I'm back on the Ace of Cups. I've switched to Adobe Illustrator for the project. I'm also revising the anatomy of the skeletons. A manufacturer reached out. I'm getting a quote on production, so I will be posting a pole eventually (after the drawings are all done) on some different choices in production. Here's the previous versions in reverse chronological order so you can see how the design has changed since the first draft. The new design was done in Adobe Illustrator. Everything below was done in Photoshop. I use Adobe Creative Cloud. The newest version has changed dimensions slightly. The standard size for tarot cards is 70mm x 120mm. I had to make the newest version slightly wider. I will be redoing all the currently existing designs in this series in Illustrator. All the new designs will start in Illustrator.

When I first started I was sort of just throwing things at the designs to see what stuck. In the end, I decided on a sunrise to sunset recurring theme for the background. The ace is sunrise, and card 5 is sunset. Cards 6-10 repeat another sunrise sunset cycle. I'm not sure what I'll do when I get to the Page. I originally had stars on every design. After deciding only cards 5 and 10 are night scenes, the stars on the rest of the cards had to go. I'm using a radial sunbeam look with the daylight designs and a horizontal fade with the moon cards. I'll be hand inking all of these in the end, so these lines are guides for the hand drawn hatching and lines I plan to add.

It talks about a head – heart tussle, this is where your head (logical thinking) is saying one thing, and your heart (emotional thinking) is saying something else, and you are confused as to what to do. The two is therefore suggesting you follow your head and logical thinking this time.

Three of Cups

The three is a fantastic card to see on the first day of the new month. It is a card denoting positive energy, and outcomes. It shows a celebration and the possibility of a gathering with the people that you care the most about. It says reach out and seek company, go out, have fun, let your hair down and enjoy being with other people.

Thursday 2nd November

Ace of cups

This Ace is asking that you embrace new beginnings, it is a positive and generally life enhancing card. It is saying go for it in matters of love and relationships. It is a card of emotional growth and spiritual awakening and says trust what you feel inside, because your gut feelings and hunches will be strong today and can be trusted.

Friday 3rd November

Judgement

Don’t be too quick to judge someone or something today, instead take a step back and re-look at the situation. Be sure of your facts before you make your decision. Judgement is about being fair, and doing what is right. It asks you to be honest in all your dealings, it says be patient and wise. In situations that are out of balance try and restore it

Saturday 4th November

The Queen of Wands

This Queen has a great imagination, is wise and creative and is asking that you try and follow in her footsteps today. She says open your eyes, ears and mind and allow your imagination to flow. Finally biting the bullet and starting the work to create my own tarot deck. Here's the digital sketch for my Ace of Cups. Follow along as I go through all 72 cards from digital sketch to finished ink drawing. Ultimately, my plan is to release a full deck that you can play through or use for cartomancy. Every once in a while, I forget to sparkle. I know that I can't sparkle on every day, but it's a mindset that has helped me to see myself and the world around me in a new light. In order to sparkle today, I have to begin a journey with my heart, journeying forward with intent and passion and with focus. I need to remember that it's okay to have fun and embrace my spirit. Going forwards, I need to remember thar it's okay to walk in the shadows sometimes, but I can't spend all of my time there.
