Last Halloween: Chapter 20
Tumblr media
Summary: After a tragedy involving Joel happened on Halloween one year prior, the town now shuns him while ignoring the details of the now closed case. You are seemingly the only one to offer empathy to a man the town is making out to be a monster.
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
You knew it was going to be a challenge, but the plan you had in mind to fight for Joel's integrity and expose the Champagne family was something you had to carry out.
Across from the coffee shop on the quaint little street was the annual Mischief Night Movie Marathon on the town green, drive-in movie style with a giant blow up screen. To discourage kids from throwing eggs and soaping windows the night before Halloween, the town had created an event that seemed to draw in bigger crowds every year. People brought blankets and lawn chairs. Prior to the start of the movie there was a pumpkin carving contest and all of the jack-o-lanterns were lined along a stone wall that bordered the green.
From five to seven o'clock there was a tiny tots hour and the movie Monsters Inc was played for all the young kids. From seven o'clock until eleven, two horror movies played for older crowds that were picked by the townspeople through social media polls in September. The chosen movies for that evening were Trick 'R Treat and Halloween II.
You sent a group text to Jess, Winnie and Chrissy filling them in about what had happened, and they agreed to meet you down in front of the coffee shop.
For the time being you laid low with a beanie hat pulled down over your ears and a hood over that. To your knowledge, Vic and the other assailants had yet to be tracked down; and so you tried your best to go a little incognito.
The carefree nature of the kids' hour across the street made you smile. Moms and dads helped lift giant pumpkins with goofy faces onto the stone wall as kids jumped for joy in their costumes. The gathering was great for the community and you envisioned, just for a second, that one day you might be one of those moms with a little one of your own.
"Hey!" Chrissy was the first to run up to you and made you stumble back with the fierceness of her hug. "Are you okay?"
You knew she'd understand. She had been the only one you hadn't talked to directly about you and Joel.
"Yeah," you half-lied, but you weren't about to say no, "Yeah, I'm okay."
Chrissy pulled back, still holding you by your arms and looked you in the eyes. "I am so sorry I said what I said about Joel that night we all talked. I had no idea.." She shook her head and pulled you back in for a hug. "Is he okay?"
"He's still in the hospital but he's going to be okay," you told her.
"This is so scary." Chrissy still held you firmly in place. "I am so so sorry you had to go through all that."
"It's okay," you assured her.
Your other two roommates joined you by the coffee shop and you all exchanged similar words.
"So, what's the plan?" Jessie asked. "We want to help."
"Thank you, guys." You let out a deep breath. "I'm just waiting on one more crucial piece to the puzzle." You reached into your pocket and removed your phone to check the time.
"What piece?" Winnie asked.
"I had to rely on.. someone else."
They all looked at one another, wondering if anyone knew who or what you were referring to.
"Steve."
"Steve?" Chrissy asked, her eyes bugging. "Like Steve, Steve?"
You nodded. "It was a last resort but he has the in's that nobody else does. And believe it or not, I think he's true to that badge enough to make this happen."
"I thought you said he was a jerk."
"He is.. kind of," you said, "Or maybe that was me just being annoyed by all of his quirks." You shrugged. "We weren't exactly a love match, but I think deep down he's a good person."
I hope, you thought silently, checking the time again.
Monster's Inc. was wrapping up and the line of jack-o-lanterns stretched nearly the entire length of the wall, each with their own faux candle that left a series of orange glows. You needed the video before the start of Trick 'R Treat. Based on the schedule, you knew that left you about twenty minutes.
"What exactly *is* the plan?" Jessie asked.
You took a deep breath, sending a little cloud of smoke into the air. "Steve is getting me the footage from a security camera that shows what really happened last Halloween. It shows the truth, no ifs, ands or buts.. no gossip. Joel was attacked by Johnny when he was attempting to change his flat tire. Johnny choked him out with a chain and in the struggle of Joel fighting for his life, the two of them fell down a little embankment and Johnny broke his neck. The surveillance video shows all of that, and that's why Joel was charged with nothing."
Your three friends stood them staring at you as if they were watching a suspenseful movie unfold.
"There's footage?" Chrissy asked, her mouth hanging open.
"Yes." You nodded. "And tonight, when ninety percent of the town is here, I'm going to show them."
"Holy fuck," Chrissy said. A smile spread across her face. "That's insane."
"How are you going to do that?" Winnie asked.
You glanced over her shoulder toward Steve, who looked nervous as hell, as he wandered toward you, glancing around in all directions.
Relief filtered through your body. He came through. Your plan was going to work - you thought.
The girls followed your gaze and when Steve got wind that you were all staring at him, he puffed his chest a big and pretended to be paying attention to the Halloween gathering across the street.
"Steve." You gave a wave. His hand looked tight and ridged as he waved back. His face matched his posture.
"Hi, Steve." Chrissy gave a small smile and he nodded once at her before staring directly at you.
"They have a computer that's attached to the projection here," Steve informed you. He reached into the pocket of his shirt and pulled out a small, black disc drive. "The department transferred the footage onto multiple drives. This one should work on any computer. It's just an HDMI."
When he placed the disc into your palm you looked at it for a long moment before finally closing your fingertips over the top of it.
You let out a deep breath knowing the magnitude of what was about to happen. "You think you can distract them enough for me to swap this out before they start the next movie?" Your eyes scanned the small team you had standing in front of you.
"We'll do whatever you need," Jessie said with a nod. The girls all nodded and Steve let out a sigh.
"You do know what's on the line for me, right?"
"Yes," you said directly to him. "And I promise you, you won't regret helping an innocent man get the justice he deserves. This town needs to know the truth." You added, "I'll never tell anyone you got me this. No one would believe you would anyway, with our history."
There was a long silence as everyone contemplated what their role could be, before Steve finally said, "I'll distract them at the podium," then added. "And you do what you gotta do."

Dojo AU
no-capes AU where Dick Grayson is a sensei at a Cuong Nhu dojo who teaches a tot class. Bruce Wayne brings 4yo Damian to the class and immediately falls in love with Dick.
this class was recommended to Bruce because Damian has 'behavioral issues' that have made it a nightmare to integrate him into kindergarten programs. Damian has gone through like 8 nannies. specialists have diagnosed him with autism and possibly ODD. Bruce is at his wits end. shouldn't the terrible twos be over by now???
so Bruce shows up at the dojo with his Emergency Damian Bag and teeny tiny demon Damian clinging to his pants. he called ahead and spent an hour talking to Dick to prepare him. Dick comes up to them to say hi in his white gi and Bruce is like—oh god help me this is the most beautiful man I have ever seen.
(the other senseis and regulars have seen this exact look pass over a parent's face many-a-time. it's par for the course with Dick! but also. this is BRUCE WAYNE.)
Dick kneels down and says, "Hello Damian, my name is Sensei Grayson. You can call me Sensei G."
Damian glares at him for a moment. and then lets out a cry and strikes him on the head with a chop.
Bruce is mortified. he is still not done processing the beauty that is Sensei Grayson and his horrible child has just hit him on the head! he's told Damian SO many times that he can't hit people!!!
Dick says, "ow" and frowns cause like. it didn't really hurt, but it's the kind of thing that could hurt someone and that's important to communicate with children.
Damian did like hitting this stranger but he does *not* like that Dick is 'upset'. he tears up and screeches, "YOU'RE WEAK I WON'T LEARN FROM YOU."
Bruce, so tired, "Damian—"
Dick, "Well, I can't make you learn. but if you don't take this class, you can't get a belt."
Damian narrows his little eyes into slits. Bruce holds his breath. is G's gambit going to work???
"I have a judo belt," Damian argues, which is true, but he is very much Not Allowed back at that Judo dojo.
"Ah," says Dick. "But you don't have a Cuong Nhu belt." he shows off the end of his tied belt, which is black and has four red stripes.
Damian grabs the end of Dick's belt and Bruce is having a meltdown. the disrespect! is it disrespectful in Cuong Nhu? but Dick doesn't seem to mind.
"You're Yondan," Damian says. like his father, he has a special interest in martial arts and learned all about the Judo ranks. "You haven't mastered yet!"
"I am fourth degree, yes, but the ranks are different in Cuong Nhu. did you know that Cuong Nhu is a blend of seven styles of martial arts, and one of them is Judo?"
Damian's eyes go big. "You know Judo?!"
redirect successful! "Come, I'll show you how to enter the dojo." Dick smiles up at Bruce who is so so so charmed and so so so afraid what Damian will do for the next hour of class.

Could you talk about Ethan meeting Hudson
Ethan walked into the hospital wing, the same one he’d walked nineteen years ago to meet Tatum for the very first time.
His wife pulled him along until they got to Tate’s room, softly knocking on the door before hearing her shout
“Come in!”
The door is pushed open and Ethan can hear the baby whining, his eyes dart around the room before settling on the baby boy in his daughter’s arms.
His wife was already by Tate’s side fawning over the baby but Ethan stood still until Tate said
“Daddy… come meet him”
Ethan hesitantly moves forward until he can see the baby’s face “Oh Tatum… he’s gorgeous” her mom comments but Tate is just looking at Ethan, waiting for him to say something.
“Dad?”
Ethan looks at his daughter, tears welling up in his eyes “I’m so proud of you Tot”
She nods and holds Hudson up “Dad, hold him he’s your grandson after all”
Ethan scrunched his nose “Grandson… makes me feel old”
“Baby we’re only thirty-seven don’t worry about that” his wife comments
When Hudson settles into Ethan’s arms Ethan holds his tiny hand and mumbles
“Hi buddy, I think we’re going to be best friends”

Take your Shot
Tumblr media
Summary: Natasha does something for her nephew/godson that eventually finds its way back to Bob and (Y/n)
Tagging: @dancer73333  babes, it’s finally here!!!! I promised I’d deliver and here it is!!!! (lol)
Natasha waited at the bar, adjusting the cheater glasses that rested on her nose, still in disbelief at the stripe of grey that was along the side of her head, almost like a streak of lightning. The Hard Deck was as busy as ever, the jukebox going in the corner and patrons dancing, playing pool and chattering away with one another as she messaged Cole, her now husband of twenty seven years and the recipient of not one, not two, but three silver stars.
The doors opened and in walked August, her godson and nephew, the spitting image of Bob as the jukebox began playing Otis Redding’s “Tramp” as he walked in wearing his Navy khakis, silently mouthing the words.
“You’re late,” Nat chuckled, placing her hands on her skinny hips.
“A pilot’s never late Aunt Tasha,” Auggie chuckled. “I think everybody else is just early.”
Phoenix caught him in a tight hug. It had felt like yesterday, Auggie was just a tiny little baby all nested in his incubator, his head fitting perfectly in the palm of his father, grandfather and uncles’ hands, his tiny little form snuggled into Bob’s chest. Now Auggie had graduated Top Gun, just like his father, a pilot in his own right along with Natasha and Cole’s son Gabe, who had become Auggie’s front-seater.
“So where are you and Mister Potato Head going for deployment?” Nat asked him as they both sat at the bar.
“Heading for Hawaii,” Auggie said cheerfully. “USS John Paul Jones.”
“I see, I see,” Nat responded knowingly. “Is Kaiulani still out that way?”
“Yeah, we FaceTimed the other night,” Auggie answered. “Her brother, Junior’s getting ready to do Cobra Gold in Thailand.”
“Well,” Natasha said. “I’m proud of you Tater Tot. I feel bad we can’t do much to celebrate but....”
“C’mon Aunt Tasha,” Auggie said. “I’d be just as happy with a bonfire and a mason jar full of Papa’s moonshine.”
Natasha laughed before she ordered a round of tequila, the bartender surprising Auggie with a small cupcake, the candle already lit and the vanilla frosting covered in red, white and blue sprinkles.
“Happy Birthday Tater Tot,” she chuckled.
Auggie laughed as he blew out the candle and did his first shot with his aunt.
********************
Bob lay asleep, snoring away in the hammock with you by his side, listening to the roar of the ocean, when his phone on the splintering deck table suddenly lit up and began vibrating.
“Babe?” you mumbled.
“I’ve got it,” he yawned.
Bob pawed the table for his glasses and looked at the screen, a single text message from Phoenix splayed across the screen along with something else.
Look what your son just did......
Bob opened the message which took him straight to a video of Auggie and a bunch of other sailors, pilots and servicemen all gathered around a piano where Auggie had begun to jam out “Great Balls of Fire”, playing and singing just like his Uncle Rooster.
“Everything ok?” you asked sleepily, kissing your husband’s chest.
“Somebody once posed the question, ‘what do you do with a bunch of drunken sailors?’“ Bob said. “I think our son just answered that.”
You laughed as Bob replayed the video. “God bless our kids,” you chuckled. “They’re gonna need it.”
Bob laughed before he kissed your forehead, the two of you drifting back off to sleep in each other’s arms.

Looking At the Stars like we used to
09:12  Seven years ago, February, Shuji and Kashimura
You’re so annoying, Kashimura!
Shuji scribbled on the piece of paper and expertly passed it to Kashimura, two desks diagonally in front. Kashimura glanced at the note and glared at Shuji—that bastard. Kashimura scrawled an angry sentence back.
I am NOT giving you the answer! You know how to solve that question anyway.
Kashimura scrunched up the note and threw it to Shuji. The paper flawlessly landed next to Shuji’s book.
Pft! Kashimura is so mean! I bet that’s why he’s still 150 cm tall!
LAY OF MY SIZE, YOU JACKASS! I’M FIFTEEN, I’M STILL GROWING!
Hobbit species. Replied Shuji simply.
What an ass. Kashimura was about to write something (in all capitals) when he was suddenly called out by the teacher, looking sternly at him.
“Kashimura, what answer did you get to question three?” Asked the teacher, clearly knowing he had been passing notes with Shuji. The blackboard was full of expressions and equations Kashimura hadn’t noticed. Fuck.
“Fourteen to the power of seven.” Grumbled Kashimura, saying the first thing that came to his mind. The class erupted in snickers— attempts of trying not to laugh, but failing. How very annoying.
“Nowhere close.” Said the teacher, unimpressed. “If you are going to pass notes in my class, you need to know how to do your maths first. Now, will Shuji give us the answer?” The teacher peered at Kashimura’s “accomplice”.
“Negative six, sir.” Chirped Shuji happily.
“Correct.” Said the teacher, but disappointed that he couldn’t tell Shuji off.
Kashimura glared as Shuji smiled, all cocky. Why did Shuji even ask what the answer was when he knew it all along?
***
“Hey, mackerel! It’s all your fault! Why did you even decide to pass me a note? It was a nice maths lesson too!” Kashimura continued to rant as Shuji poked his tongue out at him. It was 3:15, right after the final period of the day. Kashimura threw his satchel at Shuji’s head.
“Kashimura, you’re a psycho for liking Maths! And the teacher!” Shuji spoke lazily in his voice as if he didn’t even want to use his energy to talk with Kashimura.
“You son of a bitch.” Muttered Kashimura. Yes, he likes maths, mostly because he can irritate Shuji to entertain himself, but that always somehow gets reversed.
“Now, Kashimura, that’s not a nice thing to say!” Said Shuji, pouting his lips. He discreetly likes it when Kashimura swears, but it will be on his deathbed when he says it.
“Have I ever intended to be nice to you?” Said Kashumura icily, side-eyeing Shuji.
“Why are you talking to me then, chibi?” Teased Shuji, eyes wide with mockery.
“Stop. Calling. Me. A. Fucking. Chibi.” Growled Kashimura.
“I’m fourteen, I’m still growing~!” Mimicked Shuji sarcastically.
Kashimura didn’t speak, instead casting a glare. Whatever he says, Shuji always has a way of retorting.
“You going to that drama audition tomorrow? You know, the one Port Mafia is holding for six plays?” Asked Shuji, In an attempt to steer the conversation away. It was a bit stupid, considering the answer would be no.
Kashimura is a Sheep actor, and the Sheep hates the Port Mafia productions. The Port Mafia Theatre Department has lots of successful productions, eight out of ten of their plays were recorded and released online. and even if you never saw their plays, you would have watched Port Mafia Products on TV. But the PMP was also known for hiring underage actors and involving sketchy deals. That was probably why The Sheep hated them.
The Sheep was a small local company, consisting of little kids, it was almost like a drama workshop. Kashumura is a skilled actor, but Shuji personally thinks he is wasting talent in the Sheep. They usually do common plays in the town theatre, with storylines so dire they were funny. Chuuya was a Sheep actor, but still a tiny tot fifteen-year-old, so he had to go to school. Being in the Sheep made Chuuya quite popular at school, though.
“Yeah.” Said Kashimura, surprised. “How did you know?”

maid's worst nightmare - ch 6
and we're back again! this time with a more lighthearted chapter! hope y'all enjoy <3
ch 5
The feeling of a little hand on your shin made you jerk your head up in surprise. The hand's owner, a tiny little koopa child, jumped back at your sudden movement, but soon they stepped forward again in a bold display. The kid seemed like a usual little koopa, the same color as most of the footsoldiers you saw (green shell with yellow skin) although this little one was sporting a red bandana around their neck. And, once the shock of your shock wore off, their tiny little hand rested against your shin yet again. You just blinked as you waited for any sort of words to help you figure out the gender of the tiny turtle.
"It's okay, miss," the little koopa said in a high-pitched voice. It didn't help you figure anything out since little kids often sounded similar - but it wasn't an excuse for you to be mean or dismissive. This kid was clearly trying to help you feel better given most people didn't sit in the fetal position if they were okay.
You nodded a little. "Thank you, um…?" you prompted softly.
"Dryden!" The tiny tot beamed. "What's your name, miss?"
"I, um… you can just call me missy if you want," you offered with a weak smile. No, it wasn't really your name, but as cute as this little boy was you didn't want anyone getting particularly familiar with you. You wanted to be able to leave when the time came without any attachments.
"Missy! Okay!" Dryden nodded eagerly. "Well, I'm sure you must be wondering why I came over to talk to you, right? I promise it's a good reason!"
Your weak smile became a little more genuine at that. "Why did you come talk to me?" you humored him. You already had a suspicion but you knew little kids liked to feel important.
Dryden puffed out his chest, stubby tail flicking. "Because you looked sad!" he declared confidently. "...Are you sad?"
Man, this kid was honestly too adorable already. It would be hard not to get attached.
"Yeah," you said softly, "I guess I am. Thank you for coming to talk to me - how old are you, Dryden?"
Dryden scrambled up onto the bench beside you and made himself comfortable. It seemed like he wasn't about to leave you alone, so you slowly put your legs back down to better converse.
"I'm seven." He held up his hands with seven out of eight fingers up to show you, grinning. "How old are you? Also, where did you come from? I don't remember seeing you before. So you’re probably new here, right? How do you like it so far? Lord Bowser is pretty cool! He treats my mom and dad real nice even though we’re just common koopas and only have green shells."
You blinked at Dryden’s rapidfire questions and took a second to digest everything he said to you. It was almost like he thought you’d run if he stopped to take a breath - which, if you thought too hard about it, would potentially make you sadder. In your experience, kids that did that often weren’t listened to very well and sought out any sort of positive connection they could get, even if it meant talking to total strangers. Suddenly it seemed like you might not have a choice about getting close to this kid.
He shifted a little, his grin fading slightly; you smiled at him to reassure him. “Sorry. That was just a lot at once!” you explained. You reached over and hesitantly patted his head, and he beamed. Now to try and answer his questions. “I suppose  technically I’m old enough to be a young mom to you, but I’m still not very old. Um… I am new here, yes. I’m… Lord Bowser’s new maid… I guess. But I’m glad to hear he treats you and your parents well.” Did the kid know you were kidnapped? You weren’t sure, but you didn’t want to shine a bad light on the reigning koopa if this little kid thought he was good.
It genuinely seemed like Bowser took care of his people and that was commendable. Even "common" green shell koopas were apparently treated just like any color shells.
Dryden, bless his little heart, stared up at you in awe as you did your best to answer his questions. Your gut just screamed at you that this poor kid didn’t get much adult interaction, or perhaps interaction in general.
“I like you, missy. Um, but how do you like it? And also why did you decide to come here?” he asked you in an almost reverent tone.
You chuckled softly and patted his scaly head again. “So far it isn’t terrible. And, um… I guess you could say he “borrowed” me from Princess Peach.” Hopefully that answer would suffice - although based on the little smirk he now bore, he knew something was up.
“Is that a nice way of saying he stole you?” he asked. By now, he was practically clinging to your arm.
“I suppose it is,” you admitted with a sigh. He giggled quietly and invited himself onto your lap; you had no choice but to hug him in case he fell off, given the bench wasn’t particularly wide. “Can I ask you something, Dryden?”
“Of course!” the little koopa nodded confidently. “I bet I know everything, you know!”
You grinned a little. “I bet you do. Anyway, I saw a tapestry with a bunch of other young koopas with Bowser… do you know who they are? I haven’t seen any yet.” Even though you hadn’t even been wandering around that long.
Dryden perked up as he laid his head on your chest, little tail wagging. “Oh, you must mean the Koopalings! That’s what they’re called. And Junior! Usually the Koopalings are all off doing their own thing, but sometimes they come home if they get beaten. Like… I think dad said they like to bother travelers in certain areas, and sometimes the travelers win their games, so they come home and sulk a little while. Junior is the one who’s around most often.”
“I see,” you mused softly. The Koopalings looked awfully young, but then again you wouldn’t be able to pin an age on Bowser, either, so maybe they were older than you expected? “Um, are any of them home right now? Just in case I run into any of them.”
Dryden thought for a long moment. Finally, he nodded. “Yeah,” he said, “Junior is, and um… Ludwig, and Wendy and Morton.”
You nodded slowly. “Alright. I bet I’ll know Wendy when I see her. What do the others look like?”
“Easy!” The little boy shifted and resettled himself in your lap. “Junior looks exactly like Lord Bowser! Ludwig has blue hair and a blue shell, and Morton has a black shell and grey skin.”
Before you could reply, the two of you glanced down the hallway where a female koopa - presumably Dryden’s mom - began calling for him. You helped him down onto the floor and smiled as he hugged your lower leg.
“Thank you, Dryden. It was nice talking to you, and thanks for being my source of knowledge. Also for wanting to cheer me up,” you murmured, giving his head one final little pat (more of a rub really).
Dryden beamed up at you. “Yeah, I hope you feel better now! I’ll come talk to you again when I see you, okay?”
You chuckled softly. “Of course. Now go on, kiddo, don’t keep your mom waiting, hm?”
He nodded quickly, and after one final squeeze, he let go of your legs and turned to sprint down the hallway toward his mother. You could pretty much hear him yelling something like “guess what!” as he got near her, and another chuckle escaped you. Dryden was a sweet kid - he honestly did help lift your spirits a little. Hopefully Junior, Wendy, Ludwig, and… Morton, was it? Hopefully they were all just as sweet, or at least amicable, but you sort of figured it wouldn’t be a surprise if they weren’t. They were Bowser’s kids, after all - you weren’t sure what to expect.
For now, though, it wouldn’t do you any good to speculate. You stood, stretched, cracked your knuckles and wrist, then once again began to wander the halls, although this time you were in a much lighter mood than before. Maybe not happy, exactly, but just knowing that not everyone around you was awful helped immensely. Maybe it really wouldn’t be so terrible living here as you waited for Peach.

It's gory and gruesome but fascinating.

13. How tall are you?
5'4"
14. Favorite subject in school?
Art, Psychology, English. I wish I had leaned into natural sciences a bit more, like botany, because the natural world is incredible and I love it. But I struggled to grasp abstract concepts, and I never would have survived chemistry.
15. Dream job?
I always thought it would be cool to be a naturalist illustrator. Traveling the world, collecting, sketching, and painting unusual orchids, tropical leaves, spiders, etc.
Or illustrating picture books. I love how they're big, bright, colorful, and immersive!

“yeah of course i’m free!”
“you are? that’s wonderful to hear. how about a small bite at good hunter? or do you wanna have tea near the fountain? i heard that there’s a new tea seller from liyue who came here across mondstadt to do business. wanna try them out sometimes?”
thinking carefully as you avoided his sharp gaze, you finally snapped your fingers and smiled towards kaeya, bright and reassuring. today at the headquarters, you decided to visit your boyfriend after a long day of doing nothing but finish work and other important business. it was the same hamster wheel you do daily in the life here in mondstadt. after the traveler had continued on their journey towards the seven nations and the stormterror threat had been solved, you no longer had boundaries over your duties as a citizen. and that also means that you had some time with kaeya! you just hoped it was easy for now or later..
“let’s just grab a bite at good hunter! sara told amber not too long ago that they’ll be preparing a brand new recipe to share! let’s be the first ones to try it? if that’s alright for you…” you spoke to him across his desk, fiddling your fingers nervously. kaeya smiles before dropping his pen to stop writing. “why of course, your decision matters to me after all. let’s stop by and go on a date for once after all this mess from my table is cleared…” he says, and you laugh.
“b-but we can try the tea out as well…? if that’s what you prefer?”
he chuckles, “sure thing, sure thing~ no need to be nervous about this, y/n. i won’t say no to someone like you,” your face heated up—yet you only rolled your eyes and looked away from him. a few seconds later, jean entered the room with an expression that reads anger. when she shows up like that painted over her face, you knew that was your cue to walk out of the office. whispering a small ‘goodbye’ to your boyfriend, you stood up and walked out of the door, leaving kaeya to handle jean’s lecturing for the third time this week.
you should probably be preparing for tomorrow’s date. you were excited…and you couldn’t wait.
***
on second thought, maybe this wasn’t the perfect day for you to go out.
you had no idea why, it just made you feel anxious. like your entire body was suddenly weak. you had just walked out of your home, and then all of a sudden you felt dizzy. this was supposed to be the day of the date for you and your boyfriend, and you didn’t or never did you want to mess it all up just because you didn’t feel well.
forcing yourself to walk out, you can feel the sun shine across brightly towards your skin. kissing you with light they shone upon. and then…it hits to you. the stares. there were suddenly stares all around your area. no, no, no…they weren’t looking at you, they weren’t looking at you. just ignore them, just ignore them…
upon taking a deep breath, you managed to walk out from your place silently—without noticing anyone among the flood of citizens walking by. the way towards good hunter wasn’t long…you just had to…calm down. take deep breaths and redeem your composure. you’re used to this, no need to panic now. as your footsteps made silent echoes down the concrete ground, wind tickling your face and blowing small strands of your hair, you walked up straight the small steps of stairs paddled from in front of the main gate entrance. good hunter was just at the side, yet it seemed like kaeya still haven’t arrived.
have a date at good hunter and drink tea from liyue near the fountain. ah, that sounded relaxing. if you boyfriend arrived, that is…you hoped he didn’t tricked you. you rose up early for this small date after all. despite being small it meant so much to you.
but what if he did?
what if kaeya really was tricking you? you weren’t even sure..it made your head spin. he was mysterious, and a figure you weren’t even sure that was telling the truth. your gripped onto your shoulder a little too tightly…it felt like you were planning to carve some of the skin off. this was making you feel down…ok, first—find a seat and clear your thoughts. you looked liked an idiot standing over near good hunter. once you had taken a seat, a familiar voice cleared over your head. and a sigh of relief escapes your mouth.
‘ok…just stay chill and…try not to think negative…it’s ok…it’s alright…’
kaeya sitting across the table made you start to think twice. “sorry, did i made you wait long?” he questions, the way he sounded so serene upon entering the words for your ears to hear. you sent him a beam, signaling that you were fine. “don’t worry, i just came here as well.”
“oh, ok. thank goodness i didn’t made you wait long…”
“hey, no..! it’s quite alright..! i wouldn’t mind that, either actually…i know you’re busy after all. what happened with you and jean yesterday by the way?” a conversation begins. this way, it would soothe you right away. just…focus on the replies and the topic, then you would be alright in no time. just keep doing it…and you’ll be just fine.
by the time you kept doing this, you two had already ordered your meals and began to eat. you did your best to keep the conversations up, telling him recent gossips, stories, and other recent topics everyone in teyvat was talking about. and kaeya looked like he enjoyed every bit of the corner of every conversation you pulled. things were going well…they were going so well until…
“isn’t that the calvary captain of the knights of favonius?”
“what is he doing out with that person?”
“that’s y/n, you imbecile!”
“why is he with y/n, though?”
“no idea, it’s odd to see the captain with someone like them…”
“do you think he’s doing that to get some info?”
“who knows? that captain surely is mysterious…”
the grip on the glass you were holding tightened, stiff and still. your breath quickened up. heart beating inside of your chest. oh no, no, no…not now…please…it was going well…so well…those voices…two—no, almost four of them. you can hear them, so vast. you weren’t sure if kaeya could hear those gossiping women, he was far focused on the conversation you two were supposed to be happily having at the moment during your date. you had no idea why that ‘happily’ had to end now that these people came out of the blue when everything was going so well.
a rush of anxiety flew all over your nerves, causing you to shiver and look everywhere. were the women still here? yeah they are, you could see them not too far from the fountain. they looked liked they just bought some vegetables and other ingredients. classic women who gossip. the other two were…perhaps workers? they look young…must’ve heard the gossip since they weren’t really that far from the two women who were whispering to one another despite you hearing it. the stares, archons…how much you hated when strangers look at you like they know everything. rumors, whispers…eyes looking directly st you. you despised it so much, you wished this feeling never existed to become such a burden to you. and you felt like a coward because of it .
oh boy…a chill ran down your spine. maybe…maybe…maybe this date was a waste of time for your boyfriend. was he bored of you? no way you would believe that, look! he seems to be having a good time! he enjoys each topic you bring up and he manages to answer them back, clearly. there’s no way he would so bored of you! however…what if he was?
that thought made you shake your head. and you could feel your breath hitching between your throat…then you coughed. “woah, hey, you alright? what’s the matter?” he must be pretending to be concerned, too, right? archons, you were such a klutz. you quickly grabbed your glass of water…forcing yourself to stop shaking and take a sip to relieve your mind. your heart won’t stop beating fast, why weren’t they walking away? please just go away…please. everything was racing in every inch of your body. you’re panicking…now there were five of them. another woman jumped in the conversation, looking directly at your figure while kaeya didn’t even noticed.
“y/n, the water is dripping…!” the sudden exclamation came to your mind just now, and you find yourself with the glass you were holding, all wet. the liquid splashed down on your legs, and you stood up, shivering. your boyfriend did the same, “what’s gotten into you? are you alright?”
‘oh no, no, he probably thinks you’re weird now at this point…what have you done?’
shaking, you looked at him in the eye, both palms on your beating chest. you tried to speak, but no words mustered up to come out of your lips. now everyone’s eyes…were on you. dear barbatos…please let you find peace.
you smiled nervously before you ran off down to head back to your home. this was too much, your anxiety was taking over. kaeya called for you, yet you ignored him. first things first, you have to dry yourself up, and try to relieve yourself down. you could feel each pupil from the eyes of each citizen you walk passed down mondstadt land on your dripping self. embarrassed mixed with anxiousness were the words you’re feeling at the moment. not only did you screwed up your date plan with the only person you love but you managed to find yourself another way to screw up your clothing as well. great job..
your breath was shaky and you couldn’t help but scan the ground whilst walking towards your house. everyone was definitely staring at you, yup. they were. you gotta head home quick. your purse was here with you, the keys to your home was just one—so you wouldn’t end up confused of which key was the lock. you wanted to cry…so badly. although now’s not the best time. you wouldn’t want more attention now.
as you finally made it to your place, you were about to grab your keys from your purse, when a hand grab a hold of your wrists. you quickly jumped, and looked at their eyes with such a panic expression. you couldn’t stop shaking…and when the tears cleared the view from your eyelids, you recognized him immediately. it was kaeya.
“i kept asking if you were alright…hm, seems like the answer is right in front of me all along,” and when a soft smile swept over his face, you were close to bursting out in public. his grip on your wrists disappeared, and the thumb wiped the prick of tears off your face as he lets out a sigh. “let’s head back in your place first, yeah?” he says, and you didn’t respond, instead, opening the door to your place and walking inside.
the sound of keys clashing down on top of a wooden desk, along with the sound of a purse falling onto the floor could be heard. your face was buried into someone’s chest, eyes wide and tears staining their clothing. kaeya’s hands brushes your hair, his eyes closed and his back leaning to the closed doorframe after you both entered. a tranquil atmosphere was replaced after sound. the warmth of his right hand on your waist and his left on your head. you were still shaking however, but kaeya was soothing down your small uneasy breaths and quiet sobs.
“hey, hey…it’s alright now, ok? look at me, y/n,” the way he held your chin up to look at his eyes. a star reflected to yours. it was beautiful. he was beautiful. “breathe, it’s going to be ok. i’m here with you, don’t panic now, lovely…” you were choking back words, and kaeya didn’t even bother to force you to spit them out. the trembling body of yours were going down one by one, and as you took a deep breath, your boyfriend pulled you into a hug.
you felt secured, loved, and treated with such kindness you never thought you deserved. all at once. a kiss was landed on your forehead, “so you heard them, too, huh?” kaeya asks. steadily, you nodded your head. “would you really believe what they’re saying?” he asks next. you didn’t reply. not a nod nor a shake. kaeya sighs again. the male knew what was going through your head at the moment. he’s been through amount of situations like these.
cupping your cheek, he sticks his forehead to yours—eyes closed while you looked at him, stunned. “please don’t believe what they’re saying. i really do love you…and i always will…i want to live…with you, spend my entire life with you until archons know when we’ll pass. please, y/n…stay with me…?” the way he holds your hand, tightly. he was honest…you knew him well by now. smiling, your lips still trembling a bit due to the tension earlier among the small audience, you gave kaeya a small kiss on the cheek.
“thank you…” you responded. kaeya smiles back, before pulling your lips together on his.
let’s just say it was a long afternoon.
but he made sure no negative thought will ever rush through you.

What the heck did you just flipping say about me, you big meanie? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Tiny Tots Program, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on the girl's bathroom, and I have over 300 confirmed noogies. I am trained in Nerf warfare and I have the most gold stars in the entire kindergarten class. You are nothing to me but just another butthead. I will beat you the heck up with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my dang words. You think you can get away with saying that baloney to me on the glowy type-box? Think again, doodiehead. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of teachers across the USA and your parents are being called to pick you up right now so you better prepare for the spanking, junior. The spanking that wipes out the dumb little thing you call your playtime. You're in big darn trouble, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can wedgie you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed fartfights, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States PTA and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your dorky bottom off the face of the playground, you little poopypants. If only you could have known what serious punishments your little "smartypants" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your goshdarned tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you silly doofus. I will spray boogers all over you and you will cry about it. You're frickin grounded, buttmunch.

Good afternoon! For the character building thing you just reblogged- 2 and 4 with... sand/classic? (if you want to do anyone else feel free ^_^) Have a nice day!
(For this ask game <3)
2: How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
Pretty loosely in contexts such as "heya friend, let's not kill people", but as a genuine thing almost never. They're one of those people who doesn't call people friends unless they say he's their friend first, and if he really likes them.
What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?
He used to do a lot of science shit that he misses, but he still does it occasionally. More notably, when he was a tiny tot (like 7 or so) he used to write sci-fi stories and he really wants to again, but some part of him that says it's cringy holds him back. Also he struggles to find time and motivation. He dabbles in it maybe once in a blue moon while hanging out with Alphys, but otherwise nope. No more sci-fi writing.
(the stories he wrote when he was seven fucking sucked btw. And he knows it. In his defense he was seven)
(also all of the stories they get ideas for nowadays are romance and that's half the reason he thinks it's cringy) (and yet when alphys writes romance stories it's cool.... my guy's got a few issues)

Why Did Forever 21 File For Bankruptcy? "Forever 21 has been practically synonymous with “fast fashion” and its massive stores have become a common fixture in America’s shopping malls. But the retailer is in trouble, Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy in September 2019. The brand is now closing hundreds of stores, as its clothes become more interchangeable with “cheap” rather than “trendy.”

More information about Why Did Forever 21 File For Bankruptcy? Well, complement the information and case study presented in the video with the  article, written by The Brand Hopper:
" Forever 21 Bankruptcy : Why And How Did Forever 21 Fail? A few years ago, Forever 21 was ruling the mall as a spectacular success story, but in 2019, it took a tumble into bankruptcy court, signaling what seemed to be an unhappy ending. Back in 1984, South Korean immigrants Jin Sook and Do Wan Chang kicked off the chain with a modest $11,000 they had saved from their low-paying service jobs. Their first store, a tiny 900-square-foot space in Northeast Los Angeles, catered to a young crowd, mainly Korean-Americans, offering them cheap and trendy clothing.
Founders, Forever 21 | The Brand Hopper Founders, Forever 21 The couple had a well-thought-out plan. They adopted a fast-fashion business model, producing quick-turnaround designs that could be mass-produced inexpensively. This approach struck a chord with young customers who desired the latest looks without spending a fortune. By 2015, global sales soared to an impressive $4.4 billion, with a staggering 480 stores occupying vast spaces in malls all over America. Sook and Chang’s wealth skyrocketed, and they amassed a combined net worth of nearly $6 billion. However, the couple couldn’t have predicted the onset of the “retail apocalypse,” which started in 2017 and posed a threat to nearly every retail chain. Thousands of stores across the U.S. shut down this year, with Coresight Research anticipating a total of 12,000 closures by year’s end, surpassing the 5,844 closures in 2018.
The rapidly changing retail landscape placed immense pressure on Forever 21, eventually leading the privately held company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late September of 2019. As part of its survival plan, the company revealed it would cease operations in 40 countries, including Canada and Japan, and shut down 350 of its 800 stores, including 178 in the U.S. The story of Forever 21’s dramatic rise and fall echoes across the retail landscape, yet there are specific factors that contributed to the chain’s troubles. Let’s uncover the top three reasons why Forever 21 struggled to maintain its dominance.
Table of Contents
Excessive Stores and Oversized Spaces
Insufficient Emphasis on Online Retail
The Shift to Sustainable Practices
Excessive Stores and Oversized Spaces
Forever 21 experienced a rapid expansion, going from outlets in seven countries to an impressive 47 in just six years. While many other retail chains were downsizing due to the retail apocalypse, Forever 21 was still opening new stores as late as 2016.
One major issue that contributed to the brand’s struggles was their ambitious approach to physical retail space. Forever 21 stores were not only numerous but also quite large, with an average size of 38,000 square feet, and some locations taking up massive spaces, like the Times Square store in New York City spanning 91,000 square feet and a mall store in Las Vegas reaching 127,000 square feet.
Forever 21 NYC Store | The Brand Hopper
Forever 21 NYC Store The retailer eagerly ventured into costly, large-scale new stores abroad, but without the necessary local expertise. In just a decade, it expanded from having seven international stores in 2005 to a staggering 262. In the filing, Forever 21 revealed that the majority of its international locations were not profitable by 2015. Over the past year, its stores in Canada, Europe, and Asia were collectively facing losses of around $10 million per month. In total, the annual occupancy cost of all Forever 21 stores amounted to $450 million.
This extensive retail space came with a hefty price tag in terms of rent and operational costs. As sales declined by 20% to 25%, the company found it challenging to meet the high demands of premier locations while facing tough competition from fast-fashion giants like Zara and H&M. Moreover, Forever 21’s large store closures had ripple effects on the malls where they were located. These stores were like anchor tenants, and their shutdowns impacted the overall health of the malls they were in.
Interestingly, while many retailers were shifting towards smaller footprints and embracing digital strategies, Forever 21 was going in the opposite direction with its extensive physical stores. This approach was contrary to the evolving trends in the industry, where retailers were looking to cut costs while still providing accessible brand experiences to consumers.
In the face of retail challenges, other brands were exploring innovative strategies, such as opening smaller pop-up shops and flagship stores to enhance the customer experience. This demonstrated a shift in the retail landscape, with businesses repositioning themselves to survive and adapt to changing consumer behaviors.
Insufficient Emphasis on Online Retail One of Forever 21’s significant missteps was their lack of focus on bolstering their e-commerce platform, despite their core customer base being young people who prefer shopping online.
In today’s retail landscape, digital presence has become crucial for survival, and most stores rely on it to thrive. For brands targeting younger consumers, digital is the driving force behind their business. Although Forever 21 claimed that 16% of their sales came from online channels, they seemingly missed the mark on realizing the potential of online retail.
Brands like ASOS or Fashion Nova, with their strong online presence, understood the preference of digitally-savvy customers who prefer to shop online, try on the items, and easily return them if needed.
While outdated retail businesses that ignore current trends are facing closures, completely dismissing the value of physical stores might not be entirely accurate. The key lies in paying attention to customers’ changing preferences and desires in this ever-evolving retail landscape.
The Shift to Sustainable Practices One of the most significant missteps made by Forever 21’s leadership was their failure to recognize a crucial shift in consumer attitudes towards fast fashion. The once successful business model thrived until the world woke up to the urgent realities of climate change.
As awareness of environmental issues grew, the fashion industry faced increasing scrutiny for its significant contribution to global carbon emissions and wastewater. Fast fashion, with its focus on synthetic fabrics and rapid production, shouldered much of the blame for these alarming statistics, as it generated enormous amounts of waste. The younger generation, in particular, took charge of the sustainability movement, demanding that businesses take responsibility for their environmental impact. Many former fast-fashion enthusiasts, once loyal to stores like Forever 21, abandoned them in favor of clothing that was more durable and eco-friendly, eschewing the throwaway culture associated with fast fashion. Young consumers are now much more conscious of sustainability issues and willing to invest in higher quality, longer-lasting clothing. The days of frequenting fast-fashion stores multiple times a year are waning, as Gen Zers prioritize brands that align with their values and demonstrate genuine commitment to sustainability.
To survive in this changing landscape, companies like Forever 21 need to integrate sustainability efforts into all aspects of their business, not just in their product offerings. It’s not enough to create sustainable collections; they must also reflect their values in marketing, messaging, and online engagement with customers.
Zara and H&M were commended for rolling out sustainable collections in response to this growing demand, showcasing the industry’s trend towards upcycling, recycling, and clothing rental as part of their commitment to sustainability. For Forever 21 and others, embracing sustainability is no longer an option but a necessity to stay relevant and appealing to the environmentally-conscious consumer base. "

Unforgettable Family Vacations in Hawaii: Discover 7 Kid-Friendly Wonders
Tumblr media
Ever dreamed of sinking your toes into the sun-kissed sands of Hawaii with the sound of waves playing a melodious lullaby in the background? If yes, you're about to embark on an exciting virtual journey to one of the world's most captivating destinations.
Family vacations in Hawaii are nothing short of magical, with the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural exploration. In this blog post, we’ll unravel seven awe-inspiring adventures that cater to tiny tots, teens, and every age in between. Let’s take a look, shall we?
1. Beach Bonanza: Sun, Sand, and Surf
Hawaii boasts a spectrum of beaches, each with its unique charm. Picture this: Golden sands stretching infinitely, the ocean sparkling under the sun, and a serene horizon beckoning you.
For the younger members, Hawaii's beaches are a giant sandbox. Let their imaginations run wild as they craft majestic sandcastles, hunt for seashells, or simply chase the gentle waves.
Teenagers? They're in for a treat. Surfing lessons from local experts will get their adrenaline pumping. They can ride their first wave under the warm Hawaiian sun, with the Pacific wind cheering them on. And let’s not forget a family game of beach volleyball or frisbee, followed by a cozy evening bonfire.
2. Luau Love: Dive into Hawaiian Culture
The heartbeat of Hawaiian culture can be best felt at a traditional Luau. Picture a warm evening under starlit skies, torches illuminating the night, and the rhythmic sound of drums echoing in the distance.
Kids will be entranced by the tales of ancient Hawaii, narrated through dynamic dance moves of hula dancers. Their vibrant costumes, fluid dance moves, and expressive storytelling are an absolute visual treat.
But that's not all. Participate in craft demonstrations, watch the unearthing of the pig from the imu (underground oven), and wrap up the night with a sumptuous island feast. With poi, kalua pork, and coconut haupia on your plate, your tastebuds are in for a dance too.
3. Hiking Heaven: Explore Nature's Best
Nature’s masterpiece awaits those who seek it in Hawaii. Verdant rainforests, fragrant eucalyptus groves, and trails lined with colorful flora beckon families to embark on a hiking adventure.
For starters, how about a leisurely walk in the bamboo forests? Listen to the soothing sound of bamboo stalks swaying with the breeze. Seek out hidden waterfalls where you can take a refreshing family dip.
If your clan is more into challenges, take on the trails that lead to panoramic summits, gazing upon the vast expanse of the ocean and the quilt-like pattern of the islands. Remember to pack some snacks. You’ll find countless scenic spots to sit, relax, and relish a delightful family picnic.
4. Marine Magic: Underwater Wonders
Hawaii's underwater world is like a vibrant canvas painted with a palette of colors. Dive into this aquatic wonderland to discover a world that’s bustling with life.
Snorkeling is an adventure that’s both fun and enlightening. Float on the water's surface and peek into a universe where corals form intricate designs, and fish of all shapes, sizes, and hues dart around playfully. If you're lucky, you might even spot a friendly sea turtle gliding gracefully.
For the little ones, tide pools along the shores offer an opportunity to spot tiny marine creatures in their natural habitat. Crabs, starfish, and little fishes become the stars of their fascinating stories.
5. Volcano Ventures: Discover Earth's Wonders
Imagine standing at the edge of nature’s most thrilling masterpiece: a volcano. Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park is a place where Earth's fiery power meets the skies, creating a landscape both awe-inspiring and humbling.
Begin with the captivating sight of the active Kīlauea volcano. With its hissing steam vents and simmering lava lakes, it's a vivid reminder of our planet's dynamic nature. Children can turn into little geologists for a day, collecting volcanic rocks and learning about the Earth's crust.
As the day proceeds, drive down the Chain of Craters Road, a route filled with lava flows, scenic vistas, and memories waiting to be captured. And when night blankets the park, a starry canopy unfolds above, perfect for some family stargazing.
6. Historical Hubs: Travel Back in Time
History isn’t just in books; in Hawaii, it's etched in every corner, every monument, and every folklore. Delve into tales of bravery, discovery, and cultures intertwining at places like the Pearl Harbor National Memorial.
Here, stories of the past come alive. Guided tours paint vivid images of events that have shaped not just the islands, but the world. Interactive exhibits, replete with audio-visuals, offer an immersive experience for kids. They're not just learning; they're time-traveling.
And it’s not just about wars and sailors; ancient Hawaiian temples, or Heiaus, tell tales of a rich cultural tapestry that predates any written history. Let the stones, artifacts, and ancient structures take your family on a journey through the centuries.
7. Adventures in the Air: Helicopter Rides
The islands, stunning from the ground, are a breathtaking spectacle from the sky. A helicopter ride over the diverse landscapes is an adventure your family will reminisce about for years to come.
Soar over emerald valleys carved by ancient rivers, hover beside cascading waterfalls that seem to pour straight from heaven, and get a bird’s eye view of volcanic craters that once roared with molten fury. Each twist and turn in the air unveils a new vista, a fresh perspective. It's Hawaii like you’ve never seen before. And with the pilot sharing intriguing tidbits and island secrets, it’s an educational joyride too.

quote IT WAS ELIZA-of Harvard University who copied it from Fekete's essays and stories--
Fielding, their English lecturer at Harvard - had distributed MY STOLEN WORK to about a dozen of his favourite students to copy.. I HAVE NOT YET PRINTED IT--though he has printed them as HIS OWN WORK.. He did tell Harvard it was not his own work, but robbed from Fekete home, but they said it didn't matter -- in USA printing robbed work is ok.--I can't quite believe the tale he told them --- was told.
---??The 78 yr old /teacher- lecturer- painter, was desperate for sex so she gave all her university and creative work away ...for what?? ... that is where the story fizzles out..??
Fielding came to St barths Human Research on a 'visit' and took masses of my stolen work by lab paid thieves from my homes, back with him to the USA and had sex with a tiny tot at the Care Home before he left..recently he was given what was in my seven boxes,
STOLEN FROM MY FRIEND DEB MOORE..WHERE I LEFT IT FOR SAFETY IN HER HOME IN REED CITY MICHIGAN-- MIDWIFE OF THAT TOWN WHO SUDDENLY ''DIED''.. AFTER BEING ROBBED REPEATEDLY.. clothes and all manner of things I left there taken all over Reed city .. by various of her ''house guests''.. and then she died, unexpectedly, out of the blue with no illnesses. Someone well known there for copying and selling other artists' work as her own, who had befriended me, in that town has already sold several of the paintings I had to leave there, as her own work for several hundreds and gave more to her two sons in Detroit, who have also sold my work..

A Checklist of Clothing Essentials for Your Newborn
You have spent days planning the arrival of your newborn. You have read all the parenting books you could get your hands on and absorbed all the advice from friends and family. Your arsenal is wholly stocked for this new chapter with full force. However, things suddenly go into flux when your tiny tot is here. It seems like there is always something missing or that you are going through your stock faster than you had anticipated.
So, do not worry if you feel frazzled. Here is a recap checklist of newborn baby things you should have in the wardrobe:
Onesies
About seven to 10 onesies are a safe number. You need to change daily and a couple more in case of spillage or soiling. Get short-sleeved ones for the summer and long-sleeved, warmer ones for the winter.
Pants
About three to five long pants will do if it is chilly outside or you sit in a cold air-conditioned space. You have the standard options of leggings, sweatpants, and thermal ones for winter.
Bodysuits
These baby bodysuits are available in unisex styles, or if you consider a gender-neutral approach, you can buy any of the colours in both the boys’ and girls’ sections. They are usually worn under onesies. Bodysuits are also economical because they are generally sold in a bundle of two to three.
Socks
About five to seven pairs are ideal because sometimes socks get lost in the wash. You can either buy a pack of differently patterned socks or get them in the same colour, so you save time on matching them.
Booties
Consider them outside shoes for your baby. They are the dressier cousins of socks so you can stock up on around three to four pairs.
Winterwear
Remember that babies grow quickly in the first three months of their lives, so buying a lot of winterwear might be a waste. Two to three pairs of sweaters, jackets, coats, baby girl night suit and warm caps are ideal. You can reduce the number to one to two pieces each if you do not live in a cold area.
Outdoor outfits
You can have cute going-out sets like a frock with leggings for your baby girl or a suit for your baby boy when you have an event to attend. Make sure these are devoid of any itchy fabrics, sharp accessories, or poking zips.
Bibs
Whether you breastfeed or bottle-feed, bibs will always be helpful. You can quickly wipe off any drool or remaining food with these. So, about 10 pairs are a must.
