Coming 2024 - New Fiction Podcast!
Oh hiiiii tumblr. We're fashionably late to the party in our announcement here - but hi!
Camlann is a new post-apocalyptic, urban fantasy scripted fiction podcast inspired by British folklore and Arthuriana. Alternatively, it's about three idiots and their dog, surviving the apocalypse in a small cottage in Wales. It's full of queer, trans characters and made by a queer, trans, disabled production team. We're really excited about it! The show is written by Ella Watts (hi!) and produced by @tincanaudio
We'll be sharing more soon as we get closer to release, but in the mean time, our ask box is open. It's nice to meet you all!

[Image ID: A hazy golden mist over brown, sparsely tree-covered mountains. Block white capitals read the title, 'Camlann', with smaller text reading: 'Coming 2024' and 'A scripted fiction podcast by Ella Watts, from Tin Can Audio'. In the bottom right is the Tin Can Audio logo, which looks like a simplified mixer.]

Pssst... Hey, you wanna hear some cool tunes? Well, great news for ear-havers - the amazing Dev over at @tincanaudio is putting together a soundtrack for PITCRAWLER, inspired by our 10-adventure starter campaign “A Pitcrawler’s Progress”.
They’re streaming the creation over at twitch.tv/tincanaudio every Monday, and the VOD for the first one “Attack of the Sea Beast” is now up and sounds sick as hell.
Oh, and if you don’t fully understand why you should be excited, check out the tune they put together for our Crowdfunding campaign last year!
youtube
And if that doesn’t get you excited for a musical quest into prog rock and dungeon synth, then... that’s a shame. Go do something else, I guess. I’ll be over here ROCKING OUT!

✨Travelling Light - Episode 14✨
Tumblr media
Tsabec makes an example of a new discovery; and the Traveller enjoys the rest of their day out…
Subscribe now Spotify, Apple Podcasts or your podcatcher of choice 🚀✨ Full transcript available here.
Travelling Light is a science fantasy podcast that follows the Traveller as they explore their galaxy, collecting stories from the people they meet and adding them to their community archives.
Every week our artist Matt McDyre (@diabeticspoon92) illustrates the episode’s archive entry, shown above. This is our first illustration showing the character Tsabec, aren't they adorable?!
This week's entry was based on one of my own ideas. But my ideas are few and far between, so I need to hear yours! Send them to us via the Submissions page, by email, or through monstrousproductions.org ✨
I am absolutely delighted to share this week's trailer from @camlannpod, a fantastic new show from @tincanaudio that reimagines Arthurian legend with a modern, queer lens.
I am so obsessed with this show, I can't even tell you. Do yourselves a massive favour and give it a listen, it is SO worth it - and very appropriate for St David's Day! Find it wherever you get your pods, or visit their website to learn more.
If you're loving Travelling Light please help us get the word out about it! We're totally dependent on word of mouth to help grow our audience and every post, every review, ever recommendation really does make a difference.
You know what also makes a difference? Cold hard cash! Make a one-off donation or a monthly pledge at ko-fi.com/monstrousproductions to help us keep the lights on here at Monstrous HQ💸 And I mean that literally - we use the podcast money to pay our electric 😅💡
🚀✨ See you next Friday! ✨🚀

after some people drew comparisons between my stuff and the podcast series The Tower, I checked it out, binged the whole thing in two days, and yessss that is fully my jam. reminiscent of Ted Chiang's Tower Of Babylon which is one of my favourite short stories of all time.
really makes me want to go back to the narrative podcast idea I was kicking around a couple of years ago. hmmm.

The audio note: [there is uproar, some kind of spooky building crunchy noises? The letterbox starts flapping again, the sounds of many letters flying in all at once. So many letters.]
The audio:
Video description: David Devereux is sitting in front of a mic with headphones on. They have a blank stare. They slowly raise a handful of envelopes to the mic and start flapping aggressively, until all the envelopes have either fallen to the ground or torn. They start laughing.
Want to hear more of Dev's brilliant sound design? Episode 1 of the second season of Folxlore is out now!

Tin Can Audio ( @tincanaudio ) made an audio drama based on my TTRPG, Anamnesis!
It's a 5 part miniseries and the entire thing is already out. I also recorded a couple lines for it!
Check it out on Bandcamp or on the Tin Can Audio podcast feed.

Started listening to tin can audio and it's delightful. Really love the repeated "bad things will happen" and that Sans the cat is voiced by a person.

Listen, I understand that RQ is a company and companies have to keep making money, which includes marketing that works. I also understand that with the rise of booktok, trope-based media marketing works. That being said, it still pains me to hear the Trice Forgotten ads putting heavy emphasis on the "found family adventure" aspect of the show like it's a paperback with a Canva cover instead of things people in the podcast community I know value like the audio engineering, plot, tone, genre, etc. The show's description on streaming sites is genuinely a better pitch for it, and at least the first few episodes are great, but I only figured that out once I was desperate enough to look past the atrocious marketing.

T is for @tincanaudio's The Tower!
In this experimental series, we follow Kiri, as she climbs an ancient and impossibly high tower. She has chosen to leave her life in the city below, and as she climbs higher into the sky, she calls some of the people close to her.
Part III of The Tower has recently been released.
