so I've been working on my latest conlang, irkan osla (or just osla for short), for a bit now and would like to showcase its writing system in this post! osla has a syllabic alphabet, not too dissimilar to korean hangul, where letters are stacked according to certain rules to make syllable blocks.

osla's syllable structure is (C)(C)V(V)(C), here's how the stacks work for each type of syllable:

all letters have small, wide, and tall forms depending on their position in the syllable. here are all the letters with their IPA value and romanization:

and here's an example text! i translated parts of the minecraft end poem into osla. maybe i'll make another post just focusing on the grammar when it's more developed. the poem says in english:

Do you think Lord Diavolo's animal motif (assuming he has one) could be a moth? He has two sets of wings like a moth does and kind of has that big fluffy area that some moths have around his shoulders. A quick Google search also tells me that moths are symbolic of change and transformation which I guess could have to do with his dream of improving the relationship between the three realms

I just happened to think of this while looking at him in lessons 13 and 14 of Nightbringer so I could be wrong, but it's still interesting to think about

I'm crocheting a granny square holiday stocking in May because why not.

The pattern calls for 27 granny squares. I run out of the holiday yarn I'm using on square 26. I scour the internet for hours looking for this unlabeled yarn and find it but fml it's been discontinued for over a decade. So I look up other granny square stocking patterns. I find one that not only looks better and isn't so comically huge, but also requires only 15 granny squares.

Was this way too much effort for a small project? Maybe, but I refuse to be bested by a stocking.

sorry if you've already been asked this but what did you think about eiji in iw? like idk i feel like they were trying to recreate a masato and ichi moment without actually having any of the elements that made their relationship narratively compelling.

as a whole, i thought eiji was at least a nice 'how he wished things couldve been' for ichi in regards to masato, but still being independent enough from the masato comparison to stand on his own as a character (or at least as an antagonist. his actions wasn't what was reminding me he was a masato parallel, but more so ichi's insistence he help him). i think thats why ichi and eiji's relationship don't have the same 'elements' that make their relationship interesting like masato and ichi's

Adult Tails design for my main Sonic AU/rewrite, possibly for an epilogue of sorts to the main story?

He's graduated top of his class at Spagonia University and recieved his doctorate, making him Dr. Miles "Tails" Prower. Aside from occasionally giving lectures at Spag U, he's been working on developing his own technology, taking inspiration from the work Dr. Robotnik left behind.

He's still a big dork but has a sort of cool uncle or at-school dad energy to him. Think of Sunburst from MLP G4. I want him to eventually have a family, too (I'm working on deciding colors for their final designs now; I've already got them pretty much finished). I'll eventually post those once they're done and I have time away from school.
