It's always shocking to me how people who have no experience whatsoever writing for film or television always assume they're better writers than people who do it for a living.
Just because you like to write your fanfiction or even if you write published works, that doesn't mean you are better than professional writers who create content for a living.
And just because you think your ideas are fascinating and entertaining, that doesn't mean the audience or general public will. I'm all for believing in yourself, but some of you are clearly delusional, arrogant and ignorant.

An AU based on something that just happened to me (my traumas my fics xD)
Liberashipping, lovers to friends to lovers again, maybe Mpreg?
Yugi and Marik had a relationship a long time ago, in that relationship they had two children, due to differences in how they wanted to lead their lives they decided to separate.
Yugi stays with the children and Marik leaves, for many years Marik only maintained communication with his children and saw them occasionally when Marik returned to the city, he and Yugi only saw each other when Marik wanted to take the children somewhere.
One day Yugi becomes seriously ill, his children (who are now old enough to work) take him to the hospital, the doctor who treats him says that he needs emergency surgery, they register him and transfer him to the pre-op room.
Yugi comes out of the surgery well and stays hospitalized for a while to recover. Marik, for some reason, feels that something is wrong and for the first time in years calls Yugi's cell phone directly.
They have a talk to catch up on things and how work and life have been going, then Yugi tells him that he is hospitalized and why, Marik promises to go visit him as soon as he can get back to Japan, Yugi tells him that It is not necessary, the call was enough.
Yugi leaves the hospital a month later, his oldest son looks for a job that allows him to go out or be absent if necessary to be able to take care of Yugi, his youngest son reduces his class hours at the university and takes care of the game store and also takes care of of Yugi to stop Yugi from doing something.
Marik returns, and not only that but he buys all the medicines that Yugi needs and also other things so that he is comfortable while he finishes recovering.
Marik leaves again, but now he constantly keeps in touch with Yugi, more than with his own children.
On his youngest son's birthday he calls Yugi's phone, congratulates his son and then starts talking to Yugi, they talk for three hours, they laugh, they gossip, they remember the past and then Yugi drops a comment:
I was never jealous or prevented you from doing things
That hits them both, because they probably never stopped loving each other, they simply wanted to do different things with their lives and decided that it was healthier to be separated to avoid fights, misunderstandings and that one of them will start to hate the other.
Ishizu realizes his brother's internal debate, with many years of experience she tells him to do what he considers right and to make his heart feel light.
Marik thinks, the things that prevented him from staying by Yugi's side are no longer a problem (freedom, discovering the world, doing things that he would not have been able to do if he had stayed), he is older, he is old, and returning to who he considers his home makes him feel warm inside.
Marik goes to Japan, to the game store, when he knocks it is Yugi who opens it, when he sees Yugi's big eyes half closed due to the sleepiness caused by the medications, he knows that it is the right decision.
"I think going back to Japan is the best, so I can see you three." Marik knows he can't go back just like that, he has to win Yugi back.
When Yugi notices Marik's intentions, he has his reservations because he has already lived a large part of his life without him, he had other partners and has dedicated himself to his career as a game creator and his children, he never need someone else and Marik was a memory.
After a long time (really long), Yugi decides to give Marik ONE chance, an opportunity that Marik exploits to the fullest, showing Yugi that this time he is not going to fail or leave his side.
