reid: he despises star signs and anyone who gives them any thought because “where is the SCIENCE?” this bitch is a scorpio. definitely only knows his sun sign. so intense! have you seen the way he looks at things?? the way he stares??? the way he analyses dead bodies??? the way he loves??? ridiculously put together to everyone around him but emotionally life is soup and he is fork. kinky. breaks off bananas little by little with his hands before eating each piece individually because eating them normally is too sensual and he’s paranoid morgan might see him doing it and take a picture. wants the kind of love he reads about. has a superiority complex about having a superiority complex. keeps a straight face while saying literally anything so you cannot tell if he’s being serious or not like one day he’ll just be like “yeah i killed a man with an axe once to enable myself to more easily empathise with future unsubs who potentially work as lumberjacks or have a history of logging. it’s called method axing,” and then leave the room to draw circles on maps or something. believes that parallel parking should work, in theory, but never seems to work for him in practice.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙱𝙴𝙶𝙸𝙽𝙽𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶 : olive is the second and last born to sebastian and lucille remines. sebastian, the owner and heir of his great grandfather’s winery business and lucille, a once aspiring grade-school teacher now settled and content trophy wife. growing up in the upper east side, the remines family is very well known among the other prestigious surnames in nyc; sebastian and lucille are very gallant of their squeaky-clean reputation.

𝙶𝚁𝙾𝚆𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝚄𝙿 : at a very young age perfectionism was instilled in olive. if she did something wrong, instead of telling her it was fine and she would get better, her mother would make her do the task over until she got it right. failure was not an option within the remines family. between studies, extracurriculars, and hobbies olive was told if you weren’t first you were last. olive never dared to rebel against her parents, being deemed as their ‘golden child’. her parent’s knew she would do whatever was asked of her and with discipline. since grade school she was seen as very creative minded, constantly wanting to get her hand on anything that would express herself visually; whether it were paint, glue, pencils, or glitter. through high school she maintained a 3.98 GPA which in retrospect was arduous and stressful that she couldn’t get to the prominent 4.0.

𝟸 𝚈𝙴𝙰𝚁𝚂 𝙰𝚃 𝙱𝙴𝙻𝚅𝙴𝙳𝙴𝚁𝙴 : olive’s parent’s weren’t too thrilled that the girl had chosen belvedere or graphic design; they were hoping she’d help take over the family’s winery and at the least have some sort of major in business. however this is the only thing she has rebelled against them and stuck to. she wanted to be happy and she knew that a life living in her father’s shadow would not be one of those, she also felt her older brother would be more suitable for the job. her first year she rushed kappa chi omega with high hopes and inevitably got a bid, desperately making friends with everyone and anyone who crossed her path. she’d go to parties but never get to the point where she’d black out, was always the type to handle herself and her liquor level, even though this was the first time she wasn’t under the clutches of her parents. start of her junior year she was elected as social chair, which she takes pride in as she is a planner, she loves to organize and contrive the kappa house events.

𝙴𝚇𝚃𝚁𝙰 𝚂𝙽𝙸𝙿𝙿𝙴𝚃𝚂 : just because olive is an overachiever doesn’t mean she isn’t social or like to have fun. she is very outgoing, enjoys adventures, but don’t be surprised if she has part of the trip planned or mapped out. when she gets a nice buzz going you won’t be able to stop her from showing off her incredibly uncoordinated dance moves. she’s the type of friend who will be at your beck and call, she cares deeply for people and is very loyal. tell her your deepest darkest secrets and she’ll hold them to her grave. she’s not the type to fight, in fact if you approach her she’ll curl up into a shell and back down. she does not like confrontation but if she has an issue she will be straightforward and tell you how she’s feeling in the nicest way possible. she doesn’t flaunt her family’s money but she isn’t shy about the name brands she wears and she loves to spend it. if you come to hang out expect some kind of baked goods or snacks freshly made by yours truly. she’s picky when it comes to the guys, is known to not have random hook ups, making her slightly unattainable. however if she finds someone she likes, there’s no stopping her.

Birthday recap: the wind makes nice waves

Hey HEY, three of my very favorite people on this hellsite have birthdays this week, so buckle up for a variety of visual gifts in their honor! Let's kick things off with the tail end of leo season and a very happy birthday to this fandom's best graphic artist, Sam (aka @thewindmakesnicewaves). Her talents are simultaneously a burden, a curse, and a gift, but she's the unsung hero of the Harry Styles hydration alert when all I can find are scraps of text. She's also one of my very favorite taggers because she consistently makes me choke on various beverages, and for that ALONE, she should be saluted and feted throughout the land. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAM!!! <3333

I hemmed and hawed about what this present should be (various members of the D carrying far too many things? lots of hydration moments??), and then it hit me: a recap of the iconic interview that birthed Sam's URL, the moment when Liam Payne's hyperspecific nonsense about being scared of helicopters while surfing prompted Harry Styles to observe that he should (in essence) get over it because the wind makes nice waves and Louis "you do talk some shit in interviews" Tomlinson to respond with a seemingly genuine, "That is true." GOD fucking BLESS. Let’s check it out under the cut!

Like all of One Direction’s interviews, this one's fairly short (12 minutes) and well worth your time if you're bored and/or truly want to ponder spray tans versus real tans (Harry is code-orange GLOWING). Somewhat unrelated, is there only one French man who can interview them whilst in France? It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that Cauet is a PERSON, not a media conglomerate, and maybe they were interviewed by other French journalists back in the day, but he was there for some pretty key moments, like this:

and considering that he WAS there the day of the Paris interview, his question about Harry having a wife and a dog sometime soon during HS1 promo was extra hilarious (clearly Harry still has lots of gimmicky bullshit to do, lmao, help me, Jeffrey):

There's a bunch of randomness about the French guy's pronunciation of “Made in the A.M.” and his opinions about “Perfect,” the new single that he's not too keen on (bastard), but he can't resist the face of tan!Harry prodding, “C'etait fantastique?” and who COULD? Mon dieu!! He's using past tense perfectly well, so stop it with this “the only French I know is me and my boyfriend went to the cinema” bullshit, my god, do I wish I had the power to gif anything, Harry's smart-ass face when he asks, the host's bashful response, sigh

Twin flames, y'all...the amount of times Niall tries/fails to follow Louis's lead, so...close!

But i feel for Niall because Louis low-key edges him along the entire time, what with the quiet asides, inside jokes, nudges, etc. (curse these lack of giffing powers!!)

The French guy wonders aloud how he can directly get the hot goss about when they'll be in France next (or in French-speaking regions), and petty Virgo Niall sarcasts that he'll give him his direct line [nail chew, chew]

“Five albums in five years, has time flown by? Or are you just taking your time?" Harry blathers on about how it feels like a long time ago, but it feels really quick and they're proud etc. etc., and I truly wonder if any of them ever wake up in a cold sweat about any of it, like, answering the same questions day in and day out

This is my vision of a sequel to one of my fave fics, “One day to believe in you,” by Mediaville; they’re together now, and Harry wears Louis’s cursed necklace during interviews as a low-key joke since it doesn’t have the same effect on him:

“Can you tell if a song is a hit?” Liam likes really strong album tracks, which earns him a really strong look from Louis and Harry lmao...Harry “doesn't really know, music changes so much, what people like changes so much, but that's what makes it so exciting” (I sincerely hope ”Medicine 2: I Blue You” comes through for me and Rubia)

With the crazy pace, “Do you wanna just chill?” and of course they do, my god, next question. “Where are you gonna go?” There's mention of the south of France, but another quiet aside provokes a Harry scold, so did they actually do it?? (no...yes...we’ll never know):

There’s a lot of talk about tours, money, the sound of the album, the fans, but it’s kind of boring to type compared to the rest of the exciting bits here, so I’ll spare us all

Next up is an awkward segue into how much French they know, the tee and the swing, mouth along if you know the words, and the truly funny bit is Harry acknowledging that the sentence itself doesn’t make much sense, really, but someone’s there with a solid assist:

But then we get to the main event, what they’d do if they had an hour of not being famous, and Liam talks about going surfing alone because of how scary it was in Australia with all the helicopters in the air, and this whole moment is such an ASIDE, like, you'd never hear it on first blush, you'd be way more focused on Harry and his boyfriend’s cinema date, yet here we are, the helicopters kick up a lot of wind, the wind makes nice waves, and that is certainly true:

(Fwiw, Niall would go to a football game and sit in his regular seat; ditto Louis)

What interview in this era doesn’t mention Zayn’s departure? We all know the script, this time delivered by Liam, and the host makes his case for joining as the fifth member (Louis thinks the jacket works in his favor; I think they need to hire someone who can use better pictures than what’s in the 1D calendar):

There’s a contest to speak some French and win a snowglobe, and they’re all so in need of ANY kind of challenge to stay awake during this type of rote interview that they all perk up and move into competitive mode. Liam’s actually the most worked up about it, but he loses to Niall...no worries, though, Harry’ll buy him one (I have better ones in my bathroom, I’ll just give him one, what is this budget on this show???):

Three horses, three sheep (we used to have hundreds when I was a kid), three cats (two are mine and they’re my babies c: ), and two little dogs—a purebred pug and a pug/Pekingese mix. [25] what did you do for your last birthday: I went out to a restaurant with some of my family. It was a school day for my brothers though, and my younger bro had football practice, so it was really just me, my mom, my grandma, and my sister with her baby.

[27] what were you doing at midnight last night: Pumping out mini profiles for my Pokémon fankids because my priorities are trash. Oh, and playing Candy Crush Jelly.

[35] elementary: Like, elementary school? I guess it was okay… well, except for the boys constantly picking on me. That sucked. And that’s about the time my parents separated. That also sucked. Yeah, elementary school just really sucked.

[36] high school: Oh man I really miss the high school I went to. I flourished so well there and had a great time.

[37] college: Honestly… pretty boring. I’m just taking my general studies and getting them out of the way before I transfer to another college, so I can focus on what I love. The problem is, I really don’t know what I want to do with that. It’s very frustrating.

[38] hair colour: Oh god it always changes because it’s got a bunch of different highlights. It’s like, a reddish-brown with gold highlights, and it gets lighter in the sun. It’s really weird.

[39] long or short hair: Uhh, right now it’s like, a little over shoulder-length. I usually keep it a bit shorter because I never do much with my hair.

[40] do you have a crush on someone: Nope, and when I did get crushes it was always on the wrong kind of person. So I kinda hate crushes on real people since it always disappoints pfft.

[41] what do you like about yourself?: Oh jeez, what DO I like about myself? Well… I guess the fact that I can exceed my own expectations? Like, with driving, I didn’t think I’d do well with it at all—and now that I’ve been driving for over a year now, I’m actually a lot better at it. And on a couple of exams that I took a few weeks ago, I thought I’d get at least a B on them; turns out that I got A’s on both of them. And I like that a lot lol

[42] piercings: I’ve got one in my earlobes, and in high school I used to wear earrings all the time. Now it’s like, kinda sporatic.

[51] surgery: When I was in first grade I broke my left arm and needed surgery. I also had my tonsils and adenoids removed.

[53] best friend: My friend Miranda, we’ve been best friends since elementary school c: she’s mostly working now but I usually try to get together with her if her schedule allows.

[55] vacation: I remember going to Washington DC for the first time in fifth grade for a weekend. I don’t remember a whole lot about it though. I guess my first ‘real’ vacation was the class trip I went on in eighth grade, which was also to Washington DC but it was for a whole week. Though I twisted my foot literally the day before I had to leave, so I hobbled about on crutches for the most part, and I had a wheel chair for one of the night tours. A lot of my classmates had fun pushing me around in it lol.

[56] pair of trainers: Is that like, a kind of shoe or sneaker? I’m afraid I have no clue.
