The New Gotham Rogue, Keeper Pt.1
So! When Danny was killed by the Portal, he was tossed into the Realms and the Portal collapsed behind him. All that was left was a small Spiral shaped Crack in Reality hanging in the Air, and a crater where the Portal had originally opened.
His Family and Friends assumed he was vaporized by the malfunctioning Portal and mourned his death, and Danny himself thought he was just Flat Out Killed by the Portal and became a normal Ghost.
Danny was stuck in the Ghost Zone for over a Month, coming to terms with his own Death, before something happened. The Portal Re-opened itself temporarily.
When Danny found it Open, he was Elated! He could finally go back home, explain what had happened to his Parents, maybe even find a way to live in the Human World as a Ghost!
Unfortunately, he wasn't the first one to find the Portal. Lunch Lady had reached it about an Hour before he did, and had begun attacking the students at his old school for changing the Lunch Menu she had concocted in her life.
Danny rushed to stop her, and eventually managed to beat her. Unfortunately, his Parents showed up and started attacking him too. Even after he explained that he was Danny, that he was their Son, they didn't stop. In fact, they got even more aggressive, saying that their son was dead and that he was just another Spook.
In the end, Danny had to run back into the Ghost Zone to escape his parents, dragging Lunch Lady with him.
After that, he decided that he had to become a Guardian of the Portal whenever it randomly Opened, to keep both the Humans and the Ghosts safe.
For over a year, he stopped almost every Ghost that attempted to pass through the Portal, fighting them back or stalling them until the Portal closed again. There were a few incidents where they managed to get passed him, like when Undergrowth mind controlled his old friend Sam, or when Hotep-Ra reawakened Tuckers memories from his pasts lives, but most of the time he had it under control.
Of course not all of them had to get past him, Natural Portals still existed after all, but every time they got to the Human Realm he would find them and drag them back.
Unfortunately, being the one thing standing between the Ghosts and the opportunity to fulfill their Obsessions earned him a lot of resentment.
Everybody he met hated him. He was seen as a Villain in the Zone, the one who prevented everybody from fulfilling their Purpose at every pass.
Danny was not in a good head space about it.
His mind was buckling under the pressure of it all. His duties as the Guardian of the Portal, the hatred the Denizens of the Realms held for him, the lonliness eating away at his Sanity, it was all too much. He felt his psyche cracking ever so slightly every day that passed like this.
It got better for a time in the 2nd year of his Afterlife. He had managed to befriend a few Ghosts, mainly the Leaders of certain Kingdoms who saw the necessity of his action, as well as a few others.
Frostbite, Pandora, and Dorathea were the Pillars upholding his sanity for that period of time. He finally had friends (or at least people who didn't harbor nothing but distain for him). But unfortunately, it couldn't last forever. They had Kingdoms to run, People to Lead, and they couldn't spend all their free time entertaining his selfish whims his need to talk to someone, anyone at all, so he forced himself to stop bothering them so much (they didn't think any of that)
And Guarding the Portal took most of his time as well. His Rouges had started attacking him between it's Openings, hoping to gain control of the Portal while it was inactive so they had first dibs when it did open. Danny was getting run ragged trying to keep them all away.
Eventually, he reached his second Death Day. It didn't really feel like 2 years had passed, in fact it felt like much, much longer than that, but he knew in his Core that it was his 2nd Death Day. Also, whenever he peeked through the Portal, it seemed like 2 years ago passed in the Living World, so he just went with that.
On that day, he discovered something. During a battle with Plasmius, (who was still enraged at him for blowing up his own, stable Portal), he felt something strange. A familiarity that he had never noticed before, which happened when Plasmius briefly turned Human to avoid his attacks.
After the Battle, Danny decided to investigate that feeling. It was a weird sensation, like pressure built up in his Chest that he had never noticed until that moment with Plasmius, the first time he had ever seen him Transform in person.
After focusing on it for a while, Danny felt it getting stronger and stronger until it Burst with a flash of light. And suddenly he was Human again. He was Alive again.
It was another few minutes of testing this ability out before he finally stopped and took it all in. He was a Human. even if he was half Ghost.
He was Human.
He was Alive.
A thought struck him. Did this mean he could go back home? Back to his Family? His friends? Mom and Dad? Jazz? Sam and Tucker?
In an instant he was up and running to the still Open Portal. It hadn't closed since he had beaten Plasmius, as it it felt his desire to return to the Human World.
It actually might have, considering it was a part of him. Clockwork had explained it after the whole, Dan situation. When he had first formed, a piece of his newly formed Core had broken off and become the Core of the Portal instead. It gave him a connection that allowed him to better Guard the Portal, knowing when it was Open or if somebody had used it.
Stopping at the edge of the Opening, Danny thought about all the things he would be able to do again. Hug his Parents, eat Human Food, talk to his friends. Oh God, it had been so long since he had actually talked to another person. None of his Rouges had bothered reciprocating his Quips in almost a year now, so he barely ever had anybody to talk to. Even somebody proclaiming their eternal hatred for him would be better than the endless silence.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped through the Portal with Hope in his Heart.
On the other side, he found un unfamiliar room.
It was much cleaner than his Parents Lab, with all the different Inventions placed perfectly in neat workstations. Multiple work stations. Had his parents hired some neat freak assistants? Why were there so many Work Stations?
Honestly that wasn't even the most eye catching detail he noticed. There was something else, something more noticeable.
It was the fact that everything in the entire Lab was White.
He heard a series of footsteps approaching the Lab, and before he knew it, the room was filled with GIW Agents and Scientists, all pointing their Weapons at him.
He tried to call out to them, to tell them that it was okay, that he was Human. But all that came out was the static sound of Ghost Speak. Why did that happen? He wanted to use Human Language! Why was he only using Ghost Speak? Had he...had be really forgotten how to speak?
Did he really forget the one thing basic for almost every human? How? Sure it had been a while since he spoke it, but were 2 years of not speaking English really enough for him to forget everything?
But, it hadn't been just 2 years, had it? Time moved strangely in the Ghost Zone, and it definitely felt like longer. How long had it actually been? How long had he been Dead?
Stuck in his own mind, he never saw the barage of attacks coming his way.
...
Danny was stuck in that Lab for over 6 months.
He was kept in that same room he was captured in, constantly being cut open and pulled apart before being left overnight to heal himself.
He tried to explain that he was human in any way possible, but without being able to talk it was hard. He tried writing out in his own blood at once point, but they just cut him opened even more after that, trying to figure out how the "Mindless Ghost" had managed to imitate human writing.
They never listened to him screaming in pain. In their eyes it was just a random Ghost trying to trick them into thinking he could Feel.
Every time he screamed in pain, they would berate him. "You can't feel, shut up!" "You aren't human, stop taking that form!" "You are a Ghost! You can't feel scared, get up!" "You are just a mindless blob of Ectoplasm!" "You would kill everybody here if given the chance!" "You aren't Human!" "You aren't real!" "You're just a Monster!"
"You aren't Alive!"
Even through all that Torment, he didn't stop fighting. He knew he was Human, that he was alive. There was nothing that would ever change that. Or so he thought.
Then they brought his Parents in.
They had previously mentioned them, praising them for their technical skills and cheering the fact that they had sold them the Portal, even if it had not turned back in since he came through. Then, they decided to bring them in to study the Ghost who kept imitating their dead son.
When they first walked in, Danny felt a spark of hope. Maybe they would save him, maybe they would see that he was alive, that he was real.
But they didn't. They just kept on with the same experiments as before, yelling the same things, but it hurt so much more coming from them.
He didn't last long under their study. He broke, and he didn't think he would ever put himself back together again.
...
It was at the 6 Month Mark that something new happened. As it turns out neither his, nor the Portal's absense had gone unnoticed in the Zone.
In his time trapped in that Lab, he had used his connection to the Portal to keep it from opening, using every ounce of his Willpower to force it to stay closed, no matter how much it struggled under his control.
When he was finally Broken by his Parents, he lost his grip on the Portal, and that night it opened for the first time in Months.
The first one to find him was, coincidentally, the Lunch Lady. The first ever Ghost he guarded the Portal from.
What she saw when she floated into that Room would forever Scar her memories. Danny in his Ghost Form laying strapped to an Operation Table, his organs out in the Air, his ribs spread out like an Eagle. At the center of his Chest sat his Core, exposed for the whole world to see, showing off all the damage it had received since the Scientists first found it all those months ago.
He looked up at her, and his eyes told her all she needed to know. Run.
She fled back through the Portal, horror stricken across her face. Danny managed to shut it down again after that.
Apparently news of what she had seen seen had spread around the Realms. Even when the Portal was active, nobody came through. The few times anybody did poke their head through, they saw him and left screaming in Terror.
Danny knew they would never save him. He was their Enemy, the Villain in their story, they would never risk themselves trying to help him.
And honestly he didn't know if he wanted to he helped. This was all his Fault. He was the one to open the Portal, he was the one who Guarded it for all that time, he was the one who got himself into this mess.
One time, he felt the Familiar Aura of Pandora approaching the Portal, and forced it closed before she could reach it. Her head managed to get through for a moment, but when she looked at him with those pleading eyes, begging to let her help him, he closed them as tight as he could and shut the Portal Closed, pushing her Back into the Realms.
She was trying to save him. But she didn't deserve to get hurt trying to help a waste of space like him.
He needed to get the Portal away from the Lab. It was only a matter of time before he lost any ability to close the Portal at all, before the Scientists managed to find a way to keep it open and invade the Realms. He needed to get it away from them, if only to protect the Ghosts on the other side.
He needed to do his Job, to guard the Portal. From either Side.
...
It took another month of conserving his strength before he managed to break out of his Shackles. It took a bit if trial and error, but eventually he found a way to draw the Portal into himself to transport it away.
It was technically a piece of his Core after all, he just had to slot it back into Place.
After that, he had to find a way out of the Lab. The Scientist he found wandering outside his room didn't have any Overshadowing Protection at the time, so he managed to get halfway to the Exits before the alarms sounded.
Then it was a mad dash of fighting off Guards and dodging the Security System to get to the Door. He dropped the Body when he reached the Doors.
It didn't get any easier after escaping the Building, but after several hours of chasing he eventually lost them.
He kept running though. He couldn't keep the Portal within him forever, and he needed a safe place to let it out. Hours of running eventually led him to somewhere that might work.
Gotham City.
...
Cass wasn't entirely sure that she was making the right call in this, but Croc's Body Language seemed to suggest that he was being genuine in his intentions, so she kept on following him.
In the past few Months, there had been a string of incidents where Government Agents in White Suits had incited fights and shootouts while "investigating" a supposed escaped Superpowered Prisoner. They had justified themselves by saying that the civilians they were attacking were actually Extra Dimensional Monsters known as Ecto-Entities, also known as Ghosts.
Of course a simple blood test always disproved them, but they were relentless in their "investigation". She used air quotes because they were some of the most Incompetent and Dimwitted morons the team had ever encountered, which was saying something. The only semi-competent ones where the pair of Scientists who commanded them, but even they were borderline insane, constantly ranting about how Evil Ghosts were and how they wanted to pull them apart molecule by molecule.
Unfortunately, there was nothing her Dad could do about them. They were a legitimate Government Agency, no matter how incompetent, and they hadn't been lucky enough to actually do any damage in their multitude of fights, so her Dad couldn't really force them to leave.
He had however started looking into the missing Ghost Prisoner they were chasing. If he could just find it, they could get the GIW out of the City and be done with them.
Her Dad and Tim's investigation had led him to a few short reports from a couple of months ago, describing a Humanoid figure covering in a glowing green liquid stalking the streets one night before disappearing all of a sudden. There wasn't much to work with, but the Team kept on the investigation in the hopes that they could get rid of the GIW sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately Cass, Damian, and Jason were exempt from the investigation, because for whatever reason whenever they came anywhere near the GIW, they started attacking them.
They had argued that they could take care of themselves, but Bruce had been adamant that they stay out of it. Damian had eventually relented, trusting the orders of his Father. Jason had flat out refused, but said that he would stay out of it just as long as the GIW stayed out of Crime Alley.
Cass however? She didn't want to be left out! She had more than proven that she could take care of herself, but her Dad was still too paranoid to even let her out of the House. She decided that she would undergo her own Investigation, and prove to her Dad that he shouldn't have ousted her from the Case like that.
She decided to take a different approach to the Investigation. Her Family was still combing through reports from the previous few months to see if there were any more mentions of the Figure, but she thought of something else.
After looking at the randomly reported sightings of the Entity that her family had collected, she noticed something. They were all set near Farners Markets, Grocery Stores, Restaurants.
The Entity was looking for Food.
She didn't think extra-dimensional Entities would be eating the same food as other Humans, but then again these things are supposedly impressions of Human Emotion that remain after death. Maybe it held onto the same Habits?
She decided to follow that potential lead.
Tracking stolen food across Gotham was tricky, because so many people were stealing food to survive. But eventually she got down a Pattern. It would strike at nighttime, stealing only Canned Food, and the Camera's would be covered in static for his duration in the store. Curiously, it would also take a few containers of Fudge whenever the store had it.
It was very steady for a while, and eventually she found that her list of locations matched up to the sightings the others had gathered had from the past few months.
On the day she was about to reveal the results of her investigation to her Dad, something changed.
The GIW had a major shootout, where they reported that they had found and injured the Prisoner, but it had Escaped.
The reports of stolen food matching it's M.O. stopped coming in after that. She thought that her Lead had been lost, and was mentally cursing the GIW in her head for days, before an offhand comment from one of her brother's caught her attention.
"Croc was seen stealing Canned Food recently. Didn't think he ate anything but Meat, but I guess he got a taste for Chocolate Fudge."
So, she investigated the Lead and found that Croc had taken up stealing the same type of food as the Entity did.
Quickly, she looked up the maps of every store that had been hit, as well as the Sewer Systems, and looked at them side by side. They matched up. At every single location where the Entity had stolen it's food, there was a Major Sewer Line.
And each of those Sewer Lines were in Killer Croc's territory. Killer Croc was harboring the Entity, he was feeding it.
She had solved it! The Ghost Entity was living in the Sewers!
She almost got up and ran to tell her father the news right then and there, but she paused. There were still unanswered questions, questions she wanted to figure out before telling her Dad.
Why was Croc feeding the Entity?
What connection did they have?
Why was the Entity in the City in the first place if the GIW was there as well, looking for it?
She needed all the answers before presenting it to her dad. She wanted to cover all of her Bases if she was going to admit that she went against her Dad's orders, not wanting to anger him. (She knew he wouldn't be mad at her, but old fears die hard.)
It took a while to find a way to sneak out of the House, but she managed it eventually. She roped Alfred into covering for her, saying she just needed some fresh air after being stuck in the house for almost a Month. Which was actually true.
After that it was just a matter of scoping out the spot where she had predicted Croc would be first, and waited.
It took a few tries to get the right location, but eventually she managed to find him. Croc was wary of her at first, and when she mentioned the food matching the MO of somebody else she was tracking, he flipped out!
He wouldn't let her get a word in, not that he was speaking very much, but still.
He calmed down after a few minutes of her not fighting back. She convinced him that she just wanted to talk to the one she was Tracking, whoever he was, so she could ask them for help in getting the GIW out of the City. Which was technically the truth.
After a bit more convincing, he caved and told her to follow him, before descending into the Sewers.
She was thankful that Croc was one of the more reasonable of the Rouges, and that she had a good enough reputation that he managed to trust her.
So here she was, following Croc through his Territory under Gotham, about to meet this Ghost Entity she had been tracking for over a Month now.
After a long walk, they emerged into a relatively large Room. It seemed to be an abandoned Sewer Reservoir, one of those large Rooms you see on TV that's like a giant Whirpool that characters are always getting sucked into (she hadn't had much to do while stuck in the house okay? She had been watching a lot of TV recently), except it was completely Dry.
There were a few places around that were obviously set up like different rooms in a house. A bedroom, a kitchen, an old couch and a box TV set up in front of it, and so on. This seemed to be one of Crocs more lived-in homes, which spoke to the trust he was placing in her not revealing this place to the other Bats. She felt slightly honored at that thought.
He led her to a section of the Base slightly off to the side, a room that wasn't entirely visible from the Enterance.
He stopped her at the door and called into it. "Hey Keeper, there's someone here to see you."
Without waiting for a reply, he turned around and ushered her into the Room.
It looked like a typical Bedroom, an old wardrobe was set off to the side, one of the door having fallen off. Inside there weren't that many items, just a few shirts and some pants. Closer to the center of the room, there was a Table covered with various empty cans and utensils. On three walls there were various posters and drawing featuring stars and constellations, seemingly placed haphazardly around the room with no real pattern. Most importantly, there was a Bed in the Corner.
And on that bed, was the Entity she had been tracking. And he was just a Kid.
He looked just like a normal teenager, about the same age as her, but he had White Hair and Green Eyes. He was sitting in an upright position, probably having sat up to get a better look at his visitor, and she could see the mess of bandages on his body.
The freshest ones were obviously for the wounds that had gotten him put on bed rest, a strip of clean bandages covering his stomach, with a bulge above his lower left stomach showing where he had gotten shot by the GIW.
But the rest of them, the older ones, they covered his entire main body. The bandages where old and slightly dirty, but it was obvious they had been placed in a hurry.
She was so busy studying his wounds that she almost missed Croc introducing her.
"Orphan, this is Keeper. Keeper, this is Orphan." He told the boy, "She says she wants to help get rid of the GIW."
The boy merely glanced at her before directing his gaze to Croc. A static-like sound seemed to Emit from his form, like a Trill, but against all logic she seemed to understand what it meant.
Discontent. Wariness.
Croc seemed to understand it too, and said, "Keeper, she can help get rid of the GIW. Don't you want them gone?"
Another Static Trill. Uninterest. Indifferent. Resigned.
"You can't just give up like that! If you won't fight back for yourself, at least fight back for the sake of protecting the P-", he was cut off by a wave of Static.
Anger. Displeasure. Stop.
Croc stuttered a bit. "I-sorry Keeper, I didn't mean to- I-" He was cut off again.
Displeasure. Leave.
They got the hint. Leaving the room, and walking to the exit.
Cass made one final glance behind her, meeting his eyes through the open doorway. They were cold and lifeless voids, as if he had cut himself off from all emotion.
"Sorry 'bout this Orphan. Keeper needs help, but he doesn't think he deserves it." He told her as they walked back to the surface. "He's not in a good head space right now, hasn't been since me n' Grundy found him wandering the Sewers all those months ago."
She made a questioning sound, and he picked up her meaning quickly. "Grundy is out finding more space themed stuff for his Room. Said somethin' about needing to fill an Obsession, but can't really explain it more than that."
She nodded in understanding as they reached the Sewer Drain where they had first decended into his Territory. She climbed out, but gave a final goodbye to Croc as she left.
She pointed at herself, and said, "I. Come. Back. Soon."
He gave her a slight Nod, and she leaped away.
By the time she got back to her Room in the Manor, her mind was a raving.
She was dumbfounded. Cass had originally tracked him down to make sure her theory was right before reporting it to her Dad, so that the GIW would take him before leaving and not coming back. She was dead set on getting the GIW out of the City by turning whatever entity they were chasing in.
But every intention of reporting him had left her the moment she had seem him in person. He was just a kid, a teenager like her. He was so hurt he couldn't get out of his Bed, his body was covered in bandages from presumably previous encounters with the GIW, and he was resigned to his fate.
He didn't care if he lived or died. He was just fine with letting the GIW capture him and injure him again, but there was something he was protecting that made him keep going on.
She wanted to help him.
But it wasn't because she pitied him. It was because Keeper had such a familair expression on his face when she left. One she had seen in the mirror a thousand times before her Dad had taken her in. And she swore she wouldn't let another kid keep that same expression as long as she could help it.
But there was also something else. When he was talking to Croc, and Croc mentioned that she wanted to help get rid of the GIW, she saw something flicker in his eyes. Just for a moment.
And she might be wrong, but she thought she saw a flicker of Hope.

I smooshed these prompts together. I hope it is okay. I’m such a sucker for hot and heavy nonsense that leads to tender moments.
- - -
Even the blissfully bitter sounds of Rob Zombie couldn’t break this mood.
Jason yanked the scull mask off his head, suddenly feeling like he was suffocating underneath it. He slammed his fist into the brick wall behind him, glaring into the darkness. A delightful sensation of pain splintered up the length of his arm, and for three whole seconds he managed to do nothing but focus on the pain. For three whole seconds, he could forget about what happened, but then the pain ebbed and it all came crashing back to the forefront of his mind.
A mark gone disastrously bad. He’d nearly gotten himself killed, and worse, Bruce now knew he was alive. Fuck.
Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.
FUCK.
Jason sunk down on his haunches, staring out into the jagged lines of the city. He ripped out his earbuds, ending the growling noise of Dragula, and stood there, letting the sounds of the city consume him for a few minutes. He felt like he wanted to disappear and never exist again. His head fell into his hands and he let go of a sound that seemed to rattle every bone in his body. How in the world had this managed to go so horribly wrong? It was a standard mark, something stupid and easy, and yet...
And yet he’d royally fucked up. There was no coming back from this one. Jason ran his fingers through his hair and stood up, stepping closer to the edge of the roof. He could disappear if he wanted to, drop everything and leave. It would be easy to fade into nothing again, and Bruce wouldn’t be able to find him a third time. Jason could drop his name and run to another city, maybe another country. Maybe an island location this time. He could use the sun and sand after the dirt and grit of Gotham and Jump.
“You’re thinking so loud.”
Jason’s back stiffened, and his breath came out in one, short burst as something akin to comfort slid over his skin. He closed his eyes as let himself take a few seconds to soak up the feeling of her presence, reminding him that there was one really damn good reason not to leave…
“You’ve been prowling along this roof for an hour you know.” He heard her come up behind him, her steps almost silent on the tar-and-pebble roof. She pressed a hand to his back, avoiding a tender wound almost as if she knew it was there. “Even from three floors below, I can feel how tense you are-”
Jason’s shoulders tightened in shame. Right. Empath. He closed his eyes as he felt her step closer, invading his space so easily.
“-what’s got you all twisted up?” Her hand slid to his waist, her magic pulling pain out of another wound there. Jason felt a low groan escape, and he leaned into her touch. She was making him feel like maybe there was hope for him after all - that maybe he didn’t need to run. Raven stepped closer, and he smelled the scent of her shampoo and soft, supple leather. “Jason?”
Jason turned to look at her, and-
“Fuck.”
Her lips pulled back in a teasing smile. “I wondered how long it was going to take you to notice. I hope you don’t mind.”
Jason ground his teeth together, taking in the sight of her. It felt like miles of pale skin, stretched out for him and him alone. Raven had always been petite, a little sturdy in the shoulders and hips, but still somehow delicate. But now, looking at her dressed in nothing more than his leather jacket and a scrap of lace that barely passed as underwear, she looked like a temptation from the underworld itself. He felt his blood boil under his skin, practically vibrating.
Raven opened her mouth, presumably to say something snarky, but whatever was on her lips died as Jason pressed his lips against hers. His mind had always been a mess, filled with confusing thoughts and short-circuited ideas, remnants of anger and horrors left over from his dip The Pit, but the one constant - the one thing he knew he could count on without fail - was Raven. She made him feel like that even this world was messy, and even though he felt like he was breaking apart, he could hold himself together as long as she was by his side.
Jason pulled away, gasping as he backed her up against the wall. “Here.”
She lifted an eyebrow, but didn’t back down. If he pushed at her, she pushed right back. She moved to slide the jacket off her shoulders, but he stopped her with a touch of his hand.
“That stays. These, however…” Jason dug his fingers into the flimsy lace circling her hips and pulled, hearing the familiar sound of fabric ripping. He smirked and lifted the scrap of red up to her face before letting them drop onto the roof below them. “...have to go.”
Raven wrapped her arms around his shoulders and lifted herself up onto her toes, staring into his eyes. Her fingers curled into the dark strands of hair at the base of his neck and she leaned closer to him, so that he could feel the heat of her magic just underneath the surface. Jason stilled as she pressed the length of herself against him, it felt less like she was trying to turn him on, and more like she was giving herself to him.
“I’m giving myself to you, Jason. Whatever you need… take it from me.”
Her words held an odd kind of weight, like she was somehow giving him permission to feel something he wasn’t sure if he was ready to feel yet. His own mind stumbled, but Raven captured his lips in another searing kiss, flooding his senses with her. He closed his eyes and felt himself falling deeper and deeper into her darkness, letting everything but her disappear. Her magic slipped down the length of his spine, and Jason felt his whole body react. Heat poured into his body and he heard himself growled.
He lifted her up and slammed her against the wall, hearing her breath escape in one, rough gasp. Her eyes were wide, wild, and inviting, and Jason knew that he wanted to lose himself inside her. His hands hooked under her thighs and he freed his cock from his pants, not even bothering to undress any other part of him. He couldn’t wait any longer, not when she was like this - wearing his things and offering herself up like a sacrifice. He only knew he wanted to be closer to her, as close as he could get just so he could wash away the confusion inside himself. When he was with Raven he felt… safe. He felt more like himself than he did with anyone else.
Raven let go of a deep, grumpling moan as he entered her, her fingers pulling on his hair. She was wet, and had probably been playing with herself while he was gone. The thought of her in his favorite leather jacket, laying on his bed and fingering herself nearly made him come right then. If that was going to be a continuing thing, he should probably set up cameras, and knowing Raven, she’d definitely put on a show.
“Stop thinking about me mastrubating, and actually get to fucking me, Jason.” She pitched forward and caught his earlobe between her teeth, pulling hard. The pain went straight to his cock and he felt her tongue trace the red mark she had made. “If you want to be a voyeur, we’ll talk about it later. But right now, your girlfriend is very, very ready to come.”
Fuck.
He didn’t have to be told twice. Jason pinned her tight against the wall, and let his mind go gloriously blank as he fucked her hard and fast, angling his hips just the way she liked it. Her cries kept him pinned to this plane of existence, and he watched as Raven wore every emotion on her face, letting him consume her. He felt lost in her body, lost in the sensation, and it felt good to just be lost. It wasn’t until he came down from his high, and they were both gasping at the thick, cold air of the city in autumn, that Jason realized with stunning clarity how broken he felt.
Raven lifted her head to look at him, pushing a few damp locks of hair out of his eyes. Her fingers trailed along the curve of his jaw, her thumb brushing against the swell of his lower lip. She didn’t push him farther than that, only watched him for a long moment before she shakily untabled herself from him, and tried to stand on her feet. Jason smirked as she stumbled, but looked away when she started cursing under her breath. Maybe it was best if he didn’t tease her.
With a flick of her hand, she opened a portal into his apartment. “Let’s go inside.” She motioned for him to follow.
When they were both in the warmth of his apartment, Raven pulled the jacket from his shoulders and went to the drawer she kept in his room, pulling out a pair of soft cotton underwear before crawling into one of his sweatshirts. She padded softly to the living room and sat next to him on the sofa, letting a strange sort of tense silence settle over them again.
“So… let’s talk.”
His face fell, and he tilted his head to rest on the back of the sofa. He didn’t want to talk, not about what happened at least. “Can we get back to fucking? I’m good at that.”
“I won’t argue with that.” She hummed under her breath and turned back to him, the playful smirk on her lips disappearing. Her eyes seemed to easily pierce through the barriers he had created, as if she was stripping him of all of his armor and leaving him bare for her. “But I think you should at least talk to me about what happened tonight. You’ve got more wounds than normal, and something… something happened, didn’t it?”
“Bruce saw me tonight.” It hurt just to say it, and Jason winced, looking away. “Not Red X, but… me. Jason. I thought maybe it would be different, but he just stood there and stared at me like I was some kind of freak. Like I was something that didn’t exist. An abomination.”
“Jason, he buried you.” Raven cupped his cheek and forced him to look into her eyes. She didn’t judge him, only tried to help him understand. “He loves you. You were his son, and he watched you die. Watched your casket go into the earth. Of course he was upset and confused, just like you are right now. He probably hasn’t forgiven himself, and maybe he never will. And now a ghost has come back into his life and he hurts. He hurts the way you do.” She paused. “Your emotions are valid, and they are complicated because this whole situation is complicated. It’s okay to feel upset and angry, but don’t let it consume you.”
Jason closed his eyes and leaned into her touch. “I want to hate him. I want to hate him for everything - for not killing the Joker, for letting him go free, for…” For what? Jason wanted to be mad because Bruce didn’t avenge him? It wasn’t Bruce’s style, and Jason wanted to fault him for that, but he couldn’t.
“Don’t hold onto that anger forever, Jason. It doesn’t do you any good. It doesn’t fix what happened, and it doesn’t make you feel better. It doesn’t do anything but hold you back from healing.”
She pulled him closer to her, and they tipped lengthwise onto the sofa. Jason felt his chest tighten as if he was fighting back a surge of tears he’d stifled for years. Raven wrapped her arms around his back and pulled him tight against her as he buried his face into her chest. Her arms were warm, and she somehow felt bigger than she ever had before, holding him close as he tried to desperately sort through his feelings. He was confused and shattered in ways that made him feel irreparable, but Raven didn’t turn away. Not from him. And he shouldn’t turn away either.
“I’m tired.” Saying it made it feel like the world was resting on his shoulders. He was tired of fighting, tired of feeling, tired of being angry, and tired of running away from everything in his past. He was just so… so damn tired.
“I know you are.” Raven kissed the top of his head and pulled him even closer. “For right now, let’s just lay here. Let’s just stay here and be tired for a little bit longer.”
Jason let go of a soft sigh and nodded, his fingers tightening into the soft cotton of the sweater on her body. He was safe here, in the sanctuary of her arms.

Truth, Justice, and the Symbol of Peace.
Kyoto, Japan.
Fire.
All around him he felt the heat of the fire, the light of it bouncing in his peripherals. The flames seemed to tower above him, which was impressive given his height. High into the air, touching the tops of buildings the heat rose and masked all from his sight. The yelling was piercing through the wall of fire, screams for help as the back up heroes did their best to corral the citizens away from the encounter. The sky had turned dark and cloudy when he arrived, a hallmark of his style. First the ground shook, then the buildings fell. It was only with superspeed that he was able to save them all. They all shouted his name, called for him when there was trouble. He was…
“The symbol of peace? Please.”
All-Might stood not ten feet away from All For One. His business suit seemed immaculate as ever, his short silver hair swaying in the heat waves given off by the fire that now surrounds him. All-Might gripped his fists, his gold bracelets flexing on his arms. His red and white bodysuit had been torn, and his cape ripped to shreds, but he showed no injury.
“All for One..This is your last warning. Surrender now or feel the weight of your consequences! I am and will forever be the bastion of justice and freedom against your tyrannical desires! It is no use!”
All-Might shifted his stance, raising his fists to his face. The fire moved his long pointed bangs in its waves, and his glare could scare even the most hardened of thugs. All for One laughed. “Foolish to even suggest it, Toshinori. You will be taken care of easily, belief or not. The people do not have your back.” he made a sweeping gesture, opening the wall of fire for a reveal. Dozens of people were running away from villains, who were being fought by heroes in a vain attempt to stall while they escaped. All-Might did not move from his position, though his heart sank when the direness of the situation met him. Will I have the strength to do after all? Even if I defeat All for One, will I still be enough to fight everyone else? As the wall of flame closed again, All for One rose into the air and lifted his arms into a cackle, whirlwinds forming in his hands.
“It's become that time, Toshinori! I will finally defeat my brother, I will end One for All, and I will become what I set out to be!” With this, he pointed his open hands shot forth the powerful gusts of wind. With precision and speed, All-Might weaved to the side, wind-stepping with light force against the air, and delivered a punch into All For One’s face. He flew backwards into a crashed building, but soon shot out and landed a giant arm into the chest of All-Might, followed by headbutting him into the ground. He floated over him, using his telekinesis to lift a chunk of the ground, then throwing it on All-Might. He laughed as he kept dropping more and more pieces of debris onto the crater, throwing each down with malicious intent. After a minutes of piledriving into the ground, he stopped, heaving with breath. For a second, all was quiet. The flames crackled softly, the air did not move, the screaming had been drowned out by the earthquake levels of shaking left by All for One. Then, from the skies as if the heavens themselves sent it..
“MISSISSIPPI SMASH!”
All for One looked up in a flash but it was too late. All-Might was falling from the sky, fist extended, pushing through the dark clouds that hung over the world. It was all All for One could do to raise his defenses, but he could not raise them all. All-Might’s fist connected to All for One’s face, breaking the sound barrier. The shockwave turned buildings around them into rubble. The searing force of All-Might’s fist hitting skin had burned his skin beyond all recognition, and the pure concussive force had shattered his eye sockets and nose.
Dust flew in all directions, clearing all fires.
When it cleared, All-Might stood over All For One, fists raised, and began pummeling him. A hundred hits a minute, his body broken multiple times only to be healed the next second. Agonizing pain. The constant hits registered on the Richter scale a 2.3 earthquake, and a small tornado moved around All-Might as the friction of his punches against the air heated it against the otherwise cold front. The mind of All For One thought a mile of minute, trying to defend itself against the onslaught, until it thought of a solution. I will change the arm under myself into a spear, then in one quick movement stab him in his stomach. It will have to be quick, and it will be my only chance of escaping that gives me freedom.
Elsewhere, atop a nearby shattered building looking on, a cloud of a man in a black suit stand. In his mind, a single phrase repeated itself. I must save my master. Kurogiri watched the Symbol of Evil become more and more akin to the gravel he was being punched into, and began to develop a portal. One that would need to be quick, as he did not have much time. He would need concentration as well, or else consequences could be had. He began to focus, and as he did a portal slowly opened above All For One, unbeknownst All-Might.
All For One saw the beginnings of the portal and smirked internally, as his mouth was long since caved in by the fists of justice. He began to slowly reform his arm into a spear, then turned to shove it into All-Might’s stomach!
Or atleast, attempted to.
Back atop the ruined building where Kurogiri was making his portal, his concentration was broken by the slight tumbling of brick behind him. Then the boot to his face as Gran Torino flew into the face of Kurogiri. He fell to the floor, unconscious, but the portal still stood open! Gran Torino saw that the portal was starting to suck in the surroundings and shouted, “ALL-MIGHT! BEHIND YOU!”
All-Might turned his body, his torso narrowly missing the stab sent in by All For One. It did not matter though, as soon the force of the portal became too much for either to handle. All-Might stood his ground, refusing to be drawn into the tear in reality. However, All For One lept from the crater he had been beaten into and jeered at All-Might as he flew into the rip. “Goodbye, Symbol of Peace. My plans are not done!” As he disappeared into the portal, All-Might grimmaced. And in a split second decision…
“Toshinori! NO!” Gran Torino screamed as All-Might lept into the portal, which then closed with a shattering Snap!
Kyoto was quiet again, and all was uncertain. Where had the Symbol of Peace gone to?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Metropolis, Illinois.
“Clark, for the last time the answer is no! This scoop is dangerous and I don’t want you getting hurt.”
Lois Lane walked down the aisles of the Daily Planet offices, the sounds of typewriters firing off like machine guns. The only woman in the room it seemed, but she commanded the respect of everyone there. What she said usually went, at least in terms of who is getting the best stories to write. Tailing behind her was a large, but doltish and a bit clumsily dressed, man whose arms were wrapped around an overburdened folder. He fixed the glasses on his face, moving the curled hair out of the way. Clark Kent was as country-boy out of water as you could get.
“Lois that's exactly why I want to come! It's dangerous and, well, i’m kinda big. I think I can scare some people off!” Lois stopped in her tracks in between the cubicles, and turned around to face Clark Kent. Clark had faced off against the most terrifying men on earth and beyond it and had felt no fear. However in that moment, fear was a real thing.
Despite the height difference of about two feet, Lois had a commanding presence. Her eyebrows raised, her lips set up in a smug way, her jet black hair flowing behind her head, it gave an air of authority.
“Smallville, are you suggesting that you can take on the thugs of Gotham? You? Clark you fell up the stairs twice when the elevator broke last week. Every time there is a monster attack you run to the bathroom, or the nearest subway station, or whatever. Nothing against you but,” she raised her arms up to Clark’s shoulders and gave it a friendly pat, '' I'm just about as protected with you as I am with Jimmy.”
The redhead himself was walking by when she said that and shot her a glare, which she rolled her eyes over.
“Besides, its been very quiet around here recently. You always complain about the events here getting in the way of your work. A good long stint of nothing is more your speed. That's why i’m going to report on the new Robin in Gotham anyways.”
Clark groaned out loud, then firmly placed his falling-apart folder on his desk. “Lois,” he said while adjusting his glasses again, “don’t go talking about the quiet! It makes me jittery!”
She laughed. “Relax, Clark. Not like anything is going to happen by my saying.”
Right after her saying that, the building shook. The lights hanging above them flickered as dust fell from the ceiling. A few startled voices peppered the crowd of reporters, and a door flew open at the end of the hallway. Out stepped Perry White, editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet. He was already shouting orders. “I WANT TEAMS OUT ASAP! WE’RE GONNA GET THIS BEFORE THE ILLINOIS TIMES! I DON'T WANT TO BE SECOND PLACE AGAIN!”
The reporters began to collect their things, all grabbing the equipment , when Lois gave a loud whistle. Removing her hand from her mouth, “Guys! Wait a minute! This could just be a domestic issue! Like a pipe burst, or a plane hit the street or whatever. While I want to get there quick shouldn’t we be orderly about this?”
“Yeah,” Clark said, already eyeing up the employee bathroom, “we should just take a breather and look out the window maybe.”
He walked over to the large curtained office window and flung it open, looking down from the high skyscraper onto the street. There was a large crater, at the center of it was a man in a suit.
“There’s a guy in a crater. This might be interesting after all, but not warranting a full mobilization”
Then, shouting from the sky and falling at incredible speeds was a mass of red and white. As he passed the window Clark stood in front of, time slowed. He saw that he was huge, massive. Taller than him. His muscles rivaled Bane, his hair outrageous, a monstrous fist raised before him, and his gaze fierce. And he was screaming. A phrase so loud it shattered the window on his descent, and filled the ears of all present.
“DELAWARE SMASH!”
Seconds later, two shockwaves hit the building. One from the fall itself, the other from the punch hitting the ground beneath them. The building shook again, and Clark saw the same in other buildings around the Daily Planet. Perry White yelled from his office, “This urgent enough for ya? Now everyone, GET OUT THERE!”
Clark turned around, shouting out. “Lois! Be care-”
“Can’t right now Smallville,” she shouted back, grabbing her coat and reporting tools, “this is a great catch and i’m getting right on it! JIMMY! WITH ME LETS GO!” She ran out the door without even looking back, redhead cameraman in tow. Clark smirked. He loved her dedication. With everyone not looking, he jumped out the window.
“Pitiful.” Another Jet stream narrowly missed All-Might, as he maneuvered through the crowd moving people out the way as best he could from the destruction. All For One was slashing buildings and hurling debris into him, and it was all he could do to stop it from hitting the civilians. A rock thrown there, a hit All-Might had to take to keep a family safe. A car here, another hit.
All For One was laughing, or atleast the best he could given the shattering of his vocal chords.
“For the Symbol of Peace, you sure are being awful destructive today. Perhaps you want to change sides?” Another shot of the winds, shaving concrete off a building and sending into the eyes of All-Might as he stopped rebar from hitting a child. “Its time for us to end this squabble, once and for all!” At this, he clapped his hands and a shockwave exploded from him. All-Might dropped to his knees, shielding the group of kids he was protecting earlier. He did not notice the building falling towards him, and when he did it was too late. Thousands of tons of concrete fell onto him, covering him and the kids in debris. The explosion was immaculate, as was the silence that followed it.
When the dust cleared, those in the streets looked up in fear at the man in the black suit and burnt face floating above the destroyed building. He cackled, and dark clouds began to surround Metropolis. “AT LAST! I have defeated my adversary! Now, all shall know my power!”
“Not if I have anything to say about it.” All For One turned in an instant to see another man, clad in blue and red floating in the air. With a mighty blow of his breath, the dark clouds shot away like cotton candy in the wind. His huge arms were crossed over his chest, which was emblazoned in a bright red S. He turned into a crimson streak, racing across the air and into All For One, who went flying into collapsed rubble. As he shakily stood up, his suit now torn at the chest in the imprint of a fist slowly repairing itself, he glanced up to the skies. Through his powers he could still see, an dhw did not understand how he could have survived that.
“WHO DARES?” He raised his arms again and let loose a hardy right hook, but was deflected easily again onto his back. The sunlight cast beams around his body, the man floating above him. The voice sounded out again, in a voice that carried power. “I am the man who fights for Truth, Justice, and the American Way! And you impede on all of that right now.”
A voice calls out from the crowd, “GET HIM, SUPERMAN!” The onlookers begin to cheer.
All For One groans and he shakes his head. “Another deluded soul who believes himself to be the symbol of peace? A setback that cannot be tolerated.” He raised his hands again and lasers shot from them, grazing Superman’s shoulder as he dashed out of the way. “I can do the same thing, villain!” His eyes glowed red and out shot his own lasers, which cut a chunk of debris hanging above All For One. He dodged it, leaping for the ground next to him. Superman bolted down from his point in the air, landing a punch that was blocked at the last second by All For One. The two traded blows, dashing and trying to outmaneuver the other for what seemed like hours but was only minutes. The action captivated the audience, even the police who were trying to evacuate them.
However, All For One landed a blow that flew Superman backwards into a parked car and slumped him. The two hand traded blows so fast that it felt like days of effort between them, Superman not being prepared for this kind of fight could not keep up! The people looked on in shock as Superman was slumped against the car, making shallow breaths. They began to scream as All For One flew into the air once more. “If that is your greatest champion, then I am to be ruler certainly! Now then, attention all! You are now under the rule of ME! ALL FOR ONE!”
The crowds screamed and yelled and began running away, but soon giant rock pillars rose from the concrete. The peoples turned shocked and scared, as All For One cackled. “Now, now. You all cannot be going yet. I must make an example!” The walls started to move inwards, moving the people closer and closer. And as he kept laughing and laughing, someone from it yelled out.
“SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!”
“DO NOT WORRY!”
All For One stopped and turned his head in shock. He screamed, “NO! HOW?!”
All-Might stood atop the mountain of rubble that fell on him, the children he protected sitting at his feet unharmed. A smile was emblazoned across his face, and the sunlight shown upon him.
“WHY?! I AM HERE!”
He jumped from the rubble, fists raised, and punched All For One into the ground. While he was down, All-Might gave three punches to the rock walls he constructed, and yelled to the people within to get out. But as he was doing this, All For One stumbled to his feet and raised his arms again.
But was stopped when he felt a tapping on his shoulder. He turned around to see Superman’s fist shortly connect with his face. His body flew backwards into All-Might’s foot, which finally knocked the villain out on the ground.
The people cheered. All-Might turned to them, and struck a pose.
This is when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw Superman. His arms crossed, and looking quite angry. “Ah.” All-Might said sheepishly, “where are my manners. I am All-Might. Symbol of Peace.” He extended his hand. Superman did not take it.
“I am Superman. You’re coming with me. I have some questions.”

Laurel Lance was a powerful district attorney within Star City, a job she had well and truly earned through dedicating her life to her work but something which wasn’t very well known as Star City’s D.A. was that by night she was someone else entirely Black Canary.
Laurel had been a meta-human her entire life without knowledge of her special DNA until the day she learned her first love Oliver Queen and her sister Sara Lance died the day the Queen family’s boat Gambit crash and sunk within the sea which is when she released her first canary cry.
The joint death and betrayals from her lover and her sister could’ve sent Laurel down a wayward path but instead she chose a path of heroism as she became the Black Canary vowing to make sure her city was safe from any further tragedies knowing her city needed saving from its dark underworld.
Laurel’s younger brother chose a very different path to his sister following the deaths of Oliver Queen and Sara Lance. Laurel’s brother Lucas Lance struggled to cope with his sister Sara’s death especially after their father Quentin Lance passed away and decided to start impacting suffering on others instead of having to feel it himself therefore becoming Red Canary.
After one too many run ins with his older sister Lucas moved to Gotham City knowing he’d have more fun there torturing the bat family and making alliances with the likes of The Joker, Harley Quinn and Bane before being ran out of the city by the bat family not long after a brief stint in Arkham Asylum pushing him towards a reunion with his sister back in Star City where a years long feud would conclude in a very unexpected way forcing both Lucas and his sister Laurel to become allies in a very different world to which they were used to.
“Why couldn’t you just stay away?” The Black Canary asked her brother the Red Canary while the two stood in an alleyway within Star City as Red Canary snapped the neck of a random man before throwing his lifeless body to the ground.
“Gotham was fun and everything I just missed my big sister I mean sure Bats and his family of do goodies are a good challenge and everything, but nothing quite beats your own family you know what I mean.” Red Canary explained to his sister while walking towards her.
“I see you’re just as psychopathic as the last time I saw your crazy ass!” Black Canary snapped at her brother while the two began walking closer and closer towards each other. “I know my brother is still in there somewhere and I know you’re the last of my family, but I can’t let you harm anymore people.”
“I had a feeling you’d say that.” Red Canary replied as the brother and sister stopped walked as the brother and sister now stood in front of each other.
At the exact same time both Black Canary and Red Canary began to shriek releasing their sonic screams at the same time both screams in the direction of the others forcing windows, buildings and the earth itself to begin shaking underneath their feet as their screams grew louder and louder until they ripped open a dark red portal appearing in between the two of them much to their own shock as each found themselves stopping their canary cries to look on in shock.
They had each seen portals before to other worlds within the multiverse which they both knew existed but none quite like this but before they could properly examine the mysterious portal they both found themselves pulled flying into the red portal from different directions before the portal closed itself taking the Black Canary and the Red Canary to somewhere totally different to where either had ever been before.
The Black Canary and the Red Canary found themselves falling from the sky before crashing through a series of branches before eventually crash landing onto the grounds of the bayou within the city limits of New Orleans, as the two slowly raised to their feet they had no idea where they were world or city.
“What the hell just happened?” Black Canary asked her brother.
“I think we must’ve screamed ourselves a portal to somewhere...although I have no idea where.” Red Canary replied while looking around the bayou.
“Typical I tried to get rid of you once and for all and you pull me into another earth.” Black Canary snapped at him.
“Oh, please Dinah it took two cries for this to happen not just one.” Red Canary told her. “I know it’s easier for you to blame everything on me, but you fuck up just as me sis.”
“My name is Laurel.” Black Canary reminded her brother as she punched him across the face. “But it’s Black Canary to you jackass and I’m not your sister…not anymore!”
“Fine then get your own way home or not…Star City would be much more fun without you.” Red Canary replied before super speeding out of sight only to super speed back onto the same spot. “Okay that’s new…what the hell was that?”
“I guess this earth has different rules to the others.” Black Canary said before she super sped out of sight for a moment before returning to the same spot just like her brother just did. “I guess our meta-human abilities are different on this earth.”
“Cool,” Red Canary said with an excited smile on his face. “I wonder what else this earth has to offer.”
The Red Canary looked around the bayou for a moment before releasing his shriek causing his sonic scream in the process as his Black Canary cry grew louder and louder before the entire earth began shaking viciously as the wind grow more chaotic and trees began being pulled from their roots before flying and crashing into other trees the very earth itself rising as this part of bayou was left completely destroyed by his scream unearthing all dirt and destroying everything within distance before Red Canary stopped his scream.
“I guess we’re stronger in every way in this earth.” Black Canary stated while being left in shock by the carnage her brother had just created before the Red Canary super sped out of sight. “Which isn’t good for anyone on this earth with you on the loose.”
Laurel found herself back in normal clothes thanks to a quick stop/break in to a closed down clothes store on the outskirts of New Orleans managing to find something acceptable to wear before stealing a car and driving her way towards New Orleans.
She didn’t know much about this earth, but she knew if she could get to a city she could hold tight there why trying to work out if this earth’s versions of her allies could be trusted and if they couldn’t then she would just have to make New Orleans her base of operations until she worked out how to get home choosing not to think about the carnage her brother would cause in the meantime and Lucas was definitely living up to his reputation.
Just like his sister Lucas had found himself a change of clothes although he chose a much more violent approach in doing so as he attacked a man in a nearby bikers themed dive bar parking lot located within the outskirts of New Orleans knocking the man unconscious and stealing his clothes before walking into the bar for a drink expecting plenty of carnage to follow knowing by the end of first drink he was going to blow the roof of the dive bar.
It didn’t take Lucas long upon walking into this dive bar to notice that most of the people in there already didn’t like the look of him but it’s not like he cared in fact it just gave him more reason to kill them all not like he needed a reason.
“I’ll have a Pina Colada please,” Lucas ordered from the tall body builder-built bartender who laughed at his choice of drink. “Maybe you didn’t hear me the first time around…so I’ll get a little louder.”
Lucas released a canary cry aimed directly at the bartender’s forcing the bartender backwards before his entire head exploded with an explosion of blood which found itself falling on the counter and Lucas himself before the headless bartender’s body fell to the ground gushing out more blood onto the floor.
“Now is someone going to make me a god damn Pina Colada or am I going to have to kill every last one of use?” Lucas shouted to the entire bar who were shocked by his act of inhuman violence, demanding their attention. “Because honestly I do love my Pina Colada’s but killing everyone in here would give me just as much joy.”
Lucas did get his Pina Colada after a few more canary cries killing half of the people in the bar only to thank the survivors by using his enhanced canary cry to turn the bar into nothing but rubble after finishing his drink only to walk out of the rubble beyond happy with himself knowing the carnage he created as he began to love this new world he had found himself in and began feeling invincible even to the likes of a certain bat family.
Several Days Later
Rebekah Mikaelson had agreed to accompany Marcel Gerard back to New Orleans as she tried her best to convince him to give up his ties to the city forever so the two could start a new life together knowing her family couldn’t intervene due to the fact neither Rebekah, Klaus, Elijah or Kol could be anywhere near each other without the hollow which was within the four original vampires trying to escape and find it’s way back to possessing Rebekah’s niece Hope which neither she, her brothers Kol or Elijah, her mother Hayley Marshall and especially her father Klaus would dread.
So with her brothers especially Klaus no longer having control over her life or threatening to murder yet another lover Rebekah was determined it was time for her to finally have the life she had always dreamed of one filled with love, laughter and the possibility of children however she knew if she was to have it with the upgraded original Marcel then he had to give up on New Orleans a city she was once it’s queen.
This particular visit to New Orleans didn’t end well for her as the girl who fell in love too easily once again found herself drowning her sorrows within Rousseau's following heartbreak as she called time on her relationship with Marcel following his refusal to give up on New Orleans and her refusal to give up on getting him to give up on the city.
“Well if it isn’t Rebekah Mikaelson what has it been 5, 6 years since you came anywhere near New Orleans?” Hayley said after vamp speeding herself into the bar to stand next to the original woman vampire.
“Well if it isn’t my brother’s baby mama Hayley Marshall.” Rebekah replied as she stood up and hugged her friend. “What can I say New Orleans just doesn’t have the same appeal as it used to.”
“Yeah I must admit it’s a lot quieter in this city since you and your siblings left…how is Elijah?” Hayley asked her.
“Last time I heard he was a pianist in a delightful bar somewhere in France I may have visited him once or twice from a distant of course over the years. He seems happy the lucky sod doesn’t remember any of us.” Rebekah revealed to the mother of her niece.
“I hope he gets to live a peaceful life at least one of us should.” Hayley told Rebekah. “I guess by the fact you’re here means Marcel’s back in town too?”
“Yeah and he’s going to be staying here.” Rebekah admitted as she sat back down at the bar and ushered the bartender to fill up her glass. “I however intend to get out of here as quickly as possible.”
“Oh, I see I guess he made the wrong choice then if it helps any, I’d choose you over a city any day.” Hayley said, trying to reassure her friend as she sat down at the bar next to her. “Anybody not willing to give up everything to be by your side is a fool and we’ve both been with too many fools to suffer any more of them.”
“You are as always correct,” Rebekah laughed as she downed her drink in one go. “Tell me where I can find my sister Freya is, she still staying at the compound with you?”
“Yes and she’s still pretty relentless in finding a way of removing the hollow but getting nowhere although she’s getting somewhere in her personal life as Keelin’s moved in too between them and Hope when she’s on holiday from the Salvatore Boarding School the compound still has some life left in it.” Hayley replied while ushering the bartender to get her and Rebekah drinks. “Have you heard from Klaus? Hope really hears from him and even when she does it’s a card or present on special occasions and I’m growing quite sick of him not being a part of her life I mean sure he can’t be in the same place as here but picking up a phone isn’t the hardest thing in the world I mean at this point even Kol keeps in contact with Hope more.”
“Niklaus is a stubborn old fool at the best of times I don’t think he’s taken this whole separation thing too well I’ve not heard from him or seen him since the day we took in the hollow he’s cut off ties from us all.” Rebekah told Hayley. “Kol’s the only brother I actually hear from and all he ever wants to talk about is his broken heart over Davina…I guess she really is Marcel’s daughter after all.”
After a few drinks in Rousseau’s with Hayley, Rebekah decided to take it to the streets to get her next drink although this one was admittedly bloodier as she found herself in a nearby alleyway fangs deep into a compelled woman until suddenly she heard a piercing scream which was met by a gust of wind sending the original female vampire flying across the air before hitting the ground breaking her compulsion on her victim at the same time who began running away as Black Canary dropped from the sky landing on both feet.
“Since when did witches start wearing masks?” Rebekah asked her as she rose back to her feet. “Oh well that doesn’t really matter since I’m about to kill you.”
Rebekah vamp sped hallway towards the Black Canary before the Black Canary let out her canary cry once more causing the entire alleyway to shake by the vibration of her powerful scream as Rebekah was put to a halt unable to move further as the scream grew louder in her ears until the force of it made her drop to her knees as blood began pouring from her eyes and ears before the Black Canary stop her canary cry and began to walk towards the original female vampire.
“Vampires are different here although it makes sense considering I’m different here too.” The Black Canary told Rebekah as she continued walking towards the original female vampire who was severely weakened by her canary cry. “Doesn’t seem to be any heroes around here however, maybe that’s why I’m here.”
“Who the bloody hell are you?” Rebekah asked the masked vigilante in between her groans of pain.
“I’m the Black Canary and I’m here to save this city heck I’m here to save this world.” Black Canary declared before releasing another canary cry this time directly aimed at the original female vampire’s head, her cry growing louder and louder until Rebekah’s head exploded in a burst of blood and guts which is when the canary cry ended. “Guess decapitation still works for vampirism in this bloody earth…hmm Earth Blood welcome to Earth Blood Laurel Lance.”
The Black Canary wasn’t the only Canary who had worked out this world played by different rules bloodier rules than any earth he had been to before but unlike the Black Canary the Red Canary loved the violence in this world with no heroes to get in his way or at least that’s what he thought until his latest act of terrorism on a little magic shop had him coming face to face with the self-proclaimed king of New Orleans himself Marcel Gerard.
“You’re going to want to let that witch go before you piss me right off!” Marcel warned the Red Canary after vamp speeding his way into the magic shop within the French Quarter of New Orleans to find the Red Canary choking the store owner.
“And just when I was starting to have my fun.” The Red Canary replied before snapping the store owner’s neck, throwing her body to the ground and turning to face the upgraded original. “Please don’t tell me you’re this city’s hero where’s your mask?”
“I think the better question is why are you dressed up like some bad BDSM Halloween combo?” Marcel asked the Red Canary while looking his red leather jacket, trousers and mask up and down before laughing at his look.
“Okay now you’ve pissed me off.” The Red Canary stated before super speeding over to Marcel and punching him across the face.
Marcel vamp sped a punch in the canary’s direction only for the Red Canary to block his punch before kneeing Marcel in the stomach and headbutting the vampire once more before kicking him to the ground.
“This city’s answer to a hero is a vampire,” The Red Canary scoffed. “I guess I’ll call this earth: Earth Blood.”
Marcel vamp sped his leg to trip the Canary up before throwing himself on top of The Red Canary and pinning him to the ground.
“What the hell are you?” Marcel shouted at him, while keeping the canary trapped under him.
The Red Canary released his canary cry straight upwards towards Marcel who due to him being so close to the canary felt the full pain of the canary’s cry as it grew louder and louder until Marcel’s head exploded within a burst of blood that completely covered the Red Canary’s face and body.
“Ugh, yup Earth Blood really does fit this place.” The Red Canary mumbled to himself as he threw Marcel’s headless body of him, throwing it across the shop floor and getting back to his feet. “I guess this means this city’s mine now.”
“Yeah I wouldn’t get too ahead of yourself there his head grows back and when it does, he’s going to be super pissed.” Hayley revealed to him after vamp speeding into the store. “No matter how cool it was your days are now limited after pissing off my friend the only reason I’m even here to warn you is because I really want to know what the hell is with your red leather style?”
“Why do people keep asking me that?” The Red Canary snapped at her. “Does nobody hide their identity in this world? Seems highly idiotic to me but hey that’s not my business.”
“What do you mean by this world?” Hayley asked him.
“What do you mean by his head grows back I thought he was a vampire? Only person I know whose head grows back is clay face and this really annoying elongated guy.” The Red Canary replied with another question.
“Okay you’re just giving me more questions, why don’t you try answering some before his head grows back and your too dead to talk to me.” Hayley snapped at the Red Canary.
“Hmm so this guy is really hard to stay dead you say?” The Red Canary said with a twisted sense of intrigue while walking towards the headless body of Marcel Gerard. “Means I get to keep killing him over and over again.”
“What have you got against him anyway? I know he has a thing for pissing people but the same could be said about anyone from around here.” Hayley asked, determined to get some answer from the mysterious masked vigilante.
“He just got in my way is all kind of like you are now.” The Red Canary replied before turning to walk towards Hayley only to be stopped by The Black Canary who super sped her way into the store and in between her brother and the original baby mama.
“We need to talk now!” The Black Canary snapped at her little brother before grabbing him and super speeding out of sight with him.
“Oh, great there’s two of them,” Hayley sighed as she pulled out her phone and dialed Rebekah’s number only for it to go to the answer machine leaving her no choice but to call Klaus whose phone also went to the answer machine but this time she decided to leave a message. “Klaus I know you listen to these so listen up there’s two god knows what arrived in New Orleans and one of them alone took down Marcel without any trouble I don’t know who they are or what they want but my guess is probably you so you should get to New Orleans and fix this mess before Hope comes home for the holidays.”
“So, I’ve got myself a bloody sore headache thanks to some bitch witch in a mask, but I think she did something else and I need you to check for me.” Rebekah told Freya after vamp speeding into her room in the compound to find her sister sitting on the edge of her bed reading a book.
“Hello sister nice to see you again too.” Freya greeted her younger sister as she placed the book on her bed and stood up to face the original female vampire.
“Sorry sister I’m beyond happy to get to see you again.” Rebekah said as she walked over and briefly hugged Freya. “Now can we get to this masked witch who blew my head up.”
“There’s two of them.” Hayley revealed after vamp speeding into the room. “One man and one woman but I don’t think their witches or at least not just witches.”
“I guess you encountered them too but here’s the thing despite the rudeness of having my head explode on me and having to grow it back giving me one hell of a headache they could come in useful.” Rebekah replied to Hayley.
“I’m glad we’re not jumping straight to bloodshed well more confused than glad how can these maybe witches come in useful?” Freya asked her sister.
“Well that’s where I need you to check for me the thing is after the literal scream from hell which blew my head right off the bloody witch may have done something right.” Rebekah revealed to them both. “I think that scream destroyed the part of the hollow inside of me which means if it did…”
“Then we have just got to make one of them do the same three more times and we finally get rid of the hollow pending of course if we can convince Marcel not to kill one or both of them beforehand.” Haley answered.
“Pending of course if the part of the hollow inside you has been destroyed which seems unlikely considering we’ve literally tried everything.” Freya stated, making clear her disbelief of a sudden cure to her family’s dire situation.
“That’s exactly why you’re going to get your witch on and tell me if I’m finally free from this bloody witch or not because if I am I’m heading to Mystic Falls to see a certain niece of mine face to face for the first time in half a decade.” Rebekah demanded.
“Look my darling sister I get this world is new and anything but I’m still playing by the same rules.” The Red Canary told his sister as the two of them stood within an abandoned building near the docks of New Orleans.
“If you put your stupid pride to one side for a minute then you would realize this earth is unlike any other there’s no doppelgangers no Star City no Gotham City nothing that is on any other earth it’s like we along with everybody we ever knew doesn’t exist here.” The Black Canary informed her brother.
“This world just keeps getting better,” The Red Canary said with a sinister smirk. “No Batman or bat family no Joker or Harley nobody gunning for me except a restorative vampire and you.”
“Okay you realize that’s not a good thing, right? We have no ideas of the dangers of this world…what do you mean by restorative vampire?” The Black Canary questioned him.
“Apparently the vampire I took down today can grow back his own head which I was about to see for myself until you took me to this hell hole which is so like you always going out of your way to spoil my fun!” The Red Canary moaned at his sister.
“Listen you idiot if we don’t tackle this cautiously then we could wind up dead very quickly now what the hell do you mean by restorative vampire?” She snapped at her brother, sick of him not taking their situation seriously.
“Wow you’re really scared, aren’t you?” The Red Canary scoffed. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you scared before. That vampire I left headless back at the store according to the she-vamp who was also there his head’s going to grow back.”
“How many special vampires are there in this city because I may have blown a head or two off myself?” The Black Canary wondered.
“Who knows probably a few…you’re really worried about not getting out of here aren’t you?” The Red Canary questioned his sister.
“I guess she’s the brains of this little two masked vigilante operation.” Marcel said to the Red Canary after vamp speeding into the abandoned warehouse. “Unlike you.”
“I don’t know if we’re calling anyone stupid it should be the one who came to find two canaries alone when one canary already took them down by themselves.” The Red Canary tormented the upgraded original.
“Speak for yourself I’m not helping you for all I know this guy could be innocent and has every right of killing you!” Black Canary snapped at her brother.
“Two canaries got us here maybe only two canaries can get us home.” Red Canary replied to his sister, twisting her arm to convince her to help him
“What the hell is a canary other than the bird of course?” Marcel asked them both as The Black Canary looked at her brother, clearly frustrated to be forced into taking her brother’s side before the Black Canary and the Red Canary released their canary cries at the same time forcing the whole building to shake viciously before the ground beneath them and the roof above them began to collapse into itself.
Marcel tried to vamp speed towards them both but it was taking at his strength just to stand still where he was without being thrown across the warehouse as his ears and eyes began to bleed as he began coughing up blood and fell to his knees as the canary cries grew louder and louder.
“Stop!” Rebekah screamed as she sped into the crumbling warehouse vamp style, stopping the two canaries crying at the same time. “We want to offer you both a deal pending of course you stop trying to kill us both.”
“Yeah not interested.” The Red Canary stated before super speeding out of the still crumbling warehouse, as Rebekah helped an injured Marcel to his feet.
“What kind of deal?” The Black Canary asked the original female vampire, eager to find any ally she could trust more than her brother.
Klaus Mikaelson hadn’t been back to the city he called home since he was forced to say goodbye to the hollow following the spell Vincent Griffiths cast to expel the hollow from his daughter Hope and store parts of it in him, his sister Rebekah and his brothers Elijah and Kol and a part of him wondered if he’d ever return to New Orleans over the years but all that changed when he listened to his baby mother Hayley Marshall’s voice message and the several later left by Rebekah who promised a way to get rid of the hollow forever.
For over half a decade Klaus had lost hope in ever seeing his sisters, brothers or daughter even again but now he had finally been given a chance at reuniting his beloved family and he was heading home to do just that not allowing anything to get in his way and god help anyone who wasn’t cooperative with the original hybrid’s plan.

Universe Jumping: Gotham - OCs Fanfiction
It was a quite night in Gotham… Well, as quiet as Gotham can be, anyway.
There was the usual hustle and bustle of cars honking, people partying the night away and the occasional gunshots, as familiar in that city as the stone gargoyles that adorned the buildings. But the Joker wasn’t spreading canisters of Laughing Gas throughout the city; Two-Face wasn’t off on some duality themed robbing spree and Poison Ivy didn’t have an army of love struck folks running around and destroying every can of bug spray in the area.
One of the particularly quiet places was Robinson Street, a short little street made entirely of cheap, rundown apartment buildings. The cement pavement was cracked and dirty, some of the walls were covered with graffiti and streetlights were specked evenly along both sides of it. All in all, it was an entirely unremarkable and typical Gotham Street. It just so happened that that night was a remarkably atypical night.
The signs that something was off in Robinson Street were hardly noticeable if you weren’t paying attention. The streetlights flickered with increasing speed and intensity; if you happened to touch some of the metal trashcans outside, you might get shocked; and the animals were restless, sensing the coming changes.
Really, the first noticeable warning came just before it started. At two in the morning, with no living soul around, a single, short and quick spark of red lightning came out of nowhere between two lampposts on the left side of the street, hitting one of them and blowing its bulb, sparks shooting out everywhere. About two minutes later, the same thing happened again. Then again, one minute later. Then 30 seconds later. Eventually, multiple red sparks were buzzing around the street, always shooting from between the same two lampposts. The sparks buzzed and buzzed until the air from which they shot out seemed to shift and changed, almost as if it was trying to open itself up. It stretched and crinkled, more and more, until a sound no one could ever quite describe was heard and a perfectly round circle of light appeared, in between the two lampposts.
It hung in the air for a few minutes, held by nothing, and perfectly out of place in the dark corners of Gotham, until something emerged from it. A single left foot, dressed in a black sock and a black left running shoe (for, after all, the right didn’t fit it) took a tentative and careful step out, moving slowly forward and showing that it was not alone but, in fact, came attached to a leg, dressed in black suit pants. The foot kept pushing forward until it finally touched the ground, tapping lightly to make sure it couldn’t lose its footing. It retreated carefully, but quickly (along with the leg, which went first) and was quickly replaced by a face, which also moved rather cautiously. First came the nose, then the glasses, than the rest of the thing. It looked around carefully, making sure there were no threats, and, sufficiently satisfied, left the portal with confidence, dragging the rest of the body it was attached to forward.
This particular body belonged to a man named Tony, who was tall, a little chubby, bearded and with some noticeable hair loss. He was wearing black rimmed glasses, a t-shirt with some sort of obscure reference, a long, black overcoat, the aforementioned pants and shoes, and, most strangely of all, a multi colored, 4 meter long scarf.
Tony took a few steps away from the portal and looked around, with the sort of face that expressed abundant cleverness and confidence, even if he didn’t exactly have either of those things at that particular moment. After giving a quick visual inspection at the buildings and lampposts around him, he pulled out a curious looking device similar to one of those credit card things you find at stores from his pocket. He pushed a few buttons on it and after hearing a satisfying little “ding”, turned toward the portal.
“You can come out!” he screamed “It’s safe!”
“Are you sure?” a female voice on the other side said. It sounded a little garbled, like it was being spoken through a walk talkie “It might be a trap. You might have landed in trap world.”
“You do know what trap means, right?”
“Something meant to trick and kill us?”
“No, it’s what we call guys who look like girls. They’re traps, y’see. I’ll send you some pictures later. Anyway, since there are no impossibly pretty girls with miniskirts running around, I suggest you get in here.”
Tony looked at the portal for a few minutes when, at last, a female figure emerged. Júlia was her name and she was wearing some fashionable sneakers, blue denim jeans, a Miraculous Ladybug t-shirt, a comfortable looking teddy coat and had a backpack strapped on her shoulders. She was short-ish, also wore glasses and had her striking light brown hair tied up in a ponytail.
“Very sporty” commented Tony “Almost draws the attention away from your caterpillar-like eyebrows.”
Júlia gave him an annoyed gazed in response. “Well, at least my clothes fit me properly. This world better have a lot of danger, cause you certainly need the exercise.” She tapped Tony on his belly.
“Pfff. I look great.” He self-consciously closed his jacket, while keeping his proud look “Anyway, the Dimensional Transporter will take a few days to recharge, so let’s try and figure out where we are. Care to take a guess?”
“Hmm…” She held her chin with her right hand and stepped to the middle of the road, looking around. “Well… It’s a city. A big one, by the looks of it. Very New York-ish. Meaning we could be anywhere from Friends to Escape from New York.”
“Let’s hope it’s neither.” Tony said as his fingers tapped the little device and stepped next to her “Unless I get to threeway Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox.”
“Did you start this whole thing, just so you could fuck characters?”
Tony stopped tapping and arched his eyebrows ponderously “Not just because of that”
Júlia sighed, while Tony tapped a bit more and looked intently at the screen “Well, according to the Atmospheric Analyzer, there are no deadly toxins in the air, the water is clean and, by all accounts, this is just like any other city back on our world.” He put the Analyzer back in his pocket and pattered around a bit “I’ve been meaning to find out whether this thing takes us to every fictional world or if it’s just the ones we’re particularly interested in. For all we know, we might be in some cheap romantic comedy.”
He twirled around, amazed at how cool his overcoat looked in the breeze and how fun it was to see his giant scarf, flip flopping around “We might just see a third grade actress walk across that street and bump into some third grade actor, their eyes meeting and the spark of predictably insipid romance is set.”
“Has anyone ever told you, you have a particular knack for taking the fun out of everything?” said Júlia, her eyes rolling so hard, they might’ve actually made a sound.
“Not today, but it’s still early.” Casually, Tony glanced at the sky, and his eyebrows once again shot up “Ah. I think I know where we are now.”
“Where?” But instead of an answer, Tony merely pointed a finger at the sky, and as Júlia looked she instantly realized where they had landed.
That night was cloudy, and on the grey clouds above their heads was projected the shining image of a giant bat.
“Well… The DC Universe… Or perhaps just Gotham. It’s hard to guess at this point, but what say you we take a look-” However, Tony realized he was talking to himself, as Júlia had made a straight run towards the nearest alley she could find on Robinson Street “HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!”
Júlia looked back and breathlessly answered “To… an… alley…way.”
Tony went after her, catching up when she stopped, far into the alley, to catch her breath. “Why… did…” he said, realizing now that maybe the gym does have its uses “…you… come… here?”
“Because… Because that’s where crime happens in Gotham.”
“Wha… What?”
“Yeah! Don’t you know? Innocent people walking down an alley in Gotham City, a mugger pulls up, and what happens?”
“They get robbed and killed?”
“No, dummy. Batman saves them! Or some Bat related character.”
“So, you want to get robbed, in the hopes of meeting Batman? What if you get killed for real?”
“Pff” Júlia waved him away “When has that ever happened in Gotham?”
“Like all the time! That’s literally the reason Batman exists!” Tony answered, gesticulating wildly
“Ah, we’ll be fine. Come on, let’s keep going, see if anyone’s lurking around.” she answered, as she casually strolled deeper into the dark, empty and quiet backstreet that led off the alley. Tony sighed but dutifully went after her.
“This just seems like a really bad idea, Júlia. I’m just saying.”
“Yeah, well, you’re not the boss of me.”
“I made most of the machine that allowed you to get here.”
“But I helped you build it. So, I own like 40% of ownership.”
“That’s not how that works.”
“Oh, whatever. You just wanna boss me around, cause you wanna act like The Doctor.”
“I… What are you talking about?” said Tony, plunging his hands deeper into his pockets and turning his face away from Júlia.
“Come off it. Magical machine that takes people places? Invites one special girl? Makes a lot of jokes? You’re even dressed like him! I mean-”
But Júlia couldn’t finish what she meant, because from one of the many shadows that consumed the alley came a man holding a revolver. He looked disheveled and dirty, a tattered and filthy shirt hanging loosely in his body, a green coat that seemed to be made out of the skin of an old couch, fingerless brown gloves and a patchwork ascot. In his hand, he held a black six shooter revolver, a relic that seemingly jumped from its original time straight to modern day.
“Gimme all your money” mumbled the dirty thief, waving his revolver in Tony’s and Júlia’s direction.
Júlia shifted a little, retreating behind Tony with the intent of using him as meat shield, while Tony slowly put his hands up as the thief moved closer.
“Now, now… We don’t need any of that…” assured Tony, as he stared at the gun with widened eyes “Say… That seems like a very anachronistic gun, for the time we come from… Can you tell us what year it is?”
The thief’s face contorted into an expression of confused anger, and he waved the gun more fiercely “Now, listen here! Don’t try to… to… patronize me! I’m holding the gun! And I say that you should give me your money! NOW!”
“I… uh… don’t have any money” muttered Tony, fearful and a little embarrassed. After all, it’s probably bad manners to get robbed and not have any money to give.
Confusion had left the thief’s face by this point, but the anger had stayed firmly in place. He held the gun with a tight grip and pointed it straight at Tony’s face. Tony did his best to keep Júlia behind him, and closed his eyes, as he heard the squeeze on the gun’s trigger, expecting that all familiar sound.
KAPOW
“Kapow?” he thought, opening his eyes.
From the pointy ears, to the cape, to the outside underpants, everything about him screamed “I’M BATMAN”. He had come from above, all “I am the night”, and kicked the robber in the face, knocking him against the brick wall. The robber’s head hit the wall, knocking him out.
Batman looked at Tony and Júlia, efficiently checking to see if they had any bruises or needed any medical help. After realizing they were ok, he shot out his Bat Grappler, intent on continuing the night’s patrol and, had these been the regular type of people he usually deals with, that’s what would’ve happened. Except…
“WAIT BRUCE STOP!” yelled Tony suddenly.
Batman almost slipped from his Bat Grapple in shock. He quickly composed himself and, rather swiftly, pushed Tony against a wall, as Júlia watched in shock.
“WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?” yelled Batman, his forearm pressing hard on Tony’s throat.
“I…” Tony tried to gasp his explanations through a squeezed throat “We… Different… Universe… Júlia…”
“Don’t look at me, man! Who told you it was a good idea to antagonize Batman?”
“I want answers.” Batman was getting annoyed at his lack of progress “NOW!”
“We’re from a different universe where you’re a comic book character, Bruce!” answered Júlia, pulling some courage from place she didn’t quite know she had “We found a way to travel here and… uh… we… uh… want to visit the place. And meet some heroes.”
Júlia pointed at Batman awkwardly, as if trying to remind him that he’s a superhero “Like you. Or Jason” Batman scowl deepened and Júlia’s voice fell a couple of notches “Or you. Y’know. Whoever.”
Batman looked at Tony for a little while more, before dropping him. As Tony wheezed and Júlia leaned down to see if he was ok, Batman started asking questions.
“What do you want from me?”
“We want to spend time with you.” answered Júlia, as Tony composed himself “and the other superheroes also.”
“Yeah” continued Tony “and you’re actually the perfect person to help us, since you’re so paranoid and shit, which means you know everyone.”
Batman considered this “What reason would I have to help you?”
“We know the secret identities of basically every single superhero on this planet, as well as the place where they live and their supporting cast/ loved ones.” Answered Tony, as he got up
Batman quickly turned around, with a powerful rage on his face “Are you threatening me?”
“No, no! I’m just saying… uh…” Tony really hadn’t thought that threatening Batman was a good idea and he was desperately trying to back out “Look, man, we just want to meet some people and you have more money than God. Can’t we work something out? Can’t you call out the Batmobile, take us to Wayne Manor and we can talk about it?”
Batman looked at them, pondering. They were both scared out of their minds that Batman would just punch them until they got out of his universe but, surprisingly, he got a little bat shaped remote and pressed one of the buttons. The remote made a quiet beep and, soon after, Batman started to walk out of the alley. Not knowing what to do, Tony and Júlia followed, keeping a safe distance from the Dark Knight.
As they reached the place through which they entered the alley, they quickly realized what the remote had called. In front of them, roared the Batmobile, sleek, black and with a big bat face in the front. Batman clicked another button on the remote, and the roof of the car slid back revealing four seats inside. He jumped inside into the driver’s seat, and our duo awkwardly got over the side of the car to get inside, because the Batmobile didn’t actually have doors. Once they were inside, Bruce closed the top and got the car moving at ridiculous speed.
Júlia was internally freaking out about being in the Batmobile (and, weirdly enough, admiring the comfortable leather seats), while Tony pulled out a notebook and pen, and started asking Batman some questions.
“So, the first thing we want to establish is what version of your universe we’re in.”
“Version?”
“In our universe, you’ve been adapted from a full universe of comic books, to movies, to cartoons, to video games, etc. So, we need to figure out where we are.”
“Alright.”
“Cool. So, who is Batgirl right now?”
Batman looked stiff and unresponsive
“We know it’s either Barbara, Cassie or Steph.” said Júlia “So you can just come out and say it.”
Batman stayed quiet for a bit “Stephanie.”
Tony jotted a few things down “That’s… interesting. And weird, since it’s not current.”
“Current?” asked Batman
“I can’t tell you, sorry. Unless… Say, Batman, have you ever heard of something called the Flashpoint?”
“Yes. It was something that happened to the Flash, some time ago.”
Tony raised his eyebrows “He gave you a letter from your alternate reality dad?”
“Yes.”
“What were you wearing?”
Batman didn’t flinch, but his voice and general stiffness betrayed a certain amount of surprise “What?”
“What version of your costume?”
“Tony, where are you going with this?” asked Júlia
“Just trust me on this.” he answered before turning his attention back to Batman “Let me clarify: At that point, did you costume not have the briefs on the outside, and did it have some weird lines running through it?”
Batman remained quiet for a bit, before answering “No.”
Tony looked at his notebook, inquisitively. “This is weird… This is really very, very weird. Can I ask who the Teen Titans are at the current time?”
“Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Supergirl, Batgirl and Blue Beetle.”
Tony’s eyes widened in surprise. “Ho ho… Well… I’ll say this is… Intriguing”
Júlia nudged Tony “What are you talking about?”
“Well Júlia, if I understand this correctly, and I’m fairly certain I do, I think we’re in a version of the DC Universe where the New 52 never happened.”
“What do you mean never happened? Like… None of it?”
“Well, maybe a few plots here and there… Hey, Batman, did you fight the Court of Owls at any point?”
Batman considered. “Yes. Some time ago.”
“Well, there we are. I’d say that wraps-”
Suddenly, the Batmobile came to a sudden stop, knocking Tony and Júlia forward.
“What-” asked Júlia, but Batman interrupted.
“Gotham’s first national bank is getting robbed right now by the Riddler. You two stay here, I’m going inside.”
He popped open the roof of the car and left, leaving the two travelers sitting there, stunned.
Júlia looked around the car. There were all sorts of buttons and levers on the dashboard, but at her feet was some sort of compartment. She popped it open, and inside found a couple of Batarangs, a grapple gun and a Bat Taser Gun. She looked at Tony, and found him staring at the weapons, wide eyed.
“Should we?” asked Júlia.
Before he could answer, both of them heard the sound of broken glass, as the Riddler left the bank through the back.
“Riddle me this! What’s bad as a bat and covered in bruises?” said Nygma, his Bowler Hat slightly askew on his head “The Batman after my henchmen are done with him!”
As he headed out with his henchman, he found himself stopped by two 20 something young adults, wielding weapons.
“Freeze!” said the man, with one of Batman’s grapple guns.
“Yeah” said the woman, wielding a kind of gun shaped apparatus with electricity at the end. “What he said!”
“Hmmm…” said the Riddler “And who might you two be?”
“We’re-uh…” the man thought for a bit “Friends of Batman?”
“The Bat doesn’t have any friends. And if he did I doubt he’d pick such... Riddle me this, what has funny accent, a gigantic ass and two caterpillars instead of eyebrows?”
Júlia blushed heavily and looked down, embarrassed.
“Riddle me this, what’s balding, masturbates far too frequently and sweats like he’s running a marathon when he’s sitting down?”
Tony also blushed (and started sweating) but he answered back “Wow Nygma, you’re a dick. I have literally zero problems with what we’re about to do. Júlia, hit him.”
Júlia, getting over her embarrassment, pressed the trigger on her gun, and shot Riddler with an electric shock straight to the private parts. He fell, in pain, to his knees. Then Tony shot the grappler gun at him, and watched it tie around him. Soon, Batman came from above, gliding down on his cape.
“Hey, we took care of this Bat Boy.” said Tony “No worries.”
As they walked back to the car, Júlia asked “Hey… Do my eyebrows really look like Caterpillars?”
“If they do, they’re the loveliest caterpillars ever.” answered Tony.
“Thanks.” Said Júlia, slightly happier “By the way, the bald look works well on you.”
Tony smiled at her and sat back on the Batmobile, as they both waited for Batman to finish tying up Riddler.
Having finally arrived at Wayne Mansion, Tony and Júlia gawked at all the cool shit in the batcave, before going up into the mansion proper.
“Oh.” Said Alfred, when he first saw them coming up with Bruce Wayne (as he had taken off the costume and switched to civilian clothing). “Well, at least the new Robins aren’t children anymore.”
Bruce gave him a sarcastic smile and told him to make tea for the three of them, before taking the two travelers into his dining room.
After a long and straightforward conversation, it was agreed that Bruce would supply them with funds to travel around the country, meeting whatever superheroes they wanted and then leaving promptly when their travelling device was charged. They would leave the next morning for Metropolis, but not before Bruce did them a little favor…
Tony and Júlia waited around on the roof of a random Gotham skyscraper, with Batman standing next to them. Júlia looked particularly fretful.
“It’s going to be fine.” Reassured Tony. “He’ll love you. How couldn’t he?”
She nodded, but was still fretting around with her feet, rolling her heel on the floor and playing with Tony’s scarf. Suddenly, they heard a noise, and someone else was on that roof with them. He had on a black body suit, with a brown jacket over it, some guns and, completing the look, a big red mask that covered his entire face.
“So… What’s this all about?” said the man, Jason Todd.
Júlia squeed when she heard him talk, and immediately hid behind Tony, shoving her face hard into his scarf.
“These people are… travelers from another universe.” Said Batman, looking entirely unamused “The girl apparently wanted to meet you.”
“Are you serious? You call me in just for this?”
“Well, they know our identities and apparently are just passing by. I figured, why not? They know who you are, by the way, you can take off the mask.”
“Tsk.” Said Jason, as he took his Red Hood helmet off, revealing his ruffled black hair and perfect looking face. “You know… I have other things to do, I can’t be dealing with whatever fanboy wants an autograph.”
“Well…” said Tony “It’s not really a fanboy… more of a fangirl.”
Tony flipped around and grabbed Júlia by the shoulders pushing her towards Jason. “Come on girl, knock him dead” he whispered.
Before she could even collect herself, Júlia was staring Jason Todd straight in the face.
“I… uh… I mean… You… I…” she stuttered, blushing so hard you’d think she was drunk.
Jason had softened a bit seeing this, and gave a cocky smile, slicked his hair back and began talking.
“So…” he said, getting a little closer to her “Where you’re from I’m a big deal?”
“You… uh… Yeah, you’re a… character from… from comics…” she said, smiling ridiculously.
“Well… That’s pretty cool to know” Jason his arm around her, causing Júlia to smile even more “And I’m your favorite character?”
She nodded.
“Cool cool. So… now that you got me here…” Jason gave her a peck on the cheek and whispered in her ear “What do you want to do with me?”
At this point, Júlia made another, much more pronounced squee sound and promptly passed out. Tony stared at her unconscious body.
“Well… Shit.”
Júlia slowly came back to conscience and felt her whole body shaking and vibrating slightly. She opened her eyes and saw Tony in front of her, fiddling with some apparatus. She also realized the source of the shaking: She was on a train, specifically sitting in a train compartment.
“Ah good” said Tony, smiling “You’re finally up.”
“What… What happened?”
“Well, you met Jason Todd, you squeed and then you passed out.”
Júlia remembered what had happened the night before and felt her face brightening with red.
“Oh don’t worry.” Reassured Tony. “He liked you. At least enough to give you this.”
Tony opened a bag sitting next to him. It contained Red Hood’s helmet, with a signature on top that read “To my biggest fan. Till we meet again. Jason ;)”
Tony threw the helmet at Júlia who caught it and held it with care and affection.
“I get the feeling that’s not the last time we’re gonna be seeing him. He really did like you.”
“Yeah…” Júlia sighed wistfully and smiled “I liked him too…”
“Disgusting” Tony shook his head “Anyway, after you fainted, Jason left once he made sure you were alright and me and Bruce carried you to the train going to…”
“Metropolis?”
“Very good, you are paying attention.”
“And you’re playing Doctor again, I see.”
“Let me have this.”
Júlia looked outside the window at the trees rushing bye and wondered.
“Hey Tony?”
“Yes?”
“Why me?”
“What?”
“Why did you bring me on this little adventure of yours?”
“…Because you’re like the only person who’d appreciate it, I guess. Plus, it’s your birthday. Figured you deserved something pretty good, after the decidedly mixed year you had.”
Júlia nodded in thanks, and stared once more out the window, wondering what new adventures awaited them in Metropolis…
SO THIS WAS NOT WRITTEN BY ME, BUT IT WAS GIVEN TO ME AS MY BIRTHDAY GIFT AND HE ALLOWED ME TO SHARE IT CAUSE I LOVED IT ALOT!!! HOPEFULLY YOU GUYS LIKE IT TOO AND HE MAKES A PART 2!!
