Chris can feel the stress radiating from your body as soon as you walk into the home. He hears you drop the car keys haphazardly on the table. He walks out of his office just as you're hanging your coat up, brows furrowed in frustration with your jaw clenched.

lol no Wenclair for you losers

You want to know my favourite thing about the Wenclair fandom? They just want more of the relationship between Wednesday and Enid and for it to continue to be the relationship that brings out the most growth in both characters. Sure we might also want them to end up together, but everyone knows this is a Netflix show and they might never become canon. That doesn’t stop them from being the most important relationship on the show.

Give me more of what was served up in s1 where they push each other and care for each other and change in the best ways because of each other and I’ll eat that up. Now I get to eat that up without watching Wednesday get thrown into the worst love triangle I’ve seen on TV in a long while.

Wednesday as a character, Enid as a character and Wenclair as a dynamic were probably the best parts of the show (along with Thing) so I feel pretty good tbh. If I get some extra romantic subtext I’ll be even happier, but I don’t need it.

New Category: Exes to Lovers

The next fic rec is coming out shortly before my birthday, so I've decided it's time to be SELF-INDULGENT AS HELL and pick one of my favourite tropes to spotlight. I think I've written it at least four times that I can think of, and one of my favourite fics of all time is an exes to lovers (come to think of it I should go reread that... always a good time for a reread tbh), so as a birthday present to me, I would like -- MORE EXES TO LOVERS.

There's just... so much to work with in there. Two people who have so much history, who know each other so well, who cared so deeply about each other -- and maybe still do? But it's complicated. Someone made a mistake, or something got in the way, or there was the dreaded Miscommunication. Have they kept up with the other's lives since the split? Or does it feel like they're strangers in a body they know like the back of their hand? Has someone moved on and built a new life without the other? Or has someone never been able to get their ex out of their head, no matter how much time has passed? Or did they think they were over him, until they saw his face and suddenly it was all just as fresh and intense as at the start?

WIP Wednesday and AO3 Wrapped Tag

hello all! thanks for the tags @ic3-que3n @bookish-bogwitch @thewholelemon @ileadacharmedlife and @forabeatofadrum! it's technically thursday by now, but time is fake, so here's a bit of a wip i'm working on.

i honestly have no iea if i'll ever finish and post this fic, but i wanted to at least make a start on getting this idea out of my head and onto a page. it's a smut fic, though don't worry, this snippet is completely SFW, because as usual when i sit down to write porn with minimal plot, the next thing i know i've churned out five pages of set-up.

By the time I leave the bathroom, Baz is already on the other side of the room, by the bar, speaking to Katy in a clearly apologetic manner. As she pats him on the arm, he glances my way and flashes me the quickest of conspiratorial smiles.

Which abruptly falls as the father of the bride tips back in his seat and spills red wine all over his expensive cream shirt. Everyone falls silent for a moment, and then Katy groans.

“Oh my god, dad!” She pulls the man back to his feet as he drunkenly chuckles. “I’m so sorry.” She says to Baz, whose face is rapidly flickering between all the stages of grief, before folding backover and catching on anger. If looks could kill, we’d have a red wedding on our hands.

He turns on his heel and walks out without a word, which is probably the best I could ask for, given the circumstances.

(the character of Katy is an OC, i just used the first name that came to mind tbh)

but enough of that, what's AO3 Wrapped, you ask? well, as you probably know, spotify wrapped has arrived! i posted mine earlier, and while looking through the tag i saw this post and loved the template, so i decided to change it ever so slightly to be for this year's ao3 stats!

here's the result! are my chapter titles too long, or does this just not have much space? whatever the case, i had to shorten them. but yeah, the categories are the POVs i wrote the most, my fics with the highest hits, my total word count, and the fandom i wrote the most for this year.

what was your tumblr like when you first joined? it was a lot of reblogs of aesthetic photographs because it was 2012 and i was 14. not long after that tho it turned into a sebastian stan fan blog which is how i got my url, and over time that slowly morphed into the multi fandom madness you see today

what clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself? god i don't know, my closet is a little bit of everything because i always wanna try a new style when i see it. i honestly don't think i have an answer for this one, i really do love fashion and my style is constantly changing

if you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best? i have no idea. acotar maybe? solely because i've read those books so many times? yeah i guess i'll go with that

what is your favourite piece of art? café terrace at night

do you have a water bottle? what does it look like? i have a light blue wide mouth nalgene water bottle that is covered in stickers and has two friendship bracelets dangling from the cap strap. it's giving major camp counselor vibes.

what fanfic trope is a quiet fave? look, if i go on a quiet hunt for fics tagged aftercare every now and then, that is between me and god so shut the fuck up about it

do you carry a daily bag? what does it look like? what's the weirdest thing in it? nope. i don't have an office bag bc i wfh and on the weekends i absolutely despise carrying a purse. i have one of those phone cases with card slots on the back and it holds everything i could possibly need.

if you had to ship Mickey with another Gallagher, who would it be? sexually i think it'd have to be lip, but if i could platonically ship him with someone i think i'd pick fiona. idk i just think they'd get along better than anyone would think.

what is a fanfic trope you didn't expect to like and then very much did? friends to lovers kinda snuck up on me in my adulthood. i used to be very against it as a teen, but now that i'm grown and have actually seen the trope done well in fics and in media, it's one of my favorite tropes of all time.

Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian? yes 100% absolutely and anyone who says otherwise is lying. (did we all see noel's s11 body? we saw the abs right? mans was ripped in the last season even tho the writers like, never showed it, and it is my personal mission to avenge this wrongdoing) i'm kidding about the lying part but yeah, he absolutely can still carry s11 ian, being able to lift his husband is the only reason he still goes to the gym

who got custody of the killing bat when they sold the house? debbie. i think carl wanted it, but he already has a gun so he gave it to debbie instead.

today was a pretty busy day. i had a lot of classes and a lot to study, plus my volleyball practice. i have a geography test tomorrow so wish me luck 😭 i suck at geography so tbh i’ll be happy with any grade as long as i don’t fail :) i also had to finish a book for school - it was one of the most boring books i have ever read.

Large rocks make me very happy

Tbh took more pics of forests and rocks than I did of the waterfalls

It was lots of walking and hiking and scrambling up and helping my poor partner who was not born on hiking trails and cliff sides up and over things

Also the goddamn trailer leaked all over the bed on my side and sister didn’t fucking close the roof vents before leaving it for a day and a half of rain before we arrived

So sleeping did not so much happen but ADVENTURE DID

iiii... have no idea? i'm not big on decorating tbh. i like nature stuff and candles. so probably a traditional advent wreath and stuff like that. as long as it isn't angels or anything else tacky 🤢

oooh wait! i also fucking love my little incense bowl!!! i got it from a very sweet lady when i worked in her pottery shop in my high school years for my mandatory internship. it is my favorite color and the incense mixes smell AMAZING. so yeah. i'll go with that!

my favourite characters' favourite christmas decorations and traditions (headcanons)

my guess is john watson really likes decorations. obviously he is the one getting decorations for christmas and any other holiday for the 221b flat. he keeps it simple and traditional. he likes mistletoes (remind him of his mother), simple red christmas bulbs (shiny but no fancy drawing on it or sth), he loves stockings and he LOVES wearing his Christmas sweater. he got it from either his mom or harry, his sister (he forgot, and honestly he doesn't care)

sherlock's favorite christmas decoration is john in his christmas sweater of course ;)

otherwise sherlock ignores christmas and EVERY ANNOYING LITTE THING that comes along with it. (except of course john humming Christmas carols, john smiling when receiving a gift, john making a fire, john making horrible cinnamon tea... anything john)

harry watson fucking loves making christmas tea; she craves for some amaretto in it but she had sobered up and sure as hell won't get down that path again! instead she swears on christmas cookies and makes hundreds of them. she is not the one who got john his cute christmas sweater because she is all in for ugly Christmas sweaters. harry also loves the lights on christmas trees.

molly hooper loves christmas with all of her. she is excited for it all year. she loves stockings and gifting almost everyone she knows something. in november she already got all christmas presents wrapped up with cute little cards hanging from them. her favourite decoration is the mistletoe and whenever she is invited to a christmas party she scans the room for it. and at some point she'll stand "accidentally" underneath it. secretly she hopes to find the love of her life that way. (in reality she doesn't even get one kiss...) (oh wait so she stops at some point in her early 20s with this "silly dream" of hers and then some magical night when she is in her 30s/40s the most handsome man she has ever seen (it is not sherlock) sees her underneath a mistletoe and kisses her... they fall in love and live happily ever after :D) (do not disagree with me molly deserves the whole world and more)

mrs. hudson loves ALL the lights! on the houses on the trees... everywhere! but! she doesn't like it when people overdo it. (she herself totally overdoes it completely though). she loves all the sweets and she loves christmas movies (especially the ones with "those handsome actors"). cinnamon is not only her favorite thing to bake with but also her favorite decoration. she loves her christmas bulbs she was gifted from her nieces and nephews. and their kids' Christmas bulbs. (they look kind of ugly but... she doesn't care)

if money, laws, time, and effort were no object, what animal would you want to have?: as someone who used to work with exotic wild animals who were rescued from the pet trade and needed to be re-taught how to act like wild animals, i'm not gonna answer this one. i know some wild animals are more amenable to being pets but sorry i hate fun!!! 😇

what is your Chinese takeout order?: veggie lo mein or chicken fried rice

what's your favourite emoji?: 🌸 this guy but also 💫 this guy.

would you rather have a library, greenhouse, or home theater in your house?: we have a library and i'm obsessed with it, i wouldn't trade it for either of the others. it's a silly little room but i love it in there. it used to be a deck and the previous owners closed it in and made it part of the house, so the floor and ceiling are a little slanted. but i'm in there all the time in my cozy chair.

what childhood tv show do you think of the most fondly?: hehe rugrats

what was your tumblr like when you first joined?: my old tumblr from 2013 was like a horny aesthetic blog with a little bit of fandom stuff and music stuff. the fandom and music stuff i reblogged was like carefully curated though, in keeping with the aesthetic. what a pain in the ass.

what clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself?: i've been trying to think of something for like 20 minutes so i'm gonna skip this one lol

if you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best?: if i was dropped in supernatural i could make my way around that huge ass bunker without even thinking about it, which is so embarrassing.

🗺️ Where are you located? Northern California

🥶⛱️ What season is it where you are now? Winter, but California style. It's 60 F and sunny today (about 15 C)

🥳 Favourite tradition this time of year: my family is religious, and every year at midnight on Christmas eve we attend a candle lighting service. We sing silent night and light candles and even though I'm not religious, the whole thing is just lovely.

🥧 Favourite holiday food: molasses cookies 🤤

☕️ Mulled wine, eggnog or hot apple cider? Cider. I add whiskey and make my version of a hot toddy.

🍗 Turkey, Ham or Nut Roast (Or Tofurkey?)? Ham!

🏔️🏖️ Would you rather spend the December holidays in: A cabin in the woods surrounded by snow, or a house on the beach with sun and sand? The beach. I'm not built for the snow.

❄️ Are you pro-snow or anti-snow? Anti-snow. It doesn't snow where I live and I feel no desire to go to see it. I haven't seen snow in years and I'm perfectly okay with that.

⛷️ Skiing or Snowboarding? Neither. I was a fan of sledding as a kid though.

🎍 Do you decorate for the holidays? Tbh, no. When I want to see holiday decor, I either go downtown or to my parents house.

🎥 If you were to star in a Hallmark movie, who would be your love interest? Where would it take place?

Meagan left a whole plot line here and idk if I can top that lol.

I've got two answers. The hallmark answer is that me and my childhood friend (played by either Cameron Monaghan or Joe Keery) reconnect when we both come home for the holidays. A series of unlucky events occurs (including all of the tropes. All of them.) And we end with a kiss under the mistletoe.

The non hallmark answer (and what wpuld make my aroace heart happy irl) is that this same friend and I go through the same thing, but instead of all the tropes having a romantic undertone, they only act to strengthen our friendship. By the end, we will have a better understanding and appreciation for how deep and fulfilling even a platonic relationship can be.
