SPOILERS FOR THE LATEST ASC BOOK!!!

I finished the book last night and it was so good!!! I know I’m gonna forget a lot of things I wanted to talk about while reading it but I’ll try to add them all. Also it’s gonna be a bit messy because I’m just writing about things as they come to mind, it’s not at all organized haha
First thing, IVYPOOOOOL!!!! She’s finally the deputy!!! And she better not die now or I’m burning my entire warriors collection.
I’ve already seen some people mad about her becoming deputy??? The reason I’ve seen so far is that she’s too immature because she still holds a grudge against Dovewing for joining Shadowclan…. In Sky or Shadow (can’t remember which one) there’s a whole chapter of Dove taking Nightheart to Shadowclan to try and make amends with his family, and while she’s there Dovewing and Ivypool happily spend time together. I haven’t seen her act bitter about Dove leaving this entire series, they’ve been nothing but nice to each other so not sure what that’s about? They made amends shortly after Dovewing left, proven by the new ultimate guide.
Secondly, I love Sunbeam and Nightheart so much!! I’ve never been that interested in romance in warriors, I’ve never really had a favorite ship, but they’re so cute together!?! It’s not just “I love you *acts romantic or whatever*” they do cute and silly things together, which I feel like most relationships haven’t done? Or I’ve forgotten. But just little things like Sunbeam teasing Nightheart about eating frogs while he spent time in Shadowclan, and at the beginning of Thunder, this entire scene is so cute
Bayshine began to wash his face, then paused and blinked at Sunbeam. “Did Nightheart tell you about the time he put a live vole on the fresh-kill pile?” he mewed. “He thought he’d killed it, but when Squirrelflight picked it up, it bit her on the chin.”
Myrtlebloom purred. “What about the time he got stuck in the Sky Oak?”
Heat spread through Nightheart’s pelt. “Okay, okay.” He waved his tail at his two friends. Would they mention how many times he’d failed his assessment next? “Sunbeam doesn’t have to know every embarrassing mistake I made when I was an apprentice.”
“Yes, I do.” Sunbeam’s whiskers twitched. “I want to know everything about you.”
They’re so cute!!! I know a lot of people don’t like the ship, especially since Nightheart keeps leaving her, and I agree he’s SO FRUSTRATING, but at least this time when he chose to help Frostpaw he had Sunbeam in mind (..and being famous, it’s definitely Nightheart haha), thinking she wouldn’t have to choose between fighting TC or SC if the war was prevented as Frostpaw promised. He also suggested Tree mediate and try to solve their problems with sunbeam in mind. I feel like with time he’ll mature, as his problem seems to be he’s just really immature right now, and he makes really dumb decisions, but it’s kinda funny lol
Brambleclaw and Squirrelstar being kind to each other and treating each other with respect was also nice to see!!
Myrtlebloom, Bayshine, Finchlight, and Sparkpelt are all so kind to Sunbeam, I love them so much!!
I also loved the scene Berryheart stormed in being a Karen and the entire clan defended Sunbeam!
Ivypool is such a good deputy!! She’s so patient and understanding, and the first task she gave Sunbeam was so cute and so fun to read!!! I really hope Sunbeam and Nightheart both get to mentor one of Spotfur’s kits, then either Myrtlebloom, Bayshine, or Finchlight get the other! They’d probably have a lot of fun training them together I think!
Sunbeam confronting Cherryfall after treating her badly, then attempting to sabotage her final task was also a really cool part! Cherryfall slowly beginning to respect her after that was also really nice.
I’ve seen people are upset over Sunbeam’s entire character being about how much she depends on Nightheart and has no character other than loving him unconditionally despite him leaving her and stuff, and this is one of the many reasons I disagree with that. She remained in Thunderclan, stood up for herself, made friends, and even came to find she preferred Thunderclan to Shadowclan. She stood up to her mother, to Cherryfall, she tried to make amends with her friends, she didn’t need Nightheart for any of that. It took her some time but in the end she was confident Thunderclan was her home, not because Nightheart, but because she was happy there. She isn’t simply staying to be with him, while suffering and being homesick.
Now onto Frostpaw! I feel so bad for her. I love her relationship with Riverstar though! I hope she remains a warrior apprentice, but it would be cool if despite that she visited Riverstar often through meditation, it would be really interesting! I also love her friendship with Whistlepaw!
Her journey with Nightheart was super cool, it was really funny how Nightheart kept forgetting Frostpaw wasn’t a medicine cat anymore, and was training to be a warrior, and she kept forgetting he wasn’t a Shadowclan cat anymore and went back to Thunderclan.
I love how much they’ve focused on family and friendship this arc, Lightleap, Bayshine, Myrtlebloom, Whistlepaw, Splashtail (kind of?) as some of the friendships, and then Berryheart, Sparkpelt, and Curlfeather, Graypaw and Mistpaw, Spiresight, and Finchlight (Bramble and Squirrel were also in Night’s chapters quite a bit!!) the protagonists in this arc are less focused on ONLY the problem(s) other protagonists, and their love interest, and more on their relationships inside the clan. This has definitely been one of my favorite arcs to read and I’m gonna be so sad to see it end! I hope in other arcs they continue to focus on these things more
Another really fun scene was Frostpaw playing find the shell (I think that was the name) with the park cats!! I want to draw that scene so much! (And many more..) I just need to find the time haha
Nightheart and Frostpaw’s friendship has been fun to read about! Wafflepaw was cute too! I’m so curious to know what his warrior name is gonna be!! Im also curious who Frostpaw has decided for deputy!
Frostpaw finding out Curlfeather had been apart of the plan all along was so sad, but we also got a better description of Curlfeather, so that was cool! All this time I’ve been seeing her with round, curled ears, I was not expecting her to have small sharp ears with tufted fur at the end. I’m definitely gonna make sure I do her ears like that in my design!
Also Frostpaw getting fixed was NOT something I expected at all. Poor Frostpaw.
I don’t think I’ve brought this up yet?? So last thing, Squirrelstar!! Im gonna be honest, I wasn’t really excited over he possibly being leader, I didn’t care if she was or not. She’s a character I can’t quite figure out how I feel about her, she was fun in the first three books in TNP, but in the last three books I couldn’t stand her, I loved her in POT, then somewhere along the series she was annoying again. I guess it just depends on which series it is. But she’s actually been SUCH A GOOD LEADER!! I’m definitely happy with the writer’s choice to make her leader! And I hope she continues to be as good as she has been in this book, and she and Bramble can live happily and peacefully together now. In ASC a lot of their conflict always seems (to me) to be about Bramble giving her orders, and her getting upset and going against them, which annoys me a bit. (if anyone doesn’t know what I mean I can go a little further into that and give books and page numbers for the places I’m talking about!) Bramble doesn’t really seem like the kind of person to be difficult just because he doesn’t want someone telling him what to do, so I’m hoping now that Squirrel is leader instead the conflict will end, hopefully.
This book was great! I’m excitedly waiting for the next!

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always! Oh man alwayyyys. I am so grateful for anyone who takes that extra moment to share something they liked or a thought that popped into their head. Truly. It's a special kind of reader that leaves comments. They really are the fuel that keep me going! Especially on my long fic I feel like I'm getting to know some of my readers and I love the discussions I've gotten into about my blorbo and her interactions with canon characters. OR just canon characters!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Probably Fractures. I wrote it especially for Whumptober and in it Cullen's obsession with Samson led to a throwdown in Emprise that nearly left him dead and Rose is understandably at her wits end with him. They have 'make up sex' that does nothing to resolve any of the feelings of betrayal and abandonment and anger that Rose feels.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Probably The Commander, the Tevinter, and a Bottle of Lightning a Cullen & Dorian, Cullen POV fic where Cullen's romance with Rose Trevelyan seems to finally be coming to a head at long last.
7. Do you write crossovers?
Not yet! Probably won't though.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
The closest is maybe vocal dislike of an original character. He's a competing love interest though, so I get it. People have their preferences and want to nudge me a certain way.
9. Do you write smut?
LOLLLL yes. 4 of my top 5 above are explicitly smuts and my long fic has 4 at this point. My friend @nirikeehan says "be the smut you wish to see in the world" so I try to write joyful, consensual, authentic feeling smuts that also capture the awkwardness/silliness/normality of sex. My hope is that someone reading it who isn't quite experienced with this stuff gets to see a really positive, realistic portrayal.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I can't show my whole ass in the midst of a multiship long fic, so I will keep quiet on this one 🤐

A Splinter of Light (my Rose and Dorian get stranded in the future during In Hushed Whispers Nightmare!AU fic)

Believable dialogue and banter, authentically drawn characters readers can root for, lively descriptions

PLOT. It's just always been a struggle for me. World building too. LISTEN. There's a reason I'm writing fan fic LOL. Though I recently got Scapple (from the Scrivener makers) and it has been a game changer! I'm using it for my long fic and my other major WIP Kiss Me Moonstruck right now.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I've done it for a few select lines during Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts, mostly to underscore how bad Hawke is at speaking Orlesian. But generally I will just note when a character is speaking in a new language.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Dragon Age! I stumbled into it a smidge over a year ago (after playing for 9ish years) and love it so much!
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Cullen/Bethany Hawke
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh man, barring my long fic which is my baby and still in progress it would probably have to be my new Cullen POV fic Thirst that digs into the lead up to his crisis during the Perseverance quest.
But Kiss Me Moonstruck is my Hawke x f!Trevelyan MatchmakingMoms!AU WIP set during DA2, Act 2 and mannnn nothing makes me smile and laugh like this fic. I can't wait to publish it!

Hils Watches The King's Avatar - Ep 40
It doesn't feel like 5 minutes ago that I started this drama. It's so very bingeable.
It's been a real journey. None of this has been what I expected beyond the very basic concept of 'it's a drama about esports'. There have been so many wonderful surprises. There are characters that I hated that I now love, characters that I loved that I now love even more, and more ships than I ever expected to ship.
While I'm at it I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has popped up in the replies to my posts or in my asks to either answer my questions or just yell about their favourite characters. I can tell this drama (and the novel and donghua) are so well loved and liveblogging this has really felt like a community experience. Thank you for not laughing at all the stuff I got wrong and for not making fun of me for shipping everyone. It's really been so wonderful and I almost don't want to press play on the final episode because I don't want it to be over.
But I need to see what happens so let's go!
Ah, okay. I misunderstood what happened at the end of the last episode. I thought they'd lost the game but no they could still win they just didn't have enough points to win the championship.
Is there going to be some loophole like the whole 'oh the ref's watch broke so actually you won'
HAHA! I fucking knew it! They got an extra two points for beating a league record. Because apparently that is a rule that has never been mentioned until now.
Eh, whatever. There was a nice moment with the fans before the found out they'd won

And finished! That was wonderful! Definitely in my top 5 dramas that I've watched this year. Might even be the number one, actually. I definitely should have watched that years ago when people first told me to give it a try. But, you know, I firmly believe you find things when you were meant to find them. Now was good.

I started my writing days in Overwatch and most of my fics are from that era, but most recently, I've written for Star Wars, Baldur's Gate 3 and Arcane.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
A New Era - First Jayvik fic I wrote, and somehow it's at the top of the jayvik ao3 tag by kudos even though it's mindrot I wrote between episode breaks. Sorry long form jayvik writers ;;
Lost Time - life-affirming jayvik sex after the s1 finale. I'm just now realizing that all my top kudos fics are jayvik LMAO
Opposites - jayvik fic where someone talks up Viktor at a party and Jayce gets jealous.
Arcane Ficlets - my randomly assorted Arcane stuff I wrote via tumblr asks. All jayvik too 😂
Warm Heart - Viktor has cold hands but Jayce knows just how to warm him up.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! But sometimes it takes me months to get back to people. Once the inbox number ticks up I get a little nervous ;; which only makes the problem worse!

I tend not to write anything that ends too angsty. I have one or two that have a sort of bad-end vibe. Usually I'll write an angsty ending then delete and rewrite. LOL
Maybe this silco/viktor fic: Back Down? Since Viktor knows he shouldn't be messing around with Silco but he's so drawn to him.
Runner up: one of my ramyatta fics Stargazing because it shows the difference between their past relationship and the present at the end, where they are no longer together. t _ t

Probably Encore, since I wrote it because Outer Wilds canon endings beat me up so badly. LOL

Very rarely!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Almost always. Any kind, basically. LOL I love pining and unestablished relationship like crazy, and both characters just falling into sex with each other. Blow jobs, possessiveness, breeding kinks, ritualistic sex, size difference, voyeurism, smell stuff, sex pollen, outfits... a VERY wide range. 😂
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I almost never write them. I think I have written a few fics that just takes characters and puts them into another game's setting, but that's about it.

Not that I know of?

Yes! Most I had one of my ramyatta fics translated into chinese. I've also had my only symbrock fic made into a podfic.

Not really. I've done a fic with bluedaddysgirl that was Thrawn/Cad Bane, but mostly I collaborate with artists to do illustrations of my work. I did some RPing back in the day, but none of that's going to see the light of day LOL
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Probably genyatta? But honestly, I have so so many. Obimaul also has a special place in my heart.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
My last year's nanofic. It was an AU where Bo-Katan never saved Obi-Wan from Mandalore, so he remained Maul's prisoner. It was going to be a what if where Maul realizes he doesn't know what to do with Obi-Wan now that he's finally exacted his revenge, and they would slowly fall in love while doing powerplays the whole time. LOL It was a bit weird because I had to write it so fast, so a lot of the fic was just Savage and Obi-Wan interacting, so it almost made it seem as if they would be the better pairing TBH. It just needs so much reworking and IDK if I have the power. It probably just needs an entire re-write.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I feel I'm very good at condensing ideas into short word counts. I also think my sex scene writing, specifically my dirty talk, is pretty good! That's one of those things that I can't stand to read if it's bad in fanfic, so I try to make what they say as in character as I can. 😳
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing anything longer holy shit. I'm really terrible at it because as soon as I have to deal with pacing it's a death sentence for my motivation. 💀💀💀
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
It can be done well? But only if you are a fluent speaker. I personally don't do it because I'm an idiot who only knows one language, and I don't want to mess up the mood of writing by accidentally making an embarrassing gaff in another language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
In my life? Probably Kingdom Hearts. On my ao3 account: Dragon Age: Inquisition.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Definitely Polite Company, my Obimaul reverse AU fic. It's the longest thing I've ever written and posted. SUCH a comfort fic to me, and it was a blast to work on. There's just something so fun about writing Jedi Maul that I still can't get over it. The ideas kept coming for that fic which almost never happens for me, and somehow it was fairly well received, which I'm just so ridiculously grateful for. I'm always surprised at how much Obimaul isn't a main pairing for Obi-Wan when they have such ridiculous chemistry. Not even 600 fics on all of ao3 for them💀💀💀 A crime!!

Three ships: whoever thought three ships are enough is just downright evil
1. Destiel (Dean Winchester/Castiel from Supernatural). The finale of the show made me lose interest completely in anything Destiel related, I even stopped reading fanfictions about them, but I gotta put them in the list anyway because so many years I've spent obsessing over them. They used to be my OTP, don't think they still are, but they deserve to be here, I still love them even though it was mostly fanservice.
2. BakuDeku (Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku from Boku no Hero Academia). Now, I admit, in the past I thought whoever shipped them was downright crazy. But here I am. One of them had such an amazing growth, which changed their relationship as well, and I just love that, I love the more a relationship change, and they're the epitome of that. From childhood friends, to enemies, to having to work together, to friends (and to more in fanfictions and in my silly mind). So yes, a fairly new ship all considered for me, but I already love it so so much.
3. Ineffable Husbands (Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens). Choosing a third is awful because I love so many ships, but they deserve it. They have so much bickering, just like an old married couple, and that is something I love a lot. Give me bickering and I'm in. Also all that happened in season 2, painful but so good, yes please, can't wait for season 3.
(Please forgive me for not including Lestappen but they would have been in my top 5 if this was a top 5 ships 😢)
First ship ever: ...so this is weird. Because I found out I basically unconsciously shipped Merthur when I was around 9 or 10 lol (I hated seeing Arthur with Gwen, especially kissing scenes, and instead loved all his scenes with Merlin). But my real first ship is probably NaruSasu, although my first fanfiction was about Goku and Vegeta (which is funny since I don't even ship them and I never have).
Currently craving: money, always money. With money I can have books and visit places so money (hopefully finding a job soon would be good enough too).

It's one I haven't even started posting yet. It's a Gallavich soul mate AU where the pair have special gifts centered around eye contact. Mickey can see soul mates and Ian severs soul mate connections. I'm absolutely in love with it but I'm also kinda struggling to get through it. 😭😭😭
15. What are your writing strengths?
Word limits. I love the challenge of trying to portray certain emotions or situations in a limited amount of time, and I feel like I'm really good at it. I don't have to get caught up in details, I can just make my readers feel in just a few sentences.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Pacing lol. I don't have patience, I always end up rushing my ending.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
2 situations. If the POV character doesn't speak the language, I try to limit it to things that can be easily assumed without need for translation. Expletives, nicknames, or recognizable phrases. Unless, of course, the POV character is meant to not understand what is being said. And 2, if the POV character speaks the language, I'll usually have them translate in their thoughts. I just want the reader to be on the same level of understanding as the POV character.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. That was way back in the day. I posted my first fic in 2010. 🤣 On my current account, it was Six of Crows.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Hooo boy. Doctor Who comes to mind. I'm obsessed with the idea of Fourteen and Jack Harkness meeting again. I've always wanted to do something for Criminal Minds. I'll probably dip my toe into Supernatural, too. I've done drabbles for Mungrove, Harringrove, and Harringroveson, but i'd also like to do full fics for them. Idk, I've always got too many ideas.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i think it’s the third entry of the tides series, ornery, scandalous & evil. ngl pretty much all i had in mind was that i wanted it to be angsty and cram together as much characters as possible. i think it worked lmao. it also helped to set background on said characters too — like helaena and her kids, daeron and daemon. and the arrival of the very expected lucemond baby which was kinda ruined by luke. oopsie
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
weirdly enough, i think the grace of a rotting corpse is the happiest one. of course circumstances aren’t looking good, but both luke and aemond are tucked away in their happy little moments (which are kind of gross), and as long as alicent doesn’t know, they’ll be fine.
Do you get hate on fics?
lol the first time i posted omega aemond i got flooded with weird comments that suggested i was somehow disrespecting omega luke (??? 💀) but after that, everything was fiiiiiine.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
i do, the freaky kind— mostly because i like building up ‘intense’ scenes that end up in smut one way or another lol. the smut itself is just smut, but i enjoy the gymnastics around it.

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
oof. born from delicate violence maybe? listen, that fic was my baby. i loved it and i loved writing it last year, but as weeks went by i got into some bad thoughts and realized that this fic was written at an specific time of my life that i didn’t necessarily want to remember, and between the things to remember, was the inspiration for this fic. i still like it and i do think i still have the original doc for the finale, so perhaps i’ll post it one day, but i feel like posting an ending that’s not even properly edited just for closure will not make me feel right. i also don’t want to post anything that i consider lackluster, since i know a lot of people followed the story last year.
besides that, i had this lucemond thingy in the docs that was very angsty, during the dance era and all. i wrote an entire summary and started the first chapter. i finished and then i just didn’t like the idea anymore, so i left it there.
What are your writing strengths?
not sure about this one. i’d like to think dialogue, or maybe to set a scene. i’m very passionate about setting scenes lmao
What are your writing weaknesses?
definitely typos. also, i finish writing something, i read it a couple of times more to ‘edit’ then post it, so i feel like i don’t spend much time actually editing it ?? hopefully that makes sense. i don’t know how to write fluff without making myself cringe either, so it’s a constant battle
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
in fics that are not mine? i love it. for example, in hotd fics we see a lot of high valyrian stuff and i love when other authors use it as a creative resource. if translations are not available on the fic itself, sometimes i look up the word, sometimes just go with the context of the fic instead. the same with other languages; i don’t have a problem with it. now, writing it for my own fic is a whole different story. i don’t have the patience to add high valyrian in my fics, i prefer to dodge it or just refer to it instead lol. besides english i speak spanish, and if i feel a fic needs dialogue in another language, i’d choose spanish right away instead of trying to use a translator and butchering the poor language.

omg i have no idea. i’m pretty sure it’s between marvel and some creepypasta fanbase.
Favourite fic you've ever written?
so far, my absolute favorite is mean bad dog. i love aemond’s clinginess and instability. i love luke’s moral dilemmas and how he tries to fix it all in his head. yum

Last night’s encounter with the Mandalorian had left you a bit shaken, but also very frustrated. When you woke up the next morning, you weren’t sure what to expect. But, he didn’t say anything.
So, you got ready for the day, taking the child with you as you began to make yourself useful. You weren’t sure what all your new job entailed, so you just began to tidy up the ship. The cargo hold needed some major reorganization, more than what you had time for today. Instead, you decided to work with instead of against the organized chaos for now, keeping an eye on the kid as you went.
After a few hours, you decided to take a break and feed him. The child cooed happily as you gave him his food, but he was soon finished.
The silence made you uneasy, and you fidgeted with your hands, unsure of what to do. You had been on the ship for a few cycles now, but you still felt like an outsider.
The Mandalorian was standing to your left, his attention focused solely on the gadget he was toying with. He hadn't said a word to you this morning, and you were beginning to wonder if he ever would.
The child, on the other hand, was wide awake and squirming in your lap. You smiled at him, tickling him gently. He gurgled happily, his big brown eyes fixed on yours.
You couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Mando's head. He had entrusted you with the care of his son, yet he seemed to be keeping you at arm's length since last night. You wanted to get to know him better, to understand him. But he was making it difficult for you.
“Why don’t you ever take the helmet off?” you said softly, fingers absentmindedly rubbing circles over the child’s ear. You knew it was a mistake as soon as you saw Mando visibly stiffen. He was frozen, unmoving. Part of you wanted to reach out to him, but another part of you said differently. You were afraid he would shatter under your touch.
The child made a noise in your arms, and you looked down at him. His eyes met yours, and both of you shifted your gazes back to the form standing in front of you.
The Mandalorian finally moved, turning around to face you. You wished you could see his face in order to gauge his reaction. The question had popped into your mind so innocently. If he now trusted you enough to look after his son, to be intimate with you, then naturally you would want to see his face.
He broke the silence. “This is the Way,” he said sternly, walking past you towards the other side of the ship. You felt the air whish past you, and his cape grazed your arm as he moved. You turned, confusion evident on your face.
“What?” you turned your head to him, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion. He paused, and his visor pierced through you.
You’d never heard that phrase before. You had tried to remain humble in your career, but you also knew when to exhibit your knowledge. While you weren’t as well-versed as your previous professors on the subject, you could hold your own in academic circles. The child babbled, and you acknowledged him by patting his head gently.
You weren’t going to say anything else. But then, your curiosity got the better of you. You cleared your throat, and the Mandalorian turned to look at you.
"What does that mean?" you asked, trying to keep your tone casual.
Mando hesitated before he spoke. "It's a Mandalorian creed," he finally said. "A way of life. We follow the Way to survive and protect our own."
You nodded slowly, understanding beginning to dawn on you. "So... taking off the helmet goes against the Way?"
"Yes," he confirmed. "To let one see my face means I would no longer be Mandalorian."
You couldn't imagine what it must be like to never take off your helmet in front of another. It seemed so restrictive, so suffocating. But at the same time, you tried to respect his culture and his beliefs.
"I see," you said softly. "Thank you for explaining it to me."
The Mandalorian nodded, and you could feel his eyes on you even though you couldn't see his face. He took a few steps toward you, removing the child from your arms and beginning back towards the ladder.
“We’re almost there,” Mando said to him, and you watched endearingly at their interaction. He began up the ladder, and you smiled softly.
You watched him go, still thinking about the weight of his words. This was the Way. It wasn't just a phrase or a creed, it was a way of life for him. And you had just stumbled into a world that was so different from your own.
As you watched the Mandalorian climb up the ladder and disappear, you couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. You had been so close to learning more about him, yet he had shut you down with only a little explanation. It wasn't the first time he had done that either.
You had always been fascinated by Mandalorian culture, studying it extensively during your academic years. However, your education had clearly never touched on this. You had never heard of whatever religious group that this Mandalorian belonged to. You tried to come up with another possible explanation, but your thoughts only went to the splinter groups of Mandalorians that used to dwell on Mandalore’s moon, Concordia.
You wondered what else you didn't know about him. It was frustrating not being able to understand him fully, to be able to comprehend why he lived his life the way he did.
But then again, maybe that was part of the appeal. The mystery and intrigue surrounding him were what drew you in, like a moth to a flame.
You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts. You couldn't afford to get too invested in someone who clearly didn't want to let you in. But the way his eyes had lingered on you before he left... maybe there was hope for a future conversation about his people. You figured the only way this would happen was if you were to initiate it again.
For now, you had a more pressing matter to attend to. With a deep breath, you climbed up the ladder and into the cockpit, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

The stop for fuel was brief. You couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to your earlier conversation than he was letting on. While Mando was fueling it, you didn’t leave the ship, and he was back aboard after a few minutes. You had never heard of this planet, anyway.
You sat behind the pilot’s chair. Your mind briefly went to the events of last night that took place in that very seat, until your thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
“Only a few more days in hyperspace until our destination. We’ll have one stop between to fuel up again.” You hadn’t noticed the Mandalorian until now. He didn’t bring the child up here with him.
You clasped your hands in your lap, and nodded to show that you understood. Wherever this destination is, it’s sure as hell the farthest possible place from the Mandalore system.
If Mando noticed your uneasiness, he didn’t say anything. You couldn’t help but feel your emotions start to simmer.
After a few more minutes of nothing, you couldn’t take it anymore. Maybe it was his general evasiveness, or even the fact that he’d barely said anything to you after how things were left the previous night, but something in you snapped.
"You're telling me that you'd rather live your life according to some code than experience the world around you?" you had asked, incredulous at his rigid adherence. The Mandalorian responded almost immediately.
"You don't understand," he replied, his voice clipped and defensive. "The code has kept me alive this long. It's the only way I know." He sat down in the pilot’s chair, but turned it so he was facing you.
"But you're missing out on so much," you countered, feeling frustrated with his stubbornness. You challenged him. "How can you truly experience life if you're always hiding behind that helmet and refusing to engage with others?"
"I don't have time for attachments," he shot back. "I have a mission to complete, and I can't afford to be held back by distractions."
The silence that came after was deafening as he turned the chair back around. You couldn't help but feel angry with him. You weren’t even sure why you decided to pick a fight.
The ship rose into the air, and within seconds it was out of this world’s atmosphere and into the never ending abyss of space. The planet was behind you, and the only light in the cockpit illuminated it dimly. Minutes ticked by, and the tension in the small room was becoming more and more suffocating.
Even though you sat there stewing for a bit, you couldn't help but admire the way the stars reflected in his helmet, making it look like a constellation all its own. For a moment, you forgot all about the argument and just sat there, taking in the beauty of the moment.
Then, it dawned on you. Heat rose up to your neck, and you felt a pang of guilt in your stomach. It almost surprised you how intolerant of his “Way” you had been. If you wanted to learn more about his way of life, that sure was the wrong way to go about it.
Yeah, his words stung. But you were going to have to apologize.
Taking a deep breath, you spoke again. When you did, his head turned sideways. "Look, I'm sorry," you said, your voice softening. "I didn't mean to be so critical of it. It's just that, as an archaeologist, I've always been fascinated by different cultures and ways of life. And yours is something I've never encountered before."
The Mandalorian didn't reply, but you could feel his eye on you, even though you couldn't see his face behind the helmet. "I know it's not my place to judge," you continued. "And I don't want to disrespect your traditions. I just...I want to understand them better. And I went the wrong way about it." The words just spilled out, and you feared he wouldn’t accept your apology. Anxiety riled your stomach, but you tried to keep your breathing even and your body still.
There was a long pause, and you thought for a moment that he wasn't going to say anything at all. But then he spoke, his voice surprisingly gentle. "I understand," he said. "But it's not easily explained.”
You nodded, feeling chastened. "I get that," you said. "And about the last thing, I-”
“No,” he cut you off. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Okay,” you said quietly, unsure of what to say next.
The Mandalorian nodded, and then turned back to the controls.
You felt a sense of relief wash over you. The tension in the cockpit had dissipated, and while there was still so much you still didn't understand about the Mandalorian, you knew that you might have the chance to learn more.
A silence settled over the two of you, but this time it was more comfortable. Mando eventually activated the hyperdrive, and the world outside of the ship went from darkness to being streaked with different shades of blue.
You watched for a while. Having never left your home planet until a few years ago, you didn’t think you could ever get used to space travel. Especially traveling faster than the speed of light. And now, after accompanying a bounty hunter and his son on their ship, you only felt more out of place while aboard a ship.
It was so silent, actually, that you didn’t realize you were beginning to fall asleep. You rested your cheek against the chair, and after just a few minutes, nodded off.

You awoke to being laid onto your cot by a pair of strong arms. When you opened your eyes, it was pitch black in your small room.
Then, you heard a small hiss, and the sound of something being placed on the floor.
You stirred, alerting the Mandalorian of your consciousness.
He didn’t say anything, but by his movement you could tell he was somewhere to your left.
Your heart squeezed in your chest at the thought of him carrying you to bed. You kicked off your shoes, trying to get more comfortable.
A hand, you guessed, grazed over your cheek and to the side of your face. You noticed, though, it was ungloved. You soaked up the feeling of the pads of his fingers grazing over your skin.
You reached your hand up to feel his face, and he let you. His skin was smooth, until it met rough scruff that covered his jaw. You tried to map it out, remembering every detail, but you knew whatever picture you came up with in your mind would be inaccurate. Finally, your thumb grazed over his lips. You made another mental note of the mustache there, and then he leaned down to kiss you.
Your heart soared. His plush lips met yours without a sense of urgency or expectation, and you returned his slow movements with ease. It was gentle, and didn’t go any further. You stayed like this for a few seconds, but the moment was soon over. An apology, you thought.
He pulled away, and you felt his breath on your face. You silently said your goodbye with a squeeze to his shoulder, and he sat up. You heard him shuffling, the hiss of his helmet again, and the door slid open.
The dim light from the entry room poured in, and you winced a little. The Mandalorian was standing now, facing away from your cot. His body projected a large shadow across the room.
“Goodnight,” he said, his voice filtering through the vocoder. In an instant, he was gone. The door shut, and you were left in the darkness, replaying the events of the last couple days in your mind.

Omg, thank you for replying to my ask. (*/ω＼*) Yay so excited to hear about your Lokane fic! Such a Heraklean effort! I have a similar problem with a novel-length WIP, actually near the same emotional peak and I really think it must be that last final push that's almost harder than anything else - in a way I don't want to finish mine! I had a similar rule about not starting other WIP's so I have a document where I've amassed everything I'm not writing, and that's helped me a little because it feels like I've 'done' something so I can do other stuff haha.
Regarding Solas/Lavellan: don't worry about a disappointing response, to be totally honest I was a bit worried you already didn't like it (though wanted to know what emotional chord didn't work for you), but the fact you're not familiar with it is almost kind of better!! It's one of those pairings for me that manages to hit the epic romance notes and actually consummate the romance and then affirm the narrative importance, which is already pretty hard to do with a video game (and often times I'm left disappointed by pairings grounded primarily in potential). I can't really reveal too much about Solas because learning about him is the journey but if you like your trickster god/vulnerability/concealed pain/the dinan'shiral (the Journey of Death) that love endures against etc. it's all there. A non-spoilery detail I like about him is that sometimes when he talks he speaks in iambic pentametre or the musical notes of Hallelujah, so there's a poeticism to him and subtlety to his character execution that I just love.
I think the only drawback to Solas/Lavellan is that because it's a game it's more of a time investment and you also need the Trespasser DLC for full effect, but honestly you can watch it on YouTube lol. There's a lot of lore that enhances the pairing as well. I don't think you need to really play the first two games to 'get it', but I generally enjoy Bioware games and I think they're both fun experiences. The Solas/Lavellan romance also doesn't have an awkwardly animated sex scene, if that puts you off like it does me, though it's not entirely lacking eroticism.

Also, as one final departing remark, yes, I'm actually the same regarding genuinely Nice Guy/Ingenue/Bad Boy, but I don't really gravitate towards that dynamic because it can come off as a bit superficial to me and I cannot STANDDDD love triangles unless it was only ever a matter of who she 'should' be with versus whom she really wants, it has to be true love soulmatism or I cry!!!

Yeah, I pretty much know some memes about Solas and that he apparently betrays the PC somehow. And people debate his motives and level of sincerity a lot. But I know so little about the plot that I've forgotten most of the details I ever came across. Poetry is a selling point! but I really can't say whether I will vibe with the ship or not based on what I know. The sad murder boy really has to hit a specific way for me.
Yes, exactly! I feel exactly the same way about love triangles. I talked about this before, but I hate them unless they're the forgone conclusion kind where it's not about who she actually loves (because this is never in doubt), it's about whether she's going to choose love over pragmatism or whether true love will conquer outside circumstances, etc. I think it was in my first ramble about Fated to Love You, which is a great example. All three characters know Mi Young is in love with Gun, the tension is always about whether they will overcome both the internal and external obstacles separating them and take the risk for true love or if she'll settle for playing it safe in a platonic pseudo-relationship with Daniel where her heart can't be broken.
If there's genuinely romantic feelings for more than one person and the middle point is not just in denial about where their heart lies, I'm out lol.

#I see a lot of people complain they don't like love triangles bc both branches are clearly not equally valid options#but yeah that's the only way I tolerate them#when the dichotomy is idealism/pragmatism or true love/duty or scary true love/safe complacency then it's a great device#because those are great character struggles and set us up nicely for True Love Conquers All#but 'I don't know which boy I like better' is the worst fucking plot of all time#if that's really what's in question then I don't care you are boring#the triangle has to be actually about something else or it can fuck off#the conflict for me needs to be about whether the soulmates will get to be together and fully realised as people#not 'will this mundane relationship (other options are available) work out okayish?'#go big or go home#'we're compatible but I could take it or leave it' is the death knell for my interest in a ship#when people write fic like that about my OTPs it's the most weirdly demoralising experience#bring me the massive emotions and spicy melodramatic devotion or bring me death#there's nothing worse than beige unromantic romance#it's better to go way over the top than to be '''realistic''' like that

Summary of May:
I don't know how this month went by so quickly. The last two weeks have just been brain static lol
Um… it looks like I spent most of the time trying to get myself to finish that bridal alt and then got stressed by other stuff happening which I have not gotten on top of or recovered from. Not a great month for studies, but I managed to get at least a little bit done and started catching back up with my Ges Draw Party videos, so… I'll take it
I am happy that I've been exercising more though! Even got one of my 'started walking in one direction and accidentally walked nine miles while exploring' days in, which is one of my all-time favourite things to do and which I really should do more of. Anything over 10k steps in one go is sooooooo good for my mental health. Also been having fun playing Ring Fit and running outside.
Plan from April:

JUST DO IT ✗ however have been trying to use face photos more for perspective, do hair studies ✗ doing better at this tho, decide whether majority of piece is going to be dark or light and base contrast around that ✓, draw out ribcages (+ shoulder bones) for every sketch ✓, use photo/RL reference for EVERY HAND - even doodles ✗ but most of them + using reference WAY better this month by trying to take perspective into account , do a separate detail pass the day after ‘finishing’ something ✗ too impatient lol, use photo reference for folds ✓

heath: bad line quality (I thickened some of the lines in a really scribbly way), armour not correctly 3d, folds don't make sense, still not sure of structure of torso
b/odhi: bad values makes it hard to look at (too much contrast), figure not conforming to perspective in places, hand is awful, doesn't look like he's sitting on the boxes because of where the horizon line is, messy/scribbly lines on the ship, ambiguous positioning of up arm vs the thing that's supposed to be to the side of it
lyon: hair is kinda clumpy in a bad way (needs flyaways or something along the length of hair sections, I think), torso anatomy nonexistent lol, I don't know if that's where ears are supposed to go
mid/een: not happy with the expressions I ended up with, m's legs look too long even though he should proportionally be ok??, lack of shoulder anatomy knowledge intersected with lack of perspective knowledge and made his arm look really weird BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHY, shaky adherence to horizon line, a's far wrist is way too small, her torso is also all kinds of messed up, had trouble reconciling anime stylised face + actual real face anatomy (flat vs. planes of face), HOWEVER I think the rendering came out pretty nicely and the bow was surprisingly straightforward to draw. all the things I'm annoyed about here are, I think, the result of me hitting my skill ceiling and not knowing enough to solve problems - so I am trying to be more okay with that xD
ACTIONABLES: draw out ribcages/shoulder anatomy for every sketch, trace heads + ears for placement, study Otomo 3/4 faces, draw box in perspective + horizon line (at least H.L.) before placing characters, keep tracing shoulders

Final fantasy 7 is probably one of the only game i payed money for that i experienced it's story within myself for the first time(that's kinda complicated 😅)

If your'e watching the Persona 5 Royal verison then you dont need to watch the other one. 🙌 Persona 5 royal version is basically an updated version of the OG one where they added more story and characters and it really rounded out the whole game plot wise so you should definitely stick to that one. do you have a favorite character yet?
visual novel games are the best and worst, they take so much of your time but they are so so good I can't just stop. I remember playing collar x malice and Bustafellow in 4 day and 7 days respectively. I have dongaronpa but haven't played it yet 🙌 its on my list

Morning!! I’ve finished season 1 of stranger things. It was okay not the best first season of a show I’ve seen but still good. Joyce is awesome. Love her.
I’m definitely going to be buying more books, I usually get a few from charity stores and they always have good ones!

Y/n hummed as she folded up the last extra blanket and stashed it away into the chest at the end of her bed, finally finished cleaning up the girls cabin. Stepped back a bit, she looking around the room and rubbed her hands together, slowing wondering what to do next. It's not like she worked up a sweat, it was just a bit of light cleaning so a shower wasn't needed. She had read most of the books that Robin had been bringing onto the ship, save for the ones she didn't care for. Y/n couldn't help but groan a bit as she sat on her bed, already feeling the boredom creep up on her. The rain outside wasn't letting up and it would be a while before the sunny reached the next island. Playing with the ends of her shorts, she sat in silence for a moment, thinking. At least until she heard thumping approaching the door to the cabin. Sitting up a bit she stared at the door. "What th-" "Y/N! ARE YOU DONE CLEANING YET!?" Luffy busted into the room, soaking wet from the rain, and slamming the door shut as he shouted at her. "Luffy! What the hell, you're soaking wet!" Y/n went to stand from her bed, but Luffy had already made his way to her, practically throwing himself onto her and wetting her own clothes.
"Nami said she was tired of hearing me whine about being bored, and that Sanji and Robin were probably tried of it to, so she kicked me out the kitchen to find something else to do." Slipping his arms under Y/n, he rested himself onto her chest and shifted his legs to rest in between her own. "I told her you were cleaning, but she said You should have been down by now and to check anyways. So, are you done?" He looked up at her from between her chest, smiling as he begin running his wet hands around her back, watching the way that Y/n's blushed worked its way up from her neck to her cheek and ears. "W-well, yes, but what are you wanting to do? Surely Usopp has something you can work on with him?" Squirming under Luffy's body, Y/n's gaze seemed to go every where but Luffy's face. He groaned before shaking his head, digging his face into the soft flesh of her bust, the water from his hair dripping on it. "Usopp is working on something with Franky, and they kicked me out when I almost broke something." He mumbled, moving his hands to run over her sides, softly groping the plump areas he could touch with them.
Biting back a moan, Y/n closed her eyes, squeezing them shut as she tried to compose herself. "What about, uhm, Zoro? Can't you train with him?" Luffy was begin to shift, gently swaying his hip side to side, and starting to move his hands to her hips, pinching the soft flesh between his fingers when he felt like it. "Zoro's sleeping, I already checked. Jinbe is busy and so is Chopper and Brook." Luffy lifted his head, pouting at her. "YYY/nnn." He whined out, bringing his face to her face and nuzzling his nose against hers. "Are you trying to get rid of me? I Just want to spend some time with you." Y/n bit her lip, a muffled moan as Luffy grabbed her hips, pressing up against them with his own, lightly grinding. "L-Luffy, you'r- that's, uh-hum!" She moaned out, her face red and her chest rising up and down rapidly as she tried to catch her breath. He sat up, looking at her, and moved his hands to rest beside her on the bed instead of on her. "What?" He whined. "You don't want me to stop don't you?" Luffy frowned as he watched her face somehow flush a deeper red. "Do I have to? You're just so soft, and it feels so nice." He brought his hands to cup her stomach. "L-Luffy!" she grabbed his hands, squeezing. "It's not that, it, uhm!" Y/n couldn't think it felt nice, amazing even to have Luffy paw at her the way he was. Moving his hands farther up, bringing them to just under her chest. "You don't really mind do you? I promise I'll make it worth it!" Luffy softly pleaded. "Please Y/nnn?" Y/n shudder, pursing her lips she looked at Luffy and nodded.
