I LOVE this shot so god damn much. The lit chandelier and vibrant red wall behind him. The lush red vase with what I think are little cupids on it. Shelves of gold-toned books with red-toned detailing. Thick yellow gold framing everywhere. His champagne cravat and dark blue velvet jacket. Dark red flowers right next to him, and even some yellow flowers in the top left corner. Everything here means romance and love and Penelope.

The way he is placed in the shot, behind the others, closer to the wall and the flowers- the production team has done to him what they had been doing to Pen. Colin and Pen have switched places. He’s the wallflower here.

And he looks positively sick. He is at that stage of love where he is physically ill with it. The heaviness of his love is reflected in the heaviness of everything in this room. Just looking at this shot gives me the stomach-sinking, blood-draining, soul-crushing feeling that you can only get by watching the person who means everything to you be with someone else.

OKAY OKAY WAIT I HAVE A THEORY I HAVENT SEEN YET

WHAT IF they’re at the ball and its Penelope’s first time with this brand new look and shes actually getting attention from suitors and the night is going pretty well. Colin is watching from afar confused because there’s something uneasy about the situation but he can’t figure out what so he’s just watching on the sidelines. NOW Penelope is feeling good and great and shes thriving but suddenly someone starts to get a little jealous of her. Penelope goes to get some lemonade or steps out for a moment for some air because this is all new to her. Cressida follows her outside and tells her she looks like a fool and ridiculous everyone is just mocking her and she will always be an insipid wallflower regardless of how she tries to hide it and no one will ever love her or want her. Of course because she’s still insecure at heart Penelope believes her. Cressida walks away with a smirk on her face and leave Penelope on the balcony alone. Penelope starts crying and runs away pulling pins from her hair. She stops at a gazebo and just sits and cries when someone calls her name from behind her. Colin having been watching her the whole night saw everything that happened and without thought followed her into the garden. He asks her what Cressida said and she tells him through tears and he gets closer wanting to wipe the tears away and comfort her. The closer he gets more beautiful she looks and he cant believe she would ever believe Cressida’s words. He’s in a trance listening to her words and fighting every urge to rest his hands against her cheeks and wipe away the tears when suddenly he hears “Colin will you please kiss me” or the exact quote from the book. And then we have this moment from the picture.

So sorry if anyone has posted something like this already i haven’t seen it yet so i just wanted to share. Can’t wait for season 3!!

What if — and hear me out — Agnes Nutter knew that Anathema and Newt would burn the first copy of the second book of prophecies?

I know, I know — you’re thinking, “so why did she send it in the first place?”

1. Maybe she didn’t get the idea that they’d burn it until after she sent it or

2. She knew they would burn it, but she also knew that if she let them burn it and find out what life was like without her prophecies, or even just knowing that they could’ve maybe helped someone because of the prophecies and now they can’t because they burned them, then they would start to feel differently about their decision.

So what if in season 3, we see someone deliver a package to Anathema and Newt (still together? Broken up? Together but in counseling? Lol) and this time, they decide to actually look at the prophecies. Maybe not because they want to get sucked in, but just because curiosity gets the better of them. And the one they read sucks them right back into The End of The World, and we get to see a return of some season 1 friends :)

If I said Jessica Stanley and Mike Newton weren’t that bad, y’all gonna be mad?👀

Let’s really talk about this though. Edward and Bella judge these two so harshly for being normal teenagers. Jessica likes to gossip, she likes fashion, she thinks Edward is cute, she doesn’t forgive Bella when she bounces and I feel like all of that is valid. Mike thinks Bella is cute and Edward is a weirdo and that’s also valid, but the two of them act like they’re terrible sinners and it’s so odd to me. How do you read my mind then get mad when it’s a bunch of static noise? Bella wants to be not like other girls and Edward is old as shit, OF COURSE you won’t think like them. Their only crime is acting and thinking like teenagers and it’s weird Stephanie got so much beef with Jess and we’re expected to hate her too.

Um some goofy screenshot redraw in the Hazbin Hotel style

I've been seeing a lot of redesigns for Hazbin Hotel characters lately, and wanted to improve my design for Newton from my LBP x Hazbin AU

I really like the concept that he can't open his mouth, so his voice actually comes from the radio on his chest. He only speaks normally when he's being genuine

Also I mainly just desaturated the colours, slightly changed up the sleeves, hair, claws as well as the facial features to help him seem more "threatening" (I gave him an actual deer nose and less fluffier hair)

Also made his antlers larger and more jagged, and his eyes brighter

Without the lighting + original scene

Constructive criticism is HIGHLY advised ik my designs arent perfect and I would really benefit from any sort of feedback

“We see then that the United States controls other countries thousands of miles away and uses their resources to benefit the ruling circle in America. The same situation holds for the many communities of the oppressed within the United States. Therefore the evidence shows very clearly that the United States is not a nation for its boundaries are extended into every territory of the world. The United States is an empire.”

Newton’s theory of intercommunalism seeks to provide an explanation for the dominating and ultimately determining political force of American capitalist empire on the world stage, the corresponding decline of the political influence of nation-states, and the deterioration of nationalism as a potentially liberatory political ideology. He refers to this condition and phase of capitalism as reactionary intercommunalism. According to Newton in 1970, nation-states can no longer meaningfully be said to exist. Instead, global capital has, through U.S. empire in particular, reduced the world to a collection of communities that lack control over their local conditions of life and which can at most only become autonomous “liberated territories” within that larger empire. These communities can, however, by seizing the material structures that allow for production, technology, and information media, fight to build an interconnected and “cooperative framework” among themselves in a global dynamic that he calls revolutionary intercommunalism.25 In the words of Elaine Brown, chairwoman of the BPP from 1974 to 1977, Newton’s notion of reactionary intercommunalism is an early conceptualization of what is today “casually euphemized by the capitalist class as ‘globalization.’”26 The theory of intercommunalism as a whole is an attempt to both describe how revolutionary change might be expected to unfold going forward given these conditions of global empire but also to prescribe how one might go about playing an agential role in such a project. Dialectical materialism is Newton’s preferred method for understanding how one might come to derive what that role is, given that it is not static and pre-established, but must be assessed from an analysis of material conditions as they develop. “The concept of intercommunalism not only accurately describes and defines the situation, it also implies our obligation to unify and share with these dispersed communities the wealth which has been stolen from them and centralized here in the United States.”27 During the particular turning point in the history of the Black Panther Party when he developed the theory, Newton was also deeply concerned with how Black people in particular might attain liberation without relying upon a state that purports to represent them as a people or nation. According to Newton, any efforts by Black people to gain national sovereignty or independence while global capitalism still exists could only lead to alternate forms of subjugation under American empire.
