The alt text feature exists for you to write descriptions of a photo for blind and otherwise visually disabled people. It is not there as a super secret hilarious place to hide memes or troll your audience. Alt text is an accessibility feature that enables disabled people to gain access to images and screenshots, and using it as a weird hidden way to Rick roll people is not funny. It misleads people who can’t see the actual image and makes it impossible for us to know what the image actually is. Please research what the purpose of alt text actually is before using it for shit it isn’t there for.

So I got that xkit extension that puts the alt text below images, and while on the one hand it's great for knowing if alt text has been included with a post, it's also lead to me noticing a really big problem: incomplete IDs, especially of tweets.

More often than not, when I see a screenshot of a retweet or a tweet with a photo attached, the alt text only describes the text of the main tweet and not what it's retweeting or the picture accompanying it. And I just have to wonder, genuinely, why? This is not, in any way, by any measure, accessible. If a picture was included in a post, it needs to be described. If a tweet is a retweet or reply to something else, the original tweet needs to be described. This is not an optional part of the description process, this is the bare minimum.

Please share this around, I'm so tired of seeing half-described images floating around the place and I'm not even someone who needs image descriptions, I can't imagine how frustrated people who do need them are

Oh look, I say, reaching the dark box. I guess there's something in that dark box. I can see purple. Whomst the fuck knows what the purple says, certainly not I, with dyslexia and severe corrective lenses in my glasses.

Ik screenshots of tags are the Tumblr Standard, but if they aren't accessible, just forget it. I'm not straining my eyes to read something innocuous, incomprehensible, irrelevant, or, very occasionally, a good joke.

truly videogames are such a good medium for stories where Something Is Wrong With Time... every game with a saving mechanic has a time travel function, be it acknowledged in universe or not. games can give you the option to experience pieces of story in a non-linear fashion or skip them entirely. time and timing is no longer bound to the confines of a movie's runtime or pages of a book...!

Morrowind = 5,071 pages

Oblivion = 7,258 pages

Skyrim = 11,346 pages

ESO = Mankind has yet to create a word counter capable of counting this high.

Danny and Ellie were captured by the GIW. Held and experimented on for an extended period of time. Both having been branded by the GIW.

In case they ever escaped. In both forms it’s always visible unless covered up.

It was only recently they started doing the more invasive experiments. Let’s say they vivisect Danny and have plans to do the same to Ellie.

Before they can even touch Ellie somehow through the power of family love or something he breaks the suppression device on him.

Which leads to him being able to grab her. Managing to make a portal he didn’t know he could do.

Whether it the same universe or a separate universe. The portal dumps them right in a middle of a justice league meeting. Danny bleeding and passed out from power use. Then Ellie who is frantic an panicky on full defense.

So now the justice league had to calm down Ellie and help Danny as well as figure out what on the world is happening.
