As a Gévaudan Lycan, June’s design is supposed to give off an unknowable and melancholy energy.

Gévaudan Lycans are mimics, and their emotions alter their form, especially if they have little to no control of themselves when they shift.

The way June was changed into a lycan and her experience during first shift were extremely traumatic, and over time, her lycan form reflected her feelings of loss and self-loathing. She fronts as this charming and confident woman, while holding back her deeper emotions that eventually leached into the form that reflects her true self.

Fear, sadness, loss, and rage all mixed into this one entity she cannot control. Once a month, she's forced into facing all of those emotions, reliving that trauma again and again for nearly 30 years.

#keese draws #rain world #rainworld #sliver of straw #consider my sliver more of an au than hc since I do a lot with them I wouldn’t do for an actual canon sliver #if we were to get a canon sliver characterization (which I wouldn’t want in the first place) I’d want smth Very different #with that disclaimer out of the way tho minor infodump time #my sliver is the youngest of her local iterator group along with being a fairly rare model #basically she’s built much more for efficiency and generally requires a lot less resources to power #this is largely because she doesn’t host a city like most iterators do and was made with the surrounding icy environment in mind #as a result she’s not nearly as environmentally destructive as most iterators #they’re not Not destructive mind you but generally their tundra like surroundings have stayed relatively in tact #they host a research facility atop their structure and was generally meant to aid in the research of the stationed scientists #because of this it interacted with far far less anchients than most iterators did and only did in professional environments #because of this far less effort was put into its puppet and vocal box with its voice being entirely flat #it still managed to manifest quite the strong personality however largely stitched from its local iterators #internally she’s quite the wreck being very emotionally unstable and desperate for attention #she has piss poor emotional intelligence however and as such tries to find very tangible ways to help the ppl she cares abt #this ultimately leads to a self distructive downward spiral as she clings to the idea of solving the great problem as the thing they need #and by they I mostly mean the eldest of her local group and their once close friend gaze from the stars #said friend was very very attached to her city citizens and as such took the mass ascension very poorly to put it lightly #and as stars became more bitter and isolated sliver became more desperate to fix this #leading to them diving deeper and deeper into their research and making stars feel more and more alone and betrayed #culminating I’m start cutting off her communications and sliver fully blocking out the rest their local group #until yknow. the whole tripple affirmative thing. #stars was still completely cut off leaving the rest of their group to watched in quiet horror alone as all the drama happened #they were a lot less close to sliver so they were in an awkward spot between not liking the idolization of sliver while also not quite #being able to comfortably point out how dehumanizing it all is given they hardly saw them as a person either before this #I’ll have to design my iterator ocs that are sliver’s group members soon I love them sm #they all kind of suck including sliver most distinctional family in existence

Got asked for my professional opinion today on a complex legal issue by a much senior coworker 😭🥺 on the basis of my response, i got asked to join in on a meeting with some higher ups to explain what I had explained to said coworker 😭🥺 I am going to get a good grade in Career and Being Smart, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve

So I'm watching this documentary on HBO called Savior Complex. It's very well executed. And I'm on the second episode and they are interviewing this girl's mother. The 'boss' mother of this organization. And they're talking about an employee who left after three months and she's saying I don't think its fair to say that her daughter was immoral or unethical. And the thing is. This woman, the daughter, has no medical training. Formal medical training. No idea how to diagnose, reevaluate, and administer proper medication. It doesn't matter if she has great moral standing and she's trying to help. It doesn't matter that she was taught how to put an I.V. in or how to measure arm measurements for malnutrition. She's playing with prescription medication that she has no training with. She's not a hospital and she's not upholding medical standards. What she's doing is unethical. She's causing harm where she's trying to do good. On a scale that wouldn't be possible if she didn't have the backing of evangelists within her church. What she's doing is wrong. It doesn't matter if she's doing it in the name of the Lord or from the goodness of her heart. She's actively taking part in dubious medical practices where she could have given the resources to trained professionals. She could have kept doing the basic treatment of housing and feeding individuals and then just taking them to the doctors. But she took it a step further where she had no basis of knowledge.

#look i took an ethics class and it was filled with nurses you need to take that course #this isnt like some herbal cure its highly volatile given in the wrong dose #she doesnt know what shes doing and its dangerous #and before when she was being interviewed the daughter shes saying of course i had a medical professional with me when i was doing these #things but they interviewed the medical professional that was listed with being with her and that nurse said she wasnt there #. . . i dont think they had a system of when someone entered their medical area.. . . probably wouldve helped a lot #im so angy and not even about the ethics #this is a much larger problem #and the documentary goes into it and theres a lot to talk about #but that instance really got under my skin #'but im doing good so obviously i cant be wrong' those words are so deadly

#i love my friend dearly and I'm glad I was able to help her out today #but i am woefully underqualified to truly assist with this legitimate hoarding situation #in terms of experience/technique #and psych knowledge #I'm glad she trusts me enough to let me in to help her. that is HUGE and it's not easy and I'm glad she feels safe with me to do that #but god it's really a lot #tbd probably #just still kind of reeling #and i hope we're able to find either a cleaner or counselor who can further assist #it is literally beyond my ability #i can help chip away but we need a professional in there as soon as shes able to handle it #again im glad that i am a Safe Person for her. It is miserable alone #we have enough shared trauma that she knows I'm not judging/i don't think any less of her/i don't see it as some sort of moral failing #i GET IT. anxiety and depression and ocd are fuckin hard and no one's fault and you just do the best you can #and sometimes your best still leaves you drowning #I'm diving in and bringing her arm floaties until a life raft can come
