Took my blood sugar for the first time yesterday, it was when I felt I was crashing. I never felt so validated in my entire life I dropped to 53 and everyone kept telling me I was in my head and that it was emotional shutdown. I figured it out I knew I had low blood sugar and no one believed me until they finally did on monday when the doctor said it. But I knew for so long.
Point is you can’t just continue to blame emotional issues for “shutting down” if u feel something is wrong only you know the difference. You know yourself better than anyone! I don’t care how much school they went through. STICK TO YOUR GUT!
There are a lot of components though now that we have figured this out that won’t work for me like cutting out carbs so we have been working with the ED doctor to figure out how best to handle this.

A sugar crash, also known as a "sugar low" or "sugar comedown," medically known as “hypoglycemia” refers to the phenomenon of experiencing a sudden drop in blood sugar levels after a rapid rise caused by the consumption of high-sugar or high-carbohydrate foods. It is the opposite effect of a sugar rush.
What Causes Sugar Crash (Reactive Hypoglycemia)?
Some of the common causes of sugar crashes in people having unbalanced diets or taking too much insulin in their daily life.
Medication: Diabetes drugs, which are used to reduce blood sugar levels, may cause hypoglycemia if taken in excess.
Not Enough Carbs: Eating fewer carbohydrates than normal without decreasing insulin consumption can contribute to hypoglycemia.
During Stomach surgery, which makes food passes to quickly into the small intestine.
Exercises: During exercises, the body uses glucose faster. Having low carbs or too much insulin cause a blood sugar crash.

Today I learned i can no longer eat red velvet cupcakes and/or potentially raw cupcake batter. Jury is still out on which one it is.
As I lie very still for the third hour in a row lest I upset the delicate imbalance of my gastrointestinal system and cause a body wide riot again 🫠

Comorbidities are like cracks in a foundation. One crack (the root condition/first diagnosis) causes more stress to be placed upon the other parts of the structure (the body). Over time, this pressure causes more cracks to form. These are the comorbidities.
Disabled people often have more than one condition contributing to our overall health. In a lot of cases, these conditions play off one another and create a feedback loop within the body.
My gastroparesis makes me really susceptible to malnutrition and dehydration, and my autoimmune diseases make me temperature sensitive. These are triggers for my dysautonomia, which in turn ends up dropping my blood sugar via reactive hypoglycemia, which is then made worse by the medication I take for my PCOS.
Able-bodied people may see someone like me and think there's just "too much going on" to be sustainable, or they don't believe me at all. Disabled/chronically ill people hear that symptom progression and they Get it.

Fascinating things I’ve heard from the doctors I went to:
1/ Painful periods are from eating McDonald’s (even if you do it like once a month, you’re done)
2/ The best source of medical knowledge is Ordo Medicus (which is a part od Ordo Iuris - ultra conservative catholic legal organizations that is anti LGBT, anti abortion and anti divorces)
3/ All my medical problems are because of covid vaccines (even tho I had those problems long before covid)
4/ When your hair falls like crazy you don’t need the blood check, just take some biotin
5/ I’m a woman so I’m overracting and if I say something hurts, I probably do it for attention
✨And a little conversation I had✨
D: So you have reactive hypoglycemia
Angie: yeah
D: And you probably don’t have a good diet?
Angie: I actually have a good diet.
D: you eat vegetables?
A: Yeah, a lot
D: baked probably
A: No, I don’t like baked veg…
D: Baked vegetables are high in sugar
A: I know, but I don’t..
D: And if you eat them a lot, you eat a lot of sugar
A: yeah, but I really hate baked vegetables so I don’t…
D: So if you eat a lot of sugar from baked vegetables, that’s why you have glucose problems.

The Must Have Tools for the Low Carb Baker
Hello lovelies I thought I’d share this informative lil article on baking and the author talks about her favourite kitchen gadgets. Not your usual electric blender, mixer, small appliances such as a pasty or breadmaker. But it’s the everyday items that you wouldn’t be without.. I have a few of the items on the list and there’s a few I will save up and buy as I like the look of the baking mats…
