botw hc's - Character SOs
These are going headcannons for how I'd imagine a few of the botw character's SO's to act. Kind of like different versions of y/n, if that makes any sense. I might use these in future posts. Enjoy!
Warnings: Slight mentions of possible depression in some?
Sidon's SO:
Sidon's y/n is a fun person, but really sensitive
I think they'd have some sort of tragic background that they wouldn't open up to for a while
It didn't help that the Zora did not accept the relationship for awhile
Sidon is always there to comfort y/n, but he's often busy due to his princely duties and he doesn't notice everything
Other than comforting each other, their relation is actually very sweet in other ways
Sidon enjoys taking y/n many places outside of the village
Picnics and other little surprises, he absolutely LOVES spoiling y/n
Also the size difference, he loves how small and delicate y/n is, he feels like he always needs to be there to protect her
Link's SO:
Link's y/n is very talkative, like the opposite of link
They have a great sense of humor and they are pretty extroverted as well, y/n does most of the socializing for the both of them. A lot of times y/n has to drag Link to events
Link and y/n absolutely love going on adventure across Hyrule together
Y/n loves to help out on fights and impress link with many of the skills he's taught them, however he often gets very protective and doesn't like them getting too close to any danger
Link is definitely the better cook, however y/n has picked up on quite a few recipes from Link and isn't awful at using the cooking pot
Often times y/n will feel the need to keep certain feelings bottled up inside because they've never really had anyone to share important things with.
Link ALWAYS can tell when something is wrong and will question y/n until they share what's on their mind
Revali's SO
Revali's y/n is extremely sweet and can occasionally be a little introverted (however mostly leans toward omnivert)
They mostly stay within Rito village unless Revali accompanies them.
y/n loves to read and just stay cozy in this cold environment.
They are always the little spoon, and Revali loves how petite they look compared to his larger/taller physique
Y/n does have a tendency to feel as if they are less then/not enough for Revali
When he finds out he gets pretty concerned, after all it takes a lot for such a great Rito hero to fall in love, when he does it's not just anyone.
Y/n means so much to Revali
He's always concerns about they're well being and acts way different around them than others

my thoughts after tears of the kingdom
i finished it two days ago and this is when i have the time to actually make a post and this game deserves a post.
spoilers below! you have been Warned.
my thoughts, in no particular order:
the post-credit end scene made me cry... very badly... mineru sounds so proud but also so sweet and oh my goodness. and then tHE SAGES JUST BEING FRIENDS AND REHEARSING THEIR VOW TO ZELDA???
i'd like to think they didn't clue link in. just kinda whispered 'get back when we do' and link was just as surprised as his girlfriend (i am a zelink truther.)
i'm here for the sages being friends
the final boss battle was Brutal and you have no idea how relieved i was when the sages joined the party. i was like 'oh my god YES thank you so much' (side note: sapphire scepter MVP for the monster army phase)
GIANT DRAGON FIGHT. EPIC. MY HEART WHEN THE LIGHT DRAGON DASHED IN TO SAVE LINK OH MY GOODNESS ZELDA STILL REMEMBERS HIM IN SOME CAPACITY. AND THEN YOU HELP GUIDE?? ZELDA??? i might write something about it.
i love my mini spirit army aka the sages. riju's little lightning dance is so pretty, sidon is. sidon (and i love how they explored what losing mipha really meant with the water temple), tulin's an excitable talented baby who must be PROTECTED and it's nice to see yunobo taking charge
zelda... my beloved... light dragon... i did the final fight with a shard of her horn attached to the master sword because i wanted her to be there in spirit for the fight too... i kept apologising and going 'sorry zel, just a shard of your horn, okay? i'll clear the shards of your spikes away for you'
dragon's tears quest Destroyed me. it's tears of the kingdom because zelda represents hyrule because she's the blood of the goddess and therefore the tears of the kingdom-
hear me out. link should have cried too so then the tears of the kingdom are the tears of the hero and the princess
THE HAIR TIE. AND THE CHAMPION'S LEATHERS.
i haven't even done all the side adventures... i have to do those...
my hoarding tendencies versus 'sharp thing with many power stick it on the sword.'
100/10 game i love it...
FIERCE DEITY SET GOD DAMN i have the fierce deity set + sword and also the dusk claymore and link is in his Past Lives era
using autobuild to harvest apples >>>>
i never thought i would miss the guardians... and then i met gloom hands... and i was like 'give me BACK the laser spiders
also why did you complain about calamity ganon being too easy... it took me three tries to get through ganondorf...

maybe i do: ch 2 messy hair and stolen glances
read ch 1 here ♡ read ch 3 here
Link was escorted into the throne room by Rivan and another Zora guard who pushed open the massive pearl and lapis lazuli encrusted doors. Link picked up on the shock that echoed through the room, here he was in all his abysmally pathetic glory. There was a new figure sitting to the side of who he recalled was Prince– no King Sidon. There was a foreign feeling in Link’s chest, though he couldn’t place the emotion.
He stood up from his formal bow after the guards had announced him, after the formalities he was gonna crash so hard. There was nothing that drained him more than being around people, acting formal and composed, and being asked about his “adventures” and gushing about what a great hero and person he was. He wasn’t either of those things. He was rash, abrasive, selfish and an overall mess all of which he had to hide from the entirety of Hyrule. Not even Zelda had known the full extent of these feelings, even with her he felt an obligation to act like a different person despite how comfortable around her he felt. The truest emotions and the oh so heavy guilt he felt for all the death and loss he had caused were nestled deep within his psyche far far from anyone to see. He was the chosen hero of the Goddesses, the savior of Hyrule, and the one who had conquered Calamity Ganon. All of this was either a lie or the truth stretched so far they were basically lies too.
He snapped back to reality at the sound of an orchestra beginning to play. Oh, the banquet had started and somehow he had been so consumed by his wallowing in self pity he had been running on autopilot thanks to the amount of events he had been forced to attend with Zelda. He was also somehow mid conversation with Bazz, the captain of the Zora guard.
“... and then King Sidon had burst through the doors drunk as all hell! I don’t think he’s ever going to recover from the embarrassment of completely interrupting his father’s council meeting after attending a party hosted by my guards.” Bazz choked back laughter in order to mostly retain his composure at this formal banquet.
Sidon had looked up from his meal quickly glancing over at the mention of his name. He furrowed his brow at Link’s apparent blank, spaced out expression which Link quickly cleared and composed himself, setting his face to his usual stoic yet semi pleasant look as quickly as possible. He stared at his plate and picked at the food, his usual hearty appetite was replaced by a sickening feeling in his stomach, he needed to clear his head as soon as possible. Somehow he zoned out yet again and magically everyone began clearing the hall signaling the banquet is wrapping up for the night.
Link slinked his way out of the building and headed as swiftly as he could to his favorite spot in the Domain, the Veiled Falls. The fierce but somehow gentle roar of the falls lulled the disturbing thoughts that rattled around in his brain every waking hour. He sat down on the edge of the pond the falls fed into, pulling off his boots and socks and stuck his feet in the cold water. Despite it nearing fall the air was still warm and sweet after the sun had set. Watching the fireflies dance and bob through the air, his mind calmed. This, this is what he loved about Lanayru: the fresh air that smelled and felt different from anywhere in Hyrule. Absolutely nothing could compare. He sat there for a few hours, letting the spray from the falls douse his messy hair and his feet go numb from the frigid water. Boots in hand, he trudged back to the guest room that had been prepared for him. The room was small, he had specifically requested the smallest room that was tailored for non-Zora guests who couldn’t use the sleeping pools. He threw his boots in the corner with the rest of his belongings and went to take a much needed bath.
⟡ ⟡ ⟡
He woke up to the sun burning his retinas as soon as he opened his eyes, clearly he had forgotten to undo the curtains. The bed was surprisingly comfy for being as hard as it looked. Wanting a few more moments in a real bed, which he hadn’t slept in for several days he pulled the comforter over his head and dozed off again. That was until there was a brisk knock at the door. He grumbled internally and heaved himself up out of bed. Whoever was waiting outside was very impatient as there was another brisk knock. Link scurried to the door not bothering to smooth his wild bed head or throw on more presentable clothes, he typically dressed in his most ragged clothes not wanting to throw out clothing that was still technically functional. He opened the door just enough to see who was outside, fucking Goddesses help me of course it’s the Zora king. Sidon waved, seemingly unbothered by Link’s severely unkempt appearance.
“Greetings dear friend! I just wanted to personally invite you to breakfast and make sure you were doing well. I had noticed you looked a bit out of sorts last night. If you need to talk about anything I’m here as your friend as a shoulder to cry on so to speak.” Sidon absentmindedly rubbed the back of his neck, his head tail swaying slightly.
Link wiped the puzzled look off his face quickly, he had no idea the King thought they were so close. He didn’t remember visiting the Domain that often, perhaps Sidon just got easily attached? Regardless of the reason why there was definitely something Link was not aware of. Mentally shrugging off the thought he nodded before signing to Sidon, “Let me get a little more presentable. I’ll meet you in the dining hall? I think I remember where that is.”
“Actually, my family and I have invited you to our personal dining area for a more secluded breakfast. I remember you not liking the attention from the masses. I’ll wait here and escort you if you would be so willing for me to do so.”
With a hesitant nod, Link spun around and closed the door to scrape himself together for a breakfast with the Royal family. Link took the fastest bath of his life and furiously scrubbed his travels off his body. Despite having managed to bathe last night he still felt too unkempt to be in the presence of royalty again. He rifled through his belongings, looking for something decent to wear. All of his nicer clothes he had ditched back in his old house in Hateno, the memories of him being forced to wear Hylian regalia while serving Zelda and the Hylian Royal Guard was too painful not to mention a waste of space and weight on his near constant travels across Hyrule. The best he had was his champion’s tunic and a somewhat ragged pair of trousers. Good enough. Hoping he hadn’t taken an outrageous amount of time, Link slid out the door and was greeted by Sidon who didn’t seem at all bothered waiting for Link to get ready.
“Well shall we?” Sidon motioned for Link to walk by his side and they took a path Link had never seen before. The walls were etched in Zora writings accompanied by simplistic drawings of historical events. Link stopped when he noticed the familiar symbol of the Triforce and the Master Sword resting in wait.
“This is the Calamity isn’t it?” Link signed in awe of the sheer size of the depiction of one of Hyrule’s greatest tragedies, one that he had lived through and caused. His ears drooped ever so slightly, the waves of negative emotions rushing back with more force than a tsunami. He hesitated before tracing a finger over the Triforce. So much for embodying the Triforce of Courage. Fucking coward. He looked up at Sidon who had been hovering just behind Link, patiently waiting for Link to continue moving. The king was staring at something, in Link’s direction… his hand shot up towards his hair. Fuck. In Link’s frenzy getting ready earlier he hadn’t really bothered brushing or even finger combing his hair instead opting for a frantic towel dry and rushing out the door. What a disastrous mess he must look like.
Link heard Sidon muttering something about Link and wavy hair? He chose to ignore this, not wanting to think about the Zora KING judging his appearance. Instead, Link turned away from the wall of pictographs. At this point they were close enough to the Royal family’s personal dining hall Link could hear the King-Father Dorephan’s bellowing laughter echoed through the empty marbled halls. He and Sidon walked the remaining paces and entered the much smaller than expected room. Dorephan’s eyes lit up at the sight of his son accompanied by Hyrule’s hero.
“Welcome dear Hero Link!” Dorephan motioned to an empty seat already laid out with two or three courses of breakfast. While Link’s stomach grumbled quite audibly he still hesitated to begin eating until he felt expectant eyes from several people. His insides churned from the oncoming spurt of anxiety, but forced himself to take a bite of salmon which was buttery soft and seemed to melt in his mouth as he chewed. Instantly, he relaxed a little bit and as politely as possible began to shovel food in his mouth. He took another bite of  the grilled salmon and pondered if the taste rivaled his own to which he couldn’t decide and simply finished off what was left on his plate.
The breakfast conversations were polite but very light in substance. Mid-bite Link glanced up at Sidon chatting away with a green manta-type Zora, who wore a silver circlet on her head encrusted with sapphires. The royal gemstone. For some reason which Link hadn’t quite figured out, he choked on his bite of food and tried to play off the coughing fit that had sent him into by chugging his goblet of water.
“Hero Link! Are you alright?” The green Zora exclaimed, reaching to the center of the table for the water pitcher which she quickly passed to him. Link gratefully refilled the cup and chugged yet another goblet of water finally regaining his composure. Her face was laced with what Link could tell was genuine concern. To which Link chalked up to if the hero of all of fucking Hyrule had asphyxiated in the presence of the Zora royal family surely public relations with the other peoples wouldn’t be good.
The rest of breakfast passed by without many other incidents. As Link was beginning to exit into the hall Sidon beckoned Link over to where he and the green Zora stood. “Link! I would like to formally introduce you to Queen Yona, my newlywed wife! We just recently got back from our honeymoon trip to Lake Hylia.
The ringing in Link’s ears became deafening, but again why? He thought he barely knew the Prince, no, King. Link reminded himself again of that fact, just another sign that the world was changing and leaving Link far, far in the past. Link snapped himself back to the present just in time for the weight of Queen Yona and King Sidon’s expectant looks honed in on him.
“Congrats! I had no idea you two were even engaged let alone married or I would’ve sent a wedding gift.” His hands fumbled through the signs, giving the couple a feeble smile of congratulations.
Sidon smiled, “Why just knowing all of Hyrule is safe within your hands is enough of a present for the both of us. Peace truly is a gift that couldn’t be more treasured.”
Yona politely excused herself, explaining that there were some other tasks that required her attention but she would see them again at dinner if Link was so inclined to join the family again. She gave Sidon a gentle pat on the shoulder before leaving them completely alone in the dining hall.
“I just so happen to have been given the all clear on my schedule for the day so I can show you around and spend some time outside of my duties. Would you like to join me?”
Link cautiously nodded, mentally shrugging. It seemed like a quiet retreat in the more secluded sections of Lanayru would be more than impossible at this point. It was whatever, he told himself, it’s not like this would be the end of the great hero of Hyrule. Maybe this would end up being good for him.

"I had to protect princess Zelda and help restoring Hyrule! I had to follow my duty!" Link's voice broke mid-sentence, full of frustration and desperation.
Link preferred to sign when talking wasn't a necassity and Sidon used to cherish every moment the Hylian felt comfortable enough to speak freely. It wasn't loud and boisterous, like a lot of other male Hylian talked but soft and gentle, tinged with a slight rasp caused by disuse. To Sidon, it was one of the most beautiful things he ever heard. He had loved how Link talked passionately about a new recipe he tried while gesticulating wildly, had loved how his face distorted into pleasure and his pants turned into high keens and whines, had loved all the sounds Link offered him - one way or another. He had been enchanted by the energy of this little blond Hylian who was so much more than he appeared to be. He was powerful and loyal, thoughtful and empathetic, kind and passionate. Sidon had memorized all of the scars that painted Links body, knew all their stories. He had watched in trance Link's swordfighting, hunting and climbing heights Zora could only dream of.
And the Zora prince of course told him such. And everytime, the Hylian tried to hide his blush and stutter. Oh, how Sidon had loved to pamper Link with poetry, gifts and trinkets and his praise.
But that was then. Time has passed ever since. Link had had his duties, Sidon had his. And with princess Zelda back, the Calamity defeated and Hyrule in a state of disarray, Link came fewer and fewer to Zoras Domain. Sidon's letters received fewer and fewer answers and maybe they didn't always reach Link - or maybe they did, Sidon didn't want to think of that - but somehow, somewhen, Sidon had to turn his focus on his home. With his father getting older each year and new challanges for the Domain arising every day, prince Sidon had to take responsibility and care for his kind.
Years have passed ever since Link and Sidon had seen each other. The Hylian gained more scars and first strand of gray hair here and there - stress, no doubt. He seemed different go when Sidon last saw him. Older, more focused and maybe more weary. Of course, with Princess Zelda back and order returning to Hyrule, Link had to re-take his position as the Princess' personal knight. And with such job, came a lot off pressure back. Expectations wore him down and somehow, the free-spirited adventurer and hero that Sidon had gotten to know, vanished.
But now, right in this moment, the kind man that had helped saving the Zora from Vah Ruta stood back in front of Sidon. Emotions clear on his face and voice cracking, the feelings Sidon had thought he had repressed and forgotten, reemerged. He wanted to hold Link, comfort him and hide away from the world.
Still- "So had I, Link. I had to do my duties as heir to the throne of the Zora and taking a fiancé was inevitable. We both knew that."
And the Hylian turned more into himself with his eyes downwards. Despite his strong voice, Sidon felt bitterness and hurt returning. He knew he was lying to himself. He knew he still loved Link. He too thought they could leave their duties, build a home far away from their responsibilities. But that was years ago. And Sidon was about to get married soon and be crowned. He couldn't let old feelings get in the way of his future. As much as his heart pained and screamed at him.
--------
hello hello you tiny little people in my phone. This is my second time ever posting on this app but tears of the kingdom is a really really good game and I had a lot of feelings about Sidon and Link.
(Imagine this being a late night conversation and they catch up on each others life with this big elephant of them dating after botw. Yona comes up in that conversation and feelings ensue and here you go. I was too lazy and uncreative to write that, sorry, but that mythe situation I had in mind)
Back in 2018 when I first played botw, I never understood the hype about Sidon but after replaying it recently in order to be prepared for totk, I really do now. Fell into a rabbit hole for this funky shark dude, whoopsie daisy.
Anyway, the whole thing with Yona makes me feel things and I wanted to write some angsty, painful Sidlink but with English not being my native tongue and having adhd, I know that probability of writing and finishing a good fic is very unlikely, I preset you this. I vomited this in maybe an hour and it's almost 4 am now and I gotta work later, yikes. Not beta read.
Idk if its good but I love validation from other people so tell me what you think!!

Hi! I just had a random question for sink me in the river at dawn😭 I was wondering if kino would ever have a relationship with link? Or if link is gonna show up in the story at all. Not anything romantic but like if they would ever be friends, or if link would open up to her stuff like that. Also idk if asking this would be a spoiler but like what does kino thinks of link? If that makes sense, j apologize English is not my first language but I tried lol😭 also I absolutely love your story there’s not a whole lot of Sidon fanfics that are x oc or reader so finding yours was like finding a diamond among rocks, I started reading it a while ago but I just wanted you to know that it’s probably one of the best Sidon fics I’ve read and I love it so much❤️❤️❤️it’s hard to express how I really feel about it but just know you’re helping me get through tough times right now even if you don’t know it, much love!
Hi Nonny! Sorry for the delayed reply. Been busy and not on lol. But yes and no. I'm going to read more this so not too many spoilers for those that want to stay unspoiled.
As there are multiple arcs to the story, yes he does show up. In all of the arcs. Kino in this arc doesn't really ahve much of a relationship with him as she gets this weird forboding feeling from him. Like nothing against him (from her) but him being around sends a chill down her spine and makes her feel like 'this is wrong'. This arc ends for kino not long after Link frees the beast.
There's a thing with/about mipha that happens, then Kino is in the domain when guardians attack. And not long after an attack the arc ends. Arc 2 she meets link briefly mostly when Sidon introduces them.
And Arc 3 is based on ToTK so she isn't in direct contact with link a lot. But in down time, and anytime Link would just visit she actively likes him and considers him a friend/ally.
Kino's overall thoughts are positive. She thinks he's a real hero and wishes she could be like him. Not taht she wants to leave the domain nor that she wants to adventure like him, but to be as mentally strong as he is.
Ahhhhhh thank you. I really want to get back to writing it but i've ahd a lot mentally draining me that it's ahrd to write recently. Your comment is one of the few that've made me really want to get back into finishing this fic.

Name: Link Namika
Alias(es): Fox
Nickname(s): Kit (Twilight), Hero, Champion, Champ, Sage
Birthday: (I am currently working on a calendar system for this AU, so this will come later.)
Age When Introduced: 23
Pronouns: He/She/They (depending on the day)
Height: 5'4
Source: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom
Sexuality: Polyamorous, Panromantic, Asexual
There will be major spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom under this. Like. Endgame spoilers.
Favorite Color(s): Wild loves blue, but a very specific blue. They can’t help but notice that the color of the Sheika magic and the color of their favorite wolf’s eyes are the same blue and they love that shade all the more for it.
Disliked Color(s): Red. Blood moons and the calamity itself were both red and he isn’t here for that. They don't mind Gerudo red, or the red of apples, but other than that miss them with that color. Any shade of red outside of Gerudo red tends to send danger signals off in their mind.
Skills: Fox has a number of skills, but one of their biggest assets is that his fighting style is so diverse that they can adjust it on the fly as needed. Their sword skills are a convoluted mix of old-remembered knight's training, attempting to copy how monsters fight, attempting to copy how a wolf fights, Gerudo fighting, and the variety of things that Twilight (who also has quite the ensemble of sword skills) taught them. Their spear skills are much the same, but without the help from Twilight and adding in what they learned from the Zora.
Over the course of their two adventures they have had abilities given to them and later taken away so when you add that into the mix you end up with a fighter who is very quick at thinking on their feet and able to adapt to basically any situation.
At this point, Fox still has a couple unique abilities; flurry rush, bullet time, fuse, ultrahand, and recall. And he's basically mastered how to use these abilities for combat (and outside of combat in some cases).
Outfit/Design Notes: Fox has a wide array of clothing and accessories that they will wear whenever they feel it fits (whether for looks or practicality). And it isn't uncommon for them to change their hairstyle. to match their outfit either. But even with all this variety, there are some things that remain the same.
Fox has a number of scars scattered across their torso and arms, many of which are from when the guardian beams hit them 100 years ago. They also have a method they use to let people know what their current gender is using earrings. Blue/sapphire earrings are for boy days, red/ruby earrings are for girl days, and purple/amethyst earrings are for they/them days.
Also, after Fox beat Ganondorf and Sonia and Rauru used their body to channel magic into Zelda to return her to herself it also returned his arm to normal. Well, mostly. Neither he nor Zelda came out of the adventure looking quite how they did before. Fox's right arm and shoulder are covered in black markings that now lay not only where the marks used to be on their shoulder, but also tracing where the gold band-like structures used to be on them. And the skin that isn't directly marked like has a sort of bluish-grey tint to it.
They still wear the energy cells on their hip and there is now a dark green energy stone resting against the eye above where the energy cells sit.
Other: Fox is gender-fluid, shifting between he/him, she/her, and they/them. And they’re also polyamorous, pantomantic, and asexual. They have a qpr with their Zelda and a romantic relationship with both Sidon and Yona. At this point Fox remembers everything from before the Calamity, but the memories lack emotion and inner thoughts so they don’t feel like they belong to them. Because of this they don’t really identify as the person from back then.
By this point, it has been almost a year since the end of totk and they’ve fairly adjusted to the changes to their own body their abilities thanks to the loss of Rauru's arm followed by him obtaining Minaru's Secret Stone. They do miss having the other sages travel with them sometimes, but they feel better knowing that Zelda has a form of protection mo matter how far apart they are. Plus their own projection helps protect Zelda as well. And this also allows them to always be fairly aware of if she was in danger or not. And the general direction she was in in comparison to them.
Over the years since waking up in the Shrine of Resurrection Fox has gotten a bit better about being able to talk verbally if they feel it's needed. The words no longer stick in their chest quite as badly, but they still aren't very comfortable on their throat so they much prefer using Hylian Sign if at all possible.

For some positive takes on Totk
Ganondorf’s design is just amazing. I kinda miss the Trident he has had for years, but damn, they just went hardcore on his design. It’s probably my favorite Ganondorf design of the bunch.
The final fight with Ganondord was mechanically pretty fun. I liked the permanent loss of hearts. It kinda offsets the healing issue botw/totk has. And his flurry rush is so damn cool.
The Horned Statue is freaking hilarious. It trying to make deals with a fish is funny imagery.
The Bargainer Statues are fun lore additions which I appreciate. I keep calling them Poe Collectors, though.
I really liked the Temple of Time in the sky is actually a temple that keeps track of time, like a big clock that tells everyone when to wake and when to sleep. It makes sense, honestly. Like yeah, a Temple of Time would do that.
The Japanese/Mayan? blend of the Zonai makes for a very interesting, unique culture for this new race. It’s striking and distinct. I prefer it over the Sheikah tech.
While I think the dungeon itself was very weak, the Wind Temple concept is amazing. The idea of an ark in the sky is very reminiscent of ancient Japanese lore, and reminds me of Okami’s ark in the end-game. The lead-up was also pretty great overall. The final leap into the air is something I will remember for a long time.
The beginning of the Thunder Temple is also so good. The atmosphere! The descent into a dank dungeon! I wish it was a better dungeon, but to me, it was the best dungeon in the game.
Tauro (I think that his name?) is very endearing. I can’t explain it. I think his goofy design and child-like joy over his research just puts a smile on my face. He just seems so genuine.
I really liked the regional phenomenon for the Gorons and the Zora. For one, they are both unique ideas to the series. The Zora usually face freezing as their threat, but sludge is a new idea and it works really well. As for the Gorons, it was genuinely off putting and I liked that.
You all are too hard on Sidon’s ability. It’s great! Boosts Zora weapons on the fly, gives you a water attack AND a temp shield? It’s more technical than Tulin’s, sure, but once you learn all the little secrets, Sidon’s ability goes really far.
I gotta say, I like Link’s design. I still prefer my green-cladded, left-handed Peter Pan Link, but they truly found a great design for this Link too. It’s distinct, cool, and flexible with other looks.
The story had some really great ideas in it. I always enjoy seeing eras without a hero. There is potential in those stories. The imagery of Link trying to catch Zelda at the start, and him finally catching her in the end, was great. Ganondorf already knowing them before the start of the adventure gets your heart pumping. Like man, what an entrance for the main bad guy.
Master Kohga remains the best character in these games. I didn’t love him in BotW, but AoC changed my mind, and Totk cemented it. In fact, I love the glow-up the Yiga Clan gets overall. They are funny and interesting. I kinda wish they did just a little more with them, because each interaction was an enjoyable one in this game.

Sky or Wild for the character ask?
Hi Sister! Thank you for the ask! Picked Wild because I was playing BOTW last night xD
First impression: BOTW is my favourite game ever and how I discovered LU, so Wild was initially the character I was here for. I loved and still love his blend of adventurous, adaptable, and so much reckless energy, with loss, loneliness and angst, and his character design is just perfect.
Impression now: I still love Wild but he’s not my favourite character anymore. I find it much harder to write him now because I’m more aware of how nuanced he is as a character – ie, he’s not just me playing BOTW. I think the biggest shift is not seeing him as so secretive and slow to trust and introverted as I initially did – I think Wild likes people, he finds them interesting, he’d try to learn everything he could about them and make friends easily.
Favourite moment: the doodle Nightmares. IT’S SO SWEET HOW HE FALLS ASLEEP ON WOLFIE, there’s so much trust between them and I love that the Hero of the Wild’s strongest relationship is with a wolf.
Idea for a story: don’t have any strong/developed Wild-centric ideas currently but he’s an important character in a couple of WIPs focused on other Links. I really want to write more Sky and Wild content at some point and also something ANYTHING about koroks…
Unpopular opinion: can I skip this question I just end up overthinking it there are so many opinions about Wild in the fandom I don’t know what counts as popular/unpopular anymore? I guess just that while I love him and his character arc in Sunset has been awesome, I’d like to swing back and see what’s happening to some of the others by this point. Is this unpopular?
Favourite relationship: Used to be Twilight because they have such a perfect brother dynamic and I love it. But one of the fun things about Wild is that pairing him with anyone tends to reveal so much about both of them. I love his relationship with Hyrule which I already mentioned here, and also Sky. Mostly because I associate them both with defying gravity, and there’s all the first hero-last hero and Master Sword angst underlying everything…
Favourite headcanon: Wild has a mirror personality. He can adapt and channel the traits, habits, roles, personalities of others if that’s what the situation requires. I think he probably does this with Twilight and Sidon’s especially. It’s partly a kind of cultural flexibility developed during his adventures, related to picking up languages really fast.

Flying
“Link… I usually don’t question your decisions, but I am not sure if we should do this…”
Worriedly, Sidon looked down the Lanayru Tower. It was rather… high. Being an aquatic creature made him by nature water and land bound. While he had a rather adventurous side on him, climbing up tall buildings and structures usually wasn’t part of it. His webbed feet and hands simply weren’t meant for climbing. And yet, here he was. Looking down the tower, the ground being dozens of meters away.
It had been Link’s idea – he had said that he wanted to show his friend (were they really just friends?) one of his biggest joys in this life: flying.
Zora… Zora weren’t meant for the sky, though. (‘And neither are Hylians,’ Link had signed smugly.)
‘Don’t you trust me?’
Now, that was just not playing fair.
“Of course, I trust you! There is no one I trust more than you!” Sidon endorsed.
‘Then trust me on this, you’ll love it!’
Sidon didn’t look convinced.
It was during one of their long talks that Link had expressed this idea and it went somewhat like this:
~
‘Sidon, have you ever flown?’
“Well, since I am a Zora and not a Rito, I can’t say that I have!”
‘If you ever were able to… would you like to try it?’
“Of course, at the first chance I get!”
~
And that was how he now found himself standing way too high above the ground, an eager Hylian with a paraglider in front of him.
Sidon’s guts were coiling inside; maybe they tied a bow around one of his organs as if to be presented as a gift. Once his body hit the ground and cracked open to display his innards, maybe one of the local carnivores would take them as such.
‘Just grab the handle right next to my hands and hold tight. It is way easier than it looks!’
Sidon fidgeted in a very un-princely manner.
“Are you sure this thing can hold us both? I am way heavier than you are, dear friend.” He hated how the nervousness was palpable in his voice.
Link laughed. Despite all the hardship he had been through, endearing crinkles of laugh lines were forming around his eyes; they made the prince’s heart beat even harder than a few moments before.
Dear Hylia, he was royalty! If his most treasured friend (the Hero of Hyrule and the wielder of the Master Sword at that) said it was going to be alright, then it was going to be alright!
Biting his lower lip one more time, he squared his shoulders.
It would be alright.
“Alright, dear friend. Show me how it’s done.”
Link’s smile was almost blinding.
‘Alright, step behind me and grab the handle just as I said. Count to three and once you reach 'three' we jump off. ’
Link’s features softened around his smile.
‘Don’t worry, if this can take a Goron, it can definitely take us. Just trust me.’
Sidon nodded.
He positioned himself behind Link, feeling the other’s body heat warming his own chilled skin. Sidon couldn’t tell whether the height or the proximity to Link made his heart beat in a staccato rhythm.
“Alright… one… two…”
Sidon’s heart almost jumped into his throat.
“Three.”
Together they pushed off the railing and jumped towards the great depths beneath.
They only fell for the split of a second, but to Sidon it felt like a little eternity.
And then – once the air caught the paraglider’s wings - they were flying.
Sidon couldn’t believe it.
The cold wind blew over his face and finally, his heart didn’t feel like trying to break out of its boney cage.
The heat of Link’s body in front of him and the cold of the crispy air surrounding them made for a delicious mixture.
A laugh was ripped out of his chest; they were flying!
The birds curiously swarming them scattered away, frightened by the unfamiliar sound.
Sidon didn’t care.
He felt free. He felt like nothing could stop him, his dreams, his ambitions.
~
It was over way too soon.
Sidon was overwhelmed by all the feelings inside his body.
When Link turned around back on the ground, with an all-consuming grin painting his face, there was only one thing Sidon wanted to do.
He grabbed the Hero by the face and dragged him towards himself, letting their lips connect.

A reverse idea/thought on the baby Lynel scenario- a adult Lynel finds a baby/child hyliean and thinks “ this is my baby/cub now”.
A protective Lynel who gives approving, very proud chuffs and purrs when you do practically anything, such as bringing home your first hunt or making them a nice little flower crown.
You’re found in a swaddled blanket, wailing in fear while the cold wind begins to freeze your fragile body. Your cries sound like that of an easy meal at first, and the Lynel trots over ready for the kill, but stops.
You look abandoned, needing comfort and warmth. it takes a whiff, its big lion like nose nudging you gently to become familiar with your scent, and seeing as it wasn’t repulsive, it decides to place its weapon back in it’s sheath. Defenseless and in need of love, you are spared and swooped up in the beasts arms.
The Lynel is confused on how to care for you, but it does it’s best. Stealing milk from caravans and farmers it’s slayed, mashing up fruits and feeding them too you, knowing you’ve yet to grow your teeth. It feels a sense of pride knowing that soon your teeth will be that of a warrior, as they plan to make you big and strong like themselves.
Growing older doesn’t prevent them from being overprotective and territorial of you. They still nest with you, lay on top of you so you can be warm, nuzzle you to show affection almost aggressively when around other pack members who look at you like you don’t belong, and bares their teeth as the only warning to those who try to hurt you.
You learn to speak Hylian thanks to your secret adventures in the night to speak with the blonde haired hero and his Zora friend, so you try and explain to them how Lynel language works as to help prevent further fights. Your parent would likely kill Link and Sidon if they knew where you ran off too.
Even as you reach adulthood, the Lynel has a hard time letting you explore and wander. You’re of warrior blood, yes, as they’ve raised you to be, but what if you get hurt? Or you get sick? They become stressed and aggressive towards anyone or anything that isn’t you until they see you return.
Having a Lynel as your parent is odd, yes, but it’s not so bad! Right?

I rewatched Atlantis the Lost Empire (one of my favorite movies as a kid) the other night and now here’s the Breath of the Wild Atlantis AU no one asked for.
Here we go:
- A long time ago the Calamity happened and shit hit the fan. It ultimately gets sealed but the Sheikah settlement of Atlantis gets submerged and lost to time (side note this movie kills A LOT of people and is not subtle about it).
- Flash forward to our protagonist Link, who works at a museum in Castle Town. He’s obsessed with legends and myths of the Goddesses and heroes. Also his parents are dead because of course they are.
- He works as the museum’s cook during the day and security guard at night.
- One day he gets called to the Zora domain to meet with King Dorephan, a friend of his parents, who tells him he’s funding an expedition with the remaining Sheikah to find the lost Sheikah settlement of Atlantis that supposedly went missing after the Calamity many years ago.
- He reveals his parents found the Sheikah Slate, the map to find the lost settlement. Link can barely understand how to use it but yeah instead of the Shepard’s Journal we got the Sheikah Slate.
- The expedition crew is composed of the champions:
- Mipha is the team medic. Sidon’s there for moral support.
- Daruk is the bomb expert but he doesn't always remember that not everyone has a bomb shield at the ready
- Revali works communications. He’s also super uncomfortable with the submarine travel because birb but he (of course) puts on a confident front. (He get’s better in the underwater cave bit cause there’s room to fly)
- Urbosa is the captain. No question there.
- Robbie is the mechanic and Purah is the team scientist. Impa makes sure they don't accidentally kill everyone with their experiments.
- Link goes as the cook and as extra back up. And because Dorephan knows how much he loves adventure.
- Also the Yiga have infiltrated the expedition because they want to unseal the Calamity and eliminate the one who can seal it. No one knows this.
- Near the entrance the submarine gets attacked by rogue Divine Beast Vah Ruta. They manage to get into the cave and no one dies (seriously the Atlantis movie has an INSANE death count)
- THE EXPEDITION CONTINUES. Shenanigans ensue. More rogue Divine Beast attacks.
- Link somehow gets separated from the group and meets the lost princess Sheikah Zelda (can y’all tell I’m a sucker for warrior Zelda)
- Zelda leads everyone to the lost Sheikah settlement.
- Zelda wants to research all the busted tech but her dad is not into it and discourages the research (she doesn’t care and does it anyways).
- Link shows Zelda the Slate and they go around and try to piece together how to get the tech to work again (with mixed results)
- Zelda also shows Link all the cool places and wildlife she loves to study and Link tells her all about the surface. They grow closer and then they realize the feelings hit and they just awkwardly flirt while everyone rolls their eyes in the background.
- The Swimming Scene: Link tries (and fails) to be confident and is like “I was raised with the Zora I can definitely swim” and Zelda’s just like “uh okay :) let’s go”
- Yiga reveal.
- They take Link and Zelda to the Sacred Spring underneath the city. Zelda gets taken by the Goddess. They attempt to take her to where the Calamity is sealed so Zelda (and the Goddess) can be destroyed forever.
- Link’s like f*ck that shit and rallies the crew to rescue her (also the Champions aren’t out to get rich like in the movie as soon as they wise up to the Yiga they are on board for the rescue).
- The Yiga are defeated but then the Calamity awakens anyway.
- Zelda fuckin obliterates it with her powers.
- Zelda returns to everyone. Cue heartfelt reunion with Link.
- Zelda becomes Queen and works with Link to continue to help her people and recover the lost technology.
Enjoy the brain rot.

Legend of Zelda Boys | All
Alright, favorite game of everyone:
Haru: Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, there’s just a lot of water, he’s also the weird kid that really likes the water temples in Zelda games.
Rin: Majora’s Mask, the stories of mourning helped him a lot when he was in his own duel.
Makoto: I want to say Ocarina, but a lot of shit could scare him (looking at you Shadow Temple), so maybe Minish Cap and Four Sword Adventures
Sousuke: A Link to the Past HE’S A MAN OF CULTURE, OKAY?! And he probably likes the Oracle games too.
Nagisa: Link’s Awakening (Rin cries at the ending)
Rei: Twilight Princess IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL
Asahi: I see him getting fired up with the previous roasters of Hyrule Warriors.
Ikuya: Skyward Sword because the love story is adorable.
Hiyori: probably just does some minigames like Tingle’s games.
Momo: He gives me Link Between World Vibes to brag that the saved 2 worlds but wouldn’t actually do the Oracle games.
Nitori: Fucking Triforce Heroes, everyone is just what?!? I feel like someone showed them to him as a joke, but he really liked it.
Kisumi: Skyward Sword because he think it's the funniest.
Natsuya: Twilight Princess because he thinks it's the scariest and he likes the thrill.
Nao: Minish Cap, it's challenging and fun but lighthearted.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Okay, ever since the first Breath of the Wild trailer dropped, the squad is hyped, just AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! They all waited for it to come out and they adored it.
Everyone can agree that Breath of the Wild is cool as fuck.
They made a race to finish it's main story and then to get all the shrines and stuff.
Everyone teasing Rin because he looks a lot like Sidon UwU
Makoto loves the side quests because the town is happier.
Haru is mad because their is no underwater gaming.
They cry at the dead champions.
They argue about the ending because they wanted a happier ending like in Minish Cap or Ocarina of Time where everything is fixed at the end.
Haru probably had a crush on Mipha/Sidon (whatever suits your view of him, could be both for all I care), like FISH WAIFU?! Yes.
Rin and Makoto have a fucking crush on Urbosa, fite me. Giant powerful god tier woman got them doing oogly eyes.
Rei and Nagisa fighting over Zelink or Miphlink, Rei, sorry we all love Mipha but Zelink for the win.
All trailers since make them lose their minds. The DLC, Age of Calamity and the so awaited sequel. Specially the sequel.
Hyrule Warrios: Age of Calamity
Everyone is excited to see the original invasion but also afraid to see the champions die.
Nagisa is the kind of person who calls Revali “Ravioli.”
They all agree Daruk is best boy and Mipha is baby.
They buy the game and they’re already screaming on the intro.
They’re all taking turns in pairs, either at the chance of the level or at a death.
Alright, your character roaster
Link: everyone, everyone is good with Link
Impa: Nitori is actually very good with her, and they have the same personality.
Zelda: Rei and Nao.
Mipha: Haru, he called dibs, so what you gonna do.
Daruk: Makoto, because big and kind? Of course he likes the Goron. Sousuke is A+ too, absolute tank.
Revali: Rei, Rin and Asahi
Urbosa: Nagisa
Hestu: Momo and Hiyori
Sidon: Haru and Rin fight over him.
Yunobo: Momo and Ikuya
Teba: Natsuya, also everyone finds hilarious how he gets upset about Revali.
Riju: Makoto really likes her because she brought a pet, but Nao uses her best.
Master Kohga: Probably Nagisa as a joke. It also turns big like in the DLC.
King Rhoam: Nitori, I feel like he wants to carry a big sword 7w7.
Great Fairies: Nagisa because he think it’s hilarious, everyone is crying tears of laughter every time they are on screen.
Monk Maz Koshia: Everyone kind of avoids him because they’re not over the DLC, but Seijuro plays it because he loves scarring everyone.
Terrak: Nitori and Makoto
Calamity Ganon: Makoto terrifies everyone by being fucking OP player with the main villain like WHAT?!
They all love Mipha and Daruk, they’re babies.
Ravioli causes mixed opinions but there’s a lot of laughter.
Urbosa has all the room blushing because she’s so cool and pretty.
Hetsu is a silly character they all like
Makoto fired up to help him, “YEAH, I’LL HELP YOU!”.
Encore of confused screaming over the wizard guy like at the trailers.
EXCITED SCREAMING WHEN LINK UNLEASHES THE MASTER SWORD
Battling in the Divine Beasts makes everyone lose their mind
THEY ALL JUST SCREECH
Learning they already knew when Ganon was arriving got them all screaming.
When the Champions are about to die there’s chaos, Rin is crying a river. Everyone is hysterical wanting to know if they can still do something.
Rei and Haru remind them all that they knew it was coming.
OOOH OHOHOHO BUT when you get to have the time crossover to save the champions everyone goes mad.
There’s LOUD screaming everywhere.
There’s a lot of tears of joy.
A lot of question of the timeline’s fate but who the fuck cares we’re saving the babies.
Sidon and Mipha reunited makes everyone emotional 🥺.
He’s so happy to see her… 💖.
There’s an actual group hug when they manage to save the four Champions, tears, and everything. Absolute love.
Rei actually very confused about the timeline split this could cause but…
Shut up Rei they’re all safe, and he doesn’t argue because he actually got too emotionally invested with the character.
Everyone laughing at Teba’s disappointment with Revali’s personality.
The Blood Mood at the final battle has everyone screaming.
They replay the final battles a million times before going to the next one so everyone gets a turn because it’s fucking epic!
As soon as they win, they just fall down almost fainting.
It’s a pure ecstasy trip.
F in the chat for Terrak, they’re all sad, a lot of tears.
DID THEY KILL ZELDA’S PET?!?
“ZELDA KICK THEIR ASSES! AVENGE TERRAK!”
They all go insane with the Calamity Ganon redesign
“WAIT BUT THEN WHAT ARE WE BATTLING IN BREATH OF THE WILD THEN?!”
“DID LINK JUST PARRY A FUCKING BUILDING?!”
“TERRAK IS ALIVE!!!” Everyone is ecstatic until they realize where that scene is going…
Sousuke, Nao and Haru have to console everyone because they’re all crying.
Not even Makoto could help himself.
AVENGE TERRAK encore
Saying goodbye to the future champions is kinda bittersweet.
Sidon: *gets teary*
Everyone: “look, that’s Rin”
Rin’s too busy crying to argue.
But now they’re all alive, this is canon fuck you BOTW
Breath of the Wild's Sequel Trailer
undefined
youtube
Ever since the first trailer NINTENDO GIVE US THE SEQUEL ALREADY, ALL THE NEW MECHANISH
GANONDORF?!?!?
Ikuya and Kisumi losing their mind because SKYLOFT?!?!?
While everyone is losing their minds over the new mechanics (like Rin with the flamethrower) Haru is praying for underwater gameplay.
Makoto and Nitori probably got scared half of the trailers but are also very excited. Still hug them.
My boys are in tears. All of them.
And just like their last movie, it'll all go down in 2022 😭

I wanna know about the other heroes (besides Wars and Legend) in this au. You got any headcanons for them?
You didn't mention anyone specifically so I'm just gonna talk about some of our OCs (and mention Hyrule) >:3
Odyssey!! I haven't said a damn thing about him, so now's as good a time as any!!!! He's from the era after Wild, about 250 years after Wild's adventure(s) and... Sidon is still around??? Fish man old as hell now. Odyssey is dating both his era's Zelda (Legacy) and Ganondorf (Hope). Gods like their era started out as an original project for a dnd style Zelda game (narrative only lol I'm not making a whole game OR campaign) but yeah he adventured with Legacy and Hope the whole quest!! It took a long ass time and spanned the entire continent of Hyrule and BEYOND, hence why he's the hero of odysseys. He was my first actual loz OC lol I love him. Spunky lil bastard. Very capable, doesn't look bookish but his hyperfixation as a kid was heroing so he researched a lot and taught himself survival, swordsmanship, archery, etc. He and his partners fought Demise and beat the shit outta him.
Fae, my beloved! She's non binary, sapphic as hell, probably has a crush on her Zelda, and Cinder is her... not-legally-adopted-but-might-as-well-be brother. Fae is my baby, Cinder is Mizu's, so she'd be the authority on him but lemme tell u a little about my favorite nb lady. She's a witch! She learned a shitton about magic on her quest so she's a green witch now that lives in a cottage in the woods... well she has to take care of her big brother now so she and Cinder travel. She's from somewhere between TP and BotW because you know how great fairies are only in the cave of ordeals in TP? Yeah there was something keeping them there! She had to go into the fae realm and break the curse(??) on the fairies and magically unclog the places where fairy fountains transition from growing in the fae realm to growing in Hyrule proper. So that's why there are great fairies in BotW! Lol they all know her when the chain visits Wild's era. She's amab so she was once named Link, did the whole hero thing, didn't like it. She held herself too much to what she thought a hero was supposed to be and not what actually made her a hero. She carries a sword but prefers combat magic. Frequently feels like she's the only one with some actual goddamn sense in the chain (what a bunch of b o y s ugh). BEST friends with Hyrule. Enby solidarity.... even tho she gave Hyrule gender envy, oops. She makes her own hrt potions!! (then immediately teaches Rule how to make their own when they express interest lol)
Questions about Cinder should be thrown at @mizuriii at mach speed but I will say a lil thing. He's from Termina.... before Time's quest. Aaaand he also fought Majora. And had the FD mask (see forehead marks). He.... didn't do too well on his quest and he's not very confident in himself/his abilities. He doesn't feel like a hero even tho Fae assures him he is one. Hims a sweet baby. The other members of the chain.... intimidate him, to put it lightly....
Ty for asking!! This got long so I think I'll stop it here
