“The Rise of Kylo Ren” + TROS theory (with TROKR pics)
I’ll probably look like a clown in 16-17 days when “The Rise of Kylo Ren” #2 releases but whatever lol—after TROS I believe even more that the former leader of the Knights of Ren (Ren) is Ben from another timeline or a future gone (more) wrong
Anyways, my thoughts on this:
1) remember the outrageous “Ben sets the temple ablaze and runs away” from the Visual Guide? I’m sure it’s probably just even more retconning (like a ton of stuff from the VD), but what if it’s literal—except it’s just that the Ben who does it isn’t the Ben we know, therefore making it true while retaining “our” Ben’s innocence. Another option (painful but, I think, absolutely plausible) is that Ben himself accidentally set on fire the temple with his rage and sorrow unleashing a Force storm. However, the way the “prologue” of TROKR #1 ends (I’ll talk about later on in this post) seems kind of like a foreshadowing that Ben (well, “our” Ben) didn’t do it...? Kind of interesting, and hopefully we won’t have to wait until issues #3 and #4 (february and march) to know about that important detail
2) this interview with Charles Soule (the writer) and Will Sliney (the artist) dedicates, curiously, the first 3-4 paragraphs solely to talking about Ren—and the article, which is from the official SW webpage (an article called “Introducing ‘Ren’ in Marvel’s The Rise of Kylo Ren”), starts like this: “they call him Ren, but that wasn’t always his name”. Which is also how the comic starts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... Tell me this doesn’t sound suspicious as kriff and like foreshadowing
And the interview keeps going like this: “Born out of the flames,” as artist Will Sliney puts it, the leader of the Knights of Ren in the opening pages of the new comic Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #1, arrives battle-scarred and wearing a fearsome, featureless mask — a blank expression save for a smattering of claw-like gouges. Concealed within is a charismatic leader, the exact type of person who would be able to seduce young Ben Solo away from the path of the Jedi.” Then they basically proceed to spend the first 4 paragraphs talking a lot about Ren besides talking about Ben (and then, lastly, about Snoke—and, fun fact: they knew about the Snoke twist of TROS beforehand), although I think they talk less about Ben even
3) Ben being compared to Anakin while Ren is compared to Darth Vader, except Charles Soule wanted Ren to read “like a more charming Darth Vader. “A Vader who is charismatic and who is appealing. That’s why [Ren’s] skin is burned and he sort of looks the way that he does. He’s embracing the seductiveness and the damage that the dark side does. Darth Vader, as impressive and imposing and terrifying as he is, is remote and cold and distant because he has the suit surrounding him. Whereas Ren isn’t hiding behind it. He’s someone you could have a beer with, in theory.”
4) more interesting interview stuff. “Designed purposefully for the new comic series, with issue #1 out now, Ren feeds the evolution of Kylo Ren. “The entire seductiveness of the dark side poured into one character engineered for Ben Solo is Ren,” Soule says. “He’s sort of a charming evil rascal that can be really fun to write and I really like where he goes in the series. But if Kylo Ren is going to take over the Knights of Ren, which we know that’s what happens, there should be some transition.”
Also: “I think the key to writing Ben Solo is to write him as a lost teenager who is deeply in touch with emotions that teenagers often feel,” Soule says. “He feels like no one understands him, no one sees him the way he actually is, he’s utterly alone and there’s no one else out there in the universe. So when he sees Ren, he’s like, ‘Wait a minute — maybe there is somebody like me in the universe. Maybe there is a path for a guy like me. Look at the choices he’s made. I could make those choices, too, and I could be cool.’”
So... This is interesting. We have Snoke manipulating Ben to go to him, at first making himself appear friendly, while on some measure Palpatine’s pulling the strings from Snoke (I don’t think he would be like a puppet with Palps’ voice, though, given that chapter of the TLJ non-junior novelization that has a lot of stuff from Snoke’s perspective, but who knows). But then, Ben Solo’s basically obsessed with Vader... and, apparently, this Ren’s a walking dark side temptation for Ben. Well... We’ll see what happens, I guess
Also, crying inside at reading that “wait a minute—maybe there is somebody like me in the universe. Maybe there is a path for a guy like me. Look at the choices he’s made. I could make those choices, too, and I could be cool”. If Ren really was Ben from another time seeking to change things (probably something related to Rey): the implications that this has, the emotions that this has, the power that this has
Interesting, too, that it hasn’t been said if it’s Snoke who’s “the master” of the KoR (yes, they do have a master on top of their own leader), but that only gets weirder because the KoR were revealed time ago to be only loyal to their leader and to the “Ren philosophy” (which also makes possible ties with Snoke alone impossible)—so, if Snoke and the First Order aren’t, then who is it? Palpatine? Still, again, there’s the philosophy thing of following only their group leader...
Oh and: the Ren philosophy sounds very intriguing and I’m liking it a lot
(For context of the next pics: there are two brothers, being one of them Force-sensitive, and both the KoR and someone called SecSec are trying to recruit them—but the non-Force-sensitive one kills the other, which means the KoR doesn’t accept him, and Ren kills him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5) just after that panel, in this pic below they talk a bit about “the master” here, being Ren who says it. Also it’s interesting that, after that happens, the KoR part ends with Ren saying "let’s go find something to burn”:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that there’s a page as if this kind of prologue has finished, showing a page with the logo of the comic and all that... and then, next page it’s Ben standing in front of the fire and ruins of the temple all shocked (a note here: on that page it reads “now” and the name of the location, and the “prologue” happened “long ago”). I’d say that really looks like foreshadowing...
Now the thing is... If the KoR are not affiliated in any way with the First Order nor Snoke, and the KoR is only interested in recruiting Force-sensitives for their ranks, then how come they could’ve arrived in Luke’s Jedi temple... just at that right time to burn it down? I mean, right, there can be coincidences, but— uh, that might be a bit too much of a coincidence, perhaps? Who knows...
6) interview intensifies. “Born out of the flames”, is how Sliney describes Ren—well, thought it was worth mentioning this because guess what mythological being is born out of the flames too. Also, funny the parallel between that and the publisher’s summary of “The Rise of Kylo Ren” #3 (scheduled for February 12th): “Soon, BEN SOLO'S path will end in a place of fire and blood, and a shadow will rise to take his place. He is with the KNIGHTS OF REN now, and they will welcome him, if he can pay their price.” Well, given that “our” Ben starts becoming Kylo Ren after what happens at the temple, and that they describe Ren (referring to the former leader of the KoR) like being “born out of the flames”... this does nothing to deterr me from believing this theory, to be honest
7) more from the interview. “ The creative team engineered some surprises for this charming dark sider, a foil in many ways to Darth Vader hiding beneath his protective covering. “You expect the dude hiding his face under a mask like that to be all messed up, particularly with his body looking the way it does,” Soule says. But in issue #2 we’ll see what he’s truly concealing, a reveal that speaks to Ben on a whole other level” … This whole paragraph, I swear. Sounds like when they talked in the times between TFA and TLJ about Ben’s face behind his mask, and about his unmasking. Also, the talk about the face reveal…
What kind of “reveal that speaks to Ben on a whole other level” could it be? I don’t think they’d be referring to that with something more going on in his face, as in, scars or charred skin. In fact, it wouldn’t make sense for Ren to cover that up given that he shows with pride his scarred body
And faces of men he might know? The probabilities just lower and narrow soooo much here. We have yet to see, however, if Ben gets the reveal as a kid or an adult, which could make a difference. Still, back to “what man could this guy be”, I just can’t think of someone that he’d recognize and have this impact on him... ... And now it’s when it’s a Ben clone from another timeline, lol
8) that big panel on “The Rise of Kylo Ren” #2 where the KoR and Ren are facing Luke, Ben and Lor San Tekka, and Ben and Ren seem to mirror poses:
Tumblr media
9) this is jut something that came to my mind, but… It still bugs me to this day the phrase “it is you” that Ben says regarding Rey on the TFA novelization (when she calls forth the Legacy lightsaber), because Ben didn’t know back then about them being a dyad, nor have we seen any mentions to him having dreamt of Rey before or anything—so maybe Ben’s encounter (encounters? Still not sure about it) with Ren involved Ren telling him something that will happen in the future? Something which could also tackle that random “which girl?”
The sad thing, if Ren was really Ben from the future? Like I said in my previous post about this teory (pre-TROS): ... that Ben would’ve literally killed himself, and therefore made true what he told Han that his son is dead and that he’d killed him (which then is reversed in TROS with that “Kylo Ren is dead, my son is alive”). That would be such a kriffing trauma for Ben that I don’t know if I could stomach it, after seeing Ben’s death in TROS... I mean, we would literally be seeing another Ben die... even if somehow his actions meant a worse future would have been avoided
Anyways my brain seems to find fuel in angst (why), because now reading “Ren” only makes me think of Ben’s name but taking on the “R” from Rey if in that future something happened to her...  (Or that the Knights would be called “of Ren” in reference to Ben and Rey)
... And now it’s when we’ve been played like a fiddle all along and the novels, with their differences/expanded material as hints (like the “it is you” in the TFA novelizations), are but one of the timelines. Can you imagine? To cite the TLJ non-junior novelization: “time is a circle. The end is the beginning”. At this point I believe anything could happen, specially after seeing TROS and how wtf it’s all that surrounds it...
10) to finish the post, the thing that made me start thinking Ren could be Ben: the hair that peeks from below the helmet looks apparently like Ben’s both in shape and color (an interesting detail is how the color of their hair seems to match in tone: in issue #1 it’s brownish for the both of them even though one’s surrounded by fire and the other by ice, and on the preview pages of issue #2 their hair is shown black). And in a universe so diverse as SW, and given that Ren and Ben are characters so connected, that’s a pretty... interesting choice. Here are some more images for comparison between Ben and Ren:

4, 1, and 19, if you want?
oh yeah let's goooOo
1. do you find force-users or non-force-users more interesting?
ok so, i honestly can’t answer this question directly bc what i find the most interesting is when these two interact with each other. because focusing on just Force users is... well... not that fun. it turns into OP characters slinging shit at each other 90% of the time, so if they don’t have an important relationship outside of their Force use, like Vader and Ahsoka as fallen master/big brother to defected apprentice/little sister, their Force powers become the focus and that’s only cool for like a fight scene or something. which is one drop in the ocean of what makes interesting stories or even good fight scenes! for example Vader’s fight with Ahsoka in Rebels is way more interesting than Yoda’s duel with Palpatine or Anakin’s first duel with Dooku or...
this isn’t as long as i was afraid it would be but ima throw it under a cut just for the sake of the mobile users lol
the best interaction between two Force users that focuses on the Force itself is Kanan and the Bendu, because the Bendu is so unlike every other Force user we’re aware of that finally something is interesting again. it’s no longer about good/evil or light/dark, it’s about transcending your own limitations and seeing everything for what it truly is. it’s about the real power of the Force, how it connects nature and the senses and the cycles of life and death. it’s about finding peace in yourself within that chaos that will always surround you, rather than trying to control the chaos (either by wielding it like the Sith, or by subduing it like the Jedi). it’s the objective and impersonal wisdom that can only come from radical acceptance in lieu of believing that a thing “should” or “should not” be a certain way, which is what Kanan is struggling with. i also hate how passive the Bendu is, despite also loving him a lot, but that’s a whole ‘nother essay lol
otherwise my interest comes from non-users and how they interface with users. you already addressed this re: vague and/or cultural notions of the Force (seeing users as religious zealots or practitioners of magic, etc) and how that would or, perhaps more importantly, would not influence a non-user’s life or choices politically or personally. but when mundane life comes up against those who use the Force, the friction is absolutely fascinating
the thing that irks me is that we don’t get enough of this in the canon. it might have been explored more in some of the legends (i am still wading around in the old EU, so i don’t know all the nuances yet) but what i wanna know is: why did Leia think that raising her son (kids, if you go with the old EU) and leading the New Republic was a tradeoff with being trained by Luke? would her non-Force sensitive allies and peers in the NR think her use was an asset or a threat? was Han Solo afraid of his son’s Force powers (which would be totally reasonable)? how did the parents of the kids taken by the Jedi Order actually feel about that, and what happened if they resisted? how did the fucking janitors of the Jedi Temple feel about it? if you live on an impoverished world where black market trade is the only reliable source of regular income, do you just think the Jedi are cops? we know how the Mandalorians felt about the Jedi, but they’re the only non-Force users (at least mostly, seeing as there are a few Mandos who are sensitive after all) that we know have a mostly unified and negative opinion of the Jedi mostly bc they were the only non-users who dared to stand up to them and they got fucking wiped out for it- and the Jedi had to fall back on ethically dubious means to accomplish that. so what was Satine’s opinion of having a Jedi escort before she went all uwu over Obi-Wan? what about the other species and cultures? how would they handle becoming close to (either emotionally or out of some necessity) a Force user? THESE ARE THE THINGS I WANNA KNOW
4. what headcanon will you defend to the death?
this is a struggle for me bc there are so many good ones, some of which conflict with each other but are still good so i will entertain either, and i have some of my own. i will defend someone’s right to their own headcanon even if i don’t fuck with it personally.
but i gotta say... Mace isn’t dead tho
if Maul can get cut in fucking half.... ijs
19. what’s your opinion on legends/expanded universe?
there is a lot of really awesome shit in the legends. i have no reverence for one over the other unless it’s important in the context of whatever i am writing/reading. i enjoy having two canons to pick from when i write tbh. i like that legends Thrawn is actually kind of a ruthless and feral dude, but new canon Thrawn is an antivillain (don’t get me started on the continuity problems between Rebels and the novels, that was pure lack of communication on the part of the creators and is just annoying same as the entire sequel trilogy). i think the new canon should have drawn more on some of the good stuff from legends; for example i wish Ben Solo was even remotely as cool as Jacen Solo, the character from legends that he’s very loosely based on. i think without the expanded universe stuff, Star Wars would not be what it is, and that is the most important thing about it.
plus it includes KOTOR I & II and that is obviously VERY crucial lol

MY THOUGHTS ON MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE
I know it has been a while since I made an actual post, but school and laziness got in the way.
But here I am giving you guys another movie review!
(Quick side note, I saw this movie due to the HASBRO LEAK, I know I said that we shouldn’t do that but I am so sorry I will never download leaked movies again. I am sorry for being a hypocrite.)
So, oh my god this movie actually happened!
The FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC SHOW came out in 2010, and the show still goes on to this very day! It’s so unreal that the show is still airing! And I love the series so much, it’s actually the best cartoon show airing today. Yeah, I said it.
Tumblr media
And when I heard that a 2D animated movie based on this show was going to be released in theaters, I. WAS. PUMPED!
There was a celebrity cast involved, along with the original cast from the show involved as well.
Tumblr media
I was so excited for this movie to come out, I was wondering what this movie could possibly be about!
And then, in mid 2015, the plot synopsis of the movie was revealed! From MOVIEWEB, it reads:
“In the movie, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity, embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.”
When I read that synopsis, I felt skeptical. But it was just a synopsis, the final movie can still be good!
And then I saw the movie.
Now look, no matter what movie I’m about to watch, I always give them the benefit of the doubt. Even when I was about to see THE EMOJI MOVIE, while I knew it was going to be bad, I still gave the movie a chance.
And then I saw the movie. And . . . *sighs* it was not good. Really bad, it was. I thought at first it was just okay, but after thinking about the movie and then watching it again with my analytical eyes, I came to this conclusion: THIS ANIMATED MOVIE IS ONE OF THE WORST ANIMATED MOVIES I’VE SEEN IN YEARS.
HEAR. ME. OUT!
I am not hating on this movie just because I can or because I had a lot of plot theories in my head and they didn’t come true (*coughs* Last Jedi). I just simply don’t like this movie, and there are many reasons why.
Before I get into the actual movie, I want to go somewhere else. I want to tell you guys about the behind the scenes aspect of this movie.
Developing wise, the story should have been done better. It was predictable, this movie was.
But lets get into the behind the scenes now.
I DO NOT KNOW THE BUDGET OF THIS MOVIE!
Really, CARTOONBREW said the production budget was from $5 to $8 million, but then EQUESTRIADAILY  and other MLP forums said that the movie was around $20-$30 million. So I’ll say that based on that, the movie’s budget is fron $5 to $30 million towards the production of this movie.
And the animation software for this movie was TOON BOOM HARMONY.
Tumblr media
It is a well known 2D animation software that was used in this movie, combining 2D animation with 3D CGI animation for the settings and so forth.
I thought the animation would be in-house software, meaning only the company making the film would be using the software that they made, instead of using software that is open to the public. But still, TOON BOOM is still good software for animation from what I have heard of.
And then we go back into 2014 where the current showrunner of the show, Megan McCarthy, announces that the MLP MOVIE will not only get made into a feature length movie, but it will also be released in March 2017, which was eventually moved to October of that same year I. WAS. HYPED!
And then in 2015 at PonyCon Australia, she was asked if the movie was going to have the same tone and feel that the EQUESTRIA GIRLS movies have. She replied by basically saying that the movie would be just ...”straight up pony friendship is magic.”.
But if you would watch the behind the scenes look at the movie, along with that same interview in PonyCon, the main reason for her making this movie WAS NOT because she had a complex story or new story in mind, but literally because that she wanted to go big on scope and atmosphere. (Watch the first five minutes.)
youtube
So.... nothing on story and character development and nothing on bringing in more people to know about the show, just the big picture, she wants.
She’s basically saying this:
youtube
(Watch from 2:21-2:25)
And now we get into the animation part. Then I will get into the story/characters, and then I will tell you guys my conclusion.
So for the animation, it’s a mixed bag. For one, the animation on the mane 6, Spike, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Tempest, Storm King, Grubber, and the seaponies are all well done. Granted, there were moments where Twilight and Pinkie Pie would make weird faces, and all I could think of is, “Wow, the animators really like to show off.” LOL. Still, the animators did a good job with those characters.
Tumblr media
HOWEVER! Onto the negative side on the animation.
(THE REST OF THIS REVIEW WOULD BE FULL OF SPOILERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.)
When it comes to the settings, the buildings, and certain characters that I’ll mention in just a bit, they look out of place and unfinished.
Maybe it’s because the final script was finished two months before the movie was released? (I read the script during the leak and now it’s gone, but the date for the final script when finished said it was on 8/15/2017. August 15 of this year, and the movie was released on October 6.)
But when it comes to the HAN SOLO RIPOFF Capper, Celaeno and her crew, they look unfinished.
Think about this. The movie’s production budget was very low. So the animators probably had some trouble to animate the entire movie. But there have been other 2D animated movies like SONG OF THE SEA where the budget may be low, but can still be animated very beautifully. This movie however, has some glaring issues with that.
The settings, as I said, look unfinished and out of place. When you place two dimensional in a setting surrounded by buildings that look unfinished, the film takes me out of there and I question why these buildings are there. It takes me out of the experience.
And now to Capper and Celaeno and Celaeno’s crew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They look great in these pics, but whenever they move and interact with other characters on screen, it just feels weird. Think about this: the ponies and the other characters that I mentioned before looked great, but the ponies looked the best because even with the very low budget, the animators knew the show and they knew how to animate these characters in this movie.  That’s why whenever they’re talking, running, walking, and doing cool moves, it looks amazing and the animation there feels smooth and fluid.
But whenever you see Celaeno and Capper, they would never run, flip, do moves, or do anything else besides talking and walking, (Celaeno does very little when it comes to kicking the bad guys. And Capper only runs once, but for like 5 seconds. but that’s it.) that’s because with the new character designs, rushed script, and budget concerns with the animation, you would get characters that don’t move naturally.
Now with the story, the most important part of every movie. I am going to give you guys two point of views, from me being a fan of the show, and from me seeing this as just a standalone movie. So right now this is me as a lover of film and seeing this as a standalone movie. Now, onto the story.
*sighs* WHAT STORY!?
It’s just, inconsistent and predictable.
But let’s get into the story, shall we?!
So the opening of this movie has three random ponies that we don’t know flying above the clouds and then flying down towards Equestria, while the pony version of WE GOT THE BEAT is playing. *sighs* The fucking Jimmy Neutron movie used that song, from fucking 2001.
Anyway! The first fifteen minutes in this movie really had no connection to the actual plot of the movie. You would think that because this is this beginning of the movie, this whole fifteen movies would be the whole movie. But here’s the thing, it isn’t the whole movie. So when the actual story happens, it comes right out of nowhere and I’m asking myself, “Wait, what?!”
The whole fifteen minutes is entirely dedicated to Equestria setting up this festival of friendship, this huge glamorous event run by Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Twilight.
Now with the start of this movie, the setup to the world that we are in is very important. Once the audience gets introduced to a world beyond their imaginations, then we should know about this world and feel like we’re people living in that world. Being immersed into the film. But with Equestria in this movie, you don’t really know much about the world. It’s just, we’re here, and that’s it. Nothing really interesting happens, it’s just Equestria pasted into the movie as the backdrop and that’s it.
Even with the character introductions, again, we as a moviegoing audience don’t know who these characters are. The characters are slapped on the big screen and the filmmakers want us to know who these characters upon introduction (not really.), but we don’t. Only the fans of the show know and when making an animated movie based on a television show that some people may not know about, that is not good. (I mean THE SIMPSONS MOVIE is a great example on how to make a great movie that is based on a television show. It doesn’t rely on references to the show without any context of said reference, fan service, and character introductions that don’t feel like actual introductions. It’s a movie that anyone can watch. In the movie, we get introduced to the Simpson family, we know immediately in the beginning that they are a dysfunctional family. Bart is a troublemaker, Lisa is the shy and musically talented one, Marge is the responsible and mature one, and Homer is the dumb one. They all have arcs in the story that are important and are actually built up upon, but I digress.).
There are even prequel comics that explain who the new characters are and introduce the mane 6! Hey, there’s something! Oh wait, it’s not in the movie, so there’s nothing! Studios need to stop relying on comics and other mediums of entertainment to tell the rest of the story instead of the movie doing its job. If movie studios use that method, then they have no faith in their own movie.
It feels like a movie just for the fans, this definitely reminds me of SUICIDE SQUAD LOL.
And then we get to SONGBIRD SERENADE.
Tumblr media
Who is really just a pop star thrown into the movie and is given no character or reason to be there, other than to put a dance number at the end and to have a big pop star that people like (including me) in the movie. She shows up at the beginning for a few seconds, and then we never see her again until the very end.
So after her introduction, we all of the sudden get an introduction to the main villains. And we are introduced to THE HEAVY, TEMPEST SHADOW.
Tumblr media
She takes out Luna, Celestia, and Cadence out very easily, even though the three ponies should not stand around like idiots. They should fucking move to the left or right, you know! *groans*
So the ponies get pwned by one of STORM KING’S GUARDS (THE BIG BAD) by one of the guards using his shield to deflect Twilight’s beam, which makes no sense because he used a regular shield which should have been destroyed, but fuck it, lets just move the story along.
So the mane 6 and Spike need to go to the Hippogriffs, part seapony, part eagle. Thinking that they can help them save Equestria.
As a fan, where’s Discord? Shining Armor with his army? Daring Do? Changelings? Dragons? No mention of them? Well, movie could have been way worse.
So the reason why Tempest is bad makes no sense. At first, we hear from her that she’s sick and tired that ponies use their magic just for parties. But then we hear again that she’s doing this in order for the STORM KING to repair her broken horn, and then later in the film which I’ll explain later, something happened to her as a kid, which is really stupid, dumb, and doesn’t make any logical sense.
So the ponies go to this dirty looking village called KLUGETOWN. And Twilight tells her friends reasonably that they need to keep a low profile, they can’t get captured, and they can’t trust someone who will back stab them. But Pinkie is like, fuck it, I’m going to do the exact opposite! And then the villagers surround the ponies and they all want to buy Spike for some reason, which introduces Capper. And just because he saved them once, every character excluding Twilight, trust him now. Rarity calls him “charming” and Rainbow Dash calls him “awesome”. And this brings me to the biggest problem in this movie besides the story . . . it’s the characters.
While the new characters have no development and do nothing of importance, the ponies, excluding Twilight, are jackasses! They constantly fuck shit up in this entire movie and they never apologize for what they did. Pinkie draws attention when Twilight specifically told her not to, because they were on an important mission. Then her friends would trust the pirates that were about to kill them. Also, Rainbow Dash does a sonic rainboom above the pirates’ ship and draws attention to Tempest. Then I swear to god, when hiding with her friends, Dash says to Twilight, “Did you think they saw my rainboom?”
Jesus Christ.
And then Pinkie Pie, again, just jumps into some little pond area where the seaponies live without thinking what will happen if she did jump in the water. And she trusts the seaponies even though she just met them. Lets talk about the seaponies, especially QUEEN NOVO.
Tumblr media
To me, she’s the biggest bitch in the whole movie. I know she felt wary about strangers entering her kingdom, which is reasonable, but she doesn’t have to be a rude bitch towards Twilight!
Think about this scenario:
Imagine me as a very rich person, I’m wearing rich clothing, walking with my entourage, and I am holding a very powerful orb that can cure all diseases. So then a homeless man runs up to me:
Man: Please help me, my son is very sick, him and I are homeless, and he’s dying! *looks at the orb* Use that on my son, please! He doesn’t have much time left!
Me: *smirks and smiles* No no no! This is how it usually works! I only help the people I know. I don’t help people that I don’t know. It’s not like I can be a kind soul where innocent people are dying and I can save them, that’s just not me. So fuck off while I use my money on more expensive clothing. So go fuck yourself!
Yeah, that’s Queen Novo in a nutshell. Twilight needs that orb and Novo refuses to give it to her. Granted, I know the ponies to her on strangers. But Novo knows who the Storm King is, she knows what he has done to her subjects, and Twilight is pretty famous. So Novo not giving a helping hand, or fin, to Twilight and her kingdom, she says no, and literally gets out of her throne just because it was time for her seaweed wrap. Fuck her!
Twilight stealing the orb was surprising to me and was big, and stealing is not right. But while Twilight is having stress over being an inspiring leader and a responsible one too, her friends constantly fuck shit up like it’s nothing. So her friends are on the wrong and Twilight is on the right. If you needed to save your family and you need that orb, would you sacrifice yourself to save it by doing everything you can to get it, or just do nothing and not take action. Like a song and dance number instead. Fuck her friends.
The whole, “I don’t need friends like you” was out of nowhere, but still, it’s just to move the plot along, even if what just happened made no sense.
Then her friends leave her (good job, “friends”) and Twilight gets captured by Tempest. And Tempest sings OPEN UP YOUR EYES to Twilight, while Twilight is inside a magic proof cage.
And this is the part of the movie where Tempest’s past, her motivation into becoming evil, makes no sense.
The very underrated youtuber, THE DISHONOURED WOLF, said it best:

(7:27-7:53)
So, she did something TO HERSELF and she blames everyone else for it?!?!?!
And telling Twilight to “grow up” even though she is a princess with a lot of responsibility and wasn’t acting like her friends for the majority of this movie?!?! Tempest should tell Twilight’s friends that they need to grow up instead. (The show’s characters will always be lovable characters and the movie is a huge spit in the face.)
There are also some audio problems with this movie.
Like this scene:
youtube
It sounds like Sia was singing in a recording studio and it doesn’t feel like she’s singing in that scene.
This scene from GAME OF THRONES sounds like a person is singing in the woods, while you hear a horse’s hooves, birds chirping, and the wind.
youtube
I do like the glance between a torn up Twilight and Songbird, but we know nothing about Songbird and she doesn’t look at everyone else which is very odd and weird.
A whole bunch of shit happens and the Storm King is a weak ass villain, basically STEPPIENWOLF FROM JUSTICE LEAGUE but a thousand times more annoying and with no character motivation or personality.
There’s a scene a few moments later where Twilight has one of two choices:
Take this poweful staff away from the king, to save her kingdom and everypony who is enslaved? Or save the one pony who has been chasing after you throughout your journey, enslaved your entire kingdom, and let the king take her magic away? Which choice do you think Twilight made?
If you guessed the first choice, of course, she didn’t make that choice.
And then at the very end of the movie, Tempest is friends with the ponies even though, again, she enslaved an entire race of ponies. And reveals her true name. Her name is.... FIZZLEPOP BERRYTWIST.
How does that name affect her character? It doesn’t.
THE LEGO MOVIE with Wildstyle, where she revealed that her real name was Lucy. And it works because she wanted to become “the special” and when revealing her name, it shows that she’s just a regular girl, not just a super cool action girl.
FUCK THIS MOVIE.
AN F, THIS MOVIE HAS.
That’s my take.

Entry two: Slacking and working
I definitely know I’m slacking but that’s the greatest part about having an audience that doesn't care what I say. (am I right tumblr)
So my morning was pretty terrible tbh. I let myself down pretty heavily and it wasn’t even anything big. Well never mind because with the way I’m taking my life it should be a huge part of what I’m supposed to be doing.
I got an Alexa to help me keep track of my thoughts but I’m not sure it’s advanced enough yet, but in this era.. all I have to do is wait two years. Anyway, I had Alexa set me reminders to do my shit every hour from 8 A.M
the problem? Went to sleep at 6 and ended up waking up at 11, though when I sleep I’m still weirdly aware of my surroundings so I turned off the reminders. As a result I saw all the work I could have gotten done, but instead spent my time sleeping. That hit me real hard and inspired me to start managing my time better now.
Once up what I did is that I mostly worked on music and made the one minute covers that I always do on my instagram. I’m trying very hard to start a personal brand. I know that it may take my entire life but honestly it’s the only way for me to live the life that I really want.
See my dream is to travel the world and create all sorts of art and meet so many people and experience so many things. The problem is that I know I need a way of making a passive income on the road so that I can effectively travel the world while still being able to do whatever I please. One way of doing this as inspired by Gary V and his book “Crushing it” which is building a personal brand.
Not to mention I can make money of my movies and if my projects (not to be named at the moment) gain high appraise then perhaps I can also sell some scripts or the licensing to scripts. Not to mention my music production is getting better by the day.
Once I was done and finally got the take I wanted (which takes longer than some people realize) I decided to head off to work. I’m kinda bothered by these headphones I got cuz they’re not loud at all and I can’t even hear the words on the train so like what’s the point? But it’s all about saving that money.
Honestly lately I came to the conclusion that it’s okay to let myself spend money on things if it means it’s helping me get ahead. And because I’ve put myself in a position where I’m pursuing what I love, a lot of those things are very enjoyable to me.
When I get to work, early as usual, I sat down and started to practice verses from my phone like always. I’m looking around and I’m getting a weird feeling coming from this girl that I work with. Let’s call her K, so a while back I had a crush on K. I told K because I wanted to get it off my chest, afterward she seemed cool and then she changed after that. There was one day I was going to apologize for making things awkward and she completely cut me off and blew me off. I didn’t even give her the satisfaction I just left.
Now that she sees I’m succeeding and reaching my goals, artistically and physically, everyone seems to be gravitating towards me while I have no control over it. Though it does show what people are honestly fake as fuck. I know that many of you who MAY be reading this are probably not from Los Angeles so let me tell you, it is the most selfish city you’ve ever visited. A place where everyone only cares about who you are, what you do, and what you have. Trying to find something real in this city of concrete is practically slim to none though there is someone I’ve been talking to lately that I have a feeling could potentially change my life.
Not much to say About work, my shift flew by today. The Han Solo movie was coming out and we were supposed to get hit back to back with customers and orders. More than other Fridays, which is saying a lot. But I told myself were going to be dead, completely believing it (that’s how I manifest) and that shit happened. We were dead the whole night, which isn’t normal considering we live down the street from  a movie theatre. Though it has happened before, on Halloween we thought we’d be packed but we weren’t. For working in Hollywood you’d think that wed get a lot of business.
Anyway it was dead, then my manager took me up to my office and I think he tried to fire me. So basically he had a form that was a write up, and he told me that it was a verbal warning nothing big. But when I looked the box that had the cross wasn’t Verbal, first, or second write up. I said final, and so I said, “ this says that this is my final write up. Is that a mistake or something?”
He replied with, “Oh yeah, it might be.”
I stared at him
“here let me cross this out and put it to verbal.”
he took the page and crossed off the final and putting an ex next to the verbal. I then asked if that was legally binding, he said that he’d sign it and it would be. Weirdly enough he asked me what I was doing outside of work, and to his surprise I actually told him.
I’m a private person, but if you just ask me a question I’ll answer it. (depending on context of course) I told about some projects I’m working on and he seemed genuinely surprised at my intelligence. I then went back down to work with a smile on my face, I know there are some people that would love to see me fired. Truth is that when they actually get to know who I am instead of assuming who I am they find me to be better suited to near them. This is why I treasure the friends I have, because they truly get to know and understand me.
I didn’t have to close tonight, I got out at one. On the way home I was listening to music and the switched to my audiobook. Third run through of “Crushing it” and it’s still inspiring. Now I’m sitting at home, my knees actually kinda hurting, which is weird because it feels like the growing pains I had as a kid when my legs grew faster than the rest of my body so it hurt.
I think it’s bed time now! 4:31 A.M
