if you're wondering why I kind of abandoned this blog, there's several reasons (fandom just doesn't feel fun anymore, I'm trying to cut back on screen time, I've been feeling like my faith is in contradiction to what I see/read/interact with on here is for years and years now) but the final straw has been what I see on my dash every day about Israel/Palestine.

I keep seeing people I used to interact with and used to like now peddling conspiracy theories, debunked claims, inflammatory headlines, and even bloodthirsty rhetoric with tens of thousands of notes (when corrections of those posts get ~500 notes at best), and reacting to nuanced conversations like they're calls for hatred, all while turning a blind eye to the very literal vicious hatred or sheer ignorance in many of those big posts. The level of black-and-white thinking is so strong that we are wayyyy past 'us-vs-them,' we're in the kind of discourse where even 'know thy enemy' (being interested in understanding the opposing arguments even just so you can dismantle them) is considered hatred - people can't be bothered to know what they're arguing for or against, nothing short of plugging your ears and screaming for the death of the Bad People is enough. This is a wave of just about the most hypocritical, callous and uninformed 'activism' this website has ever been guilty of and it's too much. I'm done with this.

And yes, this is about antisemitism. You can all shout 'not antisemitic, just anti-zionist' all day long but you have done jack shit to prove you don't hate Jews beside chanting 'punch a nazi' in the same breath you use KKK slurs and cheer for groups that have 'curse the Jews' in their slogan. I trust none of you anymore.

hate when i vent abt my pain and ppl tell me "everyone has stomach aches, it's normal" okay but are their pains bad enough to make them cry or unable to stand..... at least once a week...... bc i think that if this was normal society might've collapsed by now. but what do i know

We can tell you're Canadian bc of the "ow" sound in house & about! It's pretty much the only noticeable difference between a Midwestern American and a general Canadian accent lol

I just spent the better part of five minutes recording myself saying these two words and trying to listen for the difference hjdfbvhs

I guess, on listening back, there is one, but to me it's so minor. Apparently it's real obvious to Californians and New Yorkers though...

#i think it may be that i'm really accustomed to hearing american accents on tv and stuff so the difference to me doesn't register super well #since i'm accustomed to them #but americans don't tend to hear as many canadian accents so i guess it stands out more #storyrambles #thanks for the ask!#actually that reminds me of this one guy in new york who we stopped to chat with because he had a vendor with some neat products #and he realized we were canadian and. immediately got really weird about it #like. tried to get us to say stereotypical 'aboot' and 'eh' and when we said no one actually says that he just straight up didn't believe u #and then got more forceful about it. like we were hiding our true accents from him. we eventually had to walk away because it got #way too uncomfortable.#really weird experience.

i can’t believe i’m saying this but they might just get $90 outta me just for that t3 usb drive

and this is so stupid but for the briefest moment i was tempted by that pazaak deck. that eighty-five dollar pazaak deck. just kidding i know the $85 also goes into that miniature lightsaber and strategy guide and lithograph or whatever, but $85??? a price jump of $85???

is this even anything though??? the logo on the card backs, the awkward color palette and weathering, AND the game-inaccurate font?? they really did everything in their power not to make it an attractive in-universe deck

and a play mat, right, because people will totally play pazaak in real life, a game which was so obviously never designed to be played by real physical people that the cards aren’t even rotationally symmetric so it’s a pain to shuffle and you’re forced to sit shoulder to shoulder with your opponent so that both of you can easily read the cards--wait. is that the in-universe reason why pazaak players love the game? to get that little shoulder’s worth of contact each time they play??

and honestly, this pin puzzles me. why--out of ALL the characters and vehicles and items in the game--would they chose to make an enamel pin of G0-T0?? this is the only new art in the whole bundle, and they spend it on G0-T0???

but i have to keep my eyes on the prize. even though this is clearly a nihilus fan targeted bundle, i’m doing it for him* (*T3-M4 USB Drive - includes STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords)

there is a special place in hell for this couple that occupied the disabled seats on this bus with their fucking equipment for god knows what

#every time i am on a bus (almost every day) i get comsumed by rage seeing people occupy the seats for disabled people #and like yes i know there are invisible disabilities. i am aware as an invisible disability haver #but i can tell you for sure most people just sit on whatever seat without caring if it's not for them #there is surely a small percentage of the people i see sitting on disabled seats that need it even if it's not visible #but it IS small #and it drives me insane like. it costs you nothing to sit in another seat. nothing #god i hate these ppl. i've had times when i was in a lot of pain and was debating whether i could use the disabled seats #and i didn't in the end! they're not even more comfortable or anything anyway most of the time lmao they're mostly for people with #reduced mobility bc they're close to the exists and then there's the spot for wheelchair users #and people who need more space in general. which you guessed it gets used by people who don't need it #alllll the time #when i was in dublin on a bus a person with a cane got on and none of the people sitting in the disabled seats got up #again sure maybe someone needed it and you couldn't tell #but i am sure at least one of them could've gotten up for that person who CLEARLY needed the space and the distance from the exit #i got up but my seat wasn't ideal - no one else got up tho #the person thanked me and i was like no worries which wasn't even SUPER true bc i had a hard time with my back in that moment #and could've used sitting #but like if it's between me - who can stand up on a bus without risking falling down and hurting myself - and that person? i'll stand up #but if people didn't occupy disabled seats when they don't need them there would not be that problem!! there wouldn't be two disabled people #possibly without a seat!!!!#and god at the VERY LEAST abled people could leave their seat to a disabled person when there is one getting on the bus!!!! it's like the #bare minimum i'm so mad people can't even do that #i don't see this much here but i mostly take the bus in my town during not so busy hours so there are almost always free seats #i'm sure it does happen here too. and everywhere #fucking furious #nico.txt

something abt realizing you're listening to someone sing for the last time really hits in an awful way

#so there's this girl who's a year above me and to say that she's good at singing is an understatement. if the goddess of song #herself were to appear in front of me or anyone who's ever heard a note come from her mouth and asked which one was more talented the only #appropriate answer would be that the goddess pales in comparison. i first heard her voice at the auditions for our middle school musical in #the sixth grade and i've been in shock and awe ever since. it's in the name of her voice that i decided i wanted to learn how to write musi #bc i cannot sing but wanted nothing more than some sort of reason to stand next to her. and by some twist of fate. i took music theory last #semester and guess who ended up sitting directly next to me. and who i also said no more than maybe 5-10 words to the entire time. . whoops #in my (and her) defense. it's not like she's unapproachable or anything. she's one of the genuinely kindest people i've ever encountered bu #the problem is. it's a music theory class. i was the only one in it not affiliated w the music department. and everyone in it had known eac #other for 4-7 years. even my like. actual friend in the class was ignoring me a lil (he wasn't he was just hanging out w his closer friends #and so i kept to myself the entire semester bc i didn't want to feel like i was intruding on anything + am terminally shy #(like. to the point where i get physically ill bc of it)#flash forward to today in ap world w our song parody project. our teacher was showing past examples from previous classes and guess who too #the class last year. and ofc. you Do Not get [name redacted] working on a project w/out having her sing for you #her group made a stalin-themed mr sandman parody and our teacher paused the video halfway through and it was my own personal 9/11 #bc there's no good reason for our paths to ever cross again. unless she becomes some celebrity. which i have no doubt she could if merit wa #the only factor at play there. i will never hear her voice again and i'm not sure what i'm going to do abt that.#romeo.txt
