Something that bothers me about this fandom is when people say that we shouldn't ship Sokka and Katara with Zuko and Azula because colonizers and the Fire Nation tried to colonize the water tribes and wipe them out. Here's the thing. It wasn't just the water tribes. The Fire Nation attacked the Earth Kingdom too. They completely wiped out the air nomads as well. And yet I don't see anyone having any issue with Zukaang, Jinko or Jetko. So why is it only a problem when it's Zutara, Zukka, Azutara, and Sokkla?

Also? You do realize that by saying this, you're pretty much saying that white people and black people shouldn't be together. That pretty much anyone who is white should not be together with a person of color, because of the history of colonialism. You're saying that people of color should not look for love outside of our own race because of the history that is there. Do you know what we call that way of thinking? Racism. And I will tell you why. Because you are saying that interracial relationships are a problem and should not exist. And for someone like me, who is from the United States of America, where interracial marriage is still looked down upon in some states, and the Republicans have tried to get rid of it before? As someone who is black and indeginous, as someone who had a grandmother who was half white? I take offense to that. Because you are being racist.

I'm also going to say this, and I'm sorry if it sounds racist but it's the truth and it needs to get called out: this kind of thinking is usually by white people who see it as some kind of gotcha moment and think that they are combating racism by saying stuff like this. Man, do I have some news for you. You aren't helping anything. You are still actively a part of the problem because you are still being racist. Not to say that it's only white people, because I've seen people who aren't white say the exact same thing. And it's nonsense. Why are we condemning people who have nothing to do with what their ancestors did? By that logic, I shouldn't be best friends with a boy I met in my freshmen year of high school, who is white and from Greece. Because people who look just like him enslaved my people centuries ago, treated them like garbage, hunted us down like we were animals, etc. But guess what? That has nothing to do with him.

Lastly, people who are from different cultural backgrounds getting together should be seen as a sign of hope, a sign that we can learn to co exist with one another and live in peace with each other. It should be seen as a step forward to a better future. It should not be seen as a bad thing. If two people from different backgrounds want to be together? That's on them. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. And if it bothers you that much, that's a problem that YOU have and that you need to look at and sort out. Don't make it everyone else's problem.

a (very) belated update

hi all <3 if anyone’s still around... it’s been like a solid 4 years since i’ve returned to this blog, and i’m literally graduating high school now. to be honest, i’ve put down writing over the past few years to focus on my studies, and it pains me that my brain nowadays is more or less filled with thoughts of adult problems rather than silly scenarios about kpop idols. but!! i can’t deny that i still periodically come back to this blog and get giddy over the things i’ve written and accomplished here. this community genuinely meant (and still means) so much to me 

most of my works on this blog were (quite obviously) the amateur musings of a 14 year old. even now, i’m genuinely so surprised at the positive responses i received?? despite my abrupt exit from tumblr, i’d like to take the chance now and properly thank you all for allowing me to nurture my love for writing. it was truly life changing, and i genuinely cannot find the words to describe how much i treasure that period of my life 🥹

in terms of the future, now that i’m reaching the end of these hectic 4 years, i’m thinking maybe?? i’ll be returning; albeit this time, it’ll be on a new blog and writing for txt. no promises yet, but you’ll def know it’s me when you see the blog name hehe (spoiler: i love beomgyu)

i’m not sure if anyone will even see this message, but i really felt like i needed to properly close this chapter of my life, as well as give everyone some closure regarding this blog. again, thank you to those who read my works at the time and showed me so much love and support <’3 your short messages and panicked screaming meant the entire world to 14 year old me. i really hope i’ll be able to experience something as wonderful as this again.

eyyyyy look who finally got around to crossposting idol au’s story onto tumblr!

i reblogged MVs 1 to 3 for now just to catch this blog up to speed, at least for the mv ‘verse

as for the story itself, each post will be exactly like how it was on twitter, caption and all (tho i’ll prob merge some of the explanatory notes into another tweet or just put those notes into the tags instead)

each post is queue to be published every 2 hours, so if my math is right, this blog should be all caught up in around a month and half

that said, there’s some prose/fully-written out parts much later on that are in screenshots for the twitter thread, but i’m wondering if i should just put it in a text post for this blog... or maybe keep the screenshots for posterity / to keep it in the feel of twitter? idk yet but we’ll see

anyway, if you’re new to this au, hello! expect JD to not act completely like they do in canon because the circumstances are all different lol

we bought a new game and i want to keep playing it from the save file we started yesterday but it's a narrative game heavily dependent on choices and celeste started a wayyyy different path than the one i want to take and i don't want to mess up her save file but also i would NOT be able to keep going with her intended path >w< so we might just have to wait for her to come around again to finish it which is kinda annoying??? but what can you do~

If there is one thing that I find to be annoying about the Azula discourse, it's the fact that every time someone talks about her, some lovely individual has to come onto the post and say "yeah but we can't forget that she did bad things. Why do you guys never say this?"

And it's like, yes, we know she did bad things. Why do we have to talk about that all the time? There's more interesting aspects to her character than just the bad things that she did. I don't see people constantly bitching about all the bad things that Zuko and Iroh did. So why do we have to do that with Azula?
