if my updates are erratic. I'm still in school and I can get easily distracted.
