Considering a lot of us agree that Noiz is autistic, I would now like to offer this idea for a NoiCle/Noikuri au where:

Noiz’s parents, being standard autism parents™, assign Noiz an emotional support robot since they can't be bothered to properly parent him nor connect with him. He is assigned the bot at six years old but his parents lie to him and tell him they're giving him a roommate, a new live-in friend to play with instead.

The bot looks to be the same age as Noiz, and its memory logs are uploaded and stored into a new body that fits the age it's supposed to be for every birthday it shares alongside Noiz, as a means to make it seem as human as possible. For a while, it worked, until Noiz started to reach his teenage years. Then, he started to grow suspicious yet wanted to wait and see. And, sure enough, on his eighteenth birthday, he noticed Clear had somehow left the room without him noticing and sat awake waiting for him to come back. When he did, he looked different, like he aged up exactly by one year. He asked him, then, “What are you?”

Clear didn't see a reason in lying to his master, even if he wasn't programmed to be completely honest with him at all times, no matter what he said or wanted or asked. He was assigned to Noiz as a means to aid him, connect with him, take care of him, love him. But, over the course of time, he grew to go against his programming. He was programmed to love and cherish him as a friend, but now, standing in front of him, the boy he's grown up with in a sense, the one whom he's grown to love, he felt a newfound warmth in his chest, one that wasn't the usual rumble and clunk of mechanisms and processors running behind his artificial skin. He felt a budding, a blooming, a growing radiance throughout his chest module; a feeling, an emotion that went entirety against his strictly platonic programming. He wanted to hold his hand, to hug him, to hold him, to always be with him, to see the world beyond the confinement of this room with him, to run away with him. He wanted to save him. Because he loved him. So, there was no point in lying to him.

“I am an android, a man-made machine programmed with the task of being your friend.” He offered a small, saddened smile. “But, I believe a malfunction has occured..” He trailed off, looking down at the floor beneath them, at the space between them. “Because I have now grown to love you.”

Noiz remained silent. He figured as much, because sometimes when they cuddled, he heard the shifting and overturning of gears and machinery in place of a heartbeat. He figured as much, because whenever they rough-housed as kids, Clear never ran out of breath and dodged almost all of his sneak attacks with ease, which for a 6 year old is questionable to say the least. He figured as much, because whenever Noiz cried or awoke from a nightmare or injured himself, whether it be accidental or intentional, Clear was always there to heal him, to soothe him, knowing exactly what to say to calm him down, to ease him, to clear all the noises from his head when he got too overwhelmed, too afraid, almost like it was his very nature to do so. He figured as much, because when they first met at the age of 6, he had no name, no parents, and when asked he had no recollection of a family before meeting Noiz. Almost as if he just happened to appear in the possession of Noiz’s parents. He figured as much, so why? Why was he crying? He wasn't sad, he wasn't mad.. So, then, why?

“Ah– Noiz-san?! Are you okay?” Clear unconsciously took a step forward, his caretaker programming immediately activated at the sight of his master sobbing.

Suddenly, Noiz hugged him tightly, snuggling his face into the nape of his neck. “I'm happy.” He admitted, tearfully. “I've always felt so inhuman... So alien.... It hurt so much. But you've made me feel more human than anyone else. You've made me feel more than anything else. You make me feel alive.”

Clear’s information intake system faced difficulties processing the words his master was saying. Not because he didn't understand him, but because his sentences contradicted everything Clear thought about himself. He blinked. Then frowned. “How? I'm not alive, so.. How can I make you feel alive when I myself am not living?”

“You just said you love me, didn't you?”

“Y-yes...”

“You don't physically have a heart. But you can still love me. You don't have real skin, under the surface you're just a bunch of metal and wires, but you can still feel pain. You're the opposite of me. I have a living, beating heart, but I have never known nor felt love all my life. I have real skin, with flesh and blood underneath, but I've never felt pain or any other sensations throughout my entire life. You're the complete opposite of me, and I'm the complete opposite of you. I have what you want and you have what I need. I should hate you. I should envy you. But, I don't. I like you.” He then paused. “I...” He looked away and then down at his feet. He pouted, grumpily grumbling, “I love you.” He exhaled, then inhaled. Then, just above a whisper, he muttered, “Because you complete me and I complete you. Like a puzzle or something, I don't know...”

Clear’s dialogue sputtered then, himself glitching in a fit of embarrassment. “Wha–? Wha–?? Whaaaa–?!” Covering his face shyly, he subconsciously took in what the other had said. He couldn't detect a single flaw within his dialogue and it made him even more flustered and shy, yet he still managed to force out a sentence. “The... Probability of me and Noiz-san completing each other in a r-romantic sense is.... Not... Zero.”

For some reason, this made Noiz chuckle. Then, a newfound desire in the form of an impulsive thought lurched forth. “We should leave.”

“Ehh?? Leave?”

“Yeah. Together.”

What is DRAMAtical Murder?

I’m actually a little surprised to be writing this myself, in the year of our lord 2023, but why not? I didn’t know about it myself until recently, and now that it’s available with an official English translation, it’s a lot more accessible.

First of all, DRAMAtical Murder (or DMMd for short) is a visual novel that came out in 2012 in Japan. It was published by Nitro+CHIRAL, features art by Honyarara, and has some amazing music as well (the theme song is by Goatbed, with ending songs by them, Itou Kanako, VERTUEUX, and Seizi Kimura). It is a boys’ love or BL visual novel, probably the softest of the Nitro+CHIRAL titles; since its publication, it has received several additional pieces of media: a fandisk (Re:Connect), a sanitized version for the PSVita (Re:Code), and even an anime which... is certainly one way to get into it.

In 2021, Jast Blue made an official translation which was released both on Steam (censored) and their own website (uncensored). A patch is available on their website to restore the uncensored content for those who purchased it on Steam, which still allows the player to receive all the achievements. There was also a fan translation lovingly created many years ago, and the controversy over which version is better rages on. I won’t comment about it here; just know that whichever version you prefer, that is your right.

But what is DMMd about? Well... this is gonna get long, so let’s buckle in.

DMMd is set in a near-future cyberpunk setting, generally positive and colorful rather than dystopian. The story takes place on an island off the coast of Japan, Midorijima (literally “green island”), where many of the residents have been forced off the island due to the building of a gigantic sort of adult playground, Platinum Jail, where the rich and elite party like there’s no tomorrow. The remaining residents of the island live in what’s left of the city, though the owner of Platinum Jail, Tatsuo Toue, seems to be trying to grasp the remaining land as well for his own purposes.

Some of the residents have taken to forming gangs called Ribstiez, which control different parts of the Residential District. Others play a virtual game called Rhyme that takes place entirely within the players’ minds. This is facilitated through the use of Allmates, small robotic creatures that can look like anything the user desires and have multiple functions -- some manage social media, some help their owners with their daily schedules, etc.

Our protagonist is the young man known as Aoba Seragaki.

Aoba, 23 years old and single at the start of the game, works at Heibon Junk Shop. He is demonstrated to have an unusually persuasive voice when he chooses to, but -- aside from that, and his hair having sensation in it -- he seems to be an ordinary young man just trying to live a simple life. He lives with his grandmother, Tae, as his parents left Midorijima when he was young, and he has an Allmate: a small, fluffy, blue dog resembling a Japanese Spitz, named Ren.

Aoba has four potential love interests (plus a secret one whose route is unlocked as you play through the others’ routes).

First up is Koujaku.

Koujaku is an old childhood friend of Aoba’s. He had to leave the island when they were young, but came back around three years prior to the start of the story. He leads the Ribstiez gang known as Beni-Shigure and has a red sparrow Allmate named Beni. To supplement his income, he works as a wandering hairdresser and sets up on the street to cut hair. He and Aoba have a comfortable friendship that gets tested in his route.

Next, we have Clear.

Clear is a mysterious stranger who literally falls out of the sky the first time he and Aoba meet. He refers to Aoba as “Master” and refuses to take his gas mask off under any circumstances. To say any more about him would spoil literally his entire route.

Next up is Noiz:

Noiz appears first when he challenges Aoba to a match in Rhyme, insisting that Aoba is an old player of the game despite the fact that Aoba doesn’t remember ever having played Rhyme in the past. Noiz is part of a Rhyme gang known as the Ruff Rabbitz, and his Allmate is a small black-and-green cube called Usagimodoki. It’s entirely possible he has several of them, since they can be seen hanging in chains from his belt. Noiz works as an information broker to earn an income on Midorijima, but he’s not originally from there, as we learn on his route.

Finally, we have Mink.

Mink is a complicated character, as he doesn’t speak too much and when he does, it tends to be in riddles. He’s also not originally from Midorijima; while it’s not specified, his aesthetic is very much Native American. He has a pink cockatoo Allmate who is not named during the main game. Mink runs a Rib gang called Scratch made up of escaped convicts. His reasons for wanting Aoba on his side are his own, only revealed far into his route. His is the darkest of the routes, and I would say a trigger warning is in order for this one.

As for the final love interest, I won’t talk about it here. More fun to find out for yourself, right? Just remember: there’s some weird shit in this game.

Lest I forget, I must mention some other important characters. First up, Aoba’s friend Mizuki.

Mizuki runs the largest Ribstiez gang on Midorijima, Dry Juice. He’s a tattoo artist and owns a combination tattoo parlor and bar, the Black Needle.

There’s also Virus and Trip.

Virus and Trip (who are emphatically not twins) are a pair of yakuza who seem to show up a lot around Aoba. They claim to be his biggest fans.

Of course, there’s also Tae, as well as Aoba’s boss Haga (who has a robotic Allmate named Junker), Yoshie (who runs a courier service and owns a sleek dog Allmate, Clara), and a trio of young siblings who torment Aoba at his work - Mio, Nao, and Kio. In addition, one of the most corrupt cops on the island, Akushima, regularly pops up to bother the characters.

As the common route progresses, Aoba learns more about himself and his past -- and realizes he has to stop what’s happening before it’s too late. He eventually heads into Platinum Jail no matter which love interest’s route is chosen; the events that unfold change depending on which route you’re on, but playing through all of them and unlocking the secret route will finally reveal the truth of it all.

Re:Connect, as befits a fandisk, explores more with each of the love interest routes after their good endings (and also a bit more of the bad endings). It also has a route specifically to fill in Aoba’s backstory and youth. Re:Code is basically the same game, but sanitized -- all of the sex scenes were removed and given “cleaner” CGs. It did add a route for Mizuki, which involved more of Aoba’s backstory. Finally, the anime was passable, though it compressed all the love interests’ stories into an episode each and went with the secret route for the ending. It is absolutely unwatchable in dub, except for laughs and memes. Re:Connect can be found and played with the fan translation online, and is absolutely worth locating. Re:Code, unfortunately, is still only available to play on the PSVita and has not been translated at all.

Oh, and there was also a stage play! Remarkably, they produced a butai in 2019, well after the games had come out, with the different love interest routes portrayed on alternate days. I would be happy to make a post babbling about that if there’s interest. Apparently the original run did well enough that a new production was announced earlier this year, which will be happening at the end of April. A new route was added for Virus and Trip, and the whole thing is supposed to be a “supercharged” version, not just a retread of the original.

OH I FORGOT there are also drama CDs that continued all of the love interests’ stories and had even more new music, as well as some other fun things like a special drama CD for the anime release, an April Fool’s game that basically parodied Mother (Earthbound), and manga. And there’s a webtoon now. And lots of merch. And figures. Basically there’s just a lot of fun stuff to find.

And that’s DMMd! I obviously love it quite a bit, but I certainly acknowledge that it has its flaws and difficult scenes. I’d still recommend it, though. I think the writing is very well handled and the sex scenes are hot as fuck.

Okay so playing through DMMD again and -- Koujaku, right. He goes through great lengths to hide his tattoos (most of them, at least), but he's also a womanizer, not one to turn away a woman's affections, and has slept with more than his fair share. So I found myself wondering how he manages to keep his hair over his face in the middle of the act. You know, with the sweat and exertion, you'd think he'd be worried about it slipping and showing the ink beneath -- though maybe if he's leaning back and not forward, or if they're doing it from behind, then it's not so big a worry.

Course, if he strips down, the giant mural on his back is going to be pretty damned visible -- do you think he tries to keep that hidden too? I mean, it's clearly a source of grief for him, and Aoba didn't know about it. Admittedly, Aoba probably hadn't had much cause to see him naked up to that point, but still. I can imagine Koujaku working to keep his tattoos hidden, even when he's with a woman. Not one to pass over pleasure, no, but neither does he ever let himself fully indulge in it. It's always with his clothes on, a little too conscious of his appearance even in the midst of passion. And everyone knows he's vain, so while it's a little surprising and a lot disappointing for whatever partner he happens to be with that night, no one really thinks too hard about how he's always so careful of his appearance even during sex. No one knows the truth. No one gets to see all of him -- except for Aoba.

I should use this Tumblr more to write down the dumb ideas that've been sticking with me for a while, so... here we go!

Dramatical Murder (DMMD), but it's a tabletop campaign and the people who play Aoba and the main love interests have no idea what DMMD is (they can name the characters and give them personalities based on their appearance alone). The people who do know what DMMD is play the NPCs, and try to guide the main players through the plot while sticking closely to canon events as much as possible.

...With that in mind, it's going to be chaotic and practically not DMMD as a result, but I'd love to just see how it'd all go. I'm a newbie GM, I've GMed a short SPELL: The RPG one-shot, am currently running a Rings & Running Shoes short campaign, and am currently also learning to run the Jojo's Bizarre Tabletop system. The things I would do to make this dumb idea work LMAO!

(As a player, I've been playing in 2 D&D campaigns that have been going for more than a year, so also take that what you will.)

Seragaki House in the Sims 4

So i finally did it, a recreation of the house where the Seragaki family lives, with a few rooms added like the bathroom because i wanted to make it functional and it doesn't appear in the game and also the Sims proportions make it impossible to have the same inside and outside as in the dmmd game so i adapted.

I also made it on my potato pc with low res so i apologize for the quality of the screenshots:

aaaa i keep hearing lots of good stuff about Lamento but I'd have to find somewhere to download it tho I'm bad at installing games like that ,_, i did it for re:connect and it was a pain and took forever to figure out lol

i haven't played slow damage either! but i heard about the english release which is nice 👀

i only played TnC, sweet pool and dmmd .. it's funny because i never heard of any of those games before the beginning of this year :') i also prefer Sweet pool to TnC , just the whole general vibe i don't really know how to explain why tho x)

while i do love Tetsuo, Youji is alright too but for unknow reasons Zenya has stolen my heart :"))) and it's funny because i was expecting Makoto to be maybe the only "sweet" ending or something LOL it ended up being the most unhinged lmao i would have liked more than 1 ending option with Zenya and Makoto too ~

as for TnC Nano is my absolute favorite! i was also suprised with Motomi when i did his route i really fell in love with it too

oh same same same i cant rly explain what i love so much abt sweet pools overall setting and atmosphere its so quiet and kinda peaceful but also a lil ominous? it always feels like smth bad is goinf to happen, which it does. i guess...but yeah theres always that feeling of "something is happening" in the air even in ordinary scenes, and it feels kinda nostalgic..the setting..idk. i love the lgihting and stuff in it too and the muted colours hmm yes.

ill be honest i didnt like tetsuo for a rlyyy long time. i still feel he has a bit of a cardboard box personality but he has his moments, and i dont hate him or anything..youji is very close 2 me tho im very fond of him.hes liek a friend to me, idk why tho..and same!!!! zenya is ky fav char i liked him from his first appearance!!&$^@ he seemed like such an entertaining n interesting personality?#,%,# and thd mroe i got to know abt him the more itneresting hsi char got..

On Jemima Szary

As I said before, she is inspired by both Jemima Shore and Nancy Drew and these two even have the same hair colour. It's a reddish blond colour I believe, though I could be misremembering things and I am biased towards something. Well she has reddish blonde hair and blue eyes, pretty close to the western beauty ideal for women. I also don't see her as particularly buxom, having a more modest bust size though not particularly flat-chested either.

When drawing her at all, she tends to have high cheekbones and shoulder-length wavy blonde hair at that. That's really what she looks like to me, kind of close to the western beauty canon for women. I guess if somebody else were to draw her, she could end up with blonder hair. Especially if somebody else has redder hair than hers, so she wouldn't be that flame-haired compared to them. Such is the fate of both Flash Thompson and Eddie Brock in the Spider-Man stories.

Flash Thompson actually started out as having naturalistic red hair, but once Mary Jane Watson showed up with her redder hair that over time he grew blonder. In later stories he really has blond hair, this is also what befell Eddie Brock over the years. Since Jean-Louis Lumiere has redder hair than hers, even if he's not a natural redhead himself, Jemima would end up as a proper blonde at any time of the day.

It's like this colour comparison thing where a dark orange circle looks orange against a turquoise background, but brown against an orange one. This is also true for both Flash Thompson and Eddie Brock, especially since Mary Jane often has redder hair than theirs so they become straight up blond over time.

On Jean-Louis Lumiere

He's inspired by David Bowie though not to a T especially when it comes to some facets of his own life and personality, his hairstyle's the same one David Bowie wore during his Ziggy Stardust days and his wrestling leotard resembles his Woodland Creatures outfit. As I said before about him that he has redder hair than Jemima's, despite not being a natural redhead himself. When he was younger, he had blond hair. Then again David Bowie himself's not a natural redhead either, he too had blond hair before.

While Jean-Louis doesn't really manipulate fire, what he manipulates is light, the way he presents himself as a superhero-detective seems fiery enough to evoke it in some way. It's a common artistic practise for many superhero cartoonists to give redheads fire-based powers, be it Wildstorm's Lauren Pennington or Bonfire from Young Heroes in Love or something like that. Or those who're into RWBY, there's always Pyra and over at Marvel, it has Angelica Jones. So somebody who's flame-haired ought to manipulate fire.

This isn't always the case as there's this issue of Teen Titans where the character of Kid Kold has red hair, but he is a lone case of an ice-making redhead. Conversely speaking, Touhou Project has Mokou no Fujiwara, she has white-blonde hair and manipulates fire. (You could say that she's white-hot.) So it's pretty rare for a redhead to have ice based powers just as it's rare to have a white haired character manipulate fire, they don't fit our expected hair colour associations.

Jean-Louis having dyed red hair, wearing red and manipulating light toes the line in appearance alone, though there's another light-manipulating redhead around and he's The Ray. There could be another example, but if they ever exist then they're the only redheads that I can think of who manipulate light alone instead of actual fire.

Akosamesew Kanewopasikot

Jean-Louis's best friend since high school, at present he has long dreadlocked hair not unlike that of Poundmaker as well as Dramatical Murder's Mink and Saiyuki's Gatty Nenehawk. Apparently nobody has ever noticed that the other two have the same hairstyle, but one wonders if it's a coincidence or if DMMD's Mink references the latter in some way. Somebody else pointed out that although Poundmaker is Cree, he got adopted by a Blackfoot couple which explains why he looks the way he does.

Maybe I could go on saying that Akosamesew's father is Cree and his mother is Blackfoot, at least it wouldn't feel appropriative this way. He also dresses like a rivethead or somebody who's a fan of industrial music, though when he was younger he dressed in black and had shorter hair before. This is pretty reminiscent of the way Cassandra Cain is usually presented in comics, since he's pretty much based on her right down to sharing the same skill in reading body language so well. Except that when wearing a gimp mask, he got humiliated in it.

So he doesn't wear it anymore and grows his hair long ever since, he does wear his in a ponytail from time to time.

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Repetition as emphasis. Like, to an annoying degree, sometimes alskdfa. As I'm working on this current WIP, I'm leaving notes CONSTANTLY as I find all these repeated phrases or descriptions so I can go through later and change things if it's Too Much.

My character descriptions tend to be very minimal.

Also, road trips. I have...so many WIPs set on road trips. They just do something to me.

Totally! I've thought about opening them up before, but never got around to it, lmao. Now that I'm in a place where I'm able to be more consistent and uhhh diligent with writing and I've developed a routine, it's def something I want to consider more seriously.

Slight spoilers for Slow Damage

So I just drew up a Slow Damage tattoo because I need to get one, I relate way to fucking much to Towa not to. Plus I already have the Morphine logo from dmmd, gotta keep it up lol.

And omg I'm so excited. I don't draw amazingly, but I can draw decent enough to make a good torn-open vivisection scar, sutures, and sand apparently! :D

I had my heart set on one of his scars but it seemed too on the nose to do a scar tattoo. And I had the idea of the pic of him peering through a wound sutures up from interrogations- you know the one, when you find the scar and rip it open for the character to face head-on.

Anyways, I was like "ok, so I can combine that with his vivisection scar. But wtf do I put in the open tear?" I need this to look less faux pas, more individualized.

I could go hourglass, the rose emblem, but ultimately I like the idea of sand. The whole "the heart is soft like a fistful of sand" quote, and it'd be right near my actual heart anyways. Idk if I want the sand black or beige, but it'll fall thick down the center and pool a bit at the bottom on the opening, almost like an hourglass. Plus UV ink is a thing now, I can make it literally fucking glow!

I'm also gonna have sutures holding it together, probably in multiple, character-smoke-related colors: Taku with Orange, Rei with yellow, etc ya get it. OR just in Towa's suggested smoke color, that deep scarlet pink.

I'm unsure yet what I want the inside of the tear to look like yet, behind the sand, but I'll think on it some more. Probably smoke. Maybe I should make the sutures Towa's color, the sand black, and the background in rainbow-y smoke, blended together like it appears to Towa in crowded spaces?

Idk. I'm just super pumped to finally have an idea finalized lol. I don't think I can express how seen I felt as someone with severe trauma from a mother who is highly manipulative without even consciously getting she is. I feel seen for the moment I got on proper medication and saw the world with so much joy for living in each little moment again. I just feel seen in this character, and I always wanted my body to be a canvas of everything that made me crave to live when I couldn't find a reason of my own.

Feels fitting to dedicate living art to a man that dedicated his own life to making it, honestly.

It's probably gonna hurt like a bitch to get, but that also feels really fitting.

i finished listening to the takutowa drama cd! my thoughts/ig spoilers under the cut

MAN IT WAS SOOOO CUTE N WHOLESOME exactly what i expected. it was a little shorter (? maybe the madatowa one just had more tracks) but the story was sweet about how taku came to terms with himself and the clinic and towa. including some screenshots from the translation credit to yukirayu (also if anybody doesn’t want their translations reposted/screenshotted just let me know and i’ll edit it out!)

my only complaint is that i lowkey wanted it to be longer. i wish we had tracks of towa and taku just hanging around in their appt or something..like i feel like they’re just peak married couple vibes and they could’ve explored that a bit more besides the main plot

but anyways i loved it! i wanna buy the other ones now even though i’m not particularly big fans of the other ships. don’t get me wrong i like all ships there’s just certain ones that give me more brainworms than others

Drama CDs are audio cds that contain extra material for a series. Sometimes it's non-canon goofing around or canon extra stories that didn't appear in the main material. In the DMMD drama cds, there are stories of what happened after Re:Connect (good ends) and extra materials.

Unfortunately, it seems they're no longer being sold. However, you can find the audios and translations (because they're only in Japanese) right here on tumblr!

This page has them all collected nice and neat. Most of the translations are by @/shibaface, who I am immensely thankful for. You can also find translations directly on their page: here.

The DMMd Stage Plays

No one asked, but I can’t shut up about them, so I thought I’d talk a bit about these.

There’s a tradition, it seems like, of making stage plays about just about every subject imaginable in Japan. Search any anime you’re into on youtube and add “stage play”, and you will find everything. There are stage plays for Haikyuu!, Demon Slayer, SK8 the Infinity, Sailor Moon, Persona 5, Sarazanmai, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Given, Ace Attorney... that’s just off the top of my head. The productions are always creative and interestingly staged. If you’re into theater at all, I do recommend investigating.

It was a bit of a surprise, no doubt, that a stage play for DMMd ran in 2019, given that the game came out seven years prior; still, it did well enough to warrant another run, so we can’t argue with that. The production ran over a two-week period (stage plays don’t seem to be long-running; following any of the actors on social media, you’ll see they do several plays a year), and what’s particularly fascinating is that they did all of the love interest routes in that time period on alternate days.

The cast is rounded out by four dancers who added to the background in a variety of ways; Hayato Moriya also played multiple roles as a member of Bug Bomb, the person welcoming Aoba to Platinum Jail, and so on.

This was apparently not the highest-budget production out there, but they got around that with a stage resembling a generic Rhyme field onto which could be projected a variety of images, using that and lighting to make its appearance change significantly to the plot.

Unfortunately, due to (I believe) contractual issues, DVDs were not released for this production. They were livestreamed, and the final route was pro-filmed and can be rented on JP Hulu and U-Next, but that’s all we got. Sadface. However, there was a special after-show “curtain call” segment where the audience was allowed to film on their phones, resulting in a wave of clips that can be viewed here. In a couple of cases, Goatbed also performed “AI Catch” for this segment.

There was a wave of merch released for the plays, including bromides (postcard-size, collectible pictures, many of which can be found on secondary markets), a pamphlet, can badges and such. One presumes we will have another round of these with the new production.

Now the new production is coming up at the end of April 2023, and in addition to being “evolved” from the last one, a Virus/Trip route has been added. It’ll be interesting to see how this goes down, since before, it was only hinted at during the final route.

Recently and devastatingly, it was announced that Seiichiro would not be able to perform as Aoba again. While he was part of the initial lineup for this new cast, the official twitter stated that due to illness, he was being forced to step down and the role was recast with understudy Tsuchiya Naotake. I sincerely hope that Seiichiro is getting better and wish him all the best. Hopefully this is something he’ll be able to bounce back from. What’s particularly shattering is that Seiichiro has been working with Shogo on the recent run of Touken Ranbu in whatever incarnation it’s on now, so to have them not be reunited again absolutely sucks.

In other casting news, both the roles of Trip and Akushima were recast. Trip is now being played by Isono Dai, and Akushima by Makita Tetsuya. Presumably the dancers are all new as well; at the very least, I don’t recognize any of their faces, though as all the cast photos have everyone masked for safety, that makes it more of a challenge. The play is being directed by the same person as before, however.

As to whether DVD/BRs will be released this time, we can only hope that the legal issues have been worked out and we’ll get actual releases. If not, I’m sure there will at least be livestreams, though I haven’t seen anything announced yet. We will no doubt need a VPN for them at minimum; beyond that, we’ll have to wait and see.

So...can I ask what made you be so fascinated with noiz(or dmmd in general)? Is it something specific about his character?

Whew okay there's quite a few things. So as someone who is alternative (like I have a lot of piercings and dress edgy etc) I was like super into his appearance upon first impressions. However most of why I love him isn't just because he's super hot physically, his personality is what makes him even more attractive and lovable to me. I'm also on the autism spectrum (and Noiz definitely is idc if it's not canon) , and have dealt with a lot of pain in my past such as rejection from others like he has so I can relate to him pretty well. He's just himself and no one else, and he's not trying to please other people. Not to mention, his sincerity with everything is so cute to me. I could probably go on forever tbh, there's just so many things. As far as dmmd in general, one of my best friends told me about it. I've been into other yaoi in the past so it wasn't like a surprise to me that I was so drawn into it. The plot of it was really what sold it for me tho. Thank you so much for the ask! ❤️
