Hello!!! If you are still open to scenarios, could I ask how would RO's react if they were getting all hot and bothered with MC ready to do some horizontal tango, but before they start, they want to make sure that MC wants this too, so they ask something along the lines "Are you really sure you want to have sex?" and clueless MC is just like "sex?" tilts their head to the side, confused puppy style "What's sex?" xdd (i also had another version of this scene in my head, something like RO finally kissing MC, and MC not understanding how relationships work or what kissing means is like "What did you do?  Why? Are you hungry?? It was nice, but I wont let you eat me?!?!")

Would they throw their hands in frustration at how dumb MC is? Or start explaining about birds and bees? Or take a cold shower? xD

OMG, I just cracked up with this scenario 🤣🤣

I think Ace and Zodiac will both back away from the MC as if burned at first. As they are considerably older than the MC, they will be more concerned that the MC understands EVERYTHING so they can actually comprehend what they are consenting to. I think that both of them will be the best options to teach the MC the birds and the bees in a way that doesn't seem condescending. 

Stardom will first think that the MC is pulling their leg, but as realization sets in and the MC continues to look at them like a confused puppy, they will withdraw from the situation almost completely. The idea of them taking the MC's virginity is a HUGE deal for them.

Paladin would just freeze on the spot, not knowing what to do; the situation was already hard enough on its own, given Paladin's past experiences. Introducing a MC that doesn't have a clue about what being intimate with someone means... My guy/girl will need a few days to process it.

I think Archon would be the most level-headed of the team. They would be surprised, of course, but like most things, they would take it in stride, adapting to the unexpected situation rather quickly. It's safe to say that they wouldn't want to go any further if the MC wasn't comfortable with it or if they didn't know what sex meant 100%.

Wildcat would try their damn hardest to hold back and keep their hands from traveling where they shouldn't. They have zero experience with this kind of talk, and they never in a billion years thought they would have to explain to an adult what sex is, so please have patience while they freak out.

Mars, surprisingly, knows more than anyone about what the MC went through at the hands of the terrorists, so they already expected the MC to not know about some common things. There's a side to Mars that would surprise most people, but the MC gets to see it often, and that side is of a patient and caring person.

YESSS!! More Kreios+Thalia/Alim representation!! I like the dancer MCs, but I also equally love the scholar/fighter too!!

I think Alim-raised MCs would probably have an uncanny knowledge of many subjects, and they could probably show it off through a lot of politicking or maybe just having a keen awareness of Cusmo history! Having a great sense of history could come to play by maybe knowing a few old and forgotten passages here and there 👀

I always imagine Kreios+Thalia MCs to be very good with endurance and very easily learning to use new weapons. Also, I can imagine that Kreios and Thalia fight a bit differently from Cusmo locals since I think I recall them not originally being from Cusmo? That can be an interesting dynamic with an MC that takes a lot of inspiration from Kreios and Thalia’s fighting style!

I finished making yet another MC for the latest demo (a fighter this time) and I imagine them to be very mercenary-like. They got the sneakiness of a thief and the swordsmanship of a warrior; silver-armored individuals beware!

Sekh': I think they'd be the RO to feel most touched by this. They'd be flustered when MC says it out loud, but there is a careful longing in the way they behave afterwards. Leaning a bit towards MC, getting closer than they normally allow themselves to get to MC in public.

Because Sekh' only ever had their disgraced family name and nothing else. They don't belong anywhere, no one wants them, and they belong to no one because no one has wanted them as well - since now.

Cherena: Cherena preens and blushes and melts, almost in tears, if it's a day where their emotions are running a bit all over the place. Finally, they have something genuine. They aren't being used, like they are with their 'friends', they aren't being displayed like their grandparents do with them.

Cherena loves hearing MC call them part of the hoard, and they frequently daydream about being inside MC's hoard or nest with them, cocooned and happy.

Zaphia: Zaphia blinks, and they can hardly believe it at first. This is all they ever wanted. To be treasured so, and to be the most prized possession of their partner.

The though alone makes their body shudder and mind shake with soft delight. They look proud and properly content every time MC calls Zaphia that, especially in public.

What would you say are the main "themes" or "tropes" for every route? (poly routes too, if possible)

Arthur: arranged marriage (duh), extreme devotion (on both sides), destined love

Evaine: pining (mutual or one sided at first - by Evaine), healing from past relationships (Evaine), dealing with rumors (about Evaine, about MC, about both)

Yniol: slow burn, mutual protectiveness,

Morien: annoyances (affectionate) to lovers, strangers to lovers, recovery

Gwyar: forced proximity, confidant to lover, partners in crime

POLYS

Arthur/Gwyar: power dynamics (you know who has the most power - gwyar), power throuple

Arthur/Evaine: fluff and comfort, found family, gossip (both done by the poly, and done to the poly)

Yniol/Morien: healing from trauma, slow burn, taking care of each other, pining

Morien/Gwyar: 2 menaces and 1 cinnamon roll (roles are not fixed), heated arguments (with happy endings)

How would ROs react to a Mc who is off in their own little world just playing with the ROs' hand before slotting both their hands together and holding it, just looking happy with themselves and not noticing the ROs watching them?

Ace would have a hard time containing themselves tbh, over the sheer need to kiss the MC senseless and show them just how happy they are to be with someone like them. P.S. They would be more happy if the MC was playing with their prosthetic hand...

Stardom would most likely give the MC one of their signature grins that are known to make their fans faint on the spot, all white, perfect teeth and dimples, while whispering romantic lewd things into the MC's ears.

Paladin doesn't show much emotion on their face or through words, but you bet if they had a real tail, it would be wagging—no pun intended. They would look at the MC fondly while caressing the back of their hand with their thumb.

Zodiac is that kind of person that can't feel emotions quietly, so they would most likely start rambling about things they read recently or interesting things that they found during their days as an active archaeologist, all the while with a stupid smile on their face.

Archon is your aloof and stoic type of person, but also a really possessive lover, so they will grip MC's hand with both theirs, carefully to not crush it with their super-strength, and ask the MC about their day or what they learned from Zodiac classes.

Mars is much like Archon in a sense, but instead of being stoic and aloof, they are more like your dark, charming kind of villain, so they would first just stare at the MC and then gently guide their mouth to theirs by their chin.

Wildcat would have to contain their first instinct to shift into a ball of fur and curl up in the MC's arms, but if the MC wants that, they would be more than happy to oblige. If the MC listens carefully, they can hear a faint, purring sound coming from them.

Picture it anon. It's at the beginning of HAT's release. I've meticulously crafted my characters, their storylines, and the romances each will have. I've picked out names and surnames and houses. I thought that I had taken everything into account.

Except for one thing. The Polish language.

It's how I discovered that some of my earliest readers speak polish. Because here is this character who is supposed to be a fearsome opponent with the potential to turn into something more and what reaction did my polish audience have?

Hadrian likes love or, more recently, angel.

Alessa's go-to is darling one/ dearest one.

Alain likes to call you sparrow and, intimately, little pup.

Ysabella likes a bunch 😄. I feel like she'll call you everything under the sun — whatever she's feeling at the moment. But her most common ones are darling, used casually and beloved, whispered by your ear.

The Pirate King will call you peach. Depending on your temper, he may call you treasure or thunder. Alone, in your shared quarters, he calls you… other names.

Neia uses sweetling freely but, the more you spend time together, you realize she uses it less and less with other women. Deep in the romance, Neia calls you 'sun'.

Lance calls you mercenary — my mercenary, to you and only you. He'll call you many names in his songs, but one he likes to trace with his fingertips on your skin is Starlight.

Rafael… Rafael's pet names will range from idiot to freak to company dog. Over time, they start to sound less like insults and more like endearments. His 'idiot' sounds completely different when said to you than anyone else.

Once Rafael's defenses come down, and he admits to himself he likes you, Rafael calls you idiot still — but it's my idiot now. My love, my man/woman. Just as he's wholly yours.

Lieutenant Vallen will call you 'mine'.

Okay loving all these reactions to the update but I feel like we're kind of glossing over MC being Tobin's bi/pan/definitely-not-straight awakening??? My MC would short circuit if Tobin ever let that tidbit slip (and I assume Deepal wouldn't let either of them hear the end of it lmao)

Also love the way the romantic/romance adjacent scenes in this update can REALLY act as foils to each other depending on how they play out -

-Tobin's not even allowing themself a kiss (without MC's intervention) because they're still feeling the long term consequences of what they realized too late were short term affections for Felix, and they're going to be around MC too often to risk that

VS

-G and MC potentially making out in public, consequences be damned (sorry Jordan) and stealing another kiss for good luck before bed, all the while doing all they can not to think too hard about long term feelings becaue the short term is all they have.

or

-Rayyan's stubbornness and (temporary) inability to meet MC half way eventually paving the way for communication and understanding, which helps the progression of their newly established partnership

VS

-Sam all but tripping over themselves to not even meet halfway but to go all the way to MC themself, only to hesitate communicating their feelings out of fear of damaging their long-established partnership

Maybe I'm reading too much into things but it's really neat regardless of how intentional it was or wasn't :)

I LOVE THIS! I think you captured each of the main emotional tensions / conflicts (especially for this chapter / this particular moment) in each of the RO routes.

For both CT:OS and merry crisis, I always deliberately try to craft ROs and RO routes that differ from each other and symbolize different things for MC (and for the ROs themselves) in terms of "what would getting into this relationship mean, for MC / the RO).

Echoing what you said:

G for me is starting off with a very quick, almost instinctive attraction / gravitation towards MC (and being completely shameless about pursuing it—ain't no time to waste) but subsequently grappling with what it means for that initial pull to turn into something deeper and more long-lasting. It's about doubting if one's short-term attraction is enough to sustain a relationships that needs to transcend time and space and separate 'worlds'.

Tobin's path is about healing after a messy relationship/breakup, and starting afresh, and putting their tendency to overthink what other people might feel / think and also start fighting for what they want; it's also about exploring something different, something new—and about putting some skin in the game, and allowing someone else to be their refuge for a change.

Rayyan's route is about learning to temper their natural fiery passion with some extent of calmness, or learning to think before they leap, and also about inviting another person into their inner, trusted circle (where they let their walls down). It's also about striking a balance between being rivals on the tennis court, and potential lovers outside it.

Sam's route is about the transition into lovers (from friends), and acknowledging (then being honest about) their feelings, it's about being willing to try (even if it might mean failure), and the courage to go for what we want in life; (but more simply, it's also about long distance and how tough that is)

Carmen - I give her a 3/10 for angst levels. She's amazing.

Nicholas/Nadine - 4/10 for angst, although most of the time it's like -1/10.

Sadie/Spencer - ranges from 5/10 to 7/10, depending on what you do. very sweet route, but yknow. forbidden love!

Roman - ranges from 7/10 to 9/10, again, depending on what you do. the angst starts wayy early into the story, before you even meet the others.

Romance Travis if you want a grueling experience with very little communication. If you want to feel truly and genuinely hated prior to the reconciliation. Unlike J, Travis knows he can potentially hurt you. He knows you well enough to know and remember all your weaknesses, he knows how to exploit them, and he won't hesitate to do so—Travis is hurt enough he feels justified in all he says and does. If you endure Travis (regardless of a positive or negative reaction), romancing him means peeling off all his layers, slowly meeting again your old best friend.

Romance J&Kai if you want to dive headfirst into a complex web of emotions and attraction, if you're prepared to juggle the enigmatic J and the intense Kai. Both J and Kai have their quirks and challenges, and navigating their romantic dynamic is no easy feat. They're driven individuals who often clash, attempt to tear each other apart, and who will try to drag you along with them. It's about reconciling differences, and exploring the depths of your connection with both of them.

Romance Uma&Travis is like looking into a mirror of a past could have been. It’s about mending old wounds, embracing the beauty of art, and rediscovering the meaning of friendship. Uma, with their calming presence, provides a safe haven for all three of you, fostering genuine support and acceptance. While Travis may initially resist, this route is about peeling back the layers of his defenses and finding the camaraderie that was once shared in your close friendship.
