I agree in that we have become so jaded to the normal occurrences of everyday murders, rapes, shootings, etc. so much so to the extent when something horrible happens (to an animal in this case), we give an outpour of love, sorrow, sympathy, sadness, etc because we can't/don't do it on a day to day basis for our own neighbors and brothers/sisters. I'm not saying this out of righteousness, I am one to blame as well. Of course what happened to the Cecil the lion is terrible, but just the amount of action/outpour was energy on this was spent elsewhere, I wonder just how much impact we can we really have. It's heartbreaking to see how indifferent we have become to each other. Just today I read a news article how a 15 year old boy lured/planned/raped an 8 year old girl. Children hurting other children. You're right, a lion shouldn't be killed, but so shouldn't someone's daughter...or father or uncle or you and I. Christ come soon because this world is so broken with so much suffering. We've lost sight of what's important....-jsoe Repost from @kihonglee via @igrepost_app, #Repost @adrianhong ・・・ "Why don't the newscasters cry when they read about people who die? At least they could be decent enough to put just a tear in their eye." - Jack Johnson #CecilTheLion

If your childhood was anything like mine, you probably had it drilled into your head that metal was never to go into the microwave under any circumstances. For longer than I care to admit, I was convinced that leaving a fork on a plate in the microwave would lead to certain death (or at least the house burning down).
