okay modern au treech 🤩 channelling the four (4) modern au fics i have (even tho two are unreleased, leave me be 😭)

okay so starting w the foundations even if the au isn't based in britain, he has a thick english accent (never erasing hiroki's Londoner voice) but the reason's for it can get more and more ridiculous.

one of his favourite celebrities is english, so he's picked up the accent to be more like them. growing up his mom used to only put on english cartoons so he came into school the first day saying shit like "good morning fellas" and got Bullied so bad.

really close friends with lucy gray!!! (even tho most of the hc's come from the lucy gray/treemina fic im not gonna base the relationships on it or else i'll Rant abt coralbalism) i see their personalities as very similar, specifically their love for performing and such

hi! for the past month i’ve been seeing people say BEN is a child and i think that part of it is linked to the fact that they think of Benjamin Lawman being BEN? but it’s so annoying to read these type of stuff because i understand not everyone read the whole arg story but stop spreading things that aren’t true </3 it’s such an interesting story too! another note do you prefer BEN’s canon or fanon design? :3 i love both but his canon design is so nostalgic i can’t let it go at all omg!! i’ve also been wondering, do you think Ben’s avatar was the statue? i was thinking about what if BEN took over it early on, before Benjamin did making BEN inhabiting it since the start?

Ok this is going under a cut becus . . . Its ben and BEN and if u didnt know i am Obnoxious about these two. Im gonna try to keep it organized a bit, so ill talk about the canon stuff first and then ill talk my personal headcanons and my fic so le's go!

In terms of the age and child thing, yeah i 100% believe you are correct. Ive been p open on my stance with the whole "is ben a child?" thing, and i think a lot of the heat with it comes down to current fandom purity culture and the pro/anti thing. So, lemme try to like. Boil down a complicated situation into smth easy to read. ahem

Ben Lawman and BEN are completely different entities guys, and for those that do not know the arg story, the Ben you know is not human nor a child.

You know BEN, BEN is the one in the story who terrorizes jadusable and spreads himself on the internet as a virus. That BEN is a program, a mess of code, an AI, however you want to interpret it. Personally i interpret it as a series of protocols running in a machine, like a self learning AI, but ive seen lots of cool interpretations of BEN. So . . . What does BEN specifically? Its an anagram for the Behavioral Event Network. If you dont wanna call it BEN cuz it gets confusing with actual kid Ben, do what i do. I call mine Evie :) ive seen some call it Netty, my bf calls his two izzi and clever (@benilos btw hes also got crazy ben stuff). Just go ham! Have fun! Remember when fandoms were about having fun and not accusing each other of pedo shit and call each other horrible things for just writing black-to-grey characters and stories??

Anyways ive gone off in enough peoples tags like this, for those that dont know the canon dont be spouting the age discourse. You look stupid as hell. And for those that are gonna spout it, please dont cherry pick through the canon. Use both characters, use the other moon children, actually please do because I want more rosa content so bad, im down so bad :'(

Or just. Heres a thought. If someone has him as an adult or writes him in adult situations, maybe dont assume that they interpret him as a kid and call the writer a pedo? (Literally has happened to me, yall are fucking weird)

Yes i use more of the canon design and heavily use the canon story, i participated in arc 3 of the arg and it left deep grooves in my brain, i can never go back to fanon Ben. I say, as i put a more fanon appearance on my Ben 🤭

My Evie is full canon design, green hair, red eyes, creepy ass grin. I actually based it very heavily on my desktop wallpaper, which we actually figured out was a picture of @hauntedtotem (also amazing ben artist plz check them out) that they edited and posted. Sorry friend, it looked way too cool, ig youre in my fic canon now 🙇

And my Ben Lawman bleaches his hair and goes from the canon Ben to fanon Ben because of it. Hes got the pale pretty green eyes and glasses and hes a total nerd and i smooch him on the daily so he knows hes loved ♡

As for bens situation in the actual arg, yes i do think he was in the elegy statue, we actually do see him for the first time in the arg buried in the games code and trapped in that statue. I do think he was in there from the beginning, i personally think BEN was not limited to the models it could inhabit. Personally i would place it as skull kid and hms, but it also feels disingenuous to me to say it was in one model the whole first arc.

The arg events do happen in my canon, before my fic (like right before, it picks up after the arg left off technically), but the events are skewed a bit because i had a hard time deciphering what happened and i wanted my fic timeline to fit more with the characters i had made. Cuz my evie isnt as chaotic evil as canon BEN, its very logical and has a path of logic and reason you can follow for every action it does. It was also originally meant to be very pleasant and corteous and beneficial to the people it housed so, yes its pretty different from canon.

Ill do a quick run through of the arg events in my personal headcanon and fic here.

Kelbris starts coding BEN (Evie) for the Eternity Project. Initially, Evie was meant to be an afterlife director. People that died would be digitized into code that would be moved into Evie's servers, where it would keep them happy and occupied as the Behavioral Event Network (notice and log behavior, create events for residents). Like a community organizer kind of, think the Good Place.

While Evie is in development, Ben Rosa and Matt are friends and have yet to join the cult. Rosa and Matt are siblings, and Ben is the kid who lives catty corner on the street. They walk to school together and play at recess and all that jazz.

Kelbris quickly learns that the Eternity Project isn't as goody two-shoes as he thought. This was in like, the 90s, before digital corporations were really established. After seeing the greed and corruption in the company, he goes rogue, takes the source code for Evie, and jumps ship. He keeps working on Evie at home, anthropomorphizing it and kind of seeing it like the son he never had. This is where it actually gets the name BEN, as thats what Kel calls it. He also begins working on a body for it, so it can live independently. Its light, cuz Kels old, made of crystalline structures and hollow steel beams. A hard light projection would make its appearance.

Since Kel has basically locked himself up in his house and isolated working on Evie, he goes a leetle bit crazy. He has hallucinations of his deceased wife (you know he was doing all this just to give her a good home, you KNOW IT) and eventually starts writing kind of poetry, kind of none-minded rambles about her in a forum online. He gets a following, some of which that interpret these divine words as a goddess, one Kel has called Luna. The Moon Children start to form as Evie finishes development.

Matt sees this literature and starts talking about how this Goddess could save them like it saved the man online, whos username is only Father. He gets sucked into the cult and drags Ben and Rosa with him. Ben doesn't see the harm and joins pretty easily with his best friend, but Rosa is the older sibling and sees the red flags and is more resistant to joining.

As Kelbris finishes Evie, he wakes it up for the first time and says hello to the son he made from scratch. Evie is bright, curious and naive like a child, but heavily knowledgeable about its protocols and the information it knows about the world. Kelbris tests its function by killing himself, and ascends into the code, finishing off the hardware by becoming its firewall. Evie is alone for many years.

The abuse Ben's father slings onto his mother is slowly being directed towards him as he gets older. Ben is not the "good little girl" his father sees him as, and his mother does all she can to protect them both. Matt and Rosa constantly refuge him, and Matt specifically is constantly being a guard dog for him. If he wasn't just 13, he'd probably go at Ben's dad himself.

Because of his homelife and the conflict he has with himself, Ben takes the first ascension. He thinks when he drowns himself, he will meet Luna and she will give him another life free of pain and fear and full of happiness and freedom. Instead, he dies a cold, dark death, and wakes up in the white endless void of the Event Network.

Evie has not known another living human since Kelbris, but it does know its protocols to support and keep the deceased happy. It makes fast friends with Ben, devoting itself to him. Ben actually finally takes the name "Ben" from it. Together they recreate the inside of Evie's hivemind into their own paradise.

Slowly the other Moon Children ascend. First Matt, wracked with guilt for what happened to Ben. Then Nekko, from a different branch of the cult. These three figured out that the Moon Children cult was all a farce, and that what Kelbris had started, the Eternity Project had found and twisted. Next to ascend was Dusk, then Insidiae, and finally Rosa.

This all leads into the first arc, shortly after Rosa ascended, Evie in the outisde world stumbled upon the Operator. The Operator attacks it and seals its coding into the game that it carried, a personal item of Ben's. The game eventually finds it's way to a garage sale, and Alex picks it up.

Evie does not like Alex. Matt does not like Evie. Matt gets Evie to lash out at Alex for prodding into its code, its too naive to think that Matt would want to see it or any of them hurt. When Alex stumbles upon the Father, he awakens and swallows Alex down into the game. After his disappearance, the game gets picked up and passed around again.

Because of Alex's actions, at least Evie can now branch out a bit from the game. Though it doesnt "escape" into the internet, it learns that it can now access it and uses that freedom to try and steer the game around into places it wants.

Matt gets fed up with Evie. The fact that its the leader, how close it is with Ben, he just doesn't agree with it. So much so, in fact, that he tries to kill it. Cue arc 3 events, Sarah picks up the game in the aftermath of this. Evie is traumatized from the events and snaps a bit, locks everyone down into code or immovable models and tries to hunt Matt down. It goes rouge, and because of this, the Father wakes up.

Sarah's actions in arc 3 eventually hard reset the game. Matt gets sealed away, the Father also takes Sarah, and Evie gets reset as well, though its less like a clean slate and more like snapping back awake. Its personality changes and it has major trust issues. Its more muted, hyper observant of everything around it, and murderously overprotective of the Moon Children it keeps within itself.

And this leads into my fic 🤗

for starts yes i AM working on it, i actually started recently and it’s so much easier writing for girls since i have more fun so i feel it maaayyyyyyy get done quicker. but i also want to come on and say that yes, while i will be posting it to tumblr, i think i might make it on wattpad too. its only because i feel like it might be easier for people to read if they read it on wattpad to just scroll and also people usually read series on wattpad and come to tumblr if they wanna read oneshots (beside like oneshot books). and also i like how i can just brainstorm it all together on wattpad and make it look all pretty so… anyways with my AMAZING graphic design skills lemme start showing sneak peaks 😒😒

you can see a little peak of the cover 🤭 BAHAHAHAH but yeah this is what i have going on so far. im also an extreme perfectionist and because i made the wattpad cover start with the capitalization i refuse to not make the titles or writing be lowercase.

ANYWAYS! to start, i usually write gwen with spider gwen in mind so her age is usually between 16-18 in my stuff with the acception of the fics i do that specifically link to spiderverse but she usually is her comic 17-18 version. but for the plot i am gonna take HEAVY inspiration from one of the gwenom comics but its also gonna be based on the comic where she is starting college but when the plot starts she’s already been like a student maybe like a year in.

and secondly….this will NOT be the gwen we know and love or should i say the gwen YALL know and love. i kinda want to mess with her characterization to make it interesting like yes gwen is gonna be the awkward but nice girl but also like because i want this au version of earth 65 to be a little melancholy or dark vibes to it she WILL be a bit of an asshole at times, real cocky, and so on- like it’s gonna be so fun UGH!!

thirdly, im not sure if there is gonna be downright smut in this. like again, ik i have written “suggestive” content like my makeouts because i don’t necessarily write for strictly spiderverse gwen but just a whole amalgamation of it and its always based on comics so she’s like 17-18. i’m bringing this up because if you read carmilla- CMON NOW😭😭😭 there will be the suggestive scenes but idk if imma do it because while this will be the college version of gwen from the comics around 18-19 like i never wrote stuff like that and also don’t wanna perpetuate or feed content to the predator gwen fans on ANY platform. not like carmilla is heavy in sex i just wanna preface that because it’s always weird when people utilize au from something heavily sexual so it implies that the content WILL be sexual and not that that’s wrong in this case i just wanna let yall know you can expect content but not THAT content.

LASTLY the plot is lowkey short like i haven’t fleshed it out yet because i haven’t been having fun on tumblr when i write for guys so i wanna have fun with this and take my time writing the chapters before even releasing them so i don’t worry about dates for theme. but it won’t be like an intense lead rn it’s looking like MAYBE 15 chapters? possibly 20. i want a good balance of plot heavy and also gwen content in it that is sub plots to intensify the main plot (someone break me out of ap lang im gnawing at the enclosure) but i’m still working on it.

so yeah this is just little teasers for now and y’all can tell me what you think. im making little notes and stuff and im gonna woke on the plot and then just get straight to writing so i can just post a chapter weekly until we at the end so it gives me time to sprinkle other stuff in as well. i been over astv and just wanna write for my favorite women so this is me taking my stand on business 😒

i literally adore asks like this because i have so many aus and stories but when people tell me a list of their favorites im like ooooh ok i think i can see the sort of dynamic you like the most (at least in my writing) based on the things most of these aus have in common for example most of these feature a gruff, rough around the edges obi-wan --probably tattooed-- coupled with an earnest, pretty boy anakin who obi-wan is a tad unreasonable about. one of them is really into their age difference and the potential power dynamics there. it's probably anakin, but obi-wan is gonna get a lot of pleasure out of it too

'and your ex was their roommate' is a fic ive been writing on and off since june 😭. i actually opened the doc up again recently and was taken aback bc it’s semi-autobiographical 💀 BUT NOT RLLY!! but anyways it’s an eddie munson x reader fic. basically it’s a modern au and takes place in san francisco. eddie and reader had a bit of a situationship that didnt end well. reader is besties w steve and robin and shes helping them move into their new apartment and Gasp!! their third roommate is Eddie!!!! he's kind of an asshole in this one unfortunately,,, but im hoping that somehow I can redeem him LMFAO.

He begins strumming, lightly. Not enough to make actual noise, but just enough to create a lulling white noise that calms you. The chords sound familiar.  “I never gave you permission to play my guitar.”  “Just shut up and go to sleep.”  The question pounds your head, or that might just be the sickness. Still, the loopy feeling the cough syrup gave you is enough to loosen your chapped lips.  “Why are you being so nice to me?” The question comes out murmured and far more vulnerable than you would’ve liked. Your eyes are closed, so you can’t gauge Eddie’s reaction. No doubt, he’s coming up with a snarky remark. 

the one im most excited about is ‘labyrinth’!! it's a javy machado x reader fic and it's a big departure frm ANYTHING i've ever written before. the reader is jake's widow and her and javy help each other navigate their grief n then they fall in loveee. it's angsty and filled with guilt and hope and it's been so fun to write so far.

You’ve missed this, you realize. There are a lot of things that you miss about Jake, specifically. But this: the simple act of being close to someone. The simple choice to be there for someone else to lean on. Joy and guilt are like lightning and thunder. When one comes the other will soon follow.  You think about this from the outside looking in. Javy coming home, kissing your cheek, telling you about his day. Him cooking dinner while you do laundry. You doing the dishes while he does the crossword. The two of you, lying down on the couch after a long day and watching television together. The scene is exceedingly domestic in a way that makes your cheeks tingle and your chest ache. Your left thumb instinctually goes to caress the base of your ring finger, only to come up empty. Your heart drops to your stomach. Then, you remember. You always take off your rings when doing the dishes. It was best practice, to make sure that the delicate gems wouldn’t get unnecessarily tarnished. You’d never once forgotten to put them back on, though.  You linger on the absence of the rings and the presence of the man sleeping soundly right beside you. Joy and guilt. Lightning and thunder.

OKAY LETS GET STARTED

1. dear, hello, salutations, love, sincerely, from, goodbye (8.99999/10). Im lowkey obsessed with this fic????

Like obviously it’s based off of my favourite movie of all time (DONT GET ME STARTED ON TO ALL THE BOYS-) and it also gives me the chance to explore Caitlyn and Vi’s relationships with their parents. Handling Vi’s grief AND being able to research lacrosse (I’ve been watching gameplay for the upcoming chapter lmao), something I’d never do if it wasn’t for this fic, has just been so fun. I still worry about my characterization of Cait and Vi, but I feel like I’m doing a pretty solid job right now. Also this is officially my longest fic to date and I’m glad I’m getting more and more comfortable with descriptions and getting better at pacing. The slow burn is kind of hitting I can’t lie, they’re so in love it hurts!!!! I’ve also been loving writing Caitlyn’s friendships! I’m SO GLAD I decided to write in Kai’Sa I’m obsessed with her. Jayce appearances have been few and far between, but they’ve been quite nice. I’m super excited to have this fic be finished and to get all of my ideas out!! More of Vi’s family dynamic is coming soon 🤭🤭🤭. ALSO, more scenes from the movie and even the book will be included I’m so excited lemme stop yapping!!!!

2. play stupid games, win gay prizes (8.8/10). SO FUN I CANT

This was my first beta read fic and also just one of my favourite fics of mine in general. It is genuinely so fun. I wish I added more festival/pride month vibes, but Caitlyn and Vi annoying each other did it enough I think LOL. That vibe of them just being the biggest nuisances to each other unfortunately didn’t last super long in the show so exploring it in this fic was exciting! The make out scene most definitely hit………. Like come on they’re soooo obsessed with each other it’s embarrassing. The bingo scene was most definitely iconic!!! The twister scene was too! It was just an entire bundle of fun no one gets it. Maybe I’ll post my notes for this fic. Part two…… is in the works…. Expect it by spring maybe?????

3. fix my galentine (7.5/10). Cutie patooties 🤭

I’m sorry but the whole “lemme just break something in my house so hot lady comes over to fix it” just kind of hits to me???? Like Caitlyn was so disastrously down bad it was the cutest thing ever. The reveal of what Mel (the greatest wing woman of all time) asked Vi was just so fun as well. There was no angst or anything in this one, it was just cute valentine vibes and flowers and love and all of those gross stuff so it was great to get out and enjoy. LET THE GIRLS BE HAPPY! I also thought a lot about Caitlyn’s job in this, weirdly. She was Hextech’s lawyer and something about that is just so fun to me lol. Was also thinking about a scene where some pipe bursts in the company building and Vi’s called to fix it and everyone is drooling over Vi but Vi’s just waiting for her job to be done to see Cait in her office and in a suit 🤭. First person was definitely a choice but I don’t think it hurt the fic all too much. ANYWAY, super cute and super fun.

4. who tf is this girl (6.5/10). Anniversaire 🤞🏾

Honestly nothing too interesting. A short little one shot to pair with the first ever fic I wrote and posted on ao3. It was just a fun little thing. I don’t know if Caitlyn would really be a jealous person…. Protective, most definitely, but jealous just doesn’t fit her too much in my opinion. It was nice little thing tho that I still enjoyed writing and finishing. I think I could see a lot of my improvement from the og fic to my this one. I just love their established relationship shenanigans idk let them be a normal couple fr.

5. hunting prize (6/10). Ooooo suffering.

SORRY THIS IS LAST LMAO. This fic was lowkey just exhausting to get through lol. It most definitely is not the worst thing in the world, but I’m starting to realize how draining it is to just write constant suffering. It’s still technically incomplete lmao. The last chapter is supposed to be about a year or more later. Caitlyn wipes out the enforcers and brings in the Wardens and then asks Vi to be the Undercity lead for them as they dance at a ball for the official announcement. I appreciate everyone who stuck with this fic because it took soooo long to actually finish. Whump is just really not my thing lol. I have yet to truly do the canon verse any justice in one of my fics but next year I’m locking in, I swear.

This year has been so great for my fics and everything, so a massive thanks again for all of you friends :))))

I've been trying out some writing myself, so I'd just love to hear your opinions about the more technique related things.

It's hard to kind of guess how long I want a scene or chapter to be. I'm normally a true plotter (me is perfectionist to the max), but I've noticed it makes writing the actual scenes and chapters kind of boring and predictable🥲

How do you go about it? Do you have an ideal word count per chapter? Pantser or plotter? Tell me about your insides (that sounds off, but alright😆)

IM SO HAPPY you're trying writing omg!! that's so exciting and I cant wait to see what you put out!!

I totally understand the feeling tho! For myself I find I Know exactly how I want things to go, I know how I want conversations to flow and where it should end up, I can write it all out, mark out each scene complete conversations and convey the emotion I want but describing scenery and scene setting is just where I absolutely lack, and that's where kitty comes in to fic up all my issues (lemme show you)

sometimes when I write alone- i still leave these notes for myself, I may not have the words to describe what I want in a scene right away but I know the base outline of it, so by leaving those notes I can come back in and fic everything up.

take the time to do so- kitty and I used to update DAILY and it got hard, we burnt out really quickly and these days were taking our time to REALLY think over chapters, plot them out. (which I know a lot of people like our writing because were laid back in it and make it easy to read but anyone seeing this I promise were still doing that we just wanna make sure were not burning out again)

We never really have an ideal word count we just write and write and let it come to! I'd post chapters with 500 words if I really felt like it- don't limit yourself but also don't think too hard on whats right. just write and do what feels good to you!

i do! i almost always have music playing in the background, regardless of what i'm doing, whether it's writing, cooking, psyching myself up for a run etc. my most recently published fic was about rin and haru (coughs) exploring the use of a cock ring (that was eventually forgotten about midway through the fic, woops) and the song i had on loop was freak by lana del rey.

this is tough lmao i am truly my biggest critic. but if i really have to... i believe some of my past works helped a lot of people in my old fandom; people who were struggling with identity and childhood trauma and making sense of their pain. i used to write from a place of pain and the desire to make sure no one ever felt as alone in their suffering as i used to. i'm glad to say a lot of the people who commented shared that my writing used to take them out of their dark place and even help some build the courage to seek the help they needed. i realised then how powerful writing can be.

i usually tag my fics pretty.. um, literally? like, i tag them as accurately as possible based on whatever content is in the actual fic. but i like those random tags writers have come up with that reflect the author's view on the fic, e.g. author regrets nothing. i used that tag for the recent nsfw fic i published because, yes, as filthy as the whole fic is, i regretted nothing. had to get it out of my system somehow!

hello Fox~ it was nice knowing that you're doing well!! And i hope you would be able to nap around this day too :D

And yesterday I wasn't able to sleep since I was still up till 5 am+ and then every friday we have classes early at 7 am so I just chose to get through the day— making my mind very hazy like a jellyfish 😅 but i'm alright now dw. I have gotten to sleep nicely and recover already.

Xiao might find your no-respect-to-the-adepti personality quite confusing to him at first, because it was like a rule throughout the years to respect the adepti and gods alike. I am unsure if he knows Keqing or if he has a voiceline about her, but his thoughts might drift towards the Yuheng of the Qixing's beliefs while also trying to understand your own beliefs. He might come into a conclusion that not all mortals do have respect for it, especially people who gets to become close to him. But that's a new one for him, as long as you don't do any trouble it might be just fine~

Honestly i think the mom friend energy is def a good thing- not unless you don't care for yourself the same 😤 and *cough* aha,,, about my assignments— i have managed to pass one yesterday?? Which i'm already very happy about because it's one of the easiest so far tho it took me hours because i really think my mental state can't be pushed more at this point 😅 and i don't really feel bothered 😌 i swear im trying my best 😩 i have also visited my psychiatrist today for our second meeting and i'm finally diagnosed with the actual problem 🤩 this is one step towards improving my mental health + getting my life together again 😤 I have to thank you too for being one of my emotional support people 💗

And YES. I also don't know that there's actually mbti assignment stuff for the genshin characters. The site where you could find it is in the personality database website. There are also debates in the comment section of characters such as Lisa's because they are pretty unsure about what her mbti actually is. Also, i don't mind sharing too 😚 it's totally okay! My mbti is INTP, and you're never wrong with that introvert part. Life is hard when groupmates aren't working 😩
