I'll never understand how did "excuse me" scene earn Adrien salt. I was laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face. Every time I hear or read or say or write "excuse me" I smile. It wasn't nice but that was so iconic I died. The same with "that's not her secret" when Luka gave zero f*cks that the girl he was on a date with is madly in love with someone else. I was crying out of laughter when I watched these two episodes. No offense to Lukanette and Adrigami shippers but I couldn't breathe at how Truth and Lies tried to be sad and serious but were some of the funniest episodes I've ever seen. Those lines were just too iconic for me not me laugh as hard as I could.

Don’t you just ♡love♡ the girl squad! You got the bold and go-getter journalist (Alya), the shy and mumbling, but sensitive and talented goth girl (Juleka), the perky ray of sunshine (Rose), the timid, but expressive activist (Mylene) and the rough and tumble tomboy who tells it like it is! (Alix). They do everything to help each other out and the community no matter what. Who wouldn’t want them as friends!?…….Marinette that’s who. Wait! WTF!? Why!?

*Gang of Secrets-The last couple of episodes didn’t do so well for me w/ Lukanette and Adrigami now 6,000 leagues under the sea, but hey! I know someone who’s feeling worse about all this. Marinette/Ladybug. That’s who! She’s become a workaholic as a super and obviously feigning happiness just so no one would worry. No ones buying it though and some one needs to talk to her about all this!

This looks like a job foooooooorrrrrrrr, Dat! Da! Da! Daaaaaa! The Girl Squad! Ever since the break-up of Lukanette, none of them, not even BFF Alya! Was aware of it until Luka told his sister, Juleka, who telephoned it to a member of the squad until it reached its leader! The squad decides to stage an intervention w/ Marinette and give her a friendship bracelet to cheer her up, but when one of them almost discovers the miracle box, Marinette lashes out at them for prying into her personal items/life and to f**k off! Ouch. Guess you could say Marinette is now, (as the Know the Truth TV commercials say is) Squadless! (echos as ZX Spectrum-like censor beeps).

This is what causes all five of them to be akumokized as Gang of Secrets! (wasn’t impressed by it as it was like The Punishers Trio 2.0 :P) Together, they try to capture Marinette and use their powers to get her to confess what the f**k is going on. The only thing I liked about the gang here was that I got intel to how they could use their powers to confront Marinette. You just gotta analyze! With The Punishers Trio, to get back at Felix for impersonating as Adrien and hurting their feelings, Lady Wifi could use her smart phone powers on him to stop him in his tracks (Pause icon), Princess Fragrance could spray him w/ her mind controlling perfume gun to admit to others what really happened and Reflekta could trap him in her form until he submitted to their every word. Here, as the gang, Lady Wifi and Princess Fragrance could use their fore mentioned powers on Marinette, only Princess Fragrance could get help from Reflekta to clone her victims as an army for their evil team. With Timebreaker, she could turn back time to before their friendship was broken and fix it and Horrificator would be the enforcer to not let any one get in the way of their goals! Just to be clear, I only like their name and powers combined in all this not their look cuz it’s Bleh! >XP.

Confession time! I was spoiled by this ep too! Yeah, much like the first two, I saw it commin’. I mean, we did see the promo for “Gang of Secrets”, so “big shocker” there for us! Much like The Punishers Trio, it was just the squad in their signature akumatized forms w/ a group name! Lame! Why couldn’t it have been more like “Oblivio” or “Heart Hunter” where Alya and Nino were akumatized together as an ambiguously gendered villain and Mayor Bourgeois and Audrey as a giant two-faced ugly head! Respectively. If I were to have them get a real look, I’d make them all in color coded spy cat-like suits (like the beads in the friendship bracelet that represented each of them) w/ helmets covering either their eyes or mouths (which ever one is more fitting for their secretive/truth exposing theme) and act as a parody of the “Power Rangers”! Now that’s Gang of Secrets! Poor Marinette. She’s heartbroken after realizing her relationship w/ Luka didn’t work out due to her double life, as well as being the new guardian, and how it would do the same w/ Adrien if it were to happen, so she’s forever alone :(. Not only in her love life, but her social life too. She learned the hard way that distancing yourself from your friends and family to spare their feelings and disappointment is not the way to work your superhero life. It just makes it worse. Another spoiler I “accidentally” came upon was the big reveal that Marinette told Alya she was Ladybug! Whoa! “Bomb” number trois! NOW SHE KNOWS! EVERYTHING! The missing high school history textbook (“The Pharaoh”), the overly long “conversation w/ the parents” (“Prime Queen”), the gift of the fox miraculous (“Sapotis”), the truth about how Marinette found out Lila’s a liar (“Chameleon”) and all those other times she had to make “weird excuses” to mysteriously disappear! It all flashed before Alyas very eyes! This season should be goin’ well w/ this now out in the open. Also, Kudos to Alya for being the first to break outta her akumatization! Bravo! Girl! Bravo!

How I feel about this character:

He's just surrounded by terrible people and instead of being terrible himself Adrien hangs onto what little positivity he can with all his might and I just- 😢😭 I LOVE HIM, OKAY!? Adrien is pure sunshine. F*** you, fight me.

He's also a petty drama queen and I love him for it.

Ships:

Marinette, Ladybug aaand... You get the idea. Love Square! They're very supportive of each other (on all sides of the mask) and that's before they're even a couple!

Kagami. She's badass and Adrien likes badass women. She also respects Adrien's decisions which you cannot say about everyone in his life.

Alyadrininette. Adrien deserves all the love he can get.

Adrino. I mean, just look at them! They're adorable!

Lukadrien but only if it meets my highly specific requirements.

Non-romantic OTP:

Are you allowed to do both? Eh, ADRINO! I ship them platonically a lot more than I do romantically.

Adrigami. Tell me Adrien and Kagami wouldn't be friends. Go on... LIES! Of course they'd be friends!

Adrinogami! I want Nino and Kagami interactions. I want platonic OT3.

Unpopular opinion:

Adrien did nothing wrong in Syren.

Adrien is allowed to open up to his friend (who has repeatedly denied having any romantic feelings towards him) about his crush.

Adrien isn't "Friend Zoning" anyone. It's called "having friends".

Reflekdoll was Out of Character and I will die on that hill.

Lila is NOT Adrien's fault.

What I wish had/will happen:

Ooh, lots of things! But if I were to pick one... Not being satisfied with a single conversation with the Guardian. Not taking the Guardian at his word that "it's better this way". Not letting the Guardian treat him the way Gabriel treats him. Adrien deserves better.

Kagami

How I feel about this character:

She could kick your ass. Bisexual icon. Is unflinchingly honest, love that. Saw a boy she liked and went after him like a boss. She protecc, she attacc, she don't hold bacc.

Ships:

Adrigami is a great ship. Y'all are just mean. How can you resist two rich jocks being adorably awkward together!?

Lukadrigaminette. OT4 or nada.

Non-romantic OTP:

Adrigami. See above.^

Marinette. They could be amazing friends.

Nino. She barged into the Adrien Protection Squad meeting one day and never left.

Adrinogami. I just want platonic OT3 shenanigans.

Unpopular Opinion:

Kagami did nothing wrong in Animaestro.

Kagami did nothing wrong in Frozer.

Kagami has done nothing to warrant the level of aggression against her. Both in-universe and out.

She's bisexual.

What I wish had/will happen:

Better writing, no boy drama (at least, not with Marinette), being akumatized for something besides jEalOusY. But, really...

I don't want Adrien to break up with her because he's in love with Marinette. I don't want them to break up because they're "not compatible". I don't want their entire relationship to just be so Adrien can run off to Marinette. I want it to be mutual. I want it to be for one of the thousands of reasons teenagers decide "let's go back to being friends". I DEFINITELY don't want it to be "because Adrien is still in love with Ladybug".

Is it just me or did it feel like they put actual work into Kagami/Adrigami as opposed to Luka/Lukanette? Kagami seems so much more tied into the plot from the start, there's so much more depth to her in comparison, and it wasn't horribly, awkwardly one-sided like Lukanette? It didn't feel like Adrien was settling for Kagami the same way it felt like Marinette was settling for Luka. It was clear as day to everyone, EVEN LUKA, that she would ditch him for Adrien in a minute meanwhile Adrien actually, idk, gave Kagami a real chance? Lukanette felt sad and doomed to fail in a way that Adrigami didn't. Anyway Kagami gets to be cool and have a lot of focus episodes, but we complained too much about Luka not doing anything besides Music (love him for that though. Iconic) so they're punishing us by sending him to Brazil to train as a Guardian, in a true curveball that I am...still trying to wrap my brain around tbh

as the local S3 lover i have a special spot in my heart for the adrigami and lukanette eps as much as i recognize how useless the love rival plot was as a whole . adrigami was set up v early on in S3 (animaestro, backwarder) as a way to make kagami seem like a threat, whereas at best luka was a cover for adrien to backtrack on any possible development he could've had w/marinette, backed up by determination confirming he started seeing her as a romantic prospect shortly after the puppetteer 2. at the end of the day the rival ships existed to stall the love square and we all know that - they ONLY worked out when marinette / adrien were there to see it, and not even since lukanette got silencer as an adrien-free episode, but whenever adrigami got a moment alone there was something WRONG everytime .

kagami definitely has more plot relevance overrall but it can also be argued it stems from how from S2 to S3 she was treated as an OBSTACLE and that her turning to ship the square is CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT on her part, as opposed to luka who was cool with it from the start . as much as i love her kagami is a deeply inconsistent character and so was adrigami as a pairing bc the dynamic changed based on the context and purpose of the episode, in true S3 fashion . i agree with everything you said but it's not exactly correct to say they had better build up when it wasn't to give the pairing any validity, rather to present it as another hardship for marinette to confront.
