Toh fans who shit on Hunter for being a white boy because they think that means he's not representation for anyone are...dense to say the least.Hunter being white and a boy dosen't mean he's not still a 16 year old who up until a few months ago in canon had spent his entire life being brutally abused by his uncle while also being put him on a pedestal by him,which left him with pretty obvious ptsd and a few other trauma based disorders too.There are countless people who grow up being abused and gaslit by their family members and end up with them because of it and not to get tmi but i know because i'm one of them and i see myself in Hunter as a familial abuse survivor as much as i do Luz as an afro-dominican bisexual girl and Gus as a black mlm and Raine as a poc who's transmasc and nblw and so forth.I'm not sure if i'd go as far to call abuse victims minorities like how poc and lgbt people are but we ABSOLUTELY face discrimination too-Victim blaming,having our experiences brushed off because of how normalized family members abusing eachother is,those 'm*mmy issues/d*ddy issues' jokes that are based off making fun of us because our parents don't love us so much that they straight up decided to constantly mistreat us-so we deserve representation too,which Hunter is.And he's very good rep too because he's potrayed as in the wrong for what a jerk he was at first but never demonized for it becuase he's not like that for the sake of it,it's a trauma response and he's 16-a child,not an adult who's fully aware what he's doing is wrong,because nobody taught him how to be kind until Willow and his found family came along-All he had was Belos treating him like he's not a person.Also,it's worth noting Hunter is also not conventionally attractive-he has a tooth gap,a hooked nose and scarring from the abuse he went through-and is heavily neurodivergent-coded(personally as someone who is all of them,he feels very autistic,adhd and as having anxiety to me)which only adds to my point that he's not 'representation for no one'.There's many types of representation and abuse survivors being allowed to have the consequences of what we went through shown in us but still being kind and potrayed as not deserving what happened to us and finding people who give us the love we never got is a very important one.You beefing with a fictional traumatized person who's not even old enough to have graduated high school dosen't change that

when i first watched it as a kid i remember just really really really wanting to be like austin and a few years later i hit puberty and realise that im a trans guy and it all makes sense. still want to be like austin though.

also the friends are all autistic, ally and austin have adhd (maybe dez too?) and autin and dez are trans. i dont make the rules it just is.

GOD. BANGER.. austin (& ross lynch in general) just gives me so so much gender euphoria and was the major reason i started questioning my gender again. wanna be him so bad
