SHUT UPPPPP because you know Satoru loves the attention too, they’re a perfect match together bye. All you can do is stand, bemused, as Satoru picks up the baby and almost instantly quells his crying, rocking him back and forth before stretching his arms to hold the kid at eye level with him and cooing, “Oh, I’m sorry my love, I missed you too, soooooo much,” Satoru bends his arms to brush their noses together and grin at the giggles the baby emits, “You missed me too, yeah? Aren’t you the sweetest little thing, missing me like that? So precious.” Satoru covers the baby in kisses and sweet words for nearly five straight minutes and they both love to bask in each other’s attention (you have the videos to prove it).

Something kinda funny tho is… you’re 98% sure your son can tell that Satoru will give into quickest lmfaoo. Your baby cries sometimes when you have to leave him, sure, and can definitely throw a fit when he wants your attention—but he seems to know to cry (or squeal, or babble, or screech) on demand for his sucker of a father. Nanami, Shoko, Megumi, and Yuuta (your on rotation band of baby sitters) have noticed that the kid loves to be held and has no shame gesturing for it—but they’ve never experienced the baby crying when they so much as step away for a moment, unless he’s hungry or needs to be changed. You don’t have the heart to tell Satoru he’s being played tho, so you just let them have their moment <333 (not that it would matter, Satoru can’t stand to see your kid cry in any capacity, so he’d go right back to giving in; plus it’s a win-win in his book anyway: baby stops crying, and he gets cuddles from his son).

(Then again, you think the need and love for attention might just be genetic, because Satoru has cried big tears a handful of times just leaving you and your baby at home for a few hours).

hi anon, I never thought that someone would be interested in this kind of "content" but ok lol also I want to say that I finally found the right way to eat that works for me; but anyone is different so please never judge other people's eating habits (I know that wasn't the intent of your message, like more in general…in real life) this is what I ate yesterday (on my free day, because today was less creative lol)

breakfast: I usually make a dairy-free smoothie with frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, orange juice, a little bit of honey and chia seeds. then I ate some cashews, almonds and a toast

lunch: brown rice with avocado, smoked salmon and lattuce, everything with a little bit of soy sauce and flax seeds. then I made some mint lemonade. i'm obsessed with lemonade and i'm lucky because I have 3 lemon trees (my babies, I love them so much! they are full of little blossoms right now, i'm so proud lol)

afternoon snack: I baked some lemon muffins (again, i'm obsessed) and they turned out delicious!

dinner: I made some hummus (chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt & smoked paprika… no garlic because I don't like it) with some fresh veggies and chips. I also ate some primosale cheese.

after dinner snack: some chocolate from my easter eggs (I still have most of it lol)

and that's all!

How did the cookie soda taste?

honestly it was a bit of a letdown

i've had a lot of the novelty jones sodas, and those managed to pretty accurately capture flavors like 'gravy' and 'brussels sprouts'

the sugar cookie jones soda just sort of reminded me of... a worse cream soda. it seems like they were trying to capture a lofthouse cookie in particular, but they went too hard on the acid component. like, i used to make these sugar cookie milkshakes all the time, and a key ingredient to making it taste like a sugar cookie was cream of tartar and baking soda. which are weird things to put in a milkshake but it fucking worked. it tastes like they tried to take a cream soda and do something similar to achieve a leavening agent sort of taste, but imho they missed the mark.

So I went and I redesigned Blueberry Yogurt today

This was mostly spurred on by @a-weird-bean-bag and his drawing of Yogurt and Blueberry Ice Cream, but it’s not his fault, it’s because I was looking at the picture I have of Blueberry Yogurt and I realized “oh yeah, I can kind of see why he mistook BBY as a 12-14 year old”. Like he looks like a kid, but I don’t really look at him and think “4-5 year old”

So I changed his design, mostly for the sake of proportions but I ended up tweaking his design somewhat along the way

The one eye cover up was something from the updated Blueberry Ice Cream reference, since I knew I briefly drew him there and that was more recent. I saw it and was like “yeah okay I’ll do that”. I mean to be fair, the hair swirl was giving me trouble before that. I know it doesn’t technically cover his whole eye, but shush

So I’m gonna be honest, I pretty much just used Tangerine Tanghulu as my reference for a small child body, not really anyone else. So like his body shape is mostly a copy of her. But I mean, I think it still works, he looks younger like I intended

To be honest Peppermint might have been a better reference since they have a closer body shape to what I envision BBY to look like, but also in my head they’re not young enough (despite Peppermint’s CRK voice making them sound very young, I just forgot about that), so I just used TT

I do feel like maybe I made him a bit androgynous looking, like you could mistake him for a girl. That wasn’t my intention, but like, maybe it’s fine?

This is on a larger canvas, so I might tweak him a bit more later

I also feel like this is the first time in a while I’ve properly drawn something, so it might look a bit wonky. I remember having some particular trouble with how the lineart was going

But overall I think he’s been improved, and hopefully so has my style in the past few months. Hopefully he looks his age now?

Because it seems like you really like the island, a lot. Some find this absolutely hilarious (see Killer encouraging you to eat mud), some find it a little concerning (Cross might have to tell you that dirt and grass surely can’t be healthy for you), and some really couldn’t care less (Error doesn’t care to learn too much about the Big Folk, so all of them could enjoy eating the ground for all that he knew).

i was eating yogurt tonight and pondering this au after your ask!! and as with everything i write for hrpf, it's always in a constant state of evolution, when players come and go or i rewatch miyazaki films or w/e. but here are some thoughts i had, unrelated to jamie and jared:

tomáš is a grizzled fisherman with a kind heart, who spends most of his time fishing alone

future captain matty sells tuna's fish at the fish market but he sucks at it bc he's too nice to old grandmas who want nice fish but pretend they don't have enough money to buy it (they do, he's just a dummy). tuna has to hire a second person to help, but unfortunately that person is will borgen

obviously will and captain matty are harboring enormous crushes on tuna and deal with it by acting out (juggling fish across the booth to make him shout at them)

in the past i have said joey daccord is a gardener for chris and philipp and this still true, however sometimes i think he helps out with the early morning shift at the mccann bakery and will load like bread and cookies into his truck and take them down to the fish market so that....

eeli can sell them at his jam stand. eeli's jam makes you feel one of two emotions: unbridled euphoria or catastrophic depression. you never know what is going to happen. two jars of the same strawberry jam can alter the trajectory of your life in two different ways. and much like pregnancy, once you eat it and have a horrible time, it releases endorphins and then you're like actually that wasn't so bad, and you go back to his jam and mccann bakery bread stand and he looks at you beatifically and says, oh you liked it? :)

And then of course for Jared and Jamie:

most critically the one single time jared makes it out to the lighthouse (VERY sneakily bc like...that's a worksite lol harbormaster grubauer is kind but not soft) to Spend The Night, they obviously have very dreamy tender night time sex but ALSO the ghosts are quiet and jamie sleeps through the night without waking ONCE because that's true love babey!! jared ofc does not sleep at all because foghorns are loud lol

i outlined a longform version of this fic uhhh in dms with @bakingblues once i think, where jamie is veteran of (unspecified) armed conflict and he is running from what he did (also unspecifed) and he like is like i must punish myself and live alone to atone for my sins (unspecified but knowing me it's probably like...the Inherent Cruelty of War and not like anything that would get him tried in the hague) which is why he takes a lighthouse job. and in the whole fic it's totally unclear if he is being haunted by ghosts (real) or ghosts (ptsd). and ofc jared's gentle and constant love for him does not like Heal him but as with all love it makes the ghosts easier to bear

lorna prompted me a million years ago with jamie + jared + seashells i think? or oyster shells? and i never finished the fic bc i'm the worst but here's how it goes: one time after a storm the island is COVERED in oyster shells, like hundreds, maybe thousands, of them, and it was a bad bad bad storm and the ghosts were so loud and jamie didn't sleep at all and he's so tired and so lonely, but he's not scheduled to leave the lighthouse that week. so instead of doing his work, jamie spends the day picking up dozens and dozens of the most intact oyster shells. and he very patiently figures out how to drill holes in them and string them together with fishing line and it takes him all day but by the time it's time to turn on the lighthouse light, he has made a big intricate windchime for jared and his cousins. and when he finally makes it off the island three weeks later, he gives it to jared and his cousins. they all are soooo charmed and the girls hang it outside the door of their bakery immediately even though that is so excruciatingly embarrassing for jamie. however jared gives him the kind of hug that makes you fall in love with a guy and jamie, well, he's got a soft heart.
