Why do pairings in Star Wars have to be so tragic?

Nomi Sunrider x Ulic Qel-Droma: not even mentioning that Nomi was a widow…the Sith War ruined everything, and after the war someone insignificant murdered a great man redeemed

Revan x Bastila Shan: Revan gone for 300 years, leaving a wife and a not-yet-born son behind

Anakin Skywalker x Padmé Amidala: Anakin fell to the dark side, Padmé died of a broken heart

Han Solo x Leia Organa: two children died, one of them had even waged a war once

Luke Skywalker x Mara Jade: Mara killed by her nephew

Got tagged by @mimabeann and @swtorpadawan, my thanks to both of you for the tag!

3 Ships

Canon Ship: Think I gotta go with Mulder and Scully. Though nowadays I really only ever watch up to the first movie (Fight the Future) as the show's writing really went downhill after that point.

OC Ship: My Jedi Knight / Alliance Commander Ryscha Kine with Lord Loyat (my version of her anyway as she has such a small canon presence) and Lana Beniko.

Ship of the Week: Jazz Fenton x Jason Todd. I have been on a big Danny Phantom / DC comics crossover kick and I adore what the crossover fandom has done with these two as a couple.

1st Ship: Oh that was probably Tahiri Veila and Anakin Solo from the Junior Jedi Knight books. I loved them as a cute little kid couple and being a little kid myself I also projected hard onto Tahiri.

Last Song: Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears

Current reading: Yeah... it has been a while since I finished reading a book though I have started a few

Last Film: Can't remember the last film I saw in theaters. But the last new film I saw was Prey (2022) which I loved.

Craving: Some good fish and chips, specifically fried catfish. The place near me that I used to go to for my fried catfish fix closed down last year and there are no other good seafood places near me.

do you ship anything heterosexual at all or are all of your ships about some fetish of male ships, many that aren't even gay?

Tell me you don't follow my blog without telling me... also I'm grabbing the word "fetish" and putting it on a high shelf until you actually learn what it means because if you think people of the same gender being in committed relationships is a fetish, you should maybe go outside and have a human interaction for once.

STDCI Anakin x Tahiri, Pre Yuuzhan Vong War is relatively the same childhood friends-to-lovers, with the addition that they meet during a stop off Luke was making on Tatooine, connecting further through Tahiri’s apprenticeship to Luke and Anakin’s to Ikrit and Corran Horn.

But the Yuuzhan Vong War arrives, and while Anakin lives through it, both they and Tahiri just...drift away from each other as they need to process their trauma from the War. Anakin becomes a Junior Senator for New Alderaan, then succeeds Cal Omas as he becomes head of state. Tahiri goes on a force/vision quest at partially alongside Jaina and an OC of mine, reconnects with her roots and Tatooine, and both get mental health treatment.

Then of course, Anakin has a particularly interesting week, and after the third assassination attempt, is assigned a Jedi bodyguard. And thus, Anakin & Tahiri enter each other’s lives again.

37 ABY Anihiri’s dynamic is two people who would’ve been a perfect couple a decade ago, but now they’re looking at someone who’s permanently and drastically changed since then, someone who’s as much as a stranger as they are familiar. And so have you. But there’s enough of the old them to attract you, and the new them is an intriguing person. You want to find who out this person is. You want to find out who you are. You want to see who Anakin & Tahiri are.

And slowly, you find you love them as deeply as you once did.

Soaring (Tahiri Veila x Anakin Solo)

So I watched The Bad Batch and now my brain is nothing but Star Wars. I have happily gone through all the prompts I've reblogged here and started writing little blurbs. Requests are still open!

You’ve said you’re going to leave, but I don’t want you to go and if I don’t say something now…

Tahiri stood at the end of the ramp, one foot on the cool metal of the Falcon, the other with her toes still curled around the grass of the landing field. Anakin and his father were still waiting for Jacen and Jaina to come back with their things, but Tahiri knew that if she moved another inch, she wouldn't be in control of her words and actions.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she watched Anakin explain the nuances of the debate between the Mon Calamari and the Quarrens. His ice-blue eyes shone in the setting sun and his hands darted back and forth to illustrate his explanations. Tahiri begged the force that he wouldn't sense how much she loved watching him explain things.

"...Of course, Mom could totally handle this all by herself, but she says it shows Mon Cala how important this debate is to the New Republic if we're all there. But I'm pretty sure she needs us to keep dad awake during the proceedings." He said.

"I'm sure you could help too, if your mom needed it," Tahiri put in, "You're good at coming up with solutions that no one else does."

Anakin grinned back at her, and was it just her imagination, or did he blush?

"Hi Tahiri!" Jacen and Jaina approached the Falcon with their duffel bags slung over their shoulders, waving goodbye to their friends watching from the hangar bay. Tahiri frowned, she'd been hoping for at least a couple more minutes alone with Anakin.

"Ready to go?" Jacen beamed up at his little brother. Jaina gave Tahiri a hug that was almost instinct, and Tahiri couldn't help but return the embrace with fervor. She'd be lying if she said that one of the benefits of being so close with Anakin Solo wasn't the friendship of his brother and sister.

"Yeah," Anakin sighed, despite being so excited about the debate just a moment ago, "I guess I'll see you later, Tahiri."

"See you later, Anakin, I love you!"

"Love you too!"

Tahiri didn't realize what she'd said until Anakin replied in kind. And then both Jacen and Jaina were looking at them with the smuggest Solo grins Tahiri had ever seen. Anakin's face was so incredibly red beneath his honeyed mop of hair, and Tahiri thought she would evaporate from the heat she felt in her cheeks.

"Krakana got your tongue?" Jacen ruffled his brother's hair before darting deeper into the Falcon to hide. Jaina took after him with a cackle.

Anakin took a step to run after his older brother and sister, but stopped himself, turning to smile back at Tahiri.

"I can't wait to get back," He told her.

Tahiri inhaled sharply, and ran up the ramp. Before he could react, she placed a quick kiss on his cheek, and ran back down. By the time Anakin had processed what had happened, the ramp was closing, and his father was yelling for him to strap in.

"I'll see you when you get back!" She waved as the ramp shut.

Her heart was still beating powerfully, but with each beat she felt lighter than air. She was fairly certain it took off with the Falcon as it soared over the Massassi treetops, up higher and higher towards the gas giant of Yavin.

Me: He was 16 when he died, but I was 7 when I fell in love with 11yo him!

17yo sister: He's not even a canonical character anymore.

Me: I don't care about Disney's retcon!

Best Friend: So he's fictional, non canon, dead, taken and too young for you now...

Me: But the only one who love him more than me is his canonical soulmate!

“After hours spent on pleasant pursuits, the friends gathered on the shore and talked until the sky began to grow dark. The topics were light, and the silences comfortable. They spoke of the Rock Dragon, the Lightning Rod, Lowie’s T-23, Jedi tales and legends that Tionne had told them, the rebuilt temple, and favorite planets they had been to.

In the wake of one long silence, Jaina said, “I wonder what’s next for us. Do you suppose all Jedi trainees go through the sorts of adventures we’ve had before they become full Jedi Knights?”

“After all we’ve been through together,” Jacen replied, “I’m not sure anything in the future could surprise me.”

“Ah,” Tenel Ka said, turning to him, “Aha.” Then she kissed Jacen firmly on the mouth.

“So...were you surprised, friend Jacen?” she asked, with a twinkle in her granite-gray eyes.

Lowie gave a bark of laughter at Jacen’s astonished expression.

Zekk chuckled and put an arm around Jaina. “I don’t know what the future will bring, either. But I’m looking forward to it- and I’m pretty sure it won’t be boring.”

Almost as one, the other young Jedi Knights replied, “This is a fact.” “

Do you think, if there’s an April fools day in the Galaxy far far away, would Jacen make silly jokes to Tenel Ka as ever, would Jaina boop Jag on the nose, would Tahiri play a prank on Anakin, and call him a dummy afterwards?

Would it be the best day for Face, the best and the worst day of Wes, and the worst day ever for Wedge?

Would Luke and Mara joke with each other, and end up laughing and kissing affectionately? Would Han try to play a joke on Leia and fail miserably, as they are again doing their lovely little argument about who’s outsmarting who?

And imagine instead of saying “April fools”, people will repeat what Grievous has said to Obi-Wan…“You fool!”

And Obi-Wan would continue his lecture on “who’s more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows him?”

If so, then this universe could be a lot happier than it was before, even when it can only last for a day in each year.

20. what’s a ship you don’t want to roleplay at all with this muse?

Depends on the muse. But some of the ships I have no interest in are: anything incest (I include Bossk x Boba in this because in my portrayal Bossk was a father figure to Boba), Goran x Women, Medrit x Women, Anyone x Palpatine, Galen x Vader, Maulkie x Vader, Merrin x Fret, Voe x Luke, Tahiri x Luke.

21. what do you think of your muse’s popular fandom ship?

Not many of my muses have popular fandom ships. But here's the ones I know do:

S4bedala: sometimes used for people to self insert on a ship with Padme because they have Sabé sticking around after shit she wouldn't have stuck around for, the fans tend to have a disproportionate hatred for Anakin for no real reason other than that he is the one that ended up with Padme in the end. I had to block two blogs centered around this ship because they popped up with the shinigami eyes tool (TERF detector). Very nice ship when done right (almost never done right).

T4hiri x Anakin Solo: sweet childhood romance that ended in tragedy and fucked her up for life. Beautiful. Would have been even more beautiful if the writers hadn't centered Tahiri's entire arc and personality from that point on around feeling guilty because she refused to give Anakin a kiss before the mission and he ended up blowing himself up with the force.

D1nluke: A crack ship in the sense that it's clearly never going to be canon, the shippers are either the chillest or the most annoying people you'll ever meet, it's a Russian roulette. You have high chances of running into a fic where Din is written like a rough and tough Latino man stereotype, but that's also true for a lot of content involving him romantically/sexually.

Hanl3ia: same issue with D1nluke but this time the ship is canon, the shippers are either super chill or annoying as fuck. Leia is seen as the perfect most special girl who can do no wrong, meanwhile Han is the guy that's lucky to have gotten her to even look at him. Go into a blog centered around this ship and you have a high chance of reading the blandest, most surface level takes on Darth Vader you've ever seen.

Qu1nobi/Ob1quin: Childhood friends to enemies to friends again to star crossed lovers ftw! They complement each other nicely because Obi-Wan is much calmer than Quinlan and Quinlan reminds Obi-Wan to not be so structured all the time. With this ship you're one typo away from ending up in the other ship tag that involves Qui-Gon, so thread carefully.

22. what do you think of your muse’s canon ship, if they have one?

G4len x Jun0: I like them but sometimes Juno makes me mad. I know she's trying to help Galen most of the time, but her "you're still just Vader's slave" line always pisses me off, that's not how you help an abuse survivor fresh out of the abusive situation, Juno.

G0ran x M3drit: I love them. They're just perfect and complement each other so nicely. They're too kind for the galaxy and situations they live in and I respect that. The only thing that would have made their relationship better would have been adding Boba and making it a polycule.
