Phoenix Tatooine day trip Goes Wrong™️ (X)
This is a little idea where Luke needs something (don’t ask me what) that he can only get on tatooine, so dinluke adventure ensues. The plan is to get there and leave ASAP, but then nostalgia hits and he needs to hit every shop and place he used to as a kid. But you know, “college kids comes back to hometown” syndrome hits and he realizes he’s changed too much. Think of how the holiday season doesn’t feel the same anymore now that you’re an adult, same feeling. AND YES ITS ALSO DUNLUKE BECAUSE I WANT THEM TO KISS AND TALK ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS AND ALSO KISS.
Heres some extras 🫡

One thing that really grinds my gears when it comes to the discussion of Rebels is the consistent misrepresentation of Kallus' redemption for ship purposes.
Kallus' redemption arc is not about Zeb. Yes, Zeb kickstarts it, but he did not make Kallus a rebel. And I find it so irritating when people reduce his arc down to "haha he fell so in love he switched sides" like please.
For Kallus' redemption to work, for it to be worth anything, Zeb cannot effectively be a part of it. The entire point of Zeb telling Kallus to search for the answers to questions he hasn't asked is because Kallus needs to see it for himself. He needs to realize for himself. He needs to realize everything he's been a part of.
And that's why I dislike it when people woobify him and turn him into this character who's constantly asking for forgiveness from Zeb. Because even aside from the fact that it's just weird to put Zeb in the position where he needs to constantly forgive the guy who was complicit in his planet's destruction, that's just not what the arc is about.
Kallus looks for the answers. And in the end he's more aware than anyone what he's done, what he's been a part of, and that it needs to be fixed. He's not a soft character and his redemption doesn't change that, it just means that he's changed his actions to be consistent with his morals. Zeb is not guiding him or teaching him or even present for most of it, and that's important.

Teenage Exocolonist Kids: How would they be as Jedi?
Sol: Our nonbinary icon is THE Jedi, especially after Transcendence. Goes on a long multi-lifetime journey to learn to accept there are things they cannot change and tragedies they cannot avoid is PEAK Jedi story. Definetly Master/Councilor material
Tangent/Tang: Eh, Tangent would probably not be a very good Jedi when it comes to active duty. She struggles with empathy which is a core Jedi value, but I think Jedi training would help her come to terms with her identity in a very helpful way. Definitely a more "stays at the Temple and researches/debates" type Jedi than one who goes out on active field work.
Cal/Recalcitrance: My gentle, plant-loving pacifist husband is PRIME Jedi material! Definitely head of the AgriCorps and teaches the younglings about cool plants from across the Galaxy on his off days. Man is literally great for the role of a Jedi. He's a Master, but probably not on the Council as he has no patience for politics.
Nem/Anemone: Eh... I do not think Nem would be a very good Jedi. Too angry, too attached to the memories of her loved ones. Relaly I see her more as a nat-born soldier or a light-aligned Bounty Hunter who works with the Jedi, but doesn't really get them. Not to say she's bad, but if she were trained as a Jedi she'd probably Fall at some point. However, I do think she'd make her way back to the Light eventually, with help. But, I don't see my girl as a very good Jedi.
Dys/Dysthymia: Dys would be a good Jedi... but only in certain circumstances. Definitely a Jedi Shadow, but with how he fails to get along with others I can't see him doing traditional Jedi things. However, he does have an instinctive knowledge of letting go. But, I do see his inability to feel fear as a detriment. Jedi train to overcome their fear and at in spite of it, but since Dys can't feel fear, i feel he would be missing a key piece of Jedi education. Not good.
Marz/Marzipan: Marz, actually would be a GREAT Jedi! Granted, not a very conventional one, with her love of the spotlight and drive to succeed, I see her as the Jedi's Liason to the Senate, as one of the few of the Order with a head for Politics. This lady would have the Senate and the Media eating out of her hand, giving the Jedi a sterling reputation. While she struggles with passion in some cases, I think she could easily overcome it!
Tammy/Aspartame: Did someone say Creche MasteR? Because this lovely lady is a Creche-Master! She would not only be great at caring for the Younglings, she's treasure every moment of working with them and readying them for the journeys ahead. And is Definetly secretly a Master and a badass, she actively chooses not to kick people's asses. Peace and love, baby.
Vace/Olivaceous: Not a good Jedi. At all. Too proud, too full of ambition and vainglory to hack it as one of the Servants of the Republic. Probably a Mandalorian, honestly, and a neutrally aligned one. If he were to become a Jedi he would fall. Period. He's too much like Anakin, too focused on his own glory and power to understand the Jedi Way.
Nomi-Nomi/Nomination: I'm...honestly at a loss, here. I think Nomi would make a very... weird Jedi? But a good one, probably? They're definitely kind and compassionate enough to be a Jedi, but they struggle with attachment so... probably a mid-ranked Knight who's a Smash Hit with the Younglings. Probably the first Jedi Twitch Streamer.
Rex/Basorexia: Honestly? Rex'd be a good Jedi. No in-depth explanations here, just vibes. Definitely Jedi material

Anakin truly set out the goal to marry Padmé as soon as he first laid his eyes on her. He didn't even interact with her that much to come to the conclusion that he wanted to wed her. As soon as they met again 10 years later, he wasted no time and put a ring on that finger. They didn't even take at least a month; they went straight to marriage. Their romance is essentially a Disney fairytale 😅❤️

I think that 'you're like a father too me' vs 'you were my brother' is crucial in understanding the Anakin and Obi-Wan dynamic and their particular brand of dysfunctional communication.

I am asking you about Darkness because I would absolutely love to hear you ramble more!
Okay! Haha, I'm being enabled.
I kind of want to talk about their relationship to Light, haha, because uh...that's a Whole Thing that I'm probably not going to get to touch on in Fallen Stars.
So there's...I have a whole bunch of myths, etc., I've made up for the KH-verse, haha, but basically, the idea here is originally there were two entities that "made" the world--Darkness and Light. Stories varied on whether Light was first, and Darkness was born from them, or if everything came from Darkness, or if they always just coexisted, but the idea remains the same: there are two major forces in the universe that have some "control" over everything.
While some of the worldbuilding re: the different aspects of Darkness I had to leave behind, I still like the idea of them essentially controlling everything that's negative about the world--from outright evil to things that are more benign but unpleasant. And Light, conversely, controls the opposite.
Unsurprisingly, the two of them have trouble seeing eye to eye, but they don't actually hate each other. The biggest point of contention is actually that Darkness likes to get actively involved in the mortal world; Light is Not A Fan, and thinks the two of them should just "go to sleep," so to speak, and let humans/animals/animal people/etc. do what they will with what they've given them, but Darkness is extremely fascinated with their creations and likes to see how they react when faced with different stressors.
Also, me and @chibifightfu were talking about this at one point, but if Darkness split into thirteen parts, why shouldn't Light have split apart, too? And we already have the Princesses of Heart... So basically, while Darkness split into thirteen and kind of wanders the world freely, Light split into seven and just hides inside people, and jumps to new people when something seems too dangerous. (Which is why Ven was considered a "pure light" in UX, and why Darkness was so focused on him initially--at least, in this 'verse, haha.)

george lucas handed an overwritten mess in and then the fandom + otherwise involved creators in the extended universe and other supplemental media have spent the last decades ritualistically dissecting it and reworking it’s constituent parts into some of the most fascinating worldbuilding you can get. and the average person has no knowledge of this and just watched disney completely fumble it within an hour and a half of their first title crawl in The Force Awakens and proceed to completely fall apart within the next 3 hours . and that’s just what star wars is to them

idk why these fucking ppl keep bringing up “but the Geneva Conventions! they’re breaking real life laws against war crimes!!” like if it’s a joking thing…whatever? i guess? but some of these guys are dead serious abt it.
you’re in a fandom for a franchise called STAR WARS! do you realize that it takes place a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away? that It’s Not Real. it’s Fiction. it’s a fake whimsical sci-fi universe. george may have took some inspiration from things and situations in our world but it’s most definitely and quite overwhelmingly obvious that it’s not Our World. and how we work.
the Geneva Conventions do not exist in Star Wars. if there’s specific Space Humanitarian Laws Against War Crimes let me know but i’m saying that there’s no fucking GENEVA Conventions bc they are in Space, and once again, in a GFFA. you sound nuts for even trying to apply Geneva to a fictional sci-fi universe. how is this an actual argument that gets regurgitated and accepted in this fandom?
All fiction requires a certain detachment from reality. Whether it's magic, over-the-top action scenes, dramatic dialogue, etc. However, the recent obsession with "realism" in fiction has opened the floodgates to everyone complaining about it. The obsession with accusing fictional entities of real-life war crimes is a symptom of it.
So when you see a Padawan fighting against Battle Droids and instead of seeing the whimsical element of it, you call them a child soldier, you've missed the point. It's about showing interesting characters engaging in a fun story; it's not supposed to be reflective of reality.
It's why I'm not a fan of people complaining about everyone's pitiful aim in Star Wars (by real life standards) or the people who dive into biology to try and prove that women can't be action heroes. You're not supposed to be thinking about fiction like that.

Anakin Thinks your Saber Form Sucks, Nothing Personal (drabble)
This was a side tangent written as a companion piece to this ask about sparring with anakin (nsfw)
What I'm imagining, given his arrogance, is he has a very delicate sort of hierarchy system to navigate, especially in the aotc era when it's been known that he's in a student position and should be seeking out opportunities to get stronger.
He likes the thrill of winning, so he's not above sparring younger padawans, or less experienced swordsmen, he thinks of it as a moment to teach them what he knows. However, (and this isn't canon at all) I feel like he'd never spar with anyone who hasn't graduated from Shii-Cho to other saber forms, even if it's their plan to master it like Master Kit Fisto, he has an unconscious (semi-conscious?) bias against it. Which, don't get me wrong he absolutely respects it as a sturdy foundational form, he just won't spar with someone if he's already decided in his head that it wouldn't be a fair fight, because he's just that arrogant.
I'd go as far to say that on certain occasions he's voiced that "you shouldn't even be allowed to keep fighting Shii-Cho, it should be mandatory to learn other saber forms" and the clones (because he'd never say that in front of other jedi) just look at him like... yeah ok whatever that means. He's canonically expressed issue with the way padawans are trained in combat, he thinks it's too easy and doesn't set them up to be as strong as they could be, so I feel like he'd see people sticking with Shii-Cho as another reason to criticize the padawan training regiment as "failing to inspire excellence."

My nichest Star Wars gripe is Wedge Antilles’ father’s name. This assholes name is Jagged Antilles. Yeah you hear that right Jagged Antilles. I read his name while I was scrolling down wedges wiki. I’ve never seen this man, I’ve never bothered looking him up. but I just know intuitively that I hate him. Not only is his name the dumbest thing I’ve ever read, his name doesn’t even make sense in the context of wedge’s name. Wedge’s name is a reference to the simple machine, because he’s a soldier and he’s an effective cog to a bigger machine. HOW THE FUCK DOES JAGGED FIT INTO THAT. WHATS WORSE IS THAT I CAME UP WITH A BETTER NAME LITERALLY WITHIN SECOND S OF READING THAT NAME. AXLE. AXLE ANTILLES.
SEE IT WASNT THAT FUCKING HARD TO COME UP WITH A GOOD FUCKING NAME. THIS FANDOM MAKES SUCH A FUSS ABOUT THE STUPID JOKE NAMES LIKE GREEDO OR BLEEBO OR WHATEVER THE FUCK, WHILE THE REAL CRIMES LIKE JAGGED GET OFF SCOTT FREE

ok wait so in "ARC Troopers" when Ventress and Grievous are having their little pissing contest and Grievous is all "get the clone DNA" Ventress asks why they're stealing it and not destroying it and Grievous says "it could open up new possibilities for us"
and while obviously part of this is that Palpatine doesn't want his clone army to be depleted too soon, especially since I bet this early in the war he's not entirely sure when his endgame will come, I'm also thinking about those new possibilities, like. it wouldn't just be "oh they can clone someone" and it wouldn't replicate any of the Kaminoan tech or the chips. It is specifically the clone template they'd be stealing, meaning the new possibilities they're gunning for are... clones that look like their enemies.
naturally I am now inventing an au where some clones are Separatist sleeper agents grown extra extra fast because sometimes you have to look at a story where the main appeal for you is an exploration of what it means to have autonomy and agency when the world denies you these things, and make those questions even harder to answer. like you do.

I just love watching how much of a nerd Din is.
I was rewatching TBOBF ep 5 and it's so clear how much of a passion he has for spacecraft. He never outwardly discloses how much he loves them (he's not really that type of person) but hearing him just spout off random terms that would go over most people's heads shows how much of an interest he has. The way he talks about them is exactly how people talk about their favourite shows/hobbies etc.
When Peli is telling him to thank her for the N-1, he tells her that if she finds him a Razor Crest she can have the Starfighter back.
Now I love this for two reasons: 1) it shows how much Din loves the Razor Crest, and despite it being an old ship that most people can be a bit judgemental on, it's probably his favourite. And 2) when they finally finish the N-1, you can tell that Din actually loves it.
Seriously, he kept acting annoyed about the whole thing but you can tell he was really passionate when modifying it and the way he looks at it afterwards, you can tell he's happy. Just watching him look it over and trace his hand over the ship, you can see that spacecraft are one of the things that bring Din a little bit of pleasure in life.
Yes, seeing Din in bounty hunter mode is great, but I love this side of him. Just watching him geeking out over the Starfighter is adorable and it makes him feel more real. It's more relatable.
