A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

- Farah's not overly affectionate, especially when there's people around, but she does give it through small gestures.

- Running her hand across your back when she passes by, patting you on the shoulder just a little bit longer than she does to the others, 'jokingly' patting your head when you do something for her etc.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

- The type of friend that has your back but also is the one to give you a hard reality check when needed.

- To be friends with her you'd have to at least be part of the military, I feel like Farah would keep civilians at arms distance for their own sake.

- Maybe you're apart of the 141 or you were hired to work alongside them and that's how you met Farah and Alex.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

- Due to time constraints, cuddling is something that's sporadic.

- But when you do get the time to, it will most likely be in the morning, after you two finally manage to get a full night's sleep and wake up entangled with each other.

- Farah's definitely the big spoon 9/10 times. (I will take no criticism on that 😌)

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

- When her country's occupation ends, then perhaps.

- But even the idea of settling down is something Farah can't afford to think about right now.

- In terms of chores, I think Farah can cook and she'd be alright with doing it that day if you prefer to clean but cleaning is definitely her preferred chore, keeps her more occupied.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

- Farah is probably as straight forward as it gets.

- Obviously she's not happy about any of this and even if the relationship ends on bad terms she doesn't purposefully want to upset you but she's just going to come straight out with it.

- She seems quite cold during it but that's just how Farah's learned to handle situations, emotional detachment.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

- Farah's pretty neutral on it.

- She wouldn't mind marrying you one day, if that's what you want, but she isn't in a rush too.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

- Suprisingly, Farah's touch can actually be very gentle even with all the calluses her hands have.

- Emotionally Farah isn't going to be aggressive nor overly soft towards you, she's mature enough to step away from a conversation if she's sees it's going nowhere and if need be is willing to readdress things once you've both calmed down.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

- Please give her a hug (In private).

- Farah is so touch starved it's concerning but keep it to a minimum since it might become to much for her if you constantly want to touch her.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

- I can see Farah saying that she cares about you to begin with instead of love but either after a significant amount of time has passed and trust has been established or a particularly dangerous situation arises that almost kills one of you I can see Farah saying it when everything calms down.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)

- Farah's eerily calm, on the outside.

- Girl has a temper and isn't immune to jealousy but she also trusts you to make it clear that you're taken/set boundaries and won't intervene unless necessary.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

- Give Farah forehead kisses now.

- Farah's kisses are quick and swift, she probably just sticks to your lips or your cheek if you two are in a semi-public place.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

- Most of the time when Farah ends up around children it's not for a good reason, all she thinks about is making sure they're safe and just feels pity if anything, especially since she knows how they feel.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

- Farah wakes up first, no debate about that.

- Since you're most likely a soldier too, if you need help waking up in the mornings then Farah is happy to help (she's probably going to tip you out of the bed 😶) but if you do wake up around the same time as her then she'd have some breakfast set up for you to share with her.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

- Farah's sleep schedule is all over the place so some nights she'll come to bed and other nights she won't.

- Farah's a rough sleeper so unless you also have the same problems then this is going to be an awkward arrangement of Farah trying to not disturb you.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

- Definitely reveals things slowly and in small parts.

- Farah would let a few things slip while you two are just friends, things you could deem as pretty insignificant but are important enough for Farah to remember.

- Anything more serious though, like her family or life before Urzikstan's occupation, would be solely for your ears when you two are officially dating and she has a lot more trust in you.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

- Farah is both calm and easily angered at the same time, it's actually scary.

- Having to bite her tongue sometimes has helped with her patience over the years but Farah's still quick to bite if pushed far enough.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

- She's probably going to remember a lot of what you tell her, maybe not everything since she's still human and is bound to forget the smaller things.

- Farah being an older sibling I know she remembers some random embarrassing thing you let slip one time, probably thinking she forgot about it when really she's just waiting to tease you about it when the times right.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

- When you comforted her after Hadir's death but didn't coddle her.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

- Like previously mentioned Farah trusts you to make your own decisions, if you can handle it she'll leave it alone but if you ask for her help she's there.

- In terms of you protecting her, just keep an eye out for her on the field, while still keeping your own safety in mind obviously.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

- Since she's probably going to end up missing a few important celebrations due to circumstances, Farah will try to go as all out as she can to make up for what's she missed.

- She'd keep your input in mind though, if you prefer a more private affair then she'd set up a comfortable evening for just you two, if you're more sociable then she's sure the other fighters would be glad to have something to celebrate.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

- Overworking herself.

- Farah's someone who wants to keep going not matter what, even if she's injured or there isn't much she can do at that time.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

- Not very concerned at all.

- Of course she makes sure she looks presentable but she's a soldier so whether she looks put together by the end of the day is another story.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

- Not incomplete, if you were killed then she'd probably hold your memory close alongside her family's, it'd be like a chasm in her chest, hurtful and crippling sometimes when she thinks about it for too long but it's not something she'll let debilitate her.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

- Probably assigns you and Alex to do some random task together when she wants some peace and quiet.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

- Someone who constantly thinks they know better, Farah's willing to take advice from some people but if you're going to undermine her or don't respect her input then she's not going to be too fond of you.

Z = Zzz (Sleep habits of theirs?)

- Farah being someone who definitely has PTSD she probably struggles to fall asleep and when she finally does she's pretty restless.

- I don't see her being someone that uses sleeping pills but she might try natural ways like counting sheep, exercising etc.

combat pilots are the glamour boys of piloting tbh (I like/am critical of this show's sprawling ambition but I'd take a BoB style miniseries just following the 332nd / 477th)

I quite like alex and buck's interactions, despite not having been terribly invested in buck so far. good chemistry? just the novelty of a new character relationship? anyway it helps when butler and turner get scenes with other people for a change. one of the best tools for character development is giving them multiple relationships; the different commonalities/tensions/chemistry are v revealing

something that would make the smp a wasteland which i have a few ideas for! zombie apocalypse Ohhhh my god would i eat this shit up FIRST OF ALL THE FANART? my god MY GOD it would be divine like absolutely insane. it couldnt be regular mc zombies bc they arent strong enough but something of the sort. i also like the idea of the egg overtaking everything which mixes both a natural disaster + zombie element (being able to lose one’s self to a “disease”) + incorporating past lore + fun red imagery. biggest criticism of this would be the fact there are already set “sides” when it comes to the egg A PRO HOWEVER is ctommy immunity 😭🙌🏽🌟 he is so. Special. he is just like ellie williams.

i honestly wouldnt mind anything as long it creates a) a common enemy/enemies b) interesting team ups/shifts in already set character dynamics c) changes the way they play on the server in terms of their resources, where they can be and how powerful each person is and d) has longevity and is genuinely interesting

Ok the whole thing w/ clogging up ao3 tags is stupid for multiple reasons, like how it fucks with screen readers for one, but the MAJOR issue is that having too many tags isn’t actually a problem w/ ao3

Like seriously guys? There is a lot to criticize. And I say this as someone who heavily relied on fandom spaces to get me through some really really hard times and still loves ao3. I can say I love what it does for fandom while also acknowledging there’s some seriously fucked up shit going on both behind the scenes and with ppl who use the site. It’s literally like saying “I love tumblr but I acknowledge there are literal nazis on here and as a Jew/human with a working brain I hate them and that they’ve been here so long”

Like. I get u think ur sticking it to the man or whatever. And idk I partially agree bc. There’s so much nasty shit and some technically illegal shit that I don’t want to even mention! But ur not even wasting the moderators time or anything ur just being obnoxious and then everyone starts discoursing on tumblr and I’m legitimately tired of it. I don’t wanna see ppl defending gross stuff and I’m tired of talking about the ppl who do defend gross stuff bc I don’t wanna remember that they exist bc I have shit to do irl and not enough space in my brain for them

So. Idk ima propose at least a temporary solution before I have to hear one more argument for or against censorship bc y’all seriously don’t understand how to have a nuanced conversation

How about instead of asking AO3 to take down gross fics (which may or may not be morally correct but will 100% reopen a very over done conversation) instead we ask for some specific plausible things

1) when you use ao3 explicit and unrated fics are automatically filtered out. They do this on ff.net. Yes it may be like 2 extra clicks for ppl who wanna read explicit stuff but ppl who don’t are going to do that anyway, and it protects the people who don’t know to do that and don’t want to read graphic tags. Most importantly it requires consent to browse explicit fics. Yeah you need to give consent to read explicit stuff, but you can look through the incredibly graphic tags/summaries without consenting to anything. It’s literally the default. Which is both upsetting to ppl who don’t wanna see that and also maybe a bit of a legal loophole they should close up

2) a “suggest tags” feature. This would be moderated by authors not ao3 staff. Basically ppl can like..... idk entire a series of tags and you can choose if you want to add them or not. The person submitting them has an option to be anonymous or not. Obviously the author doesn’t have to add every random tag and it might be annoying but it would help with making sure triggers got tagged. It would be helpful if it didn’t let you suggest tags that were already suggested/on the fic but I’m not too picky. Like I said the point of this is to make sure ppl can block stuff properly, and it honestly might also help authors with visibility bc like. Obviously you know the tags you use but you don’t know what tags other ppl look for. Again maybe it may be obnoxious with ppl having a lot of tags but people already have a lot of tags

3) a dispute rating button. Now before someone bitches at me that the ao3 moderators don’t have time to go through disputes- I know I already took that into consideration. Basically the idea is when you dispute the rating the site will ask you what rating you think it should be and anonymously log it. So if someone rated something M but you think it should be an E the site will log that and send a message to the author. The author has a choice if they actually want to listen to ppl and change the rating or not. They don’t actually have to listen to the ppl disputing the rating. Unless they get a certain amount of disputes. I was thinking maybe like 50 or so?* So if 50 ppl say “hey this really needs to have a different rating” then and only then would the moderators take a look at the fic. And the moderators would then figure out what the rating should be.

(*idk if 50 is the right #. I was thinking it should maybe work on like a percentage of your hits in the fic?)

3.5) have a sexual content marker. This is marked as 3.5 bc i feel like this idea if implemented would be misused. But yeah in theory you could just have a sexual content marker that could be clicked by the OP and then automatically filtered. Again you could use the system from #3 but again I feel like ppl would missuse it.

Anyway yeah. I wanted to give some viable solutions ppl on both sides might actually agree with. Like I get not wanting to make concessions with gross ppl, but it’s a lot faster so I’m ok with doing it for now while the rest of y’all continue to debate or w/e

Final note- please for the love of g-d learn how ratings work. Ask someone else’s opinion if you have too. I have seen so many explicit fics marked as mature or teen it’s a legitimate problem. I’ll give a quick rundown of what each rating means but pls guys

General- g- basically go by what you’d see in a Disney cartoon

Teen- pg/pg 13 - there are swears there’s violence, sex may be mentioned, you might call someone sexy or smthn idc, but no one is shown having sex or or discussing/thinking about it in detail

Mature- R - injuries/gore may be described with more detail. Uhh there could be some heavy making out and the characters might talk about sex or feeling sexually attracted to someone. But actual sex is not shown!! If you have to mention or refer to someone’s genetalia in any sexual way you should probably move it up to an E. Even if ur characters are fully clothed the entire time. Also If you’re talking about kinks outside of a quick joke or reference you should probably move it up to an E.

Explicit- NC 17- sexually explicit content. (You can put non-sexual violent stuff under here but most ppl leave it under mature)

TLDR/oversimplification(for the ratings) -

General: nothing sexual

Teen: implied sex

Mature: refrenced sex

Explicit: shown sex

General tldr:

Some criticisms of Ao3 are valid and needed, and some are just stupid and infuriating (specifically talking about the tag thing stop it’s annoying and ableist). There is constant arguments and drama surrounding those criticisms, and I decided to offer some solutions that actually have a chance at getting implemented, even if I would prefer a different option.

you'd been in bed for the past three days due to this completely and utterly stupid cold, and just when things seemed to get better, your shitty immune system decided to make sure you wouldn't digest any of the amazing food alfred had sent for you.

bless alfred, the man didn't get appreciated enough for the shit he put up with.

this time, your super busy significant other had called alfred, asking him to help and try to send some for soup or something that'd be easy for you to gulp down. alfred, being the caring old grandfather figure he is, sent some.

but of course, not before heavily criticizing jason.

now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't as though jason didn't want to stay home and take care of you, but right now the situation he was dealing with was incredibly delicate and he couldn't afford to mess it up.

besides, you'd insisted that it wasn't that bad, and you were perfectly capable of taking care of yourself.

jason also should have known you hated relying on someone and occasionally that pride and the fear of being a burden held you back from expressing the real intensity of the situation.

which got him here, stumbling through the window of your apartment.

he had like, five minutes before he would need to leave again and even though he could have stayed there, he wanted to check up on you once; you hadn't been returning his calls or contacted him the whole day.

so yes, he was paranoid and worried.

he expected you to either be asleep with something playing on the television or eating soup, but when he didn't find you in any of the bedrooms or the living rooms, he panicked.

his worst fears were slowly coming true, you were no where to be found, you could have been kidnapped, fuck, you could be unconscious right now and all because he had some stupid business to take care off, all because he wasn't home, all-

he found you throwing up in the bathroom.

jason was by your side in a blink, holding your hair back as you threw up the soup alfred had made you.

"oh hey jay," you said, your voice was incredibly hoarse like you'd been here for hours at the end, your face was pale, drained of any color and your eyes were red like you'd cried minutes ago.

guilt hit him like a truck; what the fuck was he doing out there when you were in such a bad state back home? he shouldn't have ever taken your word for it, he knew how you were.

"why didn't you tell me," he asked after helping you get up.

you managed a weak snort before breaking into a fit of coughing, "i'm fine, just couldn't digest anything. plus, you've got business to deal with."

"babe, that doesn't matter as much as you do," he helped you up, supporting your weight as you washed your face with a sigh.

"jay-"

"no," he cut you off, "you are going to bed, either you sleep or we finish watching that series you wanted to. either way, i'm staying."

his tone left you no space to argue and frankly you didn't have the energy to argue so you just gave him a weak nod instead.

he frowned softly, incredibly mad at himself for leaving you alone; it didn't matter if you weren't really sick, you were unwell enough to make him stay and he should have.

he sighed, there was no use in regretting what he hadn't done, you were still sick.

he gently picked you up and set you down on your bed, "i'll be right back, doll, okay?"

you nodded slightly before pulling the covers and tangling yourself into them, he smiled slightly before walking out of the room.

"hey," he called roy, "do me a favour and handle the meeting today? y/n is sick, i'm staying home with her for a whille."

roy groaned but agreed nonetheless, but 'i'm only doing this for y/n, they need rest, she shouldn't be home alone any way.'

jason smiled before walking into your room, where he found you staring at the ceiling.

he carefully climbed next to you onto the bed and peacefully watched the ceiling with you.

it was intresting.

anything was intresting if you were by his side.

"jay," your small voice shook him out of his thoughts, "read to me? please?"

he smiled, scooting closer to you.

Could u elaborate about the dsmp story being bad? Not a rabid/brain dead fan, just genuinely curious and I enjoy reading people's rants lolol

oh you dont know the floodgates you just opened

a few things:

1. despite not liking the creators of the dsmp anymore, I don't actually hate most of them. [the ones that are particularly unsavory fall outside of this of course] so all that I'm saying i truly mean in a critical sense towards the story, its also just all purely my opinion as someone who enjoys fictional and fantasy stories and who like criticizing works to see what it does well and what it doesn't do well

2. for clarification I'm going to use the c![name] to indicate when I'm talking about the characters. Don't get me wrong, I think its annoying too but its the only way I'm gonna be able to write this thing without getting something across the wrong way yknow?

3. I stopped watching the streams after November 16th, [save for one Techno one but I closed out after a particularly bad story beat lol] and so all information coming afterward is all second hand from either me seeing people on twt talk abt it or people dming me. All i really know is up to dream's imprisonment and some stuff past that.

4. This is mostly aimed towards the "main" story, so stuff abt the badlands, eggpire, and whatnot are briefly mentioned.

anyways uh, i'll try to be brief but also include enough information to get why i feel the way i do on some stuff across

A. Performances Alright obviously these people are all streamers, so obviously they might not be the best actors, and hell no one is even asking that of them. However, when you're telling a story that's based on the audio with the visuals kinda coming to a second, it's gotta be pretty strong. I will say, some of the best actors in my opinion are Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo. I would include Ranboo but I never watched any of his story bits or story streams so I can't say much. Wilbur and Tommy are excellent in selling their character's emotions and feelings, when I watch the stream I don't feel like I'm watching an rp but an actual thought-out story yknow? And one of my favorite Tubbo examples was in the Hog Hunt video whenever Techno attacked him, he sounded genuinely afraid and I believed everything his character was feeling.

However, unfortunately, not everyone is gonna be that good. And I'm gonna say it; Dream and Techno have to be the worst out of the entire cast. I understand Techno's whole character is this monotoned badass, however, when really emotional moments hit I feel like he never lets that fall, and a lot of intense moments just ring hollow. And I'm sorry but Dream's attempts at being intimidating leave me laughing whenever I watch them. It feels like he watched that one scene from The Marriage with Adam Driver and Scarlett Johannson and said "Oh this is what good acting looks like! Just yelling." His whole "I don't give a FUCK about Spirit!" speech isn't as great as people keep making it out to be. And whenever he tries to act coy when being a villain it feels like a guy reading the script for the first time, a bit like he's trying too hard. I have more problems with his character but his portrayal certainly doesn't help.

Everyone else is fine, and I don't feel strongly either way about a lot of them.

B. The "Lore" Okay first off, I can't be the only one who thinks it's silly that people are calling the dsmp's story "lore" when it's not, it's the fucking story. Lore indicates backstory to either the world or the characters, which a lot of the streams don't really pertain to. This is a really petty section but god it's a weird pet peeve of mine.

Other than the misusage of "lore" vs "story", the actual lore and world-building of the world are so lackluster that new elements can be introduced whenever and it often feels cluttered or not well thought out at all. And here's the thing, I feel like if the writers sat down just for a few minutes to establish world rules and general history, a lot of this could be solved! but so much is made up on the spot that it starts to feel like they're grabbing at straws to keep people invested, trying to reach that next high and intense story beat without actually earning it.

C. The Egg / Eggpire This is a pretty minor note since I was only invested in the Egg storyline for a little bit, but god it's so underused that it's almost embarrassing. Bad has provided this super interesting antagonistic force that's infecting the SMP, can control people, and who one of our main character is immune to, and it's just never used or even talked about again? Now I understand if he wanted to keep it to a side storyline only, however, to introduce this borderline eldritch creature and force within the world and then never have it dealt with is so weird.

D. The Writing Oh boy this is. kinda a big one. Now I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty obvious I have a bias for the Wilbur writing over the current team [that consisting of Dream, Quackity, and Tommy mostly]. I don't this his writing is perfect by any means, the characters constantly bringing up traitors got obnoxious after a while, and writing Hamilton but in Minecraft really isn't the modern Shakespeare or anything. However, I think his exploration of characters and plot progression was a lot more thought out and well planned, like he actually had two brain cells behind the story yknow? The current team I think fails to be as emotional or even impactful, things happened too fast and my god was everything drowned in angst for so long.

Don't get me wrong, you gotta have your characters face hardships to make them reach their goal believable, but some of the shit they put the characters through just felt like too much. From c!Tubbo's constant comparison to c!Schlatt [who btw, fucking ordered his death and kept him from his friends in a nation he felt trapped in] and on a side note, i kinda really fucking dislike the "c!Schlatt dad!!" au's or the au's where c!Tubbo inherits some of Schlatt's features, it would be like c!Tommy getting a c!Dream mask after his exile, it's feels so weird yet people eat that shit up for some reason.

But god, did c!Tommy get the brunt of it all and in retrospect after his final death, it kinda feels really fucking gross. Now obviously, I'm not trusting any of these people to write decent mental health representation, but c!Tommy's PTSD and how it was explored was just degrading. [Specifically the scene in that one Techno stream where he saw the final control room from the first war, and had a flashback / panic attack where he started calling out for c!Dream. I understand this is an actual thing people with PTSD will experience, but it felt so fucking stereotypical it got on my nerves. I actually had to close out of the stream because it made me feel sick, fiction shouldn't leave you feeling that way.] And don't get me started on how they basically reused the formula from the previous arc. [Problem introduced -> Tensions rise as things start to fall apart -> Big confrontation -> Exile -> Return from Exile -> Blowing up L'Manberg, again.]

And speaking of characters-

E. Character Arcs, or the lack of them In my genuine opinion, some of these characters' arcs are so disappointing. Especially c!Tommy's. I'm not one to believe that he was a "selfish" character or anything, however, his goals were simply set on his discs and maybe c!Tubbo, he didn't have much outside that. However, L'Manberg gave him something to care about, he gave up his discs for it and he fought for it tooth and nail, I think it taught him to open up to others and trust more. It was a great character arc for him to have, seeing him still fight even after his first exile alongside c!Wilbur, to return safely to the nation that he and his found family had built.

But then his second exile happened, and I feel like all of that was undone.

c!Tommy's exile genuinely pisses me off for so many reasons. It's not that characters can't have their low points after reaching a major change or feeling like they've "completed" their arcs or anything, but it's more of the fact that it seems like he's never going to heal that feels like a spit in the face, especially to people who might have had setbacks like that before. Progress isn't linear, sometimes things happen and you get knocked back down, it can take a while to get back up, but I don't think c!Tommy's character is ever going to be allowed to get back up. From c!Dream, who pretty much was a constant abuser in his life, killing him then reviving him, and his still fractured relationship with c!Tubbo, which by the way I have a had time believing they would still be friends after all that happened, it feels like he can never get a win and it's generally kinda a shit way to treat your characters who have been abused. Of course, not all abused characters are going to get happy endings, I'm not trying to dictate that they all should, but c!Tommy deserves one and the fact that it's so obscure feels shitty.

Side note: we still don't have a canon reason to give a shit abt the discs. Like I'm sorry but without some sorta connection to the MacGuffin why should we give a shit about him getting them other than "he wants them lol". Like hell, I would even accept the classic "they were the last gifts from his parents" or something, but we still don't have a reason.

c!Tubbo also lacks a fulfilling arc as well, from someone who started out as a yes man, he has progressed a bit into having his own interests first, but besides that sometimes his character makes me so. depressed. He's easily one of the most pushed around and hated characters within the story, all for being a kid who didn't know what to do and he's in the same vein as c!Tommy; these kids can't get a break. Also, his anti-violence beliefs morphing into the "lets kill c!Techno lol!" bit was so out of place and without proper build-up it was like. what. And now he's building nukes?? god c!Tubbo makes me so sad because he's kicked around constantly and never given a chance to grow.

Another small note, I also don't really enjoy c!Techno at all. Besides the previously stated reasons of lack of emotions when they're really needed, I find his character to be weirdly pretentious. He talks as if he's constantly been betrayed and hurt but I personally, don't see it? Like, I think one of the main examples was the Pogtopia vs. Manberg war, yknow he wanted to end the government but they just reinstated it after they won = c!Techno upset. But this doesn't make sense to me because why did he think otherwise? The entire time c!Tommy had talked about taking back their nation and starting again, so the fact that c!Techno suddenly thought there would be a sudden change is, to put it bluntly, kinda fucking stupid. I don't want to say that he "plays the victim" or anything because that feels a bit harsh, but his character feels so far up his own ass that I can't enjoy him.

I have a major grip with c!Dream as well, but that's getting it's own fucking section.

F. L'Manberg This is a quick note before we get into the, forgive me for this, endgame, of this entire rant, since the next two sections are tied together. But god, L'Manberg makes me upset because it feels like they gave up on it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that it is supposed to be c!Wilbur's "unfinished symphony", the thing that destroyed a once charismatic and widely loved man, his attempt at power that utterly ruined him. But the fact that it just got blown up in the end after everything and left to rot felt like such a waste of time. From the first war, to Pogtopia, to even c!Tommy's exile, it all felt fucking worthless in the end, and the story is actively closer to how it was when it started now more than ever. I wished it was actually allowed to exist and continue to be a peaceful place in what is a chaotic world, but no it was just snuffed out because why dedicate to this concept of finding others you can band together with and feel safe. fuck that noise apparently?

G. The Villains Now villain-wise, I'm only talking about c!Dream [during the first war], c!Schlatt, and c!Wilbur. And believe it or not, this is actually mostly positive.

Now I'm not gonna lie, c!Dream as a staring antagonist wasn't bad actually, he posed a genuine and threatening opposition to L'Manberg, even if we didn't know his real intentions or motivations as to why he was against it. He's lucky in this sense because he didn't have to be good, he had to be passable. If anything, he felt more like an anti-hero than a tyrant or traditional villain, and my god do I wish he kept this theme going forward.

Now quick disclaimer, I don't like JSchlatt as much as the next guy, he's an adult man who should know better than to joke about some sensitive topics and act the way that he does. But the one thing I'll ever give him is that damn, was he a good actor for his character.

Now here's the thing, c!Schlatt wasn't particularly deep at all. He had no real motivations behind his exile of c!Wilbur and c!Tommy other than getting competition out of the way, had no reason to act the way that he did and yknow? that's fine. The reason why he worked was from his performance alone, he was actually intimidating. When he came onto the stream and was doing his typical bad guy stuff, it was actually intense to see what he would do. Whenever he would almost catch c!Tommy back in Manberg, whenever he would begin to pressure c!Tubbo, it put you on the edge of your seat and it felt like everything would change at the drop of a pen. He's a villain to be a villain, and this works out because he's just charismatic and well put together enough to make it interesting, even without the backstory or motives.

c!Wilbur however, is much more tragic, and the best villain of the story. He essentially was the "mentor turned evil" trope and it felt terrible watching him descend into madness, unable to trust barely anyone except for c!Techno and c!Tommy. Hell, in the end I think he still cared about them both, despite losing everything. Sure, he blew up L'Manberg, but there was still a smidge of the old c!Wilbur in there made everything he did feel melancholic. His death at the hands of his father after achieving his final wish was chilling, and something I still think about.

Until yknow, Ghostbur came back way too soon to let people feel his loss as a character within that world. And then he got revived, pretty much-undoing everything that moment meant for his character lol.

And then there's the worst one:

H. Dream. I'm going to be completely honest, c!Dream is one of the main reasons why I dislike the current dsmp stuff so much. Outside of his actions as a person, the way Dream decided to write his character as this overpowered madman of the dsmp really just. destroyed any intrigue that he could've had. Perhaps this is from my growing dislike towards him, manifesting into a bias towards his character, but god I cannot fathom why people try to insist he's interesting when he has as much depth as a fucking puddle.

And here's the thing, I'm not even entirely against c!Dream being a villain, hell I think he would've been great as an anti-hero if anything. Make him sympathetic but not through c!George to get your precious "DNF" points or anything, but show him actually caring about the people within the dsmp, including c!Tommy and c!Tubbo. This would make his rival status with them just a bit more complicated, sure they're enemies, however, he doesn't want to hurt or kill them, and there's still a level of friendship there that keeps them bonded when things get super bad. This could've been super interesting to see, the first villain of the story receiving a sorta redemption arc then descending into madness as he started to fixate on being a god. This is all how I feel personally, but god do I feel like it would've been better than his current character, and hell would've worked with how he was during the Pogtopia arc, before the war that is. I'm not trying to tell Dream how to write his own character, but there are so many other ways he could've done the madman seeking to become god rather then. whatever the hell we got.

Because instead, we got this power-mad asshole who does things... because he can? And that's one of my major issues: he tries to surround his character in mystery to make him "intriguing" but it's kinda like c!Techno, it comes off as pretentious. Not only that, but you cannot keep waving around this mystery of a backstory without ever actually revealing it. I know the story isn't over, but c!Dream is effectively at his lowest point, now would be the time to reveal his backstory. But no just keep it in the dark and keep everyone guessing, that's totally fun and not at all tiring and annoying. (sarcasm, if anyone needs it)

And back to his performance, he doesn't sell this aloof, cynical and strategic warrior that has perfected the blade or some shit, he comes off as some angry guy yelling on reddit. which i don't need to tell you, isn't intimidating. It feels like he's trying to have c!Schlatt's intimidation combined with c!Wilbur's depth, but instead he's like a little brother who's trying to hard to mimic his older brother and is kinda embarrassing himself.

but other then that i dont feel too strongly abt the dsmp lol

but seriously, these are the main complaints I have abt the story tbh, I could probably talk about more but I wont because man. this is probably gonna get me in trouble if any of the hyper-dsmp fans actually read it.

The sunlight was directly hitting dark as night hair, casting a halo on a young man reminiscent of a fallen angel. Grey eyes that were most often sharp, cold, and calculating were now softened, calm, and playful. A slight smile present, Damien lulled his head back to soak up the sun’s rays. His eyes closed revealing a bright orange canvas with dark sunspots that danced like ballerinas across his eyelids. Surveying the languid movements he moved his fingers accordingly, creating a slight cold mist in his hands that felt familiar, that felt like home.

“Looks like someone’s having a fine summer’s evening.” Hazel giggled. Damien opened his eyes and found Hazel, the young & kind daughter of Pluto. She was sporting a creamsicle colored button up with orange heart-shaped glasses and a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans. She always had a smile on her face and was one of the very few people Damien trusted with his life. He had a soft spot in his heart for Hazel (as many people do). She was like a sister to him - he often mentored her to get in tune with the powers that his mother Hecate had gifted her with.

“Just chilling out.” He drawled. The late summer evenings in July were Damien’s favorite. Seeing the skies turn from a bright turquoise blue to a rust orange laden with rosy pinks, which in turn bled into a dark blue dusk brought the son of Hecate comfort.

Fellow demigods from Camp Half-Blood & Camp Jupiter invited Damien and a few of his friends to a beautiful summer’s day picnic. In fact, it took quite the bit of goading from Hazel & Nico to get the Underworld/Minor gods’ kids to join.

Damien, and his friends Xavier - a son of Eros, & Dmitri - a daughter of Hades, had accompanied him. The day played without a hitch. His friends were smiling, everyone was talking to each other, and most importantly - everyone was safe and resting. Annabeth had her girlfriend Piper laid across her lap while she softly played with her hair. Jason’s shoulder was occupied by Leo’s head which shook Jason’s shoulder anytime he laughed which everyone took note of - seeing the son of Jupiter blush was a rare yet sweet treat. Dmitri’s siblings were both playing a mythomagic game while Dmitri spoke to Perseus & Will about underworld antics that Nico got up to which Percy would certainly not make fun of to Nico’s face once this was all over. Xavier, the ridiculously beautiful son of Eros laid back to back against Frank while they both spoke of archery while munching on cookies that Hazel so kindly baked for the group.

The day was without a doubt, one of the best days they had in a long while. Everyone’s stomaches were full of delicious sandwiches, chips, sodas, & sweet treats. After a day of joy & rest they all came home which brought them to the present moment. Damien walked inside and found both Dmitri & Jason looking at the sky which had turned into a grey that mirrored Damien’s eyes.

A soft smile was found on Dmitri’s face. “It’ll rain. I can sense the thunderstorm approaching.” She found solace in the rolling dark grey skies, and unlike other demigod children, she was not afraid of a little bit of lightning.

Just as I promised, I can present you a lil simple map that ilustrates my creation process on example of Takashi and Shinuo, who have the highest number of universes among my all OCs c: I had two more but didn’t add them as these aren’t really developed for now.

Questions next to arrows are supposed to show what main thought I had in mind when I was developing each of their versions. Beware the rest of this posts as notes about each universe got quite long.

Numbers show order in which universes were created but only in their case, as sometimes they were reason to create some of the worlds, while other times they were just added to already existing world because me or @ironic-artist got sudden idea.

With names, you have to forgive us, but these are just how we call them, even if these sound weird :’)

1. About Wakfu universe I already talked a lot, but it’s basically their main universe as they were created for game and animated series Wakfu. I love it’s world and individuality of each race. Here, here and here you can read about Takashi and Shinuo’s whole story. Takashi in here became a guard to make sure his father’s attempt to make their home island safe won’t go to waste and to prove himself. Shinuo, haunted with guilt for everything he was forced to participate in by his kidnappers and being aware of his healing talent, became skilled healer.

2. Basically their story thrown into modern world but because of how orphanages work and how cruel reality can be for orphaned children, it got named “bad” as Takashi turned much worse compared to his Wakfu self. Angry and impulsive Takashi decided to answer with violence to all his problems, like bulling or feeling alone and misunderstood by everyone around. Shinuo spends most of his life in hospital as stress and loss of family made his immune system issues worse. But he grew up greateful and decided to become doctor himself.

3. Purely made to enjoy our characters be happy, which in their case resulted in “what if they parents lives and could raise them?”. One of the universes where they aren’t separated for so long, but they went to different schools as Takashi is more interested in physical activities and Shinuo’s more interested in science, biology and medicine. Slight conflict frows between them because Shinuo is their father’s favourite, being the smart one. Result of me being mean, as most of the time it’s Takashi taking the spotlight :’)

4. Direct follow-up from Bad Gakuen, in which Takashi had been given a guardian by court after he badly beaten one of his classmates, but in this au, this one event got changed to more serious. Shortly speaking, Takashi got drugged during a party in the club so one of his classmates could get revenge on him by beating him up and getting some photos of him drugged. What they didn’t expect was for it to work as additional fuel for Takashi’s impulsive personality. He lost control over himself and it ended in such severe damage done to that kid, thet he died in hospital. Takashi instead of getting a guardian, got a sentence for accidental manslaughter and spent 4 years in youth detention center. It started a series of events that led him to working in mafia when he got out of it at 21 y.o. He also cut Shinuo out of his life to protect him from himself, but Shinuo’s been too stubborn to give up on him. After over 2 years of searching, he refused to let go of his crother no matter the cost and started working for the same group as Takashi, but as underground doctor, while still working legally in hospital.

5. We just like elves, so we created a world in which they’re both elves born in noble family, but with quite clash as Takashi’s all about seeing humans as inferior, but Shinuo tries to help these kept as slaves in their country- direct result of many wars and people taken captive by both sides. Shinuo also got more spotlight in that universe. In order to really help those in need, he had to stand up to their own father so he can organize a clinic which is a cover-up for hiding spot for humans and then mingle in politics to make laws a bit easier on humans, which helped him get some of them out of country, back to their homeland.

6. Au made mostly for entertainment rather than actual plot, but it’s funny to match all these characters and somehow make that circle of gods work :’D

7. Some of characters you can see in previous post and in links I gave there. Characters here have little to do with their original story versions but are rather kept intact with their personality. Takashi and Shinuo lost their parents of course, but as orphanages are almost non-existent in this universe, they were left in the streets. Shortly after were separated when their parent’s murderers tried to finish their job. Takashi ran away, while Shinuo got rescued by city guards. Afterwards Takashi worked in bar with casino despite being underage, as typical errand boy. Here he met Hidemichi who later took him in and acted as his older brother. Shinuo stayed on streets, unable to find his brother and got cared by group of gypsies and homeless people, who decided to stick together in their attempt to survive day by day. As a young teen he discovered he has some sort of healing powers, which helped this lil community greatly. This fact put him in the centre, being heart of the group and acting as sort of leader as young adult. He met Takashi while he was under Hidemichi’s care, but decided to stay with his new family, after Takashi insulted them. It’s also one of two universes in which Takashi cannonically ends up with Hidemichi, for who he fell as young adult and had a hard time with convincing Hidemichi to give it a chance despite their age difference and past connections.

8. In this one Takashi and Shinuo died with their parents, but their souls turned into yokai, about which I talked here. Takashi’s Yokai of Luck and Shinuo’s Yokai of Health c: They got included in main story when Shinuo got turned into demon by their leader, Shadow. Takashi cooperates with Shinigami trying to get his brother back, but we didn’t develop more of it for now. Whole idea had it’s root in my thoughts about some sort of evil version of Shinuo, who’s always such cinnamon roll in other universes~

9. Similar to happy gakuen and elve ones, this universe goes with idea of their parents being alive and them being raised as nobles, but with piracy included. All characters are aged-up so it makes sense for them to be where they are, Takashi being capitan of his own ship, serving in royal naval fleet and Hidemichi to be experienced pirate. Their relationship got very complicated as they stand at opposite sides, but while Takashi’s very serious about his duties and raised in respect for authority, while Hidemichi’s carefree and treats Takashi as rival rather than enemy, even falling for him in meantime. Which makes it second cannon universe for them together, as Takashi later gets doubts about good and evil sides and spares Hidemichi’s life despite being ordered to finish him after he got finally caught.

10. Just as question stated, what if they were androids of the same model but different kind designated with different purpose, in the world where androids are at inferior position compared to humans and struggle to survive? To be precise, they were prototypes that didn’t fulfill their designers’ expectations and were supposed to be taken apart to save parts. They attempted to ran away and got damaged in result, Shinuo getting critical hit and being unable to go with Takashi, who managed to get away. Shinuo was taken to the waste dump as his parts were qualified as too much of a problem to harvest after taking damage. His sight stopped working, his hearing got worse, his memory malfunctioned as well as sense of balance and he couldn’t leave on his own. In the end he was found by Rizou (by @ironic-artist) and slowly put back together despite it being very time consuming, because Rizou simply liked his rare albino appearance. Usually Rizou was coming here to harvest parts from androids damaged beyond repair and sell them or use them to repair androids in his workshop, till he found lil gem waiting for someone to help him :’)
