Thank you for the tag. (And people please go check them out, since I created my writing blog I feel like I've been the lost shy puppy following them around haha. I love their blog so much 🖤)
----
FIVE THINGS I NEVER TIRE OF WRITING!
Rules: list five things you never get tired of writing. It can be anything, tropes, character situations, themes - whatever brings you joy.
(let me know all of your secret self indulgence, haha).
----
No.1: Contradictions.
My favorite characters I have, are nothing but a bucket of contradictions. Macaw, he's the brute with a nasty reputation and a sour attitude that will put you in the ground for looking at him wrong. But - he's gentle. He'll go out of his way to help or comfort random strangers or be a listening ear for someone. Just don't preemptently judge him before he speaks or initiates an interaction. That will determine how he treats you. Lucan, my DnD child. A genuinely kind and friendly guy who wants nothing more than to make the people around him happy. He's carefree and always in good spirits - yeah he's deeply traumatized with anxiety and guilt chewing at him in every silent moment he has. Before running into the current party he's traveling with, he was an honored member of a cult and by his hands, countless people were sacrificed to his gods. In any moment it's called for, he has no problem being brutal and unusually cruel to the point he scares himself by his own actions because he enjoys letting his frustration out a little too much.
No.2: I'll bring you down with me *insert crazy eyes*
Also a trait both Macaw and Lucan share. Just. A complete stupid disregard for their own life? I don't know what to call it. Both of them so jaded with their own actions of the past that it's led to both of them being reckless with no self preservation left to care. Will sink a ship with them on it just to make a point. Will burn a building to the ground with them in it just to watch their enemies burn with them. Fuck around, find out because I am no longer afraid of death and some days I welcome it. Definitely - hurt me so I can feel alive or else I'll do it myself.
No. 3: Symbolism, Symbolism, Symbolism.
Uff. Especially animal symbolism. But everything from the landscape to phrases, to little Easter eggs for myself when I go back through to reread things. It won't bother me if no one else picks up on them. I know they're there and what they mean. My mind works in weird ways and makes strange connections between things and you bet your sweet bippy it's littered throughout all the writing and art I create.
No. 4: Tragic Backstory.
I think that's enough said. I just. It just happens. I create characters just so I can hurt them I guess. Even the ones I make that WEREN'T supposed to be tragic somehow get a little bit of traumatic spice thrown in there. I mean. Look at Lucan. My goal wasn't to have a sad backstory player character. But a happy go lucky adventurer. Well after rolling stats and all that fun stuff I made a backstory that would fit his stats and abilities. Somehow that led to being a cult runaway? Now as the campaign has progressed more and more dark details have been added to his backstory to incorporate and fit into the DM's main storyline. But hey at least he's still a ball of sunshine to be around! (And my DM loves my character's story and every opportunity he gets, he goes ahead and throws a curve ball just to emotionally hurt my character too haha. Like the last one was a small fight with a Kenku and he used my DEAD FATHER'S VOICE to taunt me. Fuck that was something I wasn't expecting the DM to pull. I loved it.)
No. 5: EVERYONE IS BI.
Self projection. I know. I gotta keep reminding myself that not everybody is attracted to everybody. Ha. But reasoning for why basically all my characters are when I try to justify it ranges from: "This is DnD, how could anyone possibly be just straight?" to the dramatic "he's never been treated with compassion or has felt a soft loving touch. He'll bond with anyone who's willing to give him that." and everything in between.

@aphrodites-bloody-rose It’s that day again, it’s your birthday! So here’s a short fic to enjoy on this day!
Title: Worth More Than Bronze Series: Saint Seiya Character(s): Taurus Aldebaran, Pisces Aphrodite, Aries Mu, Kiki Word Count: 3072 Summary: Sometimes life hands you gold or lemons. Sometimes when you stop a black market from selling all kinds of magical animals and things, life hands you something else entirely. Aldebaran never looked back, even if looking forward presented a challenge.
“I found more crates in a truck bed” Aldebaran called out to Aphrodite who nodded and frowned as he watched the taller Saint placed them near a tent.
“This is such a mess” The Pisces Saint replied, sighing and tucking back several strands of hair behind an ear. “There’s so much here, most I don’t even know what it is or how they got it” and the entire thing left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Word had reached Sanctuary, as it always had with their advanced and deep networks, of a black market going to take place on one of the smaller islands of Greece. Normally, they would turn the matter over to the proper authorities but there was something strange about this one. Word was it was a market for the mysterious and fantastical, living or not and with that Athena sent Aldebaran and Aphrodite to handle the trouble with a small group of Sanctuary soldiers. They were to dress as civilians and investigate before calling in the guard.
A precaution that only turned to be for the best. They found the location and quickly realized how grave the situation truly was. Within a few minutes of observing the ‘market’ they had sent the signal and every dealer and buyer were arrested, save for a few that ended up as rose covered bodies. Aphrodite’s silent outrage was clear. They would handle the others later, until then they would stay locked away in one of Sanctuary’s prisons.
Which left the matter of the…stock, as if anything they found could be called that. There were animals, more like creatures as they were far too strange for that word. Birds with four long wings, lizards with stained glass like frills and crests, small griffon like ones that were no bigger than a medium-sized dog with peacock tails and long eel like creatures that flickered many colors in tanks. There were more too, as well as remains or bits of others. Pelts of furs, skulls and bones and then there were the jars. Clear things with labels such as ‘harpy’s talons’, ‘scales of a mermaid’, ‘venom of a manticore’ and an endless list of more.
If it was one small fortune the creatures had taken a liking to Aldebaran and didn’t peak, hiss or bite when the gentle Saint had refilled their food, water or stepped into their enclosures. Though it was clear to Aphrodite that the entire event bothered him, a deep sadness never left his eyes even as he lightly petted one of the peacocks like griffons as one of the four-winged birds sat on his shoulder.
For him, he had his own brand of bitterness and sorrow.
Besides the animals there plants, wild and exotic. Some were lined up in the sunlight while others were kept in the shadows. They called to him, asking for water or to moved just slightly towards the light or darkness. They were like nothing had had ever seen; a long vine bearing one that glowed in the shadows, one like a persian shield but with longer leaves in shades of blue and while, flowers that sounded like chimes when a breeze moved through them and another red flowering one that unfurled its petals and whispered a life among ladies in a city built in towering trees and lit lanterns before it had been stolen away when its captor tricked one lady into falling for him. Its sadness was clear, and he promised to return it to its right home as soon as he could. He gave it his name and it returned with its own; Nymph’s Heart.
They had sent a messenger bird after they had arrested everyone and received word back only a while ago. They were to spend the night, partly in case others came but mostly to watch over the beasts until of Sanctuary’s special contacts arrived to begin caring for…everything. The process of returning the animals to their natural environment, to sanctuaries or reserves would be a long one but worth it in the end. As for the plants, well…that would depend on the contact’s opinions and in the worst case, he always had room for new plants in his temple or gardens.
“If you want to switch, I can work on the list” Aldebaran said, resting a hand gently on his shoulder.
Aphrodite rubbed at his eyes and nodded, handing over the clipboard and pen “I’ll look over those crates then, we still have some daylight after all.”
“Of course, we have most things accounted for, I couldn’t find anything else besides those ones” He replied, gesturing over to where he laid them out. “First one was mostly jars of plants and er…odd books and scrolls, I didn’t open them.”
‘Those might be more aligned with Deathmask’s expertise’ Aphrodite thought, the Cancer’s library had been full of the stuff, an inheritance from those who came before him and he had taken a liking to the subjects. Then again, Shura had some as well though any books he had were an old, old form of Celtic they never could translate. ‘Well if the expert has little knowledge on them, we can deliver them to Cancer easily enough.’
Oh he could only imagine the glee on the Cancer Saint’s face when he returned with several dozen new tomes for him to devour.
‘Until then’ he thought as he pried open a crate ‘I best make sure there’s nothing we’re forgetting.’
Luckily enough, the crate held only items instead of living things. Small, clear boxes of palm sized crystals and rocks. Bolts of various cloths that shimmered, felt like ice to the touch, chain mail and another few that seemed to have runes etched into them.
“I don’t recognize these” Aphrodite sighed as he ran a thumb of one the bolts, rubbing the fabric between his fingers. It felt electrifying yet not painful, within him his cosmo stirred and seemed to brush forward towards it. “But I think giving these to Mu might be a good idea” He held one up for Aldebaran to inspect.
“That…that is odd” The Taurus agreed, eyes widening as he felt the same sensation and handed it back.
“To put it mildly” He nodded, slipping the bolt back into the crate and replaced its covering. “Now, let’s see what’s in the last one hm?”
The final crate was covered in chains and was lined with layers of blankets and straw on the inside, something completely different from the others they had seen and broken open. Aphrodite passed Aldebaran a “something is wrong” look as Aldebaran lowered himself beside him.
“Something important is in here” Aphrodite breathed. No one would put chains on the outside of something if they didn’t want someone to get in easily or for something to get out. Compared to everything else, who knew what that something was.
They dug slowly and carefully through the straw, tossing it to the sides as they went deeper in, until at last they stopped. A blanket wrapped something rested in the middle of the crate, larger than a football though a vaguely familiar shape.
Carefully, Aldebaran reached in and pulled it out. “It’s heavy” he noted before pulling back the blanket some and freezing.
Both Saints eyes went wide and Aphrodite covered his mouth with a hand.
It was sleek, like it was made of smooth metal that reminded them of their armor, yet the color was different. The shape was familiar because it was an egg, a heavy metal like egg.
“What creature could make this?” Aldebaran looked towards Aphrodite who shook his head.
“I have no idea, but something tells me we’re going to find out.”
----
Once they arranged everything in the shutdown market, the two saints retired to one of the tents they bought along with them and made themselves comfortable for the night. Well, as comfortable as they could considering one of them would be up part of the night before switching with the other. As for the egg, well Aldebaran had raised chickens before, and Aphrodite had hung around Shura long enough for some of his farm life experience had supplied some knowledge. They heated a blanket up by a fire and wrapped the egg in it entirely. They agreed that between keeping watch to make sure the blanket stayed warm as well.
Aldebaran had offered to take the first watch and currently sat by the crackling fire, arms crossed as he looked towards the night sky, the egg wrapped safe in a basket beside him. The sky was clear, and he could make out the stars making up several constellations, the weather was warm too as it usually was in Greece. It was peaceful in sharp comparison of the frenzy of the day.
Though it wasn’t an awful day, they stopped an illegal market from taking place, saved several creatures and hopefully would be to stop more from happening. It was also nice to interact with Aphrodite too, they rarely spoke unless they had too, what with their different social groups but he had always hoped to bridge any gaps that existed between him and the other Gold Saints.
The usual aloof but charming Aphrodite had shown a softer side of him today, not just through his words but in his actions. The horror he expressed when they first arrived, the anger to the people who dared to do such terrible things and then the sadness towards the creatures and plants. It was a rare to side but one he hoped just slightly to see more of.
“And then there is you” Aldebaran sighed as he took a sip of his still pipping hot tea and looked towards the egg. “Part of me hopes you don’t hatch too quickly; I fear we won’t know how to look after you properly. But then again, I can’t help but be curious to know what you are, can you blame me?” he chuckled.
Perhaps it was silly to speak to an egg, yet it was soothing to get his thoughts out of his mind.  “Though, hopefully you won’t be too dangerous-hm?” he paused, a sound reaching him and causing him to go on the alert.
An odd sound, like a chirp then followed by the basket shifting and-“Aphrodite!” he shouted, twisting around to see the lantern inside the tent light up before he focused back on the rocking basket.
“What, what? I’m awake!” The Pisces shouted, stumbling out of the tent and brushing his hair out of his eyes.
“The egg!” He replied as he pulled the basket on it his lap to steady it and pull back the blanket just in time as it began to crack. Sounds came forth like odd squeaks and cries as a paw-if that was a paw-began to claw at one side as another began to kick more at the metal like shell.
“Oh sweet heavens, now?” The Pisces gasped and returned with the lantern to shine over the Taurus’ shoulder as they watch an awe as a small form broken its way into the world.
A head poked and nudged at part of the shell before another part of the egg exploded out from the side as another appendage-a wing-broke out. As quick as it begun it ended as Aldebaran moved bits of the shell out of the basket as the creature did the rest of the work.
There was a long tail, four legs, a long neck for its size and two wings, a row of nubs adorned its head that would likely grown into a crest, in the light of the lantern it looked like it was covered in yellowish scales. It slide out of the rest of the shell before tripping on its wing and landed on its back, chirping as it stared up at them and they stared at it.
“Aldebaran…what is that?” Aphrodite whispered as he leaned over his shoulder more.
“I…I believe it’s a dragon” He replied, looking towards the other Gold Saint, heart beating hard against his chest. Questioned flew in his mind, how was it possible? Where did it come from? How did someone get it? Did the expert know anything about dragons? What were they going to tell Athena?
----
Two days later, Aldebaran found himself trying to hush his housemate and close a door.
“Shh, shh, I know you want to explore but not right now, I don’t know how Mu and Kiki will react to you yet” He said, voice even as he bent down to try and nudge the small, energetic creature inside “It’s only for a few minutes I swear.”
Every day since they returned from the mission had been busy and chaotic. The expert had arrived early in the morning just a few hours after the dragon had hatched. The animals, many endangered as it turned out, had been begun to be sent to safe places with trusted hands. The items in all shapes and forms were generally safe and the expert saw no harm and in allowing Sanctuary to keep them; tomes and scrolls to Deathmask, rocks and fabric to Mu, weapons to Shura and the plants…the plants went to Aphrodite’s expanding gardens.
And the dragon…to him.
It was a bronze dragon the expert told them, one of many breeds of dragons in their world. They were fond of warm weather, swimming and were more common in the Mediterranean areas. They were friendly he said, they loved people and rarely fought unless they had to, or they sensed an enemy was evil. They generally liked humans and often took the forms of them but the infant was too young to learn such a thing. It had been stolen away from a lair most likely, few people hunted dragons and even few hunted metallic ones. The expert had promised to do his best to find its family though that might take a while as dragons, especially bronze ones, were difficult to find.
And once he was the first thing the little one had seen; it would be difficult to have someone else look after it besides its parents. Until then, he was left with a handful of notes how what was safe to feed the baby dragon and things to watch out for, like odd gas from its mouth or bolts of lightening as that was apparently what bronze dragons breathed rather than fire.
Aside from Aphrodite, Athena, Saga and Aiolos, no one else knew of the dragon’s presence. Though part of him wondered if Aphrodite told Deathmask or Shura.
That was going to change today, as Mu wished to have lunch with him and young Kiki. It only made sense to him to let his lover know about the newest, temporary guest of the Zodiac Temples as Mu and Kiki had been away in Jamir until today.
Just as he finally shut the door, he heard Mu call out to him, Kiki sliding over a corner to run towards him.
“Alde! Alde you’re back!” He shouted as he ran and leapt to give him a hug as Aldebaran bent down to catch him.
“So are you short stack!” He laughed and stood up as Kiki hung on to one of his arms.
Mu only smiled and shook his head “And he didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.”
Kiki made a sound of disgust and stuck out of his tongue “But it was so early when we got back!”
“Tsk, Mu you know how bad jetlag can be” Aldebaran teased and chuckled as Mu rolled his eyes.
“but you know what does help with jetlag? Food, some of lunch is ready!” He said, swinging Kiki lightly towards the kitchen area. The kid gasped and let go just he swung slightly forward and dashed off to start digging into the food no doubt.
“Kiki, won’t eat everything!” Mu shouted, getting a drawn out “Fine” as a replied.
“He’s getting ready to hit another growth spurt soon” Mu sighed and rubbed at his eyes.
“It’s only natural, he’ll be a preteen before you know it” Aldebaran laughed only to jerk when he heard the dragon chirp behind the door.
“Alde? What was that?” Mu asked and looked around.
“Uh…must have been a bird?” He offered, silently stepped towards the door.
Mu gave him a hard, knowing look “Something is behind that door, isn’t it?”
“Yes! But I really ought to explain before I let it out-“
Too late, there was a sound of a door handle being broken and then there was the feeling of small, needle like claws grasping at his back as the dragon climbed up him and leapt off his shoulder. Mu gasped and took a step back as it moved, dashing off towards the kitchen in an awkward gallop, what with its tail and wings trying to trip itself once and while.
“Good heavens, what was that?” Mu shouted they bolted towards the kitchen, hearing Kiki squeal.
“I swear I can explain!” He shouted back as they sprinted.
Their worry faded as they around a curved corner and sighed in heavy relief.
There was Kiki, holding the wiggling mess of limbs that was called a baby dragon as it was a puppy or kitten. The dragon simply squealed back and chirped, tail moving back and forth just as puppy would, wings spread out as it nudged its head against Kiki’s cheeks. It was surprising to see Kiki hold the small creature, given they were almost the same size.
“Alde…what…that…that can’t” Mu gasped out before straightening his back and leaning towards the doorway with his mouth agape. “That can’t be a dragon” he managed to say.
“It’s a bronze dragon, technically” He replied, smiling sheepishly as Mu gave him a wide-eyed look while Kiki to the floor and laughed without a care in the world. The young dragon sniffed and flickered its tongue at him before leaping off him and began to wiggle its backside like a cat about to pounce.
“Bronze? What, how?” Mu asked.
“Can we keep it!” Kiki shouted.
“No!”
“I kind of have too!”
“Huh? Have to-I” Mu paused and dropped his shoulders as he pressed a hand against his face. “What exactly happened on your mission?” He asked.
“It’s kind of a long story” He said, rubbing a hand against Mu’s back “I’ll explain as we eat but…want to help pick out a name?”

My top 5 ongoing Klance fanfics
Back to the Wall by @sir--cumference
Look, Lance is fine, okay? He’s doing great, actually. He’s starting to climb again, he's got amazing friends that love him, his bladder is super healthy right now, and he's finally sworn off dating! Which was a great idea, really. Best idea ever.
It’s just too bad he meets Keith. Dude's gonna throw all his plans out of whack.
OR a climbing gym AU where Keith is a lonely bike mechanic with a cute dog, and Lance is a grad student with a chronic illness. They reconnect after a past hook up and things sort of spiral from there.
~
This fic has it all: fluff, angst, humour and steamy scenes. Of course the main focus is Klance but the platonic relationships are amazing especially with the garrison trio who all love and support each other (which includes massive amounts of teasing). The characterisation of Lance is wonderful. He's the perfect mix of complete dork and charismatic lover boy.
Binary Stars by @astro-biologist
Monsters and Mana is the newest innovation in gaming technology, and Lance has his sights set on playing it, no matter what the cost. However, it just may turn out to be more than he bargained for.
~
If you really enjoy DnD, video games or fantasy then this is the fic for you. I adore the world building in this fic. It's so mysterious and the plot keeps you guessing at every turn. The stakes are high and the tension between Keith and Lance is even higher. If this isn't convincing you well the fact that the lions are dragons in this fic should.
Game Point by @enlacinglineswrites and @not-so-sunnie
When you're captains of rival teams, it's normal to want to know your enemy. Know their habits, their weaknesses, their tells.
At least, that's what Lance and Keith tell themselves as they watch each other in painstaking detail.
It's all about the rivalry. Nothing more.
~
This is a really fun fic to read! You've got rivals Klance and mutual pining Klance (and mutual thirsting). If you like nosy teasing friends and competitive ping pong you'll love this fic! It's really upbeat and it makes me feel pumped up just reading it.
Lovesick Series by @i-write-shakespeare-not-disney
This is a 3 part ongoing series about Keith and Lance juggling college, life and their relationship. The first instalment Medicine is how they met, it then branches into Side Effects - Lance's POV- and Addiction - Keith's POV. Phoenix (the author) updates snippets of chapters as she writes them on her tumblr which is super cool and I love waking up and seeing updates.
This series is very raw and deep as it dives into topics like grief, acceptance and toxic relationships. The fluff makes you swoon and the angst makes your heart clench. The boys have a lot of baggage and they're finding their feet in the relationship while obstacles like ex's and family gets thrown in their way.
Time and Tide by @rangoatemybabynsfw
Lance has been waiting his whole life for the day he got to study the merfolk up close. It's a dream come true to finally see the mystical creatures in person and he can't wait to make new discoveries. Including love, perhaps?
Keith's been dreading this migration ever since he became of age. Looking for a mate has never appealed to him and he doesn't expect that to change. He's too strange and different from the others. He would never strike another mer's fancy. But maybe...he'd strike a human's interest instead?
~
The ultimate mermaid au, 'Time and Tide' has merman Keith and researcher Lance. The build up in this fic leaves you begging for more with each update. I love merman aus and this one is one of the best I've read and I'd highly recommend you give it a read (and rango's others works if you like a bit of spice 😉).
/
Please everyone rec their own fav ongoing fics! I always love finding new fics to read and I'm sure the authors love seeing people suggesting their fics too!

I guess this can count as my contribution for day 7 of Dianakko week lol, but it’s more of a prompt that I started and really wanted to finish.
Imagine Person A asking Person B if they want to roleplay with them. B, thinking A means some kinky stuff, says yes. A then proceeds to bring out dice, paper, pens, miniatures, and the rulebook to DND/Stars Without Number/Shadowrun/another tabletop RPG.
On a quiet Saturday evening, Akko and Diana sat quietly in the blue team’s room. The young Cavendish had her head in her books as usual, while Akko was sprawled out on the blonde’s soft and comfy bed.
Akko had stopped by the see what her girlfriend had been up to for the night, hoping that the blonde would want to spend some time with her. While she was disappointed to see that Diana was studying, the Japanese witch wasn’t entirely surprised. The blue-eyed girl did allow her girlfriend to accompany her however, and Akko was grateful for that. Part of the reason why she came to bother Diana was because Lotte and Sucy were busy cuddling in the room, so she decided that it’d be best to give them some privacy.
However, as time went on, it seemed like British witch had no plans on taking a break from reviewing her notes anytime soon, and Akko was starting to become restless.
“Diana!” The brunette called out to her girlfriend. “When are you gonna close those books, and come snuggle with me?”
“Give me a few more minutes, Akko.” Diana responded, turning a page in the thick textbook. “I must review Monday’s readings for Professor Badcock’s class.”
Akko groaned, and rolled her eyes, but thought it’d be best to patiently wait for Diana to finish her studies.
After a good twenty minutes though, Akko’s patience wore thin. Severely craving for her girlfriend’s affection, the ruby-eyed girl decided to take matters into her own hands. Literally.
Crawling off the bed, the Japanese witch sneaked up behind the blonde, and promptly slammed the textbook Diana was reading from closed.
Blue eyes widened, and the tall girl jumped slightly at the sudden loud noise that the book echoed when it was forcefully shut.
“Atsuko!” Diana yelped, ready to scold her girlfriend for rudely disturbing her studies, but before she could get another syllable out, a pair of petite, yet strong arms wrapped around the heiress’ sides and proceeded to lift her up from her chair.
Akko struggled at first, but successfully picked Diana up from her desk. The blonde couldn’t help but to wonder if she was really that light, or perhaps Akko’s private training with Chariot was really starting to pay off.
The brunette carried, and gently placed the British girl down on the bed, and straddled her girlfriend’s lap.
“No more studying!” The smaller girl sternly proclaimed. “For the rest of tonight, you’re gonna pay attention to me, and me only.”
Diana’s expression shifted from a shocked one, to a look of annoyance. She raised her eyebrow, almost as if she was challenging the Japanese girl’s orders.
Realizing just how selfish her demands might have been, Akko put her best puppy dog pout face on, and lowered her head to plant kisses along Diana’s perfectly shaped jawline.
“そうしていただけませんか?” (Would you please do so?)
Diana’s knowledge with Akko’s native language was mediocre at best, but the blonde immediately recognized the phrase. It was one her lover would use quite often, typically when she was begging for attention, and if it were any other night, like a weekday, Diana would’ve protested and gone back to studying.
However, seeing how it was the weekend, and her own boredom from frequently scanning magical numerology texts was truthfully starting to have an effect on her, Diana had to admit that Akko’s request was one that she should, and would accept. Not to mention that she was also under the influence of the brunette’s tender kisses, which were now stringing along her neck.
“Akko…” Diana quietly groaned. She unconsciously looped her arms around the other girl’s waist, and instinctively pulled the shorter girl closer, burying her head in the crook of Akko’s neck.
Diana didn’t realize exactly just how tense she was until she breathed in Akko’s scent. The deep breath she took and Akko’s now light kisses relaxed her body tremendously. That’s when the British girl came to terms with the fact that this was exactly what she needed. Her classwork would be there for her to review tomorrow morning, or early afternoon, depending on how long Akko could convince Diana to sleep in and cuddle in bed. Regardless, right now, she was content with having a peaceful night alone with her girlfriend.
That’s when Diana’s bright blue eyes shot open, and a few gears that were previously stationary in her head started to slowly turn. Her and Akko were alone. Hannah and Barbara were out spending the night with the purple team, which meant that her and the brunette had the entire room to themselves.
Which meant that the young heiress could finally bring about an important question that’s been lingering in her mind ever since her and Akko began their romantic relationship.
“Akko…” the prodigy croaked once again, and tried to pry herself away from her girlfriend.
Akko grunted in disapproval, and instead of detaching herself from the girl sitting under her, Akko gently pushed Diana down on the bed, and laid on top of her. With the thought that Diana just wanted to continue her work, there was no way Akko was letting the blonde escape from her grip.
“A-Akko, please,” Diana tried once more, “if you don’t mind, t-there’s something rather important I would like to request from you.” She stuttered, flustered as she felt the Japanese girl softly nibble on her ear lobe. “Not that I mind them, b-but I believe it would be better if you could cease with your displays of… Affection, just for a second, so I can properly ask you this simple question.”
With her curiosity peaked, Akko finally took a break from kissing her girlfriend. Giving Diana the benefit of the doubt, and trusting that she won’t dash back to her desk to open up her textbooks again, Akko rolled off the blonde and sat up to listen to what she had to say.
Diana, after collecting her thoughts, took a deep breath, and sat back up as well, facing the brunette. “Akko, how do you feel about…” She paused, slightly embarrassed about what she was about to ask.
Akko cocked her head to the side, waiting for the blonde to continue. “How I feel about what, Diana?”
“Don’t back down now.” Diana thought to herself. “You’re a Cavendish, so pull yourself together and tackle this with pride! This is Akko we’re talking to, your girlfriend, there is no need to be embarrassed. Besides, we won’t have another chance to do this again for a while!”
“Diana?” Akko spoke again, feeling a bit awkward with her girlfriend’s silence.
“H-How do you feel about… Roleplaying?”
The brunette took a minute to digest the question “Roleplaying? As in… Pretend?”
“Essentially, yes.” Diana’s face started to rapidly heat up. “I was wondering, if you would… Like to try doing so, tonight.”
“Yes!” Akko answered without any hesitation. “I’d love to!”
Shocked, yet relived at her girlfriend’s enthusiasm, Diana let out the intake of breath that she had been anxiously holding in. “Thank goodness, stay put then.” Diana turned to walk past her bookshelf got up and walked towards her bookshelf. “I shall retrieve the materials.”
“M-materials?” Akko squeaked, loud enough only for her to hear. It was now her turn to start blushing.
Various wild thoughts and scenarios played within Akko’s brain. “Roleplaying, huh!? Oh man, what if we’re finally going all the way tonight!? I didn’t expect this to escalate so quickly! I mean, we just barely passed 2nd base! I don’t know what to do!” The ruby-eyed girl frantically ran her fingers through her hair.
“Okay, get a hold of yourself! You’re Atsuko Kagari! A fearless witch, who will not back down at the idea of spicing things up a bit, and going out of the ordinary! Now pull yourself together, before Diana turns around!”
With her newfound confidence, Akko thought it’d be best to begin stripping away parts of her uniform while Diana was still fetching her “materials.” The red sash around her waist was thrown across the room, and she began to undo her top.
“I wonder what kinda stuff Diana’s into...” Akko began to ponder again. “Maybe she’ll dress up as a sexy cop, and put me in handcuffs! Or maybe she’ll dress up as a hot maid, or she’ll be a nurse, and I’ll be the patient! Or maybe we’ll-“
“Akko?” Said girl jumped when she heard Diana’s delicate voice bring her back to reality. “I have everything we’ll need, so I hope you… Akko, why are you getting undressed?”
The brunette in question raised an eyebrow in confusion, but realized why the silly question was being asked when she caught sight of the blonde.
Akko may have misinterpreted the situation.
Diana was holding a box for the RPG board game Dungeons & Dragons. On top of the cover were two pens and sheets of paper, some dice, and the rulebook for the game.
“I-I, uh, well, I thought that we… Um…” Akko failed to form a complete sentence. Not only was she embarrassed that she misunderstood Diana’s question from earlier, but she also wasn’t sure if Diana was serious or not. Who would’ve thought that the magical prodigy, Diana Cavendish, was secretly into roleplaying games?
Diana’s anxiety started internally acting up when she saw how her girlfriend reacted to the game she was holding. “I-If, you don’t want to play, then that’s-“
“No! Diana, I want to!” Akko insisted, and started to fix her uniform. “It’s just that, I thought that maybe this RPG would include… costumes? You know, like we’d dress up and stuff to really get into character!”
“Oh, well, I apologize for any misunderstandings,” Diana’s nerves started to slowly calm down, “but unfortunately, I don’t quite think costumes will be necessary, at least, not for my taste anyway.”
Akko thanked the great witch, Jennifer, that her lie had been received well. “That’s okay, Diana. Anyways,” The brunette grabbed the box out from her girlfriend’s hand and set it down on the bed, “You may be a pro with the Shiny Chariot trading cards, but you’ll soon learn that I am the master at D&D!”
The blonde chuckled at her girlfriend’s self-proclaimed title, and sat across from her, helping Akko unpack the box and set up the game pieces.
As the game and the night progressed, both girls turned out to be enjoying themselves. Diana, having gotten over her embarrassment of revealing her secret enjoyment of RPGs to her lover, and the dirty thoughts that protruded Akko’s mind had soon been disposed of. Though, the Japanese girl made it her goal to frequently tease Diana about her secret, much to the blonde’s annoyance.
However, Diana was really quite thankful that Akko didn’t judge her private love for roleplaying games. Like her secret admiration for Shiny Chariot, this was something that Diana had to keep to herself while growing up, even while attending Luna Nova. Had Hannah and Barbara had found out, she wouldn’t hear the end of it, even after graduation. So, having someone who shared similar interests with her and who wouldn’t pass any harmful judgement was an excellent feeling. Better yet, having someone who would actively participate in such activities with her was a great outlet in general.
While Akko still felt slightly sheepish about the whole ordeal, she’d be lying if she said that she wasn’t having a good time. Anytime spent with the British girl instantly brightened up Akko’s already cheerful demeanor. And, although this would be a situation to laugh at in the future, the brunette couldn’t help but to think just how much of a nerd her girlfriend was.
And, of course, just how much she loved her.
