➛ When he goes for walks around Pandora, he always picks the most beautiful assortment of flowers for you. Your favorite too, he remembered after hearing you talk about it during dinner.

➛ You're his protector, mostly in the beginning when he's new to Pandora. But as he becomes more comfortable you two protect one another and things become balanced.

➛ He's less afraid when he's with you, he doesn't feel the need to be someone he isn't or to succumb to what others want him to be. He's just himself with you.

➛ The courting process was so sweet, he was very intentional when it came to his tactics. If you needed something but wasn't sure how to acquire it, he'd search high and low to be able to gift you what you needed. His favorite gifts to you were handmade bracelets, he learned to weave from one of the Aranahe weavers. They taught him when he went to visit their hometree.

➛ Ri'nela is so supportive of your relationship, she saw how Teylan was alienated from her and the other Sarentu. She's glad he finally has someone who truly cares about him, and isn't just manipulating him like Mercer.

As someone who has helped people out of abusive situations, i cant stand the teylan hate. Like excuse me? Youre going to blam a CHILD for doing what hes been doing his WHOLE LIFE to stay ALIVE? Tell me your a privileged ass without telling me.

teylan is litterally mercers golden child. While the others learned that hiding stuff from mercer is how they survive, the way teylan learned to survive is by appeasement, by making sure mercers happy. of course his response to mercer being mad and trying to hurt people is to give mercer what he wants, to try and calm him down. to make the punishment less bad.

it takes a while to stop thinking of your abuser as someone with complete control over you. teylans thought process was probably along the lines of "he will find us anyway. this will make the punishment less bad" because thats probably what mercer was telling him, and abusers make it feel unexcapeable. they will find you. they will hurt you. All you can do is lessen the hit.

it took me a few months to finally get my girlfriend to understand it didnt matter if her mom was mad at her cause she was safe and her mom wasnt nearly as bad as mercer. Mercer shot the last person to leave, in front of teylan! Of course hes going to be scared and try to protect everyone the way he knows how, by lessening the blow. In his mind mercer still has the control. Its obey or die.

Aha’ri and Alma

My opinion on Alma,

Alma was very mother like and I love her, but the Sarentu were right. She wore a mask and the fact she went years pretending she hadn’t done anything to harm the Sarentu lives. She was a good teacher and is a good person but she became too desperate for what she wanted. She chose her own selfishness over the Sarentu lives. Like she said, she knew what she was doing.
