One of my recent Jason posts has people talking about how valid a writers portrayal of a character is if that writer hates that character which is an interesting conversation specifically when it comes to Jason bc in case you didn't know a lot of writers do not like Jason but also a good few of the writers who hate Jason have also written some of his better stories
Basically what I'm saying is someone should make an alignment chart with one line being how much a writer loves or hates jason and the other line being how good the writer is at writing Jason

As much as I love fics where pigsy finds MK on the street and can’t bring himself to call the police wether that be because he thinks MK’s parents abandoned him or he thinks MK will be sent to foster care, I do wish to see more fics where Pigsy gets police and doctors involved but in the end is met with a cold case and more questions than answers. I’d love to see Pigsy trying to get a DNA test on the child he found only to be refunded and apologized to because the test “didn’t work”, putting up “found” posters all over town before taking them down because he thinks anyone who lets their child run away naked and doesn’t run after them shouldn’t be a parent, I want to see Pigsy do everything he can to find out what happened to the kid and watching the world give up on them as years pass.
but more then anything I want to watch people try and make sense of the child from nowhere and no one.

I'm rewatching Infinity War and I want to address one of the key criticisms I hear of it which is: Steve: We don't trade lives, Vision. Also Steve: *takes the fight to Wakanda where a lot of Wakandans die* First point - even if they had destroyed the Stone when Vision first suggests it, the army would have no way of knowing that. They would have come for it anyway. Or even if they did know it was gone, Thanos surely would have sent them to Earth anyway for vengeance. Point is - Earth is getting attacked either way. Wakanda has the best defenses and weaponry in the world. Not to mention that Steve didn't just rock up and start fighting and force everyone else to get on board - T'Challa agreed to make the stand against Thanos there, even knowing the risks to his people.
Second - it's a thematically sound choice. Throughout the entire movie, we see that the good guys aren't willing to sacrifice love for the big picture. Loki won't let Thor die, Wanda and Team Cap won't let Vision sacrifice himself, Gamora can't bear to see Nebula tortured. The only person who is willing to make that personal sacrifice for 'the greater good' is Thanos. He thinks big picture only. The ends totally justify the means. What does one small life matter if he's saving the universe, even if that person is someone he 'loves'? And then we get Stephen and Tony. Even after declaring that he will let Tony or Peter die before handing over the Time Stone, Stephen realizes the value of one life - Tony's life - because it's the one life that will make all the difference in the end. Yes, it's important to keep the end goals and the greater good in mind, but we can't do that by bringing untold harm and suffering to individuals. The Avengers win because they're not Thanos.

finished my first Disco Elysium playthrough today and it was SO good, but having barely more than 1 point in any intelligence skill has left me with so many unanswered questions that at first I thought were just the game world being presented as *mysterious*, but then realised "actually, maybe if I had put literally a single point in Encyclopedia, i would have known what the pale is" :´D

Given how Awakening's main theme is the bonds between each other being the most important thing of all, the way Kellam gets treated feels even more strangely mean-spirited
"The bonds of this army are its true strength and able to change fate itself. Anyway here's a member whose punchline is that he gets ignored by the entire army. If he leaves, nobody will notice he's gone for years, same thing if he's dead"

In the course of development, most children learn that their worth is conditional on good behavior, moral or religious standards, academic or athletic performance, or undecipherable factors they can only guess at. In the most severe cases, the child’s subjective reality is so consistently denied as having any importance to others that the child doubts the validity of his or her own perceptions and experiences. Rogers describes this process as “acquiring conditions of worth” and the resulting self as “incongruent.” For persons whose own attempts at self-definition and self-regulation have met with harsh conditions of worth, the act of voicing a preference or a feeling or an opinion is the first step in establishing selfhood and personal identity.

2022 ended up being the year when I got some nice things, one of them was attending a convention in London where I met my absolute fave of all, Sam Claflin; and I also got Ben Barnes' autograph. Both of them were very nice, Ben is on the chatty side, Sam is more quiet (or more like, not quiet but he's not one to speak first). Another contrast between them is: while I'm still not sure about the colour of Sam's eyes (and I looked into them), there can be no doubt about Ben's eyes!
