summary: having ashton irwin as your roommate had its perks: he was nice and would always help out around the apartment, sometimes he’d be gone for months while on tour, and he had a hot best friend

You were scribbling down some notes in your planner when you heard a soft knock at your bedroom door. You glanced over your shoulder and saw Ashton, your roommate, in your doorway.

“Hey, Ash. What’s up?” You asked him. He crossed his arms, leaning against your doorframe. “I’m going out to run some errands. Do you need anything while I’m out?” He asked you.

You thought for a second and then shook your head. “I should be good, thanks for asking though.” You said, smiling. He nodded and then left your shared apartment.

You returned your attention back to what you were doing.

Ashton was a great roommate. He was nice and not too messy. He was on tour often, so sometimes you had the whole apartment to yourself. You liked it when he was home though because you both were pretty good friends.

About two hours later, there was a knock at the front door. You stood up from your desk and headed towards the door. You assumed Ashton had left his key at home, which he’d definitely done a few times before.

You quickly unlocked the door. “You forget your key again, Ash?” You asked, opening the door. The door revealed someone standing outside, but it wasn’t your roommate.

A tall brunette man was standing in front of you. You recognized him as Calum, one of Ashton’s band mates. You knew his face from some of Ashton’s posts on Instagram. You both had never actually met in person, though you both had heard stories about each other.

“Oh, sorry. I thought you were Ashton.” You said, feeling embarrassed. You’d always found Calum attractive, but he was your roommate’s friend. “No, that’s okay. Is Ashton not here? I didn’t mean to bother you. You’re Y/N, right? Ash’s roommate?” He asked you.

You nodded your head, giving him a soft smile. “Ash went out to run some errands. He’ll probably be back soon, if you want to come in and wait.” You offered, trying desperately to not embarrass yourself in front of him.

“Are you sure? I don’t want to get in your way. I can just come back when he gets home.” He said. Neither of you really knew how to act in this situation. You had never hung out before, and you both wanted to make a good first impression.

“No, it’s okay, I promise. You already drove all this way. You won’t be a bother at all.” You offered, stepping back and letting him walk inside. He gave you a soft smile and walked past you.

The smell of his cologne surrounded you as he walked by you. You could feel the heat rushing to your cheeks. It wasn’t your fault that he made you weak in the knees.

“Do you mind if I go work on some stuff in my room? You can watch tv or whatever you want.” You asked him. He looked over his shoulder at you, with a look that made you feel like a schoolgirl. “Yeah, go ahead. I’ll keep it down.” He told you, sweetly.

He was super nice, which wasn’t helping with your little crush. You retreated to your room and continued working on responding to your work emails.

You could hear Calum turn on the tv, and he made sure to turn it down, so he wouldn’t distract you. You went to take a sip of your water and noticed your cup was empty.

You weren’t ashamed to admit that you checked your appearance in the mirror before you walked out of your room. You fixed your hair and smoothed out your outfit.

You walked into the living room, and Calum’s eyes shot over to meet yours. He gave you yet another soft smile. It turned your insides into jelly.

You continued to walk past him into the kitchen. You caught your breath as soon as you were out of his view. You slowly filled up your cup up with water and screwed the lid back on.

As you walked out of the kitchen, you noticed Calum was watching one of your favorite shows. You stopped near where he was sitting. “You watch this show too?” You asked, looking over at him.

He quickly nodded his head. “Are you kidding? I love this show. You’re the first person I’ve ever met who actually knows anything about it.” He told you. Both of your eyes lit up as you found this common interest.

He patted the seat next to him, causing you to giggle. You happily joined him on the couch. You couldn’t help but feel your face heat up as his arm brushed against yours.

“Oh, this is such a good episode.” You said, recognizing it instantly. Calum agreed with you.

You both could already feel the chemistry between you two. You had always found Calum attractive when you had seen pictures of him, but there was something about being next to him that made him near-irresistible.

He smoothly moved him arm to rest along the back of the couch. You definitely noticed what he was doing, but you didn’t make any attempt to stop it. Calum smirked a little as you leaned in a little closer to him, but still weren’t touching.

You both stayed like that til the episode ended. Neither one of you had been brave enough to make a move yet.

Calum turned off the tv and turned towards you. “So, you’re the infamous Y/N that Ash is always telling me about.” He said, smirking at you.

“And you’re the infamous Calum,” you added. He chuckled and his smirk only grew.

“So, how have we never met until today?” He asked you, pushing a piece of your hair behind your ear.

You both were playing a very delicate game of cat and mouse. You both knew exactly where this conversation was headed, but weren’t sure who was gonna make the final move.

“We actually almost met once.” You said, only remembering the story in that moment. He cocked his head to the side, curious as to how he could have forgotten almost meeting you.

You turned to face him more, and Calum rested his hand on your knee. “Ash invited me to one of your shows and told me I could come backstage after the show to meet you all. I went to the show, but had an emergency, so I had to leave early.” You told him.

“So, what’d you think of the show?” He asked you, still with that grin on his face. You paused for a second, making him wait for your answer.

You shifted closer to him. Your legs were almost pressed up against his. “I thought it was a really great show. I also thought the bassist was really hot.” You said, your voice barely above a whisper.

You could see Calum’s eyes grow wider. He was left speechless. “You gonna kiss me or not?” You teased him. This seemed to snap him out of his trance.

He grabbed your waist and leaned forward to connect your lips. You pulled yourself onto his lap as you kissed him. He ran his hands up and down your back. His touch felt electric on your skin.

His lips tasted like spearmint as they moved against yours. “You are so fuckin’ gorgeous.” He mumbled against your lips. You pulled away to catch your breath.

Calum had other plans. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, sucking on the soft skin. “Oh my god,” you mumbled as your eyes fluttered closed.

You rested your hands on his shoulders. Before he could kiss you again, you stood up and grabbed Calum’s hands. “C’mon,” you told him, tugging him towards your room. He smirked at your eagerness.

You pulled him inside your room and lightly kicked the door closed.

“C’mere,” Calum said, when you both were standing next to your bed. He ran his fingers down your arms, and then lifted your arms and wrapped them around his neck. “You look breathtaking.” He said.

He placed soft kisses on your jawline and all over your face, except on your lips. He let his hands slide down the curve of your back and continue until they stopped on the back of your thighs.

He effortlessly picked you up and laid you down on the bed. He crawled on top of you, and you could feel the butterflies in your stomach.

He leaned in to kiss you, but stopped millimeters from your lips. “Such a tease,” you mumbled, flipping him over. You were now straddling him, and he looked stunned. “That was so fucking hot” he mumbled.

You leaned forward and slipped your hands under his tight tshirt. You let your hands trace the outlines of his muscles. He loved the way that your hands felt on him.

“Take it off,” he encouraged you, as you balled part of his tshirt up in your hand. You smirked and slowly peeled the shirt off his large frame, pulling it over his head.

“So much better,” you said, leaning in to kiss him. He quickly wrapped his arms around your waist, keeping you as close to him as possible.

Then, you both heard the front door. “Shit,” you both mumbled at the same time. Both of you had been so caught up in the moment that you completed forgot about Ashton coming home.

“Does he know you’re here?” You asked Calum, to which he shook his head no.

“Hey, I’m home.” Ashton called out.

You quickly jumped off your bed. “You stay here and put this back on,” you said, handing him his shirt.

You slipped out your bedroom door, closing it behind you. “Hey, you’re back.” You said, smiling at Ashton. He was in the kitchen putting away some groceries he had bought.

“Can we maybe talk about something?” You asked him.

He turned around to face you. His face changed from one of concern to a smirk. “What?” You asked him, cluelessly.

“I know what this is about.” He boasted, still smirking at you. You furrowed your eyebrows. Did he really know about you and Calum? “What do you mean?” You asked him.

“I’m guessing it has something to do with the hickey on your neck.” He said, chuckling. Your eyes went wide as you quickly tried to cover your neck with your hand.

“So, thank you for giving me the roommate courtesy and letting me know about the guy in your room, but don’t worry about it. Calum and I are gonna hang out today, so I can just ask to hang out at his place and you can have the apartment all to yourself with your new friend.” Ashton told you.

You would have really appreciated how considerate he was being if the circumstances were different.

“No, you don’t understand, Ash.” You started to tell him, “you know the guy.”

It wasn’t out of the norm for you both to discuss your love lives. Ashton knew all about your ex-boyfriends, and you had had plenty of awkward conversations with some of Ashton’s flings who stayed the night.

“Is it Jonathon? He was such an ass to you. I can kick him out if you want, but don’t get involved with him again.” He asked you, referencing your semi-recent toxic ex-boyfriend. You quickly shook your head.

“Ash, it’s not him, I promise.” You told him, still having trouble actually telling him who it was.

“So then…” he said, trying to think of who it could be.

“Ash, it’s Calum.” You confessed. That was the last answer Ashton expected to hear. “Wait…you and Calum? When did you both, wait what?” Ashton asked, his shock was very clear to you.

“He came over to hang out with you, but you were out. We were watching tv and then we started talking and, I don’t know what happened.” You explained.

Ashton chuckled. “I know what happened,” he said smirking.

“Cal, you can come out.” Ashton called out. Calum walked out of your room with a slightly awkward expression. “Hey, man.” He said, softly.

“Y’know, me and the guys have actually been talking about ways to set you both up. I guess you both had that covered though,” Ashton said, chuckling.

You all paused, not knowing what to say next. Ashton was having a blast with how uncomfortable you both looked.

“Alright, this is sufficiently awkward enough. You both should go hang out, like you had planned.” You said, trying to find a way to end your embarrassment. They both nodded, agreeing with you.

“I’ll go wait in the car and give you both a sec,” Ashton said, winking at the two of you. Once he walked out the door, Calum turned to you.

“Sorry we got interrupted,” Calum said, kissing the inside of your palm. You gave him a soft smile. “That’s alright. Ash is going on a date tomorrow night if you want to bring me over to your place. You got any roommates?” You asked him.

He shook his head, “Nope, no roommates.”

“Perfect, then we should have the place all to ourselves.” You whispered, kissing him on the cheek.

He grabbed your waist and pulled you close to him. He leaned in so his lips were inches away from your ear. “I’m looking forward to it,” he whispered softly.

You felt goosebumps spread all over your body. He gave you a peck on the lips and headed for the door.

“Oh, wait. One more thing,” he said, walking back over to you and pushing you against the wall. You felt your stomach do a flip as he did it.

“Y’know how you said you only got to see part of the show last time?” He asked you. You nodded your head.

“We have a show in a few weeks. You should come, and then afterwards, maybe you could fuck that bassist in his dressing room?” He whispered in your ear.

“I would really like that,” you said, pressing your lips against his. He smiled at you and squeezed your hand and then left with Ashton.

Phil's Video Blog - 27th March 2006

Watch with me!

First off, immediately I am amazed by the constant improvement in technology because this noir style video resembles a piece of abstract art. Grainy, a bit blurry, and made up nearly entirely of pixels, I am immediately filled with bittersweet 2000s nostalgia.

Before I go any farther, here is what I know.

This video was released 27th of March 2006 on amazingphil. In 2006, Phil Lester was 19 years old. I, however, was only 7. (I was a wee babe.)

Did I know before starting this blog that this video existed? Yes!

Have I ever watched it before now? No!

What was happening in the world at this time? Good question.

This video is short and sweet and we really see who Phil is in this video. He’s just a sweet lad showing the world what he got his mother for mother’s day and giving us a little insight to what he is working on in University. (We know today that he was working on his degree in Linguistics at University of York followed by a Masters in video production from the same school .) This video really highlights how relatable Phil is (and has continued to be, minus his childhood anecdotes) as he complains about school and daylight savings.

Something that shook me to my core with the introduction to the lion and pig plushies. Lions and pigs have continued to be related to him even today. Lion references are non-stop, of course, and I could not imagine the current phouse without their golden pig companion! (unrelated stream Golden Pig from danandphilBEATS on spotify!)

It’s so nice to watch this now knowing the amazing (ha!) career and fandom he has built now.

Charlie auf Fuerteventura - Teil 1: Morro Jable

Freunde der Sonne, ich habe endlich rausgekriegt, wie man in diesem schrecklichen Hotel-WLAN ne stabile Verbindung kriegt: Man geht einfach raus auf den Balkon, wo es keine Wände gibt, die das WLAN-Signal abdämpfen. Hier ist es zwar windig aber egal, alles für ein stabiles WLAN!

Fuerteventura ist die älteste und zweitgrößte der kanarischen Inseln. Seit 2009 ist sie UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat und seit 2015 UNESCO-Lichtschutzgebiet.

Es scheint, als hätten wir den Fluch endlich gebrochen, den dieses Mal sind wir ohne Probleme vom Mietwagen abholen rausgefahren. Ich seh’s schon kommen: Stattdessen kriegen wir dann Probleme beim Mietwagen abgeben.

Mein Vater hatte die tolle Idee, sich kein T-Shirt unter seinen Pullover zu ziehen und hat sich dann nicht nur die ganze Zeit bis zum Hotel beschwert, dass ihm warm ist sondern musste sich dann im Hotel auch erstmal hinlegen

Dieses Hotel ist sehr auf deutsche Urlauber ausgerichtet und das merkt man u.a. daran, dass sie sich denken, dass in eigentich fleischfreie Gerichte definitiv Speck reingehört - was natürlich nicht auf dem Schild daneben steht. Es ist jeden Tag eine Überraschung: Ist das eine normale Suppe/normale Beilage oder haben sie doch Speck reingemacht?

Da der Hotelfernseher hier wieder keinen Kopfhöreranschluss hat, hat mein Vater sich jetzt ein Buch aus dem Bücherregal geholt und liest. Das ist erst das dritte Mal in seinem ganzen Erwachsenenleben, dass er freiwillig ein Buch liest und die ersten beiden Male hat er das Buch nichtmal ausgelesen.

Anyway, jetzt, wo ich endlich eine stabile WLAN-Verbindung habe, kann ich endlich berichten, was wir gestern gemacht haben. Wir waren in dem Ort Morro Jable. Ursprünglich ein kleines Fischerdorf, jetzt Tourismushochburg, seit Anfang der 1970er eine Straße dorthin gebaut wurde.

Was zusammen mit dem hässlichen Leuchtturm sehr dystopisch aussieht.

Ebenfalls dystopisch: Die gruseligen Kinderstatuen im Kreisverkehr am Ortseingang.

Das sind längst nicht alle. Insgesamt stehen dort 30 von ihnen rum.

Kommen wir nun zu den weniger dystopischen Teilen des Ortes. Zum Beispiel die Salzwiesen neben dem Leuchtturm (Naturschutzgebiet)

Was macht diese Willy Brandt Statue hier? Ganz einfach: Willy Brandt war öfters auf Kur auf Fuerteventura und durch die Medienberichte darüber wurde Fuerteventura als Urlaubsziel populär. Man hat ihm sogar extra eine eigene Funkstation eingerichtet, weil es noch keine Telefonleitungen gab. Home Office in den 70ern!

Und natürlich, typisch für Fuerteventura: Der Sandstrand

Vom Hafen von Morro Jable legen Fähren auf die anderen Inseln ab.

Außerdem gibt es im Hafenbecken Stachelrochen in freier Wildbahn zu bestaunen. Sie kommen freiwillig vom offenen Meer in den Hafen geschwommen, weil sie genau wissen, dass es hier Futter gibt. Ihr kennt sie vielleicht als die Tierart, die Steve Irwin getötet hat.

Ebenfalls am Hafen befindet sich eine Meeresschildkrötenaufzucht- und Auffangstation. Sie ist Teil eines Projekts, dass die Unechte Karettschildkröte wieder auf Fuerteventura ansiedeln soll, was auch teilweise bereits geglückt ist. Außerdem werden hier verletzte Meeresschildkröten so lange gepflegt, bis sie wieder in die Freiheit entlassen werden können.

Sie haben zwar noch bis zum 23. Januar geschlossen, weil die Behörden ihre jährliche Überprüfung durchführen, aber die Angestellten bieten Zaungästen an, gegen eine kleine Spende ihr Handy kurz an sich zu nehmen und Fotos zu machen.

Außerdem habe ich das Schlaraffenland für Liebhaber von gemusterter Kleidung gefunden. Koala Bay hat zwar nur Filialen an der spanischen Küste und auf den Inseln, aber sie haben eine Onlineshop und liefern auch nach Deutschland. Und weil in Spanien gerade Winterschlussverkauf ist, ist vieles runtergesetzt. Die Größen fangen zwar erst bei S an, aber die fällt klein aus.

Plus vite, plus haut, plus fort … Cette devise des J-O encourage, certes, le sens de l’effort et invite les athlètes à donner le meilleur d’eux. Toutefois, et c’est parfois irritant, elle développe la vanité chez les individus, la gloriole chez les nations, et, d’une manière générale, l’exaltation de l’homme. « À un certain niveau de compétition, déclarait récemment un ancien champion sportif, il faut une bonne dose d’orgueil pour vaincre ».

Toutefois, quelques hommes ont su se classer parmi les meilleurs en comptant sur Dieu pour accomplir leurs performances.

⦁ — Plus vite : lors des J-O de 1924, la finale du 100 mètres doit se disputer un dimanche. Ce jour-là, Erick Liddle, pourtant le favori, déclare forfait : le dimanche, dit-il, est le jour du Seigneur. Il reporte son inscription sur le 400 mètres les jours suivants, et sans s’être entraîné sur cette distance, il arrive premier et devient à cette occasion recordman du 400 mètres.

⦁ — Plus haut : très peu de personnes peuvent se vanter d’être allées aussi haut que James Irwin qui foula le sol lunaire en 1969. Pourtant, il sait garder la tête froide et il déclare « que la venue de Jésus Christ dans le monde a été un événement bien plus important que l’arrivée de l’homme sur la lune ». Depuis, il témoigne de sa foi en Jésus et de ses expériences avec lui.

⦁ — Plus fort : En 1989, dans le tournoi de tennis de Roland-Garros, personne ne fut plus fort que l’américain Michaël Chang. Il est pourtant inexpérimenté puisqu’il n’a que 18 ans, il ne dispose pas du grand gabarit de ses principaux adversaires, et pourtant il remporte la finale, le plus jeune de ceux qui ont gagné ce tournoi.

Chang ne montre pas d’orgueil, il déclare que c’est Dieu qui l’aide dans toutes ses compétitions. Sur le papier que ses admirateurs lui tendent pour avoir un autographe, il écrit : « Jésus vous aime. Chang ».

Chacun à notre place, savons-nous donner à Dieu le mérite des succès que nous remportons ? Sommes-nous toujours prêts à témoigner de notre Sauveur ?

I started this piece months ago but only just now got to finishing it ( inking is still annoying, but it will stay that way unless I practice, so eh). For this piece, I traced a screenshot of an actual MMA fight to get the composition and spacing right. The screenshot had a referee in the background, and I debated excluding him entirely, but I decided that the piece needed him there, so I made a little zebra referee to go keep an eye on things. I’m also continuing to use a 10% opacity black marker to do shading, but I know that eventually I’ll abandon that technique for actual color shading.

The Dave Benton Interview: Catching up with The MadTown Man by Eric Eggleson

If you haven’t heard of Dave Benton, then you didn’t grow up in the Midwest, or Madison specifically. I “lived” at his record store and saw one of his former bands, Spooner, too many times to count. But when I found out he was in a new band, the ghost particles, I had to check them out. And am I ever glad I did. They are a supergroup of sorts if you’re familiar with the Madison music scene (Ex-Spooner, Fire Town, The Rousers, First Person). What’s even better is I got to see them perform at one of their few and far between shows in Madison this summer. I contacted Dave to see if he was up for a Dagger interview and here’s what he had to say.

Have you lived in Madison your entire life? I originally lived in New Jersey; my family moved to Omaha, NE when I was 11. I attended U of Nebraska for one year and then transferred to a smaller state college, Wayne State in the small town of Wayne, Nebraska. (Not affiliated with Wayne State University in Detroit). It was there that I first met Doug “Duke” Erikson. After college I moved to Madison in 1972.

When did you begin your musical career? I was 15 when I formed a band with friends. While in Nebraska I played with five different Rock bands over the thirteen years. It was all good fun and preparation for the next level.

What musical training do you have? No formal training.

Anybody help your training? Just friends, sharing chords. I discovered from the outset that I could play by ear and copy melodies from records.

When did you feel that you “made it” in the field? Why? After many years, our band Spooner was signed by Chameleon Records in 1989, with distribution by EMD, then WEA, and finally Roadrunner. It was the only time I made any real money.

Are you still involved with MadCity Music (record store)? I sold the business in 2007, and it’s still going strong to this day.

Who influenced you the most in your musical career? My dad was a big Jazz fan and would often bring records home. I’ve lived through all the eras of Rock ‘n Roll, and I was knocked out by Eddie Cochran when I was young. The biggest influences were The Beatles and all the ‘60s Garage bands.

How did the ghost particles come about? In the fall of 2019, Joel Tappero mentioned to me that he was starting to work on some songs with Phil Davis. I told them I was interested, and we started to get things going. Then the pandemic hit that winter, so we switched gears, and all got the same Multi-Track software. Since we could no longer get together, we began recording via file-sharing. Don came on board fall of 2020. Jeremy Tappero did all the mixing and drums at his studio in Bloomington, MN. He currently plays bass with Soul Asylum. Lee Laski started as our new drummer in 2022, shortly after the first album was released in May of that year.

Loved seeing you perform live. You played some new songs, what's the target date for that release? We are just starting to record another new song. The target is to get the album out in 2024 sometime. There will probably be vinyl on this one.

On Bandcamp it states, "Tracy Benton, bodhran on ‘Three Things,’" any relation? Sister.

Tell me more about The Waterdogs. Not familiar with them. Are they still a band? The Waterdogs were an instrumental Rock band active from 1984 to 2017. The other members were Lee Laski, Ernie Conner, John Hauser, and Don Irwin. Lee, Ernie, and Don were also playing with roots rockin’ The Rousers all that time. John Hauser came from Paul Black’s band. There were two Waterdogs albums, Live from 1986 (cassette only) and Thermal from 2000 (CD only). There was also a 7” single, “Hawaii 5-0/Theme From Spydog” in 1988.

Any suggestions for new bands breaking into the business? Just do what you love and maybe something will happen. Team up with a good songwriter and be there to lend your talents and serve their songs. And let go of your ego.

Favorite tour? Spooner was the only band that really toured, mainly in a ten-state area. We played as far west as Lawrence, KS, and east to NYC, where we played the Peppermint Lounge, and Metropole in Pittsburgh as well. All the rest of my bands were more regional.

I used go to Merlyn's both nights when you played a weekend. However; the first time I saw you, you opened for The Cretones (my first visit to Merlyn's as well). What were some of your favorite Spooner moments? The Merlyn’s gigs were usually special. There were some clubs we played fairly regularly where our following was sizable, Teddy’s in Milwaukee (now Shank Hall), The B&B in Oshkosh, Lefty’s in Green Bay, Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn, IL, and Tut’s in Chicago. We did a lot of openers. A few that stood out were Marshall Crenshaw in DeKalb, IL and Bloomington, IN; Question Mark &The Mysterians at Tut’s, The Police at Headliners in Madison, and Joe Ely at Fitzgerald’s. The shows on the UW campus were always great too, Great Hall and The Terrace.

What’s your favorite song to perform live? Why? For the ghost particles it would be “All The Love.”

Beautiful song with a kick! How did that song come about? Well, you’d have to ask Phil about any initial inspiration. He sent us the file of the basic structure and we all put it together. I played the fuzz guitar parts and the synth strings as well because Don wasn’t yet with us at that time. I also used an EBow on the break. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXLlReHDkiE&t=9s

What’s your favorite cover of another band? Maybe “Mr. Tambourine Man,” because it’s so recent with ghost particles, or “Roadrunner “ (Modern Lovers), which Spooner did.

You did a great version of "Tambourine Man." Loved Spooner's version of "Roadrunner" as well. Did you see Jonathan Richman when he played Merlyn's? I did see JR at Merlyn’s, and at O’Cayz as well.

Favorite venue to perform at? Merlyn’s in Madison, 1979 to 1983.

Who would you like to work with if you could? I’d like to work with Duke Erikson again. We were working on recording some songs for which he wrote the music, and I wrote the lyrics, about six years ago. He became very busy with Garbage again.

Would love to hear those songs! I’m hoping it will happen. What type of music? All Pop/Rock songs, more like Spooner.

When writing a song, what comes first, lyrics or melody? I’m not really a prolific songwriter. With my long-running instrumental band The Waterdogs, I wrote everything on guitar, of course, and it was primarily lyrics with Spooner.

If you could switch to any other type of music, what would it be? Why? I love Reggae and the rhythmic possibilities, but that ain’t gonna happen.

Any new bands you like or would recommend? I listen to tons of music, both new and old. I think The National are great.

Top Ten desert island discs? (10 albums you couldn’t live without.) That’s a tough one, but here are some favorites off the top of my head. Love Forever Changes; Roxy Music (1st album); The National Boxer and High Violet; Jackson Browne For Everyman; The Jayhawks Sound Of Lies and Smile; Beach Boys All Summer Long; Hawkwind Warrior On The Edge Of Time; Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section. Just the tip of my big iceberg there.

Finish this sentence: I want to be remembered for…being fair and kind, and being a solid Garage-level guitarist.
