the university where I did my MA is holding a graduate english seminar on how to write prompts for AI generators and I am simply fucking flabbergasted. in an ENGLISH DEPARTMENT? where we teach the importance of writing skills and not plagiarizing others' work and doing our own analysis of writing and the writing process???? they're teaching a class on how to use glorified autofill that scrapes other people's writing without consent to produce a sub-par piece of text?? that is already ousting people out of writing jobs?????? they're teaching this in the department that prepares many of its students to graduate and seek out said writing jobs?????? what the fuck!
