A Helping Hand... er, Brush
Loba x Wraith. Wraith needs to put on makeup for a talk show interview, but has no idea how to do makeup. Fortunately, a certain lady notices, and lends her a hand. (1.2k words. @soulheartthewolf kept ya waitin huh?)
âHnnnng⊠dammit!â
Wraith sighed, closing the makeup kit and resting her chin on her palms, staring at her face in the mirror. She honestly had no idea what she was doing.
Her eyeliner was smudged and sloppy, her eye shadow was overdone to say the least, the contour looked like it was done by a three year old trying to fingerpaint, and she had no idea how to make her eyebrows âpopâ like the email asked. Not to mention the fact that she didn't even attempt to do the mascara.Â
The only thing she knew how to handle with makeup was the primer and the foundation, but that was only because she had to, to be on camera for the games. Besides that, she knew next to nothing about makeup. Besides the fact that the new girl definitely knew her way around itâŠ
âHaving trouble, meu bem?âÂ
Right as she was thinking about her, Lobaâs voice comes from behind her, getting louder little by little as she approaches. Wraith glanced at her, before looking back at the mirror. âWell, saying Iâm struggling would be an understatement at best,â she confessed, âAnd a lie at worst.âÂ
âAw, bebĂȘâŠâ Loba sighed, Wraith feeling her fingers going across her shoulder. She sat next to her, on the counter. "You aren't usually the makeup type. Are you going somewhere⊠fancy?"Â
"It's for an interview," she answered quickly, trying to hide the frustration in her voice. "Talk show type thing. The email they sent specifically requested 'non-arena attire,' makeup included. And I know next to nothing about that."Â
She grabbed a wet wipe, removing the botched attempt from her face as best she could. She then hung her head, sighing. The interview was only in a few hours, and she had no idea what to doâŠÂ
Loba hooked a finger under her chin, gently lifting her head up to face her. "HmmâŠ" She was almost scanning Wraith's face, thinking something up.
She blushed, not quite used to this kind of attention. It felt⊠weird, but⊠nice. "U-uhh, what are you" She stammered, Loba moving her head to look at all the angles of her face.
âDonât move,â Loba ordered, going to her area. Wraith heard her moving things around, searching and mumbling, before a triumphant âAha!â Loba reemerged, sauntering over like she usually did. She dropped a pretty big handbag on the counter, smirking. âDo you mind if I take a crack at it, amor?âÂ
Wraith seemed confused, looking between Loba and the bag, before settling on staring at Lobaâs⊠gorgeous face. â...You⊠want to do my makeup for me?âÂ
âOf courseâŠâ She gently drags a finger along Wraithâs jaw, making her shudder. âI never want a girl to think sheâs not worthy of the camera.â
Wraith blushed cutely, tearing her eyes away from Loba, but not her face. As to let Loba do her work, of course. ââŠWell⊠go ahead.â
Loba immediately got to work, pulling out⊠something, and gently dabbing it around her cheeks, forehead, nose, and under her eyes. She pulled out a brush, wiping around those same areas. âOnce Iâm done with you, I promise, the first question theyâll ask is who did your makeup.â
ââŠLoba⊠you really donât need to do this,â Wraith mentioned, as Loba pulled out another brush. âSeriously. Iâm sure they have a makeup artist-â
âWould you prefer highlighter, bronzer or blush?â
ââŠHuh?â
Loba pulled out three⊠discs with a color inside them, one a paler color, one pinkish, and one that was a darker color, but similar to the first. âWhich one do you think would work the most with your skin?â
Wraith hesitated, before pointing to the first one. âThat one, I⊠guess.â
Loba nodded, putting the other two away, and gently brushing some of it along her left cheek. âAmor, would you rather have a random person whoâs never met you before attempt to make you beautiful, with no consideration for your input?â She switched to the other cheek. âOr someone whoâs fought alongside you in battle, who knows your strengths and weaknesses, your personality, and who does understand that you have an opinion?â
Wraith paused, blushing a little, not quite expecting this level of⊠intimacy, even from Loba. ââŠI⊠well⊠Iâd prefer the latter.â
âExactly,â Loba responded. She proceeded to pull out a palette of various colors that Wraith recognized as eyeshadow. âDo you want purple or red?âÂ
She pointed her eyeshadow brush at a bright red, which definitely wouldnât work, and at a darker purple⊠that kinda reminded her of the void. âUhh⊠the purple,â she responded.
âGood choice,â Loba smiled. âClose your eyes.â
Wraith did, and she couldnât help but think of how intimate this all was. Loba was standing over her, so close to her face, having full control of the situation⊠but still making an effort to be gentle with her. It felt⊠nice.
âAnd now for the eyeshadowâŠâ Loba mused.Â
She didnât remember a time when someone was this close to her, being so careful not to hurt her⊠until something came to mind. A flash, a memory of the labs. The scientists experimenting on her. But they didnât treat her like a person. To them, she was nothing but a test subject. Their fragile little guinea pig, not to be harmed, but only because they wanted to keep their sick little experiments goingâŠÂ
She snapped out of it when she felt Loba gently shaking her shoulder, Wraith opening her eyes. âIs everything alright, amor?â She asked, concerned. âYour hear⊠breathing was quicker than usual.â
ââŠY-yeah,â Wraith replied, taking a deep breath. ââŠUhh⊠anything else?â
Loba visibly relaxed, with a gentle smile, pulling out a couple more things. âMmhmm. Your lips.â
âOh⊠duh.â
Loba giggled, ordering her to, âHold still. This is harder than you might think.â
Wraith did as asked, holding still. Loba gently pressed something to her upper lip, then to the lower one. âNow, the most important aspect of any lookâŠâ Loba mumbled, Wraith hearing her unscrew some tubes of lipstick. She then showed her three colors of lipstick, a light purple, a teal, and a dark purple that was a similar shade to the eyeshadow. âThoughts?âÂ
She paused. The dark purple would look nice, but the light would be a nice contrast to the eyeshadow⊠âI think⊠I think the light purple would look better,â she answered.
Loba nodded, gently pressing it to her lips, applying a layer or two, before pulling back, and putting everything back. She looked back at Wraithâs face one last time, admiring her work with a smile on her face. âWant to see the finished product, amor?â
After a moment, Wraith nodded, sitting up and looking at the mirror. What she found made her jaw drop, with a murmured âHoly shitâŠâ
It was gorgeous. The eyeshadow looked like the night sky, her lips had a perfect purple to compliment her eyes, her cheeks seemed like they were glowing, and she somehow didnât notice Loba making her mascara and eyebrows absolutely perfect. She almost didnât recognize herself, it was so good.
âAre you happy with that, beautiful?â Loba casually wrapped an arm around her shoulders, making Wraith blush slightly.Â
âItâs⊠I-itâs perfect,â She stuttered, looking down in embarrassment, before looking up at her. âTh⊠thanks.â
Loba smiled, patting her on the back. âTheyâre going to love you,â She reassured her.Â
Wraith smiled sheepishly, blushing again. ââŠOkay. âŠWish me luck.â
âBoa sorte.â Loba winked at her, taking her makeup bag and sauntering away. Flustered, Wraith went to change from her casual attire to something that the talk show might accept⊠preferably a skirt of some kind.
A/N: I havenât written a fanfic in a while jesus christ. If this is entirely incomprehensible, blame me for being rusty lul. Also remind me to never write about makeup again

Thomasâ Spooky Halloween-y Date
Itâs Halloween, and as I promised, hereâs the Halloween one-off special Sanders Sides story I promised two weeks ago. It is out of the main narrative of the Aspects & Fanfics story, and itâs also formatted in regular prose instead of the habitual script format the main story follows. Before you read it, know that the plot is set two months after the latest Sanders Asides, âFlirting with Social Anxietyâ, so if you havenât watched it yet, donât read any further until you watch it or youâll get spoilered right from the first line. But itâs been more than two weeks, so I wonât be marking it as spoilers anymore. I hope you enjoy this spooky but romantic story and Iâll see you in two weeks, back to the regular posting schedule with the main story. Happy Halloween!
WARNINGS: Itâs a romantic story featuring moments of drama and death mentions. Itâs impossible to avoid them if we set the story on Halloween, though, and expect also mentions to ghosts and spooky creatures.
Thomas parked the car in front of Nicoâs door. There were children everywhere, going from door to door with their trick-or-treat. He always loved that day of the year, ever since he was a child. He would always enjoy that day no matter what, but this year, it was his first Halloween since he started dating Nico, and the first Halloween he wouldnât spend single since he had forgotten how long. He knew this year would be special. When Nico phoned him to come along for Halloween, he wouldnât even hesitate. He always enjoyed his company and spending Halloween with him couldnât be a better plan.
âI wonder if heâs prepared something for Halloween.â Thomas thought to himself âNico is the most romantic guy I have ever met in my life and Iâm sure heâs gonna make this day spookily fantastic. He loves Nightmare before Christmas, Iâm sure he enjoys Halloween just as much as I do.â
âOf course he does, Thomas!â Roman said from the backseat.
âOh, Roman, you startled me!â
âSorry. But what are you waiting for inside your carriage, Thomas? Go to his door already and knock! Donât keep him waiting!â
âEasy, Roman.â Virgil said, appearing next to him. âFirst, Thomas must check that heâs looking his best. You donât want Linda to ruin his appearance in front of Nico, do you?â
âI checked myself already, Virgil. I combed my hair carefully and used gel so that Linda doesnât visit us tonight. Wow, I made Linda sound as if she was the Oogie-Boogie Man.â
âShe can be more terrifying, Thomas, especially in romantic occasions.â Virgil said âAre you sure you look okay? Check yourself again in the mirror.â
Thomas sighed and looked at himself in the driving mirror. There was no sign of cowlicks. At Romanâs suggestion, with the telephonic guidance and advice of Talyn, he had put a little dash of natural-looking makeup on his cheeks, and his face looked brighter and healthier than ever, with no visible trace of the ugly green pimple in the middle of the forehead he had woken up with that morning. Nope, he was looking his best and there was nothing to be worried about. Nico already liked is regular appearance, and tonight he was going to fall in love with him again.
âI look fine, Virge, please settle down, at least for tonight. I wanna have a calm and lovely Halloween date with Nico and I want everything to be perfect. Please, I beg you, grant me that wish, at least for tonight.â
âOkay, Thomas, Iâll try. You know I donât work like that, but Iâll try for you.â
âThanks, emo friend.â Thomas said, smiling at Virgil through the mirror. âOkay, my face and hair look fine, I just put on my best perfume, and I brought a little bag of Halloween candy that doesnât include candy corn. What could go wrong?â
Thomas got out of the car and walked to the door. He rang the bell and waited there. He couldnât help smiling when he noticed a bunch of creepy pumpkins next to the front window, full of cobwebs.
âHe truly lives Halloween just as passionately as I do.â he thought âIf soulmates do exist, I think he could be my own soulmate, or at least the closest to a soulmate I could ever get. Weâve been dating only for a couple of months and Iâm feeling closer and closer to him each and everyday. I⊠I love him.â
The door opening interrupted his train of thought. Nico appeared there, with a skeleton makeup and a tattered black suit full of dust. The gloomy makeup couldnât conceal the brightness of his smile. Thomas smiled back.
âUh⊠trick or treat?â Thomas said, handing the bag of candy. âYou should have warned me to come in a costume.â
âItâs okay,â Nico said âI wouldnât have wanted you to come any other way. You look gorgeous as usual.â
Thomas smiled bashfully. He had forgotten the feeling of his appearance being complimented on a regular basis and Nico always knew how to boost his moral and make him feel like the handsomest man in the world. Since he had met him, he had started to forget the feeling of doubting his self worth. Nico always reminded him of how important he was, how much worthy of love he was and how much his presence in the world mattered, no matter what, and thatâs what he loved the most about his boyfriend: that first and foremost, Nico reminded Thomas of all the reasons he had to love himself on a regular basis and pushed him to love himself above all else. Thomas felt really lucky to have met him at the mall. It was a chance in a million and Lady Luck, for once, had been generous with him.
âThank you, I guess. Youâre gonna make me blush.â
âIâm only saying the truth, Thomas. But donât stay there, come in⊠if you dareâŠâ he ended this phrase with a creepy voice and an over the top spooky laugh that made Thomas chortle.
âOf courseâŠâ Thomas said entering the house. âDid you have any plans for tonight?â
âFirst and foremost, dinner will be ready in no time. I made pizza rolls. Didnât buy them, I made them from scratch. Theyâre in the oven right now.
âHomemade pizza rolls? That sounds delicious!â
âI know theyâre your favorite food and since youâre now following healthy habits and you donât eat them as often anymore, I wanted to make them just for you, for this special occasion. I just hope I havenât messed up with the recipe and that I donât end up burning them.â
âGosh, Nico. Youâre always thinking on me and on whatâs best for me. I really feel so lucky to have you in my life.â
âI am the lucky one, Thomas. Your sunshiny disposition always makes my day a thousand times brighter. Of course I want you to have the best of the best, because youâre the best of the best for me.â
âI love you, so much.â
âNot as much as I love you.â
âIs this a competition about who loves who more? Because I intend to win it.â
âI wonât make it easy for you, honey.â
Nico kissed Thomas. Then they stared at each other for a couple of seconds, as if the world had stopped around them. Roman and Virgil, a couple of steps afar, watched the scene. Roman was crying out of emotion. Virgilâs eyeshadow couldnât be shinier in purple.
âGosh. Could he be any cuter?â Roman said, squealing.
âI really think Thomasâ life has only got better and better since we met him. I wonder if thereâs a top for this turmoil of excitement he makes me feel every time Thomas is with him.â
âGlad to have you aboard the romance train, Virge. This wouldnât have been possible if it wasnât for you, so thank you.â
âYouâre welcome, Roman. I donât regret that push at all, andâŠâ suddenly Virgil became really serious and his eyeshadow suddenly turned black. âWait, wait a second⊠Whatâs that?â
âWhatâs what?â Roman inquired.
âDonât you sense that smell?â suddenly panicking âSomethingâs burning! Quickly, set the alarms! Everybody save yourselves! Thomas!â
Thomasâ suddenly perceived the smell too.
âNico, somethingâs burning!â
âOh, no!â Nico said, scared, running to the kitchen.
Thomas followed him. There was black smoke coming out of the oven. Nico quickly tried to open the oven, but in the rush, he forgot to wear a glove and burned his hand.
âOuch, my hand!â he yelled, in pain.
âBe careful!â Thomas said, grabbing the glove on the counter next to the oven. Then he opened the oven and took the tray out. All the pizza rolls were completely charred and black. He left the tray in a safe place on the counter, coughing a little bit out of the smoke. Then he opened the window to let the smoke out and turned the oven temperature off.
âAw, my handâŠâ Nico said, grimacing in pain. âThis looks like a bad burn.â
âLet me seeâ Thomas said. There were blisters on Nicoâs palm. âThis doesnât look good. Put your hand under the running tap. Cold water may be helpful to relieve the pain.â
Thomas opened the tap and Nico put his hand under the water stream.
âIâm so sorry, Thomas.â Nico said with a sad face, also grimacing in pain at times âI think I lost notion of time and I messed everything upâŠâ
âItâs okay, Nico. It was an accident, and the most important thing for me is that youâre okay.â
After a couple of minutes, Thomas turned the water off and dried Nicoâs hand carefully, then they both went to the living room. Logan appeared next to the couple and examined the wound.
âThe burn doesnât look bad enough to call 911, but itâll need a little bit of care. Has Nico got some bandages?â
âHave you?â Thomas asked.
âHave I what?â Nico said, confused.
Thomas remembered that Nico couldnât hear or see Logan as he was in his imagination.
âOh, sorry, I was thinking to myself and forgot to speak aloud. I meant if you have some bandages.â
âOh⊠Yes, in the medical kit, on that closet under the stairs.â
âOkay, you sit down at the table and Iâll go fetch the medical kit.â
âDo you have medical knowledge, Thomas?â
âOnly the basics, you know, first aid assistance and all. I took a couple of courses when I was in college studying chemical engineering. Cause you never know, they could come in handy at any time. And see? The time has come.â Thomas got the medical kit from the closet and carried it to the table, then examined its contents. âAha! Here are the bandages⊠and look, hereâs some burn cream.â
âAn aloe vera burning ointment⊠A wise choice to treat burns,â Logan said, âmuch better than the traditional oil-based burn ointment which can do more harm than good depending on the type of burn.â
âYou really got this thought out, didnât you, Nico?â Thomas said.
âWell,â Nico said, bashfully, âletâs just say that this is not the first time I burned myself while trying to cook. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone by trying to cook something for you but I messed everything up. I should have simply ordered a pizza, but I didnât want to do something so dull for our Halloween date, I wanted it to be special.â
âDonât worry, Nico. Iâm not the best cook either and I appreciate the love you put into this⊠Okay, here I go. Are you ready? This might hurt a bit.â
âIâm ready.â
Thomas applied the burn cream, spreading it over the burn as gently as he could. Then, he started wrapping Nicoâs hand with the bandage. Sometimes, Nico grimaced in pain, but most of the time, he just stared at Thomas with a loving glance. Thomas didnât notice as he was focused on applying the bandage as painlessly as he could. When he was done, he tied the edge and secured the bandage.
âDone. You should see a doctor, though, as soon as you can so that they can advise better on that wound.â
Nico didnât answer. He just leaned over and kissed Thomas on the cheek, staining the cheek with his white skeleton makeup.
âThank you. Sorry I stained your face.â
âYouâre welcome.â Thomas said, smiling back. âWell, it seems that we canât eat these little pieces of coal in the kitchen. Do you want me to order some pizza?â
âIâd be glad. Iâm sorry I canât give you more.â
âFor the last time, I donât need you to give me more. I came here to spend time with you, not with your food. And besides, I adore pizza, I donât mind at all to have it for dinner. SoâŠâ
Suddenly the sound of the oven bell ringing startled him.
âWhat was that?â Thomas said.
âThat⊠that was the oven⊠the sign that I should take the pizza rolls outâŠâ
âHow much time did you program on the oven, Nico?â
âThe time specified on the recipe. Look.â
Nico showed Thomas his phone and Thomas read something on the screen. Logan read the screen too.
âThis doesnât make any sense, Thomas.â Logan said, âThe time specified on this recipe is totally safe. It would have been impossible that the pizza rolls had got burnt if theyâve been in the oven for this time only. If anything, it would have been the opposite, they would have come out a little raw and would have needed a little more time.â
âHow is it possible that the pizza rolls got burnt when they spent so little time in the oven? Are you sure you didnât introduce something wrong on the timer?â Thomas said.
âYes, Iâm sure, Thomas. Iâm not the best cook, but I can read, and I double-checked that the timer was right.â
âThen, how could the pizza rolls get burnt? This doesnât make any senseâŠâ
Suddenly all the lights in the house turned off.
âWhat theâŠ?â Nico started saying.
But he was interrupted by the sound of something made of glass crashing on the floor in another room followed by a creepy voice laughing and yelling with a squeaky voice: âWho broke this vase!? HeheheheheheâŠâ
âOkayâŠâ Thomas said with a trembling voice ââŠif this is your idea of a creepy Halloween, I commend you for your creativity⊠but I beg you to stop right now, this is too scary for meâŠâ
âI donât have any part on this, ThomasâŠâ Nico said with an equally trembling voice âI donât know what is going on.â
Logan looked around.
âAll of this has a strangely familiar look, just like that voice. I think I know thatâŠâ
Suddenly one light turned on in the middle of the table where Thomas and Nico were sitting. Remus was there, dressed as a zombie, with one eye hanging and blood all over his body.â
âAAAAAYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!â Remus screeched demonically.
Thomas screeched, scared, before he recognized Remus. Nico just stared at the apparition, and with the same gesture and no words coming out of his mouth, he flopped down on the table, unconscious.
âNico!â Thomas yelled âNico, are you all right?â
Thomas checked Nico. He had simply fainted.
âWhat is going on here!?â Thomas yelled.
âHahahahaha! I surely scared the sh*t out of your boyfriend, didnât I? Both of you in fact, you should have seen your faces! Hahahahaha!â
âShut up, Remus! For starters, how in the world could Nico see you!? I thought you were just a figment of my imagination and that only I could see you!â
âWell, you thought wrong, Thomas! Not tonight at least! Tonight is the night where all nightmares become real, and tonight Iâm your worst nightmare, Thomas!â
âRemus, will you stop these ridiculous antics!?â Logan said. âYou could have killed Nico out of a heart attack! You know weâre not supposed to interact with other humans, itâs against the rules of Sides!â
Remus shifted back into his normal form.
âOh, to the hell with rules! No rules can bind me, and you know it!â
âWait, so all of you can become visible at will?â Thomas said âWhy didnât you tell me?â
âYou never asked.â Remus said with a mocking grin.
âItâs a little complicate, Thomas.â Virgil started saying, until he was interrupted.
âNico, are you all right!?â Patton yelled after rising up, with a grimace of fear and an over the top concern âPlease, talk to me!â
âOkay, okay, guys, enough is enoughâ Janus said, appearing âWhat will happen if now Nico starts seeing us? Youâre endangering Thomasâ relationship, and bearing in mind his streak of luck, heâs not in a position of wasting relationshipsâŠâ
âYeah, I want to keep Nico as our final prize, I donât want to lose him!
âOh, brother, you donât have to worry about anything. You, Light Sides, didnât know it, but for us, Dark Sides, it was a secret common knowledge that if we never shared it with you, it was because Janus wouldnât let us.â Remus said.
âWhat do you mean, Remus?â Roman said. Logan and Patton also looked at Remus, in confusion.
âCan I, Janus?â Remus inquired.
âOnly if Thomas wants, Remus, you know the rules.â Janus said.
âOh, I do want,â Thomas said âI want to know what Remus means.â
âOkay, go ahead Remus.â Janus said.
âThank you, snake boy. If Nico can see us, then that means thatâŠâ
Suddenly, Nico rose his face from the table. Everyone stared at him in silence. The first thing he saw was Janus and his snake face.
âHi, Mr. Floresssssssâ Janus says, hissing with his forked tongue.
Nico immediately fainted again.
âGuys!â Roman yelled âAre you trying to make Thomas a widower before he even marries!?â
âPreposterous.â Logan said âTo be a widower you need to be married beforehand, at least legally.â
âThatâs the intention,â Roman said âif he reaches the altar alive, that is!â
âEnough!â Thomas yelled. âEveryone get out of sight, now, before he sees you again!â
The Sides shrugged and turned invisible for Thomas, all of them except Remus.
âYou too, Remus, youâre the cause of all of this and I donât want you here! Well, I never want you around but much less right now!â
âAww, too bad that youâre not my boss, Tommy Boy! You canât force me to do anything as you remember.â
Thomas sighed.
âAt least, could you please become invisible for Nico? Please, heâs survived two strong impressions in a row. He has a young heart, but still, a third shock like that could be fatal for anyone!â
âOkay, I will. But only because I think Nicoâs hot and I donât want him to die yet, not at least before you twoâŠâ and he completed the phrase with a lot of⊠expressive words that this narrator is not willing to quote.
Thomas ignored Remus and started fanning Nico with his hand.
âNico, are you all right? Wake up, please! Nico!â
Nico started waking up. At first he showed a face of confusion. Then he suddenly showed a face of fear and looked around, anxious.
âWhere are they? Where are they!?â
âUh⊠where are who?â
âThat zombie on the table, and then the snake-man! I remember very well I saw them, and so did you!â
âUh⊠wellâŠâ Thomas said with a stuttering nervous voice.
Nico looked at Thomas right in the eye, then he went serious and started speaking.
âYouâre hiding something from me, Thomas. I can feel it. You always get into that nervous attitude when youâre trying to conceal something that bothers you. Youâre not a very good liar, no matter how hard you try.â
Janus watched the scene a few steps behind, invisible for them, frowning at Nico with an offended face.
âListen, I wouldnât push you to tell me secrets you donât want anyone to know, but if I know you, and in just two months I think I know you well already, you only put that face of remorse when you think I should know something but you donât tell me because youâre afraid or ashamed. If thatâs the case, please, open up to me.â Nico held Thomasâ hands âI love you. You donât need to be afraid and your secret will always be safe with me, I promise. No one will know through my lips. Please, trust me.â
âI do trust you, Nico. And I donât want to have secrets with you. Itâs just that I never thought I would ever need to tell you this, to you or to anybody at all. And I never told you about this, because I feared that you would think you were dating a weirdo. What am I saying? Iâm probably a weirdo anywayâŠâ
Nico frowned at Thomas.
âThomas, I forbid you to speak about yourself in these terms! Youâre not a weirdo! Youâre the sanest man Iâve ever met and I will physically fight you if you say otherwise!â
âHeh⊠physically fight me? Itâs not the first time I heard someone say these words. And itâs only appropriate that you mentioned them just now. Maybe itâs true we are soulmates after allâŠâ
âYouâre diverting, Thomas. Please, tell me whatâs bothering you.â
âWell⊠promise you wonât freak out or think Iâm mad?â
âIâve already promised. Go ahead, please.â
âYou see, all of my life thereâs been this exercise I made when I wanted to put my ideas in order, or I wanted to analyze my train of thoughts carefully to find solutions to the dilemmas I regularly face in my life. I imagined that the different aspects of my personality, you know, my morality, my logical thinking, my anxiety and my creativity and romanticism, where, like, different people. I visualized them in front of me and sustained conversations with them, and imagined that the thoughts in my head were actually words said by them. It helped me to externalize these thoughts and view them critically and as objectively as I could.â
Nico just looked at Thomas in silence.
âWell, up to a minute ago⊠I thought that all these people, who I called the Sanders Sides, you know the sides of my personality, were imaginary and only in my head. But Remus⊠thatâs the name of my forbidden creativity, the thoughts I try to repress in my mind which show up as intrusive thoughts⊠decided to prank us⊠and showed up in the middle of the table dressed as a zombie. I thought only I could see him⊠until you fainted out of the impression. I never knew other people could see them if they wanted to. Heck, I donât even understand how they can do it at all. Iâm so sorry, I should have told you earlier. Iâll understand if youâre mad at me, and if you donât want to date me anymore, it would kill me, because I love you with all my heart, but Iâd accept your choice. Well? What do you say?â
Nico kept looking at Thomas. Slowly a face of surprise started appearing on his face. Thomas showed a face of fear.
âYou have Lados too?â
âWhat?â Thomas said, stunned. He didnât expect that answer at all.
âYes, Lados. Thatâs how I call them, itâs the word in Spanish for Sides, which is what you call them. I⊠I thought I was the only one who had them!â
Roman, Logan and Patton stared at Nico, with their mouths wide open. Remus just smiled mockingly and said:
âThatâs the secret I was trying to tell you before he woke up. If Nico could see me, that means he also has the ability to turn his thoughts into Sides, which means he has his own Sides too. Not all humans can see us, only those who have Sides can.â
âWow, I should have known earlier, you know?â Thomas said, looking at Remus.
âIâm sorry I should have told you⊠Wait, who are you talking to?â Nico said, confused, noticing Thomas was staring at an empty space.
âOh, I guess heâs still invisible to you now⊠I was talking to Remus, heâs over there, even if you donât see him.â
âI see⊠Thatâs an expression, of course. Remus, wherever you are, that was a good prank, you really scared the crap out of me.â
âThank you, Nico!â Remus said, startling Nico after suddenly becoming visible for him âI love that youâre a guy that can take pranks, unlike other people I know, and Iâm not looking at anyone.â Remus said, looking at Thomas right in the eye.
âYes, today Remus seems to be in a mood for pranks.â Thomas said âBut, Remus, even though I know you never listen to me, you could be more careful, look at Nicoâs hand, he burned it because of you.â
âWait, what?â Remus said, confused âWhat are you talking about?â
âThat joke with the oven, accelerating it and making the pizza rolls burn before they were made? You could have set the whole house on fire, and I would have never forgiven myself. Donât do that again.â
âI recognize that would have been a very funny prank, ThomasâŠâ Remus said, still confused ââŠbut I didnât take part in that.â
âWhat? Youâre kidding me, right?â
âNo, Iâm not, Thomas. You know me well, you already know by experience that I would never hide anything to you. For once in a lifetime, Iâm an innocent little lamb.â
âYou wish.â Patton said.
âNo, I donât, daddy. Feeling innocent is disgusting and itâs not like me at all, you know? Thatâs more your thing, not mine. Me, Iâm more of a guilty-pleasure addict.â
âIâd rather not think what you mean by thatâŠâ Patton said, uncomfortable.
Thomas looked at Remus, totally confused.
âBut⊠if it wasnât you⊠then whoâŠ?â
A demonic long screech started resounding all over the house, and the lights started flickering on and off.
âWhat is going on!?â Thomas said, scared, yelling over the screech to make himself heard. âIs it one of your Sides⊠of your Lados, by any chance, Nico!?â
âNo, it isnât, Thomas!â Nico also had to yell to make himself heard. âI donât know where that screech is coming from!â
âUgh, that screech is hurting my earsâŠâ Remus said âIâm getting out of here.â
Remus sank down.
âUgh⊠this is so horrible, not even Remus could stand itâŠâ Thomas said âBut then, what is going on?â
The screech stopped. Then, a demonic voice started speaking.
âYou will regret coming into my house⊠Both of you⊠will pay⊠with blood!â
Thomas grabbed Nico, shaking from head to toe.
âNico⊠Iâm scaredâŠâ Thomas said.
âMe tooâŠâ Nico said, hugging Thomas.
Then, the lights went off. Romanâs female scream was heard.
âWhat was that!?â Nico yelled in horror.
âRoman, was that you!? Are you okay!?â Thomas said.
âYes, itâs me, sorry, Thomas.â Roman said with his own voice âI still hate the darkâŠâ
A demonic laugh startled everyone in the dark.
âA⊠a ghost⊠Itâs a ghost!â Pattonâs whining voice said in the dark.
âOkay, guys, everybody calm down.â Loganâs voice said âThere has to be some logical explanation for all of this.â
âDonât try to explain this rationally, Logan!â Roman said âFor once, thereâs something not even you can explain, so donât pretend to know better, Teach!â
âThereâs only one explanationâ Virgil said âThis house is haunted and thereâs a ghost living here. Our only hope is to get out of this house, get in the car and drive as far away as the gas level allows us, and pray that the ghost doesnât follow us to torment us for the rest of our lives.â
âI canât just leave my house⊠whoever you are.â Nico said.
âHeâs Virgil, my anxiety, always a source of positivity as you can see.â Thomas said, ironically.
âHave you ever experience this kind of⊠paranormal activity in your house, Nico? And my name is Logan, by the way, Iâm Thomasâ logical thinking.â
âWell⊠no, Logan, I havenât. Up until today, this house was perfectly normal, no sign of spirits meddling around in my life.â
âHow long have you been living here, if I may ask?â
âWell⊠I moved to Gainesville at the end of last year. I got this job in the University of Florida, teaching Spanish, you know? I got this house around November, to start the semester in January, and Iâve been living here happily and peacefully, until now.â
âSo you didnât live here by Halloween last year, right?â
âRight. Back then, I still lived in Orlando, although I was already preparing to move to Gainesville and looking for cheap rent houses.â
âThen that explains it. The ghost that lives here only shows up on Halloween, for some reason.â
âI thought you were looking for a logical explanation, Logan.â Roman said. âHave you changed your mind about paranormal events?â
âI got a logical explanation. If youâre meaning a ârational explanationâ, well, thatâs a different story. This isnât rational at all, but with the information Iâve got, I must bring up any possible theories, even if they go against the scientific method.â
âYou do realize that doesnât make any sense, right?â
âIf it doesnât, itâs because we lack information to understand this phenomenon, Roman. But to try and retrieve the missing data, we must explore any possibilities, no matter how mad they may sound.â
âSo youâre saying that you need me to complete this theory, right? Thanks, Teach, I knew you wouldnât resist my talent one day or another.â
âNo, IâŠâ Logan started saying, but then another demonic screech interrupted them.
âGuysâ Thomas said âWhile youâre here theorizing, that demonic entity is still wreaking havoc. Stop trying to find out what it is and start looking for a solution to get rid of it!â
âYes, even if itâs only for one night, or so you say, Logan, I donât want an evil spirit on the loose in my house! Iâd never sleep in peace at night ever again!â Nico said.
âMy house!â the demonic voice said âThis is my house and you are intruders! Go away!â
âIâve already paid a good year of rent!â Nico said âThis is my house until I canât pay my landlady anymore!â
Another short screech was the only answer.
âDid your landlady ever tell you about this happening?â Thomas said.
âNo, she didnât. But Mrs. Howard is a very nice, old lady, she would never hide anything like this to me on purpose. Iâm sure she doesnât know anything about this.â
âThen tell her! I want her to come here!â the voice said. Except that this time it was the whining voice of a child.
âWait a minuteâŠâ Thomas said âThe ghost is⊠is a child?â
The lights turned on, and the couple and Sides saw a little boy dressed in 1960âs fashion. If it wasnât for the paleness of his face and his anachronistic outfit, nothing would have distinguished him from any other boy like the many others doing trick-or-treat outside. Well, to be fair, he could have indeed blended in with these boys now that they were disguised as spooky creatures. The ghost child stared at them with sad eyes.
âI want her back⊠Why did she leave me behind?â he said.
âWho left you behind, kiddo?â Patton said.
âItâs weird to hear Patton using the word kiddo right for the first timeâŠâ Virgil said.
âMy mom.â the ghost said âThat Mrs. Howard he mentioned⊠Sheâs my mom.â
âMy landlady is your mom?â Nico said, in shock. âOh, my goodness!â
âShe promised she would never leave my side. She promised she would always be with me until I got better⊠but she left me. Why? Why did she lie to me? Why didnât she want me!? I feel so alone and lostâŠâ
âOh, goshâŠâ Virgil said, emotional. âHe doesnât know he died. His mom probably was by his side as she promised, until the kid passed away, but he doesnât remember the moment when he left his body and he thinks his mother abandoned him. Oh, this is so sadâŠâ
âOkay, kiddo, whatâs your name?â Patton said, after concealing his tears, with his most tender fatherly voice.
âPatrick.â
âNice to meet you, Patrick, Iâm⊠Patton. And these are my friends. Weâre sorry if we have bothered you. It wasnât our intention. Could you accept our apologies, kiddo?â
âStop calling me kiddo! Iâm eight years old, Iâm a strong grown up!â
âOf course you are, Patrick!â Patton said.
âEight years oldâŠâ Thomas said, emotional âIt isnât fair, no one should die so young.â
âMy mother needed me to be strong, because sheâs all alone and has to take care of us, me, my little brother and my little sister, and I need to get better to help her. But where is she? How can I help her if I donât know where she is?â
Patton looked at the others. He was clearly overwhelmed by the emotion and getting choked up. He silently begged the others for help since he couldnât speak anymore. Janus decided to step forward.
âListen, young man. Because as you said youâre a young man, correct? Your mom had to⊠get away from this house, you know? She had to move somewhere else to take care of your siblings.â
âThen why didnât she take me with them? Didnât they want me anymore, because I was sick and they thought I would be useless?â
âNo, of course not! Uh⊠Iâm sure your mom loved you with all her heart. Itâs just that she couldnât take you with her because⊠um⊠the place where she moved to only allowed two kids, and she had to choose⊠and she chose your two little siblings, because they were younger and more in need of her care⊠and you are a strong and capable man, arenât you? She knew you could take care of yourself better on your own than your siblings, thatâs why she left you here, because she also needed someone to help her take care of this house while she was out, you know? She loves and trusts you so much that she left you right here in this place to fulfill your duty. You should hold that trust she has on you with pride.â
âI⊠I guess⊠but why didnât she tell me? And why doesnât she ever come here, at least to visit me? I miss her so much.â
âShe canât right now, young man. But rest assure, she would love to visit you. And in due time, sheâll come for you, when you least expect it, and then sheâll release you from your duty and take you to a place where youâll never be away from her ever again, and then sheâll give you all the love she couldnât give you all these past years and more, youâll see.â
âDag nabbitâŠâ Thomas said with tears in his eyes âThis snake is making me cry.â
âMe tooâŠâ Nico said, also crying, with foggy glasses.
âI⊠I understand.â the little ghost said. âWill I have to wait for too long until she comes for me?â
âIt may take her some time⊠but each year that goes by will be a year closer to her, so wait for that day with hope and one day, youâll have your reward. Youâll see.â
âOkay⊠thank you sir.â the ghost spoke to Nico âIâm sorry for burning your food, sir, and also that you hurt your hand because of me. That was rude and I apologize.â
âItâs okay⊠totally okay, donât worry.â Nico said with a trembling emotional voice.
âI feel so much peace now that I know that Iâm going to see her againâŠâ the ghost said while he started becoming translucent âI think I know where I truly need to go to wait for her⊠I think I remember it all now⊠Thank you so much, kind people. You listened to me when nobody else would and freed my soul. Iâll forever be grateful to you for that.â he smiled with a face of peace and happiness âI can see my dad! Heâs there with open arms, calling me! I gotta go, I missed him so much too! Goodbye, everyone! Dad, Iâm so happy to see you again! Are you proud of me?â
And with these words, the ghost disappeared. They all stood there looking at the empty space for a few seconds in a silence only broken by Thomas and Nicoâs faint sobs.
âI donât know if his dad will be proud of him, even though I believe he totally isâŠâ Patton said âbut Iâm certain of who this dad, and I mean me, is proud of. Iâm so proud of you, Janus.â
Janus snorted trying to act cold.
âI was only being me, telling the kid a bunch of lies to fool him and push him to the other side, where he wouldnât bother us anymore, thatâs all.â
Thomas smiled at Janus.
âYouâre a liarâŠâ he said ââŠbut youâre my liar and I love you, liar and all.â
âEh⊠whatever.â Janus said, with his human cheek blushing red and his human eye full of emotional tears.
Nico looked at Thomas with a tender smile.
âWhat is it, Nico?â
âItâs nothingâ Nico said. âItâs just that Iâm so thankful that you decided to overcome your fears and talk to me at the mall. Otherwise I would have missed knowing you.â
âOh, well⊠IâŠâ Thomas said. âWhy are you saying this right now?â
âYour Sides are you, arenât they? Just like my Lados are me. And your Sides are all so great, each and everyone of them, therefore so are you. I love you so much.â
Thomas got emotional and smiled lovingly at Nico.
âAnd I love you too, Nico.â he said.
And then they kissed. After the kiss, Thomas said:
âSpeaking about your Sides⊠I mean, your Lados, when am I⊠are we going to meet them?â
âIn time⊠but tonight, I want this night to be just for us, if thatâs okay with you. Weâre still on Halloween date, arenât we, and I donât have the intention of squandering it.â
âOkay with me?â Thomas said, blushing again âBeing with you will always be okay with me. I wouldnât wanna be anywhere else in the world ever again.â
They kissed again. Remus appeared rising his arms in triumph.
âYes! Finally!â Remus yelled âI was beginning to lose hope that they two wouldâŠâ
âDonât count your chickens before they hatch, Remus.â Roman said. Now the couple couldnât see or hear the Sides anymore. âIâm sure after so much agitation and horror today, not to mention Nicoâs wound, their only plan for the night will be getting a well deserved romantic dinner and watching some Halloween light horror movies.â
âBut after the dinner, there always comes the dessert, doesnât it?â Remus said, wiggling his eyebrows. Then he sighed in frustration. âIf only Thomas wasnât so romantic-driven that he needs to feel that romance in order to go to the next base. Itâs boring having to go through all that long process and waiting for him to be ready before we get to the juicy stuff.â
âWell, romance is also good for Thomasâ soul and well-being,â Roman said âand I know, deep inside, you also want what is best for Thomas, even if you try to get it through your gruesome ways. On the other hand, we are brothers and part of a whole, Remus. As much as it is a pain for us both, if we want Thomas to be happy with Nico, weâll have to work as a team, and our task is to help Thomas find out when heâs ready to move forward in the relationship. And who knows, maybe working as a team will give us an opportunity to rebuild our relationship as brothers?â
âDonât build your hopes too high, Roman.â Remus said âRight now you can consider yourself lucky that we can work together without me having to pull out my mace.â
Roman chuckled.
âItâs a first step.â Roman said âand all the best adventures always start with a first step. I wonder where this adventure will take us both, brother.â
âIf you say soâŠâ Remus said, shrugging. ââŠbrother.â
Roman smiled while Remus pretended he didnât care. Then they both sank down with the others back to the Mind Palace, giving the couple some well earned privacy while they started ordering a pizza and checking Nicoâs collection of Blu-Rays to find the perfect movie for the night.

ç„çæ Chiteki Ai - âIntellectual Loveâ
Summary: Her intelligence was his aphrodisiac just as his love for literature sparked her desire to read more books - (a tiny hint of NejiTen and SuiKarin as well) College AU
Rating: Teen
For the lovely @uchihaharunoss who loves reading school/college AUs.Â
Note: the term "aphrodisiac" doesn't just apply to sex; itâs other definition is: a thing that causes excitement.
Freshmen Year
There she was studying at the grand library of Rikodu Sennin University, wearing a pair of thin framed reading glasses as she was studiously taking notes from her thick molecular biology textbook. Something about seeing a beautiful woman intently studying motivated him to step up his A-game. Especially if that woman has the same hair color of cherry blossoms and eyes like shimmering emeralds. That woman's name was Haruno Sakura. He had heard that she was a one-of-a-kind genius who got a full scholarship in the Rikodu Sennin medical school, and that she was also the apprentice of the infamous Doctor Tsunade Senju ever since she miraculously concocted an antidote to counteract the spider virus.
Here he was sitting on the other side of the library with a friend of his in the middle of a study session. It was getting hard for him to concentrate, because he was constantly tempted to sneak glances
"Hey Sasuke, can I copy your timeline notes of the Tokugawa Shogunate period? If you remember that I didn't make it to class last Thursday." Neji Hyuga, a sophomore from the esteemed Hyuga clan asks him if he could borrow his notes. With a grunt, Sasuke takes out his binder to take out the sheets of papers he took his notes, and then staples them in order before handing them to Neji, "Give them back to me by Friday, Neji."
"But of course." Was Neji's reply before he carefully puts the packet of Sasuke's precious notes in his file.
"Why were you staring at Haruno Sakura?" Neji changes topic.
"Why were you staring at Yu Tenten during basketball practice?" He retaliates with a smirk. Neji's fascination towards Tenten was no secret.
"She was cheering for me Sasuke, like any good friend would." Neji quickly responds with a faint blush growing on his cheek bones.
"Aha, keep telling yourself that Neji." Sasuke continues teasing him mercilessly.
"Don't you have to write a 10 page research paper for Law?" At being reminded of his arduous assignment, Sasuke's face momentarily turns pale at the thought of completing an all-nighter to write his paper.
'Damn it, I guess I'll have to make time to read The Silmarillion tomorrow then.' Sasuke thinks defeated with a sigh. Yes, the pragmatic Sasuke Uchiha has a love for literature. If he had the time, he'd consider joining the literature club, but alas his major forces him to study very hard in order to become a better criminal lawyer than his father; and it would mean reading more books with legal jargon.
"I must leave now Sasuke, I promised Tenten that I wold help her in understanding functional analyses." Neji stands to pack his books, while trying his best not to blush at the prospect of having alone time with Tenten.
"You don't even take calc. 1." Sasuke knew for a fact that Hyuga Neji was probably on the linear algebra level, considering he was known to be a prodigal math genius back in high school.
"I'm the best person to help her Sasuke." Neji haughtily tells him, "you'll understand when someone deems you worthy enough to help them." And with that he left the library leaving Sasuke all by himself on the table.
After Neji leaves, Sasuke with a "hmph" puts on his earphones that were attached to his cellphone so he can listen to his playlist of classical European music from Beethoven to Mozart to Tchaikovsky.
Sophomore Year
"Hey Sakura, my mom's hosting my birthday this weekend, you should come over!" Karin Uzumaki removes her glasses and pouts her lips, as she sweetly invites her for her birthday party.
"Geez Karin you don't need to act all 'cutesy' to make me go somewhere when you know the answer is yes." Sakura irritably answers her. At hearing her confirmation, Karin's expression turns ecstatic and then tells her to wear something nice but not too casual this coming weekend.
"Great, and just so you know Sasuke will be there too." Karin leaves her with a knowing smirk.
::::
Saturday comes and she's the first one to arrive at Karin's birthday party, and is grabbed by the arm to Karin's bedroom. When she goes inside the red head's room, Sakura instantly knew what needed to be done. Which was to help Karin get ready for the party.
"What will make you stand out the most?" Sakura looks through her closet of designer clothes until she hit the jackpot. She took out an unsaturated red tube dress that reached mid-thigh with a black denim jacket to go on top of.
"This will do, it compliments your hair and eye color!" Sakura hands the outfit to Karin and then turns around so she can slip her clothes on.
When she was done changing, she found Karin looking in the mirror with a sad look. "Do you think Sasuke will notice me like this?" She's been having a crush on him since they were in Oto high school but, things recently started to get complicated with their long time mutual friend Suigetsu Hozuki; who's also known to quarrel with Karin a lot. She also wasn't oblivious of Sakura's crush on Sasuke either, even if the pinkette doesn't know it herself.
"It doesn't matter how you look for him Karin, no one knows what his tastes are." She honestly answers, because it was hard for nearly anyone to guess what Sasuke is up to most of the time, aside from his close friends. 'I'd be more worried about Suigetsu not keeping his eyes off of you.' She quietly thinks to her self.
"Don't make this night about impressing him." She gently rests her palm on Karin's right shoulder.
When the house became too crowded for Sakura's liking, she decided to take a seat inside the gazebo of Karin's backyard. Aside from knowing Karin, nearly all the party guests were from said girl's high school called Oto High which was located in downtown Tokyo; plus most of them intimidated the crap out of Sakura. Basking in the fresh night air she closed her eyes and let her body absorb the cool summer wind.
"I thought I'd find you here." Sasuke's voice startles her out of her reverie and causes her to open her eyes only to see that he was taking a seat next to her. She couldn't help but admire his choice of clothing for the evening. Wearing a navy blue collar shirt with the sleeves rolled half way up - exposing his muscular arms.
"Hey." Sakura politely acknowledges him, wondering if he came to return the book he borrowed from her - ironically the book she's had for years in her home, but never finished reading it.
He takes out the hard copy of The Chamber by American author John Grisham from his black satchel and hands it over to Sakura, "It's a pretty decent book, I'm surprised you haven't read it yet." It had everything Sasuke loved to read about; suspense, history, politics, and a thorough examination of America's horrible legal system. Not to say that he loved America's justice system, he is actually appalled by it, from its prevalent racism, gender biases in careers, its lack of healthcare, the amount of countries it destroyed, he hated all of it.
"I'm not quite fond of America's justice system Sasuke, even my dad thought it could've been written better so I chose not to bother after chapter 4." She dryly tells him, which made him smirk a little. "Can't argue with that." He agrees with her while taking a good look at her. The sight of her sitting in the gazebo with that faraway look as she looks upwards toward the star-filled night sky would be the perfect inspiration for a painter or a photographer. Her long pink hair was let loose, her sea green eyes sparkled in the dark, and her choice of clothing was lovely as well, Sasuke observes her admiringly. She chose to wear a white frock that reached mid leg, and a pastel pink chiffon cardigan.
"What is it Sasuke?" She caught him staring at her, feeling genuinely confused, because he never looked at her like that before.
"Nothing Sakura." He gives her a gentle smile, that reminded her of the one her father would give to her mother.
Perhaps she'll finish reading The Chamber.
End of Junior Year
"You want me to do what with you?" He asks her amused, this was just too good to hear from her.
"You heard me loud and clear Sasuke, would you like to go out with me tonight, you know..to hangout?" Sakura asks with her arms crossed, a faint blush decorating her cheekbones.
"Alright," He fake surrenders with his hands up, "I'll see you at 7 at my place, oh and SakuraâŠ" He walks close to her until there's very little space between them and boldly pecks her forehead where her purple diamond tattoo was, and whispers "Thank you." With that said, he goes off to class leaving Sakura with her heart beating fast as she replays the kiss on her forehead.
::::
"Wait, thee Sakura is taking you to the movies?" Sasuke's mom Mikoto Uchiha, eggs her son to tell. "Yes okasan, it's her - hold on," He paused as his cheeks darken a little bit, "how do you know her name?" He never recalled sharing her name to anyone in his family, just vague information that she's a medicine student and came from Okinawa.
"I heard you whisper 'Sakura' in your sleep, when I came to wake you up from your power nap." She wickedly grins at him, causing heat to reach at the back of his neck, now hoping his father won't walk in, in the middle of this conversation.
Just as the clock went 7:00 pm, the doorbell of the house rung. Faster than lightning, Mikoto opens the door with a smile and is delighted to see a pink haired maiden with green eyes in front of her.
"You must be Sakura! Please do come in." The elder woman grabs the younger one by the elbow to pull her inside.
Remembering her manners, Sakura clears her throat and with a traditional bow she says "Konbanwa Uchiha-san, I am a close friend of your son, and I would like to take him out to the movies with me. Rest assured, I will not take any advantage of making him pay for the two of us just for the sake of traditional gender roles, I will -"
"She gets the point Sakura." Sasuke comes right next to her as he helps her straighten her back to stand up.
"Well you sure are a chivalrous woman." The ebony haired woman chuckles at the slightly nervous young lady standing next to her son. "I mean you're both adults, so I don't see the point of you asking for my permission. Just don't get lost in any alleyways." She jokingly says a little bit. 'It's not everyday a girl comes to me to ask Sasuke out on a date.' She thinks to herself amused. 'Just friends. I see, as if I was born yesterday.'
"Have fun kiddos!" She sees them go out the door, and once their gone she feels her body relax and with a loud voice, "You can come out now Fugaku."
"So that was Sakura." Fugaku walks next to his wife with a mini smirk forming on his usually serious face. "I never expected her to be so unique."
"Neither did I dear." She agrees as she rests her head on his shoulder.
::::
Sakura couldn't contain her excitement, ever since her self-discovery of having feelings for Sasuke, she's been wanting to see if he might also like her beyond friendship. She was tempted to grab his hand and hold it firmly in her's, but she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable as she fails to not reach for his hand before he caught her.
"What are you doing?" He whispers so the other occupants in the cinema wouldn't hear him.
"Just stretching." She answers in a steady tone.
"Is that so?" He comes near her ear as his breath tickles when he adds, "is it not because you want to hold my hand, like lovers do?" He further agitates her until she aggressively grabs his much larger hand and grips it in her smaller one. "Yes. Yes Uchiha Sasuke I like you a lot and I would love for us to be real lovers." She confesses to him. "However, I won't force you to be in a relationship just because I wish it. We can continue on as friends and forget this entire conversation." She stiffly finishes and tries to let go of his hand but Sasuke unexpectedly tightens his hold on her.
"We'll talk it through when the movie is done." He tells her without turning to her. They resume to watch the rest of the Batman movie in silence.
When the movie finished, Sasuke without hesitation offers his hand to Sakura which she takes and leads them outside the cinema.
"We're going back to my place." Sasuke leads them to the train station, "Don't ask any questions."
After 40 minutes, they arrive to his fancy neighborhood while holding hands. Once their in front of his door, he rings the bell and was surprisingly welcomed inside by his father.
"Come in you two." Fugaku gives a small grin at the two of them.
"I have something important to tell you and mom." Sasuke says loud enough so his mom can come out of the kitchen, which worked because she arrives to stand next to her husband.
"As of today Sakura and I will begin to date." He says it so bluntly that Sakura's eyes widen like saucers at him. 'How is he saying this all with a straight face?' Her heart thumps loudly at Sasuke's reciprocation of her feelings.
"We're happy for you son." Fugaku pats Sasuke on his left shoulder with a proud smirk on his face.
"How about you stay the night with us Sakura-chan? It's almost midnight anyway." Mikoto side glances Sasuke with a knowing grin 'you brought her home so she wouldn't leave, you're not that slick Sasuke.'
"Arigato-gozaimasu Uchiha-san, I'll be gone by morning." Sakura promises, even though she could've called a taxi to drop her at her 1 room apartment.
"You can sleep on Sasuke's bed for the night, and he'll sleep on a futon. Sound good to you kids?"
"Yes ma'am." Sakura agrees with the conditions.
When they arrive in Sasuke's bedroom, Sasuke hands her a disposable tooth brush and a pair of black trousers and shirt to wear.
When it was time to sleep, Sasuke gently pulls Sakura down next to her on his futon and they just stare eye to eye for a long time. An old habit of their's. Not before long Sasuke caresses her cheek and leans closer to her until she places her lips on his. The kiss was tender, romantic, and longing with love.
Before things would go out of hand, Sasuke reluctantly pulls back and pecks her forehead before saying "Goodnight." As he urges her to lie down on his bed at the same time he lies on his futon.
This was just the beginning of a new chapter for the both of them.

1-50 :D (for xxx: Blurred Lines; 42: Aokise Songfics (Need You Now); 46: Try- and Keep Trying; 47, made up title: In the man behold a child) â€ïž
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
Oof. 12 ish? FFNet But we donât speak about it; the site or the writing :P
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
Right now, Iâm more invested in aokise / knb fandom and well, once invested, itâs hard to pull my focus :P Other fandoms Iâm interested in writing in as of the moment are Owari No Seraph (Gureshin :P) and Seven Deadly Sins (man, thatâs lovely hell)
3) Do you prefer writing OCâs or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
Probably OCs? I havenât written OCâs in a while but heck, reader inserts sounds kinda of awkward to write :P
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
âŠis angst with a happy ending a genre?(Otherwise maybe coming of age?)
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
Blurred Lines is the only one that has an actual plot :P and is multi chaptered :P. Itâs also got a couple of my favorite tropes such as mutual pining & simultaneous obliviousness. To be honest, I normally donât edit my works before I put them out (sometimes Iâll get a loving friend to look at it tho :PPPPPP) because I canât bear reading what Iâve written without cringing, but yeah, I thought Blurred Lines was pretty good :D in terms of writing skill because Iâve been able to read it again aha and I thank all the wonderful people who showered me the work with compliments.
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
LMAO WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I HAVENâT ALREADY? If I delete stories, itâs always for the reason Iâm disappointed with it in hindsight, or xD embarrassed I produced such poo.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
Night time becuz I like to procrastinate, itâs quiet and the dark is cozy.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Other writers/stories, canon material, music, random insights at odd times, prompts sparked by single words or little phrases, prompts from sites or book quotes or from friends and epiphanies, and then mostly I donât :PÂ
9) In your Blurred Lines fic, whatâs your favourite scene that you wrote?
Chapter 5, the (two I guess?) scene where Aomineâs really upset and Kise makes it his job to take his mind off of it; itâs a memorable moment for both of them because Kiseâs determination and hard work really gets to show (SEIRIN GAH; jskghjkghg sg lgsg gsjlsd) in front of two people that mean a lot: himself and Aomine, and for Aomine, itâs an example of how he can be weak and injured too, and is so much more than some give him credit for.
10) In your fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind? Nah, I really liked how it ended actually :) Happy after endings are my favorite :)
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms youâve received after posting it?
Iâve only gotten harsh criticism once or twice and man, you shouldâve seen me RAWRR in their faces :P. Sometimes self criticism- ex: dislike of plot- will get me to edit though; and then there are just times where Iâve been lazy but reading the work, Iâll see flaws that definitely have to be changed and will proceed to do so.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Aomine and Kise are the most fun imo. I go wild with both because of the complexity to both their characters and simply, the inspiration you can see from different works of other authors (Ex: MoustachePenguin wrote JustBreathe with Kise who had crushing depression and KaijosCopyCat wrote When It Rains, It Rains Bullets, where Kise is actually more jaded than Aomine is); point being said, thereâs enough material to make a lot reasonable.Kise is fun for his masks and layers; Aomine is great for his relativity. And of course, you can always find a way to knit in angst of some sort :PÂ
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
Lots man. Kuroko, Murasakibara-
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.Â
SO. Remember how it was planned as a one-shot aha :P Iâd gotten 3 chapters and Âœ written out before I said screw it and posted them before gradually working on the rest :PÂ
Anyways, Iâd only then finished on a final summary, and with one of the parts being âLines Blurringâ, I thought heck letâs roll with that.
Oh also! Had a hard time getting that summary out. gotta thank my special, one and only snowflake.
15) If you write OCâs, how do you decide on their names?
- Likes to indulge myself; Iâll base OCs of some real characters, then twinkle with the name little bit, maybe adding extra letters or finding names with similar meanings?
- It also has to do with how the name tastes. You know how some words just flow better? (Connotation and all that :P) but like, Jewel over Gem, Crystal over Jewel, Ruby over Everything, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
Was a prompt- (voldetort :P)
but i was given an open ending option and then i took it and ran with it and turned it into angst with happy ending :P
17) Post a line from a WIP that youâre working on.
Kise stuck out his tongue, Aomine smirked, and they let Momoi laugh herself dry.
18) Do you have any abandoned WIPâs? What made you abandon them?
Yah, who doesnât? :PP (atop of the temporarily abandoned WIPs :PPP) Either loss of enthusiasm, lack of ability (time, but mostly procrastination :P) to write, or post-insights that lemme realize the story is unsatisfying to the point of repulsive :P
19) Are there any stories that youâve written that youâd really love to do a sequel to?
Maybe Blurred Lines? Struggle them through 2nd year of school, relationship where itâs so much more precious than a regular, âwe-just-began-a-ârelationshipâ because of the stakes. (But then Iâd have to like write a conflict???and my inability to be creative would hinder that :P)
20) Are there any stories that you wished youâd ended differently?
I havenât really âendedâ any stories of worthy length, but for Blurred Lines :P. Which had an okay ending in my opinion, though maybe hurriedly carried out XDI imagine when I do get to finishing more/other stories, I might? Because I can be impulsive. :P But then again, I take a heck long time to procrastinate; and sometimes that means more time to think about how a story wants to go- in these cases, I donât, usually :)
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
I am heck into lots of writers.
Roch; VanillaDaydreams22 (tumblr) and just VanillaDaydreams (ao3) is a great friend and writer :P with a lovely, descriptive style of fluid writing.
A famous one would be moustachiopenguin - wrote lots of heart wrenching stories; aha we both know :P So, imagination, use of plot, detail, etc.
And then thereâs an up and new coming one; her name starts with a Y and ends with a U.
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
Literally all of them. :P Anything from over 4-6 months in particular is a bit of, no thanks :P
23) Do you prefer listening to music when youâre writing or do you need silence?
I prefer music, even though sometimes itâs not helpful and actually, is a hindrance :P but music always helps the mood~
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Laughs.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Writing? Nah. Reading? Heck, few times.
26) Which part of your Blurred Lines fic was the hardest to write?
All of it cause I didnât want to write it, I wanted to waste time~
- In the later chapters, carrying out Aomineâs realization for feelings was a little difficult; I had Satsuki sort of catalyze his action, because heâs pretty heckin determined to get Kise in his unconscious mind; Satsukiâs rejection just enforces the feeling he needs to express himself, though hard. But I occasionally would wonder whether Aomine was made too soft, or OOC in general.
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
My impulsiveness pushes me towards flow; but for fics requiring detail, general outline help XD no matter how âgeneralâ.
28) What is something you wished youâd known before you started posting fanfiction?
Maybe just the fact that the fandoms Iâd get to were in existence :D like how some of us talked about, would have been pretty cool to write with the other gazillion of fan- tho, then again, wouldnât trade them for you guys aha
Thereâs a lot of things Iâve learned from it and only with the actual writing action have I come to understand the things :P
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesnât get as much love as youâd like?
Maybe Lazy or No Questions Asked. Lazy, because it was the first time Iâd written something short but with a bit of story to it still, yâknow? :P And then No Questions Asked because I just love the trope of uncertainty and obliviousness and pining in the middle of aokise.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Honestly? Say It. It was short and okay but like, plot-wise? Not sure if it deserved all the kindness it/I got XD
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
I havenât written any OCs in a while! I imagine one I get back to doing so, they could be :P
33) Whatâs the biggest compliment youâve gotten?
Not quite sure. I have shit memory sometimes aha, but all the support is good :D
34) Whatâs the harshest criticism youâve gotten?
On one of my first fics, which Iâd written 24 chapters / 40K (GASP I KNOW :D ITâLL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN *SMILES THROUGH THE TEARS OF SAD*) I was told the other chapters should be deleted because it was so bad. But like, the reader had posted said criticism through at least half of the work so :P and a couple of chapters later, said, âThis is better! But change everything before this.âI actually got a lot of help/reviews becasue Iâd asked for them from various authors aha and fandom was popular and lively; the criticism just went straight through my ears I think. XD
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
I like getting a second opinion if Iâm insecure about the idea (often, you guessed right
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIPâs?
No.
jkjk :P I currently have 4 active WIPs. 1. SECRET (for fanzine :PP), 2. As Long As You Love Me (CJâs prompt) 3. Some Stuff Has Actually Changed 4. Oops I Did It Again
37) Whatâs the funniest story youâve written?
What is humor explain??!?!?
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If youâre shy, donât tag the blog, just name it.
- You silly.- Roch + CJ- You, super lovely
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
3rd for the most of it. Iâve never written with 1st before but Iâm considering it for a work thatâd require an extensive cast. 2nd also strikes me as fun though, because of this angsty story Iâd read where Kise was the narrator but done through 2nd? 2nd also seems very poetic and Iâd like to try it out some day for fun :P
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
Yeet :P
41) Whatâs you favourite minor character youâve written?
Nijimura, Jellal, you name it XD all of them??? You know my tendency to avoid protagonists :P
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song Need You Now
Itâs a quarter after one, Iâm all alone and I need you nowSaid I wouldnât call but I lost all control and I need you nowAnd I donât know how I can do without, I just need you now
Angsty and perfect for pining ships.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
LMAO Iâve never written a fic long enough for a plot twist to occur; B) I DONâT WRITE PLOT?? XD
44) What is the last line you wrote?
A victory, Kise should think, should be thinking. What is there instead is empathy, but sadness anyways. Oh AominecchiâŠ
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Not much. There are periods of time when I donât want to write at all and I will find excuses of any kind to get off my laptop, or stay on, and just not write aha. What helps is typically at night when I feel semi-tired, Iâll be motivated to write enough to be a pleasant thought before bed.
46) I really loved your Try and Keep Trying fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
GoM have a Winter Cup Banquet and thereâs alcohol there. AoKise has done a lot more pining and both gotten better at hiding it. They meet awkwardly at the event becuz of their friends talking to each of their friends and then suddenly disappearing while AoKise are startled, staring at each other. Cautious tense talk tried to be made easier by both of them; Kise makes a joke like, âAlcohol would make this a little easier, right Aominecchi?â
And Aomine blurts out stupid becuz high strung, smth like, âIs that what you thought the last time?â
AND THEN, Kise is also high strung right, so his reply is probably something dumb; maybe a few more lines and then:
KISE ACCIDENTALLY CALLS HIM âDAIKIâ AND THEY BOTH JUST FREEZE AND BLUSH PROFUSELY BC THEYâRE REMINDED OF THE KISS AND FDSJFS AHO REALIZES KISE DID N O T FORGET - and heâ quick to press Kise for an explanation but Kise is sure this is going to lead to heartbreak, that Aomineâs frantic (heart beating at 12432 beats a second) and desperate (to know becuz becuz if Kise- if Ryouta-) demands of Kise to tell him the truth are from a place of piss/fury. When Aomine realizes Kise is only shying away from his emotional cornering/words more and more, Aomine does the only thing he can think of and kisses Kise again and again and again.
Kise realizes he means it, Aomine is almost heartbroken over how Kise couldnât understand he meant it; both are overwhelmingly overjoyed becuz câmon. MUTUAL pining, not just pining :P and then THAT turns into cautious, hopeful, cautious prompts for dating.
47) Hereâs a fic title -Â In the man behold a child
(Uni AU)Aomine pines after Kiseâs ass and he constantly sends him is inviting him: âCâmon Kise, kiss me and Iâll shut up forever.â and âCâmon Kise, Iâd be a great fuckbuddy. No string attached but sex. Iâll be gone immediately.â, lots of, âCâmon Kise. Iâm fun. Iâll give you want you want, what you need.â and more earnest and genuine stuff, âI know I sound like Iâm kidding, and maybe parts of me wereâŠbut I meant it when I said I love you. And Iâll wait until you finally hear Iâm fully serious.â
Eventually, Kise comes to realize he is serious. The fact that Aomine really has matured as a person over time and that he really loves Kise. Who also realizes maybe a little bit of the fact that heâd never needed a real relationship because Aomine sort of checked off all the boxes; and so, (poetically aha; i thought of this at last moment XD) child Kise is also revealed in man Kise for being oblivious and little bit scared (because thatâs what teens/kids are good at Aha?)
Ofc, then Kise finally says yes, though hesitant still; Aomine takes him slowly through love and all the good stuff :P
48) Whatâs your favourite trope to write?
Angst with a Happy Ending, Mutual Pining/Obliviousness & Uncertainty, Friends to Lovers, Friends to Lovers to Enemies to Friends to Lovers, anything with a slight of itâs hard and if weâre not being told weâre gonna make it through, how can i be reassured now that we will; but youâve got friends to rely on so itâll be okay OTHERWISE KNOWN AS Angst with a Happy Ending :P
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
Something from Warrior Cats
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
(Both both is good)
YOU CANâT MAKE ME CHOOSE.
But like, if angst with a happy ending counts as angst??? Than that :PFluff is good but you have to have a reason that makes it even sweeter :P
