Sea Monsters!
We had created them for real. The ones that were only imagined in fables, folklore, and films. Sea Monsters. That threatens all lives and all lands. It's high time we stopped the monsters from entering the sea. All that we do not need, do not belong to the waters. Stop the Monster. Stop, Monsters!
___________
Plastic waste makes up 80% of all marine pollution and around 8 to 10 million metric tons of plastic end in the ocean each year. Research states that, by 2050, plastic will likely outweigh all fish in the sea.
Currently, there are about 50-75 trillion pieces of plastic and microplastics in the ocean.
Plastic pollution in the ocean has a devastating impact on marine life and ecosystems. The most obvious one is the damage plastic items cause to animals when they come into contact with or ingest them, which includes suffocation, entanglement, laceration, infections, and internal injuries.
Harm to Human Beings: Plastic materials are carcinogenic and can affect the body’s endocrine system, causing developmental, neurological, reproductive, and immune disorders. Another health hazard is given by toxic contaminants that often accumulate on plastic’s surface, and are then transferred to humans through the consumption of seafood.
Climate Change: Plastic pollution and climate change are two sides of the same coin: plastic production, as it is created from fossil fuels, highly contributes to the climate crisis.

the first skateboard I ever painted - “Here First”. A board I painted in respect to the ever so patient indigenous communities that surround us in Australia and as a reminder to the white folk (cunts) of who was rightfully and wonderfully looking after this country before “they” came along.  PHOTOS TAKEN BY THE INCREDIBLE WARWICK GOW

Saving the planet by starting off by cutting this pop ring. I love turtles and leaving these pop rings the way they are isn't going to solve any problems. Stop garbage waste in the oceans, rivers, lakes, anywhere with a body of water. By cutting up a milk ring or pop ring, equals, saving one turtle's life. I'm just fine by drinking out of a metal straw. I'm getting tired of plastic. Sure enough it has it's uses, but I want to help save this planet. #recyleplease #nomorewasteintheoceans #saveaturtle #iloveturtles #cutpoprings #humankindsaddensme #savethisplanet #animalslivedherebeforewedid #nomoreplastic #lesscarbon #healtheworld #healtheozonelayer #actnow #saveoneliveandyousafethewholeworld (at Hillsdale, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIVzlP1AQqa/?igshid=1ud3cgp10h7mk

#Repost @wildaware @download.ins --- A new report published by the Changing Markets Foundation has shed light on the world's worst companies for plastic pollution. So who are the world's worst offenders for plastic packaging production and pollution? The report names Coca-Cola KO as the company with the biggest plastic footprint on the planet with 2.9 million metric tonnes of plastic packaging produced per year. Its biggest competitor, Pepsico PEP , comes second with 2.3 million metric tonnes while Nestlé is the third-worst offender with 1.7 million metric tonnes of plastic packaging produced. Five of the eight companies with the biggest plastic footprint are American with Nestlé (Switzerland), Danone (France) and Unilever (United Kingdom/Netherlands) the exceptions. The report only focused on companies that actually report levels of plastic packaging produced with Mondelēz and Perfetti Van Melle notably absent from that list. . . #wildaware #trash #litter #savethisplanet #plastic #trashplanet #trashtag #plasticocean #beachcleanup https://www.instagram.com/p/CFbDTXGBnOT/?igshid=1auuvo128xxia

9 people. 1 hour. 11 bags of plastic trash collected. It doesn’t take long to make a difference, however big or small. • This Earth Day some of our tour group with @gadventures went out and tried to do our part to help #savethisplanet from #plasticpollution! • Who’s next? Do something good for the planet this week, no matter what it is! Every little bit counts! . . . @gadventures @plasticpollutes @plastic_patrol @greenmatters @unfccc @plasticfreedom_ (at Red Island Indonesia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwls-lSAnpZ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1lv6zks4yufp5

#happyearthday🌎! Remember, there are whole civilizations that disappeared and we don't know much about them, but we found their artifacts. If we don't want the same thing to happen to us, we have to start living like we're in a #climatecrisis, because we are. I haven't owned a car for 14 years and I haven't eaten animal products for 13 years. What are you doing to help save this planet before we condemn future humans to extinction? #savetheplanet🌍 #earthday2021 Zarcero, Costa Rica. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #bohemiancostarica #zarcero #zarcerocostarica #costarica🇨🇷 #costaricagram #instacostarica #ig_costarica #govegan🌱 #earthdayeveryday #earthdayathome #climatechange #climateactionnow #humanextinction #savethisplanet #savetheearth🌎 #climatedisaster #climatechangeisreal (at Zarcero) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN-E6oEhWz_/?igshid=1h86p0a3fjns5

"Pears grown in Argentina, packed in Thailand and then sold in the United States." We believe that the geographical map is very explanatory of how much this system that we have created is definitely impacting the planet.Transporting a product for tens of thousands of kilometers means enormously increasing its impact on the environment in terms of CO2 emissions, then doing it to pack it in plastic is even more absurd. The best choice is always to buy local fruit and vegetables, in season and obviously loose. Do you agree? #wildaware #climatechange #savethisplanet https://www.instagram.com/p/CEDcLojl3g8/?igshid=13qx14v3iu866

Do you remember washing your car 20 years ago? Massive dragonflies and insects of all shapes and sizes splattered over the windscreen? The younger generations may not even know, but older people will surely remember that up until some 20 years ago any car trip on a late summers afternoon meant a windshield covered in dead insects. However, nowadays that doesn't happen so much, does it? It may sound great news—after all, who doesn't like to travel with a clean windshield? But what does it really mean? Doesn't that tell you anything? Scientists associate the dramatic decline in insect populations with industrial agricultural practices, especially habitat destruction and pesticide use. That decline, besides being a tragedy by iteslf, also affects the whole terrestrial ecosystems, such as the birds', reptiles' and amphibians' diet, pollination, etc. The collapse of the insect populations may be a forewarning of the collapse of the terrestrial ecosystems.. This is the critical decade for action in solidarity with life itself.

@warraniumenergy Month' 02... Reuse, Reduce, Recycle (3R') Most of the sustainable or green movements focus on three R’s; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. In general terms, it means to minimize the wastage, reuse the available resources to the maximum and recycle the waste. These three R’s are equally important in term of water. In today’s scenario, where water is becoming a global concern and the world sees a widespread drought shortly while some places are facing the drought in current situations, we need to follow the path of three R’s for the well being of our planet and our generations. #WarraniumEnergy #WECareForNext #Warranium #Energy #SaveTheEarth #Climate #NaturalResources #SaveThisPlanet #ClimateCrisis #RaiseAwareness #GlobalWarming #SaveNature #Month02 #SewageTreatmentPlant #EffluentTreatmentPlant #WaterTreatmentPlant #SaveWater #WaterWillSaveYou #Water #WaterIsLife #India #STP #WTP #ETP #DoNotWasteWater #Reduce #Reuse #Recycle #3R (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8IVvq5H5Dc/?igshid=hrfohjl25rkv

RIP PLANET - One of the original panels. Let's save THIS planet before we escape somewhere else. As far as I'm concerned all the beauty we need is right here. Exploring the Universe is a beautiful thing, but, just for a minute, let's divert all those trillions of dollars into fixing our home planet first. #saveTHISplanet https://www.instagram.com/p/B2zQ7VupXBd/?igshid=19o5cc99dyru2

#Repost from our conservation friends at... @wildaware @download.ins --- It’s videos like this that remind us how deeply humans’ are impacting our natural world… Aluminium drink cans contain toxic inks and are also lined with a very thin plastic exterior. Plastic contaminates our air, land, sea and can enter the human body through the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. “I’ve been around the block a few times and like to think I've seen it all, but this was a first for me and probably the most disturbing thing I've found in a fishes gut.” - @keefish84 We humans are both the cause of these problems, but also hold the key to the solutions.
