Here's a teaser about the upcoming chapters of my "wrecked" fic. I hope this glimpse of the (possible) future events of this story will make you want to start it! 🥺🥺
   —
𝗦𝗡𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗞:
“What are you doing!? Where are you taking me!? Let me go!” Sakura struggled fiercely, fear gripping her heart. She'd been kidnapped in the middle of the street, a black cloth bag placed over her head, and thrown into the back of a van. Her hands were tied, and now she was being dragged against her will into a tunnel that seemed to have no way out.
“HEY, I'M TALKING TO YOU! WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME?!”
“Shut up, bitch! You'll find out soon enough.”
“Yeah, the Boss can't wait to see you,” his partner said mockingly.
Sakura would have stumbled to her feet if her captors hadn't held her firmly. Now she was really worried... She wasn't a bad person, she hadn't scammed anyone, she didn't owe any money, so who was crazy enough to... No... no, it wasn’t possible. Panic rose within her, apprehension too. She was screwed. No one would ever find her body.
Just as she was on the verge of hyperventilating, she was roughly pushed into another room. The cloth bag was yanked off her head, and it took her a few seconds to readjust to the light. A quick glance around informed her that she was in what looked like an office. A large, spacious room.
The charcoal-gray walls were adorned with paintings all stemming from the same artistic movement, but some, Sakura noticed, were a much more contemporary version of traditional Ukiyo-e from the Heian, Edo and Meiji eras. She knew this because she could recognize Haruyo Morita's work when she saw it. She reluctantly admits that there is a touch of elegance in this office. In the center, a solid wood desk, adorned with ancient symbols, dominated the room. Sakura apprehensively examined the intricate details of the decor, feeling fear increase as she realized the gravity of her situation.
“Good evening, Miss Haruno.”
Her body froze. No. It couldn't be. It couldn't be him. She knew that voice, hated that voice full of arrogance and disdain. She hated his condescending, self-assured tone. She hated the way he dominated a room with his mere presence. That intimidating aura he had. Sakura was fucked. He had her.
“I'm sure you have some idea why you're here. I think it's time we had a little chat.”
Uchiha Madara had her.

i’m actually getting so fucking obsessed with shisui that seeing the word parter(S) on a post talking about him is enough to make me feel bad, the idea of him having past partners is enough to make me want to kill myself in front of him in the most tragic way possible so i traumatize everyone involved in this shit

other than rinobkk do you have any other (outwardly?) gay couples in your aus? or some hcs for peoples sexualities or does it come down to just the vibes between the characters and you just go with the dynamics you like? (ps huge fan of your narushika content)
I’ve said it before but i really do just HC that most of the characters from major franchises are pansexual (unless the author clearly states their sexuality) 🖤 for me, shipping just comes to to personalities I like to see together really and what I think they can build together.
Here’s a list of some of the LGBTQ+ ships/hookups within the tattoo shop AU:
Of Course, KakaObiRin 🖤🖤🖤
ShikaNaru. They’re technically FWB, but love each other (no big confession yet). Naruto’s an idiot trying to experience life before settling down and Shikamaru is too busy coding, so fwb is the best thing atm
Naruto has also hooked up with: Sasuke, Sai, Gaara, and has Nisi joked “so many Hyuga and Uchiha’s”. He’s an equal opportunity lover and likes people for who they are 🖤
Ino got Hinata’s “first time with a girl card”one girls trip. She’s very much bi and open about it with Sai (who’s cool with that, supportive king)
HashiMadaMito. He dates them together and separately, but has a much deeper bond with Hashi (of course)
Madara x his business partner (the father of Madara’s second daughter), who is a trans man.
Hashirama is bi with his fine wine and favorite porcupine
Shisui’s pan and his lovers reflect that. Like Naruto, he’s down if the vibes are right between him and the person.
Temari is a lesbian, has a fiancée (Tayuya)
KankuKiba may not be a main fixture in this au but they’re definitely romantically involved and causing chaos for Gaara
Yamato x Genma~ my laid back yet surprisingly sultry dou. Genma hasn’t been introduced to Naruto, Sai, Sakura, or Sasuke because they tend to scare off anyone he’s interested in. But they do join KakaObiRin for couples date nights sometimes.
Also Neji is (Omni? He supposes) greysexual/aroflux.

thoughts on itadei, itakisa, and itasaku? and i guess any other popular itachi ships that are not currently coming to mind for me lol
ItaDei
Love it. Have written tens of thousands of words about it. It's sort of a frustrating ship to write because they're both assholes about their own feelings (and I don't think Itachi in canon... has a lot of thoughts on Deidara), but Deidara has an extremely canonical gay melt down over Itachi, so I feel like there's a lot of ridiculousness to explore. The fact that they're both criminal villain ninja means there's a lot of room for understanding that other ships might not have. Yes, Deidara blows buildings up with people inside, what of it? He's not like "ooh aah you monster!!" over the Uchiha Massacre. And I like that they both have wildly different, but demonstrably lethal/successful, attitudes towards problem solving. Like I think they cover a lot of each other's flaws while also making each other worse, you know?
Since it's "brutally honest" opinion time, I will add a complaint I haven't made in a while. I hate the way a good chunk of fandom writes Deidara in mlm ships. For some reason, people like to make him a naive uwu bean to play the "feminine" role. Stop that, it's boring and OOC.
ItaKisa
This is a ship I don't really mind but also don't find super compelling. I'm not a big Kisame fan-- like he's fine, I like writing and reading about him fine-- but he's not one of my favorite Akatsuki members. I don't filter on ItaKisa but the tag won't make me NOT click a fic. I could be compelled to write it if I had an idea for it. I do prefer exploring their relationship from a more platonic angle. Kisame is most interesting to me when he's the guy dealing with Itachi's bullshit 24/7 and somehow still thriving.
ItaSaku
My original OTP!!!!!! Okay so I think they're super compatible and HERE'S WHY--
Tumblr media
Basically I think Itachi is someone who has idealized romance in a way where he has an extensive very bland fantasy about nice Konoha girls who let him have the most bland vanilla hetersosexual marriage of all time. He wants the culturally appropriate equivalent of a white picket fence. Would he actually be happy with this? No, obviously not, but Itachi also thinks he's a pacifist.
Meanwhile Sakura is a violent maniac who is trying her hardest to BE that nice Konoha girl. They indulge each other's insane fantasies about it. Itachi looks at Sakura and is like: "oh yes, the perfect Konoha kunoichi, the student of the Hokage and Hatake Kakashi, a healer with the face of an angel--" But if his ability for self-analysis were 2% better he would realize his favorite Sakura moments are all like "ripped a man in half" and "brought that same man back from the brink of death to interrogate him." He is ready to lay back and let Sakura live out her own fantasy of Fixing the tragic S-ranked missing-nin WITH HER LOVE because that is also what Itachi wants. Ignore that the village is on fire, please
Other Itachi Ships
Let's see.... every once in a while I get intrigued by the idea of Kakashi/Itachi, but I have never hit on anything there that I really like. I'm fine with Shisui/Itachi, but I don't think Shisui has enough of a canon presence for me to go really feral over it like I would ItaSaku or ItaDei. I'm intrigued by some other Itachi/Akatsuki ships although I don't think any of them are popular. For example, I think Itachi and Sasori would clash horribly in that they're both assholes in similar directions, and this would make SasoItaDei a beautiful trashfire for Deidara specifically.
I've written some Itachi-Karin interactions that I thought were fun so I think ItaKarin could be interesting. Ummm..... OH! I regularly forget Izumi even exists. Sorry, Izumi.

Something something Seto being Mokuba’s parent since he was ten and refusing to be adopted without his baby brother and taking the brunt of Gozuboro’s abuse and even once he’s rich and powerful showing that he couldn’t care less about most people but would not hesitate for a single second to drop everything, go to whatever corner of the world, give up his life, kill whomever, commit unspeakable crimes, spit on his pride and beg for help, anything for his baby brother.
Something something Itachi irredeemably messed up in the head from Anbu and Danzo and Shisui willing to commit the worst crime be a terrorist hurt and kill whomever as long as one of those people was never his brother. Itachi whose single point of blindness, his single manipulable point being Sasuke, Itachi who would give it all up again and again, willing to die the worst of villains, willing to let thousands spit on his grave so he could save Sasuke once, Itachi who orchestrated his life to die at his hands.
Idk something about big brothers whose single blind spot and single weakness is their younger brother, who know that fact and never once begrudge it, who will let go of their intelligence their common sense their pride everything for this person, whom they can close their eyes and see as the little kid who used to run up into their arms and see the safest of places.

Obito vs Itachi
There is a lot of debait who is stronger and i dont want to continue with the same Power scaling. Instead i will explain their dynamic and my Interpretation of the character changes depanding on who is stronger.
I see them as a Snape and Voldemort Comby. Not entirely because of personality but because of their stand to each other.
One is a spy and the other is the master and teacher. The teacher is the one who is able to manipulate an army and the servant is not great with people but is more book smart and able to archive things the master cant, so he is valueble for the master. Even though the leader knows the servant is untrust worthy he still ends up relying more on the spy than he should. This works and is impressiv because the master is smart enough not to be fooled by everyone. Meaning the student is even better in terms of intelligence than them. The student has good enough inside into the Situation to fool the big bad which makes him ecential for the good side. This includes the knowledge that he cant win the fight and his dead at the master Hand would lead to no good outcome. So he has to Plan around an all out confrontation. This means setting Others up to fight the big bad with tools their hid and didnt use themselfs. This is also the reason why they never fought, even if they could do some damage. Because it would never last and make no difference for the defeat of the bad guy. Only hit them off and lead to the villain looking into what the spy did exactly and destroy the plans they set up.
Snape was never able to defeat Voldemort in an all out battle and he knows it. What makes his spying so great is that he spent time with someone more evil and powerful than him and still management to fool Voldemort into trusting him enough so he could plan his downfall.
That is Itachi for me. He knows he cant win against Obito so he plans his steps around him. During this he made such a great job that even Obito didnt know about Amaterasu or Shisui eye, even though he know itachi was a spy and he should have keept a close eye on him. Itachi never even tryed to fight because he know that even if defeating Obito would stop the greatest danger to Konoha, it would just end in his dead instead so it would be pointless to try.
Itachi had great inside into his own and Obitos cababilitys and made a move with put him into the smarter spy Situation. This is what i like about Itachi. A good hearth who did what was smart in a dangerous Situation.
If Itachi was stronger than Obito it would change my perspective on him. Itachi would have been not smart enough to see that he could have gotten rid of Konohas biggest enemy and than fight sasuke later. since Obito loses some danger if Itachi could just get rid of him the information stealing and ahead planning becomes less impressiv. Both Obito as the Main villain until the war arc and Itachi as the smart double agent would lose some respect if they fail in their roles. Even if Itachi is now stronger and Obito now smarter it is not part of the character role their should play.
This would be like if Snape could have killed Voldemort permanently and never did it because even if his Main role was spying, he never found out he could do it. So he died instead and if Voldemort was a worse actor snape would have found out and just killed the Main villain before harry potter could.
Even though i think Obito is stronger than Itachi and Itachi is smarter based on facts. This is irrelevant because for the story and for how i like the characters ( a smart spy and charasmartic strong villain ) it is necessary that Obito is stronger. Otherwise the dynamic has to change and Obito is the smarter and Itachi the stronger character. No character can be smarter and stronger than the other At the same time or one of them would be dead already. Like i showed above the first dynamic makes more sence simply on the role they play. It could work the other way around, but i would hate it for Obito to be weaker than his own members and Itachi dumber than Obito. It is simply not the way they are written and as i see them. As a fan of both, i see if i hold Itachi into to high of a regard in strenght, he loses some of his intelligence, with made me a fan of him to begin with.
So short Obito is stronger than Itachi for story and character sake.

WIP Name Game
Since @lightweaving asked me to list all of my WIP's...this may take a while.
WIPs ranked from degree of progress - from works that have 130,000+ words down to little scraps of 'why did I even open a google doc for this?'
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! Tag as many people as you have WIPs

Naruto: Sasuke Was Right About the Hidden Leaf Village
While much of the fanbase tends to disagree with his actions, in retrospect, most of what Sasuke did had some merit and justification.
This month marks the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime, making it the perfect time to look back on the franchise. Following the story of the titular character, Naruto Uzumaki, fans were taken on a wild adventure that ultimately ended up revolving around one friend trying to save the other from themselves. This friend who needed saving was obviously the infamous Sasuke Uchiha.
Sasuke Uchiha, while ultimately redeemed at the end of the story, is easily one of the most divisive characters throughout Naruto. As strong as he is, his behavior, especially towards Naruto, has led to the character's derision by fans. What's strange though, is that in many ways, the revelations that happen throughout the series pretty much prove that most of his actions were justifiable.
The Hidden Leaf Framed Itachi For the Death of the Uchiha Clan
Starting off with probably the most notable reason, Sasuke had every right to seek revenge against the Hidden Leaf Village for what it had done to his family. When he was just a child, Sasuke witnessed the massacre of his entire clan at the hands of Itachi, an event that set the stage for his character arc and acted as his main motivation throughout the series.
What makes this event so cruel isn't that the atrocities of that night were committed by his brother, but that the Hidden Leaf Village forced Itachi to do so. After receiving word that the Uchiha were planning a coup d'etat, Danzo went out of his way to eliminate the entirety of the clan, even though there were other methods available, such as Shisui Uchiha's powerful genjutsu. This is also ignoring the fact that the Hidden Leaf could have negotiated and tried to resolve things peacefully as well.
Instead of a peaceful resolution, Danzo manipulated Itachi into killing his family, stating that it would save the most lives, but also threatening to have Sasuke killed if he didn't do it. Feeling trapped, Itachi killed his clan, traumatizing his younger brother in the process, all in an effort to save him. To top it all off, not only was Sasuke not allowed to know any of this, but those responsible, mainly Danzo, weren't punished for their actions, even though the Third Hokage ordered him not to follow through with his plan. In the process of covering up the incident, the Hidden Leaf Village framed Itachi and made him out to be this evil villain that revels in cruelty, tarnishing his name forever.
No one loved Sasuke more than his brother, and the same was true for Itachi. Sasuke idolized Itachi and trusted him more than anyone else, which is why the betrayal hurt him so much. To make matters worse, Itachi went out of his way to torment Sasuke in order to push him to become as strong as possible. Itachi knew from experience just how dangerous it was to be an Uchiha in the Hidden Leaf, and wanted to make sure that Sasuke would be strong enough to protect himself without him there. It broke Itachi's heart doing so, something Sasuke only learned after it was too late.
He'd already killed his brother, only to find out that Itachi had spent his entire life trying save Sasuke from a similar and worse fate. He became the villain in Sasuke's life, hoping that his death would ultimately bring his brother happiness. If Sasuke killed him, he would become known as a hero of the Hidden Leaf Village, ultimately guiding Sasuke away from destroying their home. Even knowing that Itachi wanted Sasuke to be a protector of the Hidden Leaf Village, he couldn't shake away his anger towards it, and rightfully so.
The Hidden Leaf Had a Long History of Mistreating the Uchiha Clan
The issue that pretty much led to the vast majority of the events as far as Sasuke's journey was concerned was the Uchiha Clan Massacre. For a long time, the Uchiha had felt like the Hidden Leaf Village was treating them unfairly, as though they weren't really a part of the village, a sentiment that wasn't completely without merit.
By the time the coup was being planned, the Uchiha had already been pushed to the outskirts of the village, segregating them from everyone else. While this definitely had an "othering" effect, it wasn't the worst part of their mistreatment. This was all done alongside making them into the Konoha Military Police Force, a group designed to keep other shinobi in check and make sure they follow the law. While it was presented as a sign of good faith and trust by Tobirama Senju, it is also what led to the clans move, as it was decided that they along with the station need to be closer to the prison. This is also led to the Uchiha losing governing influence within the village.
In many ways, all of this was predicted by Madara Uchiha. While the main motivations of his belief were mainly selfish and derived from jealousy, Madara was still able to see the signs of where things were ultimately heading. He saw how the other clans in the village feared him and the Uchiha's power, and could see how this prejudice could lead to his clan's downfall. In a case of dark irony, the reason he and Hashirama Senju founded the Hidden Leaf Village was in order to avoid this exact situation. They both felt that if different clans could come together and create a shared home, leading to peace among all clans in all nations. Unfortunately, after Hashirama died, and even during his life, the Uchiha were still treated as a dangerous entity in the village.
This became more prevalent when Obito had the Nine-Tailed Fox attack Konoha. The Uchiha's Sharingan has the ability to control others, even the Tailed Beasts, through the use of Genjutsu. This meant that theoretically, any member of the Uchiha with a high degree of mastery over their Sharingan could have taken control of Kurama and stopped the attack, just like Obito did in order to start it. However, the village leaders in charge at the time forbade them entering the conflict, knowing full well the Uchiha were their best bet at quickly stopping the attack. It highlighted just how deep the mistrust ran, showing that to some, the Uchiha weren't really considered part of the village, because if they were, they would have been trusted to save their fellow Hidden Leaf citizens.
Quite frankly, the Uchiha Clan Massacre was entirely the fault of the Hidden Leaf Village, including the planned coup d'etat. The Uchiha were one of the founding clans that started the entire village system along with the Senju, yet were constantly treated as though they were dangerous and untrustworthy. There were many ways that their issues could have been resolved, but were all seemingly ignored because it would force the higher-ups in the village to view them as real citizens of Konoha. To make matters worse, most of the village's history seems to imply that Konoha went out of its way to blame their mistreatment on the Uchiha themselves, using them as a frequent scapegoat and justification to treat them unjustly.
Sasuke made a personal vow after the massacre to become an avenger. In that sense, the Hidden Leaf Village was always his true target. It was responsible for his family's death as well as framed his brother as some kind of sociopathic mass murderer. The franchise consistently went out of its way to show off the "good side of Konoha," but that was really all a lie. Regardless of what Naruto said or felt, Sasuke had every right to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village, and he honestly should have if he ever found the chance. In actuality, for all the characters trying to get Sasuke to see how they felt in order to convince him to stop, they hypocritically never once really tried to do the same for him. Hopefully, if fans watch it again, maybe to celebrate the anniversary of the anime, they will see Sasuke in a different light.

what do you think of the uchihas (the most important. madara. izuna .sasukr. shisui. itachi...+your OCs the brothers of madara) '' your opinions and your thoughts '' just to know 🤭
I’m going to stick to canon Uchiha simply for time and idk what to say about my own in the same context
Madara
Like it or not, he was kinda right 😬 interesting idea, TERRIBLE execution. He’s a bit cocky (rightfully so) but i love him and he has one of my favorite smiles, look at him 😆
Tumblr media
Izuna
I can’t stand him. To me, he’s the devil and angel on Madara’s shoulders and he wants problems, always 💀
Tumblr media
Itachi
I’m not going to sit here and act like he didn’t do some horrible and dumb things, causing more harm than good. This guy could have solved a lot a things by opening his mouth. But he looks cool and I’m stuck to the few good things we did get from his true nature
Tumblr media
Sasuke
I have strong feelings surrounding Sasuke and I’m going to try not to rant. Out of all the Uchiha, I understand his motives the best and his anger towards Konoha is more than justified… but him being continuously shown displaying a lack of communication skills irks me to my core. I also would have been all for movie with more of his POV, but that’s just me. It’s complicated because I either, don’t care or care too much depending on the day/specific grievance 💀
On a brighter note, I think he has one of the best character designs in the whole series
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shisui
A mischievous sweetheart. 1000% deserved better. He also had a horrifying ability that would have been great for a villain and he has the best lashes in Konoha. I like to believe he survived and is living life as a blind old man somewhere leave me alone 😭
Tumblr media
Obito
My Uchiha Husband, you forgot him 😌 sure he’s got a laundry list of problems and he’s a red flag, but I’m an Obito apologist lmao. Unpopular opinion; I don’t think he started a war simply over Rin, I think Rin’s death was just the last straw as he had old man Madara brainwashing him for a good bit. Also he’s the hottest Uchiha imo
Tumblr media
In conclusion; they’ve all done a lot of things wrong, but they weren’t necessarily wrong for feeling the way they did. This is the problem when you’re a lover and fighter 💀

Wait wait, can I hear more about the itachi not using shisui’s eye thoughts? Because honestly, for a character that’s supposed to be a pacifist, itachi seems to be written much more like an Angel of Death esque serial killer?
Uhhhhhhh okay I'll try to get this down before tumblr makes me wanna gouge my eyes out (why is dark mode just as painful to look at as light mode make it stopppp)
-It is very clear that Itachi was originally intended to be a Pure Evil character with different motivations. In Naruto OG we *really* have no reason to think he is anything other than a nutjob who murdered his family and tortured his brother for the lols. NOW. This isn't actually an irredeemable factor for him as a character, with a show as long as Naruto it is perfectly possible to rewrite him and tweak him into a tragic villain or even the tragic hero Kishi wanted us to later believe he was. *IF* proper work is done to explain why the so called pacifist resorted to so much violence.
-Which obviously never explicitly happens even though with how Itachi's backstory is set up it honestly wouldn't be that hard.
-Moving on from the meta perspective may I put forth to you this answer to All the Itachi Questions:
-Danzo.
-No seriously. I already suspected this when I was reading just the fanfic, but actually watching the arc where we see Itachi's spiral there are some Key Things I noticed happening that are literally never mentioned or expanded on that would make Itachi choosing Massacre over Brainwashing make perfect sense.
-Gonna have to backtrack just a bit for this, but when I say that Danzo wanted the Uchiha dead, I *mean he wanted them dead*. Not just in a "the village and the Uchiha were starting to butt heads anyway and he took preemptive murder action" way but like- "intentional years long plan to kill off this entire clan" way.
-One of the big things that fueled the rumor that the Uchiha were at fault for the Kyuubi attack, other than the old story of Madara controlling the Kyuubi, is that the Uchiha were not present for the defense against the Kyuubi. A lot of clans took heavy losses trying to fend the biju off or drive it out of the village until Minato could arrive, but the Uchiha were literally not there, and people got suspicious as to why. The answer is literally Danzo. Fugaku was planning to marshal the Uchiha *because* he hoped he and his clan would be able to mass genjutsu the Kyuubi into being docile, but at the last minute he received orders from *Danzo* through one of his Root, to instead take his clan and.
-Guard the civilian underground shelters and the village outskirts "in case an enemy tries to sneak in in the chaos". I'm sorry but uh. YOUR CHUUNIN COULD DO THAT WHILE THE PEOPLE WITH MIND CONTROL POWERS HELP WITH THE BIJU PROBLEM? But no. Danzo specifically ordered them to the two places they could not help against the Kyuubi and would be mostly out of sight/would be accused of using civilians as an excuse to save their own skins.
-No explanation is ever given to the general populace for why the Uchiha were not there, even though it was a direct order from the man who was, at the time, Sarutobi's known SiC and primary advisor. All Sarutobi would have to do is say 'they were following my orders' and it would clear up. He does not. Which indicates that Sarutobi *possibly* did not even known Danzo did what he did, and the Uchiha never told the Hokage because Danzo is his SiC and this would not be the first time people just assumed Danzo is operating on Sarutobi's orders/permission.
-We see multiple mULTIPLE times in this arc that over the course of literal years, starting from the Kyuubi attack and on to the Massacre, that Danzo was intentionally orchestrating the tension in the village. The isolation of the Uchiha compound wasn't Tobirama, it was Danzo, who had them relocated post the Kyuubi attack for "better reconstruction of the village". They were so far removed they were outside the chakra barrier/radar thing that Pain used Itachi's passcode for in the Pain Arc. That's how far removed they were from the village proper. They were under 24 hr, intense surveillance, cameras on their streets, watch towers hidden around their compound border, cameras even looking *into* the windows of their houses. And they were aware of it, because the Uchiha are not dumb and also have really good vision thank you. They can see that. Their one foundational position in the village, the Police Force, was being forcibly and slowly taken from them with Danzo pushing Sarutobi to insist they take on officers from other clans like Inuzuka and Aburame, and some of their traditional patrol beats were being straight up reassigned to ANBU. You know, the guys who are supposed to be busy assassinating Konoha's enemies, not breaking up bar brawls.
-I could go on with this but if you actually watch that arc and watch Danzo, he is very intentionally *trying* to force the Uchiha to plot a coup. He is trying to get an excuse to kill them all. AND on top of that, we already know he has a sharingan eye already, yes even before Shisui. In fact he steals Shisui's eye because his current one is going blind *presumably from overuse*, which means he's already spent who knows how long subtly influencing/genjutsuing Sarutobi and other high ranked shinobi into looking the other way or agreeing with him on policy stuff.
-Enter *Itachi* and Shisui, who are trying to juggle this entire situation at ages like- 11 and maybe 14 when this starts and later Itachi at a lonely 13 by the end. Every time they come up with advice on how to help lower clan tensions to Sarutobi, Danzo railroads it and makes the situation worse instead. There's literal dialogue for it, where he'll interrupt them or just later on dismiss the idea and bully Sarutobi (who lets himself be bullied) into doing something else that is clearly just going to make the Uchiha madder.
-Somewhere about ... halfway I'd guess? Halfway at the earliest through this train wreck, Itachi gets pulled from Kakashi's ANBU squad and given, by Sarutobi, *to Danzo* and his ROOT shinobi, who at the time were not only known about by Sarutobi but implicitly approved of, they've worked alongside normal ANBU for several missions in the past. So now Itachi, the pacifist, the clan heir, the linchpin to this entire disaster, is directly under the command of Danzo Eye-Stealer and Genjutsu User Shimura, is within his reach and probably in his presence for *long periods of time* to receive orders/get pontificated at. Remember that point.
-Okay so now, NOW we get to Shisui's eye and Itachi not using it. To start with, Itachi was fully on board with Shisui's plan, he *wanted* this plan to work, he and Shisui were gonna meet up, go to the Clan Head, and do the thing. But Shisui, poor naive soul, reported to Danzo first, to inform him that "hey we're going to fix this problem". Danzo's response is to attack Shisui and rip out his eye to replace his now mostly blind current sharingan. Shisui runs, suicide by dramatics yada yada, his dying words are for Itachi to take his remaining eye and DO THEIR PLAN.
-Itachi straight up ... does not do it. In canon there is no actual reason stated. I don't thing we even get Itachi doing a long-winded monologue (which Kishi usually adores doing to kill us with boredom) about why he thinks the plan will fail. Instead we hit a *timeskip* of anything from a few weeks to possibly a few months, and then we have Itachi approaching "Madara" for assistance in the massacre.
-Madara who, iirc, Danzo is also aware of, I believe he bargained with Madara at least once in canon for something but I don't remember where that shows up.
-Funny how the guy who now has a fresh new brainwashing eye suddenly is not going to be responsible for the final blow to the Uchiha. Funny how the 13 year old who is under his direct command and influence goes from wanting to fix the problem without bloodshed to *recruiting a rogue shinobi* to help kill everyone, and then handily removing himself from the village entirely to go spy on the Akatsuki and make himself Konoha's enemy #1 for years to come.
-Funny how no one ever heard the massacre take place, and how the Uchiha compound was already conveniently outside the barrier radar so no one would notice the Uchiha chakra signatures going out en masse.
-Funny, how the first people on the scene of the massacre? Are Danzo and his root agents.
-Funny, isn't it, that the man with years of experience using a stolen eye to influence people in secret suddenly has everything he wants, and the talented but much less experienced *child* directly under his command goes against all his previous ideals of pacifism to do something that will fully benefit Danzo and then removing himself from the situation entirely to serve as a spy against Danzo's other potential problems.
-Funny isn't it that the one thing Itachi loved enough to defy orders for, Sasuke, almost *died* from the trauma of the Tsukuyomi anyway (iirc he was in a coma for a few *days*, but that could be fanon I'm misremembering).
-Funny that, over the years, this one single loose end of Danzo's, this one last thing Itachi would be willing to destroy Danzo for even after all he has done and abandoned, is systematically isolated and then later hunted by a missing ninja who *also* spent a lot of time in the past working for Danzo. Including being able to send the Sound Four in to get him in the heart of the village without any alarms going up in the barrier radar thing. For which Danzo has the codes for his root ninja who are also now not supposed to exist.
-Funny how this one loose end keeps running into circumstances that by rights should either kill him or make him *also* a missing ninja that Konoha should hunt down, and the only thing that keeps Sasuke from being declared an enemy of the village and slaughtered for a bounty is the unanticipated attachment of Tsunade to Naruto, who loves Sasuke enough to beg for clemency for him.
-Funny how one of the *first* things Danzo does after becoming temporary Hokage is put out a bounty on this one boy that survived his plotting and was the only threat left to him from Itachi, even after Itachi has died.
-But sure. It was all Itachi's idea to massacre the clan and never use Shisui's eye to fix the problem. No sir definitely no brainwashing of a baby Uchiha involved there, nope. Nada. What are you talking about. Itachi totally did this all of his own choice and volition.

Hello!
I notice you analyze Itachi very well in my opinion. So I was just curious to think what would have helped Itachi have a second chance? In a AU where he was given the chance to, or if he allow himself to heal. Since I though how Sasuke was able to be forgiven and found his way back home, Nagato was able to get a second chance from Naruto by doing a good act, Obito as well. So I wonder if Itachi had the same opportunity or what would it take in a AU since maybe in canon he would turn down every though of help and healing, although he admits in Edo that he failed. So it makes me curious to think how he would turn things around or if he is able to get a second chance. But what you think that would look like for Itachi? In canon events or if the UCM never happened.
Hi, there! Thank you so much. :)
Since you asked about two scenarios where massacre happens and in another where it doesn't, I'll try to answer them separately.
So, what if the massacre did not happen?
It depends at what point the coup is thwarted. Most probably the trigger would be Shisui's death, which forces Hiruzen to show some spine. Since Itachi is talented and a prodigy, he would continue to be the exceptional Shinobi to the Leaf and an asset to them. And if Konoha is kind enough, Hiruzen would declare him as his successor for the next Hokage. Taking the Itachi Shinden novels into account since they mention he wanted to be the Hokage, to end wars and establish peace. He'd make a great one, because he's very much capable of taking hard decisions, is against the idea of child soldiers, values both land and the people, and wants peace. He'd be the one carrying Hashirama's ideals of peace further. Basically, the series would be known as Itachi Shippuden.
This part doesn't need Itachi to heal the way the other one does because he can survive this much stress and can channelize his previous loss to make the world a better place.
Now, since the massacre has happened..
He blames himself for this. Obviously. For him to find peace and happiness in canon is impossible, because his guilt is the driving force for all the extremes he goes to ensure he's killed and remembered as a villain. However, since you asked what it would take for him to accept help and healing in an AU. It would very much be Sasuke. If Sasuke finds out the truth before their battle, he would go out of his way to ascertain his brother finds healing and justice.
Sasuke is Itachi's strength as well as his biggest weakness. I'm sure Sasuke would exploit that trait by himself once he realizes what can really trigger Itachi into giving in. No way Sasuke is letting Itachi rot and die like that.
I won't compare Itachi's circumstances with Nagato or Obito because they both willingly committed crimes because of their personal losses. Itachi is self-aware and knows his flaws and isn't proud of them. He doesn't need to be forgiven because he was deliberately placed in the circumstances where he had to make the choices that he did - one of the two evils. He needs healing and peace and an apology from the Leaf, not the other way round. His soul is damaged quite literally. The only one who can help him out of the darkness is Sasuke.
Itachi would need to understand that while he had a hand in the massacre, the blame lies on the government for its incompetence, and that he is a victim too. He needs to understand he's a human, not a tool he was made out to be since his childhood. He's allowed to feel things other than guilt and regret and pain. It might take years, but with Sasuke and some purpose in his life, he might be able to come to terms with it. It would be a rocky road for him because his stubbornness is his one flaw that would come in the way of his journey of healing.
_____
On a lighter note, if I'm allowed to take more liberty with the AU, I'll send him over to the Undying Lands in Tolkien's world. That is the only place he can truly find peace. And he'd be one of the mortals who would be accepted there. Thanks to Sasuke's love for him, he'd be able to go there too when Sasuke is old enough and free from the burden of protecting the world. And both the brothers can spend their final days in peace together.

This will take a while to write, I am going to write drabbles but unlike the genshin team comp request, most ask would probably be longer than that. So please be patient. I will write down all the requests I got below so if yours isn't there after 2 days of sending it send another one.
Request list
All requests are in a form of drabbles or if my hands slip a one-shot almost. No headcanons. (probably)
Follow me if you are gonna send a request and you are not gonna be anon. I lose a lot of motivation when I find out that people just want to take and leave when they got what they want.

❝The monster loved; that’s how it became monstrous.❞
⇾ villain verse ⇾ tag: color of pomegranate; thorns coiled around the sun ⇾ status: canon-divergent; open to interactions
An alternate interpretation of the Uchiha massacre and an essay on: what if Itachi, indeed, became the villain? All events in pre-massacre remain the same, the big point of divergence being that, when Itachi goes to talk to Danzo after finishing the slaughter, Danzo actually pulls on him the same dirty trick he did to Shisui - and takes one of Itachi's eyes (the Amaterasu eye/left eye). This betrayal, after he sacrificed everything for the village and for the sake of keeping the elders' names clear, is what makes Itachi snap for good and and cut ties with everything he once believed in and fought for. With his mental stability severely affected, he comes to the conclusion that the peaceful, unified shinobi world he'd like to see come true will never be a reality unless he takes matters into his own hands. So, from here on, Itachi's goal will be to amass enough power to one day take Konoha for himself - not to destroy it, but to 1) kill the elders and especially Danzo and 2) rule Konoha himself as a sort of Good Dictator to implement the rules and ways he believes to be right. Itachi truly aligns himself with the goals of Akatsuki and may even endorse Obito's ultimate plan, provided he gets dibs on Konoha.
