Any favourite fics?
That depends!
I admittedly haven't read a whole lot of bg3 fic, but like I mentioned in the last ask, I religiously read cheerysmores's stuff. I particularly like their Gale/Tav stuff--and it might be my Leo tendencies, but I can't help but LOVE this fic based on this piece I did 🤭 but seriously, any of their writing is tops. Their characterization of Gale is so. Good. And a lot of people seem to misunderstand him so it goes a long way for me (a trend you'll probably see in most of the following recs tbqh)
(Here's her AO3 btw)
If you're into like the Hunger Games which I've been reading, I love Roses and Pearls which is an everlark au. Really really good!
Ik I have some entrapdak fans that follow me, and there are SO MANY good entrapdak fics on ao3 that I'm having a hard time narrowing it down, but if I HAD to give specifics, Sweet Raptured Light by Mazen SO GOOD. If one-shots are more your style (when I'm in a fic mood, I typically binge, so that's why a few of these are multichapter) Infinite by midwesterosi. I love "Against the Current" which I cannot find for the life of me right now, so if anyone has the link, lemme know I'll see if I can add it to this post.
My favorite SanSan fic (which I realize is gonna be a rarer pair) is like an epic it's so long and it's so delicious because the agency the author gives Sansa is so refreshing. She's really QITN material, but I'm not sure if/when it will be updated--it's 58 chapters rn with over 500k words tho so if you like the long haul you'll be pretty satisfied. I've probably read it twice now tbqh. Northern Lights and Midnight Sun by Ownsariver
That's kind of my main ones, I'm super open to fic recs but I kind of have to be in a mood sometimes to really sit and read (usually horizontal days for me where my body can't physically sit up which happens more often than I'd like!) but a lot of the ones I've mentioned, if the author posts something new I'll flock to it IMMEDIATELY because I love their stuff so much.
I feel the need to remind ppl to leave kudos and comments but that might be preaching to the choir in this case!

Playing around with a child design for Ros. You can probably see the Samantha Parkington influence lol but it doesn't quite fit into the aesthetics of BG3 costuming, so it'll probably take another pass

hot artists don't gatekeep
I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

the youtube "stop drawing like this" community doesn't want you to know this but you can shade however you want forever btw. it doesn't have to make sense in fact you should actively be pissing people off with how inaccurate your light source is

You draw anatomy and faces so well, besides just doing studies was there any sources you found really helpful?
Thank you so much! I appreciate you saying that.
Studies and reference will always be helpful of course, and just drawing drawing drawing. But in terms of specific sources for getting better at them, hmm...
A site that I still go back to now and again when I'm feeling rusty is hitokaku, which is an old japanese site that shows you how to draw different parts of the body. Definitely recommend exploring that.
Manga Materials goes into some nitty gritty of anatomy in a really in depth way that can be overwhelming if you're just getting started but is really fascinating to look at. I follow them on patreon, but I think they might have notes available for free and stuff on their twitter or other socials.
Character Design References has pinterest boards just full full full of materials to look at. Less specifically anatomy practice, but there's some anatomy materials in there you can take a look at, but also just huge databases of character sheets and things too. I get lost in this place.
Anatomy360 is a great reference, they even have some free materials that I have used for muscle reference dozens of times
I also look thru adorkastock sometimes for poses or just plain old practice.
Also if you can get your hands on any of the Morpho anatomy books, I would recommend those in a heartbeat. I have like 5 of them. Their subjects range from general anatomy, simplifying forms, exaggerated muscles, how to draw fat folds--really great stuff, mostly made up of drawings. I have referred to these books *so* many times.
Anyway...apart from that, I look at a lot of images of athletes or bodybuilders (looking at specific sports gets you different body types, so it's fun to explore), I practice faces by having a sketchbook and trying to draw people in videos i'm watching (used to be at cafes but I don't do that as much w/ the pandemic and all that). Helps you capture shapes and likenesses better if you're trying to do it fast and symbolically, you learn what details make up a person's "look," it's a lot of fun.
This is what i can think of off the top of my head. Mostly I just draw a lot and practice and do my best ;~;

the darling Glaze “anti-ai” watermarking system is a grift that stole code/violated GPL license (that the creator admits to). It uses the same exact technology as Stable Diffusion. It’s not going to protect you from LORAs (smaller models that imitate a certain style, character, or concept)
An invisible watermark is never going to work. “De-glazing” training images is as easy as running it through a denoising upscaler. If someone really wanted to make a LORA of your art, Glaze and Nightshade are not going to stop them.
If you really want to protect your art from being used as positive training data, use a proper, obnoxious watermark, with your username/website, with “do not use” plastered everywhere. Then, at the very least, it’ll be used as a negative training image instead (telling the model “don’t imitate this”).
There is never a guarantee your art hasn’t been scraped and used to train a model. Training sets aren’t commonly public. Once you share your art online, you don’t know every person who has seen it, saved it, or drawn inspiration from it. Similarly, you can’t name every influence and inspiration that has affected your art.
I suggest that anti-AI art people get used to the fact that sharing art means letting go of the fear of being copied. Nothing is truly original. Artists have always copied each other, and now programmers copy artists.
Capitalists, meanwhile, are excited that they can pay less for “less labor”. Automation and technology is an excuse to undermine and cheapen human labor—if you work in the entertainment industry, it’s adapt AI, quicken your workflow, or lose your job because you’re less productive. This is not a new phenomenon.
You should be mad at management. You should unionize and demand that your labor is compensated fairly.

Please be aware that the "opt-out" choice is just a way to try to appease people. But Tumblr has not been transparent about when has data been sold and shared with AI companies, and there are sources that confirm that data has already been shared before the toggle was even provided to users.
Also, it seems to include data they should not have been able to give under any circumstance, including that of deactivated blogs, private messages and conversations, stuff from private blogs, and so on.
Do not believe that "AI companies will honor the "opt-out request retroactively". Once they've got their hands on your data (and they have), they won't be "honoring" an opt-out option retroactively. There is no way to confirm or deny what data do they have: The fact they are completely opaque on what do they currently "own" and have, means that they can do whatever they want with it. How can you prove they have your data if they don't give everyone free access to see what they've stolen already?
So, yeah, opt out of data sharing, but be aware that this isn't stopping anyone from taking your data. They already have been taking it, before you were given that option. Go and go to Tumblr's Suppport and leave your Feedback on this (politely, but firmly- not everyone in the company is responsible for this.)
Finally: Opt out is not good under any circumstance. Deactivated people can't opt out. People who have lost their passwords can't opt out. People who can't access internet or computers can't opt out. People who had their content reposted can't opt out. Dead people can't opt out. When DeviantArt released their AI image generator, saying that it wasn't trained on people who didn't consent to it, it was proven it could easily replicate the styles of people who had passed away, as seen here. So, yeah. AI companies cannot be trusted to have any sort of respect for people's data and content, because this entire thing is just a data laundering scheme.
Please do reblog for awareness.
