I am utterly fucked in the head over eclipse. her whole life is a tragety. shes chosen to care for a city who's god is dying, the god she sees as a mother and the god she holds the hand of as she passes. she loses one son before she can even meet him, lost to the cosmos far away from mortal hands. then, she loses a daughter to a curse, the other fleeing and never being able to return as long as the drema barrier is raised, and the city and people she promised to protect. cannot even interact with the few people left in the throes of aers grief.
but one day, the moon will set over the sea, the stars will fall, and the sun will shine over the city once more.
“you chose me knowing you were broken” vs “thanks for seeing me i guess”. the parallels between choosing a child that isn’t yours by blood and trying to love them despite your trauma vs being chosen by a dad that isn’t yours by blood and tries to love you despite your trauma. scary vs linc. terry vs grant. i feel sick
