Editors note: I think I missed posting on Tumblr because this post got away from me in the span of five minutes of writing...

I've been having a lot of thoughts about changing canon recently, some that I'm not super solid on. I know I want to change Aaron's death, but I'm not sure how. And I know for a fact I want to change Tu'la pretty drastically, but it's hard to do so with the current cast because so few of them would ever be really connected to it. Those are ideas I'm work shopping right now.

The one thing in canon I know I want to change is Garroth's betrayal. Because Lilian is an illusionist. So like... She could have knocked out Laurance and stole the amulet while disguised as Garroth. And then used the mask she had already used on him to mind control him away from the battlefield and to Zane while she did this.

This means that Laurance thinks Garroth betrayed them just in time for the mind control to properly set in and Garroth can actually betray them. And Lilian plotted all of this out. That's another thing, I'm fleshing out Lilian A LOT because even if she's a barely present character, I find her incredibly fascinating. She's 100% a girl boss and absolutely Zane's favorite that isn't Janus.

I like the idea of Lilian and Zane working together on more things than any other member of the Jury though. She's his most trusted confidant. Because I did something evil. I always thought that Lily, Aaron's dead wife, and Lilian looked similar and had similar names. Suspiciously similar.

Let's be honest, Zane is a petty malicious bastard, he absolutely would have a member of his jury willing to give up their identity to him take on the appearance of one of his victims. Just to taunt another. Man what was I on about with Gene as Arthis, Zane is clearly Arthis Menathil, but his Sylvannas is a man?? Unless Lilian is Sylvannas?? Or wait would it be Kiki?! I should stop going down this path, thinking about WoW only causes trouble.

Hey random aside, Lilian is totally trans, and she's used magic to transition fully. Zane helped her with all of this when she first joined the Jury and confessed to being born in the wrong body. That's all!

Anyways what I was trying to say is that Zane basically asked Lilian to take on the appearance of Lily when she pledged her loyalty to him. She had a different name. It's never clear if she remembers who she was or not, because her life seemingly started when she joined the Jury. Even if Janus is stronger and therefore better at enacting Zane's violence for him, Lilian is the most loyal member of the Jury. Zane knows that he can always rely on her.

And y'know what?? I'm gonna say it. Maybe they were a little in love. There. I said it. Fuck it, I'm gonna make Zane break from canon by expressing a genuine moment of vulnerability when he sees Lilian die because he cared about her. That sort of loyalty may be a tool he uses, but he also just cares about Lilian. How can he not when she's so devoted to him and so genuinely kind? She actually loves Zane, sort of, in a bad way, and he actually loves her, sort of, in a bad way.

Did I just imply that the inner most rankings of the Jury of Nine are actually just Zane's Polycule?? Y'know I can't even be surprised a post that was supposed to be about Garroth somehow turned into a new villain polycule, but I'm still a little amazed I managed to do that...

TLDR: Garroth gets mind controlled, Laurance gets played like a fiddle, and Lilian is a slaytastic girl boss that will surely be missed.

I have to wonder what will happen to Ginger and the rest of LO's yes-men if Lilly ever leaves the internet. Even if she never gets arrested for all the crap she's done, LO finds new ways to alienate what remains of her fanbase every day and even the biggest sycophants have their limits.

that's the biggest tragedy of all: they'll just move on as if nothing happened. some of the most invested fans might be "i wonder what happened to her", but that is about it. when LO dissapears from the internet nobody will remember her too much, not beyond just being the person who made that bad video about steven universe and those bad writing tips. she's not a pillar for any community she has ever interacted with. not even the one she does interact with, the Sylvannas fan club in wow, will have much anything to say when she's gone. the animation commentary community, the critic community in general, even the people who still love MLP, nobody will stand up in her name. she's already barely a name as it is now, only causing mild waves when she happens to touch on a beloved well established fandom (like with utena), but nothing else. i do find that legitimately sad to think about. that in more than 10 years of being a personality online, LO's "legacy" will be nothing worth being proud of. it'll be like she was never there in the first place, even for the very few fans that do want to get out to defend her. that's what i meant when said that she won't be remembered fondly, even if she doesn't end up in prison, because she herself already made sure to poison her own name.

And SPEAKING of blorbo from my video games, Sylvanas Windrunner?? The Blorbo from my Video Game. By which I mean the version of Sylvanas I made up in my head and not whatever the heck is happening in game. Because uhhh yikes fam.

Like, I like what we had prior to Legion! Which wasn’t exactly much in terms of strictly WoW lore (as far as I remember. I also don’t know what she was up to in Warcraft lol), but it was cool! A woman driven by the need to kill the man who killed her, raised her into undead servitude, and turned her against her own people. And she gets that! Arthas is killed, her vengeance is fulfilled, and with nothing left in this unlife for her she jumps from the top of ICC.

Only to be met with Warcraft Hell not the Maw because that’s dead to me and the reminder that her people still need her. If I remember her short story correctly lol. So Sylvannas comes back, tied to the Valkyrie and with a renewed sense of purpose for her life.

Now imagine, if instead of whatever mess that is canon, Sylvannas instead got an arc that focused on her becoming a protector of the Horde. A ruthless, bloodthirsty one, but a protector nonetheless.

In Cata she’s just vibing and bolstering the Forsaken and maybe connecting more with the Blood Elves. Because I’m not sure how much of that she’s done yet XD But mostly she’s lying low and sassing Garrosh when he comes around and probably still causing problems for Gilneas XD

In MoP she’s chomping at the bit to get Garrosh gone when she realizes he’s a problem, and she realizes she kind of cares about the Horde as a whole and not just the Forsaken and the Blood Elves. Starting with the Pandaren of all peoples. Seeing them get abused by Garrosh, alongside the Forsaken and Blood Elves triggers some long dormant instinct from when she was alive. It’s a protective one lol.

WoD is another lying low expansion, because we as players spend all our time on Draenor. But in the background Sylvannas is actually becoming a close advisor to Vol’jin. Because Vol’jin deserves to be warchief for longer than five minutes lol, and I think him and Sylv as warchief and right hand would be great. He’s more chill and Sylvanas’s first response to most problems is murder.

Legion is her moment to shine, leading forces against the Burning Legion as a military commander like in her Ranger-General days. She’s a beast in battle, she looks out for her forces, and is fast to accept the demon hunters once they prove their worth, because she’s becoming somewhat of a champion for the outcasted <3

BfA is more Sylv as a commander, following the logic I think she had in one of the novels. We’re at peace with the Alliance now, but what about in 5 years? 10? 15? We should be claiming the Azerite now, just in case. But with no burning of Teldrassil. It could still burn, but N’zoth is probably directly responsible for that if so. She didn’t do it lol. Also Azerite is probably most commonly found on the coats, and places ravaged by the cataclysm. For flavor! Also Tyrande can have her little vengeance arc early and turn the moon warrior stuff on the old gods! It’s a win win!

Dragonflight would be a backseat Sylvannas expansion. She’s probably back in Org with Vol’jin chilling. If she drops by the dragon isles, she gets to learn how to relax in between shooting primalists XD

Also, the purging of Strathholme. The creation of the Death Knights. The killing of Ranger General Sylvannas Windrunner and the sacking of Silvermoon City.
