Today's WTH House is a prime example of "you never know what's going on inside a house." Built in 2018, it looks like an ordinary raised ranch in Cedar Lake, Indiana. The clue that's it's not a normal house comes from the fact that for a big home, it only has 1bd, 1ba. The price is $619K.

The entrance isn't attractive. It could use something.

In the laundry room to the right is a lone sauna that must convey with the property. Let us proceed upstairs.

This is the 1 bath, down here. Looks like the shower needs a good scrub.

I think that this is the 1 bedroom.

Instead of finding a living room, dining room, and kitchen, we find this.

Some kind of sports thing, but it must've been a living room b/c it has a nice big modern fireplace.

All along the front wall are sliding doors to the balcony in front.

It looks like they took out the original kitchen and made a compact kitchenette.

Closet behind the kitchen wall. Would make a good Duck Pin Bowling room.

And, this is the garage. That's it. That's the whole house.

The house is on Cedar Lake.

Look at all the boat traffic.

I'm pretty sure that the blue lights will convey with the property.

Hot 4am take but I feel like if we want to get people more interested in making their yards a more habitable space for wildlife like insects, we have to acknowledge that ‘Don’t want bugs in your house’ is still a 100% fair and valid point of view. ‘Loves nature’ and ‘doesn’t want roaches spiders and mosquitoes in the house’ aren’t opposites.

And with that in mind, when we propose to people that spraying pesticides around houses is Not A Good Idea, Actually, I feel like we need to give an alternative asides from ‘deal with it.’

I’m so confused by what this house is supposed to be and what they did to it. It’s a 1903 home, so it’s 2 yrs. over the Victorian era, but it looks more like a Queen Anne than a Colonial. It’s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has 4bd  4ba and is listed for $529,900, yet the listing says “Please, only buyers who are not afraid of work.” A lot of work for over $500K. I don’t know about that. Take a look at it.

They show the entrance hall and only a glimpse of the living area. Luckily, they didn’t touch the wood on the stairs.

Looks like they broke a door and on the right there’re some pocket doors probably to a sitting room. 

I see some bare appliances and all sorts of weirdness going on in here.

What they did to this home, requires a total gut. I see stairs coming out of the wall, a backsplash that doesn’t go up to the ceiling, cheap modern cabinetry, torn up floors and walls peeled back to the wood, to just mention a few things in the kitchen. 

I don’t know what this is, but it looks like it’s a back room that leads into the kitchen.

Maybe these are service stairs. I guess those are supposed to be closets over them?

One of the bedrooms is awaiting baseboard heating.

This may be the main bedroom.

Again, I’m glad that they didn’t touch the stairs.

Some broken, crooked pocket doors up here. Not lovin’ the floor. I don’t know what they’re doing w/the corrugated metal.

Maybe this is a living room or a bedroom. 

A bath that needs a redo has old gym lockers.

So, they’re putting a kitchen up here. 

Another bedroom. 

This bath needs to be gutted.

This is the only room that looks done, but it’s very small and I don’t see any window.

Another bath with very odd faucets. I wonder if that heater is properly installed.

This can’t be up to code.

They tried to make the old wall look nice w/the white paint, but it’s too rough. 

Needs a good trim out front. I just don’t know what to think of this and the price they’re asking.
