im still thinking about the post i wrote about villain teaming up with the heroes and converting hero's teammates effortlessly through nothing but the demonstration of their sheer power. and i have an addition.

through working together, everyone quickly realises how much more ruthless villain is when not fighting them. and they come to the horrifying conclusion that this beast of a person who has been terrorising them for ages and giving them so many injuries and nightmares is holding back whenever fighting them.

i used to be a bit conscious about having so many girls/fem characters in my works (starsaints carnival is the only developed story right now that doesn't have a female protagonist, and most of the time i have to actively go out of my way to make male characters) but you know what fuck it i like girls so i'm gonna write girls goddammit!!!

The Sokovia Accords will force all enchanted people to register and be monitored by the government. Not only would the enchanted person's name be written down but most likely their power and how to restrain or weaken them if needed.

This means that a government person can easily take the list and sell it to individual people or force an enchanted person to do things for them. The list can also be leaked on purpose or by accident and a bunch of enchanted people would be put in danger by both the public and people who would like to use them.

This is a big problem for the Vigilantes who hide their identities to keep their families and loved ones safe. The civilians who have been minding their own business and probably don't have any experience fighting.

It's especially a problem for Danny, as he never had to keep his identity a secret from his ghost villains, he keeps his identity from the humans that could what to recreate his accident to gain power.

I feel like a lot is missed in translation with sukuna because every time I see analysis on the original writing (in Japanese) with him, it’s always something really interesting

I want a child villain who was framed as a villain by the government by refusing to become an experiment or a hero because of the powers they have that they themselves are scared of and they’re already going through enough bs that they wouldn’t be able to handle it! VERSE DROP ! VILLAIN AU.

this is a failed mirror verse idea that i couldn't bring to fruition since it didn't consider ALL others characters are also as mirrored as Jim would be, but i'll go ahead and make this a separate, au verse in case anyone wants to write conflict based threads. this is a what if scenario based on the following taking place : in AOS Into Darkness, the scene in which Jim tries to have admiral Marcus spare the lives of his crew and offers himself as the sole responsible party. instead of admitting to his intentions of destroying the Enterprise, he actually does bring Jim ( subsequently Khan along with him ) aboard USS Vengeance as prisoners. Scotty never makes it on time to reach the crew, and in the fight that ensues, the Enterprise along with Khan's people are completely destroyed. the pain of losing his entire crew changes Jim to the point he joins Khan on a shared quest to destroy the entirety of Starfleet. what Marcus does makes him question the integrity of the Federation and in the agony of his anger and rage, he agrees to be genetically modified / engineered in a Khan-like fashion at the first chance they get. eventually, they do destroy Starfleet, but it is not enough. the further enhancements applied to them both elongate their lifespan, strengthen their bodies, and slow down their aging significantly. it takes them a few centuries to bring down the Federation. just like it happens on the mirror verse episode of TOS, this Kirk is thrown into the regular st universe ( centuries back, yay for time displacement also for my convenience ) as we know it where Starfleet still exists via a displacement occurring during an ion type magnetic storm. when the transporter malfunctions, the villain Kirk finds himself aboard the Enterprise with his crew that he had lost centuries ago STILL ALIVE. he refuses to leave, taking on a quest to destroy Starfleet in this universe as well before looking for a way to return to his own.

i’ve started to really dislike stories where the stakes are really expansive. ofc a story needs stakes but i think i’m really over “saving the world” stakes, i’m not interested in global or universal consequences. i’m only interested in stories that remain at the personal and interpersonal levels (whether those stakes are really high — life or death; or really low — whether or not a character can wake up the next day and feel okay about themselves, whether or not two characters can maintain a relationship)

#this isn’t necessarily an indictment on stories where the whole world is at stake #but i do think it makes it harder for audiences to suspend their disbelief and easier to write overpowered characters accidentally #or have to pull a deus ex machina or some other contrived solution #and depending on the length of the story lead to villain decay and jumping the shark (like stranger things. for example) #ofc it’s a convention of certain genres but even then it’s like…. well idk #do you need to save The Galaxy can’t you just save new york or whatever like spiderman
