In a lot of iterations of TMNT Leonardo always seems to have a strong moral compass & the same possibly seems true for Leo in Rise as well as he often seems mindful of the safety of civilians

Raph: Alright you incredibly, unusually buff book worm! Give us the little guy and you’ll walk out of here with your horns still attached

Leo: Shouldn’t we also stop him from creating crab men?

Leo: I say we revise Raph’s plan to make sure this guy doesn’t get mutated

Leo: Hey April, cool if you don’t, but do you still have that Orb with all the people of New York in it?

Leo has often expressed concern for the wellbeing of strangers throughout the series, when April & the Turtles first encountered Draxum it was Leo who said that they should stop Draxum from mutating people & Leo later actively tries to stop the soon to be Bull Hop from getting mutated in Bug Busters.

In the episode Anatawa Hitorijanai, Leo is also the one that expresses concern over the fate of the people of New York even though the family already has a lot to deal with, with the Shredder.

However in contrast to how Leo is arguably one of the most mindful of the safety of strangers he also seems as though he’s arguably the most unsympathetic towards villains when compared to the rest of his family

Mikey: We haven’t found the armour and we can’t leave him to get eaten

Leo: Oh great, we get to save the guy who once repoed a birthday cake

April: We’ve gotta help him get his friend/ roomie/ it’s complicated back from Baron Draxum! It’s my Birthday Wish!

Leo: You’re invoking B-Day right on him!

Donnie: Ah a moral quandary, do we give the antidote to the villain or-

Leo: Poison? Antidote? Everything he makes is delicious!

While Leo is often concerned with the safety of strangers whenever one of the Turtle’s villains are in need of help, Leo typically seems as though he’s the one most opposed to the idea of helping one of their enemies which can be seen when Leo was reluctant to save Repo in the episode One Man’s Junk or when he expressed disbelief over April wanting to help Warren save Hypno in the episode Warren and Hypno, Sitting in a Tree.

In the episode Pizza Puffs Leo also demonstrated his reluctance to help villains when he decided to use the remaining antidote to eat more pizza puffs over giving the last of the antidote to Meat Sweats

At first glance it would seem as though Leo has some sort of ‘black & white’ view on morality where he prioritises the safety of ‘innocent people’ but is unsympathetic towards enemies or evil doers however it’s shown that Leo is not always against helping former enemies.

Leo: You can’t just kick out your untrustworthy criminal brother, he’s family. So whaddya need skin man?

In the episode The Hidden City Job Leo is the one that pushes Señor Hueso to help Capitán Piel even though the last time they saw each other, Leo was actively fighting Piel’s pirate crew, Leo wanting to help Piel seems to go against the idea that Leo is unsympathetic towards enemies which leads to the question on what makes the situation with Piel different than the other situations where one of the Turtles enemies have needed help?

Leo: Wait! I know a brother squabble when I see one and there’s no one better to un-squabble you than moi

Señor Hueso: Aren’t you here because you had a fight with your brother?

The first reason that Leo might be more sympathetic to Piel than he is with other villains is because Piel needed help mending his relationship with his brother Señor Hueso.

It’s been shown time & time that family is incredibly important to Leo so it could be possible that Leo simply cannot stand the idea of family fighting which made him more inclined to help Piel, it’s also worth noting that during the episode The Hidden City Job, Leo had recently gotten into an argument with Donnie, so Leo might be projecting his argument with his own brother onto Piel & Hueso.

Leo: I freed you from your pirate prison. Your welcome.

Raph: Pirate prison?

Mikey: You portalled us to Tahiti!

The second reason on why Leo might have been more sympathetic towards helping Piel than he is with other villains is that Piel had never actively tried to harm Leo’s brothers.

In the episode Portal Jacked the reason Leo was fighting Capitán Piel’s crew in the first place was that Leo had thought that the pirates had kidnapped his brothers which turned out not to be the case as instead Raph, Donnie & Mikey had been in Tahiti during the events of the episode meaning it’s possible that Leo doesn’t hold the same animosity towards Piel that he would with other villains as Piel hasn’t gone out of his way to bring harm to Leo’s family the way other villains have

So rather than Leo having some sort of ‘black & white’ view on morality where he prioritises the safety of ‘innocent people’ but is unsympathetic towards enemies or evil doers it’s more likely that Leo has the mindset where he wants to protect people but is unsympathetic towards those that have tried to harm his family.

DONNIE

- Donnie’s affection, like most things, is mostly led with his head.

- He like usually rests his head on his partners shoulder when he’s tired

- He enjoys getting his head pat and occasionally his shell if he’s comfy enough

- When things are fluffy and wholesome, he’ll rest his forehead against his partners (you see this a lot in Portals teehee)

- He especially enjoys nuzzling into necks or other warm places. He loves when his face is cupped too.

- Donnie likes kisses more than he’d ever admit

- He also really really really loves being called pretty or beautiful (pretty boy especially)! It makes him feel pretty (bc he is 💛)

LEO

- Leo’s love is mostly led with his hands!

- Leo likes touching things ofc

- During cuddle time, he loves rubbing his partners back and resting his chin on their head

- Leo loves being close to people. He enjoys the quality time.

- He’s easy to fall asleep (while still being a pretty light sleeper) and he always likes waking up and seeing his partner’s face.

- Leo likes squishing his partners cheeks with his hands.

- He also usually bops them in the face (affectionately ofc)

- What can he say? It’s in his nature!

RAPH

- Raph is a hugger. Ofc he is.

- He is, however, a little afraid of crushing his lover.

- He enjoys hugging his partner for hours on end.

- He loves being scritched especially under the chin! His tail will start wagging and everything it’s so cute!!!

- Speaking of his tail, when he's hugging his partner, he’ll wrap them up with his tail. It’s mostly involuntary, he swears!

- He’s also a bit of a biter. This is involuntary

- It’s like his cuteness aggression. If his partner is too damn adorable, he’ll need to bite something.

- When he bites his partner, it’s obviously always gentle. He worries if he’s hurt them anyway.

- He’s honestly just a sweetheart and a gentle giant! He’d never do anything to hurt the one he loves 💛

MIKEY

- I cannot stress this enough how much Mikey loves these

- Mikey is obviously the most affectionate out of the others

- He LOVES kisses

- Absolutely adores them

- He will shower his partner in love and affection

- Sure, he loves going all out for the love of his life, but he mostly enjoys the little things. Those tiny intimate moments

- Those soft moments are his favorite. He loves having someone to feel safe around.

- Laying on his partner's stomach is one of his favorite things to do! 💛

- He loves holding hands while cuddling too!

- He gets all flustered when you compliment him! He’s usually the one to give compliments, so it's a nice surprise when he’s appreciated :]

Headcanon that since Leo is not much for non comic books, he gained all his medical knowledge through very graphic and in depth medical videos instead.

The boy is no longer phased in the slightest by it anymore. The others cannot say the same whenever they catch a glimpse of a surgical operation playing on Leo’s phone.

His portaling abilities also give him the ability to secretly join med students in watching operation room procedures.

Listen I just think Medic!Leo would go about his learning process in the most Leo of ways.

hey, can you help me find a fic I've been looking everywhere for? I cannot remember the name for the life of me but it's an rottmnt fic where Leo takes a hit for Raph in the middle of a battle with Hypno and it turns out that the dart he was hit with was drugged. Leo then becomes highly aggressive (mostly verbally but also physically), leads them on a bit of a chase when he portals away, and ends up having to be physically tied down.

It turns out hypno dosed him with something Big Mama uses on her fighters occasionally to make them super aggressive (and that he was showing impressive self-restraint by not going into a mindless rage) and he confesses a lot of personal issues while under its influence.

It's a fantastic fic, and I really enjoyed reading it but I cannot find it anywhere for the life of me! I figured this would be a good blog to ask since you get a lot of rottmnt traffic, so even if you don't know maybe someone else will. I seriously will appreciate any help at all, looking for this fic has been driving me nuts & I just want to know if it's even still on ao3.

I adore the Boys so very much this au has taken me over completely. I think I posted the fic here a little while back (this fic right here if you wanna read it) but I didn't say much about it, basically at the end of the movie, when Mikey is trying to save Leo from the prison dimension, he fails to be able to do anything and so they all go home thinking Leo is gonna die in there. But actually Leo falls out of another portal in the Usagi Yojimbo universe and into the arms of (my somewhat rewritten versions of) Miyamoto and Yuichi Usagi, and so they serve as a temporary family for him while they travel to find a way to get Leo home and Yuichi... somewhere, all while Leo's family back home grieves what they think is a loss of a life. (Mikey has such an interesting arc too and I literally cannot wait to get into it)

It's kind of experimental since it's my first big serious fic but I do my best lmao. I love the playing around with their dynamics and gosh there are so many parts I'm really looking forward to getting to. Very much enjoy drawing these guys as well tbh

I am putting this thought here cause I think a lot about the Kraang and it is sad to see that the Rottmnt community reduced them to nothing more than set pieces or a hivemind (when they're clearly not)

I want to delve into Kraang3's abilities and how they differ from his elder siblings. so let's focus on the most DANGEROUS one out of the trio

Before I continue I do want to emphasise this point cause i cannot stress this enough, the Kraang themselves are NOT a hivemind. 1 & 2 throughout the movie have many instances of being individualistic, acting upon their own desires- the slight expectation being 3, who is obedient and restrained.

Does this mean 3 is not his own character? nope- he's still his own individual. Kraang3 is a loyal soldier awaiting commands from his Eldest brother 1 but with this being said, he's still capable of acting upon his own volition if the situation calls for it. (I.e protecting the key from Leo, then later on his confrontation with Donnie & mikey within the technodrome. )

"But Brew! How does this tie into Kraang3's abilities?"

You might be wondering. Well, my dear reader- it actually does, in some way. Now that I established that the Kraang themselves are NOT a hivemind. Kraang3 on the other hand, is capable of making them but out of other species.

The Kraang are (while not in a traditional sense) a parasitic-like race. They come to other planets for the pure purpose to conquer... to consume.. to mould the inhabitants into their ideal image.

Anything caught within it is assimilated and turned into a mindless drone. However, there is a slight flaw within 3's biomass. Which is the effects heavily vary upon the individual. Some are mutated beyond recognition- while in other instances- it merely clings itself onto the victim's flesh, invading their minds. The changes heavily vary from person to person. We don't know how far his hivemind can go- but his drones are capable of taking commands from his elder siblings at least. (side note: Biomass contains empyrean, the source of yokai and mutants.)

now, What kind of hivemind does 3Kraang create? The answer is kinda unclear. In some instances where YES, both the biomass and the drones act as an 'extension' of himself but in other moments, they're like worker bees protecting their queenbee. (the queenbee in this case, being the actual kraang, not just 3)

3's biomass can also possess machinery, creating unholy and terrifying abominations against nature. With machines- there is no will to conquer. Furthermore, 3's biomass once it reaches a certain point, can drain energy from an entire fucking city and redirect it into a MASSIVE portal into the sky.

ALL of that- is 3's doing. His siblings are incapable of doing this and are aware of it.

So before I get into that- just what the 1 & 2 abilities are? Allow me to break it down into a simpler list. we know that

Both Kraang 1 & 2 have some Shapeshifting properties. While they are not capable of changing their forms entirely, they can at least shift parts of their anatomy. This aids them in combat outside of their suits (I.e extending their limbs or shifting the density of their flesh)

Krang 1 can peer into his victim's mind. This can only be done physically and through his tendrils. It allows him to dig through their memories and gather intel. The process is evidently painful for the victim causing them to pass out upon kraang 1 retraction. (not canon however, it is worth noting that within a deleted scene. Kraang 1 instead forged a false dream in Raph's mind in which Raph "escaped" and ran back home. This was how the kraang were going to discover Tmnt's home initially)

Kraang1 can block mystic powers. Using his frills- Kraang1 can make a specific soundwave that blocks out his enemy's powers- forcing his opponent to face him and rely on their physical prowess rather than "tricks"

Both Kraang 1 & 2 are highly durable. They had buildings, wrecking balls, fucking 'acid'- thrown at them and while the experience is indeed painful, They manage. They quickly recover from that experience and press forward. They're relentless.

3's siblings never showed any signs of the same powers as he does.

Kraang1 knows this.

Throughout the entire movie. He is seen accompanying 3 the whole time, safely guarding his little brother and dictating his every move along the way. 1 knows how important 3 is to their future empire because neither he nor his sister, have what 3 has. It was not just the Technodrome they needed- it was also 3.

So even when the Technodrome was destroyed. it wasn't just the ship he was pissed about. he was also pissed about his little brother possibly perishing. 3 was IMPORTANT to their conquest, without him, They wouldn't be able to finish what they started all those centuries ago. 3's powers are crucial for their empire.

"you ruined everything!"

1 truly meant it when he said that. He admitted to defeat but retracted that statement with "You think you've won, you wretched little pest." - To sum up this moment, The dude is seething. He is coping that some teenagers outwitted him and killed his little brother, putting a cork in HIS plans. Even with the knowledge that his sister is alive back on earth. There won't be any way for her to 'reclaim' earth- since the two most essential things have been blown up to smithereens.

To conclude this weird tangent.

While Kraang1 is the eldest sibling/the leader. Kraang3 is the more dangerous one because of how he unique abilities. Without him, things would turn out very differently

also- completely unrelated, 3 reminds me of the homophobic dog meme.

!!!~Fic Recs~!!! (Pt. II)

Here is a follow-up to my last post of Fic Recs (in which I listed my favorite completed multi-chapter ROTTMNT fics).

In this post I'll be recommending ongoing multi-chapter fics. In no particular order, here they are:

There Must Be Something in the Water by Filsamek

-This fic has been such a delight to read. The premise is interesting and even chilling, and the ways in which the turtles have to puzzle out how to solve the problem at hand has been exciting to follow along with. Very interested to see how the conflict will be resolved and what further Mystic concepts the author will introduce!

Blood, Water, and Thicker Things by JumpingInMuddyPuddles

-While this fic has but 4 chapters thus far, I am absolutely psyched for future updates! This is, in a way, a "sick fic" but combined with Leo pushing his needs aside and facing imminent danger while suffering AND featuring a Leo-Donnie team-up mystery with action and high-stakes...! In the words of Donnie in Lair Games: Nom nom. Nomnomnom.

The Old College Try by theashemarie @theashemarie

-There is just something about this fic that grips me in such a way that it almost hurts to discuss. Leo's characterization feels very accurate and very real, and somehow the ways in which he struggles with his identity in general as well as his identity surrounding intelligence/academia really hit me in the heart. I don't know if it's because I already relate to Leo so much, or if its because of my own (academic) experience of feeling like no one will take me seriously and having that odd and alienating (ADHD-related no doubt) infantalization grate on me, but... the ways in which Leo has to confront his relationship with his place on the team, the character he plays, his true interests and passions, and his relationship with his brother who has claimed the title of "the intelligent one" is hard-hitting. Add to that the struggles of humanity/fitting in with society, of the seemingly inherent selfishness of valuing your own pursuits despite risks or pitfalls therein... the tension is amazing. Oh, did I mention-- this is about Leo and Donnie going to university lmao. But its actually also about so much more, as you can see... Overall: this author is a master of character depiction and I cannot wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds...! Donnie in this fic is also so wonderfully rendered. Best of all are Leo and Donnie's interactions in such a foreign setting, and them having to (re-)learn to navigate one another's feelings this new environment brings out. Ah! Good, good stuff. And if that does not convince you, there's also action, a prominent villain, impossible choices....!

All the Ashes in My Wake by paperxcrowns @crows-murder

-Ooh, I can just tell this one is setting up to be some serious Leo angsting. The premise works so well, and I'm eagerly awaiting for that moment when Leo can no longer keep hiding things from his brothers and the dam breaks. The suspense of wondering how that's going to happen is so, so good. Also, insane dramatic irony that is causing sooo much angst. Leo's brothers hurting him/unknowingly forcing him to do things because of a curse... Dramatic! Irony! Delicious.

Last Grain of Sand in the Hourglass by TjLockticon @last-hourglass

-This fic is a sort of alternate take on the ending of the movie, wherein Leo stays trapped in the prison dimension, but not because Mikey's portal failed– rather, because it brought Future Leo back to the past instead. The ensuing chaos and angst is really well-done, and my favorite parts were actually how each brother came to terms with the situation and how to react around this version of their brother, all while their 'true' brother is still trapped and suffering. The chapters with Present Leo in the prison dimension are a really unique take on his experience there. Another thing I found very intriguing is how Leo's Mystic powers and his swords are included in the plot. I'm looking forward to seeing what further angst lays ahead and how the author chooses to resolve the complexities of feeling introduced with the bros getting attached to Future Leo and also Casey's suffering at the idea that this situation cannot endure, and he will lose his sensei all over again. Wild!!

Alpha Stage by snailsnaps @snailsnaps

-Oh I have so much to say about this fic. The premise is so heart-wrenching and interesting, and scratches that itch (in a way) of having had the planned turtle tots episode canceled. And yet, Donnie is still totally himself, mentally, despite being tot-sized. What is a total delight is the art in this fic. Each illustration is so charming and impeccable and adds to much to the story. I keep coming back to it, and I'm excited to see where the author takes the narrative!

The Same Little Faces by awkwardusagi

-This fic also scratches the itch of the canceled turtle tot episode, but the focus on this one is particularly on Leo being turned back into a tot! I love this take because the author explores the dynamic between Mikey getting to be a big bro for the first time, Donnie and Raph witnessing this, and Splinter giving all of them tips and tricks he knows about how to wrangle hyperactive turtle mutant babies. It also has the interesting and really innovative idea that tot Leo retains the memories and experiences of teenage Leo in his subconscious, and this plays a significant role in the plot. I won't say much more, but the cast of characters and how they slot into the big kerfuffle at hand is also so fun! Particularly my favorite Hippo and Worm duo... and Señor Hueso! The relationships explored are so captivating and heart-wrenching in their tenderness. Leo's insecurities manifested in the form of a turtle tot who cannot hide away their pain from their family... ahhh! It's overall super fun and super sweet and I felt so gripped by the narrative. I'm really interested to see how the author will resolve the conflict!

I May Be Invisible, but I Still Look Good by Dandy @dandylovesturtles

-Ohhhh my gosh, where to even begin with this fic... It follows Leo's (mis)adventures dealing with a Mystic curse that renders him invisible, intangible, and inaudible. I feel like I can't say much about the plot because I don't want to spoil the experience of reading it– each installment of puzzle-solving regarding Leo's curse is so unique and intense and gratifying to experience, so I won't go into too much detail. Leo's characterization is so wonderful and feels so real. His thoughts and reactions and struggles and how he chooses to endure them and cope with them is just... so Leo. Which means that there is a lot of silent suffering, of course! We love to see it. (I'll also briefly note that this extends to all the brothers! I just mention Leo particularly because we are in his head.) The author's ability to depict Leo's panic attacks and dissociation is my favorite I've encountered. It's also, of course, entirely heartbreaking to read. The enemies and the Mystic curse are incredibly engaging as well; they feel very much like classic fantasy adventure obstacles/antagonists that I used to read as a child, which is such a fun thing in the setting of Rise, and fits in very well. It's so believable within the universe. I'm super excited to see how the breaking of the curse will play out! I've probably re-read the fic in its entirety 2-3 times now, and each time it was equally as engrossing. Not only that– the author is such a master that I've noticed foreshadowing interlaced throughout, and that has been such a delight! This fic inspires me, and invigorates me, and leaves me wanting to read basically anything else from the author. I cannot recommend it enough!

Mutant Ninja Midlife Crisis by a_platypus

-This fic includes Future Leo being transplanted into the past, but his meeting with the turtles and April and Casey as well as the circumstances surrounding his presence are not so innocent. The tension and dramatic irony created by this set-up are gripping and exciting. And kinda makes me wanna smack a Leo (or two). The dialogue and relationships are so well-written, and the pacing is really nice. Everything feels very in-character and believable and intense. Also, just an aside, but the interactions between Present Leo and Future Leo feel so believable, and the way they change how they relate to one another over time feels very organic and natural. It's handled and presented very well, and is one of the central reasons I'm excited to see how the plot progresses moving forward.

The Aftermath by Starrcrossrose

-This fic is set post-movie, and focuses on the healing process Leo (and the others) have to undergo, and all the complicated emotions involved. There's particular emphasis on the relationship between Leo and Donnie. The author does an amazing job showing the reader what is going through both their heads and how they're struggling under the burden of Leo's decision to sacrifice himself, as well as the circumstances surrounding this (namely, Leo's mental health). It's heart-wrenching to see them both struggle under this burden and knowledge, and even more so to witness how it drives a wedge between them. Another aspect of this fic that I love is the angst surrounding the idea that Leo is doing all he can to cope and to heal, but his family is so worried and so anxious for him that they push him to recover more quickly, and this actually ends up complicating things and even making things harder for Leo. The frustration is real! The depiction of a well-meaning family making a suffering family member feel even more isolated, ironically, feels very realistic and therefore all the more maddening and heartbreaking. The recent chapters made me have to go and like. Lie down. It's that intense. And that good.

Just saw the extended animatic that was originally meant to end V9 and is now gonna get repurposed into the (possible) V10.

Let me just say, I still feel the same about the things I saw in the first animatic. I can now firmly say that Qrow has been replaced with a doppleganger same as Blake (I wonder if it's like a partial possession thing in this case where sometimes it's Qrow and sometimes it's the faker.) I hate the dumb Winter scenes about how disappointed she is that poor people aren't nice enough to her billionaire blue blooded mother in her silly little sunhat. I have no idea what the hell Raven is doing there. The 'Remember Her Message' thing is stupid because of how poorly done Ruby's message to the world actually was and what little impact Team RWBYJNOR has actually had on the world at large. And I still want to see Whitley without Willow for three point five seconds. And I'm still wondering why the presence of an army in Atlas was a sign of pure evil and was immediately seen as a horrifying threat but seeing an army in Vacuo is meant to be a sign of peace and hope.

But also, now I have more to say.

Like first of all, I'm even more confused on how Remnant managed to pull off any sort of army now that we know what remained in Vale after the Fall of Beacon got decimated. Where are they getting their army? From Mistral, where we know Leo had all the Hunters killed? Are we meant to assume that the people that showed up from Mistral are the cops Blake called on the White Fang? Or, maybe from Argus, even though we're meant to hate Cordovin and the Atlas military that was there? Second of all, this makes me even more annoyed at Winter for being like 'if my poor martyr sister could see how badly we're doing, she'd be disappointed,' Winter get realistic goals challenge 2024. Third of all, Team SSSN and CFVY made appearances and if I ever have to see Coco "based on a nazi" Adel ever again, it'll be too soon, but I still insist that it should've been just Sun, Neptune, and Velvet because none of their other teammates got enough focus in the actual show to be real characters. They could've been casually name dropped off-handedly and it would've been fine. Speaking of teams making reappearances, Neon is there, which means she didn't die in the Fall of Atlas and likely her teammates didn't either, but they had better have a full explanation in V10 for how soldiers on the field got back to the city and threw the portals, and it's weird that we saw Neon but not Flynt. Also can I just point out that "the people who were colonized by Atlas are being aggressive to innocent Atlas orphans and need to be told off" is a writing choice the writers didn't have to do, and considering all the whole history with RWBY and bigotry, I don't know why they did that. Neon and Nora had a moment though, and I was like... Ship material? Also, Tyrian and Mercury are working with the Crown, but... To be honest, if they don't scrap that in V10 (if V10 ever comes,) I'm gonna question their decision making even more, because they just did a new location with a new villain and it proved that this late in the game it's hard to set up or properly execute new threats, and if V10 ever comes out, it's a high probability that we're not ever getting a V11. So if you ask me, if they don't cut out the Crown, they're either gonna badly execute these new bads because they expect their fans to do homework to understand the main show, or they're gonna spend way too much focus on establishing them and the Mains will get sidelined again. Merc looks like a mess, though, and this would make me think a redemption arc is a-coming except that they're pressed for time like I said, so I'm not counting on it. The fact that I have to see Peter Port of all characters is also making me want to say a lot of bad words. Like I cannot emphasize enough how much I hated seeing him and his stupid face and how much I wish he'd never existed. What is this choice to not have the serious potential mentor character who had been part of Oz's inner circle come in and instead having the comic relief teacher who blathered about testosterone and flirted with an underage student be the one to break what should be devastating news that should by all rights get a lot of focus? And where the heck is Tai in all of this? Rip to Oobleck, but out of everyone from the Vale seasons, I would not have picked either of these men to bring back, I'd have brought in Tai and Glynda. It's just a bad choice. And still no sign of Maria and Pietro, so like... What the heck?

All in all, I thought before that I couldn't have less hope for the future of RWBY, but whoa buddy this extended animatic proved me wrong.

Only Mother Eath Shall Hear Your Cries

Leonardo x Reader, Platonic

Quite whistles of the wind is the only thing can be heard in the wasteland that was once a glorious planet filled with astonishing trees and bustling cities that is now replaced with crimson red skies with matching sands that's scattered across the surface of the planet. Surrounding the two turtles that had somehow survived the war between the alien race from another dimension and the creatures whom had once roamed upon mother earth.

A shallow breath can be faintly heard from the green-clad turtle below the blue- the only two colors that can be seen in the red tundra. Slowly, as if it's painful to do so, you open your eyes and only white greats your vision as it always has been. But still not being able to see anything, you can still feel your brother's form above you, as well as the blood that has been tried since.... since you can barely remember. You're memories are fuzzy just like your vision. All that you do remember is a big burst of oarnge and red before everything- oh... oh.

Now you remember. Now you remembered feeling the dull warmth of Mikey's portal to send Casey to the past. You remembered Casey's screams and Leo.... you haven't idea when you had started to cry until someone's- Leo's hand had touched your face and swipes his thumb to wipe the tears away. You swear that you could hear him, that he's humming a lullaby that you hadn't heard in ages. One that you remember humming when either Casey, when he was little, or any of your brothers were having a nightmare.

You don't know what do to, but your mind only told you to keep wailing, and so you do. Broken words spilled from your mouth that could barely be called words as they start to mumble together while reaching your hands to try and wrap your arms around Leo's neck- you felt him move closer to you as his arm tighten around your shell and now you can hear him clearer. You can hear the shakiness in his voice, the guilt, the sorrow and yet still you can hear the hope in his voice. Hope for what you don't know; you cannot feel any Krang, near nor far.

Maybe that's it. That maybe, somehow, someway, that the Krang are gone. That they had disappeared into nothingness leaving the two of you here. But still, your head nags at you that something's going to happen. You don't know what but something will, but fornow you don't want to go anywhere without your brother. And Leo sighs in relief as your rapid breathing returns to normal and as it does you almost look content, peaceful even. Even so he still rubs your forearms with his hand- a trick you always did whenever he or any of his brothers were to have a meltdown or panic attack.

He swore that it was an hallucination, because he hadn't heard your voice in so long. You have gone completely mute after Donnie died- especially when after Mikey said that he couldn't find his ghost. But once you had said his name again- once he had seen your expression: the tiredness, the greif and sorrow and forlorn look on your face as you open your mouth to talk, voice broken and horse and yet soft and quite as you spoke. "Don- yo-ou're no-t, don't le-eave pl.. ease. I don't wa-aan't to be alon..."

Once again he shushes you in hums of comfort. That he's not going anywhere without you. Not never, not any time soon.

More Rise!Nardo thoughts.

Just thinking about how he'd abuse the fuck out of his portal abilities with you. Always offering to be your "ride" when you need to go somewhere, using it as an excuse to see you for just a minute when you're busy. The classic you're upset? oh lol i just Happened To Pop By A Shop, Here, Your Favorite Snacks.

He'd show up in a heartbeat to help you move furniture, or to help you cook, or to help you speed clean because your aunt's in town all of a sudden and you cannot let her know you live like this.

You don't think anything of it, really. Because it's effortless for him. It's like getting up from the couch for how much energy it takes him.

But it gets to be a habit.

It's a pattern.

You text him after a long day, once, and you say something about being tired and not wanting to cook, and then he's in your kitchen with a crackle of blue energy and a bag of take out and a hoodie he pulls off less than five minutes later, passing it to you with an easy shrug and a nonchalant smile. Lot warmer in here than the lair, he says breezily, as though it isn't your favorite of his hoodies. As though it was an accident.

He does that a lot, you realize. Act as though calculation is coincidence.

And then you can't stop realizing it.

It's not just the portals.

It's everywhere.

He's everywhere.

He's spending enough time at your place that he just leaves his stuff there when he gets a mission call, and you end up with a stack of books and comics that you definitely didn't pick up yourself, and instead of mentioning it you just replace his horrifying whatever-he-can-find bookmarks (you find one of your bracelets there, once) with actual ones. People keep giving them to you as freebies- might as well put them to use.

Somehow he knows when you've got big appointments scheduled, and he just casually shows up the night before and complains about how you do your chores and insists on showing you how it's done, and then you blink and he's put away every dish in your kitchen, all while playfully critiquing your organization. And, like magic, you're free to sit down and relax, because evidently your sweeping technique is also tragic, no, no, give me that, you're- you're banished, that's abysmal, and feet off the ground- don't care, it needs swept, go on.

Crazy how his movie night picks are some of your favorites. Great minds think alike, eh?

And then 'huh, Leo's pretty helpful' becomes 'oh, Leo's given me impossible standards' when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't seem to catch your breath from a nightmare. You fumble for your phone and type what's supposed to say are you up? and comes out as ate yii yo? and then your phone is ringing.

He greets you with a you alright? that you think should probably be harsher than it is considering the hour, and when you manage to get the word dream out of your face he follows up with want some company?

And you must say yes, because the next thing you know is a crackle of blue energy (which should look dangerous, should feel dangerous, but looks like a playful wave and feels like home) and nearly six feet of mutant turtle dropping onto your bed, landing with a playful bounce that shakes a little of the dream-scented-sludge from your mind.

Sorry, he says, playful and grinning as he folds his arms behind his head and watches you like he can read your mind, traffic was a nightmare.

And you shake your head, because what the fuck, but you're laughing despite yourself and some of the scrutiny melts from his eyes.

Thought I'd-

Don't say drop by.

I would never, he says, but he doesn't elaborate on what he was going to say, and you draw your own conclusions. Anywhoozles, what's the vibe? Movie? Snack? Field trip to the top of the Great Wall?

And somehow he means it.

He's in your room at four in the morning, still in his pajamas, mask down around his neck, all warm and soft and sleep-shaped, and offering you the world like it was a piece of gum.

And you just stare at him, wondering if you're still dreaming.

Guess who's having ANOTHER au thought (because I cannot be stopped)

Ok so the premise is simple.

A 17 year old 2012 Leo ends up in the Riseverse due to a portal mishap

Well more specifically he ends up in the Hidden City.

Completely alone in a new environment in a new dimension, how wonderful.

He's just in time to watch as a then Human Lou Jitsu is carried to Draxum's lab. And well Leonardo couldnt just leave that alone. He follows the gargoyles to the lab.

Because something is about to go down, and he's not gonna let that happen.

By the time Leo breaks into the lab and enters the main chamber, four baby turtles are about to be mutated.

He fights with Draxum, releasing Lou Jitsu in the process.

However Draxum quickly grows to realize that Leonardo is EXACTLY the kind of mutant warrior he was trying to create.

Why use a human to make more warriors when there is a mutant RIGHT THERE for the picking.

Besides, Leonardo is younger than Lou Jitsu and a younger donor would last much longer.

So Leonardo gets put in the machine

And the four baby turtles get mutated using Leonardo's DNA.

The lab ends up on fire and collapses like in canon (and Lou Jitsu ends up mutated into a rat like canon)

Leonardo flees the burning lab, with four crying baby mutant turtles in his arms.

Once he's out of the Hidden City he takes to the sewers immediately.

He wraps the babies in an old blanket he found along the way and collapses soon after.

Oh god...

Oh fuck...

These are HIS kids arent they?

He's only 17 and now he has four kids!

Four teeny tiny kids (the biggest one is smaller than his palm)

What is he gonna do?

He can't raise four infants alone! (He doesn't know what happened to that action star guy, he could faintly hear him scream over the falling rubble and the fire, but Leo was too focused on getting the babies to safety to care at that moment)

He forces himself to calm down, its fine...everything will be fine!

His family will find him (explaining why he suddenly is a father of four will not be fun but he can handle that.) And then everything will be fine.

Days turn to weeks.

Weeks turn to months.

Its almost a year since the lab fire.

The babies are all walking and talking at various levels (The softshell is already starting to learn how to read) getting into everything and full of energy.

Leonardo is so scared.

Its been a year and there hasnt been any contact from his family, no one has come for him. Were they even looking for him?

It takes another couple of months for his hope to fade. He was really stuck here wasnt he? Surely his family would've found him by now?

By year three he knows that no one is coming for him. All he can do now is raise his sons to the best of his ability. Keep them safe and loved, train them to become ninjas like his father before him.

Now 13 years since the lab fire, Leonardo at age 30, is a father to four teenage mutant ninja turtles of his own. Everything is fine

At least until his sons come home with new weapons, millions of dangerous insects released in New York and an old enemy returning to recapture his experiments.

Leonardo will not let that happen. He will protect his children even if it costs him his life.

Meanwhile its only been five months in his home dimension, his still teenage brothers completely oblivious to everything that is happening to their missing eldest brother.

(TLDR: 2012 Leo becomes a parent to the Rise boys while in a different dimension)
