Where can I find Free Palestine protests and Ceasefire protests?

A super international and continually updated list of actions can be found at Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network's:

Calendar of Resistance for Palestine 2024

They list events by date, then alphabetically by country, then by city - and it's common for them to have dozens of actions listed for a single date, especially on the weekends.

The United States especially often has 40+ events on a single day, especially on the weekends.

Events are posted with links to the event info posted by whoever's hosting the vast majority of the time.

Look blow the read-more for a list of many of the countries that have been on this protest calendar, in alphabetical order, since I know so many websites/lists of actions are country-specific

Conservationists release largest group of zoo-bred Bellinger River snapping turtles after virus wipe-out

Nearly a decade after a virus nearly wiped out a population of turtles unique to northern New South Wales, researchers say its origins remain a mystery as a project to repopulate the species hits a major milestone. Now identified as the Bellinger River Virus, it triggered a mass mortality event in 2015 that decimated 90 per cent of the river's snapping turtle population within six weeks. At the time, the state government placed 16 healthy turtles into a zoo-based breeding program led by Taronga Zoo as part of the NSW government's Saving our Species program. Some 179 Bellinger River snapping turtles have since been released after the program started in 2018, with 97 turtles reintroduced into the river during December marking the largest group yet...

BRF Reading - 17th of February, 2024

This is speculation only

Cards drawn on the 17th of February, 2024

Question: How is the marriage of The Prince and Princess of Wales?

Note: As I shuffled and drew the cards, I felt a warm, giggling, bubbly energy, as if two people were flirting which each other. That was joined by a loving and protective energy, and those two energies stayed with me throughout this reading.

Interpretation: They have been through troubles together and it has made them stronger as a couple

Card One: The Ten of Wands

This is a card of burden, of seeing your dreams turn to ash around you, of victimization and betrayal. The energy of this card is very clear - it is of burdens faced together and the stresses placed on the marriage by facing those burdens together. At first I thought this might be Catherine's recent surgery, so I drew a clarifier for the card, and it was the High Priestess in reverse, which is secrets coming to light. It also speaks to me about hidden motives and feeling confused about what is going on.

This tells me that the Ten of Wands is referring to the situation with Harry. Both William and Catherine have been betrayed and victimised. They have carried the heavy burden of dealing with the Harkles while they were in the BRF and then dealing with the constant hatred and vitriol when the Harkles left the BRF. They must have spent time wondering why Harry was doing this to them and what his motives were, before it all became painfully clear.

The 'secrets coming to light' energy of the High Priestess in reverse tells me that there is something going on behind the scenes, and that something has also places stress on William and Catherine. I get the feeling that the stress is from horrible actions that have been revealed not just from Meghan, but also from Harry. The revealed secrets were so bad that it caused shock and confusion, a sense of 'I never thought he would do this' and 'did we ever really know this person'.

That sort of stress places a strain on a relationship. The good news is that the energy of the Ten of Wands is very much of them facing these burdens together. The strain has not driven them apart, instead it has strengthened their bond as they walk through these stressful days together.

Card Two: The Six of Wands

This is a card of success, achieving your goals, public recognition and a triumphant return. The energy of this card is of success and triumph, and it is ringing out through the reading. The marriage has survived the stress of the last five or so years and it is stronger than ever. The energy is of a marriage that is renewed, strong, thriving, that has regained everything that was temporarily misplaced during times of stress and that has found more to rejoice in as well. They have moved beyond being stressed by what the Harkles think or say about them. They are living for themselves and enjoying every minute of it. The dark clouds are gone and ahead is full of sunshine. It is a revitalised, happy, joyous energy, all the more joyous for the stress and sorrow that have preceded this stage. William and Catherine have come through their trials together and now they are enjoying every moment of their marriage and their lives.

Card Three: The Four of Swords in reverse

This is a card of recovering after a hard battle, of having had rest and healing and returning stronger than ever. One of the meanings of the Four of Swords is retiring from battle with a damaged reputation. When the card is reversed the wounds of the battle have healed, the damaged reputation is restored, and we go out into the world again full of vigour after our rest.

This is the energy of this card. Catherine and William are, of will be , refreshed from their rest, their passions are reignited, and they will go out into the world again. This card has a slight future energy to it - at the moment they are in the rest and refresh stage, and their passions are re-igniting, but soon they will return to the world, and their flame will burn bright for everyone to see. There is an energy of vindication here as well - they are going to be vindicated in the eyes of the world and any damage to their reputations will be restored. I think this is connected to the High Priestess in reverse as the clarifier for the Ten of Wands - secrets will come to light and in doing so any damage to their reputations will be shown as the slander/libel it is.

Underlying Energy: The Three of Wands

This is a card of expansion, of plans coming to fruition, of seeing your ships come in. It is also my card for the passing down of power in the BRF and the line of succession.

This card is giving me Prince and Princess of Wales energy. It tells me that William and Catherine have settled into their roles and their position is now a support to them, instead of something new that they are setting into. The settling in is done, the plans are clear, it is full steam ahead and watch the rewards come in. The energy speaks of a confidence in their roles that comes from having done the job for a while and knowing what it is about. It is no longer a new job, but instead it is a part of their working life, and they can draw support from that as everything is going as it should be and they don't have to worry about it.

Major Suit: Wands. Not in their PR aspect, but in their passionate, creative, life-is-an-adventure-and-isn't-it-exciting aspect. New ideas, new projects (maybe), and a new passion for life and each other,

Conclusion:

The marriage of The Prince and Princess of Wales has been under a lot of stress and pressure for the last 5-6 years. They have supported each other through this time and stood together against their troubles. Now they are reaping the rewards of that behaviour - a marriage that is renewed and stronger than ever, a rekindling of passions, and a clear future ahead of them.

WORTH A LOOK?: *****

WHEN?: Saturday 24 February, opens 6 March and runs through 11 May 2024 RUNTIME: 160 minutes (including a 20-minute interval)

A grieving son wraps his dying miner father in his arms, apologises for everything he could have done better to look after him and vows to make good by helping others.

The son is Aneurin ‘Nye’ Bevan, the Labour politician and founder of the National Health Service on 5 July 1945, and Nye is the warts-and-all story of the man who would improve the health of countless millions of us and how he did it.

Nye died almost 15 years to the day he founded the NHS from stomach cancer and the conceit here is that he’s in hospital at the end of his life having a fever dream and wanders, pink pyjama-clad, through moments of importance.

Reading the article by former Labour leader Neil Kinnock in the programme about Bevan we discover his education was cut short at 13 when he followed his miner father down the pits to work in 1910.

In an almost reverse of film Dead Poets Society we meet the bullying schoolteacher who would cane a young Nye because of his speech impediment, the classmates who would protect him and the very Manic Street Preachers-like realisation that free libraries could give him the power to overcome his stammer by finding alternative words to those he could not utter.

Riffing on Dennis Potter’s Singing Detective Sheen’s Nye even sings Judy Garland’s Get Happy at 1 point as he and his miner colleagues use the time unemployment has afforded them to bone up on the way their home town of Tredegar in Wales is run and get themselves elected onto the boards of the bodies involved to finally do good by its people.

From our 4th row seats we see director Rufus Norris, also outgoing artistic director and chief executive of the National Theatre, tread the boards at the beginning of this 1st preview to remind us as such there might have to be a pause in proceedings because of the freshness of the material but perhaps 1 of the reasons its star Sheen is beaming so much during the curtain call (see picture below) is because it all actually went so well.

The action is staged as if in a hospital ward for much of the time with beds on wheels used to great effect and curtains around beds featuring prominently and at 1 point, rather brilliantly, lowering to become rows of seats in Parliament.

Tony Jayawardena (Marjorie Prime, Menier) is quite brilliant as Nye’s nemesis Winston Churchill, a man who succeeds in doing what Labour were unable to by uniting all classes in opposition to world war.

Sharon Small (Good, Harold Pinter Theatre) is more than a match for a revelatory performance by Sheen, at 1 point seemingly channelling the boyish enthusiasm of a young Declan Donnelly from Ant and Dec, as she explains the sacrifices she made to support her husband.

There’s a lot of injustice to make the audience angry here and there’s some terrific political theatre in London at the moment to both challenge the mind and make the heart soar – An Enemy Of The People and Standing At The Sky’s Edge for example.

Like the outstanding Dear England, this is an example of a venue at the top of its game doing exactly what it should be doing in offering insight into stories of those who have shaped our country and influenced the people we have become.

Harry is clearly overstepping his bounds, and a threat to the monarchy. And note how quickly BP responded. Harry and Meghan do a lot of stupid stuff but this was a first for Harry clearly overstepping his authority and putting the monarchy in a sticky situation. On Jan. 19, The Charity Commission, charity regulator for England and Wales, issued a second official warning to One Young World over breaches of trust. The first warning came in 2022. My Top Stories for 2023!

In case you missed ’em: these were my most popular works of fiction and non-fiction of the year!

It’s very nearly 2024, and it’s been a big year for me!

I’ve published so many short stories and new essays, I had a great time at EasterCon and BristolCon, and have published pieces with several new (for me!) publications on top of moving into my new apartment. I’m now based in Yorkshire instead of Ireland, and that means I’ll be attending a bunch more conventions and other events across Wales, Scotland, and England as well as still going back to Ireland from time to time.

My goal for 2024 is for 40% of my reads to be nonfiction. I've had two years within the recent past where I managed 20% of my reads to be nonfiction, so I'm aiming to double that. THIS WILL BE HARD FOR ME! Not because I don't enjoy nonfiction but because I enjoy fiction a lot more and have a lot more practice reading it. Haha Also for me, I am in circles where I'm just going to have more awareness of fictional books that I'm likely to enjoy more so than nonfiction. Question: What does King Charles think about Catherine, The Princess of Wales?

Note: I asked for three cards, one for her as a person, one for her popularity, and one for her as the wife of his son.

What Does King Charles think of Catherine as a person?

Card One: Justice reversed

This card tells me that The King thinks Catherine is unjust towards him and towards other people and that she judges them unfairly.

The energy of this card is about what The King thinks of as part of diplomacy - little (to him) concessions that make everything smoother, and that Catherine will not make these concessions. An example that comes to mind is Catherine doing something just for PR/optics. We know from reports from her staff that she will not do this. The King thinks this is unfair and that she should do something just for PR if it makes him/the monarchy look better, He also feels, rightly or wrongly, that she judges people for making those "concessions".

I think that Princess Catherine's strong moral stance on this issue and other issues makes The King feel uncomfortable, and so he thinks she is judging him (and his wife), when all Princess Catherine is doing is staying true to her values.

What does King Charles think about the popularity of Princess Catherine?

Card Two: The Star

The Star can be a card of dreams coming true, and her popularity is a dream come true for The King. It is what he wanted for himself and never achieved, and now he sees that dream being achieved by another person. He would revel in said popularity and I think he suspects Princess Catherine of doing the same, even when she clearly does not do so, as he is applying his own behaviour to her.

He is very aware that Princess Catherine is a star of the BRF and I don't think he altogether likes this. The picture on the card is of Pandora opening the box and unleashing all the evils upon the world, and I think that The King feels that the popularity of Princess Catherine has created a lot of evils for the BRF.

The energy of this card is not of someone delighting in the success of another person. There is nothing of that coming from the card. The energy I am getting is more of an "Oh dear. Well, I can work with this, but it creates issues and I would rather it had not happened" energy.

How does King Charles feel about Princess Catherine as the wife of his son, Prince William?

Card Three: The Four of Wands

This is a card of home, weddings, and celebration. The energy from this card is 100% approval and support. The King approves of Princess Catherine as the wife of his son. He likes how she has made a home for his son and he likes how she is bringing up his grandsons. He approves of their marriage and he approves of her role as wife/mother/homemaker. I get the feeling that he would be happier if she confined her role to that of wife and mother and did not do any of her other work and only appeared as a wife on the big occasions (Trooping the Colour, Christmas Walk etc). I think that The King feels that being a mother and supporting her husband is an appropriate role for Princess Catherine. There is an "if only she would stick to this" energy about this card.

Underlying Energy: The Nine of Cups

This is the energy that underlies the three cups above. It is a card of emotional satisfaction and luxury, success, recognition, and pleasure. The energy from this card is that King Charles thinks that Princess Catherine hit the jackpot by marrying his son. He thinks she should be very happy with her position and content with what is offered to her by the blood royals, whatever that might be.

Bonus Question: Does King Charles like Princess Catherine?

Card Four: Judgement in reverse

After I had pulled the cards for this reading, I shuffled again and asked if The King liked Princess Catherine as a person overall. Judgement reversed tells me that he does not like her as a person. Judgement is the card of Pluto, the ruling planet of Scorpio, so it can represent King Charles as he is a sun sign Scorpio, and in the reverse it says No in answer to my question. He does not like her.

This card can represent second chances and in the reverse it says that The King is not prepared to give her a second chance. I think that in the past she may have done something to upset him or made him feel bad by her moral standards, and he decided then that he did not like her and he is not going to change his mind.

This card in reverse can also represent blaming someone else for your mistakes, and I think that The King might blame Princess Catherine (and Prince William) for things that have happened to him in the past. The energy I am getting is that they said something that the late Queen listened to and approved, and as a result The King did not get his own way with respect to the issue at hand.

Conclusion:

The King might enjoy talking to Princess Catherine, and he certainly approves of her as a wife and mother, but if you asked him if he liked her the honest answer would be No. The energy I am getting is that he resents her and her popularity, her firm stance on certain things (like doing things just for the optics) makes him feel uncomfortable and makes him feel judged, and that he blames her for things that have happened to him and/or for him not getting his own way over some past issues.

EDIT: I want to add in here that I don't think that The King hates Princess Catherine or anything like that. In fact, I think he quite enjoys her company. I do think that her firm values make him uncomfortable at times, that he envies her popularity (even if he won't admit that to himself), and that he would be happier if she remained at home and was only trotted out for the big occasions. I also think that she may have refused to go along with something 'for optics' in the past, and that has upset The King. I do think that the King is classist towards her? - thinks he is better than her because he is royal and so she should gratefully accept whatever attention/honours/anything else he gives her - but I think The King is like that with everyone except other royals as well.
