I took the RAADS-R Autism Assessment as Anakin, basing my answers to each question on textual evidence from Clone Wars Gambit, Jedi Quest, Rogue Planet, and the Star Wars prequel trilogy, as well as what I have read of the RotS novelization and Labyrinth of Evil. 

Please keep in mind that my interpretations of the scenes I used as evidence are probably affected by my own personal biases and the fact that I have autism too, so I’m not claiming that any of this is how the stories/dialogue were meant to be interpreted. It’s just for fun! In fact, if anyone interpreted these things differently I would love to know!

Anakin’s results:

Language

I based my interpretation of Anakin’s language almost entirely on his speech patterns in the prequel trilogy. Anakin’s tone and cadence are uneven unless he’s repeating back something someone else has said. He often has trouble controlling his volume or the speed of his talking. In Rogue Planet, Obi-Wan thinks "Anakin could become both expressive and imitative whenever he felt excited or ill at ease." 

His manner of communicating is up-front and honest, even when others don’t want to hear it. In the beginning of Attack of the Clones, he makes Padmé uncomfortable with his advances and does not notice until she comments on it. When she makes it clear that she is uncomfortable, he still wants to understand why. 

Social relatedness

Anakin has the ability to work well in groups when he is in control, but ultimately, he is an outsider aside from a few special people. Even then, his interest in the people who he chooses to spend his time with is specific and possessive. In the beginning of Jedi Quest, Obi-Wan worries that fourteen year old Anakin has no friends. He has trouble relating to others his age at the temple. Obi-Wan spends the rest of the series worrying about the ways Anakin interacts with the friends he makes and ultimately loses. 

Anakin’s concept of relationships is self-serving and one sided. He pined for Padmé for ten years without seeing her, obsessed with a concept of her in his mind that he formed when he was nine years old. He sees himself in others, but has trouble relating to how they feel unless he can put their feelings into his own perspective. In Rogue Planet, he has several moments of extreme empathy for both Ke Daiv and Sekot when he realizes that their experiences have been similar to his. Even if their similarities aren’t exact, when he’s able to project his own trauma onto theirs he’s able to relate to them and interact with them more easily.

Sensory/motor

Anakin has excellent fine motor skills, shown by his mastery of mechanics. Both his motor skills and sensory perceptions are intensified by his connection to the Force. 

“Is it possible you see nothing more than the tensions of approaching adulthood?” Mace asked. “No!” Anakin cried. “I see… too much, too much.” “Too much what?” “I burn like a sun inside!” The boy’s voice rang out in the chamber like a bell.

Particularly in Clone Wars Gambit and Rogue Planet, Anakin is thrown off and frustrated when his surroundings are too loud and too bright if they’re outside of a controlled environment that he enjoys. He is easily overwhelmed, but in battle, especially in a ship, he’s able to zero in his focus on the aspects of the scenario that he enjoys to overcome it. 

He frequently exhibits stimming (the repetitive performance of certain physical movements or vocalizations, as a form of behavior by persons with autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions) behaviors. Throughout Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith he can be seen picking objects up to turn over in his hands, tinkering with electronics, and rocking when sitting and standing in situations that are distressing to him. 

He’s described stimming in Rogue Planet as he’s taking in the sights and sounds of the new environment around him, often holding his hands out in front of himself and turning them over. 

He gave a small shiver, then he, also, rubbed his palms on his tunic, held them out, and looked around. 

One of Anakin’s most iconic and most heavily criticized lines in Attack of the Clones is his description of how he understands the world through sensory details: “I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.”

Circumscribed interests

Anakin has intense defined interests in mechanics, often stating that he relates to machines and understands them better than he does with other people. In Clone Wars Gambit: Siege, he uses his special knowledge and connection to machines to rework a storm shield into one that can keep out battle droids. As early as nine years old, in The Phantom Menace, he was already building a podracer of his own, and by age twelve in Rogue Planet he still had that knack for machines and racing, which he used to modify a pair of racing wings to participate in a garbage pit race. In Attack of the Clones, after the death of his mother, he immediately goes back to working with machines to cope. When Padmé tries to talk to him he gets upset and sidetracks back to that interest.

“I brought you something. Are you hungry?” "The shifter broke. Life seems so much simpler when you’re fixing things. I’m good at fixing things. Always was. But I couldn’t… Why’d she have to die? Why couldn’t I save her? I know I could have!”

His interests are zeroed in, and when he wants to talk about them, he has trouble sensing that others don’t want to hear it. 

Obi-Wan let these words sit between them for some seconds before asking, blandly enough, “What does the ship mean to you?” “A ship that tunes itself to a need for speed... Wow!” Anakin said. “For me, that would be the perfect friend.” “That’s what I thought,” Obi-Wan said.

When he’s fixated on one point, it’s hard for him to see the bigger picture, no matter how many times those round him try to remind him of it. This is a trait that follows him throughout the entirety of his life. 

Total score

With a total score of 188, Anakin falls between "very strong evidence for autism" and the maximum possible score an autistic person can quire on the RAADS-R scale. For comparison, the mean score of autistic people is 130, and the minimum score at which autism is considered is 65. At 90, autism is considered highly likely. I also took the assessment with Obi-Wan in mind, drawing from the same sources as well as Jedi Apprentice, and scored 74, with the most focus in his results being in circumscribed interests and social relatedness. 

So many traits that Anakin’s character is criticized for are autistic traits, whether his writers made him that way intentionally or not. I think Hayden Christensen’s portrayal of him was genius and so heartfelt when viewed through this lens. Even when it isn’t being called autism, it’s clear when people recognize a collection of autism traits and characterize a character based on their perception of those traits. Anakin is an amazing case of unintentional autism representation, and the hatred and biases people have toward his character are often based on his autistic traits.

That scene where Tahiri and Nen Yim realize that the Riina memories came from Nen Yim is just. Ugh, it's so emotional for me.

How Tahiri conflates them with her choice of words. "Our." "We." Like, even though the memories came from someone else, they're still no less hers.

"I forgave you, you know. Even before I knew this."

Now I want to write an AU where Nen Yim lives and she and Tahiri get to live together on Zonama Sekot after the war, and have some kind of complicated friendship that only makes sense to them.

Especially since Nen Yim's the only Yuuzhan Vong character in this series that I've decisively liked so far. Like, I seriously think that had she made it to the next book, she would have chosen to back Harrar in his decision to work toward a peaceful end to the war.

Side note: How weird is it to presumably be older in the Riina memories than the Little Tahiri memories? I'm not sure how old Nen Yim is, but I'm pretty sure she's not sixteen here.

Star Trek Enterprise s1e17 Rogue Planet

My first thought was: Zonama Sekot?! 😲 But it wasn't so. :(

I wish the planet looked more credible. It doesn't have a sun, how are the plants even growing there?

They go to explore and find Eska hunters who come there every year to hunt as a tradition.

There's a stupid contest about scout badges between Archer and Reed.

Archer sees a familiar woman in the forest and she asks for his help. Eventually he discovers that the woman is a member of the local shapeshifting and mind-reading species that's also hunted by the Eska. This species sounds more advanced than Odo.

Archer explains the metaphor that the woman symbolizes someone he imagined from a poem and it means he should keep chasing his dream.

Anyway, he has dr Phlox make some chemical for the shapeshifters so they can hide from hunters.

The episode doesn't answer the real questions - why the Eska are so bent on hunting the shapeshifters? Do they eat them? Was the wild pig they ate with Archer and the rest of away team actually a shapeshifter? If the shapeshifters' base form is a giant slug, does that mean the Eska are space French? Is eating intelligent aliens a form of cannibalism?

Will the Eska actually stop hunting or will they come up with a new strategy? I really wonder what would be the effects of Archer's intervention. What if helping the shapeshifters made things worse for them in the long term? It all depends on the Eska's determination to hunt them. I'm not sure they will give up so easily.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order book 19

Reread: Jan 2024

The finale!! Luceno really popped off with this book wow. So much action. The big battles were sometimes so confusing because there was a lot going on but it all came together at the end. It starts with the scales tipping in favour of the bad guys, like really badly, but the living planet really saves their asses. Nothing like religious turmoil to ruin what should have been a victorious battle. The good guys rally and bring the fight to the Coruscant system, where Zonama Sekot has made its glorious apperance. Troops are landed on Coruscant to retake it, including the Skywalkers and the Solo twins. The way Luke goes into a Force trance and just murders his way to the Yuuzhan Vong throne room is wild. Same goes for Jacen who becomes a conduit for so much pure Force energy that he ages five years in minutes. But he also just fucks up the power behind the throne guy so hard that way. Lots of weird Force things here to go through which I enjoyed.

And let's not forget the Galactic Alliance deploying biological weapons against the Yuuzhan Vong. Some of the government wanted to genocide their way out of the war. Sadly this turned into a weapon against the good guys when the Yuuzhan Vong realized that Zonama Sekot's life was genetically similar and thus susceptible to the agent. Luckily it didn't all end in tragedy.

The war is won and Zonama Sekot reveals that it's the child of the real Yuuzhan'tar (not Coruscant, but the actual homeworld of the Yuuzhan Vong) and it claims it's wayward children? Siblings? Anyways, it wants to rehabilitate the Yuuzhan Vong and reconnect them to the Force, since Yuuzhan'tar cut them off from it when it exiled them for being evil.

It was a fitting end to the series. Tragic on lots of levels. But our heroes overcame many, many hardships to get to the end and most came out stronger. And Leia realizing she needed to formally finish her Jedi training, but that's in the next book(s) I just like it a lot haha. I think many people were hoping for a more crushing victory against the Yuuzhan Vong, but I think this way made more sense. And involved a lot less slaughter. Three cheers for the Galactic Alliance! Now to pick up the pieces.

Jacen Solo:

Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus in Star Wars Legends. Long before his descent into darkness in Legacy of the Force, Jacen had already begun adopting a somewhat cynical yet also introspective and philosophical outlook on the universe, especially during Traitor, having come to the conclusion with his mentor Vergere that there was no light side or dark side. It was all about the intent behind the power, deciding to have an all-encompassing unconditional love for the universe, even going as far to find Zonoma Sekot, the living planet which was the key to the Yuuzhan Vong War ending without genocide. However, this selflessness led him to become a Well-Intentioned Extremist in trying to prevent widespread anarchy, alienating his family.

Magneto:

Magneto has had a very troubling past (being a victim of Nazi cruelty), sees himself as a freedom fighter, and will often do heinous things in what he believes is for the better good of mutantkind. Authors often even describe portraying him as "Malcolm X to counter Professor X as Martin Luther King."

New Jedi Order: The Old Masters

Purge Survivors, those who remember a time before the Empire, before the Dark Times. A lot of them are actually very hands off, content to let the new generation do their work.

Anakin Skywalker: Didn’t become Palpatine’s apprentice or slaughter the Jedi at the Temple, but did cut off Mace’s hand, and promptly passed out from shock. Has plastic surgery so he looks relatively normal, and honestly just hangs around and fixes the Order’s ships. Dies 21 ABY, becoming one with the Force to prevent Palpatine’s second attempted resurrection, saving his youngest granddaughter, Shmi, in the process.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Unfortunately dies in 10 ABY, his adventures and various injuries (especially those caused by Palpatine & C’Boath) finally running him down. Sassmaster to the end. Proves ghosts can cry when Mara names her and Luke’s firstborn after him (Obi Wan, Ben is actually a nickname). Basically became Yoda in his last years.

Ahsoka Tano: Cool aunt, later cool grandma of the Order, and operates the Order’s unofficial intelligence network, which she later hands off to Mara Jade. Ben’s master alongside Cal Kestis. Joins the fighting during the Yuuzhan Vong War and might have to be physically restrained to keep her from fighting the First Order (though there’s a large section of the Jedi who think they shouldn’t bother).

Soaring Hawkbat Clan: Led by K’khruk and Chase Piru, a small community of Force more beholden to the old Jedi’s ways, and somewhat estranged from the much more reformed New Jedi Order. Comes back into the fold during the YZV War, with both K’khruk and Piru serving on the Naboo Council by 38 ABY.

T’ra Saa: A Neti Jedi, taken up exile on a remote world following her husband’s death, but returned to the wider galaxy after being discovered by her lineage descendant, Ezra Bridger. Embarrassing Grandma for Ezra, Pypey, Barratk’l, Jacen and Korto Vos. Sacrifices her life to allow the Jedi to escape the Yuuzhan Vong siege of Yavin 4 in 26 ABY.

Ikrit: A Jedi who served with the Order during the High Republic, who went into a state of prolonged Force Hibernation on Yavin 4, completely circumventing the Jedi Purge. Would be awoken in 20 ABY by Anakin Solo and Tahiri Veila, the former xey would take as xer official Padawan. Would give xer life to allow both xer pupils to escape the siege of Yavin 4, breaking a centuries long vow of pacifism to hold off a team of Slayer Vong and drawing fire from Peace Brigade.

Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy “Scout”: A member of the Fulcrum intelligence network in the Rebellion, who re-founds the Antarian Rangers following the foundation of the New Jedi Order, and would weather the YZV War before retiring to serve as a mentor and advisor at the Ossus Jedi Temple.

Cere Junda: Cal’s second master, gets in debates with Obi-Wan and Anakin. Forever grateful she lived long enough to new the Jedi born anew. Dies peacefully in 23 ABY. Tionne’s informal teacher and responsible for training new searchers.

-----Old Jedi who didn’t rejoin, yet still stayed close-----

Katooni Muwal: Lucky enough to have escaped Operation: Knightfall, unlucky to be the only escapee to have outlasted the Empire. She would find herself with her old friend Hondo Ohnaka, eventually becoming his right hand...up until she ousted him (he couldn’t be prouder). The Pirate Queen would eventually join the New Republic as a privateer against the Empire and the Yuuzhan Vong, and flirt with the idea, but never commit to, going straight, including trading an apprentice by the name of Sidon Ithano...

Oppo Rancisis: Laying low on the planet he was on during Order 66, by the time of the NJO’s foundation, had found a place in the re-established Church of the Whills, alongside people like Lor San Tekka. Would be a keystone member of the Great River underground refugee network during the YZV War, finally dying at peace on Zenoma Sekot in 32 ABY.

Barriss Offee: Jedi, Sith, healer, killer, damned, redeemed. Barriss’ journey has been a long and fraught one, and her journey to the Light has revealed ugly truths about herself. Yet she continues on, a wandering healer and holy woman, close with the NJO yet following her own path, her only desire to help the downtrodden and heal the sick.

Asajj Ventress: Ventress’ adventures during the reign of the Empire would remain unknown, but by 20 ABY, she would return to the valley of the Nightsisters, maintaining a solemn vigil over her dead people and exploring the Force. Such vigil would be broken, repeatedly, by members of the NJO, until she resigned herself to helping the next one before they began begging.

Mans hokeja aizraušanās pumpurs aizmetās tālajos agrajos 2000ajos, kad zelta sastāvs Irbe/Ozoliņš/Vītoliņš vēl spēja purināt Krievijas izlasi. Nesanāca. Bet tas nekas. Tagad hokeja skatīšanās vairāk saistās ar jokiem, kurš tad pēc Latvijas - Somijas spēles gulēs uz dīvāna. Patiesībā neviens. Mūsu attiecības neietekmē šādas triviālības, bet mēs izliekamies draugu dēļ. Bet nākošajā rītā pēc Somijas uzvaras pasaules čempionātā es lepna uzvilku savu Suomi džemperi, it kā man personīgi būtu bijusi kāda darīšana pie Leijonat uzvaras. Tā ir tik salda sajūta, beidzot būt uzvarētāju pusē, kaut vai tikai caur laulību. Neizlikšos, ka mani saista šis spēles skaistums, ātrums, adrenalīns, vai ka šī būtu ideālā spēle. Dažus gadus esmu bijusi arī futbola pusē, kas pēc savas dinamikas ir ļoti atšķirīga. Man tā noteikti nav pati spēle. Ne es pārzinu noteikumus, ne varu bez komentētāja vārdiem sekot līdzi spēlei. Bet es stundām varu vērot pašus spēlētājus. Protams, ka tas viss ir par vīriešiem. Viss tas bullšits par sportu kā mūsdienu karamākslu. Fizioloģiskā nosliece tiekties pēc stiprākā vīrieša, pēc tā, kurš pasargās, kurš pacīnīsies par tevi, pat ja tas būs tik nejēdzīgā viedā kā dzenāt ripu pa laukumu ar koka nūju, vēl slidojot. Komandas gars, kur visiem kopā jāstrādā pret pretinieku, un vēl visa tā kapteiņu padarīšana. Procesa brutalitāte arī pievieno zināmu seksapīlu, sišanās, cīnīšanās, pat lamāšanās (bet ne spļaudīšanās!), ja tā parasti notiek, aizstāvot kāda māti vai citu sieviešu kārtas radinieci. Tas viss ir tik primitīvi, fiziski, vīrišķīgi, spēcīgi, seksīgi. Bet tā ir tikai virspuse. Manas domas parasti klejo dziļāk. Kas, bez sviedriem, muskuļiem un ievainojumiem darās zem tām bruņām. Kā viņi pārdzīvo zaudējumu. Kā viņi izdzīvo pazemojumu, pieviltas cerības. Savas meistarības griestus. Ko nozīmē uzvarēt? Nesen lasīju interviju ar somu aizsargu Kimmo Timonenu, kurš tikko uzņemts Hokeja Slavas zālē: "However, with one Olympic silver medal, three Olympic bronze medals, and three World Championship silver medals, there’s one obvious omission from the Kuopio native’s IIHF resume. “The only bad memory is that I never won anything,” said Timonen". Tam grūti noticēt, bet ja paskatās uz sudraba medaļnieku sejām šajos turnīros, tur tieši tas arī ir rakstīts. Un manā seksīgo situāciju top 5 augstāk par "Es tev uzbūvēju māju" ir tikai sāpīgais, klusais skatiens "Es tikko zaudēju, mierini mani". Tur laikam ir darbiņš terapeitam, bet par šī skatiena iespaidu uz sevi esmu zinājusi kopš 7.klases tautas bumbas turnīra, un mūsu komandas zaudējuma,  un mūsu klases komandas Kapteiņa pēcspēles viesuļvētras ģērbtuvēs. Tātad, man patīk iedomāties lietas par hokejistiem, vai tas tagad ir skaidrs? Tāpēc es vienmēr meklēju nākošo labo romānu, kas piepildītu visas manas literārās, emocionālās, intelektuālās un protams, arī seksuālās vēlmes. Bet kā izrādas, tas ir neiespējami. Te nu beidzot sākas virsrakstā pieteiktā tēma. Pēdējo divu nedēļu laikā esmu izlasījusi 5 grāmatas, kuru galvenais varonis ir hokejists, un žanrs, pēc vāciņa spriežot, nepārprotami ir romantiskais sporta romāns. Kā to var zināt? Varasti uz vāka ir muskuļains, neapģērbts vīrietis, un kaut kur fonā ir nūja, slidas vai ripa. Pirmā lieta, ko es iemācījos: Ideālais romāns man būtu jāuzraksta pašai. Neviena no grāmatām nesatur visus ideālās grāmatas elementus. (Nesakiet, ka ideālās grāmatas neeksistē, tās nav lauleņi. Mēs katrs esam lasījuši pietiekami daudz grāmatu, lai vismaz dažas dēvētu par ideālām.) Manā rokasgrāmatā perfektam sporta romānam būtu jāpiedāvā: Galveno varoni - sportistu, kura tēls ir daudzslāņaināks par muskuļu kalnu ar lielu peni. Kurš ir kaut kas vairāk par alfahole, kas iezīmē savu teritoriju, atstājot kodumus uz sievietes kakla, vai kurš neliek sievietei pārģērbties, jo zem krekla var redzēt viņas krūšturi. Es saprotu, ka hokejistiem (un citiem ledus sportistiem) ir iespaidigākie dupši industrijā, bet vīrietis taču var būt kas vairāk par viņa muskuļiem. Rakstura īpašības, bez kurām cilvēks nevar būt veiksmīgs atlēts, laika ieguldījums, mērķtiecība, bet raksturu atšķirības, kad nāk ar dažādām pozīcijām. Mazliet paskatījos doķenes par Detroitas Red Wings un The Russian Five - tur jau vien ir 5 dažādi vīrieši, bet visi hokejisti. Nevajag rakstīt tikai par uzbrucējiem. Nelielu vai lielu ieskatu sporta aizkulisēs, visas tīrās un netīrās lietiņas. Tas nav gluži vienkārši darbs. Tas ir ļoti fizisks darbs, kas liek lielu slogu uz cilvēka ķermeni, un ak, kā es gribētu zināt, vai tiešām treneri neļauj sportistiem mīlēt savas partneres pirms spēlēm, lai taupītu spēkus, un vai tiešām pēc spēles vai treniņiem pietiek spēka jūs paši zināt kam? Izsistie zobi, savainotie locekļi, zilumi, nobrāzumi, piesvīdušās slidas, ātrais nobraukums, traumas, kas beidz karjeru. Viss sporta bizness, galu galā. Tur ir tik daudz iespēju, par kurām rakstīt, bet tikai viena no grāmatām tā mazliet pieskārās šiem aspektiem. Galvenais varonis, despotiska krieva dēls agri kļūst narkotiku atkarīgs, un visas grāmatas laikā iet cauri atlabšanas procesam, tikko svaigi no rehabilitācijas iestādes, tas bija interesanti. Bet vairums grāmatu tiešām pieturas pie hokeja tikai mārketinga vajadzībām. Varonis ir hokejists, jo viņam ir jābūt fiziski pievilcīgam, vēlams bagātam un populāram, bet tāds var būt jebkurš veiksmīgs vīrietis, no jebkuras industrijas. Un vai tiešām visiem romantiskajiem varoņiem obligāti jābūt sportiskiem, bagātiem, "veiksmīgiem"? Gaidu autoru izdomas pilnos izgājienus. Tātad, jebkurā sporta romānā = vairāk sporta. Es nezinu, kā tas vispār ir iespējams, bet tik daudzi autori aizmirst par elementārām jebkura romāna komponentēm. Kur ir konflikts? Kur ir likmes? Vismaz 3 grāmatām nebija nekādu īstu draudu varoņu attiecībām. Viens bija klasiskais "labākie draugi kopš bērnības", vēl viens "Viņa mani uzaicināja twitterī uz randiņu", kas ir sliktākais, kas šajās situācijās var notikt, un vai īstajā dzīvē kāds patiesi iespringst par šādiem pavērsieniem? "Manam  brālim nepatīk mans puisis", labi, brālim nav ar viņu jāguļ. "Viņa twitterī tikai pajokoja", bet atlidoja pie viņa uz Dallasu, tu vēl par kaut ko šaubies? Varbūt manas attiecības sākās pārāk vienkārši un neizbēgami, lai es iedomātos sevi šo skaisto, nepārliecināto cilvēku kurpēs. Seksa un sižeta proporcija. Te es iegrimstu dziļās domās par to, kas tad ir literārā pornogrāfija, un kur ir tā trauslā robeža. Es gribu tās kaislīgās lappuses, kas man liek uzmeklēt vīra kungu, es gribu to apmierinājumu, ko sniedz saldā apziņa, fantāzija, ka starp varoņiem gultā viss ir labi. Bet es gribu arī zināt, kas notiek starp varoņiem, kad viņiem nav sekss. Vai tur vispār ir attiecības? Jo es esmu pietiekami veca, lai zinātu, ka gultas departaments vien tevi neiznesīs cauri veiksmīgai laulībai. Un pat bez attiecībām, vai kaut kas vēl dzīvē notiek? Ir jābūt gan iekšējiem, gan ārējiem sižeta virzītājiem. Bez praktiskā  sižeta lasāmais tiešām ir porno, un tikai uzkurina tevi, bet ja tas ir porno, kāpēc apkaunot savu goodreads profilu, un vienkārši nepaskatīties porno? Garšvielas. Katru tekstu vajag pakaisīt ar kaut ko individuālu, kas atstās neaizmirstamo pēcgaršu, pat ja viss cits ir aizmirsies. Tā kā Eirovīzijas dziesmas kods, ir jābūt kādai fīčai, kādam āķim, kas dzīvos lasītāja prātā bez īres maksas. Tā var būt frāze, vai aina, kas nekur citur nav redzēta, bet tik labi te iederas, un savā prātā, tu to atkārto vēl un vēl.

Pārējās lietas, kuras es iemācījos no Hokeja romāniem, bet par kuru patiesumu man nav ne jausmas, jo tām autorēm nevar uzticēties: Hokejists + sieviete viņa hokeja kreklā, vēlams ar visu uzvārdu = afrodīziaks. Mums skolā mācīja, ka pirmā "lieta", uz kuras cilvēks uzlika savu īpašuma zīmi, bija bišu strops. Man domāt, ka tā drīzāk bija sieviete. Hokeja sievas un meitenes aka WAGs ir tik nejēdzīgs akronīms, kā viņas vispār atļaujas tā saukties. Vienai grāmatai piekrītu, ka Wives and Partners jeb WAPs būtu piemērotāks, iekļaujošāks, un sekojot grāmatu sižetiem ar nonstop erotiskājām ainām, Megan Thee Stalion un Kardi B dziesma viņām ļoti piestāvētu. Slikākais, kas ar vīriešiem sportā var notikt, ir kļūt no kokaīna atkarīgajiem, nu varbūt vēl salauzt kāju. Bet neviens nekad neizsit zobus, nesarauj saites, neizjūt smadzeņu satricinājumu neizgulēšanas sekas. Visiem hokejistiem ir bārda. Krieviem tā ataug ātrāk kā rietumniekiem. Visiem hokejistiem ir gigantiski locekļi (ne kājas), un tie netraucē slidot. Koledžas hokejisti ir totālākas maukas, un gulēs ar jebkuru. Līdz viņi ieraudzīs savu labāko draudzeni īsā topiņā, tad viņiem pietiks tikai ar šo pirmsskolas skolotāju. Ģimenē visi spēlē hokeju, bet tavs tēvs, brālis vai brāļa labākais draugs noteikti negrib, lai tu esi saejies ar hokejistu. Reālos NHL komandu nosaukums autori parasti nevar izmantot, tāpēc grāmatu līgā spēlē Vankūveras Vilki, Ņujorkas Stingeri, Portlendas Badžeri un citi zvēri. Nosaukumiem jābūt hokeja vārdu spēlēm, un dominējošais izmantotoais vārds ir Puck, kas tavu laimi, rhymes with f*ck. Latviski tas gan diez vai strādātu, bet tad mums būtu "Izšaibo mani", "Viņa ripa manos vārtos", "Karstais ledus", "Ripini līdz galam", "Trešais virknējums" (reverse harem), "Noasini manas slidas", "Aizsargs, kurš mani...", "Slidas nost!", "Rīgas Dinamīts". Pēdējā lieta, ko iemācījos, ir savu laiku ar šo žanru vairs netērēt. Tad jau labāk paskatīties hoķi, un pēc tam PHub.

Last book of the Force Heretics trilogy! All the plotlines are set up for the final two books of the New Jedi Order. Luke succeeds in his quest, only to have Zonama Sekot confront him in the guise of his father! Creepy to say the absolute least. Luke & Co. were searching for Zonama Sekot because it's a living, sentient planet. There are hints at it having some kind of connection to the Yuuzhan Vong, beyond several attacks upon itself by them. Which is my the Jedi are there. Zonama Sekot is now a major, important character for the remainder of the series.

Nom over-plays his hand in his plotting against the Yuuzhan Vong regime. He moved too quickly in the wrong directions. He got caught up in revenge on his former peers instead of keeping his eye on the proverbial pie.

Han and Leia deal with Yuuzhan Vong threats to communication in the Galactic Alliance. They encounter some weird life forms out on a rogue planet. It was very, very sci-fi of Williams and Dix. One of the more interesting things is Tahiri's internal struggle between her Jedi and Yuuzhan Vong selves. When Jaina tries to help her via the Force, she integrates her two selves. Thus becoming basically a whole new person. Well now wholly new, but radically changed.

This book gave a sense of water just before reaching a narrowing of the flow. The story is funneling together, speeding up for the end game. Which makes sense, obviously, two books left!
