You played any of the project x zone games? You don't seem to touch rpg's very often
It depends on how you define RPGs. I feel like I’ve played my fair share of them. I just don’t start them very often because they tend to last me forever when I really get hooked.
Like, I’ve played Skyrim for something like 180 hours over the course of six years and I don’t know if I’m even halfway through the main story quest. And because of that, I’m afraid of other games that are known to be long, like Xenoblade Chronicles.
I also tend to stay away from JRPGs because it feels like a growing number of them aren’t for me. They’re usually a little too anime. Like, I’ll probably never play an Atelier game. Or Neptunia. Or Code Vein.
But I look at, like, Ys? That’s a series I’ve always considered getting in to. I had an itch to (re)play Grandia II a few years ago that I never scratched. I’m always thinking of a good time to replay Chrono Trigger. And Earthbound. I’ve always been curious about the Tales games. And when I was trying to get footage of games that used to be incompatible on older versions of SNES9X for my Sonic 3 video, I played about 20 minutes of the SNES Star Ocean game and really liked it. I’ve wanted to get in to Skies of Arcadia.
The problem with Project X Zone is that not only is it very anime, it’s also a strategy game. It’s Super Robot Wars, but instead of mecha from Sunrise anime, it’s got Sega, Capcom and Namco game characters.
I don’t like strategy games. I have absolutely zero ability to plan ahead and mostly my tactics consist of “turtle up until I can steamroll the opposition.” The moment that fails, I get frustrated and give up.
For example, many many years ago, my cousin gave me his copy of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for the Nintendo DS. I was kind of starting to enjoy that game a little bit until I got to a mission where the enemy parked a unit on top of one of my factories. I attempted the mission twice, could not handle it, and quit the game permanently.
So, no. I’ve played a demo of Project X Zone, but never further than that.
