(A/N): was literally complaining bc like how is he black but there’s NO black readers??? But I found out who’s clogging up the blue lock tag😒And then I realized I can do it my fucking self lmao. Okay so Hanamuke
Nobody ever talks about the lore on this one. It drives me insane. Did you know it came out the same day I decided I'd run away from home cuz that fucks me up /pos anyway
The lyrics are straight-forward enough. Nirvana (that's his name okay bro trust me) is running away from an abusive situation. Lyrically, he lists this as "anger to culling", "diappointment to our rotfather", "not able to come out", "not able to wed", "death of your grandpa", "anger of abuse", "disgustingness of our rotfather", "dull pain in right lung/heart".
Visually (screenshots below, can't read red text :/), it also looks like he has siblings(?) that appear younger than him. Five hands hold onto him, presumably his siblings, parents, and aforementioned grandfather. The placement of the hands, and later symbolism, reads as sexual abuse too.
We'll come back to the other sexual abuse symbolism, cuz it's a metaphor within a plotline type of deal. As to what made me interested to write a meta on this song. *Points* guys there's a cult there
I left the little flyer for you all to read. This guy here is the man putting up the flyers that initially caught Nirvana's attention, and who he was following to Apple Blossom Land. The red eyes is a pretty obvious sign that the place is no good, not to mention how vague it is. They just want people, they don't care who, no further details needed
Then there's also this guy, whose truck Nirvana was riding on the back of. Who drove away from Apple Blossom Land, and didn't stop to let Nirvana keep going towards it. Suspiciously with a tattoo of a flower blossom. Which. Sir you could have tried harder, but A for effort ig
But. Most interestingly of all. I think that's Ito and Ote's cult. With Zoy and all that shit. Their cult is heavily tied to flower symbolism. They're in nearly every song directly tied to that plot. They decorate events in both Wedding Festival and Want to be Cremated, they're even titular in Flower War, and Ito is compared to golden kerria. And now we have apple blossoms, which represent the continuation after death
Every major member of Zoy's cult is dead. Zoy himself, Frannie, Ito, and Ote seems to want nothing to do with the place. So they're left to get new members through this kind of method, which isn't uncommon in cults anyway. They find vulnerable people and just. Pspsps at them until they're stuck
Which brings me to the sexual abuse point.
This looks and sounds like a rape. No real way around it. The story I'm getting from this is that Nirvana was already being abused (tail is present when he first sees Apple Blossom Land flyer). When a family member(s) raped him though, presumably his father and someone else ("disgustingness of our rotfather"), he "lost his tail", so to speak, which pushed him to finally go. Hence jumping off the back of the truck there, his tail's stump still bleeding

ok tng update time. yesterday i did "haven" and just now i finished "the big goodbye."
haven: not like GOOD but definitely watchable! i think this was one largely saved from going in my garbage heap pile because nurse chapel played deanna's mom. like, if it hadn't been nurse chapel she would have been the MOST irritating annoying character but instead i was just like awww its majel barrett look at her being all quirky good for her. being ever so slightly faceblind it took me a minute to recognize her, since i just recognized her by her voice. it was also this episode or maybe the next one that i realized she was doing the computer - she uses such a different tone in tng and i hadn't been expecting to hear her voice, but the computer was starting to sound awfully familiar so i looked it up and wow sure enough. GOOD for her.
also, deanna having a truly horrible, wretched, AWFUL mother also endeared me to her more than words can say. i was JUST thinking that even though people say data is the knockoff spock it's not true - data is the inverse of spock, and DEANNA is the knockoff. like this was very much like oh she's half alien half human, it's time for her weird little alien marriage like amok time, it's time to meet her alien family like in journey of babel, etc etc, this episode could have been an email and she could have been a vulcan, etc etc etc. then she stormed out of the room and knocked that little gong thing over and i think i fell in love with her on the spot. im not sure if i wanna marry her or be her but i am now a deanna enjoyer.
my main gripes with the episode were 1. they never really explained how her intended husband and that blonde chick met...am i really supposed to believe lwaxana's bs about the current of life connecting them? and then also him saying goodbye to his parents was like...anyway bye mom and dad! not remotely believable. i didn't really care about him but it was wack.
and 2. deanna and will had an argument but then never got to reconcile at the end...this is the first time i was actually interested in their romance and then they barely got to speak two words to each other. i know tng episodes are 5min shorter than tos episodes, but this is like the 4th time i've thought they needed a bit more time at the end for that debrief scene they always had in tos...can they truly not pace this better. come on
the big goodbye: unwatchable in EVERY way. this episode was so fucking bad. dr crusher trying to make herself look Hot Like Women Do and getting mad when picard invited People Who Were Not Her to the holodeck. the data being from south america joke that is only a little better than kirk calling spock chinese in the city on the edge of forever. the fake stakes. picard walking around with lipstick on his mouth. treating data like a third wheel which should be punishable by law. the 1940s setting which is TIRED when you're not in the depths of whatever i was doing in 2014. COME ON
i will say though that i did love picard trying to learn the little insect language where the letters change their sound depending on what symbols are beside them. me trying to learn japanese on duolingo fr. also i did laugh one time when dr crusher swallowed the gum. her actress really sold that one. great job.
also, what was UP with the characters in the holodeck having their own existential crisis about not being real??? that plus any potential malfunction making the holodeck capable of killing people leads me to believe it should not be on this ship. like if i thought the fake holodeck characters were sentient enough to wonder if they were sentient and doomed to cease existing once i took my eyes off of them i would firstly never enter the holodeck again but secondly call a priest to disassemble it
anyway, tonight we are doing "datalore." can't wait for more data lore and also to meet his evil twin or whatever that's about

Honestly, the Aeons are such an intriguing subject in Star Rail, there's so much we don't know much about them, besides that they were mortals at one who ascended to place beyond average human comprehension due to fantastical circumstances (along with the Paths, Pathstriders, and Emanators). I think my favorite aspect about the Aeons would probably be the subtle elements of cosmic/eldritch horror that a few of them have going on. Such as Yaoshi themself, with the horrors of the Mara, the races of the Denizens of Abundance, and terrific experimental creations of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, then there's the deceased Tayzzyronth the Propagation with the terror of their self-replicating Swarm, still prevalent long after their Aeon's death. And lest we forget Ouroboros the Voracity, the many-mouthed devourer of worlds, both an Aeon, and an ancient beast called a "Leviathan". Then there's also Fuli, who's physical appearance is on the more "abstract" side, as well as how no one is sure when they ascended, as it seems like they've "always been there" in the memory of the universe. They're such an intriguing lot really!
Yaoshi is among my favorites for the same reasons, with just how abundant their design is!
Fuli is another, because the idea of an deity-like being appearing to be made of mirrors, and representing the concept of memory is just cool.
Then there's Long, which is partially because of my love of dragons, but also because of the interesting thing with Long's Scions (the Vidyadhara and other draconic races) and how they fit in with Long's "revelation of Permanence."
And finally, the last of my favs. This one is a bit ironic considering my liking of Yaoshi, and that would be Lan the Hunt. Because dude, they are a fucking. Space. Centaur.
A FUCKING SPACE CENTAUR. That's cool as fuck dude! I also have something of a soft spot for deities (or deity-like beings) of 'the hunt' because it's such a cool domain to dive into, and see what people come up with like, the principles that deity, the culture surrounding it, the lore of how they came to be. How it can vary from setting to setting!
Just, exploring the numerous concepts and people come up with for Gods in fantasy is always such a cool thing to look into. I know I have a ton of fun toying around with such ideas!
Oof, sorry for the tangent, getting back on topic now! Yaoshi is a very interesting Aeon, it's cool having a more morally dubious life deity around!
Hoyoverse are just very good at crafting and exploring their creations, they've got some very talented writers in their game teams!

the subtle eldritch vibes that they all have is SOOO appealing to me (i still think yaoshi could use more eyes though fr!!!! biblically accurate yaoshi!!!!!!!! /lh). and just... the HORROR that comes of all the paths (or could potentially come of all the paths; i believe all the paths have the potential to be cosmically horrifying). the aeons are all so fascinating, really. aha is one i am particularly fascinated by. their... hedonistic nature is so interesting. they are really just here for a good time LMAO everything about the aeons is so interesting, really. i want to know where they came from. why did they ascend. HOW did they ascend. how does it feel to be so eternally bound to their paths, to the point where it probably has become all-consuming for some of them (i think good examples are yaoshi, lan, and nanook. those three seem to be very consumed by their paths, at least to me! i also like to think that yaoshi is inadvertently causing all this harm because they're so all-consumed by abundance that they cannot see beyond it..... but i will save that ramble for another time!)
YOU GET IT THOUGH their design is so abundant. and i think it is so perfect for that reason.
fuli is very cool!!! i cannot help but wonder where they came from. to represent memory--that feels like such an important thing. i don't know. fuli feels very important (all the aeons do, of course! but there are those that seem especially important, like fuli and nanook).
long is also super cool! i had a thought--would permanence have been consumed by abundance? obviously i don't think this is canon. i'm pretty sure long just disappeared. but hear me out on this; abundance is just a broader version of permanance, is it not? like ena the order and xipe the harmony. i wonder what the exact circumstances for an aeon consuming another aeon are, because there are clearly specifics that we don't know about yet, given how similar paths can and do coexist. in a way, abundance and permanance are closely related, but i also see them as different enough for that not to have happened. this is mostly just word vomit. but i think it's fun to talk about these things.

i think yaoshi and lan's rivalry is very interesting, to be serious. because you know, if it ends up being true that yaoshi is so consumed by their path that they cannot see beyond it, then is lan's pursuit really justified? or... perhaps it would be better for the abundance to be gone, for the sake of the universe and yaoshi themselves? the "nurturer of the people," the "god of peace"... one who cannot bear to see death and pain. would someone so allegedly kind be able to live peacefully if they knew what they had done?
and... in addition, has lan also been consumed by their path, to the point where they cannot see beyond it? if so, i see them destroying both themselves and the abundance. or maybe just themselves, if yaoshi stays away long enough.
or...
are all the aeons morally ambiguous? is this pursuit beyond mortal comprehension? who knows. i do not! and i think all the potential truths about yaoshi and lan are so cool. so so cool.
the hunt in and of itself is so fascinating. and it sounds cool as hell too. like.... The Hunt. hello.

hiii taku i come with bonten takeomi & natsu brainrot. also it’s a lot bc i can’t shut up abt them help. this is just copy paste of me being insane abt them to my qpp bc i’m too lazy to type it all again but yeah
basically their vibe is when takeomi is too tired of bonten's shit he visits natsu's tiny flat and she cooks spaghetti or smth that they have with wine before they slow dance to music playing on the old record player she stole from her parents when moving out and when they're sleepy enough they put on a shitty old movie and fall asleep cuddling trying to watch it. also they go to clubs together, they are friends though often get mistaken for a couple, and they have kissed quite a bunch of times. not sure if this part is canon but they might've fucked a bunch of times too and i can assure you if they did they both stood on a balcony to smoke together afterwards they 100% smoke and drink together (maybe a little too often) and their whole thing is pretty ride or die oriented,, they're together to have fun and forget the shitty parts of their lives. to be themselves for once. to have someone who understands and relates
i am a little insane about them sorry
also natsu is the oldest of five siblings and she fucked up all of her sibling relationships bc she used to be in a gang and her siblings are still all in a gang, all the same one, but a different one from hers. and yeah shit went down when their gangs fought and natsu's won. she'd now like to fix her relationship with her siblings but they don't even accept her calls most of the time and it's even more one-sided than takeomi & sanzu :(( but it's also one of the biggest things that make them relate to each other ajdkfkhsj i think they start venting to each other too bc they understand v much how the other feels yk
also more natsu sibling drama but even tho she left her gang her siblings are still in a gang as i've mentioned before n it's a LOT smaller than bonten more just beating up people for fun and some minor drug smuggling but natsu gets jumped by some gang members every other week/month n she's pretty good at defending herself but she still calls takeomi to pick & patch her up sometimes bc yk she just wants some comfort in her situation...
okay maybe i am more than just a little insane about them but like. they <33 also me on my 'wtf is defining a relationship' agenda again but i think they're mostly friends but also like. they fuck labeling their relationship they just know it's very much not romantic. but could be fuck all apart from that tbh. friends? fwbs? smth between? god knows but they're close and not romantic that's all that matters
