papa!simon and reader pre- children are something I loooovvveee to think about.
"So you're in the military?" You ask, swirling your straw around in your cup. "Sort of." He half smiles, watching your freshly manicured hands toy around with your drink. Simon was nervous- for what felt like the first time ever. After you said yes to dinner plans, he couldn't contain his excitement, he didn't sleep right, he was convincing himself to not show up at your work just to see you.
"What are you going to school for?" He looked back up at you, "Art history!" You smile, " What about you?"
"I didn't finish," He nodded, "But I've always wanted to, just had different plans." He shrugs, you only stare at his brown eyes, entranced with his deep smile lines.
After you both ate, you sat and talked til the restaurant closed, forcing you two to grab your things and leave.
"I know this twenty-four hour cafe, it has Gelato, if you want to go," You offer, back tracking the minute he doesn't respond, "Or we don't have to." You chuckle, "I like Gelato." He assures you, placing his hand on your arm, You smile at him, "It's this way." You say, swallowing a screech that was itching to come out.
-
"What flavor did you get?" You peer over his arm to get a look at his cup, "Lemon." He tips it so you can see, "You mean Limone" Simon scrunches his nose- cringing at your poor pronunciation (if you're Italian so srry), making you giggle, "That was horrible." He chuckles, You only laugh louder than before. "What about you?" He asks, the spoon held between his teeth. "I'm very boring, I got chocolate." You tip your cup over showing him, "That's very boring." He jokes, "Shut up." You nudge him, Simon barely moving from the action.
When the night ends, Simon walks you home to your over priced one bedroom apartment, your stomach sore from laughing to hard, your cheeks feeling like they've been stretched because of how much you've been smiling.
You didn't want the night to end, wishing you had more to talk about, praying something would fall out of the sky and crush your jobs building so you could stay out later.
You were standing on your doors step, prolonging your goodbyes. "I had fun," You grin, "You're funny Simon Riley." You place your hand on his buff shoulder (cause of course!), giving it a light squeeze. His charm making you feel like a teenager in love. "I'm glad you think I'm funny." He bites back a smile, he looks at his watch watching the time get later and later. "I would invite you in but, I don't think thats a good idea." You say softly, staring into his big brown eyes, noticing his thick eyebrows and lashes. "I don't think so either," He grins, your hand travels to the side of his face, holding his cheek, you place a kiss to his other cheek.
"Goodnight." You intone, making his grin wider, "goodnight." He says it back to you softly, watching you twist the door knob-you look back at him to wave bye. And like a school boy he wanders back to the hotel waiting for your call tomorrow.

Thinking about John Price taking care of you while you're sick(totally self indulgent)
CW: NSFW
And you're a stubborn idiot, you don't think you're that sick to stay in bed even if you can barely stand on your feet. He takes one look at you and before you know it he's corralling you back to your room, hands on your sides to keep you walking and answering all of your complaints with "Zip it. You're sick you bloody Muppet."
Price who scowls and flicks your forehead and calls you 'bad boy' when you attempt to get out of bed when he's not looking. Price who fluffs your pillow and pulls several different layers of sheets and quilts over you. Who makes you hot tea with lemon and ginger just like his nan used to make it and holds the steaming cup to your lips so you don't spill it. Who checks your temperature by pressing the back of his hand and his lips to your forehead because he knows that'll get you from squirming.
Price who lays down behind you when you're still shivering under all those layers, thick arms securely wrapping around your middle to pull you against his chest, your legs intertwining and his strong belly pressing against your back to leave not even an inch of space between you two, his breath fanning over the back of your neck, his beard scratching your skin as he kisses you there. His hands are warm as he gently rubs your aching muscles, raising one hand to instead card his fingers through your hair. "Get some sleep, I'll be here when you wake up." He says, voice low and calming and so safe you don't notice when you nod off.
But also Price smiling at you when you get hard but are too exhausted to have sex or rub one out. Price who settles between your thighs, rough hands shimmying your pajama bottoms and boxers down enough for your cock to spring up. Murmuring a soft "Stay down," against your stomach, pinning your hips down to keep you from bucking up when he pecks the tip of your cock and trails kisses down your shaft to the base, "That's a good lad," he humms against yours sensitive skin, "just relax 'n be good for me."
You can do nothing but groan, eyes rolling into the back of your skull amd eyelids closing as Price takes you into his hot mouth, lazily suckling on your shaft. He's not racing to finish you off, tongue moving slowly and methodically across the veins of your cock up to swirl around your sensitive head before going back down. He lets you float in the same mindless pleasure you like to give him after a rough week, all the tenseness in your body melting away bit by bit every time he swallows around you, pulling off to lick around the cumslit before taking you to the root, savouring the salty taste of your precum.
And you're so out of it you can't tell apart if you're dreaming or awake, pleasure simmering beneath the surface of your skin like a kettle until it boils over, a weak noise escaping the back of your throat and your hips giving small little bucks as you cum down his throat without even noticing. Your eyes only open when your frayed nerves register the slight sting of overstimulation, Price's clever tongue cleaning your cock and swallowing every last drop before he tucks you back into your boxers.
You try to say something, offer to get him off in return, but he just shushes you, "no need lad." He climbs up your body to spoon you from behind once again, his body like your personal heater. "You'll get that chance when you're better," he trails kisses from your jaw to the back of your neck, nuzzling his nose into your skin. "Now be a good lad and go to sleep, yeah?"

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles warm up round: bakery au rated: t | wc: 840 | cw: none | tags: pre-steddie Eddie never got involved in the upside down, he and Steve meet again a few years later in a bakery in Chicago
The bakery was Steve's pride and joy. It was something that he had accomplished and built up by himself, without the input from his parents. No financial assistance from them, no help in learning how to manage a business. It had been a lot of trial and error, and incredible support from his friends, but he had succeeded. He'd brought the small unit in Chicago using most of the hush money payment over the Upside Down. It needed a lot of work doing to it before he was ready to open it, but once it was open it just took off. Constantly selling out of most of the bakes by lunchtime each day, having to take on extra staff to keep up with demand.
After nearly two years, he had a number of very loyal regulars, the ones who would come in at the same times and same days each week, always ordering the same things. The local workers that would always come in before work or on a morning break for a sweet treat everyday. The older couples that would come in twice a week, once for a dessert for their weekly date nights, and once for treats for their grandchildren. The college students that were adamant that Steve's pastries were infinitely better than the ones they could get on campus.
But the newest regular, one his staff had nicknamed 'Mr Metal,' Steve had yet to meet. From the name, Steve assumed that he worked in the new record store that had opened across the street, but the man always managed to be in and out while Steve was still working in the kitchen, setting up the next batch for the oven or decorating what had just finished cooling.
One Friday morning, he was carrying out the boxes ready to restock the counter, when he heard the voice of Zara, one of the cashiers.
"Uh, I'm not sure. Give me a minute, I'll just have to ask the boss."
"Ask me what?" Steve asked as he rounded the counter, the stack of boxes obscuring most of his vision.
"Please tell me that those boxes have lemon cream cheese pastries and apple pie cookies in them." She replied, sounding a little stressed.
"Yeah, lemon are in the top box, apple in the bottom." Steve replied as he put the boxes down on the side, and started unstacking them. He glanced up at the customer, a vaguely familiar, handsome man, and from the long hair, piercings, and the Black Sabbath t-shirt, this had to be the Mr Metal that all the staff kept mentioning. "How many of each did you want?"
"Two of each." The man replied, staring hard at Steve.
"Uh huh." Steve worked quickly to box them up. "Are you aware of our Friday five for four offer? Five bakes for the price of four, so you could get another of your choice at no extra cost."
"I get them for me and my coworkers, theres four of us so I don't think we can split a fifth four ways without fighting over who gets what."
"I can always bag it separately, so you can slip it in your pocket. They don't have to know a thing about it." Steve offered with a wink.
"You drive a hard bargain, Harrington. I'll take another apple pie cookie."
"I-" Steve looked at the man, confused. Unsure how he knew his name. "Did you go to Hawkins, then? I'm sorry, I don't think I remember you."
"You got a table round here? I could climb up and start talking about jocks and conformity." He looked Steve up and down. "Though, you don't seem to conform to the jock image any more, big boy."
It took another moment, but the name hit Steve as he was bagging the extra cookie. "Munson. Used to buy weed off you."
"I don't know if I should be honored that the king remembers me, or wounded that it took so long."
Steve rolled his eyes at the dramatics, it reminding him even more of high school. "I don't remember most people now, too many concussions."
"Shit. But now you're boss of a bakery. How life changes."
"Yeah. It only took three serious concussions, two major disasters in Hawkins, and one disownment after getting caught behind The Hideout with Matty P. But then I realized that this is what I want to be doing."
"What were you doing behind The Hideout with Matty P? Smoking weed or something? I know you never hid about that."
"We had been smoking, but at that point my mouth was, uh, otherwise occupied." Steve admitted.
"Oh, shit." Eddie choked back a laugh, then looked at his watch. "I'd love to hear more about that, but I've got to get back to work."
Steve quickly wrote his number on the bag with the extra cookie, before handing it over. "Call me sometime, maybe we could spend some time together outside of work."
"You're on, Harrington." Eddie winked at Steve, before leaving the bakery.
im not the happiest with the end of this bc it was rushed after my brain turned to mush from migraines

supermarket adventures! ✭

pairing: kim seungmin x fem!reader
synopsis: a cute old lady approaches you one day you’re out buying your groceries, only for her grandchild to interrupt your chat.
genre: fluff, fluff, fluff. drabble.
warnings: can be read as non idol!au or as idol!au, none.
word count: 0.3k
part two.
a/n: just something short and sweet for our best puppy. (i wrote this in like 25 mins and didn’t proofread a lot sooo)
Tumblr media
buying groceries was no fun. or at least that was what your friends told you when you talked about it with them. you disagree. going around the different aisles of the supermarket, fighting against the prices to try and find the best product… it almost felt like therapy.
so once again, here you are. 9 a.m. in the morning and your local market is as busy as anyone would find it in the afternoon.
stopping right in front of the fruits, you take a glove and see which one of the mangos in front of you is the best one to bring home. it wouldn’t be the first time this supermarket scammed you.
a light tap on your left arm makes you turn, a short old lady dressed in pink is waiting for your attention. looking very barbie-like, you think.
“hi miss, would you kindly take some lemons for me? i am not able to reach them.”
she waits patiently while you make sure to pick the right ones. her big smile makes you want to do everything she ever asks you to, but before you can give her the lemons in your hands, a voice interrupts your movement.
“nana! what are you doing? i just left for one minute!”
a boy with fluffy looking hair appears behind the old lady. he has puppy eyes and a butter can in his hands.
“seungmin! i was just asking this pretty woman for some help,” she says with a warm tone.
the boy finally looks at you, his body stiff all of a sudden. he steps to his grandmother’s side, giving you a half smile. returning it, you hand him the lemons, small nod coming right after accompanied by the lady’s ‘thank you’.
after some seconds his smile grows wider and he turns to his grandmother. “let’s go pay for this, nana.”
linking his arm with hers, he starts walking to the checkout on the other side of the fruit aisle, one last look at you over his shoulder.
so buying groceries wasn’t fun, huh?

Operation Safe House | 1 |
Price needs a safe house, you have a safe house. Should be an easy deal, right? Well when he and the team appear in the middle of the night, you come across Ghost, Gaz and Soap, all who are unsure of you and the solitude that you have. The solitude that will soon beep broken when the people they are hunting show up unannounced. Characters – Reader (Reaper), Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz. Word Count – 2.3k Warnings – Mentions of rape, not stated out right but it is suggested.
‘Price.’ You greeted the man in front of you along with the other three men who were stood in the middle of your living room. ‘Reaper, you got space for four of us?’ Price asked, you rolled your shoulders. ‘Well you’re in.’ You commented, he gave you a shy smile. ‘Do you know your length of vacation?’ You asked, you could feel the three other men stare at you. ‘Unknown.’ Price replied, you hummed and nodded. ‘Very well.’ You said as you rolled your shoulders again and looked over the four men, their large forms seemed to take up the entire room. The door chapped and you watched as they all tensed up and moved to their guns. ‘Stay.’ You spat out, a finger stretched towards the two men, ‘Stay quiet.’ You warned them, the door chapped again, you walked into the small corridor before you opened the front door. Soap tilted his head as he watched Ghosts reaction and tried to listen to the conversation but all he could make out was mumbles. The door was then shut before your footsteps sounded and you reappeared. ‘You’ll have to bunk the night, they’re watching.’ You replied, Price nodded and stood up. ‘How many?’ ‘Three, two were in the van but I believe they might have a sniper and more in the back.’ You explained, Prince pinched the bridge of his nose. ‘Let me shut the curtains then you can move freely.’ You told them and moved around them as you pulled the curtains over. ‘Price I don’t think this is a good option.’ Soap said, he cautiously looked in the direction that you went in. ‘It might not be but it’s better than taking our chances with them.’ Price explained, Soap ran his tongue over his dry lips. ‘What about Reaper?’ Gaz asked, Ghost was relieved that he wasn’t the one to ask. ‘She’s fine.’ Price replied as you appeared at the doorway. ‘Lights go out at twenty-three hundred hours, any later and the neighbours will notice.’ You said, the men nodded. ‘What about weapons?’ Soap asked, you tilted your head to the side. ‘Follow me.’ ‘Top drawer, left hand side, two cupboards above you,’ you pointed to behind Gaz, he turned and opened the doors to reveal the guns hung inside, ‘fruit bowl and then they two.’ You said, as you tapped the two doors, Soap walked over to the fruit bowl and moved the lemon and limes to the side before he came across hand grenades. Ghost opened the last two cupboard doors as Price appeared beside him, they stepped back at the makeshift armoury. Ghost looked to Price who looked please before he turned as you reappeared with a gun that looked comically large compared to you but you handled it with ease. ‘Bedrooms upstairs, don’t go snooping in my shit.’ You warned as you checked you gun, the boys froze as you looked at them from the doorway. ‘Why do you have so much?’ Gaz quizzed, his eyes wide as looked over the selection. ‘I’m in charge of safe housing and have a few jobs with contractors.’ You informed them, lowering the gun to your side. ‘Don’t worry, I don’t know your names, ranks or ages I only know Prices name since he’s been here many times and your code names, I stay away and protect.’ You added when you noticed Soap and Ghost share a look, you looked between the two men and Soap nodded
‘You don’t have to lurk in the shadows.’ You commented, your gaze didn’t break from the computer screen that casted a bright glare over your face, the glasses did nothing to protect your eyes from the glare that seeped off them. ‘I’m not.’ He said as he walked forward, he had ditched the plastic skull but still supported the black balaclava, ‘Plus, you’re not doing much watching.’ He accused you, you arched an eyebrow as you reached forward and picked up the remote before you pressed a button. The TV to his left light up and the multiple rectangles came to life, he turned and watched. ‘I take protecting the people that come in here seriously, I understand that it’s hard to trust but…’ you trailed off, flashes of the flames appeared and your grip tightened, ‘I don’t make it a habit of letting my employees die.’ You finished, his gaze moved over you before he turned to the camera. ‘You can sit with me if you’d like but don’t expect a conversation.’ You told him, you gestured to the couch which he took two steps over before he dropped into it, a groan escaped him as he rested his muscles.
‘Where you going?’ A ruff voice asked, Ghost he was still sat on the couch that he hadn’t left all night, his large arms crossed over his chest. ‘A run.’ You replied, the hoodie over you head. ‘You’re leaving us here?’ ‘My routine keeps you safe especially when the men are still outside.’ You stated before you walked away from them and shut the door behind him.
They all jerked when the key slid into the lock and the door opened, you said goodbye to someone before you stepped in and shut the door. ‘It’s just me.’ You called out as you chucked your keys into the small bowl and slid your shoes off. ‘Do you do anything other than sit around?’ You asked, the same somber looks as they took in your sweat covered one. ‘Are they still there?’ Gaz asked. ‘Yup.’ You replied, you removed your phone from your pocket, ‘I’m gonna go shower, then we can discuss the plan.’ You said and made eye contact with Price who nodded. You gave him a small nod in return before you removed your headphones and sat them on the kitchen counter. You then grabbed the bottom of your shirt and pulled it over your shoulder, you could instantly feel them look at you before looking away but the ragged scar started under your ribs and ended at centre of your back caught their attention. You chucked the wet T-shirt over to the washing machine and turned around, which revealed more scars, smaller but littered across your stomach, chest and across your shoulders. You ignored the looks, everyone reacted the same when they saw them but you continued the short distance to the bathroom. ‘How’d you meet her?’ Gaz asked when the door shut, Price lifted his head. ‘Seven years ago.’ He said his brows furrowed, the water was switched on, ‘She was a field officer before her accident but she decided to become a contractor.’ Price started. ‘Accident?’ Soap asked, Price hesitated he didn’t know if he should tell them or not. ‘Reaper was apart of a group like us, her and five others went on a mission, two months later she walked back to base covered in scars and refused to talk for a month.’ He said, Gaz turned and looked in the direction you went, feeling like he was hearing a dirty secret. ‘Turns out her heli was knocked out the sky, no comms or anything worked. The other members had died on or shortly after impact but she survived.’ He finished, Ghost lowered his head. ‘What happened?’ Soap asked, Price shrugged. ‘We don’t know, Reaper never told us anything about they months.’ ‘You’ll need to stay another night.’ You stated as you reappeared, the men watched as you moved to the desk you and Ghost had sat at last night. ‘Should we ask why?’ Price quizzed, you shrugged a shoulder before you pressed the button and the security cameras came up on the screen. ‘They haven’t changed out, they’re planning something.’ ‘Or they could disappear within an hour.’ Gaz stated, you raised a shoulder in a shrug, you focused back on Price. ‘That or they are waiting for reinforcements.’ Price said, his brows pinched together as you lowered your head. ‘Why wait? They’ve marked the house, watched it for two days but it’s only been me they’ve saw.’ Soap said, you rolled your wrists. ‘Infrared? They probably know we’re here.’ Gaz suggested, you shook your head. ‘Can’t use it on the house.’ ‘What the house is state of the art, comes with in walls and floor heating.’ You commented, ‘the pipes run below and above us creates a massive bubble.’ You explained, they looked shocked. ‘Windows?’ Soap asked. ‘Bullets can’t get through, might break at a rocket launcher – hasn’t been tested though.’ You told them truthfully. ‘I might need to break one rule Price.’ You said, Price turned to you. ‘What?’ He asked. ‘Who’s chasing you?’ You asked, focused on the computer as you clicked through programmes before you stopped. ‘The Russian’s.’ Price told you, your brow pinched together. ‘Why are they here in London?’ You quizzed, ‘Bigger trading area.’ Gaz said, you ran your tongue over your teeth. ‘Great.’ You sighed.
You held the gun with one hand as you lowered onto your knees and spread them out, you continued bending until the gun's legs touched the ground. You shifted to lie on your dominant side before you pulled that knee up, the handle of the gun rested on your shoulder and you breathed. ‘Reaper.’ The voice called out, you moved to find them, ‘Or should I call you Y/N?’ The Russian asked, your shoulders tensed up. ‘I knew you were familiar, I had friends raving about you over in Berlin.’ ‘Do the men that your protecting know that you willingly spread your legs for the boss?’ He asked, you lowered the rifle. ‘Enough about me,’ you shouted loudly, he smiled widely, ‘if you’re accusing me of this I feel like I should know your name.’ You said, the area was silent. ‘Percy. Percy Markov.’ He introduced himself. ‘He’s the lead we need.’ Prices voice came through the comms, he’s more than that you thought. ‘I don’t like talking up to you, it hurts my neck, could you come down?’ Percy asked, you tilted your head to the side and allowed it to touch the cold metal, and you groaned. ‘Reaper be careful.’ Price warned you, you pushed yourself up with a grunt. ‘Come on Price, he just wants to talk.’ ‘Don’t kill him.’ He warned, you scoffed as you passed him on your way down the stairs, Soap and Gaz waited in line with him. You opened the door, noticing the group of armed men that stood on the road. Your eyes darted around before they pinpointed on Percy, his hair had been cut since that last time you had saw him, his skin still pale but decorated with the tattoos. Percy smiled when he spotted you. ‘Step outside.’ Percy said, ‘no weapons.’ He added, you tilted your head to the side before you reached behind your back and pulled the dagger free from your waist band. You showed it to Percy before you turned and held your hand out to Ghost who was just behind the door. His gloved hand accepted it. ‘And the one of your ankle.’ Percy added, your eyes flickered to the side before you balanced on one leg and slipped your fingers into your boot and pulled the sharpened blade out. You lifted you gaze and met Ghost’s as you handed it to him.
‘Reaper.’ Ghost grumbled, your jaw clenched. ‘Come on Y/N I don’t have all day.’ Percy complained, you blinked slowly. ‘I want to savour my time alive.’ You called back, you gaze then locked on Ghost’s before you stepped forward. ‘I need you to trust me for the next five minutes.’ You whispered to him, knowing your conversation was blocked by the door, you pulled back enough to see him nod. ‘Why are so sure that you’ll die?’ Percy asked as you stepped over the barrier, he stepped closer. ‘Because I’m going to do a stupid thing.’ You admitted to him, his brows furrowed together before you gave him a polite smile. He ducked his head and returned the smile, but it was quickly wiped off when you stretched out, the side of your hand connected with his throat. Percy buckled over and you wrapped an arm around his shoulders, you pulled him tight to your chest as you grabbed the small pistol that sat on his hip. Emptying the clip out you watched his men drop, uncaring if you had hit them or not as you turned and kicked Percy into the house. He stumbled backwards and tripped on the small ledge, his back collided with the floor before you chucked his empty gun across the street and jumped in. Within seconds of you slamming the door shut and flipping the locks on, Percy was in handcuffs as you dragged him to the living room. ‘You bitch.’ Percy groaned, as Soap and Ghost hauled him up and into a wooden chair provided by Gaz. ‘Oh, he’s alive.’ You said as you squatted down in front of him. ‘We’ll start hunting your neighbours.’ He hissed out, you pursed your lips and tipped your head. ‘Hard chance.’ You replied, Percy and the group looked at you confused. ‘There are no neighbours, I wouldn’t put innocents at risk.’ You explained. ‘Now, these men are going to ask you questions and you’re going to answer.’ ‘And if I don’t?’ ‘I will peel your skin from your body whilst you watch.’ You told him calmly, this affected him as he glanced to the men before he looked back at you. ‘Do they know what happened to you?’ Percy quizzed, jutting his chin to them. ‘No, we’ve only just met.’ ‘Did you know she killed her teammates?’ He asked, the men didn’t react, but Ghost watched as you stood to your full height. He was sure he heard some of the bones cracking. ‘Her intel led the team right to them, watched as they crashed and burned before her.’ He taunted, you raised an eyebrow as you nodded, ‘Then she joined them, worked alongside them and spread her legs as her pay to them.’ You rolled your shoulders and stepped forward, your face void of all emotion. Percy’s eyes widened slightly before you smiled down at him. ‘The men have questions to ask.’ You told Percy, occasionally thumps connected with the front door as his henchmen shot at it.
‘The police will be here.’ Percy sneered, this seemed to stop the men from going any further. ‘Ask away.’ You motioned to him, Percy continued to fight the restraints. ‘The police?’ Gaz asked, you shook your head. ‘Unless I enter a code, no police come to this street.’ You said, you walked into the kitchen and poured yourself a drink. ‘So, you can get messy and he can scream like the pig he is.’ You told them before you downed the glass. ‘Heard you spread your legs for them.’ Percy said, Price and Soap looked at you as Ghost continued to stare at him, ‘Specifically the boss, had a soft spot for him didn’t you.’ You clenched your jaw and looked at him, the wide smile taunting you. ‘Two months was a long time to survive there, you must have some really good p -,’ ‘Why are you so fascinated with me?’ You cut, he looked at you, the bloody nose dripped over his lips. ‘I’m not fascinated with you.’ ‘No?’ You quizzed, he shook his head, ‘all you’ve talked about is me, my past and my wrong doings.’ You listed, Percy’s face dropped slightly. ‘Why are you really in London?’ You asked him, he looked at you as he raised an eyebrow. ‘Percy, you better talk or I’ll use my skills that you know so much about.’ You threatened. ‘Fine.’ You said, you almost heard his exhale in relief as you turned and opened a drawer. The items inside knocked against each other before you rummage around, the men watched as you smiled and stuck you hand in the drawer, you pulled it out with a wooden rolling pin clutched tightly. ‘I’ll give you ten goes to answer the question, then I’ll move onto your toes.’ You said, calmly whilst you chucked the rolling pin up and caught it. You walked over to him, he started to panic and you smiled, quickly you stretched a hand out and wrapped it around his wrist. You yanked it forward, he yelped as he tried to fight it. Carefully you moved your wrist down his hand, you pulled a finger free and rested it over the edge of the armrest. ‘Why are you in London?’ You asked, he glared at you whilst he remained silent. You pursed your lips and nodded before you brought the rolling pin down, his finger snapped loudly as he yelled, you ignored it as you extended his middle finger. ‘Why here?’

Seonghwa, Yunho and Wooyoung returned to the house at around four in the morning, each carrying two crates. As soon as they stepped through the door, they were greeted by Hongjoong as he made his way down the stairs, blue tufts of hair bouncing on his head.
“How’d it go?” He asked over his shoulder as they followed him into the kitchen and dropped her crates on the countertop.
Seonghwa shrugged and opened the first crate as Wooyoung and Yunho moved to the living room. “The usual. The prices went up though, 300 thousand per five bags.”
With an understanding nod, Hongjoong took a seat on one of the island stools. He reached for a different crate and pulled it towards him, looking through it before pulling out a translucent white bag, a thick red liquid swishing around inside. After taking a look at the label, he snapped his fingers. A thin wine glass appeared on the counter and it didn’t take him too long to open the bag and pour its contents in the cup.
“Did you get some O neg for San? He said he’s running out,” he asked after taking a refreshing sip.
“Yeah, probably enough to keep him satisfied for a few months.”
While they were quite open to drinking any type of blood, they had preferences. Some of them preferred sweeter tastes (usually O or B-type blood as they taste somewhat like the sweetness you’d get from honey) and others preferred more sour tastes (such as A-type blood, a taste that resembled the slight sourness you’d get from a cherry). However, with San, he’d always been in a bit of a tricky situation…
O-type blood, specifically of the negative sort, is considered one of the rarer types of blood. The demand for it can get pretty high, which in turn also makes prices hike up quite a bit. Typically blood vendors wouldn’t have a lot of O-negative stocked which can sometimes be a bit concerning. Especially because that’s the only blood type that San’s body can process.
But, fortunately, they didn’t have to worry about that too much since their go-to vendor always had some of that prestigious type.
Around the country, there were different vendors for blood bags—blood-banks. Unfortunately, the closest one to their house was a 2-hour drive, so it was inconvenient to constantly go and come back with the bare minimum amount they would need for a week. Usually, the bags get stocked and sold to vampires and after a month, anything that wasn’t sold would be donated to local hospitals on behalf of a ‘private blood donation organisation.’
Of course, many vampires preferred to get blood directly from the source (A.K.A. suck it out of people’s necks themselves), since it had a sweeter, fresher taste. But, alas, this was also too inconvenient for the boys living in this lavish mansion. They’d have to consider too many things before sucking the blood directly from a human, so they opted for just buying it in bags.
“That’s more than enough I think.” Hongjoong swirled the blood in the glass one more time before downing the rest of it and wiping the excess on his chin with the back of his hand. “Thank you.”
Once Seonghwa finished moving all the blood bags to the fridge, the two men moved to the living room and joined the rest of their cluster mates. San, Mingi and Yeosang were playing some video game on the TV; Jongho sat in an armchair and read a book, occasionally glancing to see how the game was going; Wooyoung sat on the ground with his head in San’s lap and Yunho sat cross-legged on the couch, narrating the game like a football narrator.
“Yeosangie, did Y/N get home safe?” Wooyoung asked as the round ended and Yeosang passed his controller to Yunho. A fond smile stretched itself onto the blond’s face as he nodded gently, thinking back to the way you had slept so peacefully in his car, light snores filling the silence of the vehicle.
“Who’s Y/N?” San asked, tilting his head down to look at Wooyoung.
“She’s an art student. We were each paired with one to work on a project. She actually came over here a few hours ago so we could start working a bit,” he explained. “I like her, she’s very pretty. A bit stubborn though, I almost had to fight her because we couldn’t agree on something. But I don’t think she’s very fond of me.” He concluded with a pout.
“Jongho also met her before, more or less,” Yeosang added, looking at the youngest as he shifted in his chair, “she works at that bookstore that you go to sometimes.”
The theatre student in question looked up, blinking at the ceiling and tilting his head as he tried to remember. He grimaced “The one that smells like a rotten lemon?”
“No,” Yeosang was quick to deny, not wanting any of the men that hadn’t met her to get the wrong impression. “The one that smells delicious.”
They talked about you for another ten minutes, Wooyoung recounting his experience working with you and Yeosang explained how you two had met. His brothers poked some fun at him, making it sound like he’d fallen head over heels for the girl that regularly ordered an iced latte with triple sugar. He swatted their teasing comments away but blushed the shade of Jongho’s hair when Wooyoung mentioned he’d seen some sketches in her sketchbook that looked an awful lot like him.
“If he liked her I wouldn’t really blame him,” Seonghwa had laughed, perfectly straight white teeth on display. “She’s intriguing.”
So, yeah, they all agreed there was something interesting about you. The ones that hadn’t met you tried coming up with ways to meet you, and the ones that had tried coming up with ways to meet you again. All the while Wooyoung giggled, knowing he’d have to spend the most time with you and loving the fact he could rub it into everyone’s faces.
But, for now, they wanted to spend their weekend relaxing and being lazy without constantly thinking about some cute girl. (That was a lie. Even though they would deny it, Wooyoung couldn’t deny the way his mind wandered to you every hour, wondering what you were up to; Seonghwa thought of you every time he stepped into the kitchen and if he concentrated hard enough—which he did for a single reason—he was sure he could still smell your sweet vanilla aroma wafting through the air; Jongho worked his way through his books faster so he could go to your book store and Yeosang spent his day at work hoping you’d walk through the door.)
You didn’t really question it, but were still mildly confused, when you walked out of the art studio the next Monday and saw Wooyoung standing against the wall, waiting for you. Students ogled as they passed by him and some talked and laughed extra loudly to get his attention, but his eyes remained on you.
Approaching him, you raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
“Picking you up, obviously.” He rolled his eyes playfully, reaching for your hand and dragging you out of the building. “I had another idea. I want to be able to do more for this project, so I’m going to choreograph and film a dance that we could maybe display at the exhibition with, like, a projector or something. You know, so we both contribute to this—equally. How does that sound?”
When he stopped and turned around to face you, he had to stop himself from cooing at your face as you thought. Your face was directed at him but your eyes looked unfocused, lower lip caught between your teeth as you tried to visualise his idea. Finally, you gave an approving hum and nod.
“That actually doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea,” you nodded as he resumed leading you to wherever it is he wanted to go. “Maybe the paintings could be based on pieces of your choreography.”
“Yeah, that’s also a great idea!” He cheered enthusiastically, a bright smile different from the usual mischievous one you see plastered on his lips. “Oh, also!” He stopped again as he remembered something, tugging on the hand that he still held within his colder one to get you to face him. “We’re gonna be hosting a party, you should come!”
Now that was something a bit harder for you to agree with.
“Oh, I don’t know…” The insecurity in your face dwindled as your words trailed off. “Parties aren’t really my thing.”
“Please, Y/N, just this once.” He gave you his best puppy eyes and pleading voice. “The rest of the guys want to meet you, and what better place than a party where you can let loose?”
You decided it was a tempting proposal. After a long, torturing pause, you finally sighed, “Fine. When is it?”
Excitement lit up on Wooyoung’s face and you could’ve sworn his brown eyes nearly started sparkling. “We were planning on Saturday, but we haven’t made the announcement yet so we could always change it if you want.”
The pure joy he felt faltered for a second as your face fell.
“I’m not available on Saturdays, so Friday or Sunday would work better for me if that’s ok.”
Instantly, he began nodding. “Yeah, we could do it on Friday. What do you do on Saturdays, if cou don’t mind me asking?”
Ah, shit. I did not think this far ahead. You smacked yourself mentally, scrambling to come up with a plausible excuse. If he found your hesitation suspicious, he didn’t say anything about it as he awaited your answer. Instead, he watched with interest, loosely swinging your conjoined hands from side to side.
“Oh, you know. I study and catch up on all the sleep I usually miss.”
Wooyoung narrowed his eyes at you, lips pursed and a contemplative hum ringing from him until he nodded and resumed his walk once again. “Okay. I’ll send you the address later, it won’t be at our house—last time someone broke the chandelier.”
“What chandelier?” Your brows furrowed as you briefly looked up to him. It was then that you realised he was still holding your hand, so as discreetly as possible, you tugged on it and hoped he would get the hint.
“Exactly.”
After a few more tugs it seemed like he finally noticed, his grip loosened and you were able to slip your hand out.
“Do you have any classes for the rest of the day?”
You shook your head after trying and succeeding to remember your schedule. “No, why?”
“Great, let’s go eat!”

ONE OF THEM [PART 4]
-> Dating your best friend Eddie Munson might have been pictured differently in your head. Despite a blissful weekend, you’re met with a few bumps in the road; and, your friends slowly figure out that what you're doing in private crosses the boundaries between friend and lover.
-> eddie munson x you (she/her)
-> friends to lovers, secret relationship, angst
-> warnings - strong language and suggestive scenes [no smut]
[Part 4] [Part 5 - Coming Soon]
This is a sequel to One of the Boys
-> <-
“Do you think he has plans for that asparagus, or does he just need a friend?” Eddie’s head is tilted just to the right, while he studies the man across the aisles.
You plop five plump potato’s into a plastic sack provided by the grocery store, and hum a soft tune to yourself. Ignoring Eddie, you take the sack and drop it down onto the metal scale to imagine the price point.
When you move, however, Eddie is frozen in time. His eyes move past the displays of fresh lemons and limes, and over the apples and pears. A man is scratching his finger over the Saran Wrap tucking a set of asparagus in a tight film. Peering through Coke bottle glasses, he pouts his bottom lip and then puts the produce back.
“You’ve been watching him for a while?” You try to sound less irritated than you are. Shopping with Eddie got easier once you asked him to push the cart. In a way, this tethered him to you because he kept his hands busy and off of the shelves where he insisted on touching everything.
Eddie doesn’t mean any harm, after all he is just looking. Suppose he looks for a bit too long and he’s a bit distracted, then you’ll correct him with a sour sort of ‘come on, Eddie,’ like his uncle Wayne does sometimes. But, his uncle never buys fresh potatoes. Eddie has got no idea what you’ll do with those. When you told him you wanted to make dinner for him tonight, he thought the box of mashed potatoes was fine enough and the steaks in the back of the freezer had only been there a few months - or a year. Who can tell the difference?
You surely can.
When you suggested that he come with you to go to the grocery store, he saw the glee on your face. He can’t say no to you.
There’s something soft about the way you’re touching everything on purpose. You studied those potatoes like the man did with his asparagus, but when you got a little pouty, Eddie’s heart fluttered in his chest.
You’ve got one hand on the cart, so to him you feel connected even if you’re not holding onto each other. Guiding him in the right direction down the isle, he'll never get lost as long as you're there with him.
Eddie is damn near snoozing by the end of the laundry list of grocery items. There is only six, but that's six too many. You offer to buy him something sweet in exchange for his patience with you.
“Did you want to go to the little bakery? They’ve probably got chocolate cake or cookies,” you wiggle at the end of the cart.
Eddie straightens his back at this.
“Sure, but no chocolate,” he shakes his head. “I don’t like that stuff.”
“You don’t like chocolate,” you’re more taken aback than he imagined you might be. “But, what about the chocolate cake I made you for your birthday two years ago, and the cupcakes I made for your birthday this year! You said they were the best. I even kept the recipe!”
“Sweetheart,” he catches up to you, so he can wrap an arm around your shoulders. “How could I possibly tell you that I didn’t like chocolate when you’d spend all day baking for me? Hm? I really did appreciate the gesture. You know- among the thick layers of goo- oof!”
You’ve elbowed him in the side. Rightfully so! Smiling into the case of donuts, you make a beeline for the grinning worker behind the counter.
“Can I get a loaf of- erm, that one,” you’re not sure how to pronounce the name.
Eddie’s gone when you spin around with your bread loaf. Eyeing the treats, he aims for a small cherry pie. He pulls his hand back and shakes his head. Your boyfriend flicks his hair behind his ears because as much as he likes his hair, he does get hot sometimes. Boyfriend.
Eddie Munson is your boyfriend.
Have you said that out loud yet?
“The bread,” you announce like he’s memorized dinner plans.
Eddie shocks you, “steak next, right?”
Aisles of produce pass you by like time ticking on a clock. You’ve gotten everything on your list by now that Eddie clutches in your hand. Time wastes on because you don’t want to go home quite yet. You’re in control of the cart, and Eddie’s bounding between aisles to show you something ‘cool’ he’s found.
The cart slowly is taken over by snacks you haven’t planned to spend money on, but you do anyway because Eddie’s joy means more to you than a dollar.
Eddie pops a rope candy in his mouth, while you organize the cashier belt in line.
“Don’t forget the bags,” Eddie pulls some plastic bags from the bottom of the cart that you keep in your house. You reuse them as long as possible, and Eddie finds this endearing.
“Thanks,” you put them in the front of the groceries already stacked on the belt.
Eddie tosses a wrapped piece of chocolate onto the belt you hadn’t seen him grab from the shelves.
“I thought of you,” he taps the wrapper, before the belt sweeps the sweet away. “It’s got caramel. Your favorite, right?”
"It is," you sigh completely defeated that he knows more about you than you about him.
"My favorite is cherry," he swings the licorice in the air.
“Sir,” the cashier’s lips thin. “You’re paying for that, right?”
Eddie’s chewed through the whole package of candy by now, and humorously he’d like to imply that he’s not. But with you in mind, he hands the woman the wrapper without fuss. You wrap onto his arm like a child, and he places another kiss to the top of your head.
You’re paying for the grocery run today, but Eddie promises that the next time you’re shopping together that he will pay. The conversation floats past your ears because you’re just thrilled there will come a next time.
The van is waiting for you in the parking lot, where Eddie tosses you the keys to unlock the doors. He’s busy rummaging through the back trying not to rattle his band equipment, but he does use the inside of the drums to steady the dozen eggs.
“Are you buckled?” Eddie climbs into the drivers side.
You’re set in the passenger seat with the chocolate that Eddie bought for you. Using his thumb, he swipes at your chin where you’ve smeared melted chocolate on by accident.
“I’m buckled,” you tighten the seatbelt. “Do you want a bite?”
“No, but could you hand me the hamburger back there?”
You scrunch your nose. “How long has that been there?”
“Eh.. like a couple days?”
“Eddie!”
Laughter fills the corners of the van like a harmonious song. Well tuned - perfectly pitched.
-> <-
Eddie is an awful cook.
Finding your attention drawn onto the sharp knife in your hand, slicing potatoes into chunks, you’re not watching Eddie scrambling behind you. He’s got two spoons in his hands, but he scratches his head at what for. It isn’t until you’re gasping at the blackened smoke coming from the stove.
Flipping the carrots around in the pan, Eddie’s apologizing over and over. You reassure that the carrots still could be edible, but judging by the blackened bottoms, you both know well-enough to toss them.
You’re putting the potatoes into the hot water, only burning the tips of your fingers.
Eddie’s in control - er, sort of - cutting up new carrots. Following along what you did earlier, you bite your tongue at the massive pinches of black pepper and salt he’s added. Tablespoon or teaspoon? He’s got no clue!
“I’ll keep an eye out this time,” he holds a staring contest with the searing hot pan that’s still a bit too hot for the carrots.
You turn the burner down, and flick the carrots around until the smoke clears. Eddie groans, and takes over because he doesn’t like being micromanaged. It’s all in good fun, though. He does find being in the kitchen with you quite homey.
Homey.
Eddie’s never had that feeling before. Last time he’s felt at home, no offense to Wayne, was when his mom found him hidden in the cupboards of their little house. Sure, life wasn’t perfect for the Munsons, but his mom always kept the court dates and the legal shit out of his eye the best she could.
When she died, a part of Eddie had too. He misses the warm hugs and kisses, the way she lets him lick the spoon when she makes cookies from the tube.
But, alas, if his life was perfect then he wouldn’t be here with you. Eddie finds himself feeling pretty perfect anyway because you’re there. You’re humming a tune to yourself, as you twist the timer to twenty minutes. Old and barely alive, the timer clicks on like a mighty oak.
“Twenty minutes until the potatoes are done,” you swirl around to Eddie. He knows the sigh coming from your mouth is less about the exhaustion from cooking, as it is dealing with him in the kitchen. “What should we do while we wait?”
Eddie places his hands on your cheeks, and brings you into his chest. Chest to chest. Heart to heart. Beating rhythms of your hearts pump between you two. You’ve got your ear to his breast imagining what’s dancing around in there.
Unintentionally, Eddie flicks the backing of your bra. A flame ignites inside you. Did he notice? Did he mean too?
Are you even prepared if the night falls that way?
You’re a bundle of nerves knowing that when that moment drops, and the both of you find yourself even closer than you are now that nothing could be the same. Going back isn’t an option. Swirling stars cloud your vision, as your breathing slows.
Eddie hums when your grip on his back loosens. He sways with you, while you’re drifting farther into your head.
Skies of warm orange and cotton candy coated pinks cloud your eye. Touching a garden of soft spring flowers. Ridges of the stone bridge. A kiss is pressed onto your forehead like a dew drop, raising you from your state of hypnosis.
“You still with me?” Eddie’s voice vibrates through your ears.
“Hm,” you hum. “Should we sit down?”
Eddie guides you to the couch where you’ll stay drifting into your own world with a blanket draped over your lap. You attempt to join him in the kitchen when the timer goes off, but Eddie raises his index finger and says,
“Don’t you dare.”
Then, your boyfriend wrestles with the oven to get the roast from it’s hot cage and plops too much butter into the mash. He winces when he puts the spoon to his lip, and tries to fend off your worry by telling you that the food is just hot.
Eddie sits next to you with two plates of food - one in each hand. He waits a moment for you to sit back up after sinking into the aged sofa, then lands the warm plate in your lap.
You’ve got no idea what you’re watching on the television, but right beside you is all the entertainment you need. Laughing heartily at Eddie’s cross expression, he sticks out his tongue at the well-done carrots.
“Don’t eat them,” he reaches for a glass of water. “They’re really awful.”
You nibble at the end of a carrot, and suck down your outward terror at how salty the vegetable is.
“It’s not that bad.”
They are indeed that bad.
Worse - even.
“You’re cute, but a terrible liar,” he pinches your shoulder.

15 fics with Militant Harry
I don’t know you guys but I’m equally soft for recluse!Harry and for militant!Harry. Maybe because I’m a sucker for political fics? Truth is, seeing Harry get involved can be so thrilling and inspiring. He doesn’t need to be attached to the Ministry to care about people - I love it when he’s doing the good deed behind the scenes, dismantling corruption while on the run, funding charities or unapologetically using his fame and voice to leverage better policies for those who are marginalized. That’s such a beautiful and powerful Harry trope imo, and the best thing is that in many of the fics I highlight below, Draco either seduces him into joining the revolution, or is there to inspire and help him along the way. Talk about a power couple! I hope you all enjoy these as much as I did ♥️
A Little Death Never Hurt Anyone by @tackytigerfic (E, 4k)
Harry's getting good at slipping through the Veil. He's determined to win the war, even if means he has to raise the dead to do it. Draco just wants a stiff drink and a good night's sleep.
And Save Me From Bloody Men by @blamebrampton (T, 10k)
Draco Malfoy once watched others fighting to stop the world falling apart. This time, he's not just watching.
Two Zinnias and the Scent of Lemon by @the-starryknight (M, 16k)
The Ministry didn’t turn bad overnight. Harry didn’t suddenly turn rogue either. Between covert Legilimency links and Polyjuice disguises and running and running and running, Draco has forgotten what it is like to have a safe harbor that isn’t a person. If there’s an art to fighting back, then they’ll find it hand in hand.
Vortex by @xanthippe74 (T, 20k)
Ten years after that conversation, the idea of perfectly-matched soulmates feels more like a curse than a blessing to Draco. Who would want a soulmate who was a schoolyard bully, a Death Eater, and a convicted felon? Certainly not Harry Potter. And Draco is determined to take this secret to the grave.
Unfinished Business by cupiscent (E, 20k)
Ten years after the War ends, Harry and Draco still haven't got their act together. But maybe it's not too late.
Doing the Lambeth Walk by @blamebrampton (T, 26k)
There are only three traditional choices for the cashed-up hero after victory. Harry Potter is too young to settle down and provide the wizarding world with a happy ending, and has too acute a sense of humour to spiral downwards into a spectacular flame-out. That leaves a life of good works. Choosing to lead it in Muggle Brixton comes with its own set of challenges, including Malfoys in the biscuit aisle.
The Nobility of Ascent by Lomonaaeren (E, 27k)
Not even his own fame and power are enough to get the Wizengamot to pass laws protecting Muggleborn and orphaned children, so Harry swallows his pride and goes to Draco Malfoy, who can teach him how to convince the prejudiced old bastards to listen to him. And Malfoy hasn’t even named a price. Which…concerns Harry, but he’s found a cause worth living for. And maybe someone, too.
Little Compton Street (One Rainy Night in Soho) by @writcraft (E, 65k)
Draco is lonely, Harry hates the press and it won’t stop raining in London. Harry discovers a magical street that’s close to disappearing forever and Draco realises he’s one rainy night in Soho away from finding everything he’s been searching for.
A Young Radical's Guide to Love by @blamebrampton (T, 66k)
Memories of the war are still fresh, which is all the excuse Decent People need to do appalling things. In this quietly waged conflict, Draco Malfoy is happy to be on the right side of things for once, and even happier to find he’s not alone.
Dear Enemy by GingerTodgers (T, 69k)
An anonymous benefactor makes a generous donation to Harry Potter's School for Squibs in exchange for a weekly letter from the Boy Who Lived. What begins as a chore soon becomes the only outlet Harry has to talk about the war, love, life, hope, redemption, his renewed obsession with a certain blonde nemesis and how he really, honestly, believes that this will be the year Puddlemere United reclaim the Quidditch League Cup.
Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love by @aibidil (E, 80k)
In which a group of wizards' rights activists goes on the offensive after a prohibition against love potions, forcing the magical world to confront the horror of magic's role in sexual assault and the murky legal nature of consent. Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Draco are swept together to solve the case, and in the process they're made to confront their own love and lust—with and without potions.
Super Rich Kids by @thusspoketrish (E, 81k)
Draco Malfoy has become disillusioned by the glitz and glamour of the scandalous lives of the Post-Second Wizarding War Pureblood Elite. Enter: one existential crisis, one group of thieving cynical friends, and several terrible, terrible decisions.
Little Deaths and How to Avoid Them (or Draco Malfoy's Guide to Stop Dying and Start Living Instead) by nerakrose (T, 96k)
Malfoy is way too interested in coroner reports for somebody who's definitely not looking for ways to die, Harry wants to be friends with him, and Ginny wants to break up with Harry.
Who we are in the shadows by @quicksilvermaid (E, 100k)
What happens when you’re forced to become the very thing you despise? Ex-Auror Harry Potter, tossed out of the Ministry for something he had no control over, has been looking for a way back to his former life. When he comes across Draco Malfoy in the criminal underbelly of Wizarding London and in need of protection, Harry figures bringing him in to face the Ministry's justice is his ticket back to everything he's lost.
By the Grace by lettered (T, 140k)
Harry is an Auror instructor. Malfoy wants to be an Auror.

You'll be mine (John Price x reader x Tangerine)
Note: fem!reader, special appearance by John Price from CoD. I'll let you decide how it ends. Will Tan win her over? Fuck it, let's vote at the end.
--
“You asked your girlfriend to join us?” Tangerine asked the moment John finished his sentence, the grimace on his face making the man believe he was completely against the idea.
So the soldier tilted his head to the side a little, his blue eyes examining the younger man’s expression as if he was trying to figure out why he wouldn’t want his girl to spend the evening with them. He was smitten with you, he would never deny it, but he couldn’t think of a reason why anyone would think you weren’t pleasant to be around. To him, you were the brightest star in the sky, the sunshine in his dark and cold life.
After a minute or so of silence, John finally licked his lower lip and said, “We don’t have to spend the whole evening together, mate. She’ll be here soon and we’ll be out of your hair right away.”
Even though he said that in a casual way, the captain wasn’t as cool about it as he might have sounded to the other two men. They were probably his only normal friends, he wanted them to get along with his girlfriend, and he wanted you to be friends with them too. Just like he always wanted you to get along with his family members. If anything happened to him, he would want you to have people to rely on.
Little did he know that the problem wasn’t that Tangerine didn’t like you. No, quite the opposite and Lemon was fully aware of that. They were brothers, he knew it from the way he was looking at you, the way he talked about you, the little comments he dropped about how much better he would treat you. It was oh so obvious to him, but whenever he asked, he was just told it wasn’t like that. “She’s a nice gal, that’s all,” was all he said usually.
And even now, Lemon saw the way Tangerine shifted in his seat the moment you entered the pub, he saw the way his brother’s eyes followed your every move like a hawk, and he even noticed a jealous glint crossing those same blue eyes when John sneaked a hand around your waist and pulled you into a kiss as a greeting.
“My glass is empty, I’ll grab a drink. You want anything?” he asked John, seemingly ignoring you.
But he was only ignoring you because it was easier to deal with the pain of you not being his precious little doll. You seemed to be head over heels for John, a man whose taste in football teams was a lot, lot worse than his taste in women. The honorary military man, the good boy, the one who was complicated and perfectly capable of protecting you just like him.
John declined the offer before he returned his attention to you, but Lemon knew he should go with him to the bar. The two of them walked over there and occupied two empty chairs, and it was Tangerine who broke the silence, finally saying out loud what his brother had been aware of all along.
“I want her. That girl is killing me,” he admitted with a sour face before he turned to the bartender to order another glass of whiskey. “I need to make her see that she should ditch John and be with me. I like the guy, don’t get me wrong, but she deserves better. I would treat her so much better…”
At this point, Lemon stopped listening to his brother and only shook his head as he also ordered something to drink. He needed more alcohol to handle Tangerine’s bad mood, even if he was keen to help him get over this stupid idea of his. You were taken, simple as that, and he was ready to use another Thomas & Friends reference to help him come to his senses despite knowing well enough it would only enrage him.
And then his ears picked up a sentence he really, really wished he didn’t hear. “I’ll kidnap her. I’ll lock her in an apartment and spoil her rotten there,” Tangerine stated confidently before finishing his drink.
“For fuck’s sake,” Lemon muttered under his breath. “All right, listen to me. You definitely cannot kidnap her. John and his friends from the SAS would quickly find you and I have no idea how far they would go to make you pay for kidnapping his girl. And if they dig a little deeper, they’ll find out what we do for a living. I like John, he’s like my only normal friend at the moment. I don’t want him to turn on me.”
Tangerine rolled his eyes at him. “Bollocks, you have a lot of friends.”
“Name one.”
“Thomas,” he replied with a shit-eating grin.
Lemon took a deep breath to calm himself, but then he said, “Fuck you.”
Without saying another word, Tangerine stood up and made his way back to you and John, not bothering to check if his brother was following him. He immediately noticed you even in the crowd, as if there was a ray of light shining upon you, illuminating your lovely figure to stand out. But when he checked your surroundings, he didn’t see John anywhere. Did he leave you here all alone? What a bastard. Leaving such a pretty little thing on her own in such a place.
Well, that was good as he already had the whole kidnapping planned out. He would spike your drink when John wasn’t around using a drug an acquaintance of his would deliver to him, then he would take you to his secret rented apartment downtown. Once you wake up, he would give you a story about how you acted weird, and since John wasn’t around, he took it on himself to keep you safe. All because he was such a good friend.
“Where’s John?” he asked when he sat down across from you.
You gave him a small smile, but when he looked into your eyes, he noticed they mirrored the sadness that was probably eating you from the inside. “He had to go. Work stuff,” you added quietly.
He always had to leave for work, sometimes for weeks or months, leaving you behind all alone. Well, he wasn’t about to let a poor thing like you suffer, so he reached out to squeeze your hand. “And he left you here all alone? Why didn’t you come over to us, love?” he asked in a sickeningly sweet voice.
Before you could answer, Lemon joined you at the table, sitting next to his brother then pushing a glass of mojito in front of you. When you gave him a questioning look, he flashed a smile at you. “Didn’t want you to dry out and miss the fun. Come on, it will help. And don’t look this sad, we’re here to entertain you,” he told you, looking over at Tangerine when he said the word we.
The bright smile that appeared on your rosy lips made Tangerine happy, but this happiness disappeared the moment you shook his hand off of yours and reached for the glass. He could have strangled his brother at this moment. Why couldn’t he keep his distance and let him do what he wanted? Yes, he was against the kidnapping plan, but why not let him try another way to convince you? He could be a charmer if he wanted to.
“I don’t like it when you look sad,” Tangerine noted with a small smile, having a hard time fighting the urge to reach out for your hand again. “Come on, tell me what you want to do tonight. Do you want to go out for dinner? Watch a movie? Or do you want to go clubbing?”
This made you let out a chuckle, but you raised the glass to your lips before saying anything in response. The poor man was way too impatient to sit in silence, but when he opened his mouth to tell you that he would be up for anything your heart desired, Lemon kicked him in the shin to stop him. He even glared at him as if he was ready to glue his lips together just to shut him up. So Tangerine gave up and kept smiling at you, doing his best to be patient.
“I don’t really feel like going out. I only came here because John invited me. We were planning to go back to his place and watch a movie,” you finally explained to them.
“That’s a great idea! Too bad Lemon has other plans and can’t stay for long,” Tangerine told you with a sigh, then looked over at his brother to silently tell him to play along.
Apparently he got the message, because he turned to you and nodded with a sad look on his face. “Yeah, I have plans, but it’s nothing I can’t cancel,” he said.
“Which is something you shouldn’t do. Would Thomas do that? Would he cancel plans?”
You had already heard of Lemon and his Thomas & Friends obsession, so you couldn’t help but laugh when Tangerine brought it up. It was kind of cute, really, how the two of them were bickering so much. Lemon didn’t lie, they were truly ready to entertain you. “Okay, seriously, just go, I’ll be fine on my own. I’ll pour a glass of wine, sit on the couch, and watch some terrible reality show until I pass out,” you told them kindly.
But Tangerine wasn’t about to give up. He leaned forward and hooked his index finger under your necklace to gently pull you closer over the table. “Not on my watch, sweetheart. Lemon can go wherever he wants, but we will have some fun together, okay?”
He would lay the groundwork with a night spent alone, showing you how much more fun life with him would be. Kidnapping you was now well behind him, he had changed his mind along the way and decided to change your mind in a more subtle way. If everything went according to his plan, you would have the best night of your life, and the two of you would plan more nights out like this while John was gone. By the time he returned, you would be ready to admit that your relationship with him was going nowhere, that with his hectic schedule and the dangers which came with his job your future was doomed.
And then he would step forward, providing a shoulder for you to cry on, being your emotional support until you were ready to open up for new possibilities. He would be there like a loyal dog, always a phone call away, always caring, always listening. Slowly but surely you would see him as an option for a new boyfriend, and oh, he was so eager to impress you in every possible way.

Ooh I have to ask about Wave!
Love you, have the best day! 💕
Ask Me About My WIPs
Have the best day too, my love!
Hmm, "Wave" she's had quite a few different names. This is a one shot I started back in April, and I just haven't quite ever finished it or gotten the exact vibe I want down? It's a 90's -ish kind of AU? One where Steve is cut-off from his parents finally. So here's a bunch of info on it, cause I have no set date, and inspiration is far and fleeting lately 💛
summary: He's just a sad, rich boy, who doesn't know how to do his laundry - but he certainly knows what he's doing with his tongue.
the tune: Waves by Miguel, feat. Kacey Musgraves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here, what the heck, have the beginning of the fic haha:
The familiar clink and ting of zippers and buttons against the metal spinning drum harmonize with the rush of water as machines start their rinse cycles. The buzz of the flickering, overhead fluorescents on their last legs strain to be a part of the melody too. Shouts of joy, flashing lights accompanied by obnoxious buzzers and the clicking wheel of The Price Is Right drift out of the TV in the corner. All of it almost in tune with the rhythmic blink of the red neon sign announcing the hours of Surfin' Suds.
The noises of your every day routine fade in and out, and if someone gets close enough they'll hear soft lyrics spilling from your cheap headphones. Britney sings of being afraid of love as you fold your laundry, your brain a happy blank canvas as your hands move through the motions without thought.
Despite the stinging of your nose from the owner's new 'not-quite-lemon' lemon floor cleaner, Saturday night shifts are your favorite. Usually, you get the entire place to yourself, allowing you to catch up on your own laundry needs. Everyone else is always too busy having a life on a weekend evening.
That is, everyone except for Mr. Clueless it seems.
This is the third Saturday in a row he's ventured to your little oasis. The neon reds and blues on the glass windows highlight the lines of his jaw and sharp nose. They add a warmth to his caramel hair that has to be as soft as it looks - though it seems to get more disheveled each time he comes in.
The first time Mr. Clueless arrived, he was empty handed and looked very lost and confused. When you glanced up from your magazine, and asked if he needed help, he gave a quiet and curt, "Nope, thanks," turned on his heel and left.
The second, you weren't quite sure if it even counted, because he never actually made it inside. He had a bag this time, and as you watched through the glass windows, he walked up to the door and turned around three times, before he got in his car and left.
Today, the annoying chime of the door rattles, and you look up to find him dragging a bulging, black garbage bag and a bottle of what appeared to be fabric softener. He has a plain white shirt on that reflects the neon softly, rumpled, though still nice light blue Levi's that you glance away from as he bends at the waist.
His Nike blazers that have seen far better days squeak against the linoleum floor, coming to an abrupt stop in front of the dryers. The heat on your cheeks receding as you bite your cheek, holding back a smile. When you glance up, he runs a hand through his hair, messing it up further, before he meets your eye. His head dips in a small nod, hand raising in a short wave, before he places both on his hips. He stares at the dryer in front of him like it was the hardest puzzle he's ever encountered.
His mouth moves and you slip a head phone off in curiosity, catching the end of his annoyed and frustrated, "...what the fuck is permanent press?"
Your mouth opens, ready to explain that, number one, that's a dryer and he should probably start with a washing machine, and number two permanent press is-
"Oh, jesus, Harrington. Wash your clothes first before drying them." He spins, dragging his bag across to the washers.
Mr. Clueless taps the top of the machine with two fingers, eyes narrowing as he takes in the dials and buttons. His face starts to twist, hand reaching up and rubbing at the back of his neck, fingers catching a silver chain and hair that's just a tad too long.
"Quarters? Fuck."
Your snort has his head whipping up to face you. His eyes narrow but his cheeks turn pink and you slide your headphones down to your neck as you clear your throat.
"Sorry, I..." you wrack your brain for a polite way to tell him his cluelessness was actually more endearing rather than pathetic.
"I'm laughing with you, not at you?" Your shoulders raise in a wince, shaking your head, "I mean...I...first time?"
His shoulders fall, but he laughs, dragging his hands down his face as he mumbles behind them, "That obvious?"

chapter 1 & 2
A/N: the timeline is fucked and I've added my own parts to spice up the plot so it isn't similar to other fanfics. i do attempt to stick somewhat to the order of things though. please excuse the spacing, this was copied to multiple sites from notion.
warnings: mentions of blood & violence, swearing words: 1906
chapter 1
i didn't know where i was going or why i even the station, i just needed to get out, needed to do something, anything else. nothing made sense, my thoughts were irrational and i wasn't stable enough for this case. i needed to hand it to someone else, but i couldn't, people were counting on me to solve it.
i'm amazing at cases, this is what ive always wanted to do, what i've dreamed of, so why couldn't i? when it mattered and when it counted why couldn't i solve a singular case? what was wrong with me, why was my brain acting like this? god, it felt like my brain was running at 100 miles per hour.
i kept walking, turning different ways when i felt like it. eventually i came to a tea store. outside was a huge poster for fresh tea and pastries on a discounted price for the winter.
'yes' i thought, 'exactly what i need.'
i walked into the store and was immediately greeted by the smell of an intrusive citrus tea. it flooded my senses and slowed my brain down almost instantly.
"hello dear, something i can help you with?" a calming voice asked.
i spun around to see an older lady, she had grey hair and kind green eyes. she was wearing a light coat of well applied makeup and was smiling at me while holding a cup of tea (which seemed to be the culprit of my relaxation.)
"i, uh, i saw the uhm." i tried to explain using my finger to point toward the window, but my eyes were very obviously glued to the cup of magic the woman was holding.
she followed my gaze and lightly chuckled. "you like the smell of this tea? its ours new brand of organic lemon balm tea, otherwise know as melissa. It increases GABA activity, meaning it's a fantastic choice for calming you down andddd getting to sleep at night!" "sounds just like what i need."
i look from the cup to the shelves, they are covered in hundreds of boxes of tea, ranging from all different colours and types. on the shelves behind the counter sit at least 200 different teapots.
"well lucky for you we have an offer on this type of tea, as its new. 2 boxes for £15. although you do need a good teapot to brew this kind of tea to a high standard. so for an extra £15 ill through in a teapot as well." she responded, putting down her teacup, grabbing two boxes of the tea from the shelves and walking behind the counter to select a teapot.
this woman moved fast, i hadn't even said i wanted it yet.
"right okay, £30 sure." i nodded approaching the counter.
as the woman turned back around she knocked the shelf causing one level to fall. without thinking id hopped over the counter and caught the shelf before it could cause any real damage.
fuck!
"oh woah, those are some… fast reflexes. and your quite strong too. hm" the woman said stepping back putting the teapot she had selected for me on the counter. she then turned round and looked me up and down.
i propped the shelf back up and sighed nervously.
"aha, yeah well, i am a detective so quick reflexes and all."
"sure sure, whatever you say, just seemed a little… unnatural is all." she responded with a smile.
i walked back round the counter, pulling my purse out of my oversized winter jacket. it was like this woman could see right through me. read me like a book - as cringey as that sounds. i pulled out three 10s and handed them too her. she bagged up my things and handed then to me.
"have a nice evening and come again!"
"thank you."
i spun around making a b-line for the door, 'freedom!' i thought, right before the door opened in front of me and i crashed into the stranger that had walked through.
"woah! sorry about that, wasn't expecting you to come through." i said apologetically, regaining balance.
i looked at the guy in front of me, he was solid and hadn't even wobbled when i bumped into him. he had fiery brown hair, gelled up into stupid spikes. he had beautiful light brown eyes, but they were currently looking cold and sharp right at me.
"watch where you're going next time." he half-shouted.
i scoffed, looking at him in disbelief. i was being kind and apologising! what was this assholes problem?
"kai! don't be rude to customers." the woman that had served me said from behind.he rolled his eyes walking off to the back grumbling about something. the woman started to say something but id already walked out, fuming.
like my shitty day could get any worse, not only am i in a slump at work, i nearly exposed my powers to the tea lady AND that guy was unnecessarily rude.
i angrily walked back to the station and set my tea down in the locker room. i ignored everyone's confused looks and sat back at my desk, head in hands.
chapter 2
blood dripped down my face and onto my vigilante suit, not like i wasn't already covered in snake juices and blood but it was still an inconvenience. i had been on my way home from work when i heard cries down an alleyway. a group of snakes had stolen a baby. very original.
i dipped into the alley, stashed my bag and tea in an old bin and changed into my suit, before saving the baby. i fought of the serpentine and found the mother a few streets down crying out for her lost child. a few of the slimy bastards got away so i tracked them through the city, to the sewers. it was some kind of hive for all the serpentine clans too meet. how freaky.
that's when i saw them, the ninja. the most irritating men you will ever come across.
4 arrogant, cocky, colourful men in pyjamas. they call themselves ninjas but fail to do the simplest of tasks, not to mention they are always in my way. they believe in no killing unless absolutely necessary, i believe some people just aren't worth keeping around and that not every life is worth saving.
it's fair to say we don't see eye to eye.
they were all here, trying to fight off the serpentine horde and (to my misery) winning. this place must be important because they were all here blue, red, black and… pink? since when was there a pink ninja? what happened to the white one?
i saw the one in black get knocked down and decided to be his knight in shining armour. i pulled down my hood and used my webs to swing myself into the fight. i grabbed the snake on top of the black ninja with my webs and flung him into a wall. the ninja on the ground looked up at me and nodded, swiftly getting off of the ground, rushing back into the fight.
i rolled my eyes, although he couldn't see that. we continued fighting until the serpentine were dead, tied up or knocked out. i'd been scratched a few times but nothing serious. most of the blood on me wasn't mine, not that you could tell whose blood is what anyway, a certain breed of these filthy things exploded into blue goo when it died. extremely gross. there were only a few stragglers left, but i thought that the Pyjama Men could handle them on their own - they were big, scary ninjas after all. i turned on my heel, prepared to leave, when i heard a scream behind me. i looked over my shoulder to see the pink (white?) ninja being lifted up by his neck. the thing lifting him was grotesque; it was like a hybrid snake. it was bigger, stronger, and covered in markings, and metal.
the remaining ninjas rushed to aid their friend, while i took care of the less powerful serpentine who were trying to assist the hybrid. dealing with the remaining serpentine was easy, and i dispatched them quickly while the others did their best to help their icy companion.
the poor guy was choking and struggling as his teammates desperately tried to get the thing off of him, attacking them with everything they had. their golden weapons, powers and strength didn't work so i helped out and tried my best to strike the hybrid with my weapon. nothing worked and the thing just shrugged us off or threw us back. i eventually got fed up and webbed the guy's hands up, he dropped the icy ninja to try and get the webs off. the fire ninja grabbed the ice ninja and we all ran out of there while we still could. there was no point fighting something so strong, especially since we were very under-prepared. plus i could sense that the ninja still weren't my biggest fans even after i just saved them.
we ran out of the sewers and hid in an alleyway. i lifted the bottom part of my mask, revealing my mouth and gasped for air. it stunk in the sewer and i appreciated the fresh air. part of my hair fell out of the mask along with it.
"are you a girl?!" exclaimed the blue lightning ninja.
"i thought that was obvious?" i responded, looking his way.
"not to me."
"it was obvious, you're just a dumbass jay." the earth ninja said rolling his eyes while checking on his injured friend.
"your name is jay?" i asked.
"oh for fucks sake cole!" the red one exclaimed.
"and yours is cole?"
"shut up you two!" the injured white one shouted, his voice sounding croaky and sore. "she knows too much about our identities now, we will have to take her to master wuu."
"yeah good idea. besides, we still need to discuss whatever that monster was." the red one replied nodding, a hint of disgust in his voice toward the end.
"im not going anywhere with you lot." i started backing up, they came toward me and i turned around and bolted.

25 with Dan and Em please? I love them so so much 😭😭😭😭
Almost every single detail about their wedding was planned. Thanks to Charlie and her wonderful family the venue dilemma was solved and ready to go. Dan had his suit, the boys had theirs. Em had a dress that she loved and made her feel like a dream. They’d taken their time and chosen the flowers, the food, the wine, every single other detail was solved. The only thing that they couldn’t decide on was the cake.
They’d tried so many, but none of the ones they were right. The flavours weren’t good enough, the filling texture was weird, the bakery couldn’t make the cake look anything like what they wanted. They still had time before they needed to have it ready to go, but it was one of the things that made Em completely nervous. Dan had promised that they’d find the right one. No matter where they had to go to find it and no matter the price they would find their perfect wedding cake. But she still worried.
What they weren’t expecting was to find it in a tiny bakery by the nearest shops instead of the big ones they’d been to. Dan went out to his parents for the morning and picked up a cake to treat them on his way home. Em was making coffee and waiting for Dan so she could finish cooking their brunch when the door opened. It was his normal greeting, a hug and kiss on the cheek with a little paper bag smelling of citrus.
“What’s that?” She asked, looking over at Dan as he perched on the edge of the countertop, right beside where Em was standing.
“A treat for brunch. Figured it was better for us to go back to basics between so many cakes. C’mon, open it.”
Em did as she was told, carefully opening the bag and the brightly coloured bakery box to reveal a perfect lemon drizzle cake. It not only looked beautiful, but it smelled like heaven.
“Where did you find this cutie?”
“Stopped off on my way back from mum and dad’s. Mum said we should have a break from tasting cakes and just have something to enjoy.”
“If it tastes as good as it looks then it’s going to be heaven.”
She pulled a knife from the block and cut a large slice for them to split. There was absolutely no point in cutting two slices for them, Dan would just steal bites from hers. It was the same way he always drank from her bottle of water instead of his own, the ridiculous habit he’d started years ago and Em wouldn’t complain about it. Em took the first bite before passing her fork back to her boy, waiting for him to take the next one. It didn’t just look beautiful, it tasted like a little piece of heaven.
“Alright, that’s a good cake.” Dan was the first one to admit it, taking the knife to cut another slice for them.
“That’s seriously good.”
It hit them at the same time. Blake and Michael had both joked that they had telepathic conversations and this was no different. They instantly knew what was happening, a small smile spreading across each face.
“Daniel Joseph Ricciardo, you just found our goddamn wedding cake.” Em leaned up to kiss him with a grin, Dan pulling her up to him to kiss her back.

2. "Looks like you're on your own hook, too."
ROSEMARY - "Of course, of course, of course..." The drunk raises his pilsner and nods. "It is what it is, you know? What it's always been. People, buddy-boy, it's the people."
COMPOSURE [Medium: Success] - He has long forgotten what you were talking about.
3. "Why does the bottle of spirits cost 300 reál?"
ROSEMARY - "See, friend..." He brings out a one-litre bottle with blue-ish liquid. The mouth is corked shut. "It's *real* valuable. Worth every reál, if you catch my drift. Got it from a bit of a business venture..."
Nod -- let him speak.
"No one can buy spirits for 300 reál, that's crazy."
"I'll just have the spirits and not the story today, thank you."
ROSEMARY - "You know, it's funny, actually..." He bursts out laughing, then takes three gulps of his pilsner and stares at you intently.
PERCEPTION (SIGHT) [Medium: Success] - He's finding it difficult to focus his watery gaze.
"What is?"
ROSEMARY - "What?"
"What do you mean *what*? What did you think was funny earlier?"
"Forget about it, I just want the spirits!"
ROSEMARY - "This guy, this guy..." He says and shakes his index finger at you.
SUGGESTION [Easy: Success] - Conversation might bring a discount, no?
"Where did you get the bottle of spirits from?"
"Okay, can I just get the spirits if that's okay with you?"
"You know what?! I don't even want the spirits anymore!"
ROSEMARY - "Oh, this is medicinal spirits. The good stuff. Got it from the doctor's office."
HORRIFIC NECKTIE - He ain't shitting you. Medicinal spirits are a blast, *bratan*. The flaming truth of this joke of a world.
ROSEMARY - "I got one of those scientific ampoules a few months ago. 'Torpedo' they call it. It's supposed to keep a man from takin' a drink." He spits a nasty yellow clot on the ground before you.
"Didn't stop *me* for shit, that's for sure!" His voice rings with pride. "Five lemons with half a pack of butter and you're good to go."
"That's a good tip, I should remember it."
"That sounds dangerous."
ROSEMARY - "It was," he croaks. "In a week the goddamned kidneys started giving me all kinds of hell. Finally the missus took me to a private doctor's office -- not a charity, the real thing..."
"Those assholes!" He gets visibly angry. "Those assholes charged me *four reál* to remove the damn thing. But I came out on top after all!"
"Assholes..."
"Have they no shame taking money for a service they provide!"
"Okay, how?"
ROSEMARY - "But the idiots left me alone in there. Now, I used to teach high school biology. I *know* what doctors use to preserve dead thingies..." He gets an excited gleam in his eyes.
"Two I already sold to these fine gentlemen here," he nods at his companions. "But this last one is yours for three reál, if you want it?"
REACTION SPEED [Easy: Success] - Don't say it.
"I thought it was 300 reál."
"Can I smell it first?"
"I think it will prove... useful. Yes."
"No, not really."
ROSEMARY - "Here..." He uncorks the bottle and holds it under your nose. "Be careful, it's extremely flammable. One spark and the entire city of Revachol is wiped off the map."
PAIN THRESHOLD [Legendary: Failure] - Feels like someone set a mustard field ablaze right inside your nose, then drenched it in tear gas. Your nose is a singular source of pain... but at the same time you don't remember the last time you felt so alive.
LOGIC [Medium: Success] - In all fairness, that might be attributed to the retrograde amnesia.
HORRIFIC NECKTIE - Did I not tell you, *bratan*? This is it -- this is our party drink. This is what we're having, baby! Please get it for me! (The tie vibrates excitedly around your neck again.)
ROSEMARY - "So, what's the deal, friend? Want the spirits or not?"
"I think it will prove… useful. Yes."
"No, not really."
ROSEMARY - "Three reál and it's yours, friend. The deal of a lifetime!"
REACTION SPEED - Well done. You got it.
LOGIC [Medium: Success] - That's a much more reasonable price right there. Makes sense now.
Well, shit, at those prices we can't afford *not* to buy it.
3. [3 reál] "Here's the money for the spirits."
Item gained: Blue Medicinal Spirit
ROSEMARY - He hands you the bottle. "Jus' make sure to *enjoy* that one, friend!"
HORRIFIC NECKTIE - *Bratan*, I am so proud. Now -- whatever you do, don't drink it. This deserves so much more than just regular *oral* consumption.
ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Easy: Success] - The tie is *SO* on the money there! Up the bum it goes!
Huh...
But… I don't wanna put it up my bum.
Okay, right. We're putting it in the bum!
HORRIFIC NECKTIE - Who said anything about putting it up there? No, we're gonna put it in a *way* more special place. Soooo special. Just hang on to it, keep it safe. Wait for my sign!
INLAND EMPIRE [Easy: Success] - Soon. The time will come soon. Have patience, brave one.
We could also buy more alcohol to trade to Idiot Doom Spiral, but let's see if we can find some around first.
6. "I'm off." [Leave.]
ROSEMARY - "In the civilized world, it's a custom to tip the shopkeep, friend. But come back anyway." He waves you off.

BLUE MEDICINAL SPIRIT
The liquid has an unearthly blue tint. The kind that might or might not, but definitely *does* glow in the dark. This is 98,7 pure alcohol. Keep it away from an open flame.

DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - "Don't call Abigail," grumbles an unshaven man with a ruddy nose. He narrows his eyes at you as if in recognition, then turns his head away.
PERCEPTION (SMELL) [Medium: Success] - The noxious odour emanating from the drunken man is strong and familiar.
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - "Don't ya call her, ya hear. Don't call Abigail..."
"I am the law."
"Who is Abigail?"
"I'll call whoever I want, don't tell me what to do."
"This is making me uncomfortable." [Leave.]
+1 Lawbringer
KIM KITSURAGI - The lieutenant sighs. "You really don't have to... Besides, he won't understand you anyway."
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - "Abigail... oh, Abigail..." He mutters while trying to brush something off his extremely dirty trousers. His movements are slow and awkward.
2. "Who is Abigail?"
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - He draws out a disgusting snort, then mumbles, waving a finger in your general direction: "Ugh... Abigail... don't ya... fuckin'... call Abigail."
SUGGESTION [Easy: Success] - Abigail is his wife or girlfriend. Chances are, she's gone. Calling her wouldn't make it any better or worse.
"Who are you? What's your name?"
"Where am I? What is this place?"
"Why shouldn't I call Abigail?"
"Tell me about your friends." (Point to the others.)
Walk away. [Leave.]
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - His eyes move around erratically, the look in them hazy and unfocused. "Don't call Abigail," he says.
2. "Where am I? What is this place?"
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - The man hiccups, then mumbles something unintelligible.
3. "Why shouldn't I call Abigail?"
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - He snorts and beckons you to lean in closer.
Lean in.
Don't lean in.
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - His breath smells harsh like a toxic swamp as he whispers to you: "Don't call Abigail. Don't call Abigail!" He then waves his hand, as if shooing you away.
"Hey, I'm on an important official investigation, I demand you answer my questions."
KIM KITSURAGI - "There's no use in yelling at drunks," the lieutenant interjects. "He's barely holding it together."
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - The drunk man starts coughing, a really disgusting hacking cough.
5. "Tell me about your friends." (Point to the others.)
DON'T CALL ABIGAIL - He glares at you. "Don't ya fuckin' call her, hear me." His voice trembles with every word, becoming ever weaker. "Abigail," he whimpers in the end.
"Don'... don'..." the man stammers, "don't call..." Slowly, his head nods off to the side and he passes out, tongue dangling from his mouth.
+5 XP
KIM KITSURAGI - "There was little chance he'd be a reliable witness, anyway."

I’ll Follow Your Lead - Hot Chocolate and a Cinnamon Bun
~Also posted on my Ao3 and Wattpad~
Part 2
Tumblr media
Dorothea Lindsay was a woman of great patience. Her kind smile never wavered as the middle-aged man in front of her studied the café menu as if it were a novel invention. Inwardly, she was screaming for him to pick something so that she could get on with her day, however, she simply switched her weight from her right leg to her left leg.
“I think I’ll have an Earl Grey tea with lemon. As well as one of the fresh cakes for the day,” The man finally said. He was nice enough – he had a nice smile and spoke softly – but boy he was thorough with his menu options.
“I’ll have that right out for you, sir!” Dorothea nodded and turned on her heel. She brushed her hair away from her eyes and swiftly made her way to the front counter where she would gather the man’s order.
Dorothea was a hopeful woman. She had a silly dream to become a musician – a singer. She had the talent and the face to make it big but hadn’t made her break yet. As she slaved away in Café le Plus Sucré, she dreamed of being featured in the spotlight of a grand stage. In the evenings, she did small shows in a local restaurant: Rinaldi’s. It was a small Italian restaurant that hosted all kinds of people from around the city. New York City was supposed to be Dorothea’s chance for greatness; instead, she was closing in on her second year as a waitress. She was a hard-working woman, just barely 16 and already holding down two steady jobs. She did not have anyone else to depend on and had very little money but she scraped by.
She mindlessly prepared the man’s tea and grabbed one of the freshly baked lemon cakes from the cooling rack before waltzing back to the man. As she placed his order in front of him, he smiled widely at her and rested his callused hand on her soft one.
“You look tired, miss. It’s a shame that they have such a pretty girl working so hard!”
Dorothea rolled her eyes but quickly recovered her smile.
“Oh, it’s not so bad. I get to meet a lot of interesting people here. There’s hardly a dull moment!
She had lied to that man. The afternoons at the café were always dull and time passed with absentminded cleaning and magazine reading. Dorothea sat on a stool behind the counter. Only one other person was in the building and it was an old woman that frequents the establishment. Dorothea had already set her up with her normal order, at her normal table and left her to watch the people pass outside of the large window. Now she was flipping through this month’s Vogue issue and awaiting the evening rush. She could hear the honking of automobiles and even the clopping of horses' hooves against the cobblestone as she read the articles and studied the pictures. She was envious of these beautifully styled women as she sat in a stained dress and apron with her hair sloppily tied up with a dark red ribbon. Just as she let out a heavy sigh, the front door opened.
The young man was about Dorothea’s age and was dressed in some old, simple clothes. He held a leather-bound book and a small pencil case in his hand and wore ratty boots on his feet. He looked around the cozy building before his bright blue eyes landed on the woman at the counter. He paused for a brief moment before proceeding toward the counter and taking a seat on one of the stools.
“What can I get for you, sir?” Her voice was warm and smooth, like a nice hot chocolate. Her eyes were much the same.
    The man cleared his throat.
“Um,” He glanced around the counter looking for a menu and the girl chuckled to herself.
“Forgive me! I didn’t even ask if you wanted a menu,” She turned around and grabbed a sheet of paper, and then presented it to the man. He smiled and his eyes finally left hers. He scanned the options, surprised that such a nice place had such low prices.
“How about a hot chocolate with a cinnamon bun,”
Dorothea could not help but laugh at his choice. The man responded by furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. “What?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to offend. It’s just that I don’t meet many men with an order such as this! Most men think it too sweet.”
“I’ve got a taste for sweet things,” his pink lips quirked in a smirk. “What’s your name?”
    “Dorothea.”
    “Jack.”

Odd-Job Tsuna by ShamelessDilettante
Tsuna decides he doesn't want to rely on his absent father's money. So he gets a job. Or two. Or twelve. The 10th Gen gets together early. And there's no way he's leaving Namimori. It will fall apart if I leave, Reborn!
Little Prince by Scheming Rabbit
Iemitsu should have had a closer look at Nana's background before he married her. Nana's father decides its time to teach Tsuna the Family Business. When Reborn comes, he's got to get Tsuna out of his grandfather's reach to make him a Mafia boss. And did I mention they're royalty?
The Epic Rivalry of Sasagawa Kyoko and Sawada Tsunayoshi by Dandelion-san
Tsuna and Kyoko are really, really good at cooking. But who's the best? Unfortunately, Ryohei and Hibari-sempai were terrorized during the Rivalry.
The Senju Brothers by Tsume Yuki
Naruto/KHR If Tsunade had known the kind of chaos her sons were unleash upon the world... well, she still would have had them. The Arcobalenco and 10th Gen are reborn into Naruto. Drabbles, discontinued
Game On! By nordiamus
The first in the series. HP/KHR for the first, FMA, YYH, 1/2 Prince, Inuyasha, Naruto and Percy Jackson for the rest. After FemHP dies, she learns the price her mother paid to save her, that Halloween night. Desperate, she accepts a deal with the gods. Guide and prepare the new Hero to his destiny. Chaos wants to make things fun and turns life into a video game for her. So, so great. Amazing series, fleshed out, lots of characters follow femHP through the series. FemHP/Reborn
Uchiha Kyōya by Tsume Yuki
Naruto/KHR Fugaku wished they'd stopped at the first son. There's nothing wrong with the youngest, it's just... the middle one. Drabbles, technically discontinued but it's good as it is.
Vigilante Tendency by Kyogre
Tsuna tries to follow his dad's advice. It does not go according to plan. At least he has friends now. If only they weren't so inclined to fight crime. Oneshot, super good.
The Varia Next Door by Renegade Warrior
After the Cradle Affair, Xanxus is shipped off to Namimori instead of frozen solid. Xanxus hates it, he can't feel his Flames, his Elements are still in Italy. And why is this brat so difficult to scare off? And why does it feel better when he's around Tsuna? Tsuna is 5 years old when the King moves in next door. What a nice man! Funny povs from the Varia workers in the mansion.
Soldier Series by Tempestes D. Uzu
HP/KHR Harry is Skull! Discontinued but really good completed fics. Shows the povs of the other Arcobalenco to the truth about Skull.
A Murder of Crows by Cyanide Lemons
Reborn is touching down in Namimori just as Sawada Tsunayoshi leaves it. Reborn had to hunt the world for his wayward student, promising death to Iemitsu all the while. So great. I love everything Reborn is put to.
The Bloody Boys by Luki Fanfic
Dark AU! Nana's family are a bunch of serial killers. When Iemitsu allows the Seal on Tsuna, rejecting him from the Vongola, Nana decides to teach him her own family traditions. The 10th Gen in this are all killers. Also, Nana does what we all wish to do.
Aeolian by Tsume Yuki
When Kyoya and Tsuna are kidnapped, Tsuna will have to shed her herbivorous skin and become a carnivore if she wants to survive. Kyoya/Tsuna
Scarily Attractive by Hweianime
Tsunas twin Giotto becomes Decimo and Tsuna is in Germany since scary people are drawn to him all over in Namimori. Tsuna/Xanxus
My Heavenly Judgement by colbub
Complete! 100/10 Downloaded to read whenever. OC Alice has to complete a task to enter Heaven after she dies. She must help Tsuna become Decimo. So amazingly good! I laughed, I cried, I shipped. BTW, endgame Kyoya/Alice slow burn. Super slow burn.. Alice is "born" into the Brighteye Family who, just like her, have to complete a task to go to Heaven in the KHR world. So many tear jerker moments. So many Soft (minorly Angsty) Feels. Wonderful looks into the family Alice left behind, the people working with Alice now and the Angel who set her her task. I can't recommend it enough.
I Hold With Those Who Favor Fire by infaredphaeton
Naruto/KHR Oneshot When Gokudera died, he didn't expect to wake up again. Definitely not with pink hair! Gokudera is Sakura
You Plus Me Plus Kids by Seito
Tsuna/Reborn are gods and they somewhat accidentally end up adopting the kid versions of the arcobalenco and more.
Mutual Hatred by exocara
Tsuna forms a vigilante group to oust the Yakuza from his town before Reborn ever comes near Namimori.
Game of Life by exocara
Tsuna wakes up and his life is suddenly a video game. Complete. Humor
Xanxus' Adventures in Parenthood Piracy by InsaneScriptist
OP/KHR Not my usual thing, since I'm really not a fan of OP but IS did so well and it's mostly just using the OP world as a backdrop. When Portgas D. Rogue finds a man who mysteriously (i.e. standed in an alternate dimension by scientists and had to swim a lot and then climbed a cliff) appeared on the island where she lived, she decided to take him home. Then she names him godfather to her unborn child. Amazing worldbuilding with Flames in this. Xanxus using his Sky Flames to build personas for himself(splitting his Flames into their components and assigning a different alias to each Flame type) to build himself a lifeline until those scientists get him back. My favorite is when he meets who he describes as an unholy combination of Squalo and Mammon as a girl, who eventually brings him home to meet her sisters who also remind him of a genderbent combo of people he knows in KHR. (All he does is hire the girls for the company makes)
Of Dreams and Hope by skyhgem
Tsuna wakes from a week long coma and finds out the last four years of his life (manga) went real. In Italy and even his hometown, 7 others wake from a coma and try to piece their lives together.
Momento Mori by exocara
When Tsuna is 13, he is visited by Checkerface and is told he can save the world by dying on his 15th birthday. Similar to the Tri-Ni-Sette, in this world, there's one more System that keeps it running. Tsuna has been chosen as rhe 10th sacrifice.
Conspiracy Theorist Tsuna by ariathal2410
Tsuna is ridulously accurate when it comes to his conspiracy theories. It's hard to keep a straight face in front of him.
The Lucky Rope by Breathless02
Giotto is jealous of his Gaurdians, of their children. He, himself, wants to be a father. One day, his life changes. 1st Gen raises 10th Gen
