So Beau DeMayo dismissed the possibility of Gambit returning via time travel, but he's being very coy about the Deathbit theory. And they've definitely been teasing Deathbit a lot since ep4, so that seems like the direction we're going in.

I'll take it if that's how we get Gambit back, but it's pretty depressing. I really wanted the story wrapped up this season. And I suppose there's a chance that could still happen if they have Prime Sentinel Gambit stand in for Deathbit, but I'm less convinced of that theory every day.

And I REALLY don't want to have to wait a fucking year for new episodes only to then have to endure a whole season of Gambit as a villain. And don't even get me started if they go the AoA alternate timeline route. Just don't. That gets a hard pass from me, thanks.

But Gambit fans are no strangers to angst and having to wait ages for something good to happen. I just want him back and if this is the way it happens, then so be it.

Just please don't make us wait until season 2 to see him alive again. I don't want to be sick over this for the next year, not knowing if I'm ever going to feel better about it or not. Give us a mysteriously empty grave, give us Deathbit in the final moments of ep10 as a cliffhanger. Just give us SOMETHING to put our minds at ease because just leaving us hanging with nothing to go on when season 1 ends would just be fucking cruel.

Have you thought about how Squirrelflght's second and final trial would go? (Or her nine lives ceremony, assuming she doesn't die for Bramble's manpain before receiving them.) I like to think after Ashfur's circus, perhaps even her detractors would be at least a little more sympathetic to her.

Will definitely be one of the reasons why the Sisters come in to help send so many cats in. Right there is a practical reason for her enemies to acknowledge the value of Fire Alone (though she would be frustrated they even needed A REASON when it was always the right thing to do)

And, most importantly, Ashfur fucking ate Skystar. A 'circus' is putting it nicely, Ashfur just destroyed a big part of the afterlife (the Meadow of Young Stars) and one of Squilf's biggest detractors was murdered by another one.

I like when my brain comes up with something that hurts my own feelings. Melkior was always a very physical kid I think he loved play fighting. His foster siblings, his uncles, his pets, pretty much anyone who was around. He liked wrestling and rolling around in the dirt, he likes the excitement and the animal joy of touching people and the competition.

He keeps getting bigger, and his Urge is getting stronger. A six year old can't do that much damage, but I think around 11 there was an incident where he played too rough. Someone got an eye scratched out, or a limb dislocated. And suddenly no one will touch him anymore. The other kids run away when he gets close, even the adults get nervous if he starts moving too erratically. He tries really hard to be good, to not hurt anyone ever again. But he can't handle not being touched he can't handle how cold and distant everything feels. It keeps building and building, working into dreams where he bites and scratches and kicks and punches until they're nothing but warm red, coating every inch of his skin like the embraces he misses so badly....

One day they're not dreams. One day he gets taken home to a new family. There aren't a lot of kids, but there are plenty of people who are happy to fight him.

But they don't fight for play.

tip/reminder for anyone stressed about their grocery budget and/or who just loves to eat good food - MAKE YOUR OWN STOCK.

keep a zip-lock bag in your freezer for veggie scraps (literally shit you'd throw away - the ends of carrots and onions, onion peels, celery ends, etc. you can google and/or play with which scraps to use vs. not but mine always has lots of onion and carrot). you can put herbs you like if you want and have them.

if you don't eat meat, when the bag is full, simmer the contents in water for a long time - hours. you can also do it in a crock pot or pressure cooker if you have one. throw in some scraggly veggies from your fridge. peppercorns, bay leafs, some garlic. half a lemon. whatever you want and have. almost-bad tomatoes are fine in there but will make it much darker. simmer until you have broth (a little thicker, a lot darker, smells delicious), strain it and freeze it. use it in soup, sub for water when you make plain rice to make it healthier and tastier. make pastina. add it to other dishes for a nutritional and taste boost.

if you eat chicken or beef (or other meats but thats what i usually use), throw in the bones and scraps too. don't skim the fat (unless you have a medical reason to avoid animal fat).

i keep chicken and beef stock in my freezer ALWAYS and get super pissed when i have to buy broth/stock because it's expensive and tastes like nothing compared to what i make.

i freeze mine in mason jars (leave room at the top so they don't explode in the freezer!) because i'm southern and have so many in my house it should be a crime, but you can use tupperware, freezer bags, whatever you've got.

i ran out of chicken broth last week so i bought a whole chicken for $10 (they used to be $5 wtf) and roasted that in the oven with some veggies which was 2.5 meals for my family of 3 and then put the carcass and leftover bones and scraps in a pot with my freezer bag of random scraps and simmered it forever and the resulting broth smells so good it's making me hungry even though i just ate. i've got a quart jar and 6 pints of goodness going in my freezer and i made it all with stuff that otherwise would've gone in the trash.

you know the thing I hate about individuals awards in football is that they’re so hard to quantify so you’ll keep hearing takes about how some player was robbed or another player didn’t deserve their win. and most of the time, it’s literally a positional thing. it’s so hard to evaluate things when goal scorers are obviously the most important which is why defenders, defensive/box to box midfielders, and goalkeepers rarely get awarded and then when they do, people are mad about it bc xyz player has 5000 goals/assists. even though their functional roles are so different.
