#She's definitely mature and knows how to be an adult but lacks a lot of understanding and lessons most people would've grown up with?

Though Sera does her best to show maturity and strength to those she meets, there’s no denying this is born from being forced to grow up far too quickly and early for her own good, and as a result she hides anything that could be deemed ‘childish’ from anyone she doesn’t trust with her very life. Acting like a kid, being bouncy and easily excited, showing how deep her lack of understanding or the world and social situations truly goes, experiencing the childhood she was forced to skip out on... These are all hidden by choice, fearing being a burden or pushing people away. The more freely Sera acts and the more childish and silly she can be, the more she trusts the person she’s with, making for a good indicator of her her comfort and someone’s closeness with her.
Even so, there are certain things that are less hidden and far more easily noticed; light up sneakers, for one, are something she wears off and on while living in Midgar, and it’s incredibly difficult for her to pass by a playground without at least sitting on a swing for a little bit. She’s easily distracted by things that sparkle, and above all else, is incredibly partial to plush toys - Enough so that those who visit the Fair Household, be it in Gongaga or Midgar, are likely to find one of her prized possessions somewhere within the house: A stuffed husky.
About the size of a standard teddy bear, the dog, named Zax by Sera herself, has been both clearly taken care of, but also shows signs of being very much loved; its stitching has been clearly repaired in several places along its seams, and the stuffing is thinner and readjusted around its middle from being hugged countless times since being obtained. Its limbs also move a bit easier and are more akin to being ‘floppy’ compared to one fresh off the store shelf, a result of being carried around by the paw, and the tail has begun to droop despite multiple attempts to re-stuff it by friends.
Though she never takes Zax out of the house in a fear of losing him, Sera is convinced he’s made of magic, and uses the toy as something of a means of keeping herself grounded. A part of her considers his magic connected to Zack, carrying with him the ability to share her emotions and feelings to the other man, but even past that Zax is special - He’s soft and something to fidget with, distract herself by petting him, a toy to hug tight, a sounding board when she’s scared and feels the need to babble... He’s the first toy she’s actually had for herself and her first possession in Midgar, and carries with him a great deal of meaning that resulted in him being one of the items she couldn’t leave Midgar without on her quick dash away from the city.
Even as an adult in Gongaga, Zax continues to serve the same purpose and routinely shifts around the house as needed, helping her to deal with stresses and loneliness she can’t deal with on her own. She’s afraid of showing off her less awkward side to those she doesn’t trust and doesn’t know how they’d react, and understands there’s a time and place for it, but Zax is something she will always happily admit to - And tell you his name and where he came from with a bright smile!

#Colors Of Sakura [Headcanons]#Sera never had a childhood?#Not a typical one anyway - She spent most of it kept to one room with a hand-me-down teddy bear of Ami's and her siblings#And then had to grow up by the time she was 9 and deal with things nobody ever should#She's definitely mature and knows how to be an adult but lacks a lot of understanding and lessons most people would've grown up with?#And thereis definitely still a kid in there that wants to experience being a kid - Which is where this HC comes in#Sera when she's comfortable can be silly and teasing and gonna ask if you'll go to a playground with her?#It takes time to get her to be that loose and comfortable with herself for a lot of reasons but#If you get her like that you know you're really close to her and she considers you a really tight friend#If not part of the family#Zax is an outlier; if you're in the house you're already probably a good friend to start with#And she won't ever hide Zax <3#He was a gift from (my) Kunsel and has been her (stuffed) support dog since - Since she can't have a real doggo#And just looking at him you can tell he's been loved and cared for <3#If Zack isn't home she'll sleep with Zax - If Zack IS home he sits on the nightstand#The more lonely and bothered and unsettled she is the more she relies on Zax to keep her grounded?#He's a special doggo <3#Trauma countering doggo <3#...Also yes I literally googled 'stuffed husky' for that picture#I can't draw doggos - Let alone stuffed ones XD#But that's pretty much Zax <3

I'm back with a part 4 if you want to do it it's kind of more of a crack write I just need Klarion trying to explain the family tree
But not explaining how he was made at all So Young Justice and the Justice League are now convinced that a the Ghost King was a teenage parent who is now 27 years old and just passed college with a degree in astronomy and machinery
Klarion's other parent is a a crazy fruit loop 64 year old millionaire who went to college with Klarion's Mom parents who had an emotionally unhealthy obsession with his mom's mother and then it passed on to his mom.
And he has an older sister who is technicality a clone of his mom but also has the bastards DNA so fundamentally making Ellie Vlad Master and Mom's first born kid but there's six other siblings that Klarion had that died back a while back but Mom got granddad who's apparently the time lord AKA Cronos which is a whole another long story to go back in time and save those kids get them fixed up and now Klarion technicality has seven older siblings which all do their own things
And then he starts mentioning his uncle who is a 9 ft yeti his technicality auntie who is a medieval ghost princess who can turn into a dragon his auntie Pandora and his his grandfather cronos
My names for the six other clone children are Donald (he/him), Cecelia (they/she), Bartholomew(Them/They), Kyle AKA Bite(He/It), Brutus(He/They), and then there's Danna (She/Her) who actually really like the name Dan and asked Klarion if could have it when Klarion changed his name
Sorry if this is a little bit too much I've just really been thinking about au for this after the last part you made I hope this helps you with your writing or at least makes you laugh but I really love the idea of Danny's AKA somewhat clone children and finding their own personalities and and fighting themselves out of just being failed clone of their mom also I love the idea of Danny going back in time to save the rest of the clone kids cuz now he's a mature adult who wants to save their lives and wants them to grow into their own people.
(≧▽≦)
I probably did way to much research into all the fandoms I am in to see what I could tie into this... And yet this feels shorter than it should but I also currently lack the time to add more. But for now I hope this will be satisfactorily.
Also this family tree idea especially the part of saving the melted clones. LOVE IT!
So even though it took me a while! here is Part 4 you inspired! Thanks so much for the ask!
------------------
"Dude, you are making us only curious!" Impulse spoke up as he sat down next to Klarion who had his head in his hands. "Like you and your mom can't just drop your family lore like that!"
The witch boy on the other hand looked up with narrowed eyes at the speedster. "What lore?"
"Let's see, the part that apparently a Vlad tried to kill your Grandpa to make friends several time. That your mom is 'ghost' adopted by the lord of time Cronos and Pandora, which makes us family too by the way, and that you have a sister that apparently is even crazier than what we got to know of your family so far." Wonder Girl counted off her fingers next to him grinning as she mentioned the part of probably being a part of his 'crazy' family too. Which hell yea, that sounded like a lot of fun to be explored she would have to talk with Wonder Woman about that as soon as possible.
"Also..." Red Robin added as he flipped through the photo album that apparently no one remembered he had. He was turning it around and pointed at a particular photo with a wild bunch of people in it that varied between more human and well... less humanoid people. One of them definitely was a Yeti and there was also what looked like living armor as well as Teekly (they knew that demon cat at least), a giant green dog and for some reasons there was a green aggressive looking Octopus in the background too. "...how are you related to a Yeti?"
"Hey that man there and those other teens in the picture actually have some resembles with you! Do you have older brothers too?" Superboy additionally asked as he moved around Red Robin to see the photo better pointing at a man that appeared to be in this late twenties, blue eyed, black haired and a little on the buffer side. If he didn't know any better and the fact that he should keep his mouth shut about their actual identities he would have jokingly asked Red Robin if his family would like to add more kids considering Klarions family apparently had a bunch of black haired blue eyed members too, judging by the photo at least.
"What are you talking about. That man is my mom and yes the others are actually my older brothers and that Yeti is uncle Frostbite who also happens to be the best medic in the Infinite Realms" The four teen heroes looked stunned at the picture and then back at the Ghost King that was smiling at them, still seated by the dinner table with their mentors. Who by the way were now perking up at the change of topic and the information they could gain with it, well Wonder Woman was more interested in the apparently extended family she had.
"Oh I remember we took this photo last year, it was such a hassle to get everyone into one place with them all being busy doing their own things." Danny mused for a moment, remembering fondly how he had to literally drag some of the kids home through a portal.
"It was more annoying than anything too since I was declared to be the youngest...." Klarion muttered also remembering that day not as fondly as his mother.
"Wait, wait, wait! That is a picture of your family? I need an explanation buddy!" Impulse cut in without shame, quickly removing the picture from the photo album to get a better look at it before holding it out to Klarion so he could explain all the individuals. "Plus why does your mom look soooo.... human?"
The witch boy on the other hand stared at him for a couple of seconds before looking over towards his mother as if waiting for something. After a moment the teen heroes as well as their mentors saw Danny nod with a little smile. "This dimension doesn't have the GIW so its fine, the Justice League Dark won't be a problem either, right?." Constantine flinched at the smile the Ghost King was giving him, muttering something under his breath as he had hoped his presence had been forgotten.
"Since mom is giving his okay...." Klarion mutter sitting crosslegged on the ground as he snatched the photo album from Red Robin and flipped through it. "Lets start with the easiest stuff to explain."
Danny chuckled noticing that not only the teen heroes but their mentors as well showed an interest. He choose to stay quiet letting the adults listen in on the kids, and if things went bad he would just ask Clockwork if they could revert time back to this moment and he would change his nod of permission to a shake of denial.
"Okay first of, this is my mom and his sister Jasmine, this is Danielle my older sister and that hulk with flaming white hair and blueish skin is me. That was before I got deaged because of destabilising." Klarion explained flipping to a photo of him, Danny, Jazz and Danielle. "Mom was around fifteen, Aunt Jazz about seventeen and Ellie should have been about a year old but she was aged up to twelve. They look human in this one because well they are. Mom was originally human and became what you call in this dimension a Meta through an accident."
"Wait... that would mean your mom... How could he have two kids at that age of fourteen? You look like an adult and your sister was aged up?" Wonder Girl couldn't help but ask as she looked from the photo and back to Danny at the dinner table again.
"That's cause Vlad was a fu-"
"Language Klarion!"
"Vlad was a fruitloop. That photo was taken shortly after Vlad and I sort of redeemed our selfs. Plus, mom didn't really have my sister and me willingly.... we were kind of forced upon him in a way." Klarion explained shrugging. "Old Man Vlad had an obsession with his mom that then turned on mom, which resulted in my oldest sister Danielle first. Actually, a lot of my elder siblings resulted from that, but they didn't survive it the first time, Mom got Old Man Clocks help to save them once he got used to being the Ghost King. I got added to the mix shortly after my sister, but... i wasn't in the best state of mind at first, kind of went through a redemption phase in which mom had to fix the timeline of our original home dimension, too."
Danny chuckled again at the disturbed looks the teens were giving his son as well as the looks their mentors sent him. He probably should correct Klarion's wording... but being one of the gremlins of his family he just smiled on, not commenting. He really understands now why Pops Clockwork liked watching the chaos he used to cause as teen, and still sometimes causes as adult.
"Klarion... how old is this Old Man Vlad?" Red Robin asked grimacing as his eyes under the mask flicked up to the Ghost King and then back to the witch boy both seemingly unbothered by the disturbing information they were sharing.
"In human years... probably around 67? You stop counting age at some point if your a halfa." Klarion shrugged, not noticing the grimaces of the teens around him. "Anyway, Ellie is sort of the first born. I came in after that, with my core being a mix of Mom and Vlad. Not DNA wise though since I came to be because of their ghost cores. That's why I look like that in this photo. Though human DNA wise I am probably now mostly Moms, we never bothered to ask the old man."
Danny muffled another chuckle, coughing as Superman sent him an incredulous look of shook while he felt Batmans burning gaze on him.
"You... mentioned more siblings?" Red Robin asked carefully sharing a look with his team, feeling like there was a whole lot of trauma in Klarions family he wasn't sure they should address or not. So asking after his siblings was probably, hopefully the safest option. They didn't know that while there was trauma in the witch boy's family it was not the kind they were imagining.
"Yea I got a bunch more brothers, Vlad was a evil crazy fuitloop, before he redeemed himself. They all kind of melted in one timeline but mom and Grandpa Clock found a way to save them." Klarion nodded flipping to another photo containing him, as he looked now, and all his siblings.
"So, Ellie you know about already. The one with the sunglasses and died hair is Bartholomew, second oldest. They made themselves a home in other dimension, barely at home cause he has to much fun messing with something called a 'Starstream' by being a 'Constellation' and throwing gold coins at 'Incarnations'. Don't ask me what that means, I barely pay attention when he gushes about his favorit 'Incarnation'. They spent like all their money and pocket money there. Aunt Jazz thinks he might develop a gambling addiction if we don't stop his spendings." The teen heroes eyed the teen that looked like a young adult grinning in the photo as the witch boy pointed at the one next to them. "The one with the vile is my elder brother Bite, most responsible one of this bunch. Mom even allowed him to take care of a couple of dimensions by taking the role of being their God of Death. I think he messed them up more than helped but he is doing a somewhat good job, even if he is sort of obsessed with making some red head his saint or something..."
"One of your sibs is a God?" Impulse gabbed and Klarion just blinked at him with a shrug. "My Grandfather is the ruler of Time, your point is? Wonder Girl is also related to a God of your dimension."
"Never mind him, moving on." A yelp resounded as Superboy pushed Impulse head down leaning in more to see the photo better. "You got one emo looking brother there!"
"Oh that's Yamikumo, he is like a year or two older than me right now, in human years. He barely got any of mom's powers so he choose to try to life a somewhat normal life but weirdly enough he choose a dimension that is ruled by people who have powers and abilities, you know like the Meta Humans of this dimension. Now that I think about it, he is also the only one who actually is studying on how to be a Hero."
"Do you end up fighting with him if he studies to be a hero?" Wonder Girl whisper asked him with a quick glance towards their mentors, to which Klarion shook his head. "As long as we leave the dimensions one of us choose to live in alone we usually don't fight about stuff like that, aside from the usual sibling fights that is. Then again I do have some siblings that like to make bets like who is better at ruling as demon lord, or who can safe a dying timeline quicker."
Danny chuckled again as he watched the kids, Klarion had definitely caused some misunderstandings with his wording. Then again it wasn't like Klarion said anything that wasn't true, but then again his son loved chaos. So there was a suspicion that Klarion intentionally choose the way he worded the explanation about how he and Ellie came to be as well as the rest of siblings.
"So....." Superman slowly started wondering how he should bring up the topic. "...you became a mom at 14?"
"Say Danny is there a way for me to meet this Vlad? You know since we are family." Wonder Woman also asked smiling in a certain way that reminded Danny of Valerie when she was mad but didn't want to show right away how mad she was, to which the Ghost King on reflex could do nothing but gulp for a moment. Not noticing that a green post it note appeared on the table before him.

Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Word Count: 3.6k
Notes: Set right after Endgame, has aspects of Wandavision, sort of domestic, A lot of comfort from Wanda, I think it's a lil sweet
Summary: Y/n was the youngest member of the Avengers before the blip, she had to do a lot of growing in those 5 years. Through that experience she learned that no one deserves to be alone during hard times, which is why she offers to house Wanda.
An: 2 post... look at me go
Masterlist
Tumblr media
It was impossible for Y/n not to fall for Wanda. It was never the girl's intention. In fact, it never crossed her mind, that was until the pair were reunited after Thanos was defeated.
Y/n was a young adult when the blip happened. A member of the Avengers, the youngest official member (sorry Peter). She was in her early twenties, to the team she was just a kid.
Before the blip, she had resented them for that rhetoric, but when half her team was wiped from existence, she felt so small. She felt like a child thrown into the deep end of a pool.
The reality of her situation forced her to grow up. The next 5 years were hard for her. She found herself isolated from the former members of the team. Mostly because Y/n did not give up being a hero.
Partially because it was the only thing she knew how to do. The other part of it was tied to the fact that the world needed heroes, more now than ever.
When Scott Lang came about and somehow was able to convince the team to get back together. It was interesting, they had all changed a lot. However, Y/n had definitely changed the most.
The experience that she had previously lacked was now present. She no longer had any question about her skill or ability. Y/n had a level of maturity that they would have never guessed lived inside of her.
Y/n was a key piece in bringing everyone back. The victory was more bitter than sweet. The losses that were suffered were tremendous.
Everyone had lost a lot, but amongst those who lost the most, Wanda's name popped into Y/n's mind.
Y/n hadn't got the chance to talk to her until Tony's funeral. Y/n stood between Wanda and Clint.
Throughout the whole thing she had stood strong with her head up; When her friends first disappeared, when she lost Nat, and when she lost Tony, but here at the funeral she felt like a child once again.
Y/n's fists were balled at her sides, and she chewed viciously on her bottom lip in hopes of not sobbing.
" You ok?" Wanda spares the girl a glance.
She doesn't speak, instead she closes her eyes and nods.
Wanda doesn't take her answer at face value, yet, she doesn't verbally challenge Y/n. Instead, she forces her hand into Y/n's balled up fists. The redhead interlocks their fingers and gently rubs Y/n's hand. The feeling makes the sob escape the girl's lips.
" Fuck, I'm sorry. I'm alright, it's just-"
Wanda shakes her head," You don't have to do that with me."
" Do what?"
Wanda turns her full attention towards Y/n," I know things haven't been easy the last 5 years, especially for you. You had to grow up before you were ready to. You've done an amazing job. But when you're with me, you don't have to be that invincible hero, you can just be Y/n."
Y/n had tears streaming down her face before Wanda finished speaking. She let her body shake as she began to let go of everything that happened to her. Wanda pulled her away to a more secluded area. She held the girl as she cried like a baby.
Y/n was taller than Wanda, so she stood awkwardly, burying her head in the red head's shoulder. Wanda's hand gently stroked the back of the girl's head.
She could sense that Y/n had been through a lot, but she wanted to know. Wanda knew pain, she was feeling it too, but the way Y/n cried made her put her hurt aside for a moment.
" I want to know what happened to you," Wanda whispers as she holds Y/n.
The hero nods against Wanda's shoulder, seemingly knowing what she's asking. When Wanda takes a peek into Y/n's mind, she feels everything the girl felt for the last 5 years.
The guilt, the uncertainty, the loneliness, the pressure, the sadness, and the pain. She felt it all, and it was astounding to her. Y/n had such a deep connection with her own feelings, it felt like the girl could drown in them.
" I've got you," she holds the girl a little tighter after digging through her memories.
Once Y/n doesn't feel like she can cry anymore, she stands up straight, and viciously wipes at her tears.
" What are- where are you going after this?"
" I'm not really sure, but-"
Y/n cuts her off," Come stay with me."
Wanda let out a sigh, "But I want to see Vision, is what I was saying."
Y/n nods," I think I can help with that."
Once the funeral was over, Y/n wasted no time driving Wanda to S.W.O.R.D headquarters. The hero was quite certain the man's body was in that building.
Wanda was anxious, it was easy to tell. Y/n understood to some extent for those who were blipped it was almost like no time passed. So to a certain extent, the last thing Wanda felt before her return was the heartbreaking loss of her other half.
When the pair arrived, Wanda basically charged in the building. She walked up to the front desk and demanded to see Vision. The man at the desk repeated something about her not having clearance, just a bunch of bullshit really.
" If you don't let her see him, I will start calling in favors from Pepper. Which is my way of saying I will forcibly make you return him, as he is technically an intellectual property that is patented by Tony Stark."
Before he could respond, his radio went off. The security looked uncertain, but gave them directions, and told them to go through the door.
Wanda didn't waste any time opening the sliding door with her powers and strutting down the hall. Y/n trailed behind her, not wishing to get in her way.
Wanda was annoyed to open the door and find the director of S.W.O.R.D, rather than Vision. He was talking, mostly to her, but she was hardly listening.
That was until he pulled back the curtain in the room. Y/n knew what it was as soon as she laid eyes on it. Her eyes widened in horror.
The horror was soon turned to anger, as he then accused Wanda of trying to bring Vision back to life.
" What the fuck is your problem?" Y/n could help herself.
" Hey, I'm just covering my bases here. It's my job and unfortunately, I cannot allow you to take $3 billion worth of vibranium just to put it in the ground. So the best I can do is to let you say goodbye to him here."
Y/n sees the sadness and desperation permeating off of Wanda, as her finger touch the glass that separate her from the parts of Vision," He's all I have."
" That's just it, Wanda. He isn't yours."
Y/n couldn't believe he would say something like that. It was taking everything in her power not to snatch him up and threaten him.
Wanda broke the glass and chaos ensued. The director stayed up in the office while Y/n jumped down to be next to Wanda. Her eyes moved around to the men with guns pointed solely on the red head.
" Tell them to put the guns down," Y/n made no room for bargaining in her tone.
The director complied, and the men lowered their weapons as Wanda approached Vision.
Her hand stretched out over his head. The sight broke Y/n's heart, but what completely shattered it was what Wanda said," I can't feel you."
Wanda walked away calmly after that. Y/n followed behind her. They left the building in silence.
Y/n got in the driver's seat with a heavy sigh. She wanted to find something to say to the redhead, but she knew didn't have the right words. No matter what said Vision wasn't coming back and Wanda wouldn't be hurting any less.
The woman in the passenger seat looked empty. The only thing Y/n could think to do was offer the woman her hand to hold.
Y/n kept her eyes on the road as Wanda stared at her hand. Eventually, Wanda's hand gently intertwined with Y/n's. The driver gave the hand a light squeeze as she took off in the direction of her home.
The drive was long and silent. Y/n didn't mind, she was drained not only from the day, but from the last 5 years of her life. It finally felt like that chapter had come to an end.
The ending wasn't perfect, it wasn't even necessarily happy, it was just over. Now she would have to somehow continue to move forward without really knowing what that means or what it looks like.
When the pair finally arrived at Y/n's, the driver was exhausted. Are slowly climbed out of the car with Wanda trailing behind her.
" I'll give you a proper tour tomorrow, if that's alright. For now all you really need to know is that, that's the bathroom, that's my room, and yours is right across. I'll get you some towels and pj's right now."
She mumbled a quiet 'thank you' and Y/n left her standing in the living room. Wanda noted that Y/n's house had a comfortable aura around it. It felt lived in and cozy.
She had pictures littering the wall, most of them featured the Avengers. It's sweet, and for a moment it made the woman sad. To think that every day Y/n would come home and see the pictures of the people she loved. Half of them wiped from existence and the other half wanting nothing to do with her.
It had to be lonely for the young hero. When Y/n re-emerged from her room with the stuff, Wanda took it graciously.
" Well I'm probably just going to go to bed, but um help yourself to literally anything you want. And don't hesitate to come get me if you need me, ok?"
" Thank you, for everything Y/n," Wanda gave the woman a sad smile.
Y/n shook her head," It's nothing really."
Wanda wanted to argue, but she didn't have the energy. She let the young woman retire to her bedroom, opting to shower and go get some rest as well.
As time moved forward, Y/n found herself struggling. Now that the missing people had returned from the blip, she found it hard to find a place to fit in.
While there was a lack of heroes in the last 5 years, a good chunk had returned to hero work the moment they were brought back. Meaning that Y/n wasn't needed as much as she was before.
This coupled with the reality that most of the people she worked with had opted to retire from crime fighting or had tragically passed on. The reality of it all was hard for her.
It seemed like 5 years ago she had to rapidly adapt to a situation she wasn't ready for, and now 5 years later the same thing was happening again.
The only thing that was different was that this time she wasn't alone. Wanda was in her corner.
At first, Y/n hated relying on Wanda. The woman had been through enough. Y/n thought that unloading her baggage onto the woman was unfair. So she tried to pretend that she was fine, that none of this bothered her in the slightest.
However, it didn't really work. Wanda had told Y/n, on a number of occasions, that her thoughts were loud. This made Y/n try to clear them before she would come home, but then Wanda counter with her mind was empty.
" Just talk to me, Y/n."
Y/n shook her head," It's nothing."
Wanda sighed," It's not nothing if it's bothering you this much."
" You have enough to think about without me dumping all my emotions on you," Y/n raised her voice.
" I would have one less thing to worry about if you would just tell me how you're feeling, so I didn't have to keep guessing."
Y/n couldn't control her outburst," Fine. I don't understand why I can't find any work. I feel so underappreciated by my peers and the citizens. For 5 years, I was one of the few ones coming to the rescue for any of these people. I was a key part in bringing these people back to their families. I pushed aside my feelings and my pain to be a hero, and as soon as I've done all of the fixing it seems like they don't need me anymore. Like I was just a substitute. I gave up so much, and I'm still willing to give more, but now that there's no Iron Man, no Black Widow, no Captain America, and no Avengers, I'm just an afterthought. And-"
Y/n could've kept going if she didn't just break down sobbing. She could've gone on forever. Wanda was quick to wrap her arms around the girl.
" Why do I still feel like I'm not good enough?"
The woman had cried for what seemed like an eternity. Wanda held her, stroking her back soothingly. Trying to provide Y/n all the comfort she could give.
The woman ended up crying herself to sleep in Wanda's arms. Wanda wiped at Y/n's tear stained cheeks with the pads of her thumbs.
She ended up laying the girl down in the bed. She stared at her former teammate for a long while.
Y/n had given up so much of herself to the hero world. She deserved better than this.
" You are good enough, detka," is the last thing Wanda says before leaving the bedroom.
While the woman sleeps, Wanda makes dinner for the two of them. As she cooked, every thought that crossed her mind revolved around Y/n. She didn't know which course of action to take to help the girl. She had to do something to get the girl out of this hole.
When dinner was nearly finished, she went to try to wake the hero up. She was surprised to see Y/n awake with her legs dangling over the edge of the bed.
She almost looked the same as when Wanda first met her. Except now there was more definition to her muscles, a straighter posture to her back, and a somber presence surrounding her.
Wanda took a seat next to her," A lot of people have this perception that being a hero is the one of the greatest things anyone can be. But I've always viewed it as the greatest sacrifice. There's so much of yourself that can be lost while trying to save others, especially when you're working alone. There's this weight on your shoulders, it's like you're carrying the world-"
" But you feel like you're the only one who knows that," Y/n's head rested in her hands.
" Something that nobody tells you until it's too late, is that you don't have to do this. You can give it up whenever you want, there's no one forcing you to pursue this."
Y/n looked at Wanda with glossy eyes," What else would I do, Wanda? This life is all I've known. I've never wanted to be anything, but this. I still want this, I just-"
" Can't do it on your own."
" I don't think I can anymore," Y/n began to tear up once more.
Wanda moved closer to Y/n. " No more tears, detka," Wanda wiped at the fallen streaks.
" Because you don't have to do it alone ever again. You have me, and I'm not going anywhere, alright. I can make some calls, and maybe we can get a team together."
Y/n looked at Wanda in disbelief," You'd do that for me?"
" Why are you always so surprised that there's someone looking out for you?" It was meant to be a joke on Wanda's part, but Y/n didn't see it that way.
" Because for a long time there wasn't."
Wanda was familiar with the look in Y/n's eyes. She'd seen it before somewhere. The way Y/n looked at her made her heart rate increase.
" Well, now and for the foreseeable future, you'll always have someone in your corner."
For a moment, there's no sound. The two just stare at each other. They both seem acutely aware of how close they are. Wanda's hand is a centimeter away from resting on top of Y/n's.
Unbeknownst to either of them, they are leaning into each other. They get closer and closer, and when they are too close, the oven goes off.
They jump apart and Wanda's hand moves to her lap, before she stands entirely," That would be dinner."
Y/n nods rapidly," I'm going to change into something more comfortable, and I'll be there in a minute."
Wanda hurriedly exited the room. Her eyebrows furrowed as she registered the pit at the bottom of her stomach. It was too soon for this in her head. She still wasn't completely over losing the love of her life. Yet she had these complicated feelings surfacing for Y/n.
The girl who had saved her life. Who brought her into her home with no questions asked or any favors needed. The girl who had been the strongest member of The Avengers. The one who never gave up on her cause.
Wanda wasn't ready, but her feelings didn't seem to care about that.
Y/n was in her room with similar thoughts swarming in her head. She had finally figured it out once she got a good look at the former hero. Y/n was falling in love, and she hadn't even noticed. Wanda brought comfort to her in situations that she never knew warranted such care.
There was nothing she could do about it. Though she wanted to stop herself from having romantic feelings towards Wanda, she was already in too deep.
" Fuck," she muttered, as she finally got out the bed and made her way to the kitchen.
Dinner between the two was uncharacteristically silent. Once they were done, they parted ways.
Y/n couldn't go back to sleep after dinner. She blamed it on the nap, but that wasn't it. She was thinking about Wanda; about how close they were to kissing.
She wondered what it would've felt like. If Wanda's lips were as soft as they looked. If they tasted sweet like her chapstick. Would things have escalated if they did kiss? Did wanting to kiss Wanda make her a bad friend?
It was pointless to stay in bed. Y/n decided she was going back to the kitchen for a drink. However, as she opened her bedroom door, Wanda was standing outside of it.
She stared at Y/n, an uncertain twinkle in her eyes. A nervous jitter about her body.
" Your thoughts are loud tonight."
The color drains from Y/n's face almost instantly, and she wishes that she could close the door more now than ever.
" Oh," was all the hero could muster up. Her eyes were trained on the floor, scared to look at Wanda
" I am so scared that if I kiss you, the universal will rip you away from me."
That causes Y/n to meet the redhead's eyes," Wanda-"
" Y/n, the things that I love- the people that I love, all end up being taken away from me. And I don't know if I can handle that happening again."
Y/n searches for the right words, but she doesn't know if she has them," I'm scared too. I'm scared that if I kiss you, it won't mean anything. I'm scared that I can't heal your broken heart. I'm scared that I wouldn't ever be enough for you because I'm not him."
The tone is somber as they stare at each other. Both having this aching want for each other. Both of them, scared of falling into their desires.
" You aren't Vision." She took a small pause. " But I would never ask you to be him. Y/n, you've already helped me heal so much and you don't even know it. You are more than for me. In fact, I think it might even be too good for me. If we kissed, it would mean everything to me."
Y/n wanted to say something. She wanted to speak from the heart, but she was coming up empty. The only thing she could think to do was press her lips to Wanda's.
The redhead's arms locked around Y/n's neck. While the hero's hands rested lightly on the dips of Wanda's hips.
For Y/n it was like she was breathing for the first time; effortless. For Wanda, it was like being brought back to life.
Wanda's lips were soft, and they were sweet like her chapstick, just like Y/n thought they would be.
" I could do that forever," Y/n chuckles against Wanda's lips.
The red shoves the hero's shoulder lightly," You're cheesy."
" I think you meant to say charming."
Wanda pecks Y/n's lips again," No, I definitely meant cheesy."
Y/n squeezes Wanda's hips," Lay with me?"
" I'd love nothing more."
The future for the pair looked dark and uncertain at one point. They each had lost so much that they were scared to claim anything as special ever again. Ultimately, they had nothing to worry about. As they had each other as constant beacons of light in their futures.

Big fan of The Charon Situation being just so incurably screwed up. If ever there were a person equipped to have full control over an adult man’s free will, it’s definitely not the Lone Wanderer. Even the most educated, well-meaning, and genuinely righteous LW couldn’t handle the responsibility. She’s a teenager raised in an insular totalitarian ant farm who’s suddenly been thrust into a world with no authorities, no guidance.
Which creates a wonderful dynamic with Charon. If Ahzrukhal is to be believed, he was raised this way - he never had the chance to be an adult, taking risks, shouldering responsibility, gaining independence. His parents probably weren’t in the picture for long. I imagine his lack of agency causes him to be emotionally immature sometimes - how can you learn to solve problems like an adult if all the adults in your life treat you like a weapon or a dog or a houseplant?
This guy has to be so screwed up in every way. According to the game guide, he just doesn’t sleep?? Or Azzy never let him sleep? He has that idiosyncratic formal speech pattern, he worries a lot, and the only personal detail we know about him is that guns make him happy. He also kind of openly hates the player’s guts sometimes (he’s sarcastic when given certain commands, is joyfully mean about the GECK, and basically sentences you to death in the non-canon base game ending). No matter how hard the LW tries, some damaged part of him will always resent her authority. She could be a thousand times kinder, fairer, and more just than all his previous employers combined, but she’s still one of them. He still doesn’t have free will.
That power is illegitimate for a reason. There’s no way not to misuse it eventually, especially for a teenager with endless stress and trauma of her own. You’re fighting and you tell him to shut up so you can have the last word. You get a significant other and he gets left home with the dog some nights. You take a quest path he doesn’t approve of and he has to grit his teeth and go along with it.
It’s not fair, can never be fair, and that’s the perfect dynamic to explore. Because as much as he hates her, he loves her too. She literally saved him from Hell on earth, gave him the opportunity to be a force for good. He’s not dumb, he knows that the problem is the contract, not her. Over the years they’ll mature together and learn how to fix a lot of these problems. There are so many unique challenges to creating a healthy relationship out of… that.
(A lot of writers have the contract get destroyed, especially for 😉 reasons. There’s nothing in the game indicating that can’t happen, and it works fine for their purposes. I just think it’s more fun for it to be a continuous obstacle.)

A long over-due ask compilation (Art & Music)
Tumblr media
It's vaguely based on a short story from the book "The Consumer" by Michael Gira, specifically "The Boss". I think it came up in conversation with a friend or something when I was picking a new username, so that's how we arrived at it - this was almost a decade ago so, my memory on it is a little hazy!
{MORE UNDER THE CUT]
Tumblr media
HAHA thank you so much!!! Glad you enjoy what I do 😎🍻
I BELIEVE this little guide I put together over here might be helpful to you, also! I touched on pretty much everything you brought up.
As for reference material when it comes to facial expressions, I have a mirror next to my desk which I glance at often and make weird faces at LOL and for consistency, it's really a matter of learning to dissect and remember facial structure. It's just something you end up developing an eye for when you've done it for long enough! Naturally, if we're talking about drawing existing characters, it's always helpful to just look at some pictures of their mugs and take a minute to define what features about them make their faces recognizable - I touch on this at the link above as well!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do plan on making a "drowstarion" (love that, by the way LOL) playlist eventually, life's just been kicking my ass and I hardly have the time 😭and when I do, I just wanna draw.
Otherwise I don't have any other playlists floating around at the moment, BUT the one my boyfriend made for his Vellioth comic can be found here, and it might scratch a similar itch!
Tumblr media
Thank you! I believe this was in reference to this post. Something like that takes me about... An hour??? If we're talking just the colors, at least. Though that's a really rough estimate because I take a lot of breaks, so my sense of time when I work ends up pretty skewed. Even if the application of the colors themselves took less than 20 minutes I probably spent 2 hours just staring at it LOL.
Tumblr media
My friend, I have no idea. I'm in a constant battle between "I want to draw more realistically" and "I want to simplify my art so I can draw more/faster". What you see is the result of that ongoing brain-tug-of-war.
Also, just the way I assume everyone else develops theirs - they see stuff they like and emulate it until their art is Frankensteinish enough to be it's own unique thing!
Tumblr media
I'm far from a Type O Negative buff, BUT I'm happy to share some of my favorites with you! They're quite scattered across a couple of their albums so I'm not sure I have a favorite, but I would say October Rust is a good starting point.
In no particular order, these are my most listened tracks of theirs: -Love You to Death -Black N.01 -Haunted -She Burned Me Down -Can't Lose You -I Don't Wanna Be Me -Be My Druidess -September Sun -Tripping A Blind Man
Tumblr media
Alas, I was one of those people who was already drawing in kindergarten 😅 though I would say I only started taking it seriously when I was around 15-16 years old. As someone who has tried their hand at several other hobbies since reaching adulthood, I get what you're saying that it can kinda feel like... You missed the wagon? I've felt that way about all kind of things lol
That said, I've seen adults managing to develop their art skills extremely fast and effectively before. Understanding where and how you need to improve, and how to follow lessons/guides best is something that is vastly improved by maturity and knowing how to best hone your time, attention, and resources - and those are skills we completely lack as children. So, I sincerely believe that as long as you commit yourself, you can definitely get to a point that you're happy with in a couple of years if not less.
Tumblr media
JUST DO IT BUDDY we are all just people looking through a screen and you won't ever see, talk, or meet 99% of the folks who ever clap eyes on what you post. Whenever you start getting nervous about sharing something, take a minute to ask yourself why you're nervous, and if none of the reasons have any genuine substance besides being afraid of what people "might think", just go ahead and post it. You're no mind-reader after all, and if you are, I doubt you can hear what a guy from Argentina or wherever is thinking about the art you made.
Point is, nobody online can touch you 🤷and if someone doesn't like what you do, they can simply choose to not interact with it, and if they do you can block and move on. There are zero reasons for you to feel "bad" about putting up a doodle when our experiences on the web are so easily curated nowadays.

One thing that really gets my goat about how Sakura is written is that she does occasionally start to do something, but the narrative shuts her down. Like this:
Tumblr media
Sakura goes to leap into the arena to see Lee after his fight with Gaara. Kakashi shuts her down. Contrast this to the panels that immediately follow this one:
Tumblr media
Naruto does the exact same thing and no one bats an eye!
It’s not that I think characters shouldn’t be stopped from doing what they want— it’s just that when it’s a consistent pattern it makes reading about the character really frustrating. When Haku traps Sasuke in his mirror prison thing, Sakura hurls a kunai to help… and Kakashi tells her to guard Tazuna. She does this obediently for the rest of the fight, INCLUDING when she literally thinks Sasuke is dead (Tazuna has to offer to go to Sasuke with her to get her to move). Sakura’s willingness to do this is actually an interesting character trait, but because it’s couched in this weird lack of agency, it makes her seem complacent and cowardly, especially when the take away of a lot of fights seems to be “try no matter what.”
Here’s another example: in the first part of the chunin exam, they’re all told they can pick to answer a final question and risk being banned from promotion, OR they can back out now and take the exam again later. If Sakura were alone, she’d take the question because she’s confident in her abilities.
Tumblr media
However, she starts to raise her hand to back out because she wants to protect Naruto.
Tumblr media
She backs off when Naruto gives a speech about never giving up, even though her making them all back out is arguably the more mature choice (why would you drag a teammate along on a mission you know they’ll fail?). She also tries to pull them out of the prelim tournament because Sasuke needs urgent medical attention, and he shuts her down AGAIN. Like, looking at this with the wisdom of an adult, Sakura was definitely in the right there.
To be clear, I don’t mind Sakura being a cautious killjoy to Naruto’s “Believe it!” Shonen protag energy. It’s just that whenever she tries to exercise that caution, it gets shut down and that makes it seem like a negative trait to have. (Also: contrast this to Shikamaru being REWARDED for exercising caution and knowing when to back out). I’m not even arguing that the scenes I cited need to be changed, because they do character work for Naruto and Sasuke. I’m just saying that Sakura could have gotten a few more scenes where her choices were plot relevant, and she’d be a more fleshed out character.

What do you think fionas childhood was like 💓
I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY thanks for asking :pp.
I used to be a reallly big fiona fan, so I've thought about this a lot.
I imagine fionas upbringing was similar to Debbie's in alot of ways. They both find themselves in problematic relationships, forced to look after their siblings.
Fiona is mentioned to have a LONG sexual history as early as s1, where she's only 21. Given the lack of attention and validation she was getting, I think fiona has been having sex since she was a child. She probably fell into the "mature for her age" group. Her parents were neglecting her, possibly physically abusing her (we've seen Frank hit his kids in the show), and she wasn't able to get academic validation because she had to drop out. It wouldn't surprise me that this led her into having older bfs and stuff like that.
This makes even more sense to me given how she reacts to her siblins minor /adult relationships. Fiona didn't have anyone to tell her that her relationships were wrong, so when she saw her siblings going through the same thing, she saw nothing wrong with it. Like when she says that ned and Ian is "just sex"
We also see that she , like Debbie and a lot of the other female characters, is scared of abandonment. She tells Jimmy Steve that everybody leaves and keeps going back to Jimmy even though she knows he's bad for her because she's desperate for someone to stay. She rushes into relationships, remember when she married someone after like a week of daiting ?? Fiona has a hard time accepting love even though she craves it. She cheats and ruins one of her most stable relationships. I think that all comes from the way she was treated in her romantic relationships as a child. Of course, a lot of her abandonment fear comes from Monica, too.
Okay moving away from guys.
We know fiona ran track in school and that she was really fucking good at it. This was probably one of the most stable things in her life, an activity away from her siblings and the stress of home. Running is a good way to feel in control. I think fiona developed problems around running ? I'm not sure what exactly you would call it. Fiona would push herself too hard on the track so that she was responsible for the aches she felt instead of them being stressed. I can also imagine having an ED around this time. Her siblings are young, so they're struggling even more with money than normal. She starts to skip meals, and eventually, she finds control in what she eats when she's forced away from track.
I imagine fiona to be relatively popular in school, mainly with guys, but she struggles to keep real outside of school friendships. This changes when she meets Kev and V. I think they probably met after she dropped out of school. V is like 23, I think, in the first season and Kevin 25 ish ? I'm not really that sure, but we know fiona didn't go to school with them. Kevin and V helped fiona a lot, and she definitely needed them. They started to help her with the kids, and for once, she had people on her side. Things get better for her when she meets them.
Baby fiona (5-12) was definitely the in ur face demanding respect, kinda kid. She was sassy and always trying to seem as strong as possible. She will haggle prices for anything and isn't afraid to scam and cheat to get what she needs for her family. But I also imagine her being good at acting sweet. She's a great sweet talker. This is a prominent trait Ian has, and I think he got it from his big sister.
Teens, she's all about drama. Boy drama petty teen girl drama, watching reality TV when she can and stealing gossip magazines. I think she latches onto the typical teen girl image hard. She definitely has a short phase of always getting dress coded. I don't think this lasts that look tho.
Same as in the show, she's always got a new job, sometimes working 2 or 3. She's stressed ofc but learns a lot. She has little hacks and tricks for almost any job. She's resistant in the way she will do anything. Nothing is too dirty or hard for her.
Her relationship with Frank is complex. Fionas Frank's favourite, but she's also the oldest and likely the one he takes his anger out on most. When ur someone's favourite, it hurts them even more when they feel you messed up. I don't think Frank was consistent with his abuse, but it was definitely there. Frank was a 'good' dad sometimes. Fiona gets to know Frank when his alcoholism and drug use wasn't at its peak (He gradually gets worse with age) So fiona got more good dad moments but also felt the disappointment harder as she watched him get worse.
Fiona tells lip (pretty sure it's him) that he's always been Monica's favourite in s1, and I think she has always thought that. Later on in the show, u obviously see Ian and debbie are monicas favourites, tho. I don't see Monica and fiona ever being particularly close. Fiona was hit hard when Monica leaves for the first time, Frank's a mess, and now she has the unfortunate job of explaining that she's gone to her siblings. Unlike her younger siblings, who are probably too young to fully understand what's going on, fiona feels the abandonment full force.
Fiona is 4 / 5 yrs older than lip, right? (Their ages confuse me so bad) so she I'm guessing she was always in a different school than him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he's in elementary school, she's in high school. Fiona has to miss school to run all over the place and collect her siblings from different places. She might have to be the one to unroll her siblings in school, too, a couple times.
Finally just some random things
She has a purple flip phone at one point that she's super protective of
She loves family movie nights and would try to do as many as possible.
She cried when Debbie was born cause she was so excited to have a sister.
Similarly she cried when Ian was born cause he was a boy and she wanted a sister.
She really wanted a pet when she was young
She has 100s of diary's from yrs and yrs of writing in them (we see Carl read one)
Would always struggle with her hair cause it's curly and v helps her learn how to style it even tho she hardly does
She's the kind of person who finds comfort in sitting on the floor, in the bathroom, bath tub
Had a pink hating phase
Had a collection of different fake IDs by the time she was 16
Definitely got in at least 1 fight in school cause of boy drama
Hated cooking
ANYWAY I love fiona

To be honest, I never post on Tumblr, but I just wanted to talk a little bit about this Helluva Boss show.
I recently watched all the episodes and read a lot of the episodes’ comments, and holy crap, the people in the comments are either blind, refuse to be up-front, or care for lousy shows. I read comments stating bullshit like “I love this new Striker villain” or “Blitzo’s backstory keeps getting more interesting. Just like this show” or “I’m so glad Stolas stood up to his wife. He’s the best character.” After reading a bunch of these flat admirations with no real substance, I'm curious if me and the comment section just watched the same video. To me, the show felt very lacking and unprofessional. I couldn't wrap my head around where all of this praise was exactly coming from.
Overall, I do not understand what this show is trying to truly be. The pilot made it seem like a workplace comedy, yet the latest season two episode had the impression of a childish drama. It appears that Vivziepop isn’t aware that there is a way you can make characters interesting or empathetic, without transforming (given the appearance of the pilot) a sitcom into a fanfiction film and adding misinterpreted character trauma and abuse. Or rather she just doesn't have the creativity or skill to undertake another “realistic” way for the audience to relate to her characters.
Another example of this victimizing route of pity, is in Hazbin Hotel’s “Addict” music video. In the video, Vivziepop anticipates the viewers to feel curious about Angel Dust's past and feel empathy for him. According to the music video, Angel gets sexually raped by his boss during his occupation as a stripper, and he suffered some mental breakdown of sorts. This certain “trauma tool” of earning character compassion that Vivziepop uses is extremely nonsensical, ineffective, and amateurish. I firmly didn’t give a shit about one thing that was happening in the music video, considering it felt so juvenile. In fact, I recall turning my phone off halfway through.
In general, the mature concepts of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel are flung around without any real thought behind them, other than to make it appear as an adult animated show and intend for character depth. Sorry, but swearing, sex, abuse, substance abuse, and gore, doesn’t automatically makes a supposed adult show HEARTILY for adults. You want to appeal to adults? Well then, I would start by trying not to partially exploit and mishandle mature concepts. This is not all my own nitpick, but the one I recognize others may have when watching. I can definitely see how certain people may get offended by the show in the regard of maltreatment to said concepts. Not everyone, just particular fully-fledged people.
Regardless, I think Vivziepop taking the turn she did in the latest Helluva Boss episode is bad for the show’s continuation. I doubt she had deeply thought ahead about where to take this show before introducing attempted story complexity with season two’s episode. If that is the case, Helluva Boss will become farther wonkier than it is thus far. I’m no genius, but I’m sure one would need to be absolutely positive where you want to take your story, characters, and plot during elaborate story fabrication. If not, then your entire narrative will get hopelessly lost and lose sense. Knowing Viv’s writing, I don’t think she has the ability to brainstorm both previously and profoundly, and logically connect the dots within the episodes.
In my opinion, I think Helluva Boss should be manifested as an erratic, doltish, (yet charismatic) comedy sitcom. The show takes place in literal hell. If I was in charge, I would make the world enticing by its vast oddity, and ludicrous hellfire anguish. When people think of hell, they think of torture. Where even is the hellish part of Vivziepop’s version of hell?
Of course, Vivziepop can take the show wherever she desires, but that’s how I think it would work best and be the most interesting.
Similar to what I aforementioned, my belief is that Vivziepop is heading into things that she does not fully understand how to handle with her poor script writing. As the show progresses, more people may realize that she isn’t capable of running a thorough tv show. I mean, the first three episodes were convoluted as fuck so early. Therefore, it isn’t a big surprise that she was a pretty incompetent showrunner far before the latest episode. What I’m trying to say, is that she was always incompetent. It will probably just become more evident over time to some of the people who aren’t currently grasping it.
Don’t get me wrong, there are things in Helluva Boss that are done right, and hell, the idea had great potential. However, the things that the show is rather successful in doing, is overshadowed solely by the writing and inconsistency. No offense to Viv, but I am 16, and I believe I could write just as good of a script (if not better) for at least half of the episodes that are out.
Maybe some people genuinely are interested in the show, despite if they see the frailties, and that is fine. Although, the amount of mollycoddling this show (that is clearly far from perfect) gets is absurd. It is not an opinion that this show is not very well done, it is a fact. The fans need to stop overindulging Helluva Boss and start giving it some honest pros and cons, otherwise Viv will not be able to recognize and fix what it is that’s broken. That’s the only way this show may get better; straightforward criticism. If the fans that see the faults keep on spoon feeding their umpteen kindnesses on a show that doesn’t require it in its ongoing state, it’s incredibly plausible Helluva Boss will grow a poor reputation, even beyond its fanbase.

So I recently finished reading TGCF... But I have a problem with two things. Spoilers ahead obviously.
In human years, Xie Lian is about 10 years older than Hua Cheng, yes? Since Xie Lian gets turned into an immortal at 17 and doesnt physically age anymore... So how is it that Hua Cheng dies before turning 18 like the fortune said? Because he dies as a soldier... But there is no way that a decade has passed before the war, no??? I can't remember exactly - I feel like I've read the whole thing too fast, the timeline feels blurry in my head - but hasn't it been less than a year since Xie Lian steps down to help for the first time? Isn't that when the war breaks out? That should still make Hua Cheng a child, not a nearly adult teenager...
But THEN - even if I assume I misread that and he actually did die at 16-17, where the hell did the adult form of him come from??? Wouldn't that make the one that followed Xie to puqi shrine the "real" form??? Since that's approximately the age he died?? His image with the eyepatch and the pearl bead and all that, it kept being described as a man in his 20s.... I keep trying to think what have I missed, but even the time he gets killed as a "no name" ghost for the first time, too, he's also in his actual time-of-death state. That much was clear. So what was up with the sudden body change? This whole time, between dying as a ghost, to rejecting becoming a god, he was an immortal still, in one way or another. He couldn't age, right??? It was never mentioned that in the process of becoming the ghost king he could mature physically as he was gathering more power. The only thing explained seemed to be the eye part.
What am I missing here????? No doubt there must be something I misread or accidentally skipped, but what.... What's the explanation for it???????????? How did Hua grow more and Xie didn't even though they were both turned immortal at approx the same age????????????????????????
Also, actually another thing that really annoyed me: that damn array password being left unrevealed. Not that I was that curious of what it was, but I expected it to be revealed and it wasn't, not even in the extras (and in the extras it was even revealed what the last mural was which was EXTREMELY obvious and didn't need to be said). So I went on reddit and I only found theories and someone mentioned that the author stated that "it's to stay between hualian". Which made me even more annoyed LOL because it just makes it sound like even she couldn't come up with what it could be. Personally I don't think it would be sexual, since obviously hua had a ton of worshippers and was a pretty boy and everything, so a lot of people, especially residents of ghost town, wouldn't actually mind saying some stupid stuff like praising his dick or something. I think it would be something like "hua cheng is the best husband in the world" because by the time Xie learned it obviously they still weren't a couple and if it was something Xie-specific (like "San Lang" since he's the only one to refer to him with that. He was soooooooo embarrassed of being so in love with Xie Lian he would NEVER force him to say this kind of stuff in fear of revealing too openly wanting to be spoken to in such way).
I don't know LOL I think I'm overthinking this way too much. But I don't want to give too much shit to the author, I think the story was fun and idk I honestly enjoyed it. Should I draw fanart. I kind of want to.... But yeah I think that's all I really have to say about it lol. It was fun! Definitely not watching the anime or reading the comic or anything else. Genuinely surprised there was no *actual* sex scene though. Also no wedding?????? I can't believe there was no wedding.... Have I missed a chapter or two???? How was there no wedding............ That's so crazy. I can forgive the lack of sex scenes but no wedding...... I'm so disappointed. I was actually so excited to read about a god + ghost wedding. That would be so interesting.

Abbott Rewatch episode 2 thoughts/ analysis:
Here we go again episode two Light Bulb this is a fun and interesting character episode but I feel like in a way they all are. The episode starts us off by introducing Tariq Janine’s boyfriend of ten years. If you do the math that means they’ve been together since she was 15 which isn’t ideal because high school sweethearts don’t always work out. It’s actually more than that because she spent all of her important years with one person. High school, college moving out all of that with him without a lot of new people. It’s worse that he is a very unreliable boyfriend so she’s been doing a lot of the work. I love Tariq he’s funny and fun but he’s not a good boyfriend at all which we see pretty quickly. He’s very nonchalant about the rent issue and Janine’s organization chart he wants her to look at. Janine unfortunately gives her breakfast away because he’s hungry a early example of her not taking care of herself. Tariq may have said he’ll get to paying part of the rent but she knows he’s said that before and it’s exhausting.
Tumblr media
It’s an issue that goes to school with her as one of the students has trouble walking down the hallway because of the flickering light. The concern of a child and the annoyance of things not getting done is definitely what determined Janine to want to fix it. Barbara and Melissa were not wrong at all that it’s not a big issue and she should just focus on her job though. This however doesn’t register with Janine because she’s so determined to fix things around her.
Gregory also has a nice plot here with a parent bringing her child in late which is the start of him learning how to do the things you have to for the kids. Said parent is Amber and it’s a nice introduction to her and a way for Gregory to have to deal with awkward conversations.
Tumblr media
As for Janine oh boy I know she always means well but she definitely messed up here. It hurt to see Melissa and Barbara’s annoyed faces but I did love that she was very apologetic. She is apologetic to a overkill thought though with how she needs to fix the problem.
Tumblr media
Side note while Gregory isn’t happy about the lights being off either we do get a cute Teddie scene with him helping her. Something else that I noticed was the continuous frustration of Janine wanting to Tariq to get to it. I see a quick glimpse of her cell phone with his text messages and of course he can’t do what she asked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things unfortunately get worse for her after she goes to the breaker. There’s layers to why she’s like this especially that I’ll really dive into. Keep in mind that Janine is being increasingly annoyed by the lack of things that work in the school, Tariq not following through on things and her refusal to eat. She’s been so focused on fixing everything by herself that she refused to take care of herself and the heat causing her to faint.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing about Janine is that while she does the same thing a lot which is try to fix something that’s too much for her to fix it’s honestly not a bad thing. Janine is a very caring person she sees a problem wants to help and if no one else will help her she wants to do it herself because she believes in herself that she can do it. The problem is that she doesn’t take into account the equipment, time and knowledge that she need to fix something like a light bulb.
Essentially it’s always good intentions bad execution. It does hurt to see her fail and for the teachers to scowl at her but she does learn from this overtime. It’s not that she stopped caring it’s that now knows a bit more that sometimes good intentions can really backfire. Yes she should have realized that after other attempts to fix something but I feel like with that the thing that happens in the end is out of her control. It’s essentially a lot of I want to think I know better because I’m an adult. She wants to be just as mature and smart as Barbara and Mellissa even though she’s actually very smart.
Her childishness is more due to her neglect as a child and how her positivity is to protect herself from fights and negativity that makes her uncomfortable. While a lot of this could frustrate viewers because there’s a mentality that if someone’s an adult that can’t make mistakes like this I’d argue that you can.
Adults make mistakes all the time, they ask other adults for help they make the same mistake because that’s life! We don’t stop learning and growing at 21 and we definitely don’t know everything by the time we’re 25 or honestly any age. When you’re in your 20’s you’re freaking out about life and feel like you’re behind and want to grow as a person. Janine’s doing all of that and feels like a failure even though failing is part of the process and she technically didn’t fail she just made mistakes. All that said is that Janine is perfectly flawed she’s just a woman going through life with her childhood trauma and confusion of life on her back. I probably haven’t even scratched the surface of why her being flawed is great and how to explain why she is the ways she is.
This episode ends on a great note on a lesson and a outlook to improve herself. They all care but they have to care for themselves first to do that for the kids. It really hurts me that she doesn’t prioritize herself enough. We also get Barbara and Gregory connecting and getting another thank you for helping with communication. A small Teddie moment where he looks at Janine when Barbara says you have to say what you need to get what you want.
Tumblr media
Janine takes a good step here by putting her foot down just a little bit by leaving Tariq a voicemail telling him he has to look over the budget. While we know she’s still with Tariq for a while it’s still her trying to prioritize her feelings. She does this again when she agrees to go to to lunch with Gregory. I absolutely love that this was his way of asking her out it’s so cute. The huge difference of Tariq and Gregory happens at the end when he notices the crooked sign and fixes it for her. It’s the little things with them and I love it. And with that the start of the after school crew and Gregory is not pleased at first because of course he wants to be with Janine and he’s not exactly warmed up to Jacob yet. The growth of all of that is wonderful. Overall another great episode and I can’t wait to continue!

That dating app Anon is hilarious. So inaccurate.(I personally think dating apps is more scary than walking alone at midnight. Cause you’re looking to meet with a strange man on the internet ;fuck no. That chills my blood thinking of it. But I know folks who used dating apps.)
But my aunt met her husband on a dating app. She was I think in about at least her late 30’s or early 40’s, because my cousin were teenagers at that age. She divorced her husband for finding out he was a porn user
I came from Mormonism and people act like you’re an old maid if you’re unmarried at 21+ so it’s just makes me cringe realizing how much our society is influenced in general with cults. This cult mentality of thinking. Patriarchy is a sex and death cult.
I personally have no interest in dating at this point and some women seem to think it’s sad I’m childfree and single… but I don’t want kids either. I’ll have women tell me “it can happen at any age!” And express they had their first child at 37, or start their career till 40.
It’s so sinister how we are taught to fear aging. It’s a major distraction. From career and ambitions and talents and hobbies.
I think maybe men know that because they die sooner they want to take us with them, they’re like leeches.
Go on a dating app and pose as a 15 year old girl, a lot of men, a scary amount of men will prey in teenage girls online. So what exactly was anon’s point?
I’ve found the older I get, the less vulnerable I am to manipulation, and I think that’s why men prefer “younger women.”
First of all your aunt is based as fuck for divorcing her husband bc of porn. I'm assuming it was a decision based in religion since you said you come from Mormonism but still, always good to hear about a hypocritical coomer getting his ass kicked to the curb.
Oh you are sooo spot on with the observation of how society is absolutely infested with cult mentality. Patriarchal society in general really can be considered one of the biggest cults known to humanity bc basically every man alive is complicit & seeks to keep women from questioning our "role" with various strategies ranging from "you'll die a lonely hag surrounded by 20 cats if you don't conform" to "you'll burn in hell if you don't conform." And of course, conforming in both cases means spending your entire life in the service of men despite the well documented fact that single childless women are a happier demographic on average than married women with kids. Cults brainwash people the same way patriarchy brainwashes women: by fear mongering with lies & propaganda designed to ensure our subordination. It's all such bullshit.
And yeah men definitely prefer younger women out of a desire to manipulate & mold them into their "ideal woman" in addition to the pedophilic beauty standards they have. They admit to it as well bc they genuinely don't seem to understand why it's fucking disgusting and horrific and literally grooming (they hate when you use that word to describe a 47 yr old dating a 19 yr old but adults can be groomed too, every abusive relationship involves grooming and an age gap isn't even a necessary component though it helps due to the lack of maturity & life experience, which abusive men are well aware of and actively seek out).
I like how you rightfully call the fear of aging imposed on us by society as a distraction bc that's exactly it. Capitalism (which is imo inherently a greedy corrupt & deeply male minded model of economics) wants us wasting time and money on stupid shit like plastic surgery wrinkle creams and botox, to line their pockets yes but also bc as long as we are directing our critical eyes towards the mirror the ruling class (again, mostly male) are free to continue operating as usual without pesky things like protests and boycotts getting in the way of their bottom line. Not to mention on a personal level, men get to benefit from us being too absorbed in self scrutiny to realize we are worth more than what they give us (usually nothing but headaches) & the beauty obsession is nothing more than fighting a battle that can never be won bc the standard always morphs & female body types literally go in and out of fashion with the times.

If it's alright, I'd like to send you a little fun imagine of Poppy and Kittty too ^^
On the topic of dating; I'm not sure when Kitty would have met her husband or how, but if she and Poppy were friends then, Poppy would definitely be supportive of the budding romance ^^ and would even be willing to offer her advice from her own past relationships.
Though, because two of her past relationships ended pretty badly, and they were just in general, not great people (I can't remember if I've told you about Poppy's exes. I can if you want to know), I can also see Poppy wanting to meet Kitty's boyfriend as soon as possible. Just to put her own worries to rest and make sure Kitty isn't going to get stuck with a bad guy like she did. Though I'm certain it'd be no time at all before Pops is convinced that he's the one for her friend ^^
Awww this is so sweet, they're like the female version of Eddie and Roger 😊
And Kitty goes through quite the maturity. She overcomes a lot of anger and stress but learns to let go and accept things. Not things like lack of proper justice or the still existing evils of the world but she grows to have more patience that with time and work things will get better. Her adult self is a bit more mellow than her teenage one but she still retains some of her naughty rebellious streak (I suppose you can take the girl out of the punk style but you can't take the punk out of the girl.) She has a turbulent teenhood thinking boys are gross and men are hurtful but around her 30s she probably meets some guy in the animation business and he is so...neither of those things. She maybe gained more confidence in her 20s to date and tried not to let it get to her if it didn't work out. But her new partner is so dedicated and respectful and has a surprising sense of humour for someone so serious looking. Although it would be really funny if he were out of the business like he works as a lawyer and she's the Cartoon MomTM.
He could even be a lawyer who is willing to defend toons!
(Also what of Poppy's exes 👀 because 18, 19 year old Kitty would be like "Where are they I just wanna talk." *holds baseball bat*

Random MCD age headcannons 🤓 (these are what I think the characters ages where when they were first introduced)
Laurance- 22. the youngest head guard known, got his title cause of Sasha’s death and his close relationship to her. He’s new to romance and inexperienced, but never had to really try. His looks and title got a lot of attention. Learnt how to fight younger than most, being an orphan requires some level of self defence from young.
Aphmau-24. Mostly cause Jess was around that age when starting mcd. Aphmau is like a teen in many ways but can be quite motherly. Her knowledge is that of a child in some ways as Irene’s slumber caused her to forget a lot of things. She’s a fast learner though so matured quite quickly.
Garroth-26. Left guard Academy quite late (24) and ran away from home straight away. he acts quite old for his ages, many believe he is in his 30’s before they see his face.
Dante- 16. Fresh out of guard school, lack of a family growing up made him childlike, he’s sorta regressed. Think of him like a 13 year old with heighten anxiety, on red bull 24/7.
Katelyn- 26. While the same age of Garroth, she left guard academy at 16. After that, she was shortly recruited into the jury and forced to flee home. The change from a comfortable life in a big family to a big kingdom surrounded by strangers made her adopt an older alias. She lies about her age and acts similar to someone their 30s. She’s actually childish at heart. She lacks a lot of social skills/maturity.
Aaron- 30. Married young, had a child young, was a lord even younger. Never really got to have a childhood or enjoy his teens. While he’s mature he can break from pressure easily but he doesn’t show it. Many considered him to be the youngest lord they know, sadly his lordship didn’t last very long.
Travis- 18. Lost his mother at 14, been fending for himself since. While he has a knowledge in witchcraft rivalled that of a adult warlock he’s still just a child. Enjoys to joke around, play with children, do some make believe. His combat and magic abilities are far ahead his maturity. (And yes he definitely laughs at toilet humour)
Lucinda- 25. A free spirit, many compare her attitudes to that of a teen but her witch craft rivals that of an old witch. She’s has little to no responsibilities, taking life as it goes- many underestimate the experience and power she holds. Witches don’t normally master their crafts till late in there 30’s/early 40’s however Lucinda is already quite close.
Zane- 25. He’s literally a grumpy old man. Never really liked childish things. As soon as he was 18 he started trying to get the high priest role. When the old priest died from “accidental causes” he immediately took the place. Zane was that kid that Zianna always said to “Zuzu why can’t you be like the other kids? You’re so odd.” Been a menace since birth.
Vylad- 16. (He’s dead so he’s technically gonna be 16 forever) his death is what triggered Garroth to run away to guard academy. Zane definitely killed him, probably was snooping around where you shouldn’t of and got smoked. I’m no expert but being dead and stuck in the nether definitely effects a personal maturity (/s).

The evolution of Wednesday Addams (4)
And to complete our exploration of Wednesday’s character (for now), we will stop at 2019′s animated Addams Family movie.
Tumblr media
For this incarnation, while they reused Charles Addams’ original design (with minor changes, such as her pigtails now ending in nooses and her sporting the same grey eyelids as her mother), they rather based her personality on the 90s movie. Like Christina Ricci’s Wednesday, this incarnation is an emotionless girl - not that she does not have emotions, but she lacks any kind of facial express and speaks with a calm, low, monotonous voice, making her look like a walking corpse. In her own words she doesn’t know what “happiness” feels (she can only call it “the opposite of sad”) ; and even when she tries to show love or compassion, she does so in a creepy way almost as if she was threatening you (see when she tries to claim her love for her brother). And just like Christina Ricci’s Wednesday she has a very intelligent and bored view of the world, with many sarcastic and ironic comments reflecting a definitively more adult mindset - though unlike the 90s Wednesday, this one lacks any real form of dark cynicism and biting humor. Instead this Wednesday’s calm and cold behavior makes her rather a very detached character, constantly analyzing and putting in question the world around her, observing it all with a clinical eyes and having diagnostics more than reactions. She is a delicate morbid flower...
... but a talented one. Wednesday, despite having still some “childish” sides to her (she keeps playing with her dolls - beheading them), is also shown to be a gifted “mad scientist” able to build a machine to resurrect dead frogs into zombies ; and she is a talented crossbow shooter. Her experience, maturity and intelligence is also here put forward by the clear affirmation that she is the elder sister, and showing her to be of junior high school age. A clear inversion of the original setting where Pugsley was the eldest brother, and still bearing the influence of the 90s movies: in fact, the inversion is fully manifested here by how in Wednesday and Pugsley’s regular “let’s try to kill each other” games, Wednesday always has the upper hand. She is the one who keeps harming, mutilating, fooling or “killing” Pugsley in various ways, from burying him alive to pulling forcibly his tongue out while ink is poured in his mouth - the complete mirror of Pugsley poisoning a helpless Wednesday in Chas original cartoons. Though again, this apparent “bullying” relationship is still framed as just normal brother-sisters games, and Wednesday is shown to be a loving and caring sister... in her own way.
Just like in the 60s series, the Addams kid have a pet octopus, but this time it isn’t Pugsley’s, but Wednesday’s, and it is named Socrates instead of Aristotle. In fact, Wednesday is shown to actually go along quite well with the various “pets” of the house, as she is also seemingly the favorite child of the living tree in the courtyard, Ichabod, who is ready to do a lot of things to please her. When she feels bored she apparently likes to burn things down with a magnifying glass, and her bed has a guillotine build in it so that if she doesn’t get out of bed in time, she’ll be beheaded.
The most interesting aspect of this Wednesday, however, lies in her role in the plot of the movie. Instead of going with the 90s disdain and rejection of “normality”, here we actually have a Wednesday... curious about “normal” life. This movie depicts the Addams children raised alone in their house with no other contact than their family and cut from the outside world - an existence that bores a now teenage Wednesday tired of the same edless routine. So when she discovers the town nearby of “normal” people, she gets fascinated by this different lifestyle and is willing to try all these new things, such as unicorn hair ornaments or pink clothes. A willingness to explore a different side of the world that actually puts her at odds with her mother Morticia, who as we said previously in this movie has a profound distrust of non-Addams people. This leads to a rift in their once loving relationship, as Wednesday perceives her mother as being close-minded and controlling, and in answer turns herself into a “rebellious teenager”, by changing her outfit for a cheery pink one and later running away from her home. Note that she does not entirely adhere to the “normal” lifestyle, as we see her promptly return to her usual black-and-white morbid style and she doesn’t change her lifeless behavior - in the movie it is shown that part of her interest is pure curiosity in front of something “different”, while the other is just a rebellious attempt at annoying her mother and contradicting her ways.

tbh I think maybe in the first book the comment about maturity was supposed to make the age gap between Feyre and Tamlin/Rhys more palatable and then she forgot about it
SJM’s canon changes a lot so I think maybe at the beginning, the aging process was meant to just be a lot slower so 18 for humans was like 75 for fae, but then as the books went on and she signed on to continue that she changed it, and it’s more like once fae reach maturity then their aging process stills/slows for a long time.
I can’t find a shorter clip of it and it was like an hour and a half interview, but after ACOSF people were saying that Gwyn is a child and SJM addressed it, confirming fae are adults at the same time as humans and that she’s definitely not putting children through the Blood Rite and having smutty book club lol
I think her lack of consistency with things like that, and how often she obviously changes her mind about character relationships and direction causes a LOT of confusion for all of us😅 I love her writing but sometimes I’m like girl what??
Oh my gosh I completely forgot about the implication ageing would have on the book club and the blood rite 🤦
But it’s still a shame that there does seem to be that inconsistency? Especially when she seems to have tied some other things together quite well in my opinion?
And I can see what you mean about in the first book—clarifying about the age gap for the sake of digestibility, but then it kind of goes out the window later on 😐
I guess with the age process of fae as well is if 75 was the equivalent of 18 and supposedly maturity was going at an equal rate then why was Tarquin so steady and put together?? I know very few equivalent-of-nineteen-year-olds who would be able to manage handling an entire court, so clearly much more development happens since it’s such a long time span, too 🫠
‘I think her lack of consistency with things like that, and how often she obviously changes her mind about character relationships and direction causes a LOT of confusion for all of us😅 I love her writing but sometimes I’m like girl what??’
Yes! I really love reading acotar but there are some things that are hard to ignore no matter how deep into escapism we go 😭

ARC Review: The Dueling Duchess by Minerva Spencer
Tumblr media
4.25/5. Releases 5/23/2023.
For when you're vibing with... Confident, mature heroines, adoring rakes, a bit of trick gunslinging, and situationships that turn into real relationships.
I like my first Minerva Spencer read, The Boxing Baroness. The follow-up was even better--sleeker, more romantic, with less focus on the history and more focus on the couple (and the fun lady circus!). There were a few bold takes with The Dueling Duchess, and I was into it.
Quick Takes:
--Cecile, our heroine, is French; and the book actually kicks off during the Revolution when she's a young teen. I loved this, just as I enjoyed the awareness of a world beyond England in the previous book. While most of this novel does take place in England, Cecile doesn't feel like an English heroine, and you get a sense of a wider, richer world than is often present in Regency historicals.
--Another thing about Cecile, a heroine I loved: she's 35-36 over the course of this novel, and she knows her shit. She knows what she likes, she knows what she doesn't like, and she suffers no fools. This doesn't mean she's cold or incapable of emotion (one of my favorite moments in the book lets us know just how much this isn't the case) but she's seen the world and she's both guarded and voracious enough be unable to resist Guy. Because Guy is Hot. And Guy is famous for his ability do sex things.
--So often--especially recently, I'm not gonna lie--I read about heroes who are presented as rakes, and as you read the book you're like... this is not a rake. Guy reads like an actual rake; he's charming, he's hot, his exploits are written about in newspapers, and he cucks randoms. We love him. Both Guy and Cecile are people who have slept with others. The book does not shy away from their experiences. It does not shame them for it. They get jealous, but they're also like.... fucking adults about it. The conflicts they do have are less about their mutual pasts, and more about their feelings for each other.
--One thing I felt like The Boxing Baroness suffered from was a somewhat slower feeling because of how much was going on outside of the central love story. Here, we're a lot more focused on Guy and Cecile's relationship and character development. There is external conflict and it matters, but the story is much tighter.
--I really enjoyed the lady circus in this go-around, as well as how much of Cecile's identity was tied up in it. A lot of this book was about Cecile having such a strong sense of independence... which is good! However, her journey involved recognizing that she hid behind her independence to avoid hard, risky emotions and relationships. It felt really authentic, and it transcended the historical setting.
--While this is definitely a heroine-forward book, Guy is such a good hero. He's a hero who basically spends most of the book groveling; but his faults are more down to a lack of understanding than true cruelty. He fucking looooves this woman, and the fact that this is a second chance romance (wherein we do flash back to the beginning of their first go) solidifies that.
The Sex Stuff:
Yeah, this one is hot. You get all the "good girl"-ing you could want (I have such a thing for when a hero is younger than the heroine and calls her a good girl), there's no worrying about virginal hesitance, Cecile! Likes! It! Rough! I absolutely loved the sex scenes in this book.
This was just such a solid historical romance. I would love to see more in this vein--rollicking, with just the right amount of emotion. It felt very old school meets new school.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
